He's curious and worried, though. He wants to understand you better, and he wants to know just why it is so hard to smile around him.

So, Tomas tries hard to make you smile, any sort of emotion. He'll give you gifts, things he thinks you'll find interesting from his missions, or just try and surprise you in any sort of way. Which always falls short.

He notices that in tense times, or even in times of tragedy you almost seem unsure about how to feel. And afterwards, you almost seem unaffected, in a bad way.

He swallows his pride and just asks you why it's hard to make you emote, why your voice almost lacks emotion. And when you don't have a proper answer, somehow he forms his own answer.

He's kind to you, as much as he will always seek out a reaction, he doesn't think of you any differently. In fact, he's actually determined to teach you how to properly understand your emotions.

He assures you it's okay to cry, happy cry, sad cry, confused cry, whatever kind of cry. Although, not much had come up to render this reaction out of you. He's almost too expressive around you, almost as if he's showing you what to do.

At the end of the day, however, Tomas is sure to help you. Regardless. It doesn't matter if you can only pout now, it's progress. And he's happy. He's actually made it a point to be there during every big step. He finds it so hard to contain himself when he sees you genuinely smile for the first time.

Now, Bi-Han understands hiding your emotions. He himself was taught to keep them hidden. But slowly, that had just turned into resentment. So he sees a lot of himself in you.

He'll brush it off at first, he tells himself he doesn't want to get into it. But he slowly convinces himself to come around. He's empathetic, he almost understands every movement you make.

He puts in as much effort as he can, at least, what he thinks is enough effort. As strong as he knows he is, he knows that it's a bad idea to let this evasion of emotion turn into the anger he feels.

Bi-Han sits you down, and talks to you directly. He doesn't tell you his entire story, but he tells you that it's okay to allow yourself to feel and allow yourself to express that. But, he tells you not to force yourself to feel. There's a fine line between those two differences.

He enjoys watching your progress, and just like Tomas, he wants to be there every step of the way. But he's also a bit too prideful for that. So, he's content from watching the sidelines.

Little do you know, he's celebrating those little moments. Behind your back, obviously. He's proud of you. But still too prideful to show that in public. However, he voices this to you. He tells you how proud of you he is when he knows he can have a private word with you.

Aussie question time: when I find out an idol is American/Canadian, their image in my mind completely changes because now it’s like “Oh I know exactly who you are, I grew up with your type around me” there are subtleties that I’m going to understand that others might not. Hmmmm... Well I guess I'll start with Felix- I've said it before a bunch but the whole "Felix is a tiny uwuw baby sweet summerchild who is just such a baby" etc. etc. has made me laugh from the get go- because Yep! he is incredibly sensitive and sweet natured and kind and he cries a lot- 100% that is true. Dont think I'm saying it's not. But like. He also grew up in western sydney, he grew up in a area that if you google it one of the first suggestions is "is it safe" but then at the same time he went to private catholic school im pretty sure. and i saw pics from back then that he'd posted back in the day of cool little felix with his gold watch and his fade and all his little homeboys looking rowdy on the train- I know that kid and while that kid can also be sweet and sensitive, he's not incapable and hes not a baby. Good recent example was when he went on that Jewel box show with the gay dudes and people were acting like he was *so uncomfortable* and sooooo out of his element and so this and so that- theres gay dudes all over sydney, there's gay dudes all over australian media- the idea felix couldnt handle that was simply laughable to me- but it kinda shows how many outside perceptions of him still very much fall into that vaguely infantalizing thing. Like when he was the one who was happy to go up to adam levine and dj snake in that skz talker while the other boys were much more shy? that didnt shock me at all. felix went to korea as a whole teenager laregly against his parent wishes- he's actually quite an outgoing and brave guy. Outgoing guys can still be sweeties, though- one doesn't negate the other.

One other aspect of Felix i think a lot of fans just gloss over but is easily noticeable by me is that he can kindaaaaaa be ... a lil bitchy? like he's never ever mean or cruel dont get me wrong- but he has a slight bitchy streak, he rolls his eyes AND he's actually much more sarcastic than people bring up? Again- he does it a lot with Chan and that doesnt shock me- they both are aussie boys, Chan will get it and I think Felix can very much be himself with Chan, he doesn't necessarily feel the need to put up an extra air of like... Sweetie boy-ness? bc when he calls chan a cunt on live chan just laughs and goes OI!! so yuh the main thing with felix is while i do think hes a little sweet guy, ive never from the get go had a hard time seeing him outside of that box, too. Also maybe that's a lil bit aussie humour slipping under the radar here or there 🤔

Chan to me from the get go too was pretty much like. Prototypical overachieving aussie Good Boy. Like, i had a drafted post i never posted bc it was too niche- but it was essentially about how he speaks about sports and the like, and it just said "We get it. You went to zone carnival" which was the sporting event that the kids who got gold or 1st place were sent to. If you went to zone, you were the Successful kid. I think these days most fans perceive him as... a bit of a goofy guy? but I have gone through the archives and i have seen the comments from people talking about how chans such a bad boy- thats shit is so funny to me bc you can show me every iteration of chan and I'd never, ever think he's a bad boy. im finally getting around to this 3-message wall of text which i should realistically ignore because its not really productive and its clear by the end that youre just typing your frustrations at me, but it gives me a chance to say a bit more about a particular angle of what im doing with marx.

what limits? and what explanatory power is lost here? you dont say, although your immediate pivot toward the need to "generate practice" implies that youre suggesting some sort of practice-oriented information. frankly, i dont really understand why this enters here. if marx is totally wrong (which is further than i would go!) and nothing can be salvaged from him whatsoever, you would be upset because this critique of him wouldnt generate immediate practice? on what grounds could that desire for practice even be justified? marxist ones? some new, un-marxist one which can only come out of this (assumed to be, for sake of argument) successful critique of marx which still, for some reason, is immediately interested in the development of practice (sounding an awful lot like marxism btw)? or is your problem simply that it fails to account for actual marxisms after marx? if its the last option, then thats a non-criticism if part of my point is that i am trying to say something new about marx. the fact that he might've been received otherwise would only work as a refutation of my criticism if it weren't a necessary part of the criticism itself (ie, id be wrong for agreeing with myself).

whichever one of these it is, it misses the point. however it works as a segue to what i imagine you really want to talk about, which is concrete struggles. your initial way of getting there is to try and make me reckon with a proper contextualization of marx in his political environment as well as those he influenced. the latter, as ive just said, isn't necessarily damning (because it is part of my point), but the former is definitely worth lingering on.

you seem to think i fail to do this. ironically, i see my chief criticism of marx to be that *he* fails to do this. he tries to identify the development of political economy out of patterns of class struggle, but he constantly gets the facts wrong on both counts. yet even if we could take him at his word and assume he got all of these things right (which is definitely necessary for coming to terms with the nature of marx's project as he saw it), then i would argue that he actually saw his political environment as being shaped, in large part, by the reception of political economy in the workers' movement. this is already clear from the radical/popular economic literature which, in his eyes, arose and declined alongside (and, to some extent, within) the ricardian school, which is why he deals with it at length in theories of surplus value (in a deliberately historical mode, for the record). the socialist appropriation of economic categories to explain the ills of capitalism is something which animates much of his work beginning in the 40s. for example, in the poverty of philosophy, he announces at the outset that he aims to "protest" the "double error" of seeing proudhon as a "good German philosopher" or "one of the ablest French economists" on the basis of marx's being both german and an economist. this goes to show the economic terrain of marx's approach to his socialist rivals and how significant the economic angle was to him and to the movement around him more broadly. the critique of his rivals (especially proudhon) as economic thinkers appears again in capital, as william clare roberts has demonstrated in his work.

but also, at a different level, he very deliberately intervenes in engels' anti-dühring by contributing a single chapter which is *specifically* designed to take dühring to task for his critical history of political economy, in large part (as reading the text makes obvious) because marx alleges that dühring gets the history wrong. this was because, among other things, dühring's work was having a large influence on the german socialist movement and several of marx and engels' peers. this wasn't some apolitical intervention, it had meaningful stakes for marx's practical work. clearly, the critique of political economy and the ability to properly account for the history of economic thought was politically significant for both marx and the socialist movement around him. if i am being accused of over-estimating this angle, then that would only serve as another criticism of marx himself.

this has absolutely nothing to do with what im dealing with here, and its bizarre of you to include it in the first place, not least because you seem to think that by me criticizing communists around me for not having a political horizon capable of overcoming social democracy, that i am overly critical of socialist experiments in the 20th century for feeding themselves. if anything, i think the point of political theory should be to achieve the greatest possible "good" (whatever that might be taken to mean) for the greatest majority of people. despite their obvious flaws, i count the 20th century socialist experiments as among the greatest examples of social organization ever achieved and if communism were proven to be impossible tomorrow, i would be a dogmatic social democrat (ive actually said this for years).

im not the cartoonish ultra leftist that some of you think i am, as if i care more about establishing some magical bar for communism than i do about the people who are supposed to reach it and live in it. i dont say any of those things "frustratingly often", and youre unable to correctly attribute my own views to me, which i think is pretty telling. if anything, the things i try to talk about here dont stem from an allergy to anything less than whatever perfect ideal i might hold in my head, its out of a frustration with communists who dont even recognize that they might as well be social democrats. thats not necessarily an insult (ive worked with a lot of good social democrats in my life and will continue to do it as long as it produces worthwhile results), its just supposed to clarify the stakes and what i see as the limits to their analysis of the system (which ought to matter to them, even if i dont get much out of it!).

i'd like to think that you talk to little zandy about a lot thats troubling you, of course not with the illness as much, but like mundane things. you heard some agents talk abt you, and you didnt quite understand but you thought it would be too troublesome to tell one of the other/very busy/segments so you told zandy abt it. yes you also rant to zandik himself from time to time, but he's so busy now a days (and you dont want to desturb if he's doing smt important, like finding a cure) so you stick to telling zandy all of the little things. or maybe you just wanted to feel smart and useful for once, so you teach him how to speel certain long words, not writing though since you still have trouble with that yourself :(.

When you woke up from your coma, Zandy wasn't sure what to expect, but it certainly wasn't a grown-up who was willing to talk his ear off. Not that he minds of course! In fact, he loves it because no one in the lab was willing to indulge him for even a few minutes. But you're willing to talk for hours! And listen to him talk too! You're the best grown-up ever! You two talk about so many things, it's hard to keep track of. And you love it because you know that Zandy will never judge you. (The other segments wouldn't either but, you're still scared and nervous they would, and there's also the fact of how busy they are. You can't be wasting their time with your nonsense...) Though of course you never burden Zandy with any heavy topics. But the child does get a glimpse of your true feelings a bit more than the other segments.

You definitely teach Zandy a lot of things! The segments are actually rather grateful for you becoming his teacher now. They don't have to waste time explaining things anymore... seeing the child brighten and smile whenever he learns something new from you truly warms your heart. It makes you feel good, to be able to help him out in some way... it makes you proud to see him put your knowledge to good use as well! Yes, show off to the older segments how smart you are, little one! Ugh I imagine sometimes you try to push through the shaky hands to write stuff for Zandy, but it usually never ends well. The little boy always reassures you that it's okay, you don't need to do all that for him! You're already doing so much for him, and that's all he can ask you.

Though I imagine Dottore would notice if all of a sudden your little rants about your troubles stopped happening. Now, if you didn't have any troubles anymore, that'd be great, but he knows you do, so why aren't you coming to him? He'll probably find out the answer soon enough...

You could’ve sworn they sold [candy bar] here and tried scurrying around the store in all directions before finally giving up. You hesitantly walked up to the register waiting for the guy to turn back around.

Your jaw slightly dropped when he turned. He was stunning.

“Hey pretty lady, do you need help with anything?” He smiled and your heart skipped a beat. His smile was absolutely perfect.

(long post about purgatory and meta and rp)

sigh one thing ive been thinking is that it feels a bit unfair to see so many people complaining or doomposting over how purgatory affects the overarching qsmp rp story or how it ~interrupted arcs~ or is ~disturbing current storylines~ or ~narratively unsatisfying~ like. Sure. its a bit abrupt and most players were caught off guard because lore-wise it stems from the federation which means none of them were told about anything beforehand

but... its only been three days. maybe we could have a little faith? like idk ill be soooooo out there rn and say that maybe the admins did this now for a reason. maybe itll make sense later on. we already see lore repercussions with elquackity and his motives and all the nods to the eggs.

theres fair criticism to be made (when done respectfully) if youre mainly here for the roleplay but i feel like we sometimes need to remind ourselves that the qsmp storytelling is a VERY ambitious project. lmao. imagine being the writing team and trying to wrangle 20+ characters with distinct points of view and journeys on an ever-changing story because of the very nature of live rp. its practically IMPOSSIBLE to tie up every loose end neatly and at this point i dont think we should expect that. keeping up momentum with all plotlines must also be pretty hard, cc's schedules and outside factors like server programming and building and mod tweaking and all those meta elements considered and so on and so on

i DO also want the story to move forward and be cohesive and make sense in a satisfactory way. like i really do!!!!!!! but i try to understand that thats not ALL the qsmp is about. from the start quackity said the server wouldn't be exclusive to the rp aspect. it sure is that way right now, but thats because most of the active members are VERY passionate about roleplaying. thats a good thing! they have fun and its fun to watch and the experience is mostly good for everyone because it corresponds to their expectations to an extent

the thing about purgatory is that i feel like its a lot more meta than most people doomposting realize. it ties into the story, sure, but to me it feels like the sudden switch in environment and vibes and stakes isnt actually catered to the rp and thats FINE. like thats not what it exists for and thats fineeeeeee

pac for one has said he appreciates the event for the change of pace, though its very hard (lol), because regular qsmp was starting to feel a bit stale to him and he was kind of running out of things to do. THATS A GREAT THING! managing player engagement like that is awesome and sometimes necessary. YES, purgatory caters to a very different playstyle than what we're used to -- and thats one of its strenghts.

a lot of hispanic creators have also felt this!!!! roier, rivers and carre most prominently have been VERY excited about this event because its similar in format to a lot of spanish speaking events like mc extremo and such. a lot of these players are also not particularly interested in rp-ing and had not been logging on very often prior to purgatory.

even roleplay regulars like tubbo, fit and bbh have shown interest in purgatory for the competitive nature of the setting!!! thats cool too!!!! something different, new possibilities to play around with. thats what the events should be about. kudos to the admins and dev teams for attempting it in such a big scale. their effort shows and all the mechanics weve seen are really fucking cool

i love the roleplay!!!!!! its one of my favorite parts of the qsmp!!!!!! but its not ALL there is and it shouldnt be! non rp-oriented creators are also part of the project and deserve to have a little fun too -- not to mention a big chunk of the hispanic fan community that has blown up twitter with support bc what we have rn is similar to events they already love!!!!!!! im glad to see so many of them get excited again!!!!!!

at the end of the day, qsmp is a LONG long term project, and purgatory ends in two weeks. by the time its over, we can all choose to engage with it as we wish. it can be a big filler episode in your mind, if you want. it can be just for fun..... otherwise, if its not fun, your regularly scheduled qsmp will be back soon anyway :3 its fine to not like it, its fine to have something negative to say about it if properly tagged and not like. crazy entitled or blown out of proportion for what this situation is.

i just hope we can all manage our online experiences accordingly and avoid making things less enjoyable for each other. this is supposed to be fun

~ The Transfem Nb Logan Essay ~

majority of his identity, his mask, is tied to masculinity. he doesnt want to lose that, as its the only solid part of himself he knows.

it’s what he remembers. hes on a constant search for the man he used to be, the man he thinks he was, to distract on how he actually feels in the present.

he doesnt want to lose that side of himself in fear of change, in fear of losing what little he has of his identity again. but what he fails to understand is that he doesnt have to keep clinging to it.

he'll still always have it, just as he'll always have other parts of himself as well. the mask isnt all he is, but he doesnt know how to deal without having it. the mask is what others like. the mask is the self he likes, the one that keeps him safe. and the mask isnt entirely fake, its just that those parts of him are just being used in the wrong way. its also the way the animal side of him is referred to. ‘not a man’. im aware its used an emotional metaphor, but it has potential for a trans metaphor too. he feels different and doesnt have the words to explain it. being Man is what he knows to choose over the animal, knowing he needs to keep that over whats inside. especially after the memory loss, he wants to hold onto that more ‘human’ side of himself. to hold onto ‘Logan’. not only is he presenting exactly as hes always known Logan to be, hes presenting as everyone else has always known him. he already struggles with accepting others can even tolerate him for his problems, and doesnt wanna risk changing something as big as his identity. when u dont feel solid, when u dont understand ur own feelings, u attach yourself to whatever solid thing u can. except, what if that solid self wasnt really you either? i think a lot of this realization would come from remembering who he was before weapon x, before the wars, and realizing the Logan version of himself that hes been trying to hold onto isnt as genuine to who he is as he thought. he didnt know himself then either. even further back, childhood, before anything bad happened...he lacked that sense of toughness. he had a happy carefree spirit. its closer to being real, but still, a child also hasnt developed yet. and the realization hits that the selves in his past arent what hes supposed to be looking for. thats something youre supposed to keep defining as you change and learn as you age, and hes definitely done a lotta aging since then. if you dont have a proper grasp on how u feel, the person youre perceiving yourself to be isnt gonna be entirely true. the immortality concept hits next. how other people get a time limit to discover themselves, while his is never ending. theres no finish line, no final self, which would likely freak him out a bit at first. and due to his spiritual side, i think he'd have a long journal sesh about this topic. like, what is 'self' if you peel back all the layers and find it? then what? would you still stay the same? or would you be cursed to be forever changing and evolving?....thing is, your core doesnt really change much. just the outer parts, like opinions and interests and ways of presenting. those are meant to change forever, while your core sticks with you. so whats his core feel like?

he can do anything he wants, and all the time to do it. why keep limiting himself?....what does he even want? or rather, what does he want now? 'anything' is a pretty large category of things to choose from. hes never really had to choose much before. surely he cant like everything, everyones got some kinda preference. but he doesnt need to do a complete ego death and give up everything thats interested him in the past, just reevaluate what things he still resonates with, and what things he's been repressing. so, he goes out and starts practicing, to search for who he is in the moment, rather than the past. searching for his future. its hard at first, breaking out of that small box in order to allow new things and conflicting interests. if he didnt have to be just Man, what would that person enjoy? i think over the years of accepting his mutantness, he's also grown to like the way his body looks, and would lean towards revealing clothes to show it off. (but its not just his clothes, he'd be seeking out other things that his toxic masculinity has restricted him from as well obv). and after accepting that he'll still look and act exactly the same no matter what he wears, he'd probably get into all kinds of styles, feminine masculine casual fancy, whatever, to make up for wearing the same stuff for basically a century. i only use transfem as a way to describe the direction he went from moving his gender away from masculinity, but he'd probably fw identifying as unlabeled(to represent his goal of defining himself by the present moment and accepting change)(but also if he knew about neogenders he'd probably be like 'my gender is feral type mutant', as well as still being a bit of a guy)(as ‘guy’ has a lot less pressure than Man) its true that its important to remember parts of your past, of what make you You, but only as a stepping stone to lead into who you’ll be in the future, or else you’ll forever just be stuck in the past as an incomplete person. sure, a person is never forever complete, but they can be someone in the moment, which can get clearer over time the more you experience being yourself. letting yourself be influenced by emotions, reactions, and the world around you, not restricting to be just a fixed mask or defined certain labels. as the caged animal metaphor implies, thats exactly what his identity is. caged. his striving to be a Man, used in the way of meaning Mankind, taken the wrong manner and caging himself within the perceived views of men, rather than in the human way. to be human is to define yourself, not to be defined by others. by not allowing the animal out, in fear of being defined by it, he unknowingly is still forcing himself to be defined by what he thinks those around him expect of him. he isnt just caging the animal, hes caging himself.

authors note: i have a long history and complex relationship with my identity, not knowing if i should return to who i was or keep trying to craft someone new, having constant on and off body dysphoria. i see a lot of people who resonate with wolverines butchness and potential to be ftm, but i had a basically the opposite reaction. i already had his exact body type upon becoming a fan of him(short, incredibly hairy, bushy eyebrows that i would shave out of hatred, and parts of me arguing over wanting to keep my sideburns or not). i wanted to embrace my prettiness, parts of me feeling more on the girl side, but other parts liked the socially viewed ‘masc’ things about my body, especially tied into my more ‘masc’ acting attitude....my guy sides and girl sides were at war. how could i have both? i wanted everything, but didnt know how, didnt know if it’d be ok....

from the first time i saw him(in x1), i didnt see a Man, i didnt see him as butch. i saw him as pretty. almost like a girl, but in the way parts me felt sorta like a girl. it was like it was telling me ‘you can be both. you can be all your contradicting parts, bcuz this guy can too. these dont have to be seen as masculine things if you dont want to see them that way. and when youre older, this is what you’ll look like. you’ll be ok.’

instead of being body goals like a lot of trans fans experienced for him, he was my body acceptance.

W! Violence

Summary: reader has been trying to escape the trials since she arrived. One night she stumbles along a house that is out of the way . It is occupied by Leland Coyle and he makes a deal with her: keep his house clean with dinner every night and you can stay here.

The ending to my little story. If you read along i hope you enjoyed ♥️

In the morning Coyle woke up first like he always did to see you asleep cuddled up with him, dammit this leaving everyday is pissing him off, leaving you all alone like this.. And last night.. Finally he knew why you had a sudden mood change. You wanted to leave, even if you said you did not want to , he knew you did. You missed the sun, the fresh air… the clouds. The man groaned as he got up and out of the old bed feeling heavy and not up for the day, hopefully it would be over soon so he could get back to you.. Just to do it all again tomorrow.

A bit later you wake up to an empty house, a dark fake sky, and the smell of death lingering all around you. Another day in this place, the never ending trial. Slowly you get up rudding an eye wondering how Coyle is doing, you just wanted him here everyday with you to keep you safe, watch movies with him and ask him to help you sew. With a sigh you dragged yourself downstairs skipping breakfast but still filled out the note asking for basic supplies and pulling in the basket from the previous note, you spent the day sewing some placemats for the table when a knock at the door scared you right to your bones.

Should you?! Who could it be? Why would someone be here?! You were scared, Coyle was not here. “Regent 47? Its Easterman i'd like to talk !” yelled the voice on the other side of the door. “Uhm..” your heart was beating in your chest now ringing in your ears making it hard to think. With caution you got up from the table to go open the door slowly to see Easterman and two large men behind him. He smiled waving and you just stared at this nicely dressed man. “There you are! We were worried about you, thought you were dead! “ beamed the man “ quite the little home you have here, “ You just started, unable to say anything at all. What could he possibly want? “Uhm..” the man held his hand up stopping you. “No need for an explanation, ive been observing you these past few days, are you alright? You have looked so sad lately” your eyes grew big . of course he had been watching .. cameras were everywhere…”y-yes… i .. just miss the sun i guess… Easterman i ..” he placed his hand on the door scarring you. “I'm sure you do Regent. Thats why im here, i have a proposition for you: come live with me, outside these trials, a nice big clean house, all the yard you could want to sit in the sun, you could be my little housekeeper instead of that damn Primes” a .. a way out but.. “What about Coyle? What will he do?” you asked him , trying to push the door back onto Easterman to close it but his grip was too firm. “He will be all alone again ….” the look on Eastermans face changed from happy to a little angry, his brow furrowed and he looked to be grinding his teeth a bit. “Hes a Prime , they dont have feelings Regent 47, who cares? Come live with me. I promise the nights with me will be so much better than that night with that damn cop” you stepped back letting go of the door allowing Easterman and his men to let themselves into the little house you made into a home. “You.. you saw…” you were speechless right now.. Why..how.. “Saw you riding his dick like you loved it? Many times.. Fucking slut im not asking again.” “please..get out.. Im going to ask you to leave.. “ Eastermans men grabbed you, bringing you to him, knocking over the little table in the process. “Oh Regent, this house was never yours, its mine. Everything in here is .. mine. And i'm going to make sure you understand that.” before you could say anything you were knocked out and taken out of the house.

Meanwhile, Coyles day was anything but exciting, he wanted to be with you dammit. On the way home Coyle was thinking of something, anything he could do to make you happy, maybe he could try to make dinner? Clean something? The man puffed heavily into his smoke feeling more and more irritated. “Hm? Whys the door open?” Coyle asked as the house got closer into view. He rushed up the steps looking all around. “Sweetness? “ he asked, going in to see the table flipped over and the sewing machine stabbing a needle into the table over and over. “Not like her to leave this on.” he was growing uneasy and worried. Coyle made his way back to the table flipping it back over seeing everything on the ground spread out. His head shot back up to the open door when he realized. “Sweetness…. Oh fuck.”

You woke up to a bright light shining on you and a headache. The room you were in was not the house.. It looked like a circus with mannequins everywhere. You tried to get up but the chain around your neck was making it difficult. The chain was attached to the floor and your hands were zip tied. “Look whos awake!!” yelled an excited voice. The man came into view and you shrunk into the dirty wall screaming for your life. It was Barbi , how?! Why?! “So ya think ya can just say no to the boss eh?” he stomped over kicking you in the stomach onto your back so he could stand over you . “lucky for me he said I could do whatever I wanted to ya! I hope ya like my friend here, “ he waved his shotgun around . “cuz its going inside ya!” he laughed as he continued to beat on you while laughing. Coyle was checking everywhere he could around the trials for you, you had to be somewhere, where were you?! He was growing panicked and not thinking clearly, Gooseberry found Coyle yelling and swearing up the black walls and rushed over to shake him. “Coyle! Easy! Ya lookin for your girl right?” the man turned to the woman pulling his sunglasses off “where.. Where is she Gooseberry” the woman pouted as she pointed to the tall building on their right. “Shes in there Coyle, but I cannot go with you” she told him, a little sad. Coyle took off for the building busting the door open to see a long hallway, your screams filled his ears making him shake in his boots. “Sweetness” he ran all the way down the hallway to see Barbi pulling at your pants trying to get them off you , he shoved the man off you taking his electric prod out to defend you. Your eyes were half swollen but you knew it was Coyle, the man shocked Barbi and brought his attention back to you to see you being lifted up by the Skinnerman so he could spray psychosis into your face. He ran away soon after and you started screaming as loud as you could, feeling its effect take over. Barbi was getting up and Coyle needed to find a way to free you , just as the man was about to grab Coyle a stun was sent his way hitting his back stopping the man in his tracks. Joy and Mika your friends ran over pushing Barbi out of the area, Joy kneeled down by you ignoring Coyle to slip you some antidote while Mika used a Rig Recharger for his stun. “We are friends of hers, listen she wants to get out of here. We are too far gone but shes not, “ Mika said, helping Joy up after she had freed you. Coyle quickly grabbed hold of you pulling you over his shoulder. “Where the fuck am i suppose to go” Coyle asked the two regents, you were a shaking heaving mess right now, bleeding, battered, bruised. “The way you came in, we have been doing some snooping, follow the twisted trees there's a gate, take the car outside, we rigged it, should work” Joy told the man as she pulled her stun out as well. “Please go, “ Mika said looking at Coyle, “we will be fine” Coyle handed the man his electric prod and held onto you with both hands as he rushed out of the room leaving the two regents alone with the Primes.

The car was right where they said it was and it was already on, quickly Coyle got in setting you in the passenger side , he sped off leaving the trials behind as he followed the trees, trying his best to doge garbage and what not, a gate was coming into view now. “Sweetness hold onto me” he told you. You felt all around whimpering, everything hurt, you could half see and wanted everything to just end. Your hands locked around Coyles arm as he drove through the gate hitting some security guards and broke through a double door. Both of you gasped and you had closed your eyes when it happened. The car evened out and Coyle slowly went down to a steady speed. “Sweetness… sweetness look..” Coyle said , shaking his arm around. You peaked feeling a harsh ray in your eye. “Ah.. ugn..” lifting your hand you realized it was the sun, the sky was visible… the clouds.. The air in your face.. The fresh air. You were out… you made it… you both did. Coyle placed his hand on your lap while he drove, taking one final look in the rearview mirror.

Little drabble to close out the story

*you and Coyle had settled into a tiny house a few states over. As soon as Coyle figured out where he was he decided to get great distance between him and the trials.

*a few days you were living in the car or sneaking into Hotels. Coyle had to bandage you up and keep you calm and quiet. The psychosis was gone but you were still very jittery and scared of everything around you.

*he requested help from the state and was given special treatment for his time in the service and how broken you were. You were unable to work because of the trauma .

*Coyle built the house ok the country side away from everyone and everything. No neighbors, no city, just acres of land the state owned .

*he set the house up just like the one in the trials for you so you would feel a sense of familiarity. He also set up a fence around the house

*you had gotten better but still were very anxious at times, always checking around your home. Leaving little night lights on at night and following Coyle around if you felt extra scared

* every morning, evening, and before you went to bed Coyle would check the perimeter outside the house. Every single day. He never found anything or anyone but that did not stop him from checking .

*Every monday the state would drop off supplies at the door from the mail. All you had to do was fill out the flyers they gave you and send em out every friday in the mailbox. It brought a sense of calmness to you , and it reminded you of the trial house

*the backyard was full of flowers, vegetable gardens and a little pond that ducks liked to swim in. You loved sitting outside during the day just staring at the yard and the sky

*Everynight after Coyle was done checking things you would both snuggle in the bed watching a tape .

Can we mention and call attention to how their website looks now? They don't seem to check the final work at all. Some items like Gummy Eye, Shell Pot, and Inchsect are larger than the rest of the items, which makes them stick out of the line, which is just ugly.

Also now the images for forest and grassland locations have just a huge weight, which makes the foraging page take an unreasonable amount of time to load. Guys, I just want to make a couple clicks and go about my business again, why should I have to wait for the site to load because your images weigh so much?

And continuing with the artist thing. Items are drawn in different styles and it seems like the current owners don't think about how things end up looking at all. And I just don't understand why? I thought the new owners were more interested in the quality of the species, but it looks like I was wrong.

This all goes to show that the moderation doesn't seem to check at all how certain pages are displayed and working.

the item sizes thing i remember being way more egregious than this (or maybe it has to do with the fact im on mobile), but the funny thing about lorekeeper is that the size of items and awards and stuff is determined by the size of the image. im pretty sure you have to edit the css if you want the site to automatically resize the images.

the heavy images issue is also something ive noticed, they NEED to compress the images for the foraging locations because if it loads like shit now, imagine what itll be like when they all have insanely large image files to boot up when people just wanna do 3 clicks. its incredibly easy to compress images, you can do it right from your browser and usually theres no way to even tell the difference between a compressed image and a non-compressed (at least when its been resized like the foraging locations are). the same issue comes up with the items, inventories take forever to load now and i think the problem is because EVERY NEW ITEM IS ON A 1000x1000 CANVAS. for reference, lorekeeper recommends 100x100 for items. you do NOT need a canvas that big, and it shows they dont really know how to make items.

listen, i dont mean to hate on terra artists or whatever, just gonna point out examples

the problem with using such a big canvas for items is that you create a lot of tiny details that arent needed for an item icon. think of items in video games, you want to make something visually appealing and recognizable with as little detail as possible. the pincher potion, gummy eye, and silk wyrm are good examples of this, limited palettes, strong linework, and enough contrast/strong silhouette to be recognized from far away. i think the fur pop, shell pot, and moonfin are examples of how not to do items. the fur pop is too overly rendered, and the linework is very thin and small within the actual lollipop. the moonfin and shell pot both have small details (ie. the tassel on the moonfin’s arrow + the bits of fur on the shell pot) and the rendering issue from before. reminder that these are eventually going to be used as emojis on the discord, theyll be incredibly hard to read at such a small size plus incredibly unrecognizable to users familiar with the old items. in addition, the shell pot lacks direction in design, it reads more as an item that would grant a tail trait or a mist trait, not shell/exoskeleton. fallen tail, monstera bat, and horseshoe beetle also have these issues, but theyre similar enough to the old items that people will probably still recognize them.

like, look at these iconic items. they are so popular because theyre simple and recognizable from a distance, you can make them as big or as small as you want, you can see it from 10 feet away and still know what it is. THATS good item design.

i think this goes back to “mods hiring their friends,” you just pick people on a personal bias and dont consider the level of skill in making specific items because item design is not the same as making fully finished rendered art. it takes a different eye and you need to think of different principles than you would when making a full piece.

and heres the thing, that doesnt even necessarily mean the art is bad. the fur pop for example, has a very distinct and eye catching style; however, the issue is that theres no uniformity WHATSOEVER. these dont look like theyre all part of the same world, if all the items were done in the same gritty rendered style of the fur pop i would say its a great set, its the fact that you have some items that are incredibly simple, some that are “gritty,” and some that are just silly.

if nothing else, at the very least PLEASE make your canvas smaller and compress your images, youre making the site painful to use (and thats especially an issue when your site has so little functionality anyways)

one of my fave things abt mk is how hes come into his own, owning his powers and self even though self doubt. hes a lil people pleaser, but hes not, like, a little somft uwu boy and he gives people many chances because he actively chooses to, and thinks they deserve them, but once its become too much hes happy to tell people thats e-fucking-nough as much as the censors will allow

fave thing for mei is probably her self confidence and aesthetic, she falters for sure but she has this fucking feral energy i adore and i hope nothing tames that, i dont care about how character growth is usually portrayed, you can be capable and not have to dim your fire. i understand the stuff with calming down to do the training at the end of s4 but she was also the only one with enough guts to tell him to fuck off. she got no stars but she was also the one to kick azure deadass in the face and steal swk (their trump card) back and if she hadnt, they might not have got swk back at all

fave thing abt swk is his tits his vibes. i actually like a lot abt swk fr, i like that hes a funny little guy, but you can still see bits of a more dangerous god under there, who can make the hard decisions noone wants to make because SOMEONE has to do it. hes a person with very firm convictions, even when he knows theyll get him a lot of hate. was he gonna kill the host? maybe, in hindsight its easy to say she didnt have to die, but realistically, one person vs the entire earth is a no brainer choice that noone else would have wanted to make

unpopular opinion and possibly hypocritical but i dont want canon maq to be too soft. stay a bastard. stay jagged. tbh im not sad over younger shadowpeach, and i know im a mean fucker but just in fiction, purely soft sweet relationships are pretty boring to me and i dont want that back at all. i want them to heal a little, tolerate each other, but i dont want maq to suddenly be sweet and sorry for everything. i got faith in lmk to not ruin his character tho.

also i liked his s3 outfit WAY better than his current one

Okay I have some thoughts about the vengence saga. Unfiltered through thoughts, just what I think about it after only a few listens (like less than a dozen.

This is going to be a long one.

The first half slaps quite a bit; The voice of Calypso is great, Troy is always a pleasure to hear and the writing fits them just as well as it did in wisdom and circe sagas respectfully.

Ballads like 'I'm not sorry for loving you' are songs that take me some time to get warm to, so i want say much about it.

Dangerous is a little slowed and burdened by the intro; if it were a musical and the albums we got were a soundtrack, I would cut the song to begin basically after the ody intro (though that would be just a bit difficult because it follows exactly into hermes' parts). It feels somewhat expositiony and isnt written as well as it could have been? I might be wrong here, thing is, it just doest sit with me well writing wise. Soon as Troy enters stage, Dangerous goes HARD. The back half of dangerous slaps incredibly, no notes. Big fan of ody's verse too. and oh my god the livestream animatic. ody fighting monsters and hermes is there just DANCIN, my boy

Now charybdis feels like a transitional song a lot, which is okay. One that is more exposition than anything. Shit you need to talk about and set up; youre gonna have those in a 40 song musical. For a transitional song its quite cool, though its kind of hard for me to say much else on it. The instrumental shift at the end just as posiedon arrives feels damn right.

Get in the water is amazing. I dont like how some limes are timed though, 'ruthlessness / is mercy upon / ourselves' is an obvious as a way to chop it, but i feel like the vocal riffs on it couldve been made a bit more interesting, it feels a bit disjointed, and that might be the point. I might be wrong here, im not much of a musician. Now why he timed the lines delivered by the dead like he did i do not know, i dont like it. It just doesnt fit the timescale of the instrumentation. I might be obviously incorrect to someone more musically aligned, but thats what i see. If i am correct, it might be so off to serve the narrative, monster and all. To show that these calls from the dead aren't here to help him, basically, they're here to haunt him, which would be my first interpretation if the lines were more coherent. If it was more coherent, i would read it the same way i read the baby tele flashback in god games. But that NOT being the message, the dead NOT giving him the resolve to go on, it just doesnt really work with the lyrics for the upcoming anime battle i feel. Im starting to ramble so ill move on.

Six hundred strike is very cool. Except for about a half second when he screams his attack name, that goody enough to take me out of the story, and that aint good, and the last lines post torture. Firstly, i love the fact that we come straight in with electric guitars, you can tell that cunning ody ain't fucking around. The battle itself is very epic, very grand, again, except for the 'six hundred strike'. Like. Horge. Mr. Jalapeño. What does that even fucking mean. I would get it if there was a line previously that was like "for every pain you caused" but like. Even then. It ought be plural. It just feels incredibly goofy and incongruous with the otherwise epic battle. Moving on. Torturing an immortal scene is always aweosme, and the execution is very good, ody's screams are very nice indeed. Vocals convey emotion quite well here, from both Jorge and Steven. The one thing i DO have a problem with is how they handled the last few lines. I understand what they are intended to do, and they do that, but they don't do the idea justice. It could have been made LESS like a piece of exposition, and i wish it was.

Generally i liked it??? I guess?????? Im not sure. Im not as dead hyped as i was after underworld or circe, but underowlrd is an act finale, and circe has me biased as it has some of my top songa from the musical so far. Vengance hits a little weak compared to wisdom, but that might be that i didnt have time to really proccess it. I felt similarly about underworld when it first released, to a lesser degree, but still. Maybe ill get around to it.

Also not a single beloved character died horribly.
