Have recently encountered people complaining that Bakugo is too good at everything, that his amazing talents in whatever he tries prove that he’s a Mary Sue. The evidence given for this is that as soon as the plot needs a band he’s a great drummer, and as soon as the topic of cooking comes up he’s a great cook.

I’m pretty sure this has been exacerbated by fanfic portraying him as genuinely amazing at these things, but let’s not forget that in canon he's great at those things by the standards of a group of 15-year-olds. His drumming is good enough to help win a high school talent show, his cooking is great according to kids who have never lived away from their parents before.

OK, does Bakugo get hyped up by the narrative more than maybe he really warrants? Sure, yes, absolutely. Is he an asshole? Also yes. But let’s not act like he’s canonically an incredible wunderkind. He’s great at a certain set of skills he has deliberately trained in and honed, and he’s also good at a few other things because he has hobbies.

You know seeing people still thinking that the Twitter ban in Brazil is the minister being a tyrant is so baffling, first because he was just following the law of the country, and I bet every country has something similar, all international companies are obligated to have a representative because without a company representative makes it impossible for you to ask for illegal things be removed from them, yes even child porn you wouldn't have a legal way to ask for Twitter to remove if you were in Brazil.
