Sometimes I think to just ride a bus and find myself sitting down as the world passes by with no destination in mind. Id just watch as people pass and go and the outside world haze by.
There is a heavy weight that eases during such tides that often I feel like just sitting and ignore the fact that Ive arrived. But there are places to go people to see that makes me come down again and again.
But I think it would be nice to just float by like a cloud and just watch idly as I pass by.
There is the people of the sun, moon and stars.
Id like to be a cloud that has the chance to greet and exist through all three during their time
#i do believe i was a cloud in my spirit life#just floating idly by and eatching the world as it lives its life#reclecting the beauty of the sun and the sky#and when I feel heavy I release my weight and greet people down below#i say hi#and then I cycle through#be a cloud once again

just thinking about grumpy!aemond x sunshine niece!reader, that's all
Intimidating uncle who only smiles for his sweet niece?? How can I refuse? :> I hope u like it anon
Synopsis: Aemondâs icy demeanor softens as his playful niece, Y/n, brings joy and warmth into his life through her persistence and tender moments.
Aemond x Niece!Reader
The vast expanse of the Red Keep stretched before them, a labyrinthine structure of ancient stone and intricate tapestries of the Targaryens rich history. Within its cold, echoing halls, moved with his customary stoic grace, his singular eye perpetually narrowed, his demeanor perpetually grave. It was a disposition well-suited to his character, a shield against the tumultuous world he inhabited. Yet, like a glimmer of sunlight piercing through storm clouds, his niece, y/n, was a stark contrast to his brooding presence.
Y/nâs laughter echoed through the halls as she flitted about, a vision of radiance and mirth. Her wit was as sharp as Valyrian steel, and her spirit as unyielding as dragonfire. She was a beacon of joy in a court often shrouded in intrigue and gloom, and though many found solace in her presence, Aemond was not among them. Or so he would have others believe.
The gardens of the Red Keep were a sanctuary for y/n, a place where she could escape the stifling formality of court life. She found Aemond there one afternoon, standing by a marble fountain, his expression as inscrutable as ever. With a mischievous smile, she approached him.
âMy dear uncle, why do you always seem to be plotting the downfall of the Seven Kingdoms?â she quipped, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
Aemondâs eye flicked towards her, his lips pressed into a thin line. âI find little cause for humor, niece. Unlike you, I am not so easily distracted by frivolity.â
âFrivolity?â she repeated, her tone playful. âSurely, you do not think the pursuit of happiness to be frivolous, Uncle. It is the very essence of life!â
He huffed, turning his gaze back to the fountain. âHappiness is a fleeting illusion, y/n. It is duty and strength that endure.â
âAh, but what is duty without joy? What is strength without laughter? A kingdom built on sorrow and scowling faces is a kingdom doomed to fallâ she countered, her voice gentle yet firm.
Aemondâs expression softened ever so slightly, a fleeting hint of amusement in his eye. âYou are relentless, arenât you?â
âRelentless? Perhaps. Or simply persistent in my never ending quest to make you smileâ she replied with a toothy grin. âI believe there is a smile hidden somewhere beneath that scowl.â
Aemond arched an eyebrow. âYou overestimate your abilities, niece.â
âAnd you underestimate mine, uncleâ she shot back, her tone light but her words carrying a subtle challenge.
Days turned into weeks, and y/nâs persistence in engaging Aemond in conversation did not wane. She would find him in the library, poring over ancient tomes, and offer her commentary on the latest court gossip. She would join him during his solitary walks along the battlements, teasing him about the weight of his thoughts.
One evening, as they dined with the royal family, y/nâs quick wit came to the fore once more. The courtiers were discussing a recent skirmish at the border, the atmosphere laden with a slight tension. Aemondâs expression was particularly dour, his mind clearly occupied with strategic considerations.
âUncle Aemondâ y/n began, her tone deceptively innocent, âdo you believe the enemy quakes in fear of your legendary glare? Perhaps we should send a portrait of you to the battlefield. It might end the war without any bloodshed.
A ripple of laughter spread around the table, even King Viserys chuckling at her jest. Aemondâs lips twitched, the barest hint of a smile breaking through his stern facade.
âYou have a dangerous tongue, y/nâ he said quietly, though there was no malice in his voice.
âOnly when it is necessary to cut through the gloomâ she replied with a wink.
Despite himself, Aemond found his defenses weakening. There was something irresistible about y/nâs unwavering cheerfulness, her ability to find light in the darkest corners. She was not deterred by his gruffness, nor intimidated by his icy demeanor. Instead, she met him with a courage and joy that was both infuriating and captivating.
One evening, as the sun set over the Blackwater Bay, they found themselves alone on the roof. Y/n leaned against the balcony, her eyes reflecting the golden hues of the sunset.
âDo you ever tire of being so serious, Uncle?â she asked softly.
Aemond sighed, his gaze fixed on the horizon. âIt is not a matter of choice, y/n. The burdens I bear are heavy, the responsibilities immense.â
âAnd yet, you bear them with such strength. But even the strongest warriors need respiteâ she said, turning to face him. âAllow yourself a moment of peace, Aemond. If not for your sake, then for mine.â
He looked at her then, truly looked at her, and saw the sincerity in her eyes. The walls he had built around his heart began to crack, ever so slightly. Perhaps there was wisdom in her words, a truth he had long ignored.
âVery well,â he conceded, a faint smile gracing his lips. âFor your sake, I shall try.â
Y/n beamed, her joy infectious. âThat is all I ask, dear Uncle.â
In that moment, he found a glimmer of happiness he had thought lost forever. As he leaned closer to her, their breaths mingling, he felt an unfamiliar but welcome warmth.
With a gentle tilt of his head, he closed the distance between them, capturing her lips in a tender kiss. The world around them seemed to fade, leaving only the two of them.
They drew back slightly, their foreheads touching, and Aemond could not suppress a soft chuckle.
âIt appears youâve managed to disarm me with a kissâ he said, his tone lighthearted.
Y/nâs eyes sparkled with mischief as she responded, âI had hoped that a kiss would be more effective than a sword. It seems Iâve found a more persuasive weapon.â
Aemond raised an eyebrow with a playful grin. âAm I to expect a steady stream of kisses to temper my seriousness?â
âOnly if it ensures that youâre less somberâ her smile teasing. âBut fret not, I shall reserve my attacks for the most opportune moments.â
âSpecial occasions, then?â he inquired with mock seriousness. âI shall need to prepare for such events.â
Y/nâs laughter was light and musical. âIndeed, but for now, simply relish this one. It appears to be quite effective.â
Aemond shook his head, still smiling. âYour talent for lightening my mood is alarming. I may have to enlist you as my personal jester.â
âAnd here I thought I was merely your charming nieceâ she retorted in faux indignation, giving him a gentle nudge.
âCharming niece and occasional troublemakerâ he corrected, âbut I find I am quite content with both.â
Their shared laughter filled the space between them, making the dayâs burdens seem lighter.

You sit beside your sister, your gaze cast toward the window where the distant waves of the sea crash against the shores of Dragonstone. The sunlight, filtered through heavy clouds, is gentle on your skin as the salt air brushes your face. The wounds you sustained at Rookâs Rest have begun to healâyour body mending faster than your spirit. Every breath still carries a phantom ache, reminding you of how you fell from Silverwingâs back, the cries of dragons echoing in your ears as death nearly claimed you.
Rhaenyra sits close, her face etched with remorse. She hasnât been the same since Rookâs Rest, the burden of guilt gnawing at her. You see it in the way her fingers fidget, how she canât meet your eyes for long before looking away. Sheâs your sisterâyour queenâand you know the weight she carries. But you do not hold her responsible for the choices that led to that fateful battle. It was war, and war spares no one, even the innocent.
âI should have never let you go,â Rhaenyra whispers, her voice thick with regret. âIt should have been Rhaenys. Not you. It was my decision that put you in harmâs way.â
âRhaenyra,â you reply, your tone soft but firm. âYou did what you thought was right. We cannot turn back time, nor can we carry blame that doesnât belong. It was my choice, too. And I would do it again, even knowing the cost.â
Your words hang in the air, but they do little to soothe her troubled heart. The silence stretches, heavy with unspoken thoughts, until you find the courage to speak what has truly been gnawing at you.
âGwayne Hightower,â you begin, lifting your eyes to meet hers. âYou must release him from the dungeons.â
Rhaenyraâs expression tightens at the name. The guilt in her eyes shifts to something more conflicted, more political. âIt isnât as simple as that, Y/N. He betrayed his own House, his blood, to bring you back here. Daemonââ
âDaemon,â you interrupt, bitterness lacing your tone despite your attempt to remain calm. âDaemon has imprisoned him, forbade me from even setting foot near the dungeons. He practically bought the loyalty of the guards to keep me away! But you are the Queen, Rhaenyra. Daemon may be my husband, but you hold the power.â
Rhaenyraâs brow furrows, and for a moment, the sister you know peeks through the layers of the ruler she has become. âAnd if I were to free him, what then? Daemon will see it as defiance. You know how he isâhe will not take kindly to having his authority challenged, even by me.â
Your heart aches at the thought of Gwayne, alone and confined, after all he sacrificed for you. A man who went against everything he was raised to believe to save you from certain death, only to be thrown into a cell by the very people he saved you for. âHe did not deserve this. He did what he did for me, and now he is paying the price. Rhaenyra, please. He doesnât deserve to rot in those dungeons. He saved my life.â
Before she can respond, Grand Maester Gerardys enters, his expression grim. âYour Grace,â he says with a deep bow. âA ship bearing the banners of Aegon II has docked in the harbor. Prince Daemon has gone to meet them, with his men.â
Rhaenyra stiffens, but your thoughts drift to Daemon, and what this meeting could mean. Your gaze darkens at the thought of your husbandâhow he holds Gwayneâs fate in his hands. Heâs always been a tempestuous man, fierce and unyielding. The very traits that once drew you to him now feel like iron chains wrapped around your heart.
You watch as Gerardys takes his leave, the room falling silent once more. âDaemon may be the one to hold him prisoner, but I will not let this stand,â you murmur, more to yourself than to Rhaenyra. The decision settles like a stone in your chest. You have to do something. You owe Gwayne that much.
Daemon strides down the rocky path that leads toward the harbor, his cloak snapping in the breeze. The sea roars beneath, a fitting backdrop to the turmoil within his mind. His steps are sure, his presence commanding as always, but there is a tension between his shouldersâan unease thatâs hard to shake. Vaeron, your son, walks beside him, mirroring his posture. Boyâs gaze is distant, his thoughts clearly elsewhere, but he keeps stride with Daemon, a silent observer to the storm brewing within.
âRemember what Iâve taught you,â Daemon says, his voice low but carrying authority. âIn these dealings, never let them see weakness. We do not bend to those who would see us destroyed.â
Vaeron nods, but his thoughts are torn. He has spent his life idolizing Daemon, the man he believed to be his father. But now that illusion is shattered, replaced by the knowledge that his true father sits rotting in the dungeons beneath their feet. The revelation has left him conflicted, struggling to reconcile the man he loves with the man who has imprisoned his blood.
âWhat will you do with him?â Vaeron asks, his voice careful, testing the waters.
Daemonâs eyes flicker with a dangerous light. âWith Otto Hightower? Or with the man who abandoned his oaths to save your mother?â
âThe latter,â Vaeron clarifies, though he knows the question risks Daemonâs ire.
Daemonâs expression hardens. âGwayne Hightower is a traitor, no matter his reasons. He made his choice when he turned his back on the Greens. Such a man is not to be trusted lightly.â
âAnd yet he saved her,â Vaeron says, his voice dropping. âWould you have let her die, had he not intervened?â
Daemonâs steps slow, and he turns to face Vaeron, his eyes narrowing. âMind your tongue, boy. There are things you do not understand.â
âI understand enough,â Vaeron counters, his voice tinged with defiance. âYou taught me that loyalty is everything. But Gwayneâs loyalty was to her, not to a cause, not to a side in this war. Can you not see the worth in that?â
Daemonâs jaw clenches, his patience fraying. âYou forget yourself, Vaeron. This war is not a matter of sentiment. Your motherâs survival matters because of what she representsâour family, our claim. If you think Gwayne Hightower acted out of love, then you are as naive as you are young.â
Vaeronâs hands curl into fists at his sides, but he keeps his emotions in check. This is the man who raised him, who taught him strength, yet in this moment, all he feels is a cold distance between them. Daemon sees only the war, the struggle for power. But Vaeron sees something elseâsomething more human in the man who risked everything for his mother.
As they near the harbor, the banners of Aegon II come into view, and with them, Otto Hightowerâs grim countenance. Daemonâs focus sharpens, his thoughts already turning to the game of strategy ahead. Vaeron falls silent, but in his heart, the conflict festers.Â
The wind whips through the banners of Aegon II as they flutter in the sharp sea breeze, the air thick with tension. Otto Hightower stands at the head of his retinue, his face carved from stone, the faintest flicker of unease buried deep within his shrewd eyes. He is older now, his hair nearly all grey, but the calculating sharpness in his gaze has not dulled. Daemon approaches with that characteristic swagger, a predator prowling toward prey, flanked by his guards and with Vaeron at his side. The contrast between them is starkâDaemon, vibrant in his ruthlessness, while Otto wears the weariness of his long-fought battles.
Otto speaks first, his voice carrying the authority of years spent in the small council chamber, dictating the fates of lesser men. "Prince Daemon, I come on behalf of my King to negotiate the release of my son, Ser Gwayne Hightower."
Daemonâs lips curl into a mocking smile. "Negotiate?" He laughs, the sound rough and laced with dark humor. "You truly believe you are in any position to negotiate, old man? What is it that you offer in exchange for a traitor? Perhaps another decrepit stronghold that falls to ruin as we speak?"
Otto's jaw tightens, but he remains composed, his voice cool. "You underestimate what Gwayneâs return means to the Greens. A gesture of goodwill in such tumultuous times could open pathways you might find advantageous."
Daemonâs amusement only grows, his eyes gleaming with wicked delight. "Goodwill? From you? Thatâs as valuable as a beggarâs coin. Come now, Otto, surely you didnât travel all this way just to insult my intelligence. Speak plainly, before I grow bored and send you back to Kingâs Landing with nothing more than salt air in your lungs."
Vaeron stands to the side, his gaze flicking between the two men. Inside, a storm churns. He has known Daemonâs temper his whole life, the simmering cruelty always ready to break the surface. Yet today, that same temperament is turned toward negotiations that directly concern the man who is his true father. The words spoken twist in his mindââtraitor,â âexchange,â as if Gwayne were nothing more than a pawn to be bartered, his life subject to whims and strategies. Vaeron keeps his expression neutral, as Daemon taught him, but beneath it all, the confusion gnaws at him.
Otto, sensing that he must tread carefully, adjusts his approach. "You dismiss too quickly what might be gained from a show of mercy, Prince Daemon. Your position, while strong, is not unassailable. A trade, even a gesture, could ease the tension between our forces. And you would gain much in return for sparing Gwayneâs life."
Daemon narrows his eyes, his amusement slipping away, replaced by cold calculation. "And what is it that you think I desire so much that I would let a Hightower return to his family? More land? An empty promise of peace? We both know that Gwayneâs life is worth more to you than any temporary truce you could offer."
Ottoâs voice drops lower, becoming the tone of a man who has orchestrated more than one coup from the shadows. "There are things we could discussâterms that could shift the tide of this war, perhaps even ending it in a way that leaves the realm less fractured. Aegon is willing to be reasonable if it means preserving our shared interests."
Daemonâs smile returns, this time sharper, more dangerous. "You think I care for shared interests? I care only for victoryâunquestionable, complete. I care for the destruction of every man, woman, and child who stands between me and that victory. Gwayneâs life is a grain of sand on that battlefield. You know it, and so do I. The only reason he breathes is because my wife begged me not to have his head on a spike the moment he arrived on Dragonstone."
Vaeron stiffens, eyes fixed on Daemonâs profile, a silent witness to the deep ruthlessness within the man he once saw only as a hero. But now, he sees the cracksâhow Daemon views everyone as a piece to be sacrificed for his goals, no matter the cost to their souls. He swallows hard, forcing his voice to remain steady. "And what of mercy, Father? Does it not hold any value in this war? Or is it all to be blood and fire until none are left standing?"
Daemon turns sharply to regard Vaeron, his expression unreadable, a flash of something indiscernible crossing his eyes. "Mercy is for the weak, boy. Those who offer it do so only when they have nothing left to give. Do you believe Gwayne deserves mercy for betraying his family, his House, for a fleeting moment of sentiment?"
Vaeron meets Daemonâs gaze, unflinching. "I believe that loyalty beyond reason deserves acknowledgment. Even in war, there are choices that define a man. He chose herâhe chose my mother. If that is treason, then perhaps we are all traitors in our own ways."
Daemon studies his son with a shrewd gaze, weighing those words. The silence stretches until Otto steps forward, seizing the opening Vaeron has created.
âLet me look upon my son, Prince Daemon. Let me see the man who has caused this⌠conflict. If nothing else, I would know whether the man I seek to retrieve is worth the trouble. Bring him up from those dungeons, and if you wish, you can watch as I confront what my son has become.â
The corners of Daemonâs mouth twitch upward in a grin that holds no mirth, only cold amusement. âVery well, Otto. Iâll indulge this request. Let you see what has become of the son you so poorly raised. But do not mistake this for mercy, nor a sign of weakness.â
He turns to one of his men, gesturing with a flick of his hand. âBring him up, but keep him chained. Let his father see what the consequences are for those who betray their kin for a momentâs folly.â
As the command is relayed, Ottoâs mask of composure remains intact, but there is something strained in the tightness around his mouth. Vaeron watches, his heart pounding, knowing that soon he will come face-to-face once more with the man who has haunted his thoughts since learning the truth. The man who is more than just his motherâs savior but is also the father he never knew.
The minutes stretch painfully, each one heavy with anticipation. The creak of footsteps echoes through the stone as the guards finally return, dragging Gwayne Hightower from the depths. The man who emerges is a shadow of the knight he once wasâhis face gaunt, his clothes tattered, and his once-proud bearing diminished beneath the weight of his chains. But despite his disheveled state, there is a spark in Gwayneâs eyes, a defiance that has not been extinguished.
Ottoâs gaze is icy, but there is a flicker of somethingâregret, perhaps, or shameâas he regards the man before him. âYouâve disgraced us all, Gwayne. For what? For a woman who was never yours to protect?â
Gwayneâs voice is hoarse from disuse, but it still carries strength. âFor a woman worth more than all the crowns and thrones in the world. If that is a disgrace, then so be it.â
Daemonâs laughter rings out, cold and mocking. âHear that, Otto? Even chained and broken, he clings to his foolish convictions. This is what you came forâthis pathetic display of misguided loyalty.â
Vaeron watches the exchange, torn between anger and a deep, aching sadness. The man before him is no longer the fearsome knight from the stories but a father who sacrificed everything for a fleeting chance to save someone he loved. The realization sinks in like a stoneâthis war, this endless cycle of violence, leaves no room for anything as simple as honor or love. Itâs all twisted, corrupted by the ambitions of those who claim to know best.
The tension in the air crackles like the distant storm clouds gathering over the horizon. Gwayne Hightower stands before his father, closer now than he has been in years, his once-strong frame worn by weeks of confinement. He walks with a limp, the weight of chains dragging at his wrists, but there is still a pride in his bearing, a defiant spark that refuses to die.
Daemon watches the exchange with a calculating smile, his eyes flicking between father and son, delighting in the bitter reunion.Â
Otto closes the distance, gripping Gwayne by the arm with a roughness that belies the controlled facade he wears. The old manâs eyes burn with a fury tempered by long years of cold, strategic thinking. âHave you lost your mind, Gwayne?â he hisses, his voice low, sharp as a daggerâs edge. âAll your life, youâve chased after her like some lovesick fool. You could never accept that Viserys refused your suit, that she was never meant for you!â
Gwayneâs expression barely shifts, but the muscle in his jaw twitches, a hint of the rage he has long kept buried beneath duty and restraint. He leans closer, ignoring the sting of Ottoâs grip, and murmurs, his voice so low only his father can hear, âThe boy standing next to Daemon is my son, Father. And that is all that matters now. My fate is inconsequential.â
Ottoâs eyes widen, his breath catching as though he has been struck. For a moment, his iron composure fractures, disbelief and horror warring on his face. He releases Gwayne, recoiling as if the revelation has physically burned him. His gaze snaps toward Vaeron, the truth now laid bare, searing into him like a brand. The boyâno, the young manâis not just the child of Daemonâs wife; he is a Hightower. His grandson.
Vaeron meets Ottoâs gaze briefly, not fully understanding what has just transpired but sensing the seismic shift in the atmosphere. Daemon notices the exchange and narrows his eyes, his amusement giving way to suspicion. His grip tightens on the hilt of his sword, as if ready to end this farce with a single stroke.
Otto recovers quickly, his face once again a mask of practiced indifference, but there is a tremor in his voice when he speaks, barely contained. âYouâve doomed us all, Gwayne. Do you have any idea what youâve done? You threw away everythingâyour name, your familyâs honor, for what? To save a woman who could never be yours? A child you will never truly claim?â
Gwayneâs gaze is steady, unflinching. âI would do it again, Father. A thousand times over if it meant protecting her and our son. You can call me mad, you can brand me a traitor, but I regret nothing.â
Ottoâs eyes darken as he processes the full scope of what has been revealed. He turns slowly to Daemon, who watches him with the cold eyes of a dragon ready to pounce. Otto studies Vaeron with renewed interest, seeing him now not just as a pawn but as a potential key to unraveling this web. He tries to capitalize on this revelation, his voice taking on a more calculated tone. âIt seems, Prince Daemon, that the boy youâve raised as your own has more complicated parentage than we knew. Perhaps this presents an opportunityâone thatââ
Daemonâs face hardens instantly, his lips curling into a snarl. âDo not presume to speak of him as a bargaining chip, Hightower. I care nothing for your intrigues, nor do I care for whatever misguided sentiment your son clings to.â He steps forward, his voice dropping to a deadly whisper. âYou came for your son, and Iâve given you this moment to see the disgrace he has become. But do not mistake this for weakness. Gwayne Hightower is nothing more than a broken tool, and Iâve no use for broken things.â
Otto opens his mouth to argue, but the steel in Daemonâs eyes leaves no room for discussion. He knows better than to push further when the dragonâs teeth are bared. Reluctantly, he pulls back, the wheels of strategy already turning in his mind, but knowing this is not the moment to press.
Daemon turns sharply to his guards. âTake him back to the dungeons. Let him rot where he belongs.â
The guards move swiftly, seizing Gwayne by the arms. Before they drag him away, Gwayne locks eyes with Vaeron one last time, a silent exchange passing between them. There is no plea for understanding, no attempt at explaining what words cannot convey. Just a lookâa father recognizing his son, and a son realizing the depth of what was sacrificed for him.
The confrontation ends not in bloodshed, but with Daemonâs final, sardonic remark. âYouâve seen your son, Otto. Now crawl back to Kingâs Landing and tell your king that mercy is the last thing youâll ever find on Dragonstone.â
Otto holds his gaze for a moment longer, then turns on his heel, a man who has measured his options and found them lacking. As he departs, Gwayne is dragged back toward the dungeons, his chains rattling with every step.Â
In that instant, Vaeron knows that the next time they meet, it will not be as strangers, but as something far more complicatedâsomething that even Daemon may not be able to control.
The clinking of chains and the rough shuffling of boots against stone echo through the courtyard as Gwayne is dragged back toward the dungeons. His face is set in grim determination, resigned to his fate, yet his eyes still hold that sparkâthe fire of a man who has found something more precious than victory in war. The guards are silent, their expressions hard and unreadable, loyal to their princeâs orders, despite whatever inner conflict they may harbor.
But as they round a corner, the way is blocked. Standing firm are Rhaenyra and you, their Queen and her sister. The two womenâs presence immediately shifts the air, tension snapping taut like a drawn bowstring. The guards pause, uncertain, as their gazes flicker between Rhaenyraâs command and the one issued earlier by Daemon.
Rhaenyraâs voice rings out, clear and commanding. âRelease him to Otto Hightower. He is to leave Dragonstone at once.â
The guards stiffen, the weight of conflicting orders hanging heavy on their shoulders. âYour Grace,â one of them ventures, his voice laced with hesitation, âPrince Daemonâs orders were clear. Ser Gwayne is not to be released.â
You step forward, eyes blazing with resolve. âAnd who is your Queen? Who commands this keep? You will do as she says or face the consequences. Daemonâs orders hold no weight when the Queen herself speaks.â
Thereâs a moment of palpable tension as the guards exchange uncertain glances. But the authority in Rhaenyraâs gaze, coupled with your fierce insistence, finally breaks their hesitation. They nod reluctantly and begin to unshackle Gwayne, their hands shaking slightly as they fumble with the locks.
Gwayne breathes out a quiet sigh, rubbing his wrists where the heavy manacles have left raw marks. He looks to you, a softness in his gaze that defies the bleakness of the situation. You step closer, the world around you narrowing to just the two of you in that instant. His eyes hold yours, and in them, you see the unspoken words, the regret, the love, and the inevitable farewell.
âThis is not the end,â Gwayne murmurs, his voice rough but steady, his eyes gleaming with quiet intensity. âIf my nephew has any mercy left in him, I will find a way to return. But if not⌠know that protecting you was worth everything. Every sacrifice.â
You reach out, your hand trembling slightly, resting it against his chest where you can feel the steady, yet faint, beat of his heart. âYouâre the only reason Iâm alive, Gwayne. You risked everything for me, and I wonât forget it. No matter what happens next.â
He leans in, close enough that you can feel the warmth of his breath against your skin, and whispers, âRemember me, Y/N. And if this war ever ends, perhaps fate will be kinder to us in another life.â
Your eyes sting with unshed tears, but you manage a faint smile, brushing your thumb gently over his cheek in a rare display of affection. âI will. I promise.â
Before either of you can say more, the guards hastily usher him toward the docks, anxious to see him gone before Daemon can intervene. Gwayne casts one last lingering glance over his shoulder, a look full of unspoken promises and finality, before he is led away.
As they escort him down the winding paths toward the ship, the sails already being unfurled, Daemon and Vaeron catch sight of the commotion from a distance. Daemonâs eyes narrow dangerously as he realizes what is happening. His fury builds like a storm, the anger practically radiating off him as he strides toward the scene, Vaeron following, his own emotions churning in the wake of what has transpired.
As Gwayne passes by Daemon, their eyes lock for a brief moment. Gwayneâs lips twitch into a faint, knowing smirkâone that speaks volumes, a silent challenge, as if to say, You didnât win this time. Itâs a gesture that only fuels Daemonâs rage, the dragon within him rearing its head.
Daemonâs hand tightens on the hilt of Dark Sister, his knuckles white with fury, but before he can draw it, Gwayne is gone, escorted swiftly onto the ship where Otto waits with grim satisfaction. The gangplank is raised, and the ship begins to pull away from the harbor, sails billowing as it heads back toward the horizon.
With the Hightower entourage retreating, Daemonâs fury turns on Rhaenyra and you. He storms up to the two of you, his eyes blazing, voice like thunder. âWhat in the name of all the gods are you doing, woman? Do you realize what youâve just done?â
Rhaenyra stands her ground, unyielding, her chin lifted defiantly. âI did what was right, Daemon. Ser Gwayne Hightower saved my sisterâs life at Rookâs Rest, and I will not be the one to condemn him to rot in chains for it. Let the Greens decide his fate now. Itâs no longer our concern.â
Daemonâs glare shifts from Rhaenyra to you, his gaze scorching with silent accusation. The promise of a reckoning lingers in his eyes, a vow that this conversation between you and him is far from over. But he turns back to Rhaenyra, the anger in his voice uncontainable. âYouâve weakened our position, Rhaenyra. Do you not see what this act of so-called mercy has cost us? We hold every advantage, and now you hand them back one of their own, giving them hope when we should be crushing it.â
Rhaenyraâs voice remains steady, firm in her conviction. âHope may be our enemy, but I will not sacrifice decency for the sake of cruelty. This war has already claimed enough soulsâif showing mercy weakens us in your eyes, then so be it. But I will not let this conflict strip us of our humanity.â
Daemonâs eyes flash dangerously, his rage palpable, but even in his fury, he knows better than to challenge her publicly. The exchange bristles with barely restrained venom, both of them locked in a clash of wills, neither willing to yield. But itâs clear that this is a rift that will not be easily mended.
Vaeron, who has watched it all unfold in silence, feels a small surge of triumph swell in his chest. For the first time, his mother acted on her own terms, free from Daemonâs influence. The knowledge that Gwayne is safe, at least for now, is a balm to his inner turmoil. Yet, even in his moment of quiet victory, he knows that the repercussions of this day will ripple far beyond the shores of Dragonstone.
Daemon finally steps back, his gaze returning to you, the promise of confrontation lingering like smoke in the air. âThis is not over,â he hisses, his words directed more at you than at Rhaenyra. Then, without another word, he turns and stalks off, his rage still burning as he disappears from view.
The ship grows smaller on the horizon, taking with it the man who dared defy every loyalty, every oath, for the sake of love. And in that moment, you know that whatever happens next, the war has shiftedânot because of power or strategy, but because of the choices made out of love and loyalty. Choices that may very well reshape the fate of everyone involved.

đđđđ đđ đđ đđđđđđ,, c.sturniolo
summary: chris tried so hard to support you through your drug addiction that had been ongoing for a year, every time he got you out, you fell back into the hole. one day chris had finally had enough and had a talk with you about wether or not you were willing to change for him, but once you say canât, he leaves your relationship behind for good.
cw: angst, drug addiction (doesnât go into any sort of description), crying, breaking up.
a/n: this took like two months to finish and iâm so relived i finished it, but enjoy. also, spread kindness and love, you never know what someone is going through in life. i love each and every single one of you guys.
ever since you turned 18, life took a dark turn that no one saw coming. the thrill of adulthood quickly faded, replaced by an insatiable craving for drugs that clouded your mind and overwhelmed your spirit. chris, your boyfriend, stood by your side, determined to help you break free from the chains of addiction. he offered support, kept you away from parties to avoid drugs being in your possession, and even tried to distract you with adventures, hoping to rekindle the joy you once had in your life.
but each time he thought you were making progress, the grip of the addictive substances would pull you back in. you'd promise him it would be the last time, but the cycle continued, leaving chris feeling helpless and heartbroken. he watched as the vibrant person he once loved slowly faded away, replaced by someone consumed by the highs and lows of addiction.
after countless attempts of trying to reach you, chris had finally reached his breaking point. he stood in front of you, eyes filled with a mix of frustration and sorrow, and said, "i can't do this anymore. i can't keep watching you destroy yourself like this."
those words hung heavy in the air, echoing the painful reality that your relationship was now teetering on the edge of collapse.
you felt the weight of chris' words crash down on you like a tidal wave. the hurt in his voice was unmistakable, and for a brief moment, you felt a flicker of clarity amidst the haze of addiction. you wanted to reach out, to tell him that you were sorry, that you didn't want to lose him, but the fear of vulnerability held you back.
chris turned away, his frustration evident as he paced his room. "i've tried everything, but i can't keep sacrificing my own well-being for you. you need to want this for yourself." his voice was tight, strained from the emotional burden he had been carrying. you could see the pain etched on his face, a painful reminder of how far you had fallen.
in the moment, you realised that your addiction had not only trapped you but also threatened to destroy the most important relationship in your life. you took a deep breath, fighting back tears, and finally whispered, "i don't want to lose you, chris. i just don't know how to stop." the vulnerability in your voice hung in the air, a desperate plea for understanding and a lifeline back to the person you used to be.
chris paused, his back still turned to you, and you could see the tension in his shoulders. slowly, he turned around, his expression softening just a fraction. "you need to take that first step, even if it's the hardest thing you've ever done," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "i can't fight this battle for you, but i'll be here to support you every step of the way if you're ready to try."
you felt a rush of conflicting emotions â fear, hope, and a deep seated anxiety that gnawed at your insides. the thought of facing your addiction head-on felt overwhelming, but the idea of losing chris was even more terrifying. "what if i fail again?" you asked, your voice trembling, "what if i let you down?"
chris took a step closer, his gaze steady and sincere. "you might stumble, but that doesn't mean you've failed. it means you're human. what matters is that you keep trying. i believe in you, even when you don't believe in yourself." his words wrapped around you like a warm blanket, and for the first time in a long while, you felt a glimmer of hope. maybe, just maybe, this was the moment you could begin to reclaim your life.
you took a deep breath, the weight of chris' words hanging heavily in the air. "i don't know if i can do it," you admitted, the vulnerability of the moment crashing down on you again. "what if i just end up hurting you more?"
chris looked at you with a mixture of concern and frustration. "you're not the only one hurting here. i can't keep watching you spiral down this path. it's tearing me apart." his voice was strained, and you could see the toll this had taken on him. the reality of the situation settled in like a thick fog, suffocating and unyielding.
as silence enveloped the room, you felt a sense of despair creeping in. you wanted to believe that change was possible, but the shadows of doubt loomed larger. "maybe i'm just not meant to get better," you whispered, the hopelessness creeping into your heart. chris' expression faltered, and for a moment, you both stood there, caught in the truthful pain that sometimes, despite the love and support, not every story has a happy ending.
chris ran a hand through his hair, frustration and sadness mixing in his eyes. âyou canât think like that. itâs not true. but i canât keep doing this if youâre not willing to fight for yourself,â he said, his voice firm yet pained. âiâm here, but i canât be your crutch forever. you have to want this y/n.â
you felt a sting of his words, each one a reminder of the reality you were trying to escape. âwhat if i donât know how to want it?â you replied, your voice cracking. âwhat if im just too far gone?â the tears began to well up, and you fought to keep them at bay, not wanting to show chris just have vulnerable you felt.
he stepped closer, his expression softening again, but the distance between you felt insurmountable. âi canât answer that for you. all i can do is stand here and hope you find the strength to take that step. but i canât keep waiting.â he said, the finality in his tone hitting you like a cold wave. you realised then that this moment might be a turning point, but it could also be the beginning of the end for what you both had fought so hard to hold onto.
you felt a knot tightening in your stomach as his words sank in. âso, what happens if i canât?â you asked, your voice barely above a whisper. the uncertainty clawed at you, and the thought of losing chris loomed larger than ever. âis this really it?â
chris sighed, the weight of the moment pressing down on both of you. âi donât want it to be, but i canât keep sacrificing my own well-being. itâs not fair to either of us,â he replied, his tone heavy with regret. âyou have to choose, but i canât make that choice for you.â
the silence that followed was deafening, each second stretching out painfully. you could see the hurt in his eyes, the flicker of hope battling against despair. âi just⌠i wish things were different,â you admitted, feeling the tears finally spill over. âbut i donât know how to change.â
as you stood there, the reality of the situation settled in, and you realised that sometimes, no matter how much you want to hold onto something, you have to confront the possibility that it might slip away.
you took a step back, feeling the weight of the moment pressing down on you. âchris, i donât think i can do this. i want to, but it feels too big, too overwhelming,â you said, your voice trembling.
chrisâ expression shifted, a mix of understanding and disappointed clothing his features. âi get that, but i canât keep waiting for you to figure it out. i need to take care of myself too,â he replied softly, the hurt evident in his eyes.
as he turned to leave, a part of you felt like it was breaking. âwait, please donât go,â you called out, desperation creeping into your voice. but he paused for just a moment, looking back at you with a heavy heart. âi have to, for both of us,â he said before walking away, leaving you standing there, feeling more lost than ever.
you felt a surge of panic as you watched him walk away, and without thinking, you rushed after him, your heart pounding in your chest. âchris, please!â you shouted, your voice echoing in the stillness of the night.
when you reached him, you grabbed his arm, turning him to face you. the tears that had been threatening to spill finally broke free at a rapid pace, streaming down your face. âi canât let you go like this. iâm so scared of losing you,â you cried, the weight of your emotions crashing down around you.
chrisâ eyes softened as he took a step closer, but the distance between you felt insurmountable. âi donât want to hurt you, but i canât keep holding on when youâre not ready,â he said gently, his own tears now falling. the pain in his voice only made your heart ache more, and you felt completely vulnerable, exposed in your grief, âi need you to understand,â he continued, but the words felt like they were slipping away as you broke down in front of him, feeling utterly lost.
chris stepped closer, pulling you into a warm embrace, his presence a comforting balm against the pain swelling inside you. âi know this is hard,â he murmured, brushing a strand of hair from your face. âi care about you so much, and i want to be here for you.â
as you leaned into him, feeling the warmth radiating from his body, you thought maybe there was hope. but then he pulled back slightly, his eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and resolve. âbut i canât keep doing this. itâs tearing us apart, and i donât want to hurt you anymore,â he confessed, his voice trembling.
you felt a lump in your throat as you tried to process his words. âchris. pleaseâŚâ you started, but he shook his head gently. âyou need to find you own way, and so do i.â
in that moment, he leaned in, capturing your lips in a soft, lingering kiss that felt like a goodbye. it was tender and filled with all the unspoken words between you. when he finally pulled away, there were tears in his eyes, but he forces a small smile. âtake care of yourself, y/n.â he said, his voice barely above a whisper. then, with one last look, he turned and walked out of your house, leaving you standing there, feeling the weight of forever in his absence.

KoH - To Rival Eden (Baldwin IV x Reader)
Fandom: Kingdom of Heaven
Pairing: Baldwin IV x Fem!Reader
PoV: Split (Baldwin - Fem!Reader)
Length: Short (<4k words)
TW: Vague mentions of leprosy
A/N: Well, here we have it, the much-anticipated sequel to "What Good May Come"! I took your feedback into account regarding Y/N's preferences, as well as circumstances and relationships, and created another chapter in this little romance. As in the previous story, I've done my best to keep Y/N as generic as possible with a personality that seemed to fit what is currently popular. I hope you enjoy it as much as the first, and once again, thank you all for being awesome! đ¤
Baldwin could hardly believe his good fortune.
Tiberias had spoken truth: she loved him.
He hadnât slept a wink that night after she left his chambers. Had barely paid attention to his physiciansâ work as heâd given his failing body to their care for the hundred-thousandth time in his short life. Whilst his mortal shell continued its slow and endless march towards inevitable disintegration, his heart and mind were soaring above the clouds, his spirit filled with a fire he hadnât felt in years.
Lady Y/N loved him.
He lay in his bed, eyes staring up into the canopyâs shadows, yet unseeing of anything that was actually there. Instead, he saw her sitting before him as she had that evening, the smile dancing across her lips, the color in her cheekâŚ
Thus lost in his thoughts, all he had to do was close his eyes to still feel her warmth in his arms, the touch of her hand upon his own⌠still smell the sweet perfume that cloaked her in its allure. Even as his fears screamed at him that every moment he spent near her was a risk he was selfish to take, that the poison coursing through his veins could destroy her like some fetid rot devouring a perfect flower, all he desired was to hold her again⌠to imagine what her hair would feel like slipping between his silk-gloved fingersâŚ
These visions of her swirled in his mind all night long and into the next week, until he thought he might go mad with them. He had never thought much of the songs of the troubadours before, dismissing their melodramatic lyrics as nothing more than mere fantasy.
But now he had tasted that very pain of love of which they sang, and he knew they were right.
Love was insanity.
Unfortunately, it was an insanity he had to endure through nearly a weekâs worth of increasingly-numerous duties that forbade his interaction with anyone other than his advisors and court petitioners. Conversation on such matters proved his only respite, for when he was finally left alone once more, she haunted the depths of his mind.
And as his quill slowly glided through the practiced motions of his signature upon his latest letter, his aching heart wondered if he haunted hers the same wayâŚ
He hoped and prayed she had not taken offense to his exclusion of visitors outside his immediate council. It was all such ill-timing, and yet the administration of his kingdom could not wait for courtship. He could not afford the distraction of anyone elseâs presence amidst such delicate matters, and there were some things that he refused to delegate to others.
That he could not trust to others.
The thoughts of sharing those tasks with a queen he truly loved and adored above all else, howeverâŚ
Plunk!
He abruptly sat back in his chair, squeezing his eyes shut.
That was it. It was time for some fresh air.
Rising slowly to his feet, he reached for his hooded cloak where it hung nearby. Without even being asked, his servant Ihsan wordlessly appeared from the shadows to help him don it, moving with quiet grace.
âShall I accompany His Majesty?â the Christian Syrian asked, aiding Baldwin in pulling the hood over his head. Jerusalemâs sun was bright today, and harsh on the ill kingâs eyes.
âNo, I shall walk alone, I think.â
âAs you wish, sire.â
And loyal Ihsan melted into those shadows once more, as quickly as he had emerged.
With that, Baldwin began making his way to the palace gardens, keeping his pace measured as he followed the long halls, close to the wall should he need it for support. Alas, his numbed foot would allow for nothing else. Yet, even so, he didnât wish for this stroll to be a hurried one, crammed in between the endless sessions of his work. He needed time to center himself â to clear his mind and ease his heart.
His hood low over his mask, he still squinted against the sun as he emerged into the palace gardens. The strength of its rays had only seemed to intensify in recent years, even as their warmth had faded; his body hardly felt it, now, beaming down upon him, as if he had already hovered between the land of the living and the dead. But his eyes most certainly did, and he kept his head dipped low, his mask half-shadowed by the hood of his cloak.
Anyone else who had chosen to wander the gardens the same as he soon found themselves departing, as usual. The king was instantly recognizable, even cloaked like this, his presence garnering immediate notice by his courtiers. Their dread of his disease they always attempted to cover with pretense â the courtesy of yielding the space to their liege-lord as they offered deep bows and curtseys. Yet they always slipped away with the hiss of whispers swirling in their wakeâŚ
His lips twisted in amusement at the thought that his experience behind a mask had made it easier to see past theirs.
Thus, he largely ignored them as they bestowed upon him their customary greetings, their well-rehearsed gestures of obeisance. And the answers he gave in reply were just as superficial. They deserved nothing more. Little by little, they left as he slowly made his way along those meandering paths, bordered by every plant native to these lands, flowering or notâŚ
All but one.
At the end of one of the paths, perched upon a bench before a towering hedge, was Lady Y/N.
She sat with a small book open in her lap, her garb a simple green bliaut with a matching embroidered belt. A brilliant white veil over her hair, pinned to the barbette that looped beneath her chin, shielded her downturned face from the sun. Even from this angle, he could see the slight smile that played across her lips, and he felt his own mimic the expression beneath his mask.
The sight of her thus made him pause his stride, and he considered backtracking to the previous fork in the path and leaving her to her peace. Yet another part of him desired nothing more than to speak to her â to self-indulgently converse, even if only briefly, with this sweet angel of a woman heâd neglected for the sake of his divinely-mandated duty.
What resulted then, was an indecisive hovering, a prolonged pause at the bells of the lovely flowers that brushed his silken sleeve â blossoms whose aroma was now all but lost to his dulled senses. But none of the velvet-petaled jewels gracing this paradise of a garden now compared to the one he could not tear his eyes from, yet hadnât the heart to approachâŚ
================
Jerusalemâs palace garden was a sanctuary as peaceful as the cloister of any church youâd seen and perhaps twice as beautiful. The open air was filled with the scent of the exotic flowers that had been meticulously cultivated there, surrounding visitors in an alluring embrace. The cool shade beneath the towering hedgerows and elegant palms had been too tempting to resist, and, with a new book of poetry in hand, youâd made a beeline for an empty bench in the farthest shadowed nook you could find.
Gardens such as these were haunts for lovers, or so youâd been told. Some had even been designed in such a manner that encouraged clandestine trysts â a convenient niche here, a cleverly-planted bush thereâŚ
Alas, there were no such surreptitious visits in your near future. No, youâd merely come to the gardens this day for some fresh air and relative peace and quiet.
It was with great eagerness that you had rushed to the bench, sweeping your skirts beneath you and opening the book upon your lap. It was a loan, in fact, from Sibylla; the princess had been spending more time with you in the past week, indulging in light conversation mostly revolving around scholarly interests and pastimes. During the course of one of these discussions, she mentioned having received a few books from France and, quite unexpectedly, asked if you would like to borrow one of them.
Such a generous offer had been impossible to refuse, and your eyes had lit up as the princess passed you the small, leather-bound book of poetry, which you handled with utmost care.
The plan was to spend an upcoming evening sharing what the two of you had enjoyed most about the tomes over refreshments.
It was something you rather looked forward to.
Now, you were fully immersed in the book, your eyes drinking in the copyistâs hand as it swirled across the delicate vellum pages; it was a work of art in and of itself, to say nothing of the words it held within. So engrossed were you that, for a long moment, you failed to notice you were being watchedâŚ
But then, suddenly, a slight movement from the periphery of your vision caused you to glance up, and for a brief second, you thought you saw an angel. You quickly realized, however, that it was not.
The awestruck smile that tugged at your lips was perhaps a bit uncouth, but you couldnât help it. Angel he was not, and yet the king was still radiant enough that you wouldnât have been at all surprised to see a pair of wings upon his back or a fiery halo ringing his head. The hooded cloak he wore, trimmed in gold, was such a blinding white in the midday sun that it almost blurred his outline, and the half-concealed silver mask with its perfectly-chiseled countenance could easily be mistaken for the face of a saintâŚ
âYour Majesty!â
On reflex, you stood, abandoning the book on the bench before starting to dip into a curtsey, but the upwards flash of his gloved hand stopped you mid-movement.
âI require no epithets or courtesies from you, Lady Y/N,â he replied as he wandered down the path towards you. âI should hope that I may abandon such performance in your presence.â
The warmth in his voice heated your cheeks. âVery well⌠Baldwin.â This was only the second time youâd dared to speak his name without a title preceding it, and it felt oddly right on your tongue. âIf that is the case, then I must also insist that I am simply Y/N.â
His hooded head dipped. âOf course. Y/N.â
Something about the way he said your name made your heart flutter, and you glanced away briefly even as you sidled nearer to him. âIt is good to see you again. Baldwin. You are well, I hope?â
âI am now,â he replied softly. Now you could look up into his silver-clad face and see the glitter of his eyes beneath the shadow of his hood. In their impossibly-blue gaze you found a softness that belied the sharpness of their hue.
âI⌠missed you,â you breathed at last, your voice lowering. âI must admit, Iâve worried for you. Lord Tiberias assured me all was well, but⌠well, youâll forgive me for being a bit distrusting.â
A low chuckle emanated from him. âIf there is anyone you may trust with his honest assessment of matters, it is Tiberias.â
A chuckle of your own escaped you in response to his jesting remark before he continued in a far more serious tone, âI must offer you my sincerest apologies, Y/N â here youâve given me the most beautiful gift anyone has ever bestowed upon me, and Iâve done nothing but neglect you in return. Already, I fear I must seem a poor partner in courtship.â
Your mouth opened a little in shock at that. âAbsolutely nothing of the sort! I understand you are busy. I know you wouldnât have isolated yourself like this otherwise.â A light smile played upon your lips as you met his eyes again. âIâm just glad to see you again now.â
It was then you reached forth, brushing his nearest forearm lightly in reassurance. The damask silk of his sleeve was so very soft and smooth beneath your fingertips. And warm. Though from his body heat or the sun, it was difficult to tellâŚ
Suddenly, another movement out of the corner of your eye had you glancing past the king at a visitor on the garden path: a small tabby cat â silver with stripes of black â trotting along the hedgerow towards you.
âOh, look!â
You pointed, and Baldwin half-turned to follow your gesture, another quiet chuckle following once he realized what had caught your attention. âAh, a palace mouser, I see. Either that or a street cat has managed to breach the walls.â
His choice of words elicited a light laugh from you. âPerhaps he is a scout, then. Come to assess our defenses.â
The two of you watched as the cat slowed a few paces away, looking up at the both of you.
âMrow?â
It was a questioning little sound the tomcat made as he hunkered close, sniffing first at the toe of Baldwinâs shoe before doing the same at the hem of your skirt. For a moment he merely stood there, his banded tail a waving S in the air as he continued to take in king and lady with shining green eyes.
âMrrp.â
A quiet trill followed as the cat proceeded to bump up against your shin, tail curling about as he wound his way behind you before bumping against Baldwinâs calf in the same manner. He paused, staring upwards, and then he repeated the pattern, his path creating an infinity knot around both your feet.
âAww, I think the darling wants attention,â you cooed, bending at the waist towards the little feline as you held out your hand. You were rewarded with another bump up against your palm, whereupon you happily scratched behind the catâs ears, a grin plastered to your face.
âI would greet him as he wishes,â Baldwin remarked beside you, âbut I fear Iâd lose balance and keep going.â
You glanced up at him. âWell⌠we canât have His Majesty tumbling face-first into the roses, can we?â
âNo, I do believe that would tarnish my reputation for being upright.â
A snort escaped you at that. Baldwinâs sense of humor never ceased to amaze you â that he could find humor at all amidst his terrible suffering was a testament to his fortitude.
Confident that the cat was comfortable with you, you then reached for him, moving to pick him up, which he allowed with surprising ease. Palace mouser indeed, and obviously used to human company; you were certain no street cat would allow such familiar handling so soonâŚ
âOh, look, he has little gloves, like you.â
Your observation of the catâs stark white mittens, curled as they were overtop your arm, had Baldwin chuckling lightly once more, and he nodded in reply, his own gloved hand slowly approaching. âSo he does. Alas, I fear his bear weapons mine do not.â
He paused long enough for the cat to sniff again at his fingers â which he did â before gently stroking the top of the creatureâs head between his ears. Almost immediately, a rumbling purr emanated from the felineâs throat, his eyes half-closing. Despite the near tentativeness of Baldwinâs movements, the cat seemed quite satisfied with the attention, though a part of you wondered how much the king himself gleaned from itâŚ
âCan you feel that?â you heard yourself ask.
âBarely,â was the quiet reply, a lengthy pause following before he withdrew and added, âI relish moments like these while I can. There will come a day when I shall feel nothing with these diseased hands, glove or not.â
His words shot like an arrow straight to your heart. As much as you both tried to ignore it, to look past it, the truth of the matter was that Baldwin was slowly being eaten alive from the inside out, and it was only a matter of time before it utterly consumed him. Just this simple encounter with a sweet palace cat was enough to bring reality crashing down around both your ears.
And you hated it.
Swallowing, you cleared your throat and then bent to set the curious feline back on his feet. âLetâs let our intrepid little friend here continue on his way now, to do the noble work his kind has been mandated to do, yes?â
Once released, you gave the cat one final pat on his head and he was off, trotting away down the path before promptly disappearing under a bush.
âY/N?â
The softness of your name upon Baldwinâs lips suddenly brought your attention back to him, and then there was his hand on your cheek, cupping your face gently as his eyes searched yours. You could feel the concern in their depths, his gaze probing your own for answers. No doubt he sensed the shift in your mood â you never had been the best at keeping your emotions hiddenâŚ
âI wish I could do more for you,â you whispered before he could ask. âI wish I could⌠I wishâŚâ
There were so many things that you wished. You wished for him to be healthy again. You wished you could lift the many burdens from his shoulders. You wished you could rid his court of the treacherous vultures just waiting for his final breath to tear apart the corpse of his dream. You wished you could send his enemies running for their lives beyond the desert sands. Alas, you could do none of that.
But you could do thisâŚ
Without a word, you swiftly closed what gap was left between you, wrapping your arms around him in a tight embrace.
Instantly, he stiffened, his hands clamping to your shoulders on reflex, their grip tighter than you anticipated.
âY/NâŚâ
âHush!â you hissed, interrupting any warning he felt impelled to give you. âLet me do this⌠let me do it, and let yourself have it!â
You could feel him tremble in your arms, his breathing uneven. For a harrowing moment, he was naught but a statue, indecisive â no-doubt waging a war in his own mind, if you knew him by now as well as you thought you didâŚ
Whichever side flew the banners of Propriety and Precaution, though, evidently lost the battle, as a shaky sigh escaped him at last, a quivering hiss of breath between the lips of his mask.
âGod forgive me.â
And then, in a move that made your heart flutter wildly again, his own arms slid around you, pulling you into him and shrouding you in sun-soaked silk. The pungent scent of herbal salves alongside crisp linen followed, piercing past the exotic fragrances of the garden flowers, although you detected the distinct note of roses rising amidst it all â perhaps from the oils the physicians applied to soothe his ravaged flesh. He cocooned you in this warmth, the hardness of his mask as it rested atop of your head a sharp contrast to the softness of the rest of him. And thus he held you tight, tighter than you had expected him to, your ear pressed to his chest where you heard the quickened thumping of his heart.
For one blessed moment, nothing else existed. Perhaps he was an angel after all, just awaiting the wings set aside for him in Heaven. For here he held you in earthly Paradise amidst a garden to rival Eden, shining bright as the light of the sun that enveloped you both in its purifying rays, and you knew peaceâŚ
You heard the raggedness in his breath, however. The unsteadiness of his hold. Pulling back from him, you promptly swept his hands up in your own, tugging him towards the bench. âCome. Sit. Stay with me a while and forget your troubles, if only for a few moments. If you can spare them, at least.â
His regard held an almost painful tenderness as it met yours, his voice dropping to a silken timbre. âThat and more, should you but ask.â
Your eyes never left his, then, as you led him with ease to your chosen perch. Scooping up Sibyllaâs book, you made room for him to sit beside you there, and as he slowly settled himself, letting out what sounded like a sigh of relief, you were keenly aware that your legs were touching, hip to kneeâŚ
âDo you like poetry?â you inquired, choosing to ignore how your heart continued to race a little at his continued close proximity.
He glanced sideways, his eyes flicking downwards towards the book in your lap. âAs much as the next person, I suppose. Is that a new acquisition?â
You grinned up at him. âPrincess Sibylla loaned it to me, actually. Weâre planning on discussing it in a few days.â
He nodded slowly at that, seeming to approve. âMy sister is in need of good company. I am glad to hear you are getting along well with her.â
âShe terrified me at first,â you admitted with a laugh. âBut I think she truly wishes for us to be friends.â
Baldwinâs gaze leveled at you behind the mask. âAnd you were not terrified of me?â
The question was a soft one, wavering slightly, though from recent exertion or emotion, you couldnât quite tell.
A gentle smile tugged at the corner of your mouth. âNever.â
For a long moment, his eyes searched yours, and you couldnât help but let them. Their color, their shape, their intensity⌠they were so beautifully expressive that it didnât matter that his mask concealed everything else. When they looked at you, you were almost certain you could feel what he felt in your own heart. And what you felt now was more warmth. This time, though, it blossomed from within as those eyes relaxed into a half-lidded stare that was so much like that of the cat youâd just foundâŚ
Aware of the blush heating your cheeks at such a look, you finally tore your gaze from his and cleared your throat. âWould you like to hear a bit of this? Itâs rather goodâŚâ
âYes, I very much would,â he answered, his tone an almost distant one.
With that, you opened the book where you left off, taking a breath before beginning to read aloud. You hoped he didnât mind romances, as that was precisely what this one was â a chivalric tale of doomed loveâŚ
Any self-consciousness you possessed about the contents was banished, however, the moment you felt his hand curl around your waist.
It was so light a touch it barely registered at first. But then you saw the flash of white out of the corner of your eye, bright upon the green of your gown. Felt the slight weight of that hand upon the curve of your waist. Almost instinctively, you leaned into him in response, and his grip tightened a little.
âI am not hurting you, am I?â you asked quietly, concerned about the effects of any weight against his fragile flesh.
âYou could never hurt me,â he replied in a whisper.
And that was the moment you felt his head rest against yours as you continued to read.
Thank you all very much for reading! đI hope you enjoyed! ⨠And if you have any other ideas for Y/N, I'd love to hear them!

đ đđđđ đđ đđđ.
đŚđđ§đ˘đĽđ¨ đđ˘đđ˘ đŤ đđ˘đ !đđĄ!đĽđđđđđĽ. â 18+ only, mdni / mommy kink, mdlb vibes / handjob / edging / crying / mentions of punishment / technically gender neutral aside from reader being called âmommyâ / almost 1k words
idk y'all. i can no longer deprive my mommy domme spirit of what it needs. if it's ooc... just look away. I NEED THIS OKAY. and he needs to be punished and then babied a lil bit. it would fix him. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BOY!!!!!
Your ribs might as well be fused together given the way youâre pressed so tightly to each otherâs sides, skin welded to skin as blood pulses life throughout the both of you. Itâs the moments like these that make you realize heâs more human than most would like to believe.Â
You can see it in the way that very same blood causes him to flush various shades of pink and red, can feel it in every tremor of the muscles that work so hard to hold him upright. Satoru Gojo is more of a human being than ever when heâs in your grasp, and thatâs precisely why heâs always so eager to be within it.
The bed is plush beneath him but it doesnât compare to the comforting sensation of your arm secured around his waist to keep him close, making him feel warm and enveloped even as the crisp air nips at his exposed skin. Your other hand is wrapped around the red, weeping mess that is his cock, hard and throbbing to the point it causes pain, because youâve already edged him three times and are now heading for a fourth. Though heâs hoping that perhaps this time youâll bring him to the edge and let him tumble over it.
Legs spread, Satoruâs head thuds against the wall behind the bed as he swallows thickly, panting as your palm continues to squelch along his length with every slow and precise stroke. His face is wet with tears and he has one hand fisted into the sheets while the other spreads along the inside of your thigh and grips for purchase.Â
Where he once was so incredibly vocal, he is now reduced to a being that can only offer soft sobs and whimpers in reaction to your loving torture, and this is how youâre able to tell that he is at his limits. Youâve broken him with your steadfast yet gentle punishment, edged him until heâs bleary-eyed and obedient like a needy child, and your efforts have been successful, so you think thereâs no need to drag things out for much longer.
âMommy, p-pleaseâŚâ he begs in a whisper, voice warped by tears and hips struggling to refrain from bucking up into your hand. Satoru has repented for his earlier transgressions and has since lost the attitude that had gotten him into this situation. Youâre starting to feel rather merciful towards him now.
You turn your head to press your lips against his temple, soothing him with a kiss there and mumbling, âShhh, I know, baby.â
Satoru shudders at the feeling of your warm breath and words floating around his ear, and heâs fallen deep into a space that fills his head completely with fluffy clouds and stardust. He needs you to give him permission to let go, to finally give in to the pleasure youâve been withholding from him.
âDo you think youâve learned your lesson?â you ask, tasting the salt of the tears upon his cheek.
Satoru breathes in a small gasp, hips twitching as he nods enthusiastically. âMhm, yeahâyeahyeahyeah,â he answers you with desperation, suddenly filled with hope that youâll give him a much-needed orgasm. âIâll be good, mommy, promise.â
You grin at the way he slurs his words and vows to be obedient despite his insolent nature. âAlright then,â you reply, your permissive tone like music to his ears as your hand continues its rhythm. âYou can go ahead and cum for me, Satoru.â
He immediately releases a moan of pure relief and lets his eyes roll to the back of his head, muscles finally relaxing now that he doesnât have to fight off impending release. He can simply float in a cloud of bliss and let the pleasure wash over him when it finally comes, which is going to be much sooner rather than later at this rate.
Satoruâs grasp on you tightens along with his balls and abs, lungs struggling to breathe properly as your hand picks up its pace a hardly noticeable amountâbut itâs enough for him, and thatâs evident by how he pants and moans in little âah, ah, ahâs that fill the air.
âThatâs it, angel; give it to me,â you goad gently, and thatâs all it takes. With one final choked cry, Satoru tenses up and releases ropes of cum that land hotly on his thighs, his stomach, and your fingers, painting them sticky white. It drives him into an even more mindless state than before, and after heâs done sobbing out his pleasure, he begins to crumple into you regardless of his size.
White hair tickles your neck as he makes a home there. âMessy boy,â You giggle lightly and grant his cheek with a kiss, admiring the way heâs covered the both of you with such a heavy load. âSee, that wasnât so bad, was it?â
Satoru tucks his face further into your neck with a pout. âMm. Youâre mean.â
Rolling your eyes, you playfully shake your head. "Oh yes, I know. Iâm just the meanest mommy in the whole wide world," you reply jokingly. "I never ever let my baby cum or give him kisses or hugs or snuggles afterwards. I'm just the absolute worst."
All he does is huff against you and stay silent for several moments afterwards while you rub a comforting hand along his arm. After his bodyâs gone slack and breathing has evened out into a slow tickle along your skin, you begin to suspect that heâs about to doze off.
âDonât fall asleep yet, baby. We still need to get you cleaned up.â
Satoru shuffles and whines, wrapping an arm around your waist and trying to force his oversized body even closer to yours in protest.
âUh uh, donât whine,â you warn with a slightly firmer tone. âNo more attitude today. Not unless you want another punishment.â

1. it's been a while since I read this fic but it's set during the sunshot campaign and wwx jc jzx and lwj all develop some sort of bond and can share powers/cores(?) I don't remember if the golden core transfer happened. they can bring each other back to life (though I think there's some sort of time limit to it?) that they first discover when wwx was killed (I believe)
FOUND!đ𧥠Song by WithBroomBefore (T, 41k, Platonic Soulbond, Hurt/comfort, Canon Divergence, No golden core transfer, JC&JZX stay in Xuanwu cave, Fix-it, Temporary character death)

2. Thank you for this blog. I am looking for a fic that I read a few years ago, focused on Lan Sizhui. I think the pairing was ZhuiLing or else it was focused on Lan Sizhui, Lan Jingyi, and Jin Ling in some combination. They were still cultivators, Lan Sizhui was a monster/tentacle monster/eldritch kind of creature when he wasn't in human form and the Lan clan helped keep this secret. I think it was because he was a Wen but I don't remember the exact explanatiom now. It was a bit long, as I think it had some chapters, and the juniors were still cultivators who went on night hunts and trained. I liked seeing how the slight change from the original universe was used. I've searched several ways in ao3 and have not been able to find it again yet. @mejomonster
FOUND? sounds like "Lurking" by Verse, but they deleted all their mdzs fics. It may exist on the wayback machine.

3. Hi!!! I was hoping you'd find this wangxian fic:
It was a Jonh Carter AU(? yes that Disney movie about Mars) Like Lan Zhan is from Helium and Wei Ying is a Thark. I think is listed as explicit and top Wei Wuxian... not sure about other tags... The Summary might be vague and say something along the lines of Lan Zhan doing a trip and encountering a stranger (Wei Wuxian) I've tried to search it but there's just so many fics!
I hope it's still up đđ Thank you so much before hand! @nat-first-account

LWJ falls in love with WWX on their quest and near/at the climax they run into a sage who almost kills WWX. Can you help me find this fic? Sorry if this has been asked before! @whompmwhomp

7. hii im looking for a wangxian fic where a phoenix god/spirit(?) has lived many lives. he chose his next life to be human and he reincarnated as wei wuxian. some big event happens that leads to him being kept in i think the cold pond cave and theres barriers that only lan wangji can go through. its definitely not a 2024 fic and im betting on it not being 2023 either. youre my last hope </3 thank you in advance
FOUND? đ Breathing Firestorm by ladyshadowdrake (M, 110k, wangxian, angst, fluff, captivity, creepy WRH, no non-con, dreamsharing, politics, people making the best decisions they can, epic length, mythical creature WWX, canon-typical violence, dark, happy ending) I haven't read this but 7 sounds like the summary of breathing firestorm

8. Hi! I need your help once sgain. Because once again I thought I had this fic bookmarked, but can't find it, and my Google-fu has failed too, so here goes: x number of years ago, Wei Ying and the Wen Remnants vanished from the Burial Mounds. Lan Zhan has never stopped searching for Wei Ying. There are strange rumors everywhere that WY & the others are in a resentment-filled no man's land (kind of like the void in the Shadow & Bone novel) where huge deadly monsters roam. Word is also that people who really need help have safely disappeared into this void. As time passes, rumors of strange cultivators suddenly appearing to aid people are also circulating. And I think Lan Zhan actually meets Xiao Xingchen in an inn at one point & it's clear he knows Wri Ying (he & Song Lan turn out to be Wei Ying's right-hand men). LZ does try to get into the void thing, but the energy is too strong & he barely makes it out of the area. After a number of years they get a message out of the blue, i think, from WY saying that the monsters are getting out, and WY ends up bringing the Wei Sect back to the cultivation world to help fight. Wei Ying will have nothing to say or do with Lan Zhan, at least to start, which Lan Zhan is devestated by. Um...and Lan Yuan is there, grown up & still the Best Boy ever. I think A-Yuan tirns out to be a Gusu Lan fanboy. Anyway, it turns out Wei Ying created a ghost path that allows the Wei Sect to safely use resentful energy. But you find out WY got too damaged back in the beginning and by the end they defeat the monsters but he's dying, so Lan Zhan gives Wei ying his golden core. I think LZ actually does the whole transfer himself in the Jingshi.
Your help is hugely appreciated!

The story starts from the cliff scene and wei ying remember all the things he had done with lan zhan. 13. Help me wangxianficfinder, you're my only hope!
I would swear I bookmarked this one but I can't find it anywhere!
It's a modern au where LWJ and WWX are college students. Iirc they are already in a relationship.
Iirc it opens with WWX and LWJ in a wrecked car which is possibly half hanging off a bridge - they'd been run off the road (though that's not established until later).
When the emergency services arrive, LWJ is taken to hospital but WWX is arrested for some bullshit reason - resisting arrest or something. Iirc the cops on the scene were Jin Zixun and Xue Yang.
There is worry from LWJ's family because they don't know what happened to WWX. Just that he was in the car and he should be in the hospital but isn't.
Later, WWX is in an interrogation room not making much sense because he's injured and hypothermic (it's winter and he was soaked through but he wasn't allowed to even dry off) then he gets left on his own.
I *think* he was tracked down by police (chief?) NMJ who got to WWX shortly before his heart stopped due to his injuries, the hypothermia, and the mistreatment while in custody.
That's all I can remember. Does this ring any bells for anyone? @greywake
Yep, looks like that's the fic I was after đ
I don't suppose anyone has a copy downloaded?
FOUND! I found a link in another site in tumblr but i can't find the fic. Truth or There by FRecklis be well :) / The suggestion for 13 is available via the Wayback Machine here: Follow up on the Wayback Machine link for 13: it looks like only the first chapter was archived đ

14. Hi! This is for the fic finder. I'm looking for a fic where WWX takes A-Yuan and flees the Siege on burial mounts. He heads towards the ocean and meets XXC and SL, who travel in the same direction. He gives them a fake name and they eventually get to a seaside town where XXC and SL have a house that they offer WWX to stay in. I think in the last few chapters NHS found out he was there and WWX started to teach some town children (well, teenagers) so that the town has more protection and he doesn't have to use demonic cultivation.
I meant to suggest this fic in the ITMF on the 27. June but I can't find it for the life of me. Thank you in advance for helping me look for it! @hikato-chan

15. Hello everyone, I come again looking for your help. This fic is an au of Harry Potter, or at least contains elements of it. I'm sure it's just one chapter and it's about Lan Wangji being cursed as a rabbit in the middle of his class, Wei Wuxian has a small bout of madness that involves torturing the spell caster because he thinks LWJ was killed in his presence (there's a mention that Jiang Wanyin was scared and didn't look him in the eye for a while, I think) until Lan Qiren pulls Bunji out of the fallen clothes. The curse is broken with a kiss of true love. As always, thank you very much for your time and effort. @makolashida

16. Iâm looking for this fic where Wwx is dead and while dead his (memories?) are shown to the cultivation world and when Wwx comes back everyone (or most people) consider him a good person. I believe in the description of this fic the Wwx that comes back this world is a different one from the one who dies in that universe. I also remember a scene in the fic where Wwx is overhearing people passing by talking about the compass he invented and he swore he named it something different, or he named something differently. This scene may not be in this fic but I swore there was a scene about LĂĄn Xichen begging WWx for forgiveness for Jin guangyao actions
FOUND? remind me of this fic Have You Heard Of The Yiling Patriach by R_PONTS. But i think its deleted? Wei Wuxian is not strong, or at the very least his brute strength is not something he take prides in as much as his speed and flexibility, but those can only get you so far, and when going against stronger enemy, your mind is your trump card. Or, Wei Wuxian develop a time traveling array during the Sunshot Campaign in case everything went wrong but forgot about it after. It was during the Siege that people have disturb it along with Some other experimental talismans and truths was revealed a little to late.Wei Wuxian woke up in a world different from what he remembers.
amalthia said: well, the first half the the description, the rest doesn't match. but i'll leave the link in case original requester is thinking of two different fics b/c the first half (with the three kids and rescue by bssr) is a pretty close match
FOUND? scatter and sunder by silversshadow (T, 15k, JYL/JZX, wangxian, major character death, canon divergence, temporary character death) the first half of the request sounds like a perfect fit for scatter and sunder by silversshadow It doesn't have a seen with the misnamed compass but does have LXC begging for forgiveness

17. HI, Im looking for a fic where i believe it was a kidfic? A yuan was adopted by lan zhan? There was a scene where lwjs car broke down in a snow storm and wwwx drove his old car to save them. Lol i cant remember much else. Pls help
FOUND? love thy neighbor by wincechesters (M, 7k, WangXian , Modern AU, Neighbors, Fluff, Friends to Lovers, Single Parents, Single Parent LWJ) not exactly snowstorm, but there's a scene in 'love thy neighbor' when lwj's car broke down in winter and wwx rescues him and a-yuan with his old, loud car.

18. Hello, wonderful people! Thank you for your hard work! Can you please help me find this fic? It's wangxian and either xiyao or 3zun. What I remember is at some point Jin Guangyao did something to contradict his father I think so in punishment he was thrown to some abandoned mine. Lan bros, Nie Mingjue and Wei Wuxian were searching for him and WWX said he will use the spirits of the dead for the search. Others disagreed but he said that JGY doesn't have much time since it was really cold in the mine for someone without a good golden core. At this point LWJ started to suspect WWX doesn't have one, I think. Does this ring any bells? Thank you in advance! @themorrana
FOUND! Aftermath by KouriArashi (T, 57k, JYL/JZX, wangxian, LXC/JGY, JZX & JGY, JYL & WXX, Canon Divergence, Fix-It, Everybody Lives, Romance, Developing Relationship, Family, Sibling Bonding, Light Angst, Politics, Attempted Sexual Assault, some murder on occasion, People talking about their feelings, processing their trauma, The good shit) Jin Guangshan dies at the beginning of the story, but the part with the mine happens at the end.

19. Hello! For the next fic finder I have a fic i would love to get found.
Itâs Wangxian.
And I think it was time travel but Iâm not too sure. It might not have been, Iâm 90 % sure it was in the cloudless days though.
Anyway the only thing I really remember is that wwx tells lwj that the older disciples used to make him drink with them when he was younger, like he started young around 12 I think?
He mentioned to lwj that it took around two bottles of wine to get him drunk and that usually he didnât have to drink that much around his year mates as they got passed out drunk pretty quickly.
I also remember lwj or someone telling him that his golden core had burned away the alcohol the entire time. Which had put it under some kind of strain I think?
I would be really grateful if you guys could help me find it. @ravenwithwings
FOUND!đ The Second Hand Unwinds by trulywicked (E, 64k, wangxian, JYL/JZX, WIP, Graphic Depictions of Violence, Time Travel Fix-It, Not JC Friendly, Not Yunmeng Jiang Sect Friendly, Not JiÄng Family Friendly, Not YZY Friendly, Time Travelling LWJ, Protective LWJ, Fluff, Minor Angst, Minor Character Death, JGS is his own warning, Wooing, LWJ is romantic af, Inventor WWX, Genius WWX, Cloud Recesses Study Arc, Implied/Referenced Child Abuse, Protective Gusu Lan Sect, Supportive LXC, Good Uncle LQR, WWX Protection Squad)

Limbo
Summary - You would never be able to move on from your untimely death. Not while the two males you loved kept you trapped here.
Warnings - reader is unable to move on, angst, Rhysand's red flag moment from ACOFAS, Tamlin's depressed, lost mates
A/N - I was watching the Haunting of Hill House and fell in love with the concept and parallel created in the episode between two storms, and I decided to use that concept with this
Tamlin Masterlist
It really was not their fault.
How were the two males she loved the most supposed to know that spirits couldn't rest when anger involving them lingered this deeply? You sighed, watching Rhysand and Tamlin argue for what had to have been the 100th time since your death.
You held no ill-will towards Tamlin. Not now that you knew the truth. It had been a poorly planned attack from your father, hoping to remove the issue he believed Rhysand was meant to become to his place as High Lord.
Everything had been so meticulously planned by your father. Every detail had been set into perfect stone. Almost every detail, at least.
Your father had forgotten to account for you and your mother. The fool had believed the Spring Lord and his two oldest sons would find Rhysand long before they found you and Lady Night.
The rest went down in history.
Your mate was forced to watch you die, forced to carry your wings back to Spring, forced to watch his father splay them out over his desk.
You should have been allowed to rest when Tamlin burned them, mourning you with the loss of the last piece of you he had, but you couldn't.
You would never be at peace, watching them scream at each other, watching them fight, watching the love that used to burn so brightly between two friends dying out. âEnough,â your voice was a soft breeze in Rhysand's ear. âRhys, enough.â
They didn't stop, though. They never did. Especially now that Feyre had been involved. It was another loss for Tamlin. Another goodbye. Another death. Another moment he felt the Mother had long turned her back on him.
âIgnore him,â your voice wasn't a whisper for Tamlin. It wasn't a soft breeze. It was there, in his heart, warming him. âLet him feel his rage. He has the ability to find the truth, My love.â
That phantom tug hit him, calming him as he sat broken, berated by Rhysand over a female he didn't truly want anymore.
All you could do was place your head near his, never able to fully touch him, never able to truly comfort him. âI am. I'm always here.â You just can't see me, you thought bitterly.
He tugged. He tugged knowing he would feel nothing on the other end. But the message hit you full force, I wish you were here.
It did not take long for Rhysand's anger to grow. Becoming louder and louder until it hit a boiling point. Lethal quiet came from him despite you knowing he wanted to scream, âYou deserve everything that has befallen you. You deserve this pathetic, empty house, your ravaged lands. I don't care if you offered that kernel of life to save me, I don't care if you still love my mate. I don't care that you saved her from Hybern or a thousand enemies before that.â
âEnough, Rhysand!â The warning went unheard. As it always had. As it always would.
âI hope you live the rest of your miserable life alone here. It's a far more satisfying end than slaughtering you.â
âPlease,â you begged. âJust, stop. Please stop.â Another phantom tug had Tamlin sighing before he shifted and walked away, leaving Rhysand there alone. âRhys, please. I'm right here.â
âEnough!â Glass shattered on one of the windows, causing both males to jump. âThat's enough!â Had they been paying attention to more than just their own anger, their own mourning, their own love clouded by hatred, they would have noticed the faint smell of lilac and starlight lingering in the air. But, as you had grown used to, neither noticed.
He winnowed away as you reached for him, ignoring the chill he felt as he did and leaving you alone again. You let out a laugh as the bond, so full of cruel life, tugged on your end again. I wish you were here, it repeated.
âI am,â you cried. âI'm right here.â

Grief is such a weird feeling.
It's been 3 days since we had to put Smokey down and I still can't put a finger on what I'm feeling.
At times, the broken routine and absence are so loud. I'll go to put food in his dish or call him onto the couch and then flinch when I remember he's not there. I see him everywhere, and nowhere at all. He exists in empty spaces where I can't touch him and I start to cry. Suddenly, I feel the day we adopted him feel like yesterday. How could 5 years ever be enough? He was meant to die elderly on his favorite spot, body healthy and simply old. I crave what I didn't get to see. I mourn memories I didn't have. Not only are his places here empty, but all his places in the future are as well. The absence is screaming.
Sometimes, I feel it's already been years since he passed. It was this week it happened, but i feel like it was ages ago. I feel so far ahead with the pain becoming a dull ache. I almost feel I start to forget him, like feeling so far away has put me in a fog. I feel I've drifted so far away I'm able to fake cheerfulness riddled with guilt. It's like a mania, a twisted joy fueled by a constant hurt.
Then, I feel a bittersweet comfort. Smokey is all around me. I believe in his little spirit still being here, relaxing in the sun. I swear I see him at his food bowl out of the corner of my eye or sitting on the back of the couch. I have dreams of him laying on me, purring deeply and warming me. They're so vivid and tangible. We saw a cat-shaped cloud in the sky the day we said goodbye. It was there when he got home from the vet. It looked so happy on that cloud, a sign of peace. I feel a sad relief knowing we prevented a miserable death from his end-stage cancer. I feel his thanks and freedom all around the home, radiating off the places he would sleep.
Grief feels like the epitome of "will happen, happening, happened". I cry, laugh, hurt, and yearn. No matter what, my heart aches. I know it always will. I'm glad it always will. It's the mark of intense love. The deep scar of surrendering your heart to another soul.
I don't regret listening to Smokey's needs. I don't regret letting him fall asleep surrounded by us, before cardiac arrest took him. I would do it all over again, all 5 years, in every life. He was worth it. He will always be worth it.
I know I'll slowly accept what happened. It's just really hard and confusing right now.
So, I'll continue to walk the road. And, everyday, I'll put a bit of food in an empty dish. The one where a fat, grey cat sits purring. Unseen, but not absent.

omg for your recent post w the song and character ... neuvillette and est-ce tu m'aimes by maitre gims is soooo fitting to me and ive been seeing that song all over tiktok lately
est-ce que tu mâaimes?
note: hellooo nonnie, i see you, the lyrics are so pretty;;; but i would like to apologise in advance- i have no idea what made me make this so ANGSTY đđđ i was so ready to keep this completely fluffy. but the parasites in me-
send me a song + character!
neuvillette x reader || cw: angst, implied character death || 0.6k wc
the events take place many years in the past, before the main storyline.
i was ready to engrave your image in black ink under my eyelids;
in the last glimpse of you neuvilette could claim his own, you were smiling. whether you were blissfully unaware of surge of primordial seawater right behind you, or it was because you knew your end was nigh, he didnât know.
but at that moment, he stood too far away. too far to even realise what was happening, too far to get to you in time to do something, anything-
all he could do was stand in shock.
even in eternal sleep.
the wave collapsed, a profound thrash of splashing water followed by a deafening silence. the water then receded into the lake, and along with it, you.
all he could do was watch.
.
.
âWHAT IS JUSTICE TO YOU, NEUVILLETTE? TO SEPARATE ME FROM THE ONLY ONE I HOLD DEAR IN THIS WORLD?â
neuvillette calmly looked over at the person in the trial room, whoâd seemed to have lost all reason in a moment of desperation. âi am not the law, but the purveyor of it. it is your actions that have led you to this fate.â
âYOUâRE WRONG!â the woman took a shaky breath, struggling to steady herself. âi curse you,â she said softly. âi curse you to fall in love, and lose them just within your reach.â
the sound of the gavel rang through the air, and the case was closed.
that night, drops of rain fell from the sky.
.
.
i was supposed to love you, but saw the downpour.
perhaps, in a twisted way, this was karma.
as the honourable chief justice and iudex of fontaine, these were not thoughts he should be having. after all, every action in every trial was made with only the truth in mind. the verdict of the oratrice mechanique dâanalyse cardinale was omniscient and final.
but as neuvillette, whose blood coursed through his veins just as all men on teyvat, he couldnât help but think your life was his price to pay for the hurt he had caused to countless souls in the name of justice.
he deserved it, he thought. but you didnât.
a drop fell from the sky, and then another. clouds began to cover the sun on a hot summerâs noon, and thunder resounded through the nation. the drizzle turned to a shower, and then to a storm; trees violently shaking as the winds threatened to destroy all they touched.
the still lake threatened to flood, and a part of him wished your body would wash ashore with it.
the wish was futile.
i blinked, and you werenât the same;
the storm rang through fontaine for a week, without a sign of stopping. every day neuvillette would carry about his day as the iudex as normal as he could, and every night the thought of your last words to him kept him awake.
âwait for me, neuvillette! iâm coming!â
did you say it running towards him, or did you say it because you knew you would be pulled away? could he truly believe your spirit was out there somewhere, chasing after a way to come back?
not a soul knew the iudex had a lover, and not a soul knew he had lost them.
do i love you?
on the seventh day, the seemingly eternal storm ceased. neuvillette went outside to look at the sun rays peeking from behind the now silent clouds, only to find tears dripping down his own cheeks instead.

đŚ. Fate & Free will.đŚ
'May believe in free will to be able to decide the end, but as the world stands always at the sight of wrong so what is right can be seen clearer,
Both goes hand in hand, the will rooted within you is a calling of fate..if not written in gate no free will is at grant of click bait,
Fatigue loses, justice prevails, intent rules the cruel falls at the feet of fate of which written at the will of every other being even the no existing things'

Universe has called you for ages ago, due to some gloom and cloud you could not settle though, now in this lifetime you have the ability to take off the veil of skin from your soul and learn every ounce of what it means to be alive and dead.
Signs : You have double eyelids, sighs, brown and black hair, mole on forehead or near cheek, brown is prominent.
Spirit Animals : Snake, Peacock, Anything that changes and evolves caterpillars.
Message : You are being gifted with free will in this lifetime with the guidance of the fate being, you may have this sudden anxiety but not panic kind of, you go on a single thought and feeling for weeks and still it feels not like a waste. Because the universe is giving you that solace to exist and thrive through your soul.
Image.2
Every time things go wrong the world turns towards you and all you do smirk as if you awaited the blames as if you were named after shame, it is easy for people to walk over you despite firm boundaries because all they want is a little shade of peace underneath you.
Signs : Pisces and Saggitarus Dominance, day dreaming, you have your life figured out in your head, you see life as beautiful as you are, beauty is your solace, touching your own cheeks, looking into your own eyes, helps you calm down.
Spirit Animal : Deer, Swan, Fish, and White Polar bear.
Message : Divine has your strings attested to fate where whatever you do somewhat seems as an opposite to await, like if you do things like manifesting something it won't happen exactly, or will come half or will pass quicker, but when you let things at fate and have this flow that I have moved, done my actions, now the part of alignment is what I await for, is when things turns out in your favor, you may even have this quirky debates and sayings for divine and you are pure at heart and blessed so accept the blessings before what you see as one.
Image.3
Wild and free costs more than something sanity and that is the bondage, the ships, as if you have been stranded in an abandoned island for ages even to reach shore for yourself to attain something seems like crossing a sea wide spread as an challenge, you the queer, the unique, the non decipherable person, who is not an definite but very beautiful essence of the infinite being.
Signs : Distant from the world, no connection made so far from soul, too many flings, too many colleagues, they all hate you so true but their love just comes as soon as they see you fly or you let yourself loose.
Spirit Animal : Tigress, Horse, Fox, and Eagle.
Message : There is play of both for you where confusion is a must to clarity if everything is fine and clear you would not even move so timely the fate does come at play to test your core of free will where you may seem at war with timely dilemmas in your life especially in personal life, but as I said that is the part where you soul feels blessed beyond the blisters of life.

Hello! I would like to join in our event! This is my first time so I'm really sorry if I made you uncomfortable or if I didn't do this right
đšwith a Yandere Original Character? A surprise please! And the reader can be GN or female anything you want!
Thank you oh and please take care of yourself
Title: Locked in another realm
Character(s): Kitsune (Unnamed character/original work) Summary: You were in love, so in love, till you found out who he really was. Warnings/tags: Fem!reader, (monster) male yandere, general yandere themes, imprisonment
[ - A little present~! Event - Closed - ]
Trapped in the yokai realm you looked at the sky. Water flowing down from clouds something you thought that you would never see in your life now as you watched the birds a little too big fly around it. Houses far away from here you watched floating out of thin air in small islands you wondered how free they certainly looked.
Standing up from the grass floor, cleaning up your yukata (a disgusting gift from him but it was far better than draping in gold) from the dirt. You stared at the vast field in front of you. So close you thought taking a step towards it away from the house you were trapped in. Raising your hands you tried to reach for the fields till your hand touched an invisible barrier.
You were trapped in his domain.
In his home in the spirit realm, he placed a barrier just for you. Proven and needed by the multiple times you tried to run away from his hold. "You shouldn't run away like that from your dear husband. What if others misunderstand? Though they never did care, busy with their own lives to care about a human being in this realm." You were too naughty, he told you waving his finger right in from of your face at your after your last attempt from running away.
"Oh dear, your lovely hands had been bruised from banging the wall. Really you shouldn't do that after all that wall was made for your safety. I don't understand why you are so determined to go out."
He knew why you wanted to get out. The sly look on his face as he placed your palm on his lips kissing it as you watched your injuries heal.
It was disgusting in your eyes, everything was.
How his long nails dug into your leg when he finally had enough of this when you tried to get away from having a meal with him. As you tried to leave the room only for him to grab your leg and tell you to sit. When it started to get a little boring, he started to grow ever more impatient. It was only so much time when his patience would run out.
The sounds of wind hitting the grass makes you relax a little. It was fake and an illusion made by him as you were taken away from the human world a long time ago. But it was better than staying in a room that looked just like the house you once lived in. What was once lovely now felt suffocating.
You wished you could turn back time. Time long ago before you meet him. Before you fell in love, if you could you will run. Run far away from him but now it seems that it is too late.
Back when you were innocent and naive, when you fell in love first with his beauty you didn't believe that a man like him would fall for you... would notice you. It was every girl's fantasy after all that a kind young man, rich and smart would look at them and they would both fall in love and make a family.
But you also thought somewhere in your heart that him ever loving you was too good to be true.
But he did.
"Hello." You looked up and your heart felt like it had leaped out from your chest the moment you recognized his face. Seeing your flustered reaction, the man can't help but smile.
Taking the time to get to know you and then court you. You were delighted at first but soon you fell in love, crush to love, so in love with his affections and care. So in love with his touch, and his words of adoration.
An innocent love it seems, something so shallow when you accepted his courtship. Your parents were also happy for you delighted of finding such a fine man who could care for you.
Soon you married and found a home with him. The heart in your eyes was still so obvious yet many say that it was your husband who loves you more. You thought you were lucky for it not knowing that in the future it would only become shackles.
There were a few things or habits that made you question him sometimes when you looked at his sometimes sharp nails, thicker than humans but also sharper. Or how he always knew where you were as if he could sniff you out from the crowd or how his eyes were always on you no matter what you were doing, he was always staring. Sometimes you thought his eyes were like that of a canine animal instead of a circular shape, his pupils would look more like slits of a fox with a golden shine. Or how you thought you would see a fox tail on his shadow even though he himself didn't have one. You were never sure because when you tried to look again they were normal again.
As if they were never there in the first place.
You thought that this would last forever. Maybe you would grow up with him old and wrinkled but still in love and that every single tribulation has been or will be overcome with him and by his side.
You shouldn't have woke up that day and just stayed in your bed than maybe you could have stayed in ignorant bliss. Late at night following your husband when he suddenly left to the forest, you should have just closed your eyes till the sun reaches the sky. When you saw his fingers longer and sharper than before.
Looking back to see so much fur, tails that look like a fox. Your heart dropped when you counted 9 all swaying slowly. The long ears on his head flinching made you frightened as you look at them, taking a step back you didn't see the twig that snapped right under your foot notifying him of your presence.
Your heart dropped when you saw his eyes staring at you, first surprised and feral which quickly changed into shock and understanding. His eyes that you used to love to look at now were gold and pupils slit like that of a fox.
You ran. You ran as fast as you could. You have to get away from here, away from him, away from everything. You ignored how your night clothes get caught up in small bushes, ignored the small puddles you splashed while running dirtying your clothes even more. Tears were in your eyes, was it caused by fear, or was it caused by a broken heart you weren't sure. You were still too confused. Confused about everything.
But all you knew is that you need to get out right now.
But you were nowhere near fast enough.
He caught up to you too soon, flying into the high trees he grabbed your waist and then your hands when you tried to hit him but failed to. You screamed but you were silenced, tears flowing even more from your face as you begged and begged him not to kill you. You kept your eyes shut scared of the pain and you chanted not to be killed but maybe it was better to die. The sly smile he had as he looked at you was both familiar and not, he was not the man you love. Not anymore.
The purring in his body as his tails warp around you to protect you from the cold. It didn't give any comfort at all.
"My dear, you know I would never kill." He told you as he wiped out your tears. No matter how much you moved, how much you struggled it was no use. He had you in his arms.
That night you had to say goodbye to the human realm as the monster took you away leaving nothing.
"Not when it took so long to finally have you."

Just a few thoughts in the night
My little fix on Fairly "The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish!" won't let me go, so I've been thinking a little bit about everything. Today I decided to refresh my memory about how fairies were represented in myths and folklore. Of course, I turned to wikipedia with this question. It was interesting to find out that fairies were described as spirits with a glow, and their bodies had the consistency of a thick cloud, "and their bodies are so changeable because of the refinement of the spirit." By nature, they are quite touchy creatures, but also fairies have always been ready to thank a person for doing them a favor / helping. It is better not to accept gifts from fairies. After a while, the "fairy gold" may well turn out to be leaves or crumbs from a pie. Well, how can you forget that these creatures are terrible pranksters? It was they who tangled their hair at night, soiled things that were dried in the air, stole small objects, led travelers away from the true path. And besides small tricks, they could have more dangerous behavior, well, for example, it was believed that if a person died unexpectedly, his fairies stole and planted a dummy. Do you remember that fairies are offended? Well, they're also vindictive. The avenging fairy can cause serious illnesses and cause paralysis in livestock, or cause fires. And they also stole or took children (and not only) to their magical world forever. No one knew about the fate of these unfortunate people, but there are two options - either an absolute joyful life without worries, or death from homesickness. Oh, and many more people who supposedly had magical abilities received them from fairies. Just imagine an au in which the fairies from FOP would be more like the fairies from the myths (I don't know if there are similar au and fanfiction on them, but agree, the idea is interesting). Or in general, where the characters are transferred to a more medieval/Victorian setting and interact with fairies. Imagine, fairies don't just help children, but use them for their own selfish fairy purposes. Either for revenge, or for a prank, or for the sake of, uh, the subsequent transfer of children to the Devil. Idk, it's fun to play with and all that.
(Well, it seems that in the Victorian era people especially strongly believed in fairies, so, huh, keep Timmy that a little boy in the Victorian era and meets fairies. They definitely will NOT give him to the Devil instead of their child ("It was popularly believed that this dangerous habit for humans had to do with the "subordinate" position of fairies, who are forced to pay tribute to the Devil with their own children; to save the latter, they steal human ones"))

Astrology Observations 1.
This is my first time please donât judge.
Iâve noticed Pisces usually are the self proclaimed, âdifferent and special beingsâ instead of Aquarius. Pisces Sun and or Venus will openly state how different they are.
A Sagittarius is the easiest zodiac sign for me to spot. Itâs just so⌠obvious??? Even when theyâre not the usual extroverted type thereâs always this energy of a free spirit.
Scorpio risings are secretive but only for a period of time. Once you get to know them they usually open up. Scorpio moons however⌠are usually always private/secretive no matter the time frame of knowing each other.
Iâve experienced Virgos being so hypercritical they become hypocritical. Virgos have high expectations of others and themselves, but usually others cannot reach them. They also cannot reach their own standards. Considering, their a mutable sign this is why they can be critical but not back it up with constant action. Their expectations and perception is consistently changing, but still manages to remain high.
Ok⌠Cancer rising/moon/mars usually moody asf. No chill vibes. Very strict on comfortability and not like fixed signs comfortable. More so a nostalgic feeling or certain things needed to fulfill an emotional need. If those things (people, places, objects) change drastically there is a difficulty to move forward. If anything goes outside of a routine they get very upset.
I wish I could say one sign seems more emotionally mature than the other. Iâve met so many people with all different types of placements and most were emotionally stunted in some form and there were no similarities. So I think being toxic and or unhealthy can happen no matter the natal chart.
I have Neptune 1° degree away from my ascendentđĽ˛. Neptune in the first house/conjunct ascendent is not an easy placement. Very creative. Very unrealistic. A strong and growing imagination. Head in the clouds. Projections. Projections. Even the movements I make with my body or face usually get misinterpreted. Can have a distorted perception of physical form. When Saturn was transiting my 1st house I lost a lot of weight, but I didnât seem to notice how skinny I looked. People would make commentary and I thought I looked fine. Looking back at photos I realize how malnourished and skinny I was. Neptune in the 1st can also cause a tendency to be addicted to anything. Most would say drugs, but for me itâs usually any hobby that can allow an obsessive escape from reality. Low self esteem can be present considering the elusive nature of the self.
Saturn in the 2nd house folks struggle with making a higher income or a comfortable salary throughout their life. However, Saturn in the 2nd is good with being frugal and budgeting. Usually can save really easily with this placement unless Saturn is severely debilitated.
Venus/Mars in Pisces and being attracted to someone weird, eccentric. They donât have a consistent type and can date all different types of people.
Mars conjunct Venus aspect Iâm so jealous and I want. People with mars conjunct Venus can be very attractive and flirty. Usually a chick/guy magnet. People fall in love with them easily. Attract a lot of attention in some form.
Chiron is very important in the solar return chart. Whatever house it is in will be healed but also broken down and injured in some way. Or there could be a discovery of a wound depending on what house will change the description. Ex:Chiron in 7th, struggle in partnership, may break up with current partner, attract difficult/emotionally stunted individuals. Chiron in the 1st can struggle with intense amount of doubt and low self esteem concerning the body and how they show up in the world. I do believe in a solar return chart the house Chiron resides in either heals in some form or the individual learns a pivotal lesson by the end of the year.
8th house synastry is emotionally taxing. I have this with my mom and other friends and itâs a lot. 8th house synastry usually thereâs a obvious power dynamic. Or one person is more obsessed/attached than the other. 12th house synastry can also have unequal dynamics however I do think both individuals will feel a pull towards each other(whether they admit it or not). 12th house synastry although elusive has the potential to make you feel great comfortability and unconditional love.
Venus conjunct mars in synastry wasnât all that for me. It felt superficial and we mainly connected on a sexual level.
Why does NO one talk about moon conjunct moon in synastry. I love it and itâs nice!! Depending on the moon I guess opinions can differ. However both peopleâs emotional waves will be similar and easily understood by the other. Allowing an easy process of being seen and heard. I connected deeply with men and women that I had this aspect with. It is sad and painful when the relationship ends because thereâs a mutual understanding of each other.
9th house synastry is dope and I wish I experienced it more. Thereâs an opportunity to learn something or you are more open to learning new things from the other person. Depending on what planet/zodiac sign/ degree it can show what topics tend to expand in the presence of a 9th house intruder. Also morals can be similar or the same on politics, social issues, etc.
Mars in the 4th house synastry is hell. I donât like it usually the mars person brings disruption or change in the home in some way. They can without trying cause emotional distress or upheavals in the 4th house person. Obviously if mars is strongly and comfortably placed I think this can lessen the effects. Such as if itâs in its domicile or exaltation. However if mars is struggling on itâs own in the natal chart I do think itâs a red flag đŠ. Considering the 4th house is the most sensitive and hidden house.Technically your ancestral background and emotional well being resides in the 4th house which can trigger a whole lot of things.
Usually people see 4th house as good because itâs home and family. However if your family lineage has generational trauma this area can be a trigger landmark. This is the house of your deepest, habitual characteristics that only come out when comfortable. Itâs also traditions your family upheld which can be any⌠kind not just the standard example. Such as tendencies of toxicity or unhealthy habits that linger from previous generations.

Galatians 5:19-20- Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions.
Galatians 5:19-21- Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing and anything similar. I am warning you about these things, as I warned you before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Micha 5:10-12- In that day, this is the Lord's declaration, I will remove your horses from you and wreck your chariots. I will remove the cities of your land and tear down all your fortresses. I will remove sorceries from your hands, and you will not have any more fortune tellers.
Acts 19:17-20- When this became known to everyone who lived in Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks, they became afraid, and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high esteem. And many who had become believers came confessing and disclosing their practices, while many of those who had practiced magic collected their books and burned them in front of everyone. So they calculated their value and found it to be fifty thousand pieces of silver, in this way the word of the Lord flourished and prevailed.
Isaiah 8:19-22- When they say to you, "Inquire of the mediums and the spiritists who chirp and mutter, shouldn't a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead, on behalf of the living? Go to God's instruction and testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, there will be no dawn for them. They will wander through the land, dejected and hungry. When they are famished, they will become enraged, and looking upward, will curse their king and their God. They will look toward the earth and see only distress, darkness, and the gloom of affliction, and they will be driven into thick darkness.
Isaiah 19: 1-4- A pronouncement concerning Egypt: Look, the Lord rides on a swift cloud and is coming to Egypt. Egypt's idols will tremble before him, and Egypt will loose heart. I will provoke Egyptians against Egyptians, each will fight against his brother and each against his friend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom. Egypt's spirit will be disturbed within it, and I will frustrate it's plans. Then they will inquire of idols, ghosts, and spiritists. I will hand over Egypt to harsh masters, and a strong king will rule it. This is the declaration of the Lord of Armies.
Acts 8:9-13- A man named Simon had previously practiced sorcery in that city and amazed the Samaritan people, while calming to be somebody great. They all paid attention to him, from the least to the greatest and they said, "This man is called the Great Power of God". They were attentive to him because he had amazed them with his sorceries for a long time, but when they believed Philip, as he proclaimed
Deuteronomy 18:10-14- No one among you is to sacrifice his son or daughter in the fire, practice divination, tell fortunes, interpret omens, practice sorcery, cast spells, consult a medium or spiritists, or inquire of the dead. Everyone who does these acts is detestable to the Lord, and the Lord your God is driving out the nations before you because of these detestable acts. You must be blameless before the Lord your God. Though these nations you are about to drive out listen to fortune-tellers and diviners, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do this.
Isaiah 47: 8-14- So now hear this, lover of luxury, who sits securely, who says to herself, I am, and there is no one else. I will never be a widow or know the loss of children. These two things will happen to you suddenly, in one day, loss of children and widowhood. They will happen to you in their entirety, in spite of your many sorceries and potency of your spells. You were secure in your wickedness, you said No one sees me. Your wisdom and knowledge led astray. You said it yourself, I am, and there is no one else. But disaster will happen to you, you will not know how to avert it. And it will fall on you, but you will be unable to ward it off . Devastation will happen to you suddenly and unexpectedly. So take your stand with your spells and your many sorceries, which you have wearied yourself with from your youth. Perhaps you will be able to succeed, perhaps you will inspire terror! You are worn out with your many consultations. So let the astrologers stand and save you, those who observe the stars, those predict monthly what will happen to you. Look, they are like stubble, fire burns them. They cannot rescue themselves from the power of the flame. This is not a coal for warming themselves, or a fire to sit beside!
