I am getting sick of seeing posts about Palestine. I appreciate people are passionate about justice all around the world, I know this is nothing compared to the suffering the people getting killed and attacked, I acknowledge that.

But that doesn't make it any less annoying to see it pop up everywhere you go when you're a young adult trying to get your own shit together.

A young adult who isn't able to help others with anything because I don't even have any stability in my own life, I have goddamn issues with not even hating myself or damaging myself, it gets so annoying to see so much of this distant conflict when I'm not even able to properly help myself let alone having the emotional or financial resources and general energy to dedicate to this big political conflict.

Just had to vent this cause otherwise this shit would've kept annoying me until I'd want to comment something rude on an activist's post.

Istg, one more post about this and I'm going to have to block the tag just to keep my mind clear and fresh and as sharp as possible. I feel like it's driving me nuts.

I didn't want to, because turning a blind eye to the suffering of others isn't very cool but when it's getting this repetitive and not getting any positive effect from me viewing it anyways, only worsening things, I'm going to have to.

But fuck, I think I might genuinely start crying over this. As a transgender biologist, this feels like a brutally personal blow. I slowly accepted my gender alongside my biology education. The more misinformation that was spewed about "biological sex" by mainstream media, the more my professors, colleagues, and primary sources would casually drop information that proved they have no idea what they're talking about. I'm not an expert on sex determination, gender, or transgender biology specifically by any means. But my worldview has been crafted by my studies in genetics and molecular biology.

Engaging with this research helped me demystify transition. It helped me optimize my transition. It helped me explain how HRT and other steps of trans healthcare work to other people. And it helped me overcome my own internalized transphobia, and finally start transitioning, despite knowing I wanted to since my preteen years.

Who knows how enforceable internal guidelines like this will be. But its certainly going to scare a lot of researchers away from transgender healthcare and science in the coming years, and that breaks my heart.

There's a lot I can say here, but fuck. I just needed to vent for a moment. Fuck.

I see so many people feeling all smug at those "damn conservatives who will finally see the mistake they made!" And you know a while ago I would've agreed, but seeing it all now, I can't. I can't be happy, I can't be smug, there's nothing to celebrate.

still i think the one of the more fun differences drawn between illario and lucanis that was lost would be illario's ability to endear himself to others but serious lack of empathy, vs. lucanis' (self perceived) inability to be charming but how much he cares. it's interesting that the game has gone with the "lucanis' ability vs illario's lack thereof" because i think illario being the dellamorte 'best in show dog' vs. lucanis' attack dog would have made me so unwell.

lucanis is... awkward. he's not unlikable, because he is usually very polite, but he doesn't speak much and only seems to care about the other dellamortes. he once sent viago de riva a knife with no note (who knows what he could have meant by this). he does what caterina asks of him, and by his own admission, cannot say no to her. he is a dramatic and prolific killer, and that makes how untouchable he is even worse.

and the crows like illario, sure, AND he's a good assassin! he's even a good crow! he's so good that he can make lucanis smile, and so he is the charming, sociable one. he's the one that stays in treviso and can be relied upon to care, illario's even the one people prefer over caterina and lucanis!

but illario is decoration. he's the prize poodle, and even if poodles were bred to be working dogs, nobody will ever pick him to protect the house over the german shepherd that regularly mauls intruders. anyways the analogy is getting away from me. the point i'm trying to make is that i want illario to have a different kind of jealousy/hatred that's not just over 'being bad at killing' but also an arrogant loathing for everyone around him that is getting harder to hide, because they've forgotten he can bite and is just itching to rip someone's jugular out. illario is very good at hiding his family resemblance to caterina, while lucanis suffers under his grandmother's, and his own, reputation.

I hate being political, but...I have read just a few pages of this and I am already afraid for the safety of my family, my friends, and everyone in this country. Like...How. How could you have voted for this? It's lying about caring about its citizens, look at how much it emphasizes abortion taking life from children, who are barely even fetuses. It emphasizes how the "wokeness" of the left has destroyed America. It wants to make marriages permanent and difficult to terminate. Project 2025 thinks it is better for women to be married no matter what than it is for children to be safe. It doesn't care that people can die and leave others behind. This "project" is horrible. Denaturalization, restriction of healthcare, the forcing of tariffs, the list goes on and on. They want to change the CDC, they want to change how healthcare favors people, they are going to get people killed. They don't care, they never had. Please.
