Okay, so I kind of interpret Sirius as going to Gryffindor because he met James and the lure of that new friendship provided an added incentive to actually go against his family’s expectations (kind of meaning James outweighed the potential fallout of his Sorting), so do you think Sirius still would have gone to Gryffindor had he not met James? Like, we see how important James is to Sirius pretty much every time Sirius is on page, so I’m always wondering about how different Sirius’s life would’ve gone had he never met James. Sirius makes his comment about maybe being different when they’re discussing Houses and how his entire family is full of Slytherins, so James is very much linked to Sirius’s Gryffindor Sorting (and also Sirius displays a ton of Slytherin traits like “resourcefulness, determination, a certain disregard for rules” [from COS], and ambitiousness. He’s not cunning, but almost none of the canon Slytherins actually are so evidently that trait isn’t actually all that important). There’s so many potential paths that could result from Sirius not meeting/befriending James and I just cannot stop thinking about how a random meeting on a train could have changed Sirius’s whole life

gosh, this is such an interesting question bc it’s very very impossible for me to think of sirius without james lol but i’ll try.

sirius does show disdain for slytherin (possibly bc it’s linked to his family and in his mind, family=bad, ergo family=slytherin=bad ykno?) so it’s likely he doesn’t make it there (or doesn’t want to, at least). i do wonder, however, if he had any latent biases against gryffindor (the way snape did) tho. like, if his family kept instilling certain ideas in him, and he has nothing to counter it—what’s to say he isn’t equally unnerved by gryffindor-ish brashness and recklessness? i think, in that case, perhaps ravenclaw might suit him bc he *is* smart and he himself might consider it a ‘respectable’ house to be in.

that being said, i have read a few fics where sirius does go into slytherin (esp w/o having james) and almost all of them come down to an intense focus on subtlety and playing the long game. sirius wants to protect his brother, or realises the only way he can get out is by going thru it. he keeps his head down and manages to make it all the way out so he has power and protection and some cards up his sleeve. in that case, yeah, i can see him going there, but that does require a level of foresight from a child and suspension of disbelief from readers

i’m not sure if he’d be in gryffindor without james, though, purely bc he wouldn’t really have any incentive to go there other than, say, being different than his family (and i’m not sure how strong that desire was in 11yo sirius anyway). moreso, if he thinks gryffindor would have an hostile environment, it would just be in his self interest to…not, yeah?)

when it comes to the whole ‘how would sirius’ life be without james’ aspect of this, gosh. what a fucking tragedy. perhaps the biggest thing that stands out to me is that he wouldn’t have his safe space, ykno? the kind of unlearning and growth that can happen when you’re with someone who wholeheartedly believes in u and unconditionally loves u is,,,,unmatched, and i can’t see him getting that anywhere else. and i’ve talked about the morality angle wrt james & sirius (tl;dr: sirius has a strong right & wrong framework, but the path to get there is muddied bc of his upbringing)—i think that would also be a bit more tricky. i can see a more ruthless sirius, one who imbibes more of his family’s teaching bc they’re the most dominant parts of his life, and maybe even a more mercenary flavor to his personality. because in canon, i think sirius has the potential for all that, but it’s never really unlocked bc of the company & examples he has around him in hogwarts.

Chase Collins was the bad boy of Hogwarts. Everyone knew he’d be sorted in Slytherin. But you with your olive skin and big brown eyes and sweet nature everyone assumed you’d be a Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. 

You were nervous as you walked up to the sorting hat and sat down as the Hat did its thing he made a gruff voice.

“Hmmm very interesting... You fit a few different houses young lady, but I sense there's only one you really want to go to.” Your heart beats fast as you nod your head as the Hat does a smirk.

“Then I must say... SLYTHERIN!”

Gasps were heard in the great hall as students were shocked to hear that you were put in Slytherin. 

As you walk to your seat You meet the blue eyes of Chase Collins as he takes your hand and kisses it.

“Slytherin just got more beautiful.” He whispers. 

You were captivated and lost by those blue eyes.

A student knocks your books out down as you sigh and reach down to grab them up.

“Slytherins are evil!” They spat as you just gather your books up. A hand is placed on your back, you look up and see those blue eyes of Chase.

rewriting ash’s intro post since i link it on his plots page so that the info’s up to date since my last rewrite is over two years old. i added quite a bit about his personality/characterization, so feel free to read it but also feel equally free to ignore it.

tw: mention of depression/anxiety

ashton taeyong kwon, born in san francisco, california on december 24, 1995, and was raised there until age 13

his stage name is taeyong, but friends call him ash. he’s learned to respond to taeyong tho and doesn’t mind fans and acquaintances calling him that; he just doesn’t really like being called ashton unless you’re his actual mom and he will generally make his distaste known if you do that. fans don’t really know he goes by ash in his private life so they call him taeyong and he’d like to keep it that way. (he’s not a fan of fans pretending to have a closer relationship with him than fan-artist... lmao)

was a musical baby from birth so he started taking piano, dance, and guitar lessons pretty early and fell in love with all three

auditioned for bc entertainment’s global audition in los angeles for fun more than anything else as a dancer. he didn’t know a ton about korean music (or korean language) but figured it couldn’t hurt since he knew he wanted to pursue a music career

won a contract offer and decided to go for it with his parents’ approval, so he moved to seoul by himself at 13

he knew very little korean, so he was kind of isolated as a trainee and was really lonely. his parents probably shouldn’t have let him move his life overseas alone at such a young age and on such short notice knowing his personality, but they kinda wanted to live the childfree life again since they had him so young and without plans to have a kid

(his parents are good parents for the most part, though! he loves them to death and they’re very loving and supportive, they’re just the types that didn’t plan to have a kid until it happened on accident)

by the time he debuted, he knew korean well enough to get by but he did have some attitude scandals when they first debuted because he was trying to overcompensate for not being 100% fluent

bc decided his image should be more ~broody and artsy~ to avoid more attitude scandals. since then, it’s evolved into james dean-esque bad boy heartthrob, but for the longest time his image was pretty much being quiet which led to him not being super popular until he eventually started to shape his own solo career (so he now has a lot of akgaes)

things were going pretty well for him for a while ! knight was doing great and yeah maybe he was a little overworked but he was performing ! which is what he wanted ! right ? right ?????

all hell broke loose on valentine’s day in 2016 when one rather minor dating rumor released by a media outlet led to a much bigger scandal which originated in fan communities through “leaked” pictures of him out with other female celebrities in common date locations or, in one case, entering a hotel together on more than one occasion

antis quickly ran with the narrative of him being a player/womanizer/serial dater/cheater, etc. and further “evidence” appeared on fan communities like unsubstantiated “eyewitness” stories and convenience store receipts and it took a big toll on his reputation despite the company coming out with a statement denying everything and claiming he was only friends with the women

it became a big mess and he tried to put on a strong face but in reality it tore him up because now everyone was talking shit about him online and trying to make his private life their business and he ended up in a Really Dark Place

was pretty much dungeoned outside of knight activities for about eight months before he was made one of the members of the white knight sub unit to get him back in the public’s graces which worked on a minor level. he got his first solo activities (osts) around this time as well to test out public response.

in 2017, got caught with another female idol at a convenience store at night which sparked dating rumors, but those were more easily dismissed. late that year, he got in a scandal for causing a commotion when he was wasted outside of a club in tokyo and called a female friend to pick him up from the club... not his best move.

2018 was the year of being criticized for being lazy on stage and allegedly having an attitude problem with fans during fan signs. was a bad look, but the instances causing the scandal were mainly a result of his poor mental health (depression and extreme anxiety) he was dealing with as a result of making his solo debut amidst quite a lot of online hate.

so yeah he made his solo debut in late 2017 and has had a steady career as a solo artist (he’s dropped four full albums and several promoted or non-promoted singles) and a model for endorsements and cfs (his biggest and longest-term deal has been with calvin klein, and that’s become a part of his Brand now i would say — the sexy, modern, all-american image of calvin klein fits his public image to a t) since then. he and bc have worked very hard to redeem his public image and he hasn’t had a scandal in like three years, during which time he’s had six number one singles, so he’s not public enemy number one anymore and his past scandals tend to be more of a footnote to people who aren’t actively his antis lmao

he also had a viral fancam in october 2020 that went viral for him being sexy and Very Into singing you know i’m no good by amy winehouse (because he hates himself </3)... sexy king who has internalized issues with being sexualized that he kinda has to deal with since that’s a big part of his image and also continuously gets rewarded in his career for his Public Self-Hatred Self-Flagellation... anyway

has also done a lot of work as a songwriter/producer since his solo debut for himself and others and that’s his main passion right now. this man does not leave his home studio a lot

doesn’t have much say in knight’s music but he’s fine with that since he’s pretty much over knight. would throw a party if knight disbanded today and considers other knight members co-workers over friends for the most part.

has major depressive disorder and an anxiety disorder (the former is diagnosed, the latter isn’t officially but ash knows something is up there, he just hasn’t seen anyone with the capacity to officially diagnose him) and insomnia and those took a really bad toll on him for a while and still do but he’s actively seeing a therapist again as of mid-2020 and is trying to handle those situations better

ummmmm, his main personal interest is music, he has an impulsive/rebellious streak for days, and he’s a hopeless romantic who believes his own personal search for love is hopeless

his main motivation is just ?? to find happiness that he doesn’t think he’s really felt in his adult life but he also doesn’t think he deserve it so :/ is also very driven by his desire to have a long-term impact on the world and to Mean Something

his biggest fears are heights, not meaning anything to anyone, and The Inevitability Of Oblivion

he hates being Known . he’s extremely private. doesn’t let anyone know about his relationships and tends to be weirdly private about his friendships as well. doesn’t think anything he does is anyone else’s business unless he personally makes it their business lmao

a hufflepuff who could have also been considered for gryffindor tbh but would choose hufflepuff

an abridged history/explanation of warrior cats if you didn’t read them as a kid and have questions (a primer)

welcome. i’m going to keep things to the point, this is not a plot summary, just, well, its a pandemic and people are seeking items of childhood comfort and its come to my attention that a lot of people didn’t read these books as kids and then they come up in conversation and they act shocked so! i felt compelled to write this.

[2.5k words, 10min read. section headers, no pictures. not a ton of helpful formatting. i don’t want to say don’t read this because obviously i wrote it and think it’s worth reading, but i’ll be honest, this is a lot.]

section one: about me

i was an avid reader as a child, most of which fits solidly into “stories for another time,” and some of which would necessitate me adding tags onto this post that are, well, not necessary. so i will skip over that backstory but for those aware of lexile scores, i had one that was too high for literally any book that was appropriate to give me. so reading in school was torture and reading for fun was excellent.

now because i was a first-ish grader and my mom was trying to keep the fifth harry potter out of my hands, she looked desperately for something else to pass to me. her friend, who had a daughter a year or two older than me, was into these cat books, and my mom was like “here honey you like cats” without thinking too much about it.

which is good, because as i’ll get into, it was a really good fit for me. but like a dozen books later she asked me about the plot and well. i think at that moment she realized that it might have been better to just let me read harry potter.

but yeah i continued to read them long past the recommended reading ages and still as a Young Adult will return to them for nostalgia, and also as i will get into, some really good books. (see a list of books for “morbidly curious but i don’t want to spend 56 to 168 hours reading this”)

i’m not fully caught up on the series but this is not a plot summary so that should not impact my ability to discuss this

section two: content warnings

these books (not this post) includes the following:

discussion of castration (1.1 series 1, book 1, i’m not including this on every item/discussion because this is a complicated series but i want to demo how up front some of this is)

teenage romance/sex/pregnancy (1.1ish-1.3 or 4, continues throughout the series quite a lot, comes up again in 3.4/5, 4.4-5, and a bit in 5)

death from childbirth (1.can’t remember which book, many others)

unwanted pregnancy (se super edition, or a longer one off novel, discussed in 4&5)

sex/implied, discussed, and very very very heavily hinted but never directly said/shown (1.1-3ish, se, other)

murder (constantly, 1.1, 1.4, literally every book, 3.5, i’m just listing the ones i remember off the top of my head that were particularly graphic)

disability/illness, esp. the debilitating and/or deadly nature of it (1.3-5ish, 3.1, but all of 3, 3.4ish)

dementia (1.3-5, i’ve heard in some of the later series?)

abuse (7/8 this is reported i haven’t read these books but based on what i know it’s def there)

child abandonment (1.4-5, 3.4/5, it’s also all over the place but i think those are the only major character incidents of it)

treason (1.3-5, all over the place)

the horror/tragedy of war (background, but pretty constant)

disagreeing with an integral religion/tradition (3, based on the series title, 8, and generally scattered)

the corrupting influence of power (1.4/5, possibly 7/8, others)

racism (1, 3-5, possibly others)

sexism (se, background)

patriarchal societies (se, seems to be somewhat softened based on what i’ve heard but i’m not entirely sure about this)

and more! but it starts to get stranger and this is enough to prove my point

basically everything that could go wrong does

oh yeah! child abuse also child abuse that’s a very major theme in the first series as well as during other points. and elder abuse in the first series.

okay i’ve made my point.

section three: the appeal

look. so. i think we’re kind of pastel-ify children’s literature based on movies. see, parents have to watch children’s movies with their kids, so they can’t be gritty and intense because a lot of parents will say “not for my nine year old! they can’t deal with treason!” and that seems to be bleeding into children’s literature.

but warriors is not that. it’s intense, it borders on “too gruesome for children,” and it’s from a time where kids books got to be serious and heavy and dark because they were about animals. which was great because i couldn’t find books at my reading level that weren’t too thematically difficult, so i got to read something below my reading level, but thematically too hard, so it kind of balanced out.

and then well. so. the series grows with the audience, but the books don’t grow in terms of like difficulty so new readers start deep into it and it’s a complicated thing, the fandom history is complex, but.

the appeal is that parents don’t usually read the books their kids read and so they see a book about cats and assume it’s fluff, and kids who are starved of complex content get to read hamlet-for-kids.

section four: worldbuilding/lore

oh yeah also there’s some really deep lore to explore. so there’s two bits of appeal.

i’m not doing a full world/plot summary, but i’ll explain some common elements here.

thunder/shadow/wind/riverclan: harry potter houses for cats (gryffindor, slytherin, hufflepuff, ravenclaw, except this doesn’t work for the last two but that’s fine because no one cares about them despite riverclan being pretty important in most of the books)

-kit/-paw/-star: naming conventions. everyone has a two part name. (we’ll use cinder as an example because i like the two cinders we know, even tho neither of them get to be cinderstar.) babies are -kit (cinderkit), then when they’re apprentices, which is like being a student, you know, elementary through high school, you’re paw, so cinderpaw. then you get an Official Name from ur clan leader (cinderheart). if you become clan leader, you get to be -star (cinderstar). i know i haven’t explained clan leaders bear with me. this is kind of important because i have the names burned into my memory so i cannot simply always call firestar firestar if he was firepaw at the time of the events i’m describing. it won’t be ambiguous, cinderheart/cinderpelt are a special case. if this is tricky for you it’s fine just only read the first part of the name.

clan (leader, deputy, medicine cat, elder): roles with in the clan. leaders literally have nine lives. deputies are next in line and chosen by the leader. leaders usually go through several deputies, because deputies don’t have nine lives. medicine cats are doctors. they also have an apprentice. those are all one per clan. elders are just retired cats. they’re not a special category per say, but i wanted to mention them.

warrior: adult.

warrior code: laws.

star clan: dead cats. this ties into the religion which is pretty important to the books but for the most part if you understand that dead cats get to give guidance and send their approval, you have the gist of it.

section five: so um, what the fuck

so we start with a cat named rusty who runs into the woods to join thunderclan and then his name is firepaw and we all forget that he’s named rusty except for like that one time it comes up again. bluestar is a great leader with some corrupt deputies but fireheart eventually takes care of it and becomes clan leader which is a big deal.

then a bunch of other shit happens and suddenly ashfur is possessing brackenstar and being (more) abusive to squirrelflight (who is on the outs with brackenstar anyway for lying about their kits jayfeather, hollyleaf, and lionheart because they’re actually the children of firestar’s other daughter leafpool who had them with crowfeather after she fell in love with him but he’s from windclan and she’s a medicine cat so that’s double illegal and apparently hollyleaf is alive even though she yeeted herself into a pit and died because she killed ashfur when he threatened to reveal this but couldn’t live with being the product of an illegal meeting and then it was all pointless because leafpool stopped being a medicine cat out of guilt anyway and jayfeather is just an ornery bitch about everything but especially all of this)

i’m not explaining any of that.

section six: i repeat: so um, what the fuck

so the thing about these books is they’re soap operas and dramas about cats and that means they get just as strange and chaotic as anything else in the genre. i think a lot of people like me, who read them as children, regard the series we knew as a child (usually either the first three or the first five, plus super editions) as something good and warm and comforting (despite being dark and gruesome) because they made us feel good.

they were also a breeding ground for young fandom because of all the the drama that exists and the nature of the books providing that.

section seven: super editions

the simple answer to what a super edition is has already been given (it’s a novel length one-off about a single character, and its usually either a side character - bluestar, crowfeather - or a event/perspective we don’t get to see - firestar, skyclan, greystripe - and they’re generally more mature)

my favorite super edition is bluestar’s prophecy. i read it at like 16, slinking into the children’s library with a stack of other ya fiction and a “children’s book” which dealt with unwanted pregnancy, grief, forbidden love, and more. still not sure why that’s in the children’s section.

section eight: about the drama

so there’s been a lot of fandom drama about these books. i can’t tell you about the nuances, because i am an old fan, so i watched but didn’t partake. the highlights reel that i can recall goes as follows (please note i will refer to characters by name without explanation. it’s fine. the point of this section is to convey the pettiness of this drama):

tigerstar: did he do anything wrong? (the answer is holy shit yes, this isn’t discourse, it’s okay to like a villain)

scourge: did he do anything wrong, also what color is his collar? (also yes, doesn’t matter)

was the new prophecy (2)/omen of the stars (3)/etc good? (yes, eh, no, yes, no comment, no comment)

should jaypaw or hollypaw be medicine cat apprentice (neither of them, but jaypaw’s employment opportunities are limited because he’s blind, so its gotta b him)

uhh a massive tangle around this parentage drama between squirrelflight, leafpool, brackenfur, and crowfeather, which i used as the crux of humor for how batshit the plots can get, so i’m not even going to pretend i can make it funny, but just know that it’s batshit and the correct opinion is as follows: no one is right, but squirrelflight has done the least wrong, brackenfur is an asshole to her where it’s unwarrented, and hollyleaf is an idiot

and the current drama centers around brackenstar and ashfur and is tied directly to the point above, which is why i’ve kind of given up trying to make jokes about this because this is the culmination of like 35 novels.

section nine: i feel like i need to have some conclusive point to justify writing all of this

but i don’t have one, because this was really an excuse to ramble about an old passion for like half an hour. i mean i guess i can say, like, i think younger fans are sort of embroiled in this drama they don’t really have context for, because i’m not kidding, the current drama centers around the grandchildren of our original cast.

it’s kind of hard to know why, say, mistystar matters if you don’t know that she’s the child of bluefur and oakheart and if you don’t remember the drama that surrounded that when bluestar was dying and tigerstar and leopardstar were ruling a combined shadow/riverclan.

(i really hope that’s intelligible i tried to lay the groundwork for it. basically, there’s a biracial kid in a very segregated society who becomes the leader of one of the clans. which is obviously drama, especially considering that that clan was part of a weird supremacy movement a while back.)

& you know? i really hope one of the new series gets to be like, a soft reboot. just. end the current drama and pick up again with the latest generation. a) we’re starting to run out of names, and b) i think that it’s kind of tipped over the edge of sane.

the series also used to be very low fantasy. the cat societies are reasonably close to feral cat colonies (the biggest detail is that toms don’t all have their own territory, but there’s honestly in-universe discussion of this and it’s basically a culture thing), and while star clan/religion is a real and legitimate thing, there’s also a discussion of its abuse and most of the early books don’t really use star clan/related ideas as a physical force so much as a plot device, barring, like, when a new leader gets their nine lives.

honestly, i’ll always adore these books for serving the role they did, and a lot of the series is fantastically well written. but the fandom surrounding it can be, uh, not great because 9-14 year olds don’t really have good brains to understand this.

also, i’m very sad that i can’t find the flash game that was for the great prophecy. it was not very fun, but i enjoyed playing it, so if anyone knows the url so i can search the internet archive for it, please let me know.

section ten: i’m morbidly curious but there are 56 hours of books to read, assuming a very fast reading pace, so is there something i can start with to experience this without dedicating 4 days to it?

yes, there is.

it’s called bluestar’s prophecy. it’s standalone, and i should have given you enough of a background on the lore that you don’t need to know anything else. i’ve already given away the twist in series 1 that it would spoil, so you’re all good on that front.

if you want more, or want the original experience, the first series is self contained and quite good. i’ve given the broad outlines of the plot, but trust me, there’s a lot of surprises and all sorts of things i skipped over because while i like it, it’s not exactly fandom primer material

i also enjoy firestar’s quest and skyclan’s destiny for super editions, but you’ll need to read the first series to understand FQ and FQ to understand SD, so it’s not exactly a starting point. also, SD especially deals with a very different set of themes as the other books.

also, if you were to, say, search “readwarriorcats” (no spaces) on duckduckgo, and then click on one of the first links, you know, not the official site, the one hosted on one of those free website things, you know, not wix, not wordpress, the other one, you would only find lists of the books with hyperlinks.

disclaimer: i’m bad at math and figuring out years and ages required a lot more math than i was ready for, so i’m hoping i get my timeline right ! pray for me !

born in 1915 (march 5, 1915 to be more exact - gotta get that chart), josephine’s family (the ‘nickname’ didn’t come in until later) came from generations of money earned and establishment garnered. also i have no clue what i just wrote i’m writing this first bullet last asdfhjl

when she was six, she had her first encounter with the dead or dying. she’d come across a baby bird who’d been pushed out of his nest too early and, unable to find the nest itself, decided she would pick it up and cradle it in her hands until it evidently passed on. it looked at peace. 

this is unnecessary information, but it’s good to note.

anyway, if you have the money, why not spend it? when josephine was seven, the walkers moved into a victorian mansion. the patriarch was fully under the belief that he would be the next nathaniel hawthorne –– he wasn’t worried about the family going broke while he forced them to let him focus on his writing, what considering all of the money they had at the time had been simple inheritance from generations of walkers.

(kind of important to note that the victorian era was actually... pretty recent? it ended in 1901 and this is all going down in 1922 so!)

within the mansion, they also has some much needed help –– it came with two butlers, two nannies, two maids, and two groundskeepers. they seldom had any use for the nannies.

there was definitely something off, though, and that ‘off’-ness just kept increasing over time. her mother claimed to hear things. she and her siblings claimed to see things. her father began retreating into himself... 

which is why they couldn’t move! he still had work to be done! a great novel doesn’t write itself in one year, silly! they couldn’t leave! he still needed advice!

i don’t want this intro to get super long so we’ll skip ahead about a year. suffice it to say that everyone was still on their bullshit. 

in 1925, when josephine and her twin brother were 10, her older sister was 12, and her older brother was 14, her dad full-on “heeeere’s JOHNNY”d them, then killed himself.

josephine and her twin brother (who’ll just be referred to as ‘her brother’ from this point forward) were the lone survivors of the walker family. as 10y/os, they both still fit in plenty of places that their father could never.

that being said, one of the maids had also made it unscathed. an agreement was made: they helped clean up the mess – she just couldn’t handle messes! – she would act as their guardian. josephine knew they were probably doing something wrong by cleaning it all up – cleaning up a whole-ass crime scene that included their family members – before any authorities arrived, but was she in too much shock to argue? maybe so.

after that, there were zero buyers. it was already expensive, but now there’d been a mass murder? who. 

considering the maid never left the grounds, this did put her out of work. they still had the walker inheritance to fall back on, something that had been unlocked to josephine and her brother five years later, but that was it.

we’re gonna skip ahead a little bit because this is getting long. all that’s happened of note between now and the next bullet: the maid literally never left the grounds. jo began getting called jo. she tried to go to college using some of the inheritance then dropped out. she trained to become a florist.

throughout the next many years of her life, jo began trying her hand at poetry. she ultimately failed at it, but... some people just really don’t know how to market themselves. even past attempting to truly become one, she continued writing in the hope that she might finally –– after over ten years –– make peace with the massacre.

by the time she was 25, she’d gotten married. by the time she was 25, she’d pushed everything to the back-burner. by the time she was 25, she hadn’t seen or thought of the maid in years. by the time she was 25, she was discussing starting a life with her new husband.

by the tail end of her life at 25, her brother had died.

because this is a wanted connection on the main, i’m going to leave the cause unclear.

just when she thought she’d gotten over everything, as emeril would say, ‘bam!’

her husband and friends tried to be of help, but it got to the ‘beyond’ point when she started seeing her brother

another note: on the wanted connection blurb, i made it utp whether he was ~haunting~ her or if she was just hallucinating, so we also gonna make that unclear!

two years, a divorce, and multiple burned bridges later –– jo thought she finally knew what had to be done to get it to stop. she had ‘rationalized’ it as best as she could. in a lot of lore, ghosts couldn’t move on to the next plane of existence until they’d made peace with something or other. maybe there was something integral about her?

so she greeted the maid who hadn’t aged a day in the past 27 years, then proceeded to hang herself.

 this would be kind of bittersweet tragic if it’d actually worked.

 instead, this bitch was suddenly just looking at her own body like “FUCK. I REALLY DID THAT FOR NOTHING.” and gained this sick scar that wrung around her neck like the noose had.

the maid was like “i mean ur never gonna have to worry about aging now tho so??”

as it turned out, they were just in the middle of plenty of families who’d gone mad and died in that house... as she had only figured out after she killed herself.

boy, was she mad!

all of this partial humor out of the way, for the next decades upon decades, she was at a loss. the maid said that, yes, she was physically capable of leaving, but why would she when it felt so magnetic anyway?

with this in mind... jo left. it took an extremely long time to understand how to turn visible, and then even longer to understand how to turn invisible again. apparently she didn’t need doors – like, that was new.

anyway. once she had gained an understanding of what she could and could not do (rest in peace, salt), she began just... doing everything she’d been doing while she was alive... over and over again...

every morning, she made bouquets that she wasn’t paid for. every afternoon, she visited the cemetery to lay them on the most derelict graves. every night, she went back to the mansion.

did she need to find a purpose in her ‘life’ in order to move on? was there something she needed to make peace with? or was she doomed to ‘live’ forever, doing the same things, feeling trapped by the same place?

and that, my friends, is where we leave off.

personality, we’re just going to use various tests/ideas: i knew she was a pisces, kae said she sounded like a scorpio moon – so pisces sun, scorpio moon, capricorn rising (i have a birth chart now) ; total and complete enneagram type 4 ; i honestly don’t use mbti that much anymore but probs infp ; i’m undecided between hufflepuff and gryffindor... then again, i never read the books i just know she isn’t a slytherin and ppl always forget about ravenclaw ; i think melancholic? possibly phlegmatic? j definitely not choleric or sanguine

ok, full disclosure i’m taking a bit of a tumblr break, but I wanted to do this one for a while now, so a big thanks to @katekyo-bitch-reborn for giving me the chance. 

WIP: A Better World. 

1. Describe the plot in one sentence?

Parallel universe humans visit Earth and hijinks ensue. 

2. Pick one sight, smell, sound, feel and taste to describe the aesthetic for your novel.

Sight: the night sky and sibrian tundra 

Smell: books, disinfectants, paint and blood

Sound: friendly laughter, gunshot and a desperate scream. 

Feel: scales, books and cold metal of a gun. 

Taste: burgers, hot chocolate and your own blood in your mouth. 

3. Which 3+ songs would make up a playlist for the novel?

I’m not that much of a music person, so the only real songs referenced in ABW are “Starman” by David Bowie and “Sing” by Ed Sheeran, not named by name, but both are jokes.

Instead, let me to this for Phantom Limb, my prodigal child of a novel, so you may learn some nice ex yu music (and some trash)

Ibro Dirka, by Zabranjeo Pušenje, a song about an accordion player refusing to sell his ideals. That whole album (while you wait for the dawn with the devil) is referenced too.

Ti lutaš bebo (you’re wandering baby), by maya berović. this is the lowest tier of ex yu music, but since this novel takes place in 2018 and it deals with sarajevo gayz, it would be impossible not to reference it because that is all they played for months.

Burek by Dino Merlin (look, i hate this song and I hate this guy, but this is so quintessentially Bosnian it had to be in here). also, the singer is a huge part of the novel. 

Vedran Smailović, the Cellist of Sarajevo, has a cameo, because I’m apparently a 57 year old american journalist who spent 2 weeks in Sarajevo in like 2005 and has to reference the war in their novel that takes place 20 years later.

Just put me down for a few anime soundtracks. and make it Yuri. 

4. What’s the time period and location in which the novel takes place?

Back to ABW: it takes place in the mid to late 2020, in Siberia. The sequel takes place a year later, on Jord, in what is basically Cape Town, South Africa. I have never been at either of these places. 

5. Are there any former titles you’ve considered but discarded?

The original title for this, years and years ago, was A Fallen Angel. I don’t understand it either, it was a sci fi story even back then. 

6. What’s the first line of your novel?

Being the first line of communication with an alien race wasn’t an easy job, but Dafne Everson was more than happy to do it. TBH, I’m not that happy with my first chapter. it’s a bit... info dump-y.

7. What’s a line of dialogue you’re particularly proud of? 

“-I don’t think that much has changed. You can’t change your past. That’s kind of the problem.- -But you can change the way it shapes your present-”

-Get up, fuckface, I want you off my planet.- 

-Choke on your Gucci cufflinks you twat.-

“-I don’t want to change the world.- Onisha admitted –I just want to understand it.- -You can’t understand it completely and not change it in the process.- she said. The passion was back in her eyes. That glow of manic comprehension of the world and its components reminded Onisha why she came here in the first place. Science was more than a bunch of people in lab coats doing boring equations or repeating the same experiments hundreds of times. If the initial spark didn’t exist, no one would bother. In that moment Nova was that passion personified; the drive that made Chien-Shiung Wu cancel her vacation plans to experiment with cobalt and wreck the conservation of parity; Vera Rubin’s love for stars that buried her under a mountain of data to measure galactic rotation curves and confirm the existence of Dark Matter. She was Emmy Noether, and Marrie Currie and Lise Meitner and a million other brilliant people and their passion for knowledge. She could change the world. And Onisha would help her do it. " Look, i just love my science lesbians and their passion to make a better world. 

9. Who are your character(s) faceclaims?

I don’t have a many of these, just a few I came across randomly:

Domhnall Gleeson as the young ginger man. I would like to thank Forggy for this idea. I was blinded by my basic bitch love for Tom Hiddleston.

Dwayne The Rock Johnson as the emir (president) of Jord, Kalti Forgisto. this character shows up in one scene, and has like 3 lines and i will not compromise on this. 

Lee Pace and Darren Criss were my Etah Asimov and Elazar Leos, but I recently figured out neither of these characters are fully white, even tho they are pretty pale, soooo this casting has to change pretty soon.

I’m kinda self conscious about all of my names :S

Since I have like 579 ocs, let me help myself with an explanation: Jords in general dress like the entire planet pointed a gigantic middle finger to the concept of color coordination. So, 3 categories for everyone. 

Fashion disaster: Nova, Onisha, Errien, Nika, Rohan, Dalian(first date outfit: a simple polka dotted purple tunic and striped yellow pants, Cecil Palmer school of fashion bejbi)

Neutral: Etah, John, Zeta, 

Fashion deity: Martina, Mila, Sasha, Steve, Elazar

13. Do any characters have distinctive birthmarks/scars?

Nova has a small birthmark under her eye.

Etah has a lot of self harm scars, and a big one on his wrist. 

14. Which character most fits a character trope?

Probably Etah because of what happens to him and I haaaate myself for it. 

15. Which character is the best writer? Worst?

Dafne and the ginger man. She’s a journalists, he’s a part time writer and they are pretty successful. I also love the idea and the great Artist Steve writes like an edgy 12 year old writing their first grimdark fanfic. 

16. Which character is the best liar? Worst?

Best is probably a bit spoilery. The worst is Onisha (imagine Mob, from MP100, but female, black and instead of psychic powers, she has an imminence knowledge of physics) 

17. What character swears the most? Least?

Martina will cuss you in six different languages. 

Onisha is a walking G rated film (tho, one time she cusses was so satisfying to write)

18. Which character has the best handwriting? Worst?

Steve and Etah have the best. Zeta and Liang are doctors. 

19. Which character is most like you? Least like you?

They all have something of mine, something i want and something i don’t.The most like me is probably Onisha. The least probably Zeta or Sasha.  If you want my real self inserts, look at Phantom Limb, where Danica and Alma are just the last two of my brain cells personified. 

20. Which character would you most like to be?

Interesting question. Probably put me down for Dafne Everson. She has a loving dad and sister (and a shitty mom, but who doesn’t?), a career she loves. she travels all over the world, people read her writing and love it, she has a few close friends she really loves and the weight of all the world’s secrets on her shoulders.

Logan was glad he seems to have made some friends maybe at this school he won’t sit alone during lunch.

“So what house do you guys think you be in?”

“OH I'M GOING TO BE A GRYFFINDOR” Roman shouted excitedly

“I’m going to be a Ravenclaw like the rest of my family” Anny said confidently

“I’m not sure most of my family is Hufflepuff and Gryffindors so I’ll most likely be in one of those”

“What about you logan?”

“House? What a Gryffindor? Ravenclaw? And Hufflepuff?”

“Ohh wait are you muggle-born?” Anny asked

“What a muggle born?”

“Someone who comes from a family that isn’t wizard and witches”

“Well then yes I’m what was it mug born”

Patton giggled “muggle-born. It okay lo some of my family were muggle born it nothing to be ashamed of”

“Why would I be ashamed of my family”

“And Slytherin the evil house. Ouch” Roman rub his arm where anny had hit him.

“Slytherin isn’t evil. They just have had a few really bad people in it so now everyone calls them bad. No Slytherin is ambitious they do get a lot of pureblood families that have this idea that they are worth more than others because of their blood” anny said “there some bad apples in all houses Ravenclaw had a few”

“Oh yeah that is true my brother Damian is horrible he in Ravenclaw really no one will believe me but he is a snake in the grass”

“Okay then”

“I think I’ll be Ravenclaw then”

“Oh that be good we be in the same house then”

“I’ll like that”

“I’ll like that” Logan said anny smiled she was happy to have made a friend

“We almost at Hogwarts put on your robes on” a perfect walked down the halls saying.

“Well looks like we should change”

“Lady’s first” the boys left the compartment and anny was left by herself to change. She grabs her robes and thought for a second then started to get changed she gladly took off her shirt and put on some pants. She felt better after changing and pop her head out.

“I’m done” she walked out and the boys walked in. she waited till logan pop his head out saying he could come back in. They all talked soon the train stop at Hogwarts. They walked off the train to find someone yelling for the first years. They walked over to these boats lucky for them it was four people per boat.

“Wow, the waters so pretty” Patton said sticking his head in the water. Something grabs his hand and started to pull him into the water.

“Oh no, you don’t” roman grab onto Patton and pulled hard till whatever it was let go causing the two of them to fall back into the boat.

“Wo thanks, roman”

“No problem I don’t want to lose my new friends”

“Yay we friends” Patton gave roman a hug

“Yes, that we are” Patton started to giggle.

“Wow guys look,” anny said pointing at the casts

“Cooooool”

“That is pretty neat”

“Even bigger then I imaged”

As soon as the boats docked they ran off trying to get to the front of the group.

“All right no pushing when we enter the halls you will wait till I call your name and go up to be sorted into your houses. The big doors opened and they walked into a great big hall the ceiling was like a night sky. Anny couldn’t help but gasp it looked amazing she looked around everyone else seemed in awe of it.

“Jason Colson” a short boy with black hair walked up a hat was placed on his head.

“Hmmm, where to put you.very smart thinks outside the box but also very determined and cunning” wait was the hat talking?! “I know Slytherin!!” yup that was the hat yelling loudly too.

The kids dressed in green clipped as the boy walked over and join them at the table.

“Jamie Anderson” girl with long brown hair walked up the hat was placed on her head.

“I know just where to put you. Gryffindor!!”

This when on till Patton’s name was called he walk up anny held her breath.

“Very loyal and upbeat. I know just where to put you. Hufflepuff!!” Patton skipped over to the yellow table and sat down.

“Roman Worrall” Roman run up there the hat wasn’t on his head for very long till it yelled Gryffindor. Anny was happy for him. Roman really wanted to be a Gryffindor. He happily ran over to his new housemates and sat down.

“Anny Houman” anny nervously walked up to the hat and sat down.

“Hmm” it sounded like the hate was talking in her head. “I see you want to be a Ravenclaw Tho that not a good fit”

“What?!?”

“I know just where you should go. Hufflepuff!!” the hat yelled. What no anny needed to be in Ravenclaw that where her whole family was in. her dad had always said be in Ravenclaw or if you must in Slytherin. But Hufflepuff. Her family won’t like that, not at all. Maybe she could change it.

“Um, mr. hat um I need to be in Ravenclaw”

“Sorry kid but you won’t do good in there. Plus I made up my mind I'm already called it out too late can't take it back”

“But” the hat was lifted off her head she slowly walked over to the clapping students where. “Hey I know you wanted Ravenclaw but I'm glad you can join me here in Hufflepuff,”  Patton said.

“Yeah sure” many watched the other kids go with an uninterest till she heard Logan name being called. She looked up and watched as the hat was placed on his head.

“Slytherin!!” The hat called. Oh, no poor Logan was all she could think.

You looked above you to see the sun shining through the tree branches in the Hogwarts Courtyard. It was a sunny, moderate day. You were hanging at the trunk of the tree with fellow Hufflepuffs chatting about Charms class.

"Man, I wish I could use a silencing charm on some people." Arlen said making a few of you laugh.

"Oh yeah? You wouldn't dare, Moore." Tilly laughed.

"You're probably right..." Arlen sighed giggling a little.

You looked at the end of the courtyard seeing Slytherins coming out with broomsticks. There were at least five of them. It looked like Marcus Flint, Blaise Zabini, Gregory Goyle, Vincent Crabbe, and Draco Malfoy.

"What are they doing?" You asked squinting to get a better look.

"I have no idea." Chaton said.

"Aye!" Arlen said standing up walking towards the bunch. "What're you doing?"

The rest of you stood up and walked behind Arlen.

"Just practicing, Moore. No need to freak." Flint said. Crabbe laughed at him.

They weren't technically suppose to be flying in the courtyard, but you were not about to be the one to point that out. You noticed Blaise looking around, quite bored with the conversation. Draco seemed intrigued and was staring at you, smirking. You felt your cheeks heat up and you quickly looked away. He was still staring. You wanted him to stop, you felt like you were sweating.

"I'm not freaking, just making sure no one will have to go to Madam Pomfrey." Arlen said respectively.

"Trust me, that won't be a problem. I'm pretty good at flying. I'm the seeker for Slytherin Quidditch. You probably knew that though." Draco smiled cocking his head to the side.

"How could anyone not know? It's all you talk about." Chaton snickered looking over at you. But you weren't laughing. You just wanted to go sit back under the tree and continue chatting away. Tilly saw you were a little annoyed at the length of this conversation and started walking away grabbing you.

"Make sure to watch! I'm quite impressive." Draco said smirking. You didn't even need to turn around to know he was smirking, it was obvious.

You and Tilly sat back under the tree eventually being joined by the boys. The Slytherin boys continued talking to each other. Draco got onto his broomstick and hovered over the courtyard. The others joined him and started doing tricks, like flipping and spinning in the air. They all laughed and joked around. Your friends continued to have a conversation about Divination. You were busy staring at the boys in the air. Every few minutes Draco looked down at you and smiled. When this happened, you quickly looked away but found yourself staring again, repeating the cycle of events. For some reason, you felt like you couldn't look away from that blonde boy. But he was distracting you.

"Okay, see you later, Y/N." Tilly said smiling.

"Bye." Arlen and Chaton both said.

As you were walking away, you looked up at Draco one more time and saw him already staring. He seemed a little disappointed but kept flying around. He was hoping to captivate you enough so you'd stay and watch, but it didn't work.

You walked back into the Hufflepuff common room and went up to your room. You put your books on your desk and laid down onto your bed. You felt tired and your eyelids slowly got heavier, putting you to sleep.

You woke up seeing your room empty still, realizing it must be dinner time. You fixed your hair and headed downstairs to the Great Hall. You were right, it was time for dinner. You felt a little hungry as well. You sat down at the Hufflepuff table with your friends and started eating some pork right away. You grabbed some salad and mashed potatoes as well.

"Why is he coming over here?" Tilly asked looking confused. You looked up to see Draco Malfoy heading towards you.

"It can't be good, whatever it is." Chaton said. You just rolled your eyes at his comments.

Draco stopped behind Tilly, whom was sitting to your left.

"Hi, lads." Draco nodded his head to the boys. "Tilly." He stopped and looked at you. "Y/N." He flashed his smile at you.

"Hello." You said feeling your face turn red, again.

"Mind if I join you?" He continued smiling at you.

"Um, no, go ahead." You hesitated. Why did he want to sit with you?

He sat down next to you and you didn't know what to do.

"Can I get you anything to drink, love? I just learned a new spell, want to see it?" He asked seeming excited and eager.

"Um sure, water? I don't really drink anything else." You smiled, trying to not feel so bashful.

"Sure thing, love." He smiled pulling out his wand. He took your cup and placed it in front of him. He focused and then said, "Aguamenti!" Immediately water shot out of the head of his wand, filling the cup up. But Draco suddenly shot back and feel to the ground with a great thud.

"Draco!" You yelled running over to him.

He was laying on his arm and groaning out, "My arm." He looked up at you quickly wiping away the distraught look of pain on his face.

"Are you okay?" You asked holding his arm.

"I'm fine, I'm fine. Just a tiny fault." He said trying to get up but fell back onto his arm, hurting it even more.

"No, I'm going to take you to Madam Pomfrey. You definitely broke your arm." You said trying to help him up.

"Thank you, love." Draco smiled. You smiled back and carefully helped him up.

"See, this is what we meant by going to Madam Pomfrey's, Draco. Better luck next time." Chaton chuckled in a brutish tone.

"Oh shut it, Chaton! Stop being so thick." You scolded at him.

Draco giggled a little at Chaton's shocked expression. As you helped Draco out of the Great Hall he thanked you again.

"I don't think your friends are real fond of me." He sighed.

"They'll get over it. What does it matter anyway?" You asked.

"I would just prefer to be liked, or even tolerable." He answered.

"Yea, I get that but why does it matter? It's not like you're going to be around us a lot..." You trailed off into thought.

Draco laughed at your confused expression.

"Blimey, you are adorable. I like you, Y/N. That's why it matters. I think you're the only one who hasn't realized that I fancy you." He smiled over at you.

"You, you do?" You said shocked. "I mean, you do?" You said cooly, or at least attempting to.

Draco chuckled again, "Of course I do. I think you're marvelous, very fit may I add." He was now smirking at you as your cheeks heated up.

"Oh." You said and cleared your throat. "Thank you, I think you're quite tidy yourself."

He smiled at you, "Thank you, dear. Would you like to go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend? I think we'd have a good time."

"I would love that. It's a date." You said arriving outside of Madam Pomfrey's door.

"It's a date. Now, if you wouldn't mind waiting with me?" He asked.

"I wouldn't mind. Maybe this could be our first date?" You giggled.

"How romantic." He smiled as you walked him into Madam Pomfrey's room.

BTS Hogwarts!AU

Okay so this is going to be an idea dump, I don’t actually have any fics in mind for this (or at least none yet but who knows). Basically, I’ve seen a couple of hogwarts houses castings for the BTS boys and I wanted to do one of my own with my reasons for each casting. These are - of course - just my personal opinions. Hope you guys enjoy! Disclaimer: I’m doing this on mobile so i’ll prolly have to go back and edit it a bit later if it seems weird. You all know what a bitch mobile is :/ - Jin: Gryffindor. I think a lot of people tend to create these one-dimensional ideas for idols in their heads (not on purpose or anything but it happens) and Jin is certainly a HUGE victim of this trend. A lot of people tend to oversimplify him as sweet and kind and motherly - which he can be. But Jin can also be kind of a dick, which I fucking love. He doesn’t actually take any shit from anyone and that doesn’t at all take away from how kind and good a person he is or how much he cares for others. He’s just kinda an asshole as well. Jin is bold and confident and also chivalrous. Kind and good, but can be an ass too. Way too into himself for his own good and also sometimes overcompensates. - Yoongi: Hufflepuff. Yoongi is usually put in Slytherin and I totally get that: cunning, ambitious, resourceful. But when I was brushing up on the core values of each house, I read literally the opening description of Hufflepuff and if that didn’t scream the real Yoongi to me idk what did. “Hufflepuff values hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play.” He fudges a bit on the fair play (cheating lil shit), but everything else makes so, so much sense to me. I think he’d be a Hufflepuff, but one of the ones people see as an outlier; like the sorting doesn’t seem to make any sense until you actually get to know him and then it makes all the sense in the entire world. - Hoseok: Slytherin. This one took me a while to decide on, actually and i’ll explain why. I think Hobi can be a lot of things. Like he could 100% be a Hufflepuff and that’s where he is most often sorted. But also he’d actually make a really good Slytherin and he’d make a good Gryffindor, too, and you could even make an argument for him being in Ravenclaw. He has qualities that pertain to every house and qualities that contradict every house, too. I think Hobi would be one of those people who gets sorted into a house because he WANTS to be there because he could be good in any house. I was caught between Hufflepuff and Slytherin mostly. In the end I went with Slytherin because the concept of Hoseok in that house fascinates me. He’s also another victim of people shoehorning him into one dimension/idea. Yeah, Hobi is literal sunshine and loud and goofy and cheerful, but his members have also often said that he’s vicious and you don’t want to mess with him or catch him when he’s in a mood because he’ll whip your ass. Hoseok is pretty freaking bullheaded af and he’s definitely ambitious. - Namjoon: Ravenclaw. You could make a really great argument for him being a Gryffindor, but I’m going to have to stick with the quintessential casting of him as a Ravenclaw. I think Namjoon is driven by seeking knowledge and he’s just very much one of those people who is super a model of what their house represents. He also seems very much like a person who goes through life breaking things down into problems and solutions and we all know he spends most of his time on twitter philosophizing about life, etc. - Jimin: Slytherin. Jimin is another one who kind of can have an argument made to place him in almost all the houses (excluding Ravenclaw, imo, I just don’t think it fits him). However, I actually think he would be Slytherin more than anything else. Jimin super dedicated to his craft and he fights for it. He’s such a hard working and he’s ambitious as all hell and he’s always fighting to improve himself. Jimin just has this strong, unbendable resolve to always be better and strive for perfection that I think would be so well-honed in Slytherin. - Taehyung: Gryffindor. Gryffindor all the way. Loud, brash, bold, unapologetic. Taehyung isn’t afraid at all to take leaps and chances. I’ve seen a lot of people sort him into Hufflepuff as well, but I kind of think he’d be a Gryffindor. He’d be the really weird kid in Gryffindor tho, but not the one you would question as to why he’s there in the first place. - Jungkook: Ravenclaw. Okay, okay, I know this one seems super out of left field. People usually cast him as Gryffindor or Slytherin (both of which I get), but I think he’d be such a great Ravenclaw and hear me out. So there’s this basic idea/theory that the Sorting Hat either sorts you based on qualities you have or qualities you admire and strive for. Ravenclaw’s core essentials are wit and knowledge and intelligence. People are always up his ass about how he isn’t good at math, but Jungkook is smarter than hell and he obviously admires that trait highly. He admires the hell out of Namjoon for his intelligence. He’s also super witty, another trait he highly admires. It’s evident as hell if you just watch him, at least to me. So I’m sticking with him in Ravenclaw. Also, it’s very appealing to me that he’d be in a house with Namjoon. A FEW OTHER RANDOM DETAILS OF THIS UNIVERSE: - Jin would be a prefect for Gryffindor - He would also be that super, crazy popular guy everyone is batshit in love with - the one you’d hate from afar and gag and be like “ugh why do people degrade themselves over such a conceited prick??” - but then you can’t help being charmed by and totally getting a crush (regular, friend, boy, etc. all and ay type of crush) on when you actually get to know him - Namjoon would also be a prefect for Ravenclaw - and he’d be that super chill prefect everyone admires the hell out of - the one who lets a lot of stupid shit slide - but will 100% call you out when you fuck up - and then you feel small and you hate that you feel like you disappointed him - yoongi would probably be a prefect for hufflepuff too (nerd ❤️) - Yoongi’s and jimin and hoseok hang around all the time - like theyre this sort of click - inseparable - you very much want to sit with them at lunch except how could you??? you are in no way on their level ffs pls look at them - so many ppl constantly ask Yoongi why hes not in slytherin - and hobi and jimin are always like "yeah yoongs why arent you in the best house ever ?? Hyuk hyuk hyuk" - and Yoongi just rolls his eyes and just spits out a savage ass comment and walks away as the other two idiots follow still laughing - because jimin and Hobi would be annoyingly loud about their house loyalty - like they’d always mention it and always bring it up like.... - "srsly stfu no one cares how much you wish you could suck Salazar Slytherin's cock" - "i would totally suck his cock you're just jealous that his was bigger than your stupid founder's cock anyway hahahaha" - Hobi and jimin would also be on the quidditch team - both chasers - craaaaaaaazy good - untouchable - wow - such grace in the air, such finesse, such speed - taehyung would be on the Gryffindor quidditch team except he'd 1000000% be a beater - he'd have girls (and guys lbrh) eating out of his hand swooning over him - "omg he's so sweet and so good-looking and so funny !!!!!" - "such a puppy" - "what a gentle precious soul" - "uuuuhhh...... he literally knocked some dude unconscious last game" - "an obvious misunderstanding for he is a gentle pup" - jungkook would be the seeker for ravenclaw - golden maknae takes whole new meaning - the other teams would constantly be accusing him of cheating because - "how tf does he always find fucking snitch so fast ????? def cheating" - super admired and fawned over - gets lots of... attention........... if ya catch my drift - except he's an awkward shy moron who doesn't do well meeting new people - often shelters himself behind namjoon, who - lbh -isnt any help - completely different on and off the field - crazy intelligent but kind of a mess in class actually - "how are you even a Ravenclaw??" - "stfu tae eat dick like you're such a great student" - omg i'm crying excuse me thats the end for now

NAH i feel it to be absolutely necessary tbh. when i don’t read, i don’t write nearly as often and sometimes not even as well. i find other books to be rly healthy friendly competition, and when i read, immediately after i think ‘why isn’t my stuff published? why isn’t my book on the shelves with this one? i should get to work holy fuck’

depends! again, narcissistic, but i’ve gotten better and i do want to learn more. as long as it’s constructive and, by constructive, i mean that it still compliments me a lot and gives me the good AND the not-so-good then it’s fine, i get motivated. i never get discouraged, i’m either hype or i’m livid, which gives me evil hype and i write more outta spite haha

i just get... the vibe... where suddenly i wanna work on a story so i do. sometimes i can tell a story isn’t ready so even if i feel like working on it, i won’t, but otherwise, i just wait for the vibe...
