so here's something interesting about the voice of the hunted. in almost every path you hear him in, he's insistent but he still sounds nervous, as if he's not exactly sure his ideas will work but it's just all he knows so he sticks to it.
except one path.
in the eye of the needle, he sounds notably much more brave and confident than he usually sounds. and when you get down to it, there's a reason for this. it's because she's the type of danger that he knows his ideas will work on. she's powerful, but she's slow and predictable. not good for her when she's up against someone fast and nimble and can dodge her every move.
he knows the eye of the needle's weakness. it's obvious to him. and he will let you know that as well. if you focus on speed rather than power, you can beat her. and he's right. combining that with stubborn's sheer determination, the two make an excellent team against her.
idk i just really like the voice of the hunted (he's up there with stubborn and contrarian to me) and i get a little sad seeing how little attention he gets in the fandom compared to the other voices. but hey, if he has just one fan, that fan is me.

When talking about Kairi I always thought she should interact with more characters because it could lead to some interesting interactions, but then I realized a lot of characters don't interact enough out of their small little groups.
Kairi only interacts with Sora mainly, sometimes with Riku, and then she is given some nice interactions with Axel which I really like.
Then we have Riku he mainly interacts with Sora, a tiny bit with Kairi, some with Mickey, and a bit with Terra but it's still not enough. Oh and he had a tiny conversation with Naminé in COM.
Ventus only interacts with Terra, Aqua, and Vanitas. Oh and somewhat with Sora too. It would be nice to see him interact with Roxas since they look alike or even Axel because they could have been friends like the interaction in BBS. Him and Kairi would also have good intentions because they are both only light.
Aqua doesn't interact outside her trio either, but she probably will interact with Kairi more. I hope we actually get to see her interact with Kairi along with some of the Twilight Town Trio.
Naminé actually interacts with a bit more characters however it's not that much. She talks with Roxas on nobodies, she talks to Xion, and then she talks a bit to Riku and Sora as well.
I'm just going to say most characters interact with Sora. Sora is the character that interacts with everyone and binds them all together besides the fact they have a common goal.
Even in organization 13, several of the members don't interact. I would have loved to see Vanitas interact with Dark Riku. It would be nice to see Vanitas interact with the other members of Organization 13. Marluxia and Larxene basically only interact with each other too.
There are so many other characters and examples but I would love a lot more interactions for more characters.

emergency aid request.
this is a survival fund now. i am a disabled, traumatized trans artist of color & i am at the end of my rope. capitalism is gunning for me, for my family, & i can't keep up. i am working, but it's not enough. i need help.
i hate begging. my family really drilled into me that needing help makes me weak (& probably immoral), but i can't do this alone. my family disowned me for being trans. i have no safety net. my disability is only going to worsen. i can't bootstrap myself out of this.
if anyone has questions, i'll do my best to answer them. if there is more info needed i'll provide it. if anyone wants proof of bills or something, i can show that. if you want to commission me, PLEASE contact me!! i AM working. it's just not enough.
thank you in advance for any help, shares, signal boosts, etc. and thank you for help i've received in the past. i'm sorry to keep having to do this.

Question for Anyone who might know how to explain it?
So, a friend of mine has hyperfixated hard on the Danny Phantom fandom, and one of the things she really digs is the weird inhumanity of the concept that the fandom has delved into. This is something I'm not inherently against, but the idea of 'obsessions' where you literally have to do a thing or else it causes actual physical damage to you, kind of IMO leans too hard towards the concept that the Always Wrong(tm) parents have of ghosts being mindless echos of something else, and kind of . . .Depersons them?
"This person died, but because they were just so into X they stuck around, and now their obsession is X." "Alright that sounds cool, now how would they change and grow as people?" "They wouldn't because their obsession is X and will always be X, and can never not be X otherwise it causes them actual physical pain and potentially will kill them." It also kind of ruins the whole 'self sacrificing' angle of Danny potentially giving up his dreams of being able to do anything else *but* guard Amity Park from danger. "Well if he doesn't do it anyway he's going to literally die so there's not really a choice in the matter." Not really self sacrificing when you put it that way. The other things that bug me about it, is that it seems too. . .neat and tidy? Like, we already know *fuck all* about the human brain as it is. Psychology is a shot in the dark and based around general vibes with patterns that seem to be common in humanity. Why would it suddenly become less complicated if you're dealing with emotions that are no longer tied to chemicals in the brain and are instead spread over the entirety of your being? //TANGENT WARNING// If I was the one originally putting down the concept of 'obsessions', it'd be something early ghosts, or ghosts that lack maturity/introspection/self awareness deal with because yes, in order to stick around after death you probably *would* have to have something to latch onto, at least in the moment. Younger ghosts cling to said obsession because they haven't actually self actualized, the whole I think therefore I am. There's also that whole feeling of self preservation because "this is what I held onto and what kept me going even when the rest of me didn't, so if I don't hold onto it with literally *everything* I may just die." that kind of drives them instinctually until they manage to grow beyond that. As the ghosts mature (emotionally anyway) their obsessions would be less and less important. They might still enjoy things about it, it was an obsession for a reason after all, they may even still fulfill it to some extent, but it's less a *must do* and more of an 'I like this, but it is not an all consuming need that without fulfilling I will literally die'. This would also work to explain how and why the Fentons think this is the truth without making them the worst scientists imaginable. Most ghosts that want to cause a fuss/fight/whatever are likely less self actualized/younger and therefore are more likely to cling to said obsession. A ghost mature enough to not cling to said obsession is much less likely to actually make themselves known to living people. Therefore they'd lack actual examples that could throw a wrench into their theories and force them to re-examine their research. //TANGENT OVER// but, it's entirely possible that I'm just. .. misunderstanding, or am an idiot. Hence why I'm shoving this question into a metaphorical bottle and yeeting it into the stormy seas that is the internet.

i want to preface this with a few things
dick grayson is my favourite character. i am not here to slander him or talk bad about those who like him
fanon is what got me into dc. i have grown since and now have a substantial comic collection (at least for the few months i've been collecting). i still enjoy fanon but i am a canon person
with all of that said...
a pointless rant about dick grayson in fanon
sources listed at the bottom
this discourse surrounding dc, the batfam in particular, has really been irking my lately. i don't know why, it just has. i see so much around these characters and the way fans interact with each other here on hellsite and on tiktok (i avoid twitter like middle-aged cis white british dads avoid talking about their feelings) and i just wanna scream about it
the erasure of dick grayson's character
dick grayson isn't a himbo
this is particularly common in fanfictions given that the barrier of entry is non-existent but the idea that dick is a silly, ditzy, idiot that can't cook is arguably the complete opposite of his character
i have a feeling this idea stems from the nature of dick as nightwing, the cracking jokes whilst fighting, the appearance of not taking things seriously (when he in fact does, just not as outwardly as the likes of batman). this in and of itself is ridiculous given that a similar character, peter parker aka spider-man, also crack jokes and honestly is very similar to dick in the way he is as a hero, and yet, for the most part, is still taken seriously and isn't diminished to the same level that dick is
which could come down to public knowledge of the character
let's be honest, the majority of the public could tell you who peter parker is, have probably seen at least one live action iteration of the character, if not all 3 iconic versions (maguire, garfield, holland) most (and please forgive me for using generations) millenials and gen z can define their teen years based on which spider-man was coming out. which they went to the cinema to see. all live-action appearances are:
the amazing spider-man ('77-'79) played by nicholas hammond
spider-man (also japanese spider-man) ('78-'79) played by Shinji Tōdō
spider-man (1, 2, 3)('02, '04, '07) played by tobey maguire
the amazing spider-man (1, 2)('12, '14) played by andrew garfield
spider-man (homecoming, far from home, no way home)('17, '19, '21) played by tom holland
given that dick has just as many live action appearances, stretching back to before spider-man had even debuted in the comics:
the batman serial ('43) played by douglas croft
the batman and robin serial ('49) played by jonny duncan
batman ('66-'68) played by burt ward
batman forever ('95) and Batman & Robin ('97) played by chris o'donnell
titans ('18-'23) played by brenton thwaites
EDIT: in my excitement i never included the first comic appearances of either character. dick debuted on the 6th march 1940 in detective comics #38, peter debuted on 5th june 1962 in amazing fantasy #15
(i am not talking about animated appearances as for both peter and dick they are much less known to the general public than live action)
i'd say i was surprised to see the same number of appearances, but by comparing when the show/movie came out, you can see a clear difference
every live action spider-man project listed has occurred within the past 50 years, with the movies being in relatively consistent from 2002 onwards. dick grayson is more sporadic, 2 appearances in the 40s, again in the 60s, again in the 90s, and finally in the late 10s. no wonder he's less well known when you have to go back to the 90s for a movie version and even then it isn't really dick grayson (in terms of characterisation)
most people can tell you there's batman and robin, and maybe just maybe they can tell you robin is dick grayson, but that's about it. mention nightwing and they blank. and don't even try to tell someone that there's been more that one robin, it won't end well
i can hear people yelling "but dick is a sidekick and peter isn't"
yes, that is true, but dick hasn't been a sidekick since the early 80s, after he'd been around for over 4 decades. that's a pretty old sidekick. but yes, this does hold some merit but given that dick is a lot older it's interesting. and with the most recent live action appearance being titans, a show that spends the first 2 seasons exploring dick's journey from sidekick to standalone hero, it does pose some questions
that was a long tangent to basically say that an equivalent character in personality isn't erased so much in fanfiction because they have more recent and bigger exposure (probably)
also, random, but in my research i came across this list of best teen heroes and look
Tumblr media
fig 1. image showing spider-man and dick grayson in positions 1 and 2 relatively in a fan voted list of best teen heroes, spider-man having 3446 votes and dick grayson having 3191 votes
anyway, back to the rant
a wayne family adventures (WFA) tangent
i see people blaming WFA for this but i really don't think that is the case. he may not be the same as his comic counterpart but he is not out of character. everything he does is still very much him. examples include:
comforting duke after ana broke up with him (ep. 10)
helping damian make a friend (ep. 24)
being torn between his brothers (ep. 27-28)
teasing bruce after zatanna made him superman (ep. 54)
teasing helena into swapping weapons (ep. 63) i just like this one
organising everyone back to the manor when he realised alfred was left on his own during thanksgiving (ep. 68)
picking the rainbow suit for bruce (ep. 77)
talking to a little girl who just lost her parents (ep. 80-81)
annoying wally (ep. 84) birdflash time
helping duke with the kidnapping threat (ep. 99) also like this one
competing with jason over lian and roy (ep. 108)
making tim do all the work in his apartment (ep. 111) + haley
comforting and helping damian when he doubts himself (ep. 113) arguably my favourite episode
ok that was most of them BUT seriously WFA is not the problem here
there's no "fix" for this, i just wanted to tell people to stop blaming WFA for everything wrong with new comic fans; you can enjoy WFA and enjoy the comics, the aren't mutually exclusive
WFA doesn't erase him, they just choose what to show in the limited time you get with him. the only thing i remember being "wrong" is that dick can't cook (ep. 17 - top chef)
and yeah, WFA does play into the golden retriever vibes fanon dick has... in one episode, specifically the haley episode (ep. 111) see below. if it takes 111 episodes to fall on a fanon trope, i think that is fine. if you want to include ep. 17, that's 2 episodes out of 116! that's pretty good going. even the comics have more ooc moments (see the current nightwing run)
Tumblr media
fig. 2 screenshot from wayne family adventures showing dick grayson smiling and saying "thank you" whilst a tail wags in the background
fanfiction
unsurprisingly, fanfiction is probably to blame but don't think i'm blaming authors (i kinda am but stick with me here)
i don't think writing a comic canon charatcer should be required, but i do think writers should disclose when they haven't read the comics. from experience, i get not annoyed, but have a "ugh" moment when i read a fic and the character is ooc, but if the author has stated in the notes that they haven't read a comic and the character is probably ooc, i am still going to read the fic
ooc or not, if a fic has a decent plot, at least 6th grade (UK year 7) level writing, and not "want to punch them in the face" characters, i'll enjoy it. throw in a popular trope and it'll be a favourite
and if you tell people "hey, this is probably ooc from the comic canon" they can't get mad or blame authors... just saying
i mean the whole reason this is "the problem" is that people get mad over ooc in fan works. like i'm sorry, have you read gotham war?!?!? the current nightwing run?!?!? lots of ooc in the comics themselves
tl;dr
fanfiction is the root of all evil
no, but seriously, dick's, mis-characterisation is a product of his prevalence in media, the material people have, and a lack of disclaiming ooc in fanfics. the last point could be a solution, but honestly expecting fanfic authors to do that is ridiculous
this rant was for nothing, hope you enjoyed wasting your time
i did tell you it was pointless
(i should've called this section a conclusion bc the word count is 1559 and that is insane. it's literally longer than the essay i have due in next week that i'm only half way through)
(also, this was supposed to be the first part of a longer post about how dick is over-sexualised but at that word count i'm splitting it up)

Having discovered beepbox this weekend, I decided to actually sit down and make something. Is it good? I dunno. Did I make it all by myself and am I proud of it? Yes.
Does this actually count as my first song? It's definitely the first I've made on purpose

Really wish it was possible to say that Mirio can be included in the erasermic family without somebody going 'and Deku!'
You would really do that to All Might? You would really take his legacy from him? His boy? His Young Midoriya? You would do that to the symbol of peace? Hasn't he suffered enough without losing his son to somebody who doesn't even want to raise him in the first place?

Recently I started commenting on as many pieces of fan fiction and fan art I could; I’d been getting a lot of posts in my feed about the content-ization of fandom and the lack of commenting or liking or interacting and thought about how good I feel whenever I get a reply or comment, no matter how big or small.
My fear previously had been commenting something cringe, or not as good, or a wrong interpretation, so I just consumed and moved on. Now, though, it’s a joy to comment on everyone’s posts and it gets easier with each one, to tell each person how much I appreciate the way they see certain characters and the effort they put in.
All this to say, leave a comment once in a while! It makes you feel good and it makes the artist/writer feel amazing. Leaving that comment and then speed-closing your phone because of the terror of being perceived? Just know the authors probably kicking their feet and smiling.
And if your stuff isn’t getting interactions, know that people are probably seeing it! It’s just less commonplace to leave a comment these days, but I’m sure someone saw and loved it!

It's Hazbin Hotel Theory Time!
Alastor might be a Fallen Angel, and maybe even a very specific named angel
Tumblr media
So, this little theory rant comes to us courtesy of the attached TikTok which I'll summarize before I add on to it (No idea how widespread this idea is, but this is how I first heard of it) (Also, putting it all under a Read More because, oh damn, it's a lotta words!)
To summarize, the theory postulates that Alastor is not just a Fallen Angel, but none other than the Archangel Michael
First, see the lyrics in the Finale song, "Once I figure out how to unclip my wings"
Second is his hair, in both style and color. Adam and the Exorcists bear a similar striping toward the base of their wings, and Vaggie has similar markings in her hair which resembles wings. Similarly, Alastor bears that two-tone striping and a vague wing-like shape.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next, Alastor's outfit is strinkingly similar to St. Peter's, in general triangular shape, the use of the bow tie, and even the perpetual smile.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then there's the clear tension between our favorite Radio Demon and the Ruler of Hell himself, Lucifer. Here, we start to veer more pointedly into Alastor being Michael specifically, as Michael and Lucifer have been depicted as natural enemies.
Additional details include both Michael and Alastor having X's show up, and Alastor's mic staff looking similar to a staff that Michael is often depicted with
Additionally, Michael is traditionally both the Warrior Angel, wielding his sword as he leads the angelic armies, and also as the Judge of Heaven, setting a soul's life on a scale to determine if they are worthy of entering Heaven. If Michael were to become absent from his post, then another would have to take his place in command (which we see in Adam), and in theory the others might be left unsure as to the exact requirements for allowing a soul entry to Heaven (which is effectively stated to be the case)
What if that's exactly what happened? What if the Archangel Michael left his position in Heaven and descended to Earth in the 1930's to become a human? Given the nature of the show as a whole, I don't think it's a reach to think that he might want a taste of sending souls to their Final Judgement even as a human, which then leads neatly into the established lore of Alastor being a serial killer, who was then shot and killed, and due to his abandonment of responsibilities in Heaven, this completed his Fall and he arrived in Hell.
So, that all is covered in the above TikTok, but while discussing the theory with a coworker today, I stumbled into further possible proof, albeit from a less connected and more coincidental source: Black Gryph0n's "Insane". Obviously, this is taking a sharp left turn into the incidental and "Cool If It Ends Up This Way", but still, I had to share with the class, ergo, this post.
First, let's look at that first verse...
Hello, it’s nice to meet you! Can you tell me where I am? I don’t know how I got here But I think I’m starting to understand. I don’t belong among the angels, and baby that’s just fine with me. The things I did up there were high school, but now I’m going for my degree.
Primarily, we're looking at the last two lines. "I don't belong among the angels, and baby that's just fine with me". If we assume that Alastor is Michael, then this can easily be read as him rejecting his once-held role among them, acknowledging that he turned his back on them. "The things I did up there were high school, but now I’m going for my degree." This could be a reference to his serial killing, before finding an entire new realm in which to hunt and murder. Or, it could also be him stating that his role as Warrior and Judge for Heaven was him holding back, playing by Heaven's rules, and now he has no such constraints.
Now, the second verse...
Wait a minute, do I know you? Weren’t an old pal of mine? Departed from us far too early, but now we’re meeting a second time. We used to have such fun together, and maybe you have what I need But first I have one tiny question; tell me, do you demons bleed?
Continuing with the lens of his being Michael, it's very easy to picture him saying this to Lucifer. Once compatriots in Heaven, before Lucifer left their ranks and Fell. Perhaps what Lucifer has that Alastor needs is his wings, that which he's seeking to unclip, and the lack of which would presumably limit the power of a Fallen Angel.
Finally, the chorus itself.
Sorry but you just got in my way I promise honey I can feel your pain And maybe I enjoy just a little bit Does that make me insane? Haven’t been the same since I expired Doesn’t mean that I plan to retire And now I have the power to bathe all of you in entertaining fire!
One common method often shown in fictional judges is the supernatural ability to empathize with those being judged, the ability to feel what they feel. It's not too far a stretch, then, to think that Michael might bear this ability, which would lend itself to Alastor being able to feel his victims pain. Then, that last line, "bathe all of you in entertaining fire". What was it that Adam said in his first song? That he and the Exorcists, those with "divine ordainment", viewed the annual exterminations as nothing more than Entertainment?
Now, shifting back to the canon proper for one last bit, this theoretical true identity might recolor Alastor's action in the final battle, particularly against Adam specifically. He was the only one to not wield an angelic weapon in that fight. There's two options I've thought of that might explain this, using this theory. A: Leaning into the acknowledged fanon that he simply wanted to see how strong he was when he directly faced angelic forces, he might now be wanting to see if he still stacked up against them, if he still had the power he once had over them. B: Or, perhaps, it was his own deal that kept him hamstrung. Perhaps the deal he's seeking a way out of prevented him from touching angelic steel, kept him from taking up the one weapon that would give him the necessary edge in that fight.
And that's what I've got! Just felt like way too nicely lined up to keep it to myself, and had to share it! And I'm horrible at figuring out how to close this kinda post, so...

So I don’t now much about Watcher and Listener lore, just that fandom likes to make Grian a Watcher and Martyn a Listener, and this got me thinking
I don’t know if this has been thought of yet, but if there’s a Watcher and a Listener, there must be a third one called Speaker, right?
And like I said, I’m not familiar with the lore or their abilities, but I imagine that Speakers can either speak things into existence (like a god), or speak of things about to happen (like a seer)
And if this doesn’t fit in with the canon/fanon lore, then uhhh, sorry about that

Today I had a dream where infected monster flying parasites from another dimension where invading the land of ooo, taking the color and soul away from everything.
But it was actually caused by a breach from an Evil Reboot Ben Tennyson, in which Prime Kevin 11 was supervising.
With better control of his powers, and no Ben or Gwen around, he absorbs the DNA of Reboot Ben's watch, giving us a mutant Kevin, which would not be possible in the Reboot.
Furthermore, Kevin duplicated his own mutation, by cloning himself using Slapback's power.
Take this information as you will, but I found it hilarious, mind you, I have never watched the Reboot, but I know a couple things here and there.
-
Also, even though Prime and Reboot do not share a multiverse, in my dream I do know Albedo had something to do with manifesting this kind of scenario, as before the Kevin stuff, it was Ben fighting multiple Evil Ben's.
My dream also made that fight kinda brutal, so picture the parasites as really scary too.
