Talking about why garrosh hellscream is innocent, because i am a garrosh supremacist and i want to talk about it :)

And also to educate the uneducated people who believe he isn’t misunderstood. I hope to educate you on this subject :]

(Please scroll away if you dont wanna listen to a big long rant :) and constructive criticism is very welcome! Give me one valid reason as to why Garrosh is a bad person after reading this, i dare you)

⚠️WOW SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️

1. Childhood:

Garrosh grew up in draenor, living with his dad (Grommash) and moved away to Nagrand at a young age due to a redpox outbreak, which was a deadly disease that killed hundreds of orcs. Garrosh was quite depressed during his time in nagrand, as the group of orcs he lived with saw his dad as someone who brought a curse apon their people, by drinking the blood of a pit lord called mannaroth. Garrosh felt ashamed of his father’s actions and did not want to take up the leadership of his people, he stated that he would rather die than be a leader. He did not want to become like his dad and was terrified that this would happen.

Thrall, who was a good friend to Grommash, visited garrosh after his death and told him about the heroic acts he had done for his people, and how Garrosh should not be ashamed of his legacy, motivating Garrosh and encouraging him to join the horde and live on azeroth.

Grommash was never really present in Garrosh’s life, and neither was his mum, who died a few months(it is hinted?) After he was born. This could contribute to his later actions and how he sees different people in his life, for example, he looks up to Thrall as a father figure and the way he acts is highly influenced by the people around him.

All throughout garrosh’s childhood, he was in a state of depression. This did not clear off until the beginning of the cataclysm expansion, when he was made warchief by thrall, but I personally believe he just learnt to mask it, and cover it with aggression. But that is a rant for a different day :)

2. Personality:

Garrosh has an arrogant and confident personality, however this is actually proven to be Garrosh’s way of hiding his negative emotions, hr is always shown to be VERY insecure, possibly due to not having his parents around when he was younger. he is also shown to be a people pleaser due to him wanting to make his people happy, and always trying to impress those around him, even his enemies. On the other hand he has also been shown to have a caring and loyal side to him, he sticks by anyone who does the same for him. He is also empathetic as we see in the stonetalon mountains questline, where he shows anger against Krom’gar for bombing a peaceful tauren village.

Garrosh also dislikes it when things do not go his way, he always wants to do things his way, and is quite immature for his age (again due to not having a proper childhood bc of parents)

He also has problems controlling his anger (alot like his dad) and will not hesitate to shout and attack close friends, it they disagree with or disrespect him. Garrosh does not like to be looked down apon either.

And as we see during Mists of pandaria expansion, he will quite literally do anything to get what he wants.

3.Orc culture and politics in Draenor:

Orcs as a species have a very war- like culture, they live in large clans who all compete for territory and resources. If they do not do this, they will die, Its that simple. The ideas on fighting, murder, etc depends on the clan, so it is hard to say what orcs as a whole think on these subjects, other than what is and isn’t honourable. Orcs are very honour-driven, and this is a large factor of their culture. In Draenor, there is also someit isn’t as frowned upon to kill and innocent from the opposing clan as it would be in Azeroth, as their idea is that ‘the innocent could grow up and potentially be a threat in the future.’ As Garrosh himself mentions in his convo with Varok Saurfang during a meeting: and i quote “But surely you cannot think that those children were born into innocence? They would have grown up and taken arms against us!”

The murder of innocents in Draenor is not taken as seriously as it would be in Azeroth. As the politics are completely different.

Why am I speaking about this in particular you might ask? Because Garrosh GREW UP with these ideas, so he understandably would run things the way it would be done in Draenor, he didn’t know any better, no one told him about the politics in Azeroth, Thrall couldn’t help him-

HE EVEN SAYS , AS THRALL WAS MAKING HIM WARCHIEF THAT HE DIDN’T KNOW HOW THE POLITICS IN AZEROTH WORKED, AND YET THRALL STILL MADE HIM SEEM LIKE THE SCUM OF HE EARTH FOR NOT KNOWING??

4.Thrall being an arsehole:

Thrall plays a major role in why Garrosh did the things he did, and I’ll keep bringing it up time and time again. Thrall decided to leave Garrosh (who at the time was unwilling to take up the role) as warchief, while he went to Nagrand to sort out the elementals, as he felt something was wrong with them. He did this while the Horde was in the middle of a Crisis, and people were starving and almost dying of dehydration, due to Deathwing attack on Azeroth, and the horde having no available resources after repairing their capital city. Thrall left Garrosh to deal with all of this when it should’ve been a more mature leader, such as himself, Cairne, Voljin, or maybe even Baine. So, Ultimately it was Thrall who allowed everything Garrosh did, to happen, Garrosh was not his only option and had said he did not want to be the warchief, he knew he wasnt fit for this role just yet. He is not a diplomat yet thrall expects him to be one.

Garrosh knew that the horde needed resources, and thought about attacking ashenvale, the tauren living there had seen an orc attacking nearby and thought it was because of garrosh, however this was not the case, it was a different orc clan (twilight hammer) who had nothing to do with him. They told Cairne (chieftain of the Tauren at the time) who challenged Garrosh to a duel. Garrosh had his weapon ‘blessed’ by an enemy of Cairne called magirtha grimtotem, who actually poisoned Garroshs weapon instead. Garrosh was unaware of this and killed Cairne by accident.

4.opinions of others

Because Garrosh had accidentally killed Cairne, the people of the horde saw him as a traitor and did not have great opinions of him, despite this being in no way his fault. He dueled Cairne to protect his honour, as in Draenor the loser of a Duel (mak’gora) is either killed, or exiled from their clan. Garrosh knew this.

Peoples opinions of garrosh only worsened after he manabombed Theremore. This made garrosh feel quite betrayed in a way.

Alot of people also bring up the fact that garrosh threatened to kill voljin, and held hatred against him and other non orcs. Garrosh felt threatened by them. Wanna know why?

Authough thrall had said to garrosh that he could go to Voljin for help, when he needed said help, who was there for him? NO ONE.

The only one who was minorly there for him was baine, that is why garrosh seems friendly with the Tauren, he is friendly to anyone who wishes to stand with him. He was friendly with the pandaren and welcomed them happily until they sided with the alliance, (and disagreed with the whole Yashaarj situation, but ill talk about that later.)

Garrosh felt threatened by voljin, he gave him empty death threats to his face and expected him to take it? Garrosh gave him similar death threats back, demanding that he left the city, and guess what? Garrosh was the only one being seen as the ‘bad guy’ in this situation for being threatened. Garrosh booted voljin (and the trolls) out of Orgrimmar completely. And put their island under martial laws. This was only really because voljin had quite literally just threatened treason on him, And dont give me the “Oh but garrosh is bias because he favors orcs more than the other horde races!” No he is not. He treats anyone (in this case, trolls) who decides to side against him with the same respect they give him. He favors orcs, yes, but understand that THEY ARE HIS OWN PEOPLE, OF COURSE HE WOULD TRUST THEM MORE! Why would he give protection and respect to people who dont give the same in return?

(I am not trying to justify Garrosh committing war crimes here, it is a war crime whether you like it or not, but there was reasons for this, therefore it can be excused if you do not look at it from a moral perspective)

The bombing of theremore was very strategically smart!

The bombing of Theremore was not a sudden attack as some people think. The horde and alliance had been fighting over theremore for WEEKS ON END. And the innocent had been given plenty of time to flee. Garrosh knew that this was a smart thing to do, and because of the culture he was raised in, he probably did not know how angry HIS OWN PEOPLE would be if he decided to bomb theremore. As we know, the bombing of theremore is what started off the darkspear revolution, a rebellion against garrosh lead by Voljin. Thrall also became a big part of this revolution. Garrosh was seen as evil once again BY HIS OWN PEOPLE (or who he thought were his people) and in retaliation to this, he created a ‘new horde’. Even though it was Voljin and Thrall who started a revolution in the first place; they turned their backs on Garrosh when he probably needed the most support at the time.

He probably trusted Malkorok the most at this time, along with Nazgrim, they were both loyal to Garrosh and stuck by him no matter what, they (specifically malkorok) killed people who disagreed with garrosh’s actions, as they did not want him to be hurt.

5.pandaren artifacts are powerful and Garrosh wanted to put them to good use.

Garrosh knew that the pandaren artifacts

Were powerful, and wanted to put them to good use, for the benefit of his own people, the people that sided with him, the people who didn’t decide to stab him in the back, so that they could rid Azeroth from the alliance (which was his ultimate goal). Garrosh was smart for doing this, he used the heart of Yashaarj to collect power from it and use it to his advantage.

(This is still up for debate but ive seen people mention it, so I’ll bring it up briefly.)

The heart of Yashaarj, just like any old god related artifact, will corrupt the mind of the user. Garrosh, being as insecure as he is, was effected by this, the heart of Yashaarj specifically is like a really demotivating audio hallucination. Saying things like “no one is coming to save you..”

now imagine how Garrosh might’ve felt having stuff like that repeated to him over and over again? Not fun.

6.Thrall is an arsehole, the seaquel!

After Garroshs trial, he was deemed innocent by the august celestrials. But before this was announced to him, he was taken to an alternative reality of draenor by a member of the bronze dragonflight, to prove his worth and stop the legion invasion. He does not do this because he wanted to see his dad, he doe’s however, warn his dad about mannaroths blood, and what it will bring if he does decide to drink it, This was effective and we end up with a alternate reality where grommash does not drink Mannaroth’s blood, woop woop!

So Garrosh lived quite peacefully in Nagrand again, with his dad, he probably felt happy for once in his life; at peace. While he was doing this, the iron horde had started to invade azeroth, possibly manipulated by guldan. Their goal was to use guldans power to hold the portal open, so they could invade and take more land for their people. This is just what orcs do, as ive said before.

Thrall hears of this and Immediately thinks it is garrosh who is doing this. Despite him having nothing to do with the attack. (apart from being a part of the iron horde?) Thrall and others go through the dark portal to stop the attack, fair enough right? They managed to destroy the portal and stop the attack, and he could’ve stopped right there, there was nothing wrong with that.

Thrall decided to find and kill Garrosh, even though he had been minding his own business, in nagrand with this clan, where he actually felt welcomed and appreciated; something he hadn’t felt in a very long time. Thrall manages to track down garrosh in nagrand, finds him, and challenges him to a Mak’gora, a traditional orc duel where the rules are as follows:

1. No body armour worn

2. Only 1 weapon should be used

3. Each participant must have at least 1 whitness

The Mak’gora took place at the throne of the elements, Thrall chose to have it there on purpose. There was no witnesses, and as far as i know nobody lived nearby.

The fight starts off a fair one, apart from the lack of witnesses. Garrosh seems to be winning and thrall, knowing he would die, decided to be an absolute coward and cheat. Garrosh, while this fight was happening seems clearly hurt by what thrall has done to him, mentally. He is hurt by the fact that Thrall put him in a high ranking position that he did not want to be in, in the first place, he sees Thrall as nothing but a traitor; and so he should.

Thrall uses the elements against Garrosh, forcing him down so he is unable to attack, or defend himself, he then dismisses Garrosh’s upset, by stating that he was the one who brought it apon himself- Thrall kills garrosh, leaving his body there.

Thrall manages to break Every. Single. Rule.

It was an unfair fight from the start, There was a reason there was no witnesses, so that Thrall could paint himself in a good light. He was wearing (what looks like) full body armour, and used id say about 4 different weapons? Elemental powers count as weapons.

Thrall must’ve known how a Mak’gora works, considering he is an orc. There is no excuse for it, the fact that he chose to have the fight in a discrete location just proves my point, why would he do that other than to dishonourably murder Garrosh? It was a dishonourable kill however you look at it, because of the nature of the Fight.

i am relating to SO much of what im reading on ur blog rn. do not get me wrong - i LOVE ttpd and love taylor. it's kind of one of those things that's like "always have, always will." im always going to be so grateful for her work and this community, and as i said - i AM loving the music rn!

BUT. she feels different, and feels so far away. i know we are not owed her time or attention, but when you've built your entire brand on fan connection and being "different" than any other celebrity in that regards, it's going to feel off and unexpected when it suddenly stops with no explanation. most of her little interaction is on tiktok, which is half the time not with actual fans, but rather anyone who uses her song in the background (which a lot of times is influencers!) ppl say "yeah but now she does so much more for us" .... yeah... so many new THINGS to buy.

i also think she's at a place where she KNOWS she is on top of the world rn (good for her!) but it has come with a complex - she knows now she doesnt NEED to be close with her fans, doesnt NEED to use her platform for good, doesnt NEED to take constructive criticism - because the gp likes her enough to where she doesn't even need a strong centralized fanbase. as of rn, no opposition can make a dent in her fame or income and she knows it. and it feels icky, and honestly makes her feel less human (which is interesting, because the ttpd is imo some of the most raw humanlike work)

the new social circle is off too. i dont hate travis, and i was happy for her, but have come to like him less and less since realizing he's a bit sleazy and is kind of only liberal for pay. he's publicly made r*pe jokes and xenophobic comments in the past couple years (NOT from 15 year old tweets! recent!) his dad is also super transphobic and mahomes brother is a charged SAer yet taylor gallavants w both of them. travis just seems like an oaf and while im glad she had something more easy and fun, it's telling that there's been a lack of backlash towards him when he's exhibited the same behavior as matty and the only things taylor could write ab him were sports and high school references. i hate to even touch on her personal life like this but god forbid this is a forever thing :/ omg this is a lot but yeah im glad we're having this convo

I know i might sound egotistical, but i don't like how any official art (the art posted by cc) of alastair carstairs looks.

I will 100% reblog an Alastair Carstairs fanart that maybe doesn't fit my vision of him, i wont criticise it or anything bc they did this from their heart. They were passionate about it. I will shut my mouth and appreciate the hell out of it. Also i know that my fanarts will also clash with some ppl's perception of him

But, I actually hate coming across official art of Thomas and Alastair, here are my reasons,

> the proportions are always wack on these two specifically for some reason. If y'all remember thr scarf one, i remember trying to figure out the proportions there, Alastair's arms were short and it just irks me. Bc ppl are paid for this. This isn't a fanart, this is a Commission prolly, and it just takes me out of the whole piece immediately.

>Thomas doesnt have a single, solo art that actually looks nice. One that i actually like started to bother me for some reason, so i tracked the proportions and his forehead was too big, and just the whole thing tuned me off from the piece.

He also has a chariot (?) fanart, (him on top of a chariot) and im sorry to say that was one of the fucking ugliest of Official art of thomas, his whole thing was off, it was a perspective drawing, and it just failed, his head looked to big, his face was stiffer than wood, his body' perspective made my brain hurt, it was just not good.

Constructive criticism: Frozen 1 and 2 (and a bonus)

Ah yes, Frozen 1 and 2. In 1844 Hans Christian Andersen wrote Snedronningen ("The Snow Queen"), a fairytale centering on the struggle between good and evil as experienced by Gerda and her friend, Kai. Unlike Andersen's other stories, The Snow Queen was written in a novel-styled narrative, being divided into seven chapters. In the 2000s, Disney, the IP devouring mega company, no stranger to adapting public domain fairytales and milking as much money from them as possible, saw money, I mean animated musical potential, in The Snow Queen and gave it the old Disney treatment. There were some problems with coming up with a story that would work, but after a while in development hell the writers found a way. in 2013, "Frozen", the one-word titled movie adaptation of Andersens fairytale premiered and was a big hit at the box office. It was good but also a bit overrated, overhyped and, because of this, also overhated. Criticism caused by overexposure to supercatchy songs aside, the movie had a few shortcomings caused by it being written in the eleventh hour. The backstory was a little rushed. Most of the songs were used up in the first act leaving us with only three in the second act, and only one of those three songs helped move the plot forward (The reprise of "For the first time in forever") the two others were just musical deadweight. Elsa and Annas relationship was the most interesting part of the movie but more screentime was spent on Anna and her journey with Kristoff who, while still likable, was not as interesting as Elsa. Because Frozen made a ridiculous amount of money a sequel was made, and it too made a ridiculous amount of money. Personally I like the second more than the first one. Wouldnt call it better than the first, but I wouldnt call it worse either. Like the first one it was carried mostly by its musical numbers and this time it didnt use up all its best songs in the first act. And like the first it had a few shortcomings in the story department. Now, Ive talked about Frozen before and even given it a little constructive criticism in my editorial "More thoughts on Frozen" (A few things that I said in that one are repeated here). But in this editorial I have a few more things to say, not only about the first Frozen, but also its sequel. (Something you probably could have guessed from the title.) So now, without further ado, if I could wish upon a star that I could travel back in time before this movie was made and tweak the script a little, heres how I would change it.

Frozen Any explanation for Elsas ice powers Im not one of those who felt that Elsas ice powers needed to be explained in the first movie. However, in Frozen 2, when they explained the origin of her powers there, it just felt like an afterthought. Frozen 2 felt more like it was about Elsa and Anna cleaning up their grandfathers mess than any examination of what gave Elsa her powers. So I would explain her ice powers in the first movie, and I would do it like this: When Pabbie asks Agnarr and Idunna: "Born with it or cursed with it?" and they answer that she was born with, it the other trolls gasps and whisper among eachother: "A frostborn!" Now, lets jump forward to the part where Anna tries to convince Elsa to bring back summer. Elsa sings: "I cant" and accidentally ices Anna in the heart. Kristoff runs into the room to check on Anna, sees Elsa, gasps and says "A frostborn!" Jump forward to the part where Kristoff is taking Anna to see the trolls. Anna talks to Kristoff and asks. "What was it that you called my sister earlier?" And Kristoff tells her what a frostborn is. Once every hundred years the planets are aligned on the wintersolstice, and if a child is born on that day, at midnight, it becomes a frostborn. Someone with powers of ice and snow. Hes heard the stories (from the trolls), but he never thought he would see one in real life.

Conceal dont feel/ Elsas childhood* In a way I defended this earlier (mostly because I couldnt come up with a better idea myself) but I think I have an idea now on how it could have been done differently. The whole "Conceal dont feel" could be something that Elsa herself came up with in her grown up years. Her parents could try to teach her to use it responsibly instead of bottling it all up. In the scene where Elsa is given her gloves they could first be lying on a book called "The magic feather" (a subtle reference to Dumbo, hinting that the gloves are just placebos) And then later in "Do you want to build a snowman": The King is looking out through a window, rubbing his hand as if it is hurt, worrying about Elsa. The Queen is looking through a book and reacts as if shes found the answer. She shows the book to the king. Both of them have expressions of joy in their faces. (She found the solution to Elsas problem in an ancient text in the book, which leads to them going away on a travel to find it which leads to their ship capsizing in the storm). Later in the movie, before she wakes up in her cell in Arendelle, Elsa has a flashback to a day where she was 12-years old. Her father is touching the palm of her hand with his own as a form of trust exercise. Ice starts forming on his hand. He keeps holding on as a way to say: "Its just ice, theres nothing wrong with your gift, its not evil." Elsa allows herself to smile. Then she has a moment of doubt, her ice gets colder, its hurting her father but he refuses to let go and says in a calm voice: "Its OK Elsa, dont be afraid. You can control it". But the cold becomes too strong and he pulls back his hand in pain. The Queen wants to comfort Elsa but Elsa is afraid and distances herself from her, fearing that shell hurt her. Still wanting to comfort her daughter the Queen tells Elsa: "Its not your fault." But Elsa is too afraid, too afraid of her own powers and backs into the shadows (figuratively AND literally). Their parents dying may be sad but seeing them trying their hardest to help her, and their struggles leading to their own death would be even sadder. It would help make us emotionally invested in the characters and through them, the movie itself. Yes, I know, this was retroactively added in the sequel. But it would have helped the plot of the first movie if it had been revealed earlier.

Fixer upper At one point Kristoff tells Anna that you cant get engaged to someone you just met and she asks him if hes some kind of love-expert. Kristoff replies that he knows some love-experts. So we can assume that the trolls taught him that you cant get engaged to someone you just met. When they meet the trolls, what is the first thing they do? They tell Anna that she should get engaged to this guy she just met. Thats a problem I have with this song, it contradicts what Kristoff told us that they taught him. And also: its a little too upbeat and not a very good 11 o'clock number. (11 o'clock number is a theatre term for a big, show-stopping song that occurs late in the second act of a two-act musical, in which a major character, often the protagonist, comes to an important realization. Examples include "So Long Dearie" from Hello Dolly and "Cabaret" from Cabaret. It was so named because in the days when musical performances would start at 8:30 p.m., this song would occur around 11:00 p.m.) Source: Wikipedia What I would do: At first Anna and Kristoff talks to the trolls about Elsa and her powers, which leads to the trolls starting to sing. The song is about Elsa (who should have gotten a little more screentime) and about how she is right now at a crossroad. She could stay good, she could turn evil, they dont know, it`s up to her. The song should be similar in style and tone to "The Misty mountains cold" from the Hobbit. And then Anna grabs her chest in pain. Pabbie tells them that "only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart" and you know how the rest goes.

On the fence: Lack of music in the last part* Someone I know pointed out that there was no more musical numbers in the last quarter of the movie. Aladdin ended with a short reprise of "A whole new world", Beauty and the beast ended with a short reprise of "Beauty and the beast". This movie could have ended with Elsa and Anna singing a short reprise of "For the first time in forever" as they are ice skating around together. Just sayin`.

Frozen 2

Water having memory

Water doesn`t actually have memory, but let`s say that it does in the Frozen universe.

It`s still not a good idea for the plot because of the super-expositional ice sculptures that telegraphs important plot points miles in advance.

Lose the "water having memory" bit.

Plot

The plot would still be mostly the same but with a few differences.

When Elsa goes outside while singing "Into the unknown" she goes down to the ocean, freezes the water`s surface and walks on the ocean while singing. After the song ends she reaches her goal and finds what the mysterious voice wanted to show her: On a beach lies what`s left of an Arendellian ship. At closer inspection she realizes that it`s her parents ship. She finds the waterproof log that reveals that her parents were trying to find Ahtohallan. Elsa gets ready for her journey, Anna finds out about her journey and convinces Elsa to let her join, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf are dragged in as well and the next morning they leave Arendelle.

(Note that in this version Arendelle has not been evacuated, the people are still in the city.)

Then things happen pretty much the same way they did in the movie, they reach the magic forest, meet the Northuldra etc, etc. The Northuldras call Elsa a "Frostborn", most of (if not all) the previous frostborns were Northuldras. Elsa is the first to not be one.

When Kristoff sees the dam he does not say that if it broke it would be the end of Arendelle. (I don`t want him to put that thought in Anna`s head.)

In the scene where Elsa talks to Honeymaren she (Honeymaren) says that the old songs mentioned something about a fifth spirit and "a sacrifice" but she`s not clear on the details. "Only Ahtohallan knows."

Later Elsa, Anna and Olaf head north while Kristoff and Sven stay behind with Ryder and the rest of the Northuldra. Instead of finding their parents ship (since Elsa already found it in the first act) Elsa, Anna and Olaf reach the stormy sea that they have to cross to reach Ahtohallan. Elsa, fearing for Anna`s safety sends her and Olaf away in an ice boat. (It was her plan to send them to a lake that they passed on the way to the ocean, but Anna makes the boat miss the lake and land in the river with the sleeping rock giants. They later end up in the cave.)

Elsa tames the Nokk, crosses the ocean, finds Ahtohallan, sings "Show yourself" with a vision of her mother and all that, but she doesn`t turn into the fifth spirit... yet. She enters the room with the memories and sees things that happened and people who lived in the past. (In this version however, the memories are not made of snow, they are ordinary, transparent, blue-ish ghosts.) She sees Anna and Olaf and where they were a few minutes ago. She goes too far into Ahtohallan, sees her grandfather killing the Northuldra leader and starts to sink through the floor (instead of freezing to ice).

(Remember what the song said? "But not too far or you’ll be drowned.")

Elsa tries to escape but can`t, she sends a message to the place where she knows that Olaf and Anna were a few minutes ago. Anna and Olaf get her message, Olaf gets weaker, they realize something must have happened to Elsa, Anna has one final warm hug with Olaf, sings "The next right thing" and prepares herself for what she must do.

She wakes up the ice giants, gets them to chase her and throw big rocks at the dam. Mattias tries to stop her but she can`t hear him over the sound of the destruction. When the dam is destroyed Mattias tells Anna that he tried to warn her that the river leads to Arendelle. (Remember what I said earlier, in this version Arendelle has not been evacuated.)

Meanwhile at Ahtohallan: Remember what Honeymaren said earlier: something about the fifth spirit and "a sacrifice". Because of Elsa`s sacrifice, Ahtohallan has deemed her worthy to be the fifth spirit. She comes back to life, gets her fifth spirit outfit, emerges out of the floor, and rides on the Nokk to save Arendelle.

At Arendelle the people hear the flood coming nearer, they start to evacuate but the flood is coming too fast. Fortunately Elsa arrives in time and saves the people. Anna is reunited with Elsa, Kristoff finally, properly, proposes to Anna and Elsa recreates Olaf.

Olaf: "Hi, I`m Olaf! And I like warm hugs!"

Anna: "Olaf!"

Olaf: "Do I know you?"

Anna: "Olaf. It`s me!"

Olaf: "Aha! ... and you are...?"

Anna: "..."

Anna realizes that this is not the old Olaf. He`s new, with none of the old Olaf`s memories.

Anna: "I`m... Anna. And this is Elsa, Kristoff and Sven."

Olaf: "Nice to meet you all!"

Anna becomes the new Queen of Arendelle, Elsa abdicates and lives in the forest with the Northuldra, Lieutenant Mattias returns to Arendelle and is promoted to General under Anna. A statue is unveiled of a younger Agnarr and Iduna to honor their memory and the new unity between Arendelle and the Enchanted Forest. Anna sends a message to Elsa via Gale, inviting her to come visit them. After recieving and reading the message, Elsa gets up on the Nokk and rides towards Arendelle.

I changed the source of Elsa`s power because, as I said earlier, tying the origin of her ice powers to Ahtohallan and the four elements felt like an afterthought. Also: notice that I wrote that if a child is born at midnight on the winter solstice once every 100 years.

You probably wonder: but what if a child is not born under those particular cirumstances?

Then I guess they`ll just have to wait for the next time the planets align. It`s not like there have to be a frostborn every 100 years, it`s not like it`s part of a great plan. Being a frostborn is not a requirement for being the fifth spirit (but it is an advantage).

What I`m saying here is that I`m not a big fan of the chosen one narrative. (Don`t hate it but I don`t like it either.) It just feels like it lowers the stakes.

This movie`s theme was about change, so it feels a little weak that they kill Olaf but then bring him back again exactly as he was before, once again, it has really low stakes.

"But it`s a kids movie" some might say. Yes, but kids movies can, and have, dealt with serious issues like death in the past and handled it in a mature way.

Of course I understand that Disney would never kill off a marketable character from one of their most profitable cash-cows, atleast not permanently. That`s why I suggest that they do like Marvel did with Groot and Gamorra, kill them, then bring them back, but not the same as they were before.

This would of course mean that there would be no post-credits scene where Olaf retells the story to Marshmallow and the snowgies, since:

A: Olaf wouldn`t remember anything that happened before his resurrection

and

B: Marsh and the snowgies would have disappeared just like Olaf did when Elsa temporarily died.

But if I had to put in a post-credits scene then it could show... I don´t know... Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf sitting around a table eating shawarma.

Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022) Now, I have to confess, I haven`t actually seen this movie, but I have seen several videos on youtube describing the plot and there are two things that I have some opinions about.

Gadget and Zipper having kids together Gadget and Zipper? Im not feeling it. Id lose that.

Peter Pan as the villain Didnt like what they did with Peter Pan for two reasons.

1: Because of what happened to Bobby Driscoll, and many other child stars in showbiz.

2: Not aging is not just a Peter Pan thing but a toon thing in general. How come Peter Pan, the boy who never grows up, is the only toon that ages when no other toon does? Im sure the writers thought they were very clever when they wrote that, but besides the whole Bobby Driscoll (and many other child stars) thing it just doesnt make sense. Not even in this movies universe. My solution: Make Smee the bad guy. It works because A: Hes a pirate so it fits the whole piracy thing.

B: I can easily see Smee being the kind of henchman whos more clever and dangerous than he appears and who could totally lead a criminal organisation. And just like Judge Doom in "Who framed Roger Rabbit?" he could disguise himself as a live-action human, maybe as a woman? (Super-realistic mtf mask disguises usually make movies better, or at least memorable.

And that`s how I would do it.

My original plan was to make one big editorial where I give constructive criticism to not only these three movies, but also Raya and the last Dragon, Scoob, Space Jam: A new legacy and Wish but I felt that it would be hell of a lot to write in one editorial. So I decided to divide it up. Space Jam 2 and Scoob gets to share one editorial, as do Raya and Wish. So now you know what to expect from me, when it comes to literature, for the next couple of weeks (or more likely, months).

It is of course very easy for me to write these because I have the luxury of hindsight. And unlike the filmmakers I don`t have a movie studio breathing down my neck, forcing in unnecessary changes and pressuring me to get it made before a deadline.

Why do I write these? For several reasons. Im nitpicky, sometimes the movies I criticize arent bad, I just like my own ideas better, sometimes the movies I critize are bad, I care about good storytelling and it`s a fun excerize in creativity and script doctoring. But also because I have a lot of of free time.

hm.

like don't get me wrong it's cool not being straight up bullied, but eeeeeh... being "one of the good ones" isn't really a position i like either? like i know half what they say is irrational venting that doesn't reflect their beliefs and the actions they think through, and the other half is like... bad but a work in progress and i don't want to be an asshole because nobody is perfect, especially not me, and cutting ties with them won't be any constructive.

but.

that being said.

it's starting to feel a little weird when they're mocking people behind their backs for like. not being stylish. being ugly. having trouble socializing. being fat (or not super thin and attractive anyway). having big boobs. being guys. being virgins. being bad at sex. not being amazing at school. etc etc. and uh. yknow. it feels very. backhanded. sometimes they compliment me on like, my outfit or something, and the same day they bring up a time where i was dressed like crap like, mocking me.

and i let it slide because. yknow. 99% sure most of that is caused by their own insecurity. and it doesn't happen all the time over everything, but they're not like, dead set, you can have a discussion with them and say otherwise. i try to gently counteract and bring other people's legitimacy into the conversation, without being fully frontally attacking their point or dismissive of what they think. but idk i feel like at least one friend has entered a kind of "us VS the world" dynamic and i'm... not super comfortable with letting that fester like i have so far. but on the other hand we're all ex bullied kids so im. very much not happy with the solution to just take distance. bc we're... attached at the hip pretty much. neither of us has many friends, and i dont know how she would react, and i don't know what ripple effect it would have on this social circle and how it'd affect me. but i can't imagine that to be a walk in the park. and i don't know how, if it's even possible, to make it as constructive and helpful and painless as i can make it to be. which obviously involves really thinking through what i feel, trying to see everybody's pov, what's my opinion and what's fact, etc. it's so fucking complicated. i'm aware that's the right thing to do, but im. lost on how, how to evaluate if i did it the best i could, etc. i don't want to just tell myself "well im aware i should take everything into account, so that counts as doing it" and call it a day, like i'm susceptible to do.

anyway. i've really said things i'm not proud of lately, but i don't know if it's, like, a me problem. maybe i just don't like venting by expressing anger (most of the time). maybe im too literal for this kind of floating irrationality that's just there to pass the nerves on and doesn't affect actions.

but also they do act on that. and they do sometimes talk behind each other's back, like criticize's someone's behavior the second they've left. and i do it too. and i recognize this is not a horrible rotten behavior or smth like that, we can't be confrontational, or pedagogic, or some shit, about any topic we might be right or wrong or completely subjective about all the time. and we can still discuss that with other people. but idk. it's a very... small social circle. i don't know where should the balance lie.

wondering when exactly having friends is supposed to start being fun, because for now... i mean, maybe it's the depression sucking the joy out of the good moments and leaving me with nothing but the bad, but i'm kinda tired of trying to play switzerland to this entire school.

i don't want to be the person who says all mental illnesses need support and love uwu and then turn my back when my friends are acting irrationally or unpleasantly, but also... eeeeeeh i'm starting (and by starting i mean it's been like a year at least and then i wipe my memory every time i go home from the hangout) anyway i'm starting to feel a little. put off by the drama, and this mess of interpersonal relationships where your meta-friends barely can be in the same room together, and the constant talking behind backs, and the. well. the irrationality.

i know they're aware. at least for the most part. that they're talking shit for something that people can't be blamed for. and they're just taking out their nerves. and they don't genuinely believe that X or Y is an evil asshole who wants them dead. and i don't want to be all 🤓☝ bc it's important to vent frustration. but like. i never know when to try to intervene when they start actually acting upon this shit. like they have a point oftentimes, but they go about it in... an immature way? but, well, can i say i'm really doing better?

and idk. i know this is never going to be a fully healthy non-toxic friendship. we're older teens and young adults, who were all mentally ill and/or socially maladapted pretty severely at some point. we're all starting over from age 14 basically, except with the decisional power of a legal adult. but i think we can try to make the most of what we have, and try to get better progressively. we can't wait until we're fully formed optimal humans to be reintegrated, it doesn't happen without trial and error. and i genuinely want to do my best to be the best friend, best acquintance, best classmate, for the people around me. both for me and for them. so it's just... really hard to navigate. to know where to draw the line in the sand. to know what steps to take when something is appaling to me.

i don't know. shit is difficult and my friends are mean and i don't know how i am and i want to cry.

fantastic mr fox: humanising animals, animalising men, and an exploration of masculine identity

‘this story is too predictable.’ / ‘predictable? really? what happens in the end?’ / ‘in the end, we all die. unless you change.’

mr fox, the titular character of wes anderson’s 2009 stop-motion adaptation of roald dahl’s children’s book, is a portrait of two conflicting manifestations of masculinity. he is built to demonstrate the crossover between tradition and modernity, between wild and civilised. characterised as a charming gentleman, almost renowned for his recklessness, mr fox combines his undomesticated instincts with a carefully crafted domestic life. he appears to spend more time manufacturing a perfect home and family than he does actually participating in it. the events of the movie serve to strip away his facade and present both the audience and protagonist with a harsh reality to deal with: the juxtaposing aspects of his identity that he must contend with in order to survive his situation. these aspects are demonstrated through the use of anthropomorphic animals. in essence, the text attempts to convey the message that while you can associate your actions with animal or human traits in order to characterise and frame them, you cannot change their value and their consequences. it serves as a critique of how the nature of male identity is exploited to shunt responsibility, and the movie specifically promotes a more collectivist mentality.

there are four key scenes that mark mr fox’s journey in terms of his identity. initially, we first see his identity openly questioned once he has moved into a new home (a large and expensive tree), just prior to him revealing his ‘master plan’ to kylie, who becomes his assistant of sorts. he asks, ‘why a fox? why not a horse, or a beetle, or a bald eagle? i’m saying this more as, like, existentialism, you know? who am i? and how can a fox ever be happy without, you’ll forgive the expression, a chicken in its teeth?’ he attributes his identity with the ability to fulfil his base desires, like he could in his youth. aspects of his later life such as employment, family, and safety restrict his ability and leaves him feeling untethered from himself. the movie opens with his youthful vibrance and recklessness, and is quickly contrasted with his dissatisfaction with his job, home, and life in general.

having been moved out of the hole and into an expensive tree, mrs fox asks her husband:

constructing the ideal domestic space for himself and his family does not satisfy mr fox and he yearns for more, which is where is existentialism and ‘master plan’ come into play. domesticity was never going to satisfy mr fox, as he yearns for something youthful and risky and dazzling, adjectives not usually applied to a quiet and content home life. the consequences of this dissatisfaction are drastic and almost immediate.

soon, having been forced out of his new home and underground by an attack from the farmers, mr fox is faced with a situation he cannot charm his way out of. he attempts to apologise to his son and recite a speech to raise the morale of his family, and both of these attempts are shut down by those around him. the facade of his elaborate home, his monologues, even his suits, are abruptly stripped away leaving him with only his actions which he cannot charm his way out of. the reality is that he and his family, his neighbourhood, is stuck underground with no means of food as a result of his selfish actions. this prompts yet another key scene; his argument with felicity, which begins with her viciously hissing and scratching his face.

predictable? really? what happens in the end?

in the end, we all die. unless you change.

mrs fox’s physical attack on her husbands face serves as a display of genuine animal ferocity, making mr fox’s claim to being a ‘wild animal’ appear as a flimsy excuse for his behaviour. his chicken theft, which he was insistent upon regardless of the consequences, was motivated not by animal instincts but a selfish desire to feel a particular version of his own masculinity. disregarding the safety of his family actually seems like a natural byproduct of his master plans because he is trying to reclaim his masculinity from a time before his family existed, and in his eyes, restricted him. the very recent loss of his tail, combined with this conversation with his wife, is a harsh reality check for mr fox in terms of the dangers of his masculinity.

the audience sees the outcome of this conversation later on, in the waterfall scene. here mr fox admits to his insecurities and suggests sacrificing himself to the farmers to save the local community.

the difference between this admission to animalism and the one from his argument with felicity is that here, both parties gain some acceptance of their animalism without using it as an excuse for their behaviour. the inclusion of others in animalism – ‘we’re’ wild animals, rather than ‘i am’ a wild animal – contributes to illustrate how wildness is not specific to masculinity. it is not femininity vs masculinity but animals vs man.

the movie also questions the nature of an animal in the final key scene known as ‘canis lupus.’ wes Anderson referred to this scene as ‘the reason im making this movie.’ throughout the movie, mr fox alludes to his ‘phobia of wolves’ and shuts down any conversation surrounding them:

scared? no, i have a phobia of them!...a wolf? what’s with all the wolf talk? can we give it a rest for once?

arguably, these reactions are representative of mr fox’s aversion to competitive masculinity. he shuts down any opportunity for those around him to discuss something he sees as more masculine than himself in order to feel secure in his own masculinity. critic shana mlawski argues that ‘the wolf is described as the wildest, most frightening, and yet most beautiful creature in the world. mr fox fears the wolf and yet wants to be exactly like him. we can thus say that mr fox fears pure, wild masculinity yet also yearns to own it himself.’ the scene holds an eerie familiarity to it; mr fox is recognising something that he thought would be a reflection of himself, but the wild animal is no longer familiar to him anymore. he now accepts his role as a husband and a father and no longer fights to overtly express his animalism in the same way as the wolf. the most he can offer the wolf is raising his fist in solidarity. he calls out to the wolf, ‘i have a phobia of wolves!’, which is an interesting moment to admit this in. it’s his acceptance that allows him to admit this. the scene is entirely compromised of male characters: mr fox, kristofferson, ash, kylie and the wolf. mr fox’s admission to his fear allows him to be vulnerable in front of these people he cares about, and to use this as a teaching moment for the young boys.

here mr fox openly admits his admiration for someone else’s masculinity in front of others without showing signs of his own insecurity. he can admire the wolf for what he is without seeing him as competition. the scene allows the audience to see and directly compare two forms of masculinity and animalism, and to understand that there is no one true expression of either of those traits. the wolf has connotations of violence and ferocity, whereas mr fox and his suit and display of multilingualism are entirely modern, but both are masculine animals who are valid in their own right. either way, both animals rely on violence for survival at times.

kupfer frames violence in three ways: symbolically, structurally and as a narrative essential. there are various forms of violence within this narrative, namely mr fox killing chickens and squabs, and the three farmers’ attack on the animal community. symbolically, mr fox’s chicken theft is attributed to his masculinity. while it is often presented as thought-out ‘master plans’, his desire to enact this violence in the first place supposedly stems from his ‘wild animal’ instincts. he associates a time where he felt secure in his masculinity with his actions at the time (violence). structurally, we see the potential for this violence in the opening scene, where mr fox takes his wife chicken-stealing and they become trapped. he is stuck in a fox trap with his wife when he receives the news of his impending fatherhood, a relatively obvious symbol for his view of fatherhood in general. the news of his wife’s pregnancy disrupts his ability to continue stealing chickens, not just on this specific occasion but through the coming years as well. mr fox appears to view family life as an unfulfilling, less raw expression of his masculinity, and is shown to be wholly dissatisfied with his life.

the violence on the farmers’ behalf is almost always in reaction to mr fox’s violence, already giving it a structural framing. boggis, bunch and bean are referred to early on in the film as the ‘meanest, nastiest and ugliest farmers on the side of the river.’ their violence against mr fox and subsequently the local animal community is an attempt to gain back power and status. mr fox’s actions are “humiliating’ and the local news coverage of this exchange between the farmers and animals raises the stakes as now the reputation of these farmers is on the line as well as their power. violence here serves as a narrative essential because it drives mr fox into a situation that forces him to confront his issues with masculinity and splitting between his animal and human traits, giving the text/movie a fulfilling arc. violence is

introduced as inherently masculine, but is decoupled from masculinity by the ending. mrs fox also plays a small but significant role in this; at various moments in the movie she exhibits her own displays of aggression equal in intensity to the men around her, suggesting to the audience that forms of violence should be categorised as human vs animal rather than male vs female. examples of this behaviour include her clawing at her husband’s face, and a parallel between her and a male human character wherein they both connect two wires and shout ‘contact!’, causing an explosion. while this moment is brief, it highlights a distinct difference between animals being violent and men. humans’ aggression is driven by the need for power, whereas that of animals is driven by the need for survival. the man paralleled with felicity only sparked the explosion to destroy mr fox’s home and assert the dominance of the three farmers, while mrs fox used the same form of violence to enact a plan to save her nephew’s life. petey’s song even alludes to this sentiment: ‘well he stole, and he cheated, and he lied just to survive.’

mr fox’s tail becomes a symbol of power; bean wears it as a necktie, and mr fox feels emasculated by his loss.

the use of the tail as a necktie is a symbol of the power that mr fox and the farmers end up jostling to achieve: at first it belongs to mr fox, then to the farmers, and is eventually reclaimed once more by the fox.

when he reclaims his tail towards the end of the movie, it has been torn to shreds and needs ‘dry cleaning twice a week’ to maintain itself. this can be interpreted as a symbol for his evolved definitions of masculinity and power: his masculinity is no longer defined by impressing people or stealing or killing chickens, but in the quiet satisfaction of having a family. the final scene reveals that mrs fox is pregnant again, and instead of her glowing and her husband giving an awkward grin like in the opening scene, both of the spouses ‘glow.’ the structural framing of these pregnancy reveals bookending the events of the movie allows anderson to demonstrate mr fox’s growth and change in his priorities. the domestic life appears to be enough for him, and he no longer seems to find it emasculating,

what stands out as particularly modern about mr fox is how he unconsciously separates himself from both his wildness and his suburban self in his effort to combine them. he uses his ‘wildness’ as an excuse for his violence and selfishness, but is ultimately not willing to participate in truly wild forms of violence and selfishness, such has hunting. his chicken thefts always include infiltrating a human site, like boggis, bunce and bean’s farms, and the fun of it is in outsmarting them, rather than finding those animals himself out in the wild. the local animal community essentially functions as we would expect a rural village occupied by humans to function: everyone knows everyone, there is one local school and various small and quaint homes. while the setting reflects anderson’s signature style, it is also reflective of dahl’s framing of the community in the original text.

mr fox comes across as an individual who believes himself to be above the somewhat backward mentality of his village, that he is the most civilised and dazzling and original, and he exaggerates these traits in himself out of insecurity: ‘if they arent dazzled and blown away and kind of intimidated by me, then i dont feel good about myself.’this is also reflected in his consistent ‘trademark’, his whistle-and-click combination that he uses to set himself apart from other foxes. his home is also a reflection of this:

yes and no.

this insecurity and desire for outsider approval and individuality is inherently human, a quality of his that cannot really be associated with his animalised parts. this precarious sense of identity and self doubt separates him from his ‘wildness’ as it stands, which is only intensified by the fact that he compensates by exaggerating his human traits in order to be liked and feel worthy, as those are the traits he believes have the most value. towards the end of mr fox’s character arc, he is forced to admit that his need for external validation is flawed and unsustainable. when the façade of carefully constructed grandeur is literally washed away by bean, he is left with nothing but his actions and their implications for those around him. foxy reconciles with the relative insignificance of an identity based on other’s perceptions of you when rat dies soon after, reacting to the suggestion that he redeemed himself last minute by revealing ash’s location:

redemption? sure. but in the end, he’s just another dead rat in a garbage pail behind a chinese restaurant.

this moment is also used to inadvertently allow the audience to evaluate the significance of motivation and intention to the value of an action. although rat did reveal useful information to aid the group in saving Kristofferson, mr fox recognises that he only did so because he realised he could not win this fight.

mr fox’s own motivations throughout the movie have devalued his actions as they have mostly been self-serving. as his motivations evolve to centre around his family, he gains the perspective to understand why one’s intentions are so important. while intention does not entirely dictate how good one’s actions are, they certainly characterise the person who’s action it is. your actions have value and consequences as they are, and that cannot be changed by dressing them up or animalising them to distance yourself.

in essence, fantastic mr fox is a lesson in the value of including those around you in your mentality and worldview. it paints masculinity as something that is inherent and complex in nature, but promotes the idea that it is not stuck with its traditional connotations of violence and egoism. mr fox’s emotional development throughout the text mostly centres around his own insecurities surrounding his masculinity and how that causes him to overcompensate in ways that harm those around him. by the end he recognises that more tame and domestic forms of masculinity are just as valid, and that basing his self-worth on how ‘dazzled’ his peers are by him is immature and not constructive. his family now liberates him and allows him to be vulnerable rather than restricting how he feels he can express himself, and as a unit the animals beat the farmers in their game of power-seeking. mr fox recognises and appreciates both his human and animal traits, without using them as a means to excuse his behaviour or to feel bad about his worth.

Situation one where Jack just goes absolutely bat shit insane and decides that fuck it. He's gone off the deep end. Joins murdoc, even if its just to keep murdocs awful little doberman paws off mac. murdoc is routinely threatened with dismemberment, Mac is in the seventh hell that compromises of his fucked up partner who kidnapped and brainwashed him and his gone off the rails father figure who routinely hunts down Mac's REAL father in hopes of getting revenge for mac when he's not shoving a gun down murdocs throat. Mac on the other hand routinely has to resist the entirely all too tempting urge to either murder all of them. kill himself. murder the entire world and probably make it a better place. of course he does nothing because murdoc insists that his darling darling scout is ao much fun when he's high as a kite on whatever shitty concoction murdocs hell brain has thought up and so routinely screams into his hands that the universe is collapsing and that mac will collapse alongside with it, that his blood is infected with life and his tears are the cyanide needed to rid the rot of it, all of this in-between scribbling on various surfaces because he's SO close to cracking whatever it going on in his hotboxed little mind and so HELP ME if anyone distracts him-

Why garrosh Hellscream is innocent

Talking about why garrosh hellscream is innocent, because i am a garrosh supremacist and i want to talk about it :)

And also to educate the uneducated people who believe he isn’t misunderstood. I hope to educate you on this subject :]

(Please scroll away if you dont wanna listen to a big long rant :) and constructive criticism is very welcome! Give me one valid reason as to why Garrosh is a bad person after reading this, i dare you)

1. Childhood:

Garrosh grew up in draenor, living with his dad (Grommash) and moved away to Nagrand at a young age due to a redpox outbreak, which was a deadly disease that killed hundreds of orcs. Garrosh was quite depressed during his time in nagrand, as the group of orcs he lived with saw his dad as someone who brought a curse apon their people, by drinking the blood of a pit lord called mannaroth. Garrosh felt ashamed of his father’s actions and did not want to take up the leadership of his people, he stated that he would rather die than be a leader. He did not want to become like his dad and was terrified that this would happen.

Thrall, who was a good friend to Grommash, visited garrosh after his death and told him about the heroic acts he had done for his people, and how Garrosh should not be ashamed of his legacy, motivating Garrosh and encouraging him to join the horde and live on azeroth.

Grommash was never really present in Garrosh’s life, and neither was his mum, who died a few months(it is hinted?) After he was born. This could contribute to his later actions and how he sees different people in his life, for example, he looks up to Thrall as a father figure and the way he acts is highly influenced by the people around him.

All throughout garrosh’s childhood, he was in a state of depression. This did not clear off until the beginning of the cataclysm expansion, when he was made warchief by thrall, but I personally believe he just learnt to mask it, and cover it with aggression. But that is a rant for a different day :)

2. Personality:

Garrosh has an arrogant and confident personality, however this is actually proven to be Garrosh’s way of hiding his negative emotions, hr is always shown to be VERY insecure, possibly due to not having his parents around when he was younger. he is also shown to be a people pleaser due to him wanting to make his people happy, and always trying to impress those around him, even his enemies. On the other hand he has also been shown to have a caring and loyal side to him, he sticks by anyone who does the same for him. He is also empathetic as we see in the stonetalon mountains questline, where he shows anger against Krom’gar for bombing a peaceful tauren village.

Garrosh also dislikes it when things do not go his way, he always wants to do things his way, and is quite immature for his age (again due to not having a proper childhood bc of parents)

He also has problems controlling his anger (alot like his dad) and will not hesitate to shout and attack close friends, it they disagree with or disrespect him. Garrosh does not like to be looked down apon either.

And as we see during Mists of pandaria expansion, he will quite literally do anything to get what he wants.

3.Orc culture and politics in Draenor:

Orcs as a species have a very war- like culture, they live in large clans who all compete for territory and resources. If they do not do this, they will die, Its that simple. The ideas on fighting, murder, etc depends on the clan, so it is hard to say what orcs as a whole think on these subjects, other than what is and isn’t honourable. Orcs are very honour-driven, and this is a large factor of their culture. In Draenor, there is also someit isn’t as frowned upon to kill and innocent from the opposing clan as it would be in Azeroth, as their idea is that ‘the innocent could grow up and potentially be a threat in the future.’ As Garrosh himself mentions in his convo with Varok Saurfang during a meeting: and i quote “But surely you cannot think that those children were born into innocence? They would have grown up and taken arms against us!”

The murder of innocents in Draenor is not taken as seriously as it would be in Azeroth. As the politics are completely different.

Why am I speaking about this in particular you might ask? Because Garrosh GREW UP with these ideas, so he understandably would run things the way it would be done in Draenor, he didn’t know any better, no one told him about the politics in Azeroth, Thrall couldn’t help him-

HE EVEN SAYS , AS THRALL WAS MAKING HIM WARCHIEF THAT HE DIDN’T KNOW HOW THE POLITICS IN AZEROTH WORKED, AND YET THRALL STILL MADE HIM SEEM LIKE THE SCUM OF HE EARTH FOR NOT KNOWING??

4.Thrall being an arsehole:

Thrall plays a major role in why Garrosh did the things he did, and I’ll keep bringing it up time and time again. Thrall decided to leave Garrosh (who at the time was unwilling to take up the role) as warchief, while he went to Nagrand to sort out the elementals, as he felt something was wrong with them. He did this while the Horde was in the middle of a Crisis, and people were starving and almost dying of dehydration, due to Deathwing attack on Azeroth, and the horde having no available resources after repairing their capital city. Thrall left Garrosh to deal with all of this when it should’ve been a more mature leader, such as himself, Cairne, Voljin, or maybe even Baine. So, Ultimately it was Thrall who allowed everything Garrosh did, to happen, Garrosh was not his only option and had said he did not want to be the warchief, he knew he wasnt fit for this role just yet. He is not a diplomat yet thrall expects him to be one.

Garrosh knew that the horde needed resources, and thought about attacking ashenvale, the tauren living there had seen an orc attacking nearby and thought it was because of garrosh, however this was not the case, it was a different orc clan (twilight hammer) who had nothing to do with him. They told Cairne (chieftain of the Tauren at the time) who challenged Garrosh to a duel. Garrosh had his weapon ‘blessed’ by an enemy of Cairne called magirtha grimtotem, who actually poisoned Garroshs weapon instead. Garrosh was unaware of this and killed Cairne by accident.

4.opinions of others

Because Garrosh had accidentally killed Cairne, the people of the horde saw him as a traitor and did not have great opinions of him, despite this being in no way his fault. He dueled Cairne to protect his honour, as in Draenor the loser of a Duel (mak’gora) is either killed, or exiled from their clan. Garrosh knew this.

Peoples opinions of garrosh only worsened after he manabombed Theremore. This made garrosh feel quite betrayed in a way.

Alot of people also bring up the fact that garrosh threatened to kill voljin, and held hatred against him and other non orcs. Garrosh felt threatened by them. Wanna know why?

Authough thrall had said to garrosh that he could go to Voljin for help, when he needed said help, who was there for him? NO ONE.

The only one who was minorly there for him was baine, that is why garrosh seems friendly with the Tauren, he is friendly to anyone who wishes to stand with him. He was friendly with the pandaren and welcomed them happily until they sided with the alliance, (and disagreed with the whole Yashaarj situation, but ill talk about that later.)

Garrosh felt threatened by voljin, he gave him empty death threats to his face and expected him to take it? Garrosh gave him similar death threats back, demanding that he left the city, and guess what? Garrosh was the only one being seen as the ‘bad guy’ in this situation for being threatened. Garrosh booted voljin (and the trolls) out of Orgrimmar completely. And put their island under martial laws. This was only really because voljin had quite literally just threatened treason on him, And dont give me the “Oh but garrosh is bias because he favors orcs more than the other horde races!” No he is not. He treats anyone (in this case, trolls) who decides to side against him with the same respect they give him. He favors orcs, yes, but understand that THEY ARE HIS OWN PEOPLE, OF COURSE HE WOULD TRUST THEM MORE! Why would he give protection and respect to people who dont give the same in return?

(I am not trying to justify Garrosh committing war crimes here, it is a war crime whether you like it or not, but there was reasons for this, therefore it can be excused if you do not look at it from a moral perspective)

The bombing of theremore was very strategically smart!

The bombing of Theremore was not a sudden attack as some people think. The horde and alliance had been fighting over theremore for WEEKS ON END. And the innocent had been given plenty of time to flee. Garrosh knew that this was a smart thing to do, and because of the culture he was raised in, he probably did not know how angry HIS OWN PEOPLE would be if he decided to bomb theremore. As we know, the bombing of theremore is what started off the darkspear revolution, a rebellion against garrosh lead by Voljin. Thrall also became a big part of this revolution. Garrosh was seen as evil once again BY HIS OWN PEOPLE (or who he thought were his people) and in retaliation to this, he created a ‘new horde’. Even though it was Voljin and Thrall who started a revolution in the first place; they turned their backs on Garrosh when he probably needed the most support at the time.

He probably trusted Malkorok the most at this time, along with Nazgrim, they were both loyal to Garrosh and stuck by him no matter what, they (specifically malkorok) killed people who disagreed with garrosh’s actions, as they did not want him to be hurt.

5.pandaren artifacts are powerful and Garrosh wanted to put them to good use.

Garrosh knew that the pandaren artifacts

Were powerful, and wanted to put them to good use, for the benefit of his own people, the people that sided with him, the people who didn’t decide to stab him in the back, so that they could rid Azeroth from the alliance (which was his ultimate goal). Garrosh was smart for doing this, he used the heart of Yashaarj to collect power from it and use it to his advantage.

(This is still up for debate but ive seen people mention it, so I’ll bring it up briefly.)

The heart of Yashaarj, just like any old god related artifact, will corrupt the mind of the user. Garrosh, being as insecure as he is, was effected by this, the heart of Yashaarj specifically is like a really demotivating audio hallucination. Saying things like “no one is coming to save you..”

now imagine how Garrosh might’ve felt having stuff like that repeated to him over and over again? Not fun.

6.Thrall is an arsehole, the sequel!

After Garroshs trial, he was deemed innocent by the august celestrials. But before this was announced to him, he was taken to an alternative reality of draenor by a member of the bronze dragonflight, to prove his worth and stop the legion invasion. He does not do this because he wanted to see his dad, he doe’s however, warn his dad about mannaroths blood, and what it will bring if he does decide to drink it, This was effective and we end up with a alternate reality where grommash does not drink Mannaroth’s blood, woop woop!

So Garrosh lived quite peacefully in Nagrand again, with his dad, he probably felt happy for once in his life; at peace. While he was doing this, the iron horde had started to invade azeroth, possibly manipulated by guldan. Their goal was to use guldans power to hold the portal open, so they could invade and take more land for their people. This is just what orcs do, as ive said before.

Thrall hears of this and Immediately thinks it is garrosh who is doing this. Despite him having nothing to do with the attack. (apart from being a part of the iron horde?) Thrall and others go through the dark portal to stop the attack, fair enough right? They managed to destroy the portal and stop the attack, and he could’ve stopped right there, there was nothing wrong with that.

Thrall decided to find and kill Garrosh, even though he had been minding his own business, in nagrand with this clan, where he actually felt welcomed and appreciated; something he hadn’t felt in a very long time. Thrall manages to track down garrosh in nagrand, finds him, and challenges him to a Mak’gora, a traditional orc duel where the rules are as follows:

1. No body armour worn

2. Only 1 weapon should be used

3. Each participant must have at least 1 whitness

The Mak’gora took place at the throne of the elements, Thrall chose to have it there on purpose. There was no witnesses, and as far as i know nobody lived nearby.

The fight starts off a fair one, apart from the lack of witnesses. Garrosh seems to be winning and thrall, knowing he would die, decided to be an absolute coward and cheat. Garrosh, while this fight was happening seems clearly hurt by what thrall has done to him, mentally. He is hurt by the fact that Thrall put him in a high ranking position that he did not want to be in, in the first place, he sees Thrall as nothing but a traitor; and so he should.

Thrall uses the elements against Garrosh, forcing him down so he is unable to attack, or defend himself, he then dismisses Garrosh’s upset, by stating that he was the one who brought it apon himself- Thrall kills garrosh, leaving his body there.

Thrall manages to break Every. Single. Rule.

It was an unfair fight from the start, There was a reason there was no witnesses, so that Thrall could paint himself in a good light. He was wearing (what looks like) full body armour, and used id say about 4 different weapons? Elemental powers count as weapons.

Thrall must’ve known how a Mak’gora works, considering he is an orc. There is no excuse for it, the fact that he chose to have the fight in a discrete location just proves my point, why would he do that other than to dishonourably murder Garrosh? It was a dishonourable kill however you look at it, because of the nature of the Fight.

Hey, I’m starting to learn how to draw, and I was wondering if you had any overall tips?

-Use references. No matter what anyone says, references are the backbone of art. It doesn’t always have to be from photographs either (however if you’re lookin’ for realistic accuracy I highly recommend using photo reference over artist interpretation), but using references and learning how to understand what you’re looking at will help you improve on your craft and how you make art in general

-Practice and take your time. Exhausted as this piece of advice is, practice is literally the biggest thing for art, hell for anything you wanna get good at. Ya gotta put the time in. But that DOES NOT mean you suddenly have to dedicate every waking hour of every day for the rest of your life. Draw as often or as infrequently as you want; draw when you want to, for however long you want to, and try not to feel guilty for not practicing. Art is of course not a race or a popularity contest, but damn does it feel like one sometimes, especially online. The sooner you learn to be kind to yourself about your progress and acknowledge that no matter what, you’re progressing, the better in the long run

As for what to practice, it depends. If you’re lookin’ at improving specifically on something, let’s say hands for example, then draw a bunch of hands from different angles. Trace over photos (actual photos) a few times, get a feel of how a hand is structured, then try drawing it with reference, and then after you’re comfortable with that try drawing without reference. Otherwise, if you’re lookin’ to practice in general just... draw. Best way of learning is to make mistakes before you understand how to overcome it, so sometimes say “fuck anatomy I’m drawin this” and just draw it, mistakes be damned. Having fun is a pretty strong incentive, so if you’re gonna make some mistakes may as well enjoy yourself doin’ it.

-Don’t be afraid to ask for CONSTRUCTIVE critique.  One thing an artist has to learn is that you must be open to getting feedback for your work, but that said I emphasize constructive because sometimes the internet doesn’t know the difference between actual helpful advice and being an ass. As such, you do not need to be open to constructive feedback all the time. Sometimes all ya wanna do is draw a dog, post that dog and say “look, I drew a dog”. And that’s entirely fine. TL;DR, if you wanna improve in art, be willing to ask for feedback and then being open to it when received. But if you don’t want it, don’t be afraid to be honest about that too, just don’t be rude about it.

Personal tip for this one in specific, it might be helpful for you to find an environment geared specifically toward giving helpful feedback. In college we had critique days where the day was geared specifically toward giving each other feedback and constructive criticism on our works, but it happened only in that environment. Otherwise to receive critique you asked, or your classmate would ask you if you were open to feedback before saying anything.

-Dont worry too much about the material you use to create art. Just because you got the good, expensive shit it doesn’t automatically mean you’re better. The artist is the one who controls the medium, not the other way around. That said, there’s no wrong in wanting quality stuff, because sometimes the supplies honestly are that trashy. If you’d like some recs on digital or traditional materials for art I certainly don’t mind giving any based on my own personal experiences O:

-Take up either reading or watching art education resources. Regardless of whether or not you wanna make this a career, if you’re truly looking to get much better I’d suggest lookin’ at classes. I don’t mean pay for it though, not unless ya wanna. Youtube is a wealth of art advice, tutorials, demos, and hell some of your favorite artists might have Patreon rewards/benefits where they put out their own process vids where they talk about their techniques and such (a lot of the time as low as $1 a month). Don’t be afraid to look into it. If that doesn’t strike your fancy, buy artbooks or search for their PDFs online. “The Making Of” books in particular are my favorites, they give you a glimpse of the mindset, process, and pipeline of how things are done in the industry and from professional artists of all sorts in the field, and a lot of the time there’s a good bit of solid advice in them. Full-on tutorial books are helpful too, online or otherwise; one of my favs is Tuesday Tips by Griz and Norm.

.... ok I'm not gonna lie, I have been waiting for someone to post SOMETHING about yandere Reala. I just think it would fit him, especially after NiGHTS' rebellion (now I wish I knew who you were cause I'm just like "omg someone who was thinking what I was thinking?" XD)

I'm so sorry this took awhile! Despite the fact I've thought of this before I had a hard time with this for some reason, and even had to rewrite it when I didn't like it. Hopefully you like the final version!

Ok! Enough chit chatter! Time to fulfill your request as best as I can! I hope I dont get outcasted by the fandom for putting something yandere in it

Yandere!Reala x Visitor!S/O headcannons

(No Reala specific gif because I couldn't find one I liked. Hopefully this'll do!)

The most likely scenario I see is after NiGHTS' rebellion, around a time he was still emotionally raw. Reala and the visitor would have met while he was hunting them for their ideya, but... They were not afraid of him, they were curious about him and his world. Usually he wouldn't give a visitor like them the time of day, but... It had been too long since he had a conversation with someone. Too long since his friend left him. Besides, visitors were, at most, entertainment in his eyes. He could indulge this humans curiosity, so long as he made sure to take their ideya back to his master. So, out of desperation for company, he would have indulged them. And although he wouldn't want to admit it, he was actually enjoying spending time with them. Granted, it wasn't the same as the fun he would have had with his ex comrade, but... It was enough for him to find this visitor interesting.

However, when he realizes how much time he spent interacting with them and had even forgotten to steal their ideya until after they awoke, he would panic. If Wizeman ever found out what happened, then he would be punished. So he makes it a point to find the human later and do his job right the next time they came to the night dimension. He would find the visitor again to finish his job... Only for the visitor to say or do something that caught his attention and make him forget what he was doing.

This conflict would go on for a long time. He shouldn't consider this mortal worthy of his time, he should just grab their ideya already and go! But everytime he would go out to accomplish this, something the visitor would say or do would stop him. Why couldn't he focus on his mission? How did the human hold this much power over him!? During this time, Reala would want to avoid them, wanting to stay away from the source of his fear and frustrations, but at the same time, the thought of what the visitor was doing and their smile and friendly demeanor would force him to go out to find them again. Only to be enraged with himself when he realizes what he did.

Sooner or later, he would take some time to himself to actually think about what to do with the visitor. At first, the answer would be obvious to him, stop fooling around with the human. But then he would think back to all of his time spent with the human, and how they had not only kept him company, but... How nice they were to them. The only other person who had treated him that way was NiGHTS, and even then the way this visitor treated him was different... Maybe he liked having them around too. Of course, upon this realization, his conflict would then be about his loyalties. He would want to keep the human close, but what about his duty? What about his master?

Then again... Wizeman let him and NiGHTS be companions. Granted, this visitor wasn't created by Wizeman to serve him. But if he was good enough, surely his master would allow him to keep them? As a reward for his hard work and unwavering loyalty?

So with that theory, Reala would work as hard as he could to earn the privilege of having his precious visitor with him. He would not only spend as much of his time possible proving himself to Wizeman, but following his visitor around whenever he could. He won't make his presence known, he would just silently observe them in their dreams to learn more about them that he couldn't deduce from his conversations with them.

As time goes by, his obsession over his visitor would grow more and more. He would be thinking about them constantly; what were they doing now? Were they awake or asleep? Were they safe? Would they choose to stay in the night dimension with him willingly? I imagine he would also be obsessive with every little detail about his human, from their physical features to their personality to their habits to their routine. He wants to know everything that there is to know about them for various reasons.

He would also be much more protective of them. He lost his first companion, he is determined not to lose this one. Whenever he sees a nightmaren harassing his human, whether or not they were trying to take their ideya, he will do whatever he can to get them away from them. And since he is a high level nightmaren who communicates with Wizeman the most often, he could easily tell his master that the nightmaren who was harassing his visitor was a traitor, and with how paranoid and tyrannical Wizeman is, he would no doubt kill the nightmaren, regardless of any evidence suggesting Reala was lying. Either that or Reala would take care of the problem himself. Either way, whatever his human doesn't know wont hurt them.

His extra overprotective nature doesn't stop there. Although he doesn't want his precious visitor to be afraid, he also doesn't want them to have pleasent dreams. Good dreams means a higher risk of those nightopians being around his darling human. They aren't as threatening as the nightmaren, but they clearly have the power to brainwash people into believing they are good. They did the exact same thing to his ex comrade. So Reala would do whatever it took to ensure that his visitor didn't interact with any nightopians whatsoever.

Now this last headcannon depends on whether Wizeman allows him to keep his visitor or not. If he gives Reala permission to put them in a coma, he would be ecstatic! He would drop whatever he was doing and fly off to find his darling. The second he finds the opportunity, he will take the necessary steps to trap his human in an neverending sleep. Once done, he will waste no time in taking them back to his home in the castle- not his nightmare lair, that's only reserved for the visitors he gives nightmares too. He would do everything he could to convince his no doubt distraught love that this was for the best for both of them. In the meantime, he will protect them and provide for them, while also keeping them close at all times, or as much as he can considering he has to leave for his duties, but those times he would probably lock his S/O in his home, not willing to trust anyone to look after them. As such, his behavior around them crosses the thin line between protective and possessive.

However, if Wizeman said no, then Reala would be distraught. Not only did this mean that he couldn't keep them close, but someday his treasure would succumb to their mortality and pass away, leaving him all alone again. So he would choose to spend as much time as he could with his visitor. When he wasn't carrying out Wiseman's commands, he would find his human to spend all of his free time with. However, instead of simply talking to them, he would start courting them; if he only has a limited amount of time with his special one, then he will make the most of all that time. His courting would be the usual, gentlemanly acts and tokens of affection, however he would try to be more obvious about his intentions in hopes that will somehow convince his visitor to take him as a lover. If they do, then he will do his best to be the best lover for them, despite the fact that he can't be with them all the time and won't be able to do as much as he could if this relationship wasn't supposed to be a secret from Wizeman. If they said no... He would be devastated, but at the same time he wont be able to bring himself to force them to love them. He will just continue to watch over his love and ensure they are safe. As long as they were safe and were still friends with him, he would be happy. However, he may have thoughts about going against his masters orders and trapping them in a coma anyways... Though that entirely depends on how his and the visitors' relationship unfolds; if it is steady, then he will be less likely to snap. Though that could also change when his human starts growing older and closer to their time of departure. It really all depends on how things play out for the two of them.

Not really related, but when I personally think of yandere Reala, I think of the songs 'Within You' from Labryinth and 'Hellfire' from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, regardless of whether his S/O is a visitor, nightmaren, or even a nightopian. Hellfire is when those feelings are just starting to consume him, and Within You is when he's finally accepted how he feels for his S/O and confronts them.
