" I'm Batty 4 U "
For the @steddiemicrofic September Prompt: Charm || 548 Words || Rating: T || Warnings: implied verbally absuvie parent, implied period-typical homophobia
It sweeps through the group like wildfire after the whole Vecna ordeal. Something about everyone trying to go back to normal, re-engaging with non-world-ending topics.
Out window shopping, El happens upon a charm bracelet display and within the week convinces Hopper to buy one for her and Max. And whoâs to deny the girl that's suffered through so much.Â
El states it as her âmomento of who she is, and those who helped her find that definition.â All while thumbing the rainbow and sunflower charms.Â
So itâs no surprise when Robin, Nancy, and Erica are seen wearing their own charm bracelet designs after Girlâs Night. Then through a spidering chain of conversations and convincing, the rest of the party soon each have custom bracelets.
For Steve though, the issue is that heâs just not a bracelet sort of guy. The occasional pinching when it doesnât sit right. Constant jangling and shifting every time you move. Itâs not for him.
(Plus he knows his Dad would make him throw it out if he ever saw it. âJewelry isnât for men.â and all that. (Of course I donât agree, Robin. But I still donât want to risk it getting tossed.))
Until Robin solves the problem for him. Turning his bracelet into a keychain for his car keys. And he didnât realize just how much heâd come to care for said keychain once itâd stop pinching his wrist.Â
Exactly as El had painted it from the get-go; a constant reminder that heâs more than the harsh words his dad sneers as âencouragementâ.
Of who he matters to and of who matters to him. His family.Â
But itâs not for another few months that his keychain gains a companion.
âHey, uh. Hey, Stevie.â
Theyâd danced around one another for weeks. From exchanged glances at the hospital, to touching under the guise of lending a hand, pulling excuses to spend time together.
âYea?â
Finally culminating in Steve getting fed up and testing the waters with a kiss âhelloâ.Â
âI know weâve only been technically dating for a month now. But Iâm pretty sure I remember you being a big relationship guy back in high school, and I figured well âStevie probably never had someone buy him the cheesy anniversary gifts he bought for othersâ-â
âThey weren't cheesy, they were well thought out-â
âAnd so, I got you something as a faux sort of âHappy One Month Anniversaryâ gift.â
Eddie shoves the little trinket into Steveâs hands, forcing him to drop his book.Â
âSmall towns, especially Hawkins in particular, suck and so I figured this is as public as weâd be able to be. And I know the bat was maybe a bold choice considering the bites and all that shit but- Actually maybe this was a bad idea- Ya know what, give it back right now, Stevie. This was stupid- Iâm gonna do something else.â
Deftly leaning away, Steve hooks his arm around his boyfriend so he canât lunge for the keychain again.
âOh hell no. My boyfriend gave this to me, itâs mine now. You canât take Ozzy from me.â
âOzzy? What?â
âYeah, the little bat charm. His nameâs Ozzy, he told me so himself.â
âWhat-?? Shit- Jesus Christ, youâre so lame. Come here so I can kiss your lame, adorable face.â
#bad news: he did not actually solve the jangling#but he has come to accept it#a little bit of reclaiming your character motifs in this one#also don't think about eddie putting little charms on his belt chain btw it's too cute#enjoy another fluffy prompt fill because the other idea I had was so angsty#I'm still considering doing the second fill since I already drafted it tho but we shall see#anyone else get possessed with the sudden urge to draw a set of keys with 21 semi-realistic little metal charms? no? just me?#(while zoomed into the image. right click the image and open in a new tab if you want full resolution for whatever reason)#also naming this microfic after my favorite charm because i couldn't resist (still kicking myself for forgetting the dice charm ahh)#steddie#stranger things#steve harrington#eddie munson#steddie microfic#my posts#my writing#my art

cor meum, manus tuas.
synopsis: After your illness strikes again, Dottore decides to gift you a failed experi-, a new companion in order to soothe your injured heart.
includes: dottore w/ gn! reader
notes: A cute fluff fic where Dottie gives you Foxttore and the pufflings as a pet (the blue monster creature from Nahida's fairy tale.) He loves you a lot. Really just pure fluff and Foxttore getting on Dottore's nerves. Enjoy!
For as long as Il Dottore had known you, you had always been one to suggest things that he had no interest in. It was a habit of yours, and sometimes heâs not sure if youâre being genuine about it or if you simply want to rile him up, as you usually do.
One such example was back in the Akademiya when the two of you finally successfully reversed-engineered one of those machines after a painstaking amount of work. It was arduous and tiring, but immensely rewarding. Oh, he had so many ideas and things to do now, but you- you had other plans.
âSo, now that weâve got it under our control, I think we should program it to have some new tricks.â Zandik had paused at your words, as for once that was a good idea. He wondered what the limit of such a killing machine could possibly be.
âGo on.â
âAlright, imagine this, itâs about to swoop in and land the finishing blow, but instead, a whole bunch of confetti pops out and-â
âNo.â
âYou canât even pick up a sword properly. You know nothing about fighting like I do! Just hear me out, itâll be a great distraction because theyâd never be expecting that, and boom, thatâs where the real attack comes in.â
âNo.â (Later on, he found out that youâd programmed the thing to have a single flower shoot out, just for him. He swiftly removed it after you were done laughing.)Â
Or when you had begged and pleaded with him to let you teach him how to cook, just once. It was no secret you were always the one on cooking duty during the Akademiya, for he had a severe lack of skill for it. Furthermore, Zandik had no interest in it, not having the time or patience for something just meant as sustenance. You, however, were insistent on at least teaching him the basics, for it was no way for a student to live (according to you.)
The slicing and dicing went well enough, but the moment you turned your back for a few moments, he had somehow set the smoke detector off, and the Akademiyaâs dorm director gave you two a good scolding. You learned your lesson after this particular incident, but from your giggles, he knew you didnât feel an ounce of regret.
Your antics were truly something he wouldnât get used to. And now, over four hundred years later, your teasing nature had remained the same, only that it became more verbal as you didnât have the strength to pull off your elaborate plans anymore.
Which is why lately you had been clinging to him with pleading eyes and a jutted lip, vehemently asking for a pet despite his numerous rejections, going so far as to try and recruit other segments (who, unfortunately for you, did not join your cause.)
âPlease honey, my darling, my beloved, my-â
âMy answer is not going to change, [Name]. I will not tolerate anything running around and causing a mess.â
âAww, but come on. I know you love cats. I know you secretly pet them when no oneâs looking. I know that-â
âThatâs enough from you. Now, will you sit or should I strap you down instead?â
That line of conversation persisted for a while until you mostly gave up, only throwing the idea in from time to time with a hmph. But now, he was uncharacteristically wondering if there could be a solution to this problem.Â
Lately, you had been confined to your bed and room, too physically weak to move around much. He and the segments had done their best, as they always do, to take care of you, but one did not need to be a genius to know that you were feeling down. Not only because of the aches your body gave you, but also because you were lonely for most of the day, seeing as his other selves were usually too busy to spend an adequate amount of time with you. Once again, despite his lack of care for the emotions and feelings of others, he could see straight through your feigned expressions of nonchalance.
Dottore hated it when you pretended around him.
He could raise the topic but it would probably make matters worse. Instead, it was much more logical to work toward a solution for the issue - the solution being a companion to keep a smile on your face, and your mind at ease. Now, an actual pet probably would be a hassle to maintain in the lab, knowing the kind of activities that were⌠well, unsafe to say the least, so he put that possible solution to the side for now.
Initially, he sought to create something mechanical, having seen the mechanical animals from Fontaine. Of course, his creation would be far superior, and it would be quite helpful with your condition and all. But upon further thinking, knowing your tastes⌠youâd probably prefer something softer, considering how much you liked to cuddle him and your plushies.Â
It was a conundrum the scholar found himself in, making his darling lover happy was not something that could be so easily scientifically concocted like the rest of the conclusions he reached. It required much more than simply following the lines of reason. Perhaps thatâs why Dottore often struggled with it.Â
Yet he did not have the luxury of time to continue pondering, for he did not want to leave you by yourself for much longer. And so he continued to sit at his desk, his hands automatically filling out paperwork while his mind was focused elsewhere, still thinking about what he could possibly gift you. Something warm and cuddly with the ability to communicate with you to some extentâŚ
That was when he remembered something he created long, long ago.
The memories of that creation came back to him rather quickly once he remembered. Dottore remembered every experiment heâd done, but some were just not very special or successful and lingered very little in his mind. This was one of those unnoteworthy results. It was no secret that he was known to⌠play around with the concept of life, ignoring the rules that guarded it so strictly⌠and it was this idea that led to the birth of a creature, one that certainly did not belong to this world.
It was a monstrous, furry black thing that hid its true self with some kind of suit, its lone eye bright and red. It hadnât been the first time his experiments led him to the unknown, but this⌠was just something he didnât care about at all. After a few tests on the creature, he lost interest rather quickly. It was the farthest thing away from the life Dottore wanted to toy with. In fact, he had planned to dispose of the thing, but the creature seemed to understand his words more than he anticipated. It quickly scurried away, creating chaos and knocking down almost everything it could, skillfully making its escape.
Dottore had contemplated searching for his odd creation but decided that it wasnât worth the time or energy. Judging from the distaste it held for him, it probably wouldnât come around anyway. So, it could exist in the far depths of the lab for all he cared. It wasnât like this was the first time he threw things into the back and forgot about them. Now, he was rather pleased that he didnât get rid of his experiment. He had known you for long enough that he was sure youâd find such a thing cute, for some reason. It checked the fluffy and easily holdable boxes too. His only question was whether it could be alive after all these years⌠well, it was certainly worth a shot, seeing as his solutions were limited.
The answer to Dottoreâs question was a yes. It had unfortunately taken much longer than heâd liked to search the dusty rooms (although admittedly, he had gotten a bit distracted with reviewing the old things he dumped) but at long last, he had found the round creature peacefully dozing without a care in⌠some kind of bed it had crafted with a bunch of papers and black fur. It looked perfectly content⌠in all honesty, Dottore was a bit interested in what it had been up to all this time. Maybe it held more scientific value than he thoughtâŚÂ
Regardless, in one swift motion, Dottore grabbed the creature by the scruff of its neck and it immediately awoke, attempting to scramble away. Once its single eye laid on the man who so rudely interrupted its sleep, it blinked, before multiplying its strength to escape, even trying to scratch him, but to no avail. The Harbingerâs grip was far too strong, of course. Meanwhile, Dottore had already lost a bit of patience from the creatureâs incessant movements.
âStop that,â he demanded sharply, and the critter instantly went still as its eye continued to stare at him completely widened. Dottore smiled, which felt rather eerie and frightening to the oversized creature.
âWhat, did you think I came all the way here to finish the job? Oh no, if I wanted to, I would have done so already a long time ago. Instead, I have another use for you. Something that will benefit both of us. Iâm sure youâll agree,â he hummed as he turned to leave the room. But as he took a single step, he found himself stepping on something soft. Curiously lifting his foot, he looked down to see a small, black, round ball of fluff staring at him with a red eye identical to the creature he held in his hand. And then another came into view.
⌠And another. Soon at least over a dozen had popped out of the shadows, all watching at him with anticipating eyes. He had forgotten these balls of black fur were also a byproduct of creating the creature. Now quite a few had surrounded his feet and were hopping up and down, attempting to climb his pants, which he quickly shook off with a scowl. Well, it looked like these things were going to follow him regardless of what he saidâŚ
âIf you all are going to follow me, be prepared to make yourself useful,â he sighed in exasperation before finally leaving, stepping on a few more in the process. (The usefulness in question, was making sure youâd be left with a smile.) Based on the odd squeaking noises the smaller creatures made, they seemed to be on board with the idea.Â
â
When your husband suddenly presented you with a gift contained in a rather large box, you were a bit surprised. Not because you were receiving a gift, but because of the size of it. Normally, he would give you small trinkets and such, things heâd thought youâd like (that had no real purpose to him, retrieved solely for you. Yes, he was very cute unintentionally. You had a little shelf for his stuff.) But you had no clue what he could have possibly gotten for you that warranted the need for such a big containerâŚ
You had long discarded your book in favor of new entertainment (you were reading the same sentences over and over anyway), your hands gliding over the rough material. Dottore was looking at you expectantly, having barely said anything besides shoving the thing on your bed, with a simple âfor you.â You couldnât help but chuckle, your chest getting a bit lighter from the previously stuffy atmosphere dissipating.
âAre you going to explain yourself or leave me guessing as to what Iâve done to receive such a thing?â
âYou have been lonely and tired, and I seek to alleviate your pain. Yet there are certain things I cannot always do, which is why I found a solution,â he stated simply, pushing the box closer to you as if it was no big deal. Your eyes widened as your jaw hung, speechless, before you sent a small, teasing smile to your husband.
âI⌠well, who knew you could be such a considerate man? Keep that up and youâll make me blush.â You couldnât help but heat up a bit from his concern, although he didnât say it outright. And you didnât really have it in you to deny his words too, he was right after all, you have been lonely and tired from being cooped up in your room all day.
âStill, I want a hint! Ah, itâs too heavy for me to even lift upâŚâ You couldnât guess what could be in here. âCould it be the latest new novels from Inazuma?â
âNo, but those are on the way. Itâs something more-â At that moment, the box slightly shifted and you blinked in surprise.
âOh, oh! Are these new models of Betaâs miniature Ruin Machines? Did he finally make the Ruin Sentinels series?â In truth, initially, the segment wasnât interested in creating such pointless machines, but after you oh so innocently challenged him to make them movable and fit in the palm of your hand, he took the bait and presented them to you smugly. Needless to say, you very much liked your little collection of action figures, and you were hoping he had finally made ones that could fly.
âNo, itâs-â Once again, he was interrupted by even more dramatic shuffling, thumping echoing loudly from inside the box which made you scoot back a bit.
âDottore, you sure whateverâs in here isnât going to attack meâŚ?â Your voice was more lighthearted than worried, but now you were squinting at him a bit suspiciously. Dottoreâs expression remained unaffected, but inside he was the slightest bit annoyed. He had told those damn things not to move around. Thankfully, a sharp slap to the cover of the box caused the movements to cease, and he only smiled at you once again.
âAs I was saying, itâs something you have been asking about for a long time.â He watched as your face turned thoughtful, fingers drumming when suddenly it became very obvious as to what it was.Â
âIs it⌠is it what I think it is?â He found your expression rather amusing as he witnessed your eyes becoming sparkly with joy.
âGo ahead,â Dottore motioned and you wasted no time pulling the cover off the box, your eyes meeting a furry, blue creature whose lone eye gazed up at you curiously. You blinked at it, and it blinked back at you, but you had no time to say anything before some other unknown creatures began pouring out the box and spilling onto your bed, some crawling on your lap. This was certainly not the average pet you had expected⌠but you were not complaining. These things were the cutest - not to mention the little strand of hair on the top.
âDottore,â you giggled at the fluff tickling your skin, âwhat exactly are these- oh!â Your words were interrupted when the larger creature suddenly jumped out of the box and launched itself into you, pawing your chest. You reciprocated the attention in delight, giving it numerous head pats and taking a closer look at it. Most of its soft fur seemed to be blue, although its head was black, and its beak was harder than the rest of its body. Regardless, it was completely adorable, and it seemed to like you very much.
âIt is something I created in my lab during one of my experiments. I figured it would be something youâd enjoy.â You lit up, and the scholar couldnât help but appreciate how you seemed to glow.
âYou made these little guys for me? Oh, I always knew you could be such a romantic! I have my husband, my son, and now a cute pet. Isnât it nice to see our family grow, Zandik?â He remained silent at your hastily made conclusion, deciding that the little white lie wouldnât hurt, especially not when you looked this happy. After all, he imagined your response to him keeping this creature in the backrooms of his laboratory for ages wouldnât be very well received, considering how attached you were to it already. Thankfully, you didnât notice the glare the creature sent him either.
âDo they have names yet?â Dottore thought back to the string of numbers and letters attached to this experiment and opted not to disclose that, shaking his head. You hummed, trying to think of what name to bestow upon your new pets until you quickly came up with something good.
âFoxttore,â you stated firmly.
âFoxttore?â He repeated a few seconds after you, rather unimpressed.
âYes! Because he looks like a fox, and he also kind of looks like you!â You playfully squished the creatureâs cheeks.
âI bear no resemblance to that creature,â he frowned, immediately refuting your statement.
âDonât look like that,â you teased. âItâs a compliment. Youâre both cuties that are the same shade of blue,â you leaned in to kiss him gently, a simple way to silence him despite his vexation. âNow as for these little onesâŚâ you thought once more as the black puff balls clung to your arm, Dottorelings⌠no, thatâs too long⌠how about pufflings? Yes, that will do nicely!â Seemingly understanding your words, the pufflings began jumping up and down in glee. You then moved closer to the man and enveloped him in a hug.
âThank you for this, Zandik. I am very happy,â you whispered quietly as you snuggled into his neck. It was the truth - you really were happy to have some company constantly around. Your husband returned the hug and you loved how his strong arms felt around you.
âOf course. But if they happen to cause you any⌠trouble,â he sent a look to the thing now called âFoxttoreâ, âbe sure to tell me.â
âAww, donât say that. Foxttore is a good boy! Right?â You smiled brightly at your new pet, who was kneading the blanket, watching the two of you. The contrast between its creatorâs less-than-pleasant face and your wide grin was stark and rather easy to choose from. It then hopped up and practically wedged itself in between the two of you, looking up to you with a pleading eye, desperate for attention. You squealed with delight and pressed the creature to your cheek, nuzzling against it.
When Dottore noticed the cheeky look his creation sent him, he wondered if this was actually a good idea.
â
Foxttore and the pufflings were the best and cutest companions you could ever ask for.
The pufflings were always scattered about your room, resting in different locations. You honestly had no clue how many there were, nor could you tell them apart, but you swore they squeezed through the bottom of your door somehow because sometimes theyâd return with random items. They seemed pretty starved for attention⌠they even liked it when you squished them like a stress ball.
Foxttore was equally as cuddly, but also rather intelligent. He would fetch you items so you didnât need to get up, and he could even turn a doorknob⌠you were fascinated. One of your favorite things to do was give him a note for him to deliver to a segment, and he would actually deliver it. (Said note usually contained you begging a segment to visit you, otherwise youâd die without their attention.)
After a lot of cuddling and rubbing, you found out that Foxttore was just a severely oversized puffling with four legs instead. That blue fur of his wasnât even his, just a suit he wore. It was quite funny to see him without it on. It seemed rather shy without its fox fur, but with enough kisses, hugs, and reassurance, it had no problem lounging around without it.
You read them stories, showed them everything your room had to offer, placed some of Betaâs cute pink bows on them, bathed with them - you were starting to look forward to the day much more now that you could wake up to them.
â
While Dottore knew that you would get attached to the little monstrosities he gifted you, perhaps he didnât anticipate it to reach this degree. Even after you had gotten well enough to stroll around the lab again, the blasted things were attached to your hip the whole time.
Visiting the segments? They would come up to you, caressing and teasing you with their deliciously infuriating small touches and kisses, and then all of a sudden a small crash would sound throughout the room, the culprit being Foxttore.
Visiting him? Heâd have you on his lap, about to pin you to his desk, when he noticed the pufflings watching him from all corners of the room. It was maddening trying to chase them away, but then youâd get pouty about how the creatures didnât like to be alone. (The only segment that the creature seemed to like was Zandy, although it had taken a while - a bit of scolding from you, and many offerings of food from the child to Foxttore had done the trick.)
As much as Dottore was glad your mood had improved greatly, admittedly, it would please him if he could just chuck his creations out into the Snezhnayan snow, just to finally get some alone time with you. But you loved them too much, so he resolved to resort to other means⌠eventually.
Over time, your pets gradually began to not hog your attention the whole time, but you were very insistent on helping Dottore and them become friends. It wasnât very easy, however, they seemed to have some tension between them. You werenât really sure why, but you still loved having them together.
â
âDottore! Oh Dottore, you have to watch this,â you puffed out your chest proudly as Foxttore trotted behind you. Your husband looked at you questioningly before you spread your arms out, directing them toward the creature.
âI taught Foxttore tricks! Watch this! Foxttore, sit!â Your pet obediently sat down, his tail wagging (although you had no clue how that worked since it was just a suitâŚ)
âFoxttore, spin around!â
âFoxttore, roll over!â
âNow high-five me!â Dottore watched in amusement as the blue creature followed your commands with ease. Perhaps it really was smarter than he thought. Regardless, all he cared about was that you were occupied with something, rather than being by yourself.
âOkay, now fetch Dottoreâs secret stash of sweets!â At that, Foxttore began making its way over to one of the numerous bookshelves in Dottoreâs office before the Harbinger quickly realized what you said, and stopped the creature in its tracks.
âI knew there were too many pieces missing,â he stared at you humorlessly, while you sweated nervously.
âW-What? You said I was allowed to take some!â
âI said you, not this⌠thing,â the man then picked up Foxttore by its strands of blue hair, which the creature fought at, and dropped it in your arms like it was some pest. âIâm moving it.âÂ
âPlease donât! I wonât do it again!â
â
The continued pampering of Foxttore had, unfortunately for your lovers, become a norm to see around the lab. He was a spoiled lil shit, in other words, who could do no wrong in your eyes⌠which is why every new thing you did had little to no effect on them anymore besides an eye twitch of annoyance and a promise to bully the creature later. The current situation was one such time. Dottore had come into your room only to see many abnormally small clothes scattered on your bed, with you in the center of it all.
âOh Dottie, youâre just in time! Look at what I got!â You then held up Foxttore in all his glory, his new hoodie substantially thinner with different patterns, a great big smile on your face.
⌠It was only you who had the privilege of using his time like this.
âNow before you ask how I got these, I had them custom-made! See, I wanted to sew the clothes myself, but my hands have been too shaky lately and then youâd get all grumpy if I hurt myself with the needle, so I just asked Columbina to find someone for me and she did! Sheâs a great friend!â You continued to ramble on.Â
âSee, the poor thing gets too hot sometimes, especially when he starts running on our walks,â you said sadly, while he wondered how exactly you walked this monstrosity, âthatâs why I got him different clothes! And theyâre stylish too! Look, heâs even got pajamas! Donât you think itâs cute?â You looked at him, your eyes sparkling and glittering with light that dazzled him.
In all honesty, Dottore didnât really care about the little abomination of a creature. In fact, he probably leaned more into disdain for it. But what he did care about was you, and what made you happy, what put a smile on your face since he hated for it to be missing.
âI believe your definition of cute is rather unusual.â
âHuh? How could you not think Foxttore is the cutest thing ever? Oh⌠I see your game. You think Iâm the cutest thing ever, donât you?â You boldly teased him which didnât phase him, only making a confident smirk grow on his face.
âI suppose that would be accurate, yes. Nothing else comes to mind that could be compared to your beauty,â he said smoothly, plucking the creature from your hands and dropping it elsewhere, which it clearly disliked, but he was more interested in your reaction. Your mouth slightly ajar, heat creeping up your face with a flustered expression, breathing speeding up a bit.
âA-As long as youâre aware,â you mumbled shyly, turning your face away, although your slight smile was apparent.
Needless to say, Zandik was always aware of his beloved.
â
You always loved it when you were able to leave the lab. Sometimes they were frequent outings, sometimes they were very rare. It all depended on how well you had been feeling lately. Today, you had finally been able to go out for a short walk with Dottore after so long. The cold air and snow had you shivering, but feeling the wind hit your cheeks was worth it. (And being able to cling to your husband was a definite plus in your books.) But you were still happy to come back home.
⌠Especially when you were greeted by your little friend.
As soon as you walked through the door, you noticed that Foxttore was impatiently waiting by the entrance. The moment he saw you, he sped toward you at light speed and pawed at your legs for pets, hopping up and down. You couldnât help but laugh as you bent down to give him some attention which he happily reciprocated, but then he pulled away and started wildly running around the two of you.
âAww, Foxttore is having zoomies!â
â⌠Pardon?â
âHeâs having zoomies!â You smiled at your husband before crouching down, and your pet immediately ran into your arms and settled himself there as you picked him up. âAww, you must have missed us so much, didnât you?â You cooed as you rubbed his tummy, while Dottore merely stared at you blankly. The man then noticed the creatureâs eye had narrowed into a half circle directed toward him as if to mock him.Â
If there was a point system between the two of them as to who was able to steal your attention more, Dottore would sorely be losing.
â
It was one of the few nights where you were able to spend a night like most couples do at the end of the day - resting in the same bed with your lover. You werenât even sure how you managed to do it this time. You thought it was probably due to your persistence but also that he was genuinely tired. (Well, he had been genuinely tired for ages now, but you were able to get him on a weak day, perhaps.)
You had always loved it when Dottore held you, even if it was slack or just one arm, you always felt safe. Protected. Warm. Happy. The feelings only amplified when both his arms caged you into his chest, which was the perfect place for you to snuggle. (Still, heâd never admit to being the little spoon from when he was a student.)
âHey, Zandik?â
âHmm?â
âThank you for everything youâve done lately, by the way.â
âOf course,â his answer was as simple as could be. He stroked your hair languidly, always one to brush off your thank yous.
âI mean it,â you wiggled out of his grip to look him in the eye, lip jutting out slightly.
âI already know you do. You do not need to keep saying it every time.â You pouted at his response. How else were you supposed to show your appreciation? You then grabbed his arm, which was surprisingly pliable, and placed his hand over your heart.
âThen let me know if you need anything from me. Anything at all. I have to pay you back eventually, you know.â Dottore looked as if he was enjoying himself.
âWhat do you propose? Iâll listen to your suggestions.â
âWell⌠I have kisses and cuddles as my expertise. I can cook and bake for you sometimes too⌠oh, but I can also try doing some of your paperwork! âŚWhat? Youâre not impressed? I guess I can try to do some more⌠unsavory tasks as well. The Fatui agents listen to what I have to say quite easily,â you continued to chatter as Dottoreâs fingers made their way from your cheek to your neck and then your collarbone, making you stammer at the sensation. âHey, youâre not even taking me seriously, are you?â Your husband only chuckled at your furrowed eyebrows and grumbling.
If anything, he would want you to repay him by letting him see the faces youâll make once youâre finally free of your illness.
âAnywayâŚâ you squeezed his hand with yours that still rested on your chest, âYou probably know this already, with that ever-calculating mind of yours, but you hold my heart in your hands. Iâll always be here with you.â It was a funny thing to think about, giving your heart to someone like him, in both a physical and intangible sense. Trusting him with your frail body, trusting him with your love, knowing he could squeeze it to a pulp if he wanted to. But he wouldnât.
He would treat your heart with the utmost care and precaution, not daring to risk even the slightest harm to it.
Dottore stared at you for a few moments while you held his gaze, resolute on making your point known. Wordlessly, he began to move closer to your soft lips, intent on making his response to your statement physical. He was so close, his nose brushing against yours, and your warm breath on his. He was about to finally satiate his desire when-
Something was scratching at the door. Loudly, too. The sudden noise made you jump back and turn your gaze to the door. The Harbinger had a bad feeling about this.
âDid you hear that?â
âNo.â
âYouâre just lying now!â With a huff, you pushed the blankets off, much to his displeasure, and made your way to the door, opening it. There was Foxttore, making strange noises that he tried his best to mask as cries.
The bliss Dottore felt a few moments ago had turned to immense annoyance immediately.
âOh, you poor baby! Did you have a nightmare or something?â You exclaimed before quickly scooping Foxttore into your arms and bringing him onto the bed. âItâs okay, youâre with us nowâŚâ You softly murmured, stroking it gently as you let it settle on your chest. Where Dottoreâs hands should be right now, cupping your soft skin instead of that damned creature.
Dottore swore he was going to throw that thing out once you were asleep.

â
It was only after a few joints that you could have ever thought this was a marginally good idea. You and Eddie were well baked by the time you stumbled out of his van in the alley, eyes bloodshot and a wide smile on your face. The rest of the tattoo shop was dark as Eddie snuck you in the back door, the two of you giggling like vandals as though it wasnât his shop. The keys jingled as he tucked them back into his pocket, nudging you toward his station.
He turned on the harsh fluorescent lamps surrounding the leather chair in the center of the small space. Paper screens separated it from the rest of the store, drawings and sketches stuck haphazardly all over the dividers and walls. âYouâve been drawing more,â you murmured, looking over the magnitude of new additions.
Eddie was already wiping down the chair and getting set up, looking over his shoulder at you with a hum of acknowledgment. You took in the way his shoulders filled out his worn Metallica shirt, his jacket hanging on a hook near the back door. There was something about his warm, chocolate-colored eyes that made your heart flutter every time he glanced at you.
âYou gonna pick something out or just stare at me?â he asked, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
You rolled your eyes, a little too stoned to come up with a response you considered to be clever enough. The wall of flash tattoos beckoned you closer. Eddie had given you countless tattoos at that point, insisting that dating a tattoo artist meant you had to get all your work done by him.
Anyone else would just be cheating.
It was how the two of you met five years ago: you came into the shop with a crumpled piece of paper with a book quote you loved scrawled onto it looking to get your very first tattoo. Eddie had stolen you from the guy who usually took the walk-in clients with a saccharine smile, ushering you to his little sectioned off area and charging you half what he normally would for a tattoo that size. You left with fresh ink and Eddieâs number, and the rest was history.
You squinted up at dozens of drawings crudely taped to the wall, admiring the smooth linework and the variety. There were a few from his Hellfire days, fleshed out Dungeons & Dragons monsters and sets of dice high up near the ceiling. The rest were the typical subjects: skulls and flowers and doodles of food and ghosts.
It was hard to decide, your arms folding over your chest as you worried your lower lip with your teeth. Normally it was a quick decision, youâd pick something off the wall or had an idea of your own and Eddie would be off to the races.
That time it took Eddie pulling out the battered notebook he insisted he did his best work in, his name scratched into the black cover. âHow about this one? Been workinâ on it, thought it would look good on you,â he murmured, flipping it open to a page in the middle.
The drawing was beautiful, detailed and delicate while still fitting with the rest of your tattoos. You realized that Eddie was listening when you told him you wanted to tattoo your sternum a few months ago, the pages littered in drawings that were suited to the smooth patch of skin over the bone. As always, he knew what you wanted more than you did.
âYeah, itâs perfect,â you finally said, tracing it with your fingertip.
âYeah? You sure?â Eddie asked, already rifling through drawers to put together a stencil.
You nodded, biting your lower lip as you sat back on the leather chair. âMatches everything else youâve put on me,â you said, making yourself comfortable as he went off to trace out a stencil.
You fidgeted with the well-worn Corroded Coffin shirt you were wearing, running your fingers over the torn-up hem and looking up at the ceiling tiles Eddie had painted black.
Meeting Eddie must have been the luckiest moment of your life. You never thought that youâd find someone, for some reason youâd been convinced that you were beyond what anyone wantedâdestined to be the old lady with the cats at the end of the street. But Eddie wanted you, he wanted you fiercely and with a passion that was almost startling sometimes.
âAlright, dove, shirt off,â Eddie said, startling you out of your thoughts. He rounded the corner with the stencil in hand, chocolatey eyes focused on you.
You complied, slipping the shirt off your head and tossing the fabric onto a nearby folding chair. The cold air in the shop made you shiver with just your pajama shorts on. Youâd forgone wearing a bra, the trip to the tattoo parlor borne from a spontaneous idea you had in the living room of your shared apartment.
âNever gonna get tired of that,â Eddie mumbled, staring at your chest as you settled back onto the cold leather. You rolled your eyes as your face started to heat up, part of you wanting to cover your chest with your hands.
Eddie stood between your legs, rolling over the silver tray that held the little containers of ink and gloves and his machine. Heâd already washed his hands, his fingers were cold as he shaved off the smattering of vellus hairs covering your skin. You squeaked when he wiped down your skin with an alcohol pad. His tongue poked out when he concentrated, his brow furrowed as he started to apply the stencil.
He pressed firm to get it to transfer, pulling the strip of paper away and reaching for a mirror for you to see it. It was weird to see yourself reflected back in the small hand mirror. You sat up to properly inspect how it looked between your tits, the U-shaped stretch marks between them catching and shining in the fluorescent light. The mirror tilted up, letting you see your own bloodshot, hazy gaze in the mirror. The blunts Eddie had rolled earlier were strong.
âLooks great, Eds,â you said, lips quirking into a grin as you settled back on the chair. Eddie hummed, letting the mirror drop with a clatter on his drawing space as he went to wash his hands again.
He came back ready, black latex gloves pulled over his hands and hair tied back in a low bun at the nape of his neck.
Bony hips knocked the insides of your thighs apart, your boyfriend curling down over you. âYou still feeling up to the rest of this?â he asked, a brow lifting until it disappeared under his frizzy bangs. You were silent for a minute, taking in the sincerity of his expression. âYou donât have to if youâre not feeling right, dove. I can just do the tattoo and we can go home.â
You furrowed your brow, shaking your head and blurting out protests a little too eagerly. It made him grin, boyish charm returning to his stubble-ridden face as though he wasnât a day out of high school.
âIf you feel uncomfortable, what do you say?â Eddie prompted softly, leaning forward to nudge his nose against your temple. He didnât touch you with his hands, keeping them sterile.
âYoo-hoo,â you mumbled a little sheepishly. Eddie picked it, the safe word always made you roll your eyes.
He hummed sweetly, pressing a kiss just above your eyebrow. âThatâs right,â Eddie said, the simple praise already making you feel warm.
You bit your lower lip as you looked up at him, watching him get the machine going and getting ink on the needles. It felt like your body was buzzing with anticipation, your knees squeezing at his waist.
âHelp me out, canât get my hands dirty,â Eddie said, twisting to fuss with something on the tray next to him. You didnât care about what he was grabbing, only reaching forward to loop your fingers in the waistband of the sweatpants he was wearing. On a normal day he wouldnât be caught dead here in sweatpants.
The original idea had come from you. Something in your stoned mind combined to make you ask Eddie if heâd ever thought about cockwarming while giving a tattoo. He looked at you like youâd grown a second head, but fifteen minutes later he wanted to bring your fantasy to life.
âBeen so fucking hard ever since you brought this up,â Eddie hissed through his teeth as you pulled his sweatpants down over his cock. It slapped up against his stomach, the tip flushed red and already leaking. You swallowed thickly, reaching out to wrap your hand around him.
The soft moan coming from Eddieâs pink lips was gratifying in more ways than you expected, satisfaction making you feel warm as you looked up at him through your lashes.
âYou want me to take my shorts off?â you asked quietly, tilting your head to one side. There was a thrill associated with being naked in the tattoo shop. Of course, it was the middle of the night as no one would have reason to be there, but it still felt scandalous all the same.
âYeah,â he said, the harsh buzzing of the tattoo machine starting as he touched the needle to the ink. The sound was familiar to you now, part of you associating it with Eddie. âItâll be complicated to do this if you leave them on.â
You rolled your eyes, letting go of him to strip yourself of your shorts. He cursed under his breath when he saw you completely naked on the chair. Brown eyes traveled over every curve and slope of your body, taking it all in with reverence as his tongue poked out to run over his bottom lip.
There was a brief pause, the two of you waiting for the other to do something. Eddie ended up taking charge.
âPlay with yourself for me,â he mumbled, staring down at your cunt. His gloved fingers twitched. âGet her nice and wet.â
Your face heated up at his request, bashfulness binding your chest together for a moment. It was impossible not to comply with Eddieâs request, your fingers finding their place between your legs. You touched yourself without fanfare, your fingertips settling on either side of your clit and rubbing in tight circles.
His gaze was locked on your cunt, chin pressed to his chest and lips parted. Normally you would be embarrassed under that kind of focus, but the awe shining in Eddieâs eyes made your anxiety slip away.
Your movements were practiced and smooth, sending electricity up and down your spine. It was easy to get turned on, your breaths eventually becoming pants and wetness building up around your fingers. His jaw was clenching, you knew he wanted to pull your fingers away and touch you himself.
He huffed, swallowing hard before directing his gaze to your eyes. âAlright, letâs do this,â he said, stepping in closer between your legs. âBefore I just decide to ruin my sterile environment and fuck you the right way.â
The idea was enticing, making you bite your lip as you considered. But you already came all the way down here and had the stencil placed and ink in the tattoo gun. And you wanted to make your fantasies happen.
You grabbed Eddieâs cock, your wet fingers smearing down the length of it. Of all the times you fucked, you almost never were the one to guide him inside of you. It was a bit clumsy as you dragged his tip through the soaked seam of your cunt, nudging against the swollen bud of your clit a few times.
Finally you hit your mark, Eddieâs deep moan filling the air as he slotted himself inside of you with a strong thrust. The patch of dark, soft curls at his base brushed against your already sensitive clit. The stretch made you see stars. Your head rolled back against the leather chair, a breathy whine pulling from you as he rubbed against every gummy ridge and gooey spot inside of you.
âEddie,â you whimpered, brows pulling together as you looked up at him. He seemed to be going through a similar sense of euphoria, his long lashes fluttering against his cheekbones as he breathed into the feeling.
His eyes open, pupils expanding like ink in water as he curled over you, readying the tattoo machine over your chest. He blinked hard, rutting softly against you once⌠twice⌠before steadying. The concentration was incredible to witness, his expression hardening and jaw flexing again.
âYou ready, dove?â he asked, briefly glancing up at you before staring at the patch of stenciled skin like he could burn a tattoo into it with just his eyes.
âYeah,â you breathed, feeling like your entire body was made up of TV static as you willed yourself to relax on the chair.
He nodded, the familiar buzz of the tattoo gun starting again. It pressed to your skin like fire, the vibration carrying from the gun all the way down into the flat bone of your sternum. You held your breath without meaning to, toes curling.
Eddie groaned, a smile finding its way onto his face. âYouâre squeezing so fucking tight around me,â he said, voice a bit raspier than normal.
You made a conscious effort to relax, staring up at the ceiling and tapping the tips of your fingers along the sides of the chair. âSorry,â you murmured, a giggle echoing from you as Eddie resumed the line he was tattooing.
Each stab of the needles kept your body alight, teetering you on the edge of pain and pleasure. âYou're such a masochist.â
You smiled, your gaze hazy and your pussy fluttering a bit as you took shallow breaths. âI know, itâs gonna be a long night.â

Lust and Love
Eddie Munson x Reader
Description: Eddie is dating the girl he's been pinning over for years- Chrissy Cunningham. What happens when a new girl enters his life?
Word Count: 3k
--------
Chrissy and Eddie have been dating for a good few months now and they both truly are happy. Eddie had been crushing on her since their middle school talent show and was insanely surprised when she came to him to buy drugs. The Chrissy Cunningham High buying drugs from him? He couldnât believe it.Â
Not long after their first deal, Chrissy started to realize that she really enjoyed Eddieâs company. One thing led to another and soon enough the freak of Hawkins High was dating the queen of Hawkins High.
Though they were dating and loved spending time together they still always made sure to have time for their friends. Hence why Eddie still sits at the hellfire table for lunch (also totally not because the majority of the popular kids hate him).Â
One day during lunch as Eddie is sitting at the front of the table, munching on his pretzels, Dustin, Lucas, and Mike join him. âHey, fellas.â Eddie says as the boys start eating their unpleasantly looking school lunch. They talk about DND for a good minute until Dustin turns around mid-conversation when he notices Y/N sit down at the table next to theirs.
âHey, Y/N!â
âHey there, Dustin.â Y/N replies as she takes off her headphones and gives him a friendly smile. Mike and Lucas then notice her as well and say their hellos. Eddie looks back and forth between the boys and this girl, Y/N. He takes in her appearance and notices the eyeliner, dark denim jeans, and the loosely hung Black Sabbath t-shirt. How the hell did these boys know this girl and why has he never seen her around?
She turns back to her own table and puts her headphones back on. He can briefly hear Judas Priest coming through them before being interrupted by Gareth sharing some more DND ideas.
âÂ
After school he walks Chrissy to her cheer practice before heading over to the drama room to set up for the upcoming hellfire session tonight. In there he spots Dustin who is also usually there sometimes to help Eddie set up. âHey, man.â Eddie greets. âHey, Eddie. I already set up everyoneâs character sheets.â âThanks, Henderson.â
As Eddie and Dustin continue to set up, the question from earlier still lingers on Eddieâs mind. Who was that girl? âMight as well askâ, he thinks to himself.
âHenderson, who was that girl you guys were saying hi to at lunch?â
âOh, Y/N? Weâve known her for a few years now. Sheâs friends with Jonathan Byers so we met her by association. Sheâs really cool though. Iâm surprised you guys have never met considering you have a lot in common. But why do you ask?â Dustin says as he pulls out some dice.
âWas just curious. Never seen her around.â
âYeah, she can be more on the quiet and loner side, but sheâs great when you get to know her.â
â
Hellfire went pretty good as Eddie had been playing that campaign for weeks now. The boys and Erica have already left by now, but he stayed back to clean up. As heâs putting away their chairs he hears the drama room doors open. In walks her. Y/N.
âOh, hi! Sorry, didnât know you guys were doing hellfire today. Iâm just setting some things up for the talent show this weekend.â She says. Thatâs when Eddie notices her carrying two guitars and an amp. âDonât worry, youâre all good. Just cleaning up. You want some help with that?â âPlease,â she says with a breathy laugh, âcarrying these all at once is not easy.â âOh, trust me I know. I play in a band.â He says as he walks over to take the amp out of her arm.
They walk to the stage and as Eddie plugs in the amp Y/N sets up the guitars. Wanting to break the silence, Y/N asks, âSo, youâre in a band. What do you play?â âGuitar. I also help write some of our songs.â Y/N looks up at him with a smile and says, âNo way! I also play guitar and write songs. Though, itâs just for fun. Iâm not in a band or anything.â Eddie looks shocked at this. Heâs never met a girl thatâs been into music like this, not to mention music that he likes. âThatâs sick! Think I could hear one of your songs one day?â âOnly if I get to hear one of yours.â
Continuing their conversation, theyâre eventually interrupted when the drama doors open once again, this time revealing Chrissy. âHey, babe!â Chrissy cheers and she walks over to give Eddie a hug. âHey, Chris. How was practice?â Y/N watches as the obvious couple interact, slightly disappointed in the fact that he has a girlfriend. But Y/N isnât the one to overstep boundaries and disrespect someoneâs relationship, so she pushes those thoughts to the back of her mind.Â
âBye, Eddie, it was nice meeting you.â Y/N says with a smile as she starts to leave.Â
âYou too, Y/N.â
â
It's been a few weeks since the first interaction, but over those few weeks the two have created a friendship. They hang out every now and then, Eddie sharing his time between Y/N, Chrissy, and his hellfire friends.
This day in particular, Y/N and Eddie finally decided to act upon the deal they made when they first met, which was to hear each other's music. Eddie invited her over, but Y/N declined. She thought itâd be rude to hang out one on one with a man who is in a relationship inside his own home. Eddie understood where she was coming from, but assured her Chrissy knew. Still, she stuck to her word and the two agreed to meet up in the drama room after school instead.
âSo, you wanna go first?â Y/N asks as the both of them sit criss cross on the stage floor, both holding guitars in their lap. âWhy not.â Eddie replies as he takes his guitar pick off his neck and starts strumming. He opted to playing a more simple rock song of his rather than metal as he thought itâd be way too extra. When it came down to Y/Nâs turn, she stuck to more of one of her indie-rock songs.Â
âYouâre better than I thought youâd be.â Eddie says with a playful grin.
 âSame for you, Munson.âÂ
âIâd like to state for the record, that was an easy song I played. Iâm usually ten times more metal.â He says with a slight smirk, âYou should really come watch me and my band play some time. We perform at the Hideout on Tuesdays. Maybe you could even perform one of your songs.â
âIâd love to watch you guys play, but as for me performing, hard pass. Iâd rather stick to putting on a show for my stuffed animals rather than real people.â Y/N replies with a smile and small laugh.
âOh, come on! Iâll be there to cheer you on. I bet your stuffed animals canât do that.â
Y/N let out a dramatic playful gasp and jokingly says, âWhat?! Peter the pig always makes sure to give me a round-of-applause.â The two share a laugh and Eddie replies, âFine. You can stick to your stuffed animal crowd. As for me, I can pick you up around seven after I pick up Chrissy, if thatâs fine with you?â
âSounds perfect.â
â
Tuesday comes around and Y/N is patiently waiting on her couch for Eddie. She eventually hears loud heavy rock music coming from outside and takes that as her cue to grab her things, not forgetting her guitar. Even though she said she didn't want to perform, she decided she wanted to surprise Eddie tonight by performing a new song of hers.
She runs outside and slides open the van door and greets Eddie and Chrissy as she goes to sit in the back. Soon enough theyâre there and Eddie is parking the van. âIâm just gonna go help the boys set up. Are you guys good with waiting inside for a few minutes?â Eddie asks as they all start getting out of the van. âYeah, thatâs fine, Eds.â Chrissy replies back with a smile. Y/N had a few interactions with Chrissy since becoming friends with Eddie and from what she can tell, sheâs the sweetest girl Y/N ever met. Eddie is a real lucky man, she must say.
As Y/N and Chrissy start walking inside, Chrissy notices the guitar case. âOh, youâre playing too?!â Chrissy cheerfully asks. âYeah, but donât tell Eddie. Was gonna surprise him.â Y/N happily replies back, hoping that that didnât upset Chrissy. Thankfully, Chrissy saw no problem with it and the two headed inside.
Chrissy takes a seat at one of the tables while Y/N places her guitar case next to the stage. They patiently wait and talk for a little bit as they wait for Eddieâs band. Soon enough, they hear the name âCorroded Coffinâ being announced on stage.
You watch as Eddie pours his heart and soul into his performance as his passion for guitar shines through. Chrissy wishes she could watch as deeply as you are, but she canât help but pay attention to how whenever Eddie looks down at their table, his eyes travel to Y/N.Â
â
The band finished up their last song and then walked off stage. As Eddie is putting his guitar back in his case, he hears the bar owner announce, âWe have one more performance tonight! Please welcome, Y/N!â. Eddie perks up at this and immediately his attention is on the stage. Chrissy sees this. She nervously plays with the ribbon in her hair and looks at how Eddieâs eyes never left you as you walk onto the stage with your guitar.
Chrissy knows Eddie loves her, no doubt about it, but seeing the way Y/N and Eddie have bonded over the past few weeks, she knew his love for her was slowly decaying. They had so much in common, she should have seen it coming sooner. And Chrissy being the sweet girl that she is, couldnât bring herself to be mad at it. Sheâs had her fair experiences with love and is well aware that you canât choose who you fall for.Â
She brings her focus back to the stage as Y/N starts playing guitar and eventually singing her most recent lyrics. âThey even have similar writing stylesâ, Chrissy thinks to herself. She sighs and looks down at her hands. She loves Eddie, but this isnât right. Chrissy isnât the girl he wants anymore. Those years he spent pinning over her have gone to waste, which hurts Chrissy to admit.
She looked over at Eddie and thatâs all it took for her to accept what was going to have to happen. His eyes were so full of admiration, lust, and love. The same way he used to look at her.Â
Y/N walks off stage and Eddie immediately runs to her and gives her a hug so big heâs picking her off the ground. Y/N is first to break it as she knows Chrissy is right behind them. Chrissy notices this and sadly smiles to herself. She canât even blame Y/N. She could tell how Y/N always made sure to respect their relationship and set boundaries. Y/N always made sure Eddie was spending more time with Chrissy than he was with her, she always made sure Eddie still walked Chrissy to practice after school even when he would offer to walk Y/N to her car, and she always made sure Eddie never stopped showing his love to Chrissy.Â
Chrissy feels a tear slide down her face but quickly wipes it when the two of them start making their way over.Â
âYou guys were great!â, Chrissy cheers.Â
âThank you.â Both Eddie and Y/N say, almost in sync.
They finish up their night at the hideout with some fries and drinks then eventually head back out to Eddieâs van. Y/N is first to be dropped off which leaves the couple alone.
 âEddie?â, Chrissy says sadly.Â
âYeah, Chris?â Eddie replies as he head bops to the music playing on the car radio.
âWe need to talk.â
â
Eddie pulls up to Chrissy's house and stops the van in her driveway. âSo, what did you want to talk about?â He asks.
 âI think we should break up.âÂ
Eddie sits in shock for a few moments before turning to face Chrissy and asks why. âEddie, you know I love you and I know you have love for me. But youâre no longer in love with me.â, Chrissy says with watery eyes.
âWoah, woah, woah. What makes you think that, Chris?â Eddie says as he reaches for Chrissyâs hand, only for her to pull it away. âDonât pretend like you donât know, Eds. You like her, donât you?â
At her words, Eddie looks down, refusing to make eye contact. His silence confirms Chrissyâs question.Â
âItâs okay, Eddie.â âNo, itâs not. It wasnât supposed to go this way.â Eddieâs eyes start to gather tears as he still has yet to look up at Chrissy. âWhat do you mean?â Chrissy asks with furrowed eyebrows. âI mean,â he sighs before continuing, âIâve had a crush on you for as long as I can remember. Never once have I ever felt that way towards another girl, so when me and you got together, I was the happiest man in the world. I truly started to believe that opposites do attract,â He finally looks up at Chrissy as he says, âbut I think thatâs only because I thought there was no other girl out there that was like me. But then I met Y/N.â Chrissy looks at him with sad eyes, but a soft smile. Eddie returns a sad smile back. âI really am sorry, Chris. This isnât how I meant for things to go. But I do want you to know I truly was happy with you and I enjoyed our time together.â âItâs okay, Eddie. And me too. I donât want to trap you in a relationship that you donât want to be in.â
They sit in awkward, yet somewhat comforting silence for a moment before Chrissy asks one last question, âWhen did you know you fell for her?â âToday, actually. At the hideout.â This somewhat shocked Chrissy as she would've thought itâd be way earlier, though she lets Eddie continue, âSure, these past few weeks my crush for her did start to develop, but it felt wrong considering Iâm with- or well, I was with you, so I pushed the thought of being with her to the back of my mind. But seeing her today on that stage, I couldnât hide it from myself anymore.â Eddie says, looking at his lap, somewhat disappointed at himself. He had been chasing Chrissy for years, and once he finally got the girl his heart decides to do a whole u-turn on him.
âAgain, Chrissy, I really am sorry.âÂ
âItâs okay, Eddie. Itâs okay. Go get her.â Chrissy says with a happier smile this time. Even though the smile was definitely forced, Eddie smiled back and gave Chrissy one last hug as a goodbye.
Eddie pulls out of Chrissyâs driveway and heads straight for Y/Nâs house.
â
He climbs to her bedroom window and knocks. Y/N opens her curtains, not surprised to see Eddie as he surprised her with a similar visit a week ago for a quick smoke sesh. She opens the window and welcomes him in.Â
âHey, Y/N.â He pants out, slightly out of breath from climbing through your window.
âWhatâs up, Eddie?â Y/N asks. She notices Eddie is fidgeting with the rings on his fingers, a habit of his she recently noticed.Â
âI wanted to talk to you about something. About us.â He says, head down as he canât bring himself to make eye contact. He notices the shift in Y/Nâs stance, sensing that she probably has an idea of what heâs about to say.Â
âI like you.â
 She sighs before saying, âEddie-âÂ
âI know,â Eddie cuts her off, âI know, I know, me and Chrissy. But we broke up.â Y/N looks up at him with shocked eyes and says, âWhat?! Why would you dump her for me?â Eddie grabs both of Y/Nâs hands into his and looks her in the eye as he says, âShe dumped me, Y/N.â Y/N takes her hands from his and puts them in her hair, slightly panicking. âNo, no, no, no, I feel like a homewrecker, Eddie. This is wrong.â âI know it is, but I canât control my feelings, Y/N.âÂ
He sits on the edge of her bed. She takes a seat next to him and deeply sighs. âI donât even know what to say, Eddie.â He looks down at her and puts her hand in his once again. âJust say how you feel. If you donât feel the same way, itâs fine. I can get up and leave and pretend this conversation didnât even happen.â Y/N sighs once again as she responds, âEddie, I like you too. But this feels so wrong.â
Eddieâs heart lightens at her confession. He smiles to himself before saying, âItâs all up to you, love. If it makes you feel any better, this was all Chrissyâs idea. I donât want you to think she hates you for taking me away from her. None of this is your fault, okay?â He places a finger under her chin and lifts her face up to meet him eye to eye. He can tell how her eyes are full of so many different emotions right now, but he gives her a reassuring look.
âAs much as I hate to admit it, I want to be with you, Eddie.â
âThatâs all you had to say, sweetheart.â He replies with a smile, slowly bringing her face to his and letting their lips connect.
Y/N feels the guilt seep into her gut as she kisses Eddie, but canât bring herself to stop. She had been crushing on this boy the moment she laid eyes on him. Sitting at the table next to his was totally not on purpose. She of course feels for Chrissy, but when Eddie and Y/N walked into school the next day hand in hand, she saw Chrissy give her a genuine smile and a thumbs up, and all of a sudden the guilt slowly started to disappear.Â

Image credit "Fishing" By yonaz
So in last night's 3.5 edition D&D game, my players had a chance to do some ice fishing and one player called out for one of my ad hoc mini-games (I do this a lot haha). I wanted something simple, a combo of character skill and some luck, and so in short order ended up with this very quick mini-game you can easily employ.
:
Quick Disclaimer: These fishing mini-game mechanics may not be entirely original and could resemble systems from other games I just can't recall. For my part, I'm posting this FOR sharing. Feel free to use, adapt, or modify them in your own games as you see fit. No ownership or exclusivity is claimed over this ideaâenjoy and share as you wish!
:
Fishing Mini-Game (D&D 3.5 Edition)
Step 1: Build the Fishing Pool
The player rolls a number of d6 equal to their relevant skill modifier (Survival or Profession (Fisher)).
Example: A character with a +10 in Survival rolls 10d6 and sets these dice aside as their "Fishing Pool".
Fishing Pool Example Roll: 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6.
Step 2: Perform the Fishing Check
The player then rolls 5d6 as their "Fishing Check" for one hour of fishing.
Example Roll: 1, 2, 4, 4, 6.
Step 3: Match for Combos
The player now attempts to match the dice results from their Fishing Pool with their Fishing Check results to form combos. The number of dice used in the combo determines the size of the fish:
Small Fish: Match 2 dice from the Fishing Pool with the Fishing Check.
Medium Fish: Match 3 dice from the Fishing Pool with the Fishing Check.
Large Fish: Match 5 dice from the Fishing Pool with the Fishing Check.
Example Combo:
If the player's Fishing Pool has dice showing 1, 2, 4, 4, and 6, they could match all 5 dice with their Fishing Check, catching a Large Fish.
Step 4: Fish Weight and Rations
Once the fish is caught, the total weight of the edible parts of the fish is determined by summing the values of the dice used in the combo.
Example: For a Large Fish (1, 2, 4, 4, 6), the total weight is 1+2+4+4+6 = 17 kg.
To calculate the number of rations provided by the fish:
1 kg = 2,000 calories (or half a ration).
Rations Formula: Divide the total weight of the fish by 2.
Example: 17 kg / 2 = 8.5 kg or 8 rations (we round down).
Step 5: Continue or Stop
After catching a fish, remove the dice used from the Fishing Pool.
If the player still has at least 2 dice left in their Fishing Pool, they can attempt to catch another fish using the same Fishing Check results. Otherwise, they are done for that hour.
That's all that we did and they loved it!
But since then we've considered how future games or others might expand on it with special roll combos, items, locations, setting conditions, Aid Other, etc. So here are some...
Optional Add-Ons and Considerations
Multiple Attempts Per Hour:
If the player rolls exceptionally well on their Fishing Pool, they may be able to attempt fishing multiple times in an hour. To keep this simple, I'd say if they are able to clear the first Pool entirely, they get a brand new roll, a whole new Pool as if starting fishing over, but they keep their previous catches.
Modifiers and Conditions:
You could introduce conditions that affect the Fishing Pool or Fishing Check rolls:
Good Fishing Spot: +1d6 to the Fishing Pool.
Bad Weather/Overfished Area: -1d6 (or more) to the Fishing Pool or disadvantage (see 5e, we use this idea quite a bit even in our 3.5e games) on Fishing Check rolls.
Magic/Luck Items: Grant rerolls or bonus dice to the Fishing Pool or allow rerolls of the Fishing Check.
Special Fish Combos:
Occasionally, you could allow rare or magical fish (or larger species) that provide bonuses or other effects; perhaps these are possible if the combos use specific die results:
Giant Fish: Requires a match of dice with identical values, but double the weight result (ex: a medium fish that used 5,5,5 would be a Giant of its type, and grant 15x2 or 30 kg of edible parts!).
Magical Fish: Grants temporary bonuses, like extra HP or special buffs, when consumed. (ex. A combo of sequential rising values, like 1,2,3,4,5, would grant a Magical Large fish)
Fishing Tools and Bait:
Fishing equipment or bait could modify the rolls:
Better Rods/Lines: Allow rerolls or add extra dice to the Fishing Pool.
Special Bait/Lures: Increases chances of catching better or more fish (ex. set any one die result to 6; or allow player to select the value of any one die, etc.).
Aid Other
Another player can choose to assist Player A if they are proficient in the same associated skill (Survival or Profession (Fisher), etc based on your setting):
Player B (helper) rolls for the associated skill.
If the result of their skill check (rolled like any other skill check) is 10-19, Player A gains 1 extra die in their fishing Pool.
If the result of their skill check is 20 or higher, Player A gains 2 extra dice in their fishing Pool.
Player A can then use these extra dice to help form better combos when matching against their Fishing Check.
Let me know if you use this mini-game in your D&D sessions, or revamp it for the tabletop rpg/edition you play!
I'd love to hear your stories of the biggest catch, or lamenting that one LEGENDARY CATCH that got away!

new recruit âËâš - charles leclerc
summary: the age-old tradition of Top Gun pilots spending the night before a mission at the local bar is interrupted by a new, boyishly charming, face w/c: 1.8k
taglist: @zowifi @musicallisto
a/n: y'all knew it was coming .. as soon as he dropped these pics i knew what i had to do (consider this a semi-ode to my top gun phase when maverick first came out)
The Hard Deck Bar never changes, and neither do its visitors. It's a fact you rely on comfortably whenever you get the call to return to the beachside town you've learned to call home after years of missions there. You push through the heavy wooden doors, sighing happily as you're welcomed by the sound of laughter and music as the evening comes alive - all against the backdrop of the golden sunset.
"Dice, is that you?" You whip your head around at the sound of your call sign - a gift to you from your lieutenant, an acknowledgement of your risky tendencies in the air. You break into a warm smile as you make eye contact with Phoenix - one of the only other female pilots on the team to whom you've grown close.
"You look well," you reply as you walk over to where she and several others stand.
Surrounding the pool table you're greeted with several familiar faces, some newer than others but all smiling regardless. You had gotten to know the other Top Gun pilots fairly well as one of the most experienced amongst the group, and the one most often called back for missions. It had come to the point where whenever it came time to take part in the old tradition of hanging out at the bar before your first mission briefing, it felt more like a family reunion than a group of coworkers. The only thing that set you all apart from the general public was the khaki uniforms you donned, decorated with multi-coloured patches celebrating your achievements.
"Did you hear there's a new recruit?" Hangman asked, the question clearly directed to you, as he potted a pool ball.
"Oh yeah, the admiral did mention it to me when he called me in," you replied before sipping your drink.
"Reckon they'll be any good?"
"Hope so, I heard this mission's one of the hardest we'll be on," Rooster scoffed from the other side of the table.
"Agreed, especially since they're going to be my co-pilot," you sighed.
"Sounds like Chief had enough of your risky solo missions," Phoenix laughed as she took her turn to play.
You could only smile shyly as she did, finishing the last of your drink before letting your eyes scan through the rest of the bar. Music from the jukebox floated through the air, joined by the loud laughter of the bar's regulars as they drunkenly joked raucously. It was nothing out of the ordinary and worked wonders in calming the nerves you inevitably felt brewing about the responsibilities you'd have to step up to tomorrow.
The bell above the doors tinkles again, announcing the arrival of yet another customer, but this one in particular catches your eye. Not because of his messy brown hair or the boyish air surrounding him - but because you've never seen him here before. You lean over to elbow Phoenix before nodding in his direction, and she turns to look at him too.
"Newbie?" she asks, and you nod before hopping off of the stool you've perched yourself on and waltzing over to where he's leaning against the bar.
You watch as his round eyes scan the menu intently, eyelashes batting as he squints to try and get a better look - it's almost endearing how lost he looks. Shooting the bartender Penny a sly smile, alerting her immediately of your plans, you take the seat next to where he's standing.
"You alright there?" you ask, and he turns to you with a shocked expression.
"Is it that obvious I'm struggling?" You pick up on his accent right away, though it takes you a little longer to locate it. Regardless, you're drawn in almost immediately by the embarrassed smile that spreads across his features.
"Just order your usual, Penny makes everything taste amazing anyway," you reassure him. He nods obediently, leaning over and mumbling his order. "I'm guessing you don't come here a lot?"
"Yeah, first time actually," his hand comes up to rub the back of his neck and you take note of the multiple string bracelets decorating it. What you don't notice though is the way his eyes scan over you, or more specifically, your uniform.
"Are you a soldier?"
"Close, army pilot." You tap the crest on your shirt.
"You must be good then," he smiles, pointing to your patches and it hits you that he might just be flirting with you.
"I am actually, thank you for picking up on that," you shoot back smugly, "how about you, what do you do?"
"Oh me, I'm just trying out some new things, travelling, flying lots." He nods, though the smirk toying at his lips tells you he's not telling the whole truth. You don't care enough to press on though, as you shift on your stool. You don't care enough to press on though, and at that moment his drink order slides across the bar to him.
"You haven't told me your name yet," he's the first to break the silence this time, before taking a sip of his drink. He lets out a surprised hum as if to tell you that you were right about Penny's bartending skills.
"Everyone around here calls me Dice," you reply, gesturing around to the entirety of the room. This piques his interest.
"That's an interesting name."
"Well it's not my real name it's my call sign, it's a pilot thing," you explain and he nods thoughtfully, "it's because I tend to take a lot of risks while on missions."
"Interesting," he murmurs, "but these risks must work out for you." He points to your patches again and you laugh softly.
"I guess you could say so. What about your name?"
He pauses for a bit, almost as if he's forgotten his own name. "Predistinato," he finally says.
"Predi- wh- sorry could you say that again?"
"Predistinato," he repeats, laughing a little this time.
"Is that French or something?"
"Almost, it's Italian," he explains and all you can do is nod, unaware that you're silently mouthing it back to yourself. It certainly isn't a name you'll forget any time soon.
"Well, Mr. P," you say, slipping off your stool and dusting off your hands, "it was nice meeting you and helping you out with your order.""
You're about to give up on your plan before you hear him call out to you just as you're turning around.
"Hold on, Dice," he hesitates before finishing, "how about taking another risk?"
You spin back around and the expression on his face tells you he isn't finding this any less cringey than you are. "Pardon?"
"Do you think I could get your number?"
A cold smile spreads across your face as you skip back over to the bar and lean over to catch Penny's eye. As you do she walks over to the corner of the bar the two of you are seated in, reaching up and ringing the large bell hanging above it. Immediately, the entire bar erupts into a loud commotion of roars and whistles, with people lifting up their cups towards the man sitting across from you.
You can't help but laugh upon seeing his confused expression and all you do is point to the sign hanging between two beer taps. Disrespect a lady, the navy, or put your cell phone on my bar - you buy a round.
"Woah, disrespect? That's harsh," he smiles sheepishly, but you only shrug.
"Rules are rules."
"A round, for everyone?"
"Good luck, and see you around," you nod, patting him on the shoulder with a smug expression before turning to rejoin your friends at the pool table.
"Attention on deck!"
The heavy sound of several chairs scraping the floor in unison is the only thing you hear as you and the rest of the pilots stand at attention. Standing as still as you can, you watch as Admiral Bates marches to the podium at the front of the hangar.
"Good morning, and welcome to your special training detachment." His expression is stern and you watch as his eyes scan the rows of tables. "Be seated."
"Everyone here is a Top Gun graduate, I'm sure you know each other well enough to know that's true. You may consider yourself elite, the best, but that stops now. In here, you will all be treated like equals and you must prove your excellence to make the cut."
The air is tense and no one dares to look at each other as he talks.
"Today we begin with the introduction of a new face however, I'd like you all to welcome the newest addition to this mission." The admiral gestures towards the back of the room and several heads turn to the figure standing at the back of the room, who begins walking between the aisle of tables. His steps are heavy, confident, and almost eager.
"Despite being newer, he has proved his proficiency in every aspect required of this mission and so I warn you not to underestimate him."
The figure passes your table and you physically feel your heart drop to your stomach when he does. He's facing away from you, and he looks completely different when sporting the pilot uniform instead of casual clothes - but you're sure you'd recognise that messy hair anywhere, even though it's clear he's tried his best to comb it down.
"Please welcome Charles Leclerc. Call sign: Il Predistinato."
Of course, just your luck.
"Good morning," from the front of the room and under the bright morning light he looks different, but the boyish charm he seemed surrounded by last night still lingers in the way he smiles.
"Charles, why don't you take a seat next to Dice in the front row, you'll be co-piloting with her for now." Your eyes widen as the attention is suddenly turned to you, and scoot uncomfortably in your seat as he nears you.
"You look well" he murmurs, just loud enough for you to hear as he takes the seat next to you. You let out a low chuckle, not knowing what else to do other than nod a little awkwardly.
The admiral goes on talking, briefing you all on the aims of the mission, but despite your best efforts to focus you can't seem to. Not with the boy sitting next to you, the way he leans forward on the desk to listen attentively the same way he had last night at the bar, the way his deep brown hair falls onto his face as he does.
"Sorry about last night," you hear yourself whisper to him as you lean in, though he doesn't seem to be holding any grudges.
"No need to apologise," he begins, and you sit back with relief. "But next time, maybe you can pay for my drinks?"
You sigh in exasperation, as he shoots you a wink before turning back to the lesson. You could only pray he flew as smoothly as he spoke.

You Got A Star!
master list
dark master list
No Powers AU (Female Reader X Yelena Belova)
Summary: You and your roommate, Yelena Belova, invite some friends over for Mario Party; however, Yelena has no idea about your feelings for her.
Word Count: 4K
Content: Feelings, Crushes, Mario Party, Friendship, Comfort/Hurt
Your roommate, Yelena Belova, was one of a kind.
Truly, you had never meant anyone like her. From the way she talked to how she made babies cry with one look. Or how the one thing she knew how to cook was Mac and Cheese.
You knew there would never be anyone else like her.
Which is maybe why you started to feel different around here... what began as two strangers needing a place to live slowly morphed into something else.
At least for you.
Yelena's asexual identification didn't make it impossible for her to find someone she could share a life with. It was just that you had never seen her with anyone since knowing her. So, IF Yelena were attracted to you, you would have no idea.
Regardless, your tiny crush was making itself known tonight as you waited for a few friends to come over. It was Saturday night, and after a shit week at work, you, Yelena, and your friends decided to have an impromptu game night.
"So what is it?" Yelena asked you again as you set an assortment of snacks on the hardwood coffee table. "It's called Mario Party. Each person chooses a character, and then you hit dice, play minigames, get coins, and you have to purchase stars." You looked up from the candies and savory snacks to a confused-looking blonde. "Whoever has the most wins." You said.
"Is it easy?" She asked after staring at you. You shrugged. "It can be a little challenging sometimes." Yelena hummed. "So it's not like that animal island game?" She asked with her eyes precious and wide.
A fluttering was happening in your stomach.
You cleared your throat with a smile. "No, Lena, it's not like Animal Crossing." Yelena pouted. She loved Animal Crossing no matter how much she hated Tom Crook, as she called him. Yelena opened her mouth to ask if the two of you could practice a round of this Mario Party, but a knock on the apartment door followed by its slowly opening stopped her.
"I got pizza!" Kate Bishop yelled as she entered through the small hallway. You walked past Yelena after your eyes fell to her lips without noticing. She was too busy looking at the game icon on the switch home screen. "You didn't bring Lucky?" You asked as you took the pizza boxes from your childhood friend.
Kate shook her head. "Figured it might get hectic." You nodded to her reasoning. Kate had followed you into the kitchen as you set the pizzas down. Pulling out some plates and dipping sauces.
Ranch and hot sauce for you and Yelena.
You turned around to find your friend eyeing Yelena. You looked between the two and raised an eyebrow to yourself.
"So..." You started pulling Kate's attention to you. You could see Yelena grab her special Joy-Con from the corner of your eye.
It was just the plain blue one, but she loved it.
Yelena clicked on the game as she pulled up a Let's Play on her phone of the game. You hide a laugh.
"How's your mom and her new man." Kate rolled her eyes. "He's so annoying, and he's doing things where he wants us to be like a family. It's just weird..." She shook her body as if she had a cold chill. "Plus, he has one of those old man smiles that could be threatening when all he's doing is asking for ice cream." Her voice was unhappy. She did not like this Jack guy at all.
"Y/n!" Yelena called out from the couch, making you and Kate leave the kitchen. "Yes?" You smiled and kept your voice level as you approached Yelena's side. Standing as she sat.
Yelena lifted her eyes to you before doing a double take at Kate. "Kate Bishop!? When did you get here?" Kate smiled awkwardly before licking her lips and speaking. "About five minutes ago." Yelena tilted her head. "Hmm. I did not know. You're sometimes too quiet." Kate did what she did best and chuckled lightly with a nervous laugh. "Yeah, like a mouse."
Yelena nodded before looking back at you and her phone. "Who is this?" She pointed to a Mario Party character on her tiny screen. "Oh, that's Wario." You replied. Yelena looked at you with all the seriousness in her voice. "Can I play as them?"
You nodded. "If you want."
"I want to." With one look into her eyes, you would go through hell to make sure she played as that little idiot.
"Okay, then you will." You smiled, and her face morphed into pure happiness. Like a puppy in the sun. "He reminds me of that fat short guy from that one show with the horrible people." She said as her attention moved back to the phone. You thought for a few seconds. "Are you talking about Danny Devito?!" Yelena smiled wide and bright. "Yeah, from the Sunny show!"
You couldn't help but laugh.
"That's a great character, Yelena!" Kate spoke up from behind you before not so subtly moving past you to sit next to Yelena on the couch. Her gaze was on Yelena's phone as well.
Were her cheeks pink?
"That character is like best friends with my character," Kate said, raising Yelena's eyebrows. "Really?!" You couldn't recall a time when Kate played as Walugi, but her favorite color was purple, so it probably happened at some point, and you just didn't remember.
Seconds later, a knock came to the door before YOU could explain how different Wario's dice block was from the other characters.
"Wanda! Pietro! Nice of you to join!" The twins were too busy bickering with one another to return your niceties. But Wanda did make sure to place the wine bottle in your arms.
"Y/n, did we have to knock, or could we have just let ourselves in?!" Pietro turned and looked at you with intensity. Wanda was doing the same. "Uhhh..." You looked between the siblings. "You could have just come in." You said with caution. "See!" Pietro threw his arms up while Wanda rolled her eyes. "But that's not how Mama raised us!" Wanda yelled as the two of them stormed into the kitchen.
Pietro had his nose leading him to the pizza. Wanda followed to grab glasses for the wine.
"But it's like the sitcoms you love so much. We're the friends that can come right into the apartment and join the shenanigans!"
Wanda groaned because her brother was right, and she hated it.
"Shut up!" Wanda replied before joining you in the living room, taking the wine from your hand. "Sorry. I need this NOW."
Wanda would be two and a half glasses in by the end of the night. All because of her lovely, annoying brother.
"Hey, Wanda! Hi Pietro!" Kate waved to the twins, who sent smiles and waves back. Yelena looked up and to them and gave them a nod. "Okay, so now if you land on a red monster face, you get in trouble?" Yelena asked Kate. Kate nodded and briefly explained who Boswer was.
Your eyes caught Yelena's briefly when she glanced your way. You could've sworn you saw her lip twitch upwards before she looked back to Kate.
"Here, Kate, it'll be easier to explain some of the mini-games once we're actually in the game." Kate looked up to you and your regent words sheepishly. She nodded after fumbling with her words. "Okay."
A moment later, when Kate left to grab the three of you slices of pizza, you took her spot next to Yelena. "I'll help you out if you need it." You said, which Yelena appreciated greatly but shook her head. "I shall win this game on my own!"
Your lips curled upwards with a laugh. "Oh, is that right, Lena!?" Yelena smirked and took a big sip of the wine Wanda dropped off. "Prepare to lose Y/n Y/l/n."
You took a sip of your wine as well. "We'll see Lena. We'll see."
About fifteen minutes later, You, Yelena, Kate, and Wanda were ready to start the night's first game. The disappointed look of Kate having to sit in her own chair was missed by you.
"How come there's five of us for a four-person game!" Pietro whined as you let Wanda select the level. "I asked Sam to come by, but he's busy with his test and all that." You said while waving your hand. Your friend Sam Wilson was training to become a pilot. Pietro huffed. "Fine."
"Also you fairly lost at rock papart scissors so sorry dude." You added on like rubbing salt in the wound. Wanda turned around and stuck her tongue out to her brother. Pietro angrily bit into his third slice of pizza and flipped her off.
The game was underway, and the order was set. Kate went first, followed by you and then Wanda. Yelena rolled a 3 and had to go last.
"Hey, that might be good; you can make your moves based on where other people are. Not where they might be." You said, cheering Yelena up slightly.
Kate and Wanda dominated the first few turns and minigames as you and Yelena struggled to move more than 4 per turn. You knew it was bad luck, but Yelena was about one more 1 v 3 mini-game from switching her joy-con until Kate got the first star.
"Who is that again?" Yelena asked as Toad started moving to a new spot on the map. "Toad. He's like a mushroom guy." Kate answered before you could. "Fuck! It's farther from me!" Wanda exclaimed as you turned towards the TV. Your eyes moving away from Yelena's side profile.
Toad landed seven spots in front of Yelena.
She could make it to him but she didn't have enough coins.
Luckily, when it was Yelena's turn, she rolled a five and landed on a blue space. Yet she was still short in terms of payment.
"Oh great, it's this one!" Wanda groaned. "Y/n's the be-" "Who wants to practice!?" You cut Wanda off and gave her a quiet glare; the other two people playing didn't seem to notice.
When everyone loaded into the practice mode, Wanda just gave you a confused look before forgetting about it.
Surprisingly, Yelena was just as good as you at rapidly clicking the button to send the little shy guy flying. But still, you won the practice mode. "Oh, come on, Y/n!" Yelena whined. "How did you do that?"
"What happened to winning the game on your own?" You said with your teasing voice dripping. Yelena loved that attitude and smirked. "Okay, Y/l/n, watch this." You turned towards the TV just before the mini-game started properly.
But not before you saw Kate's eyes on your blonde roommate.
"Come on!" Wanda yelled as her fingers smashed the button repeatedly. Kate groaned and held her breath as she did the same. You kept your technique unchanged, and Yelena did her best to copy you.
However, you knew from the practice round and every other game prior that you could do this with one with your eyes closed. But you had a crush on the blonde sitting next to you who cursed at her little yellow piece of shit character. Her words. So, without anyone realizing it, you stop mashing your button a few seconds before the timer ran out.
"Fuck that hurts!" Kate waved her hand around as the four shuguys began to take off.
Wanda's was the first to hit the ground. A laugh from her brother earned him a slap on the arm. Kate's followed the same destiny not long after, and to everyone's surprise, yours was the next to fail.
Wanda turned to you, shocked, but once Yelena realized she had won, Wanda put the pieces together and joined in the celebration of your defeat.
You were more than fine with it. Because now Yelena had enough coins to get her first-ever star.
She would never know it was really because of you.
"I'm taking a picture of this moment," Pietro said, making everyone laugh as Yelena hit the button to accept the Star from Toad.
"You Got A Star!" The game applauded! "I did it!" Yelena cheered and clapped to herself before you wrapped an arm around her and smiled at Pietro's dad's pose with the camera.
You thought Pietro had taken the picture when you shifted your face to take in Yelena's happiness.
Except, that was the picture that was taken.
Wanda made sure to show the one that followed where it looked like you were looking at the corner of the room.
After that, Yelena's luck turned for the better. She was on a roll. A few turns later, she earned another shiny star from a hidden block that left Kate flummoxed. "All I ever get is coins from those! Are you serious?!" Yelena laughed loudly at Kate.
Yelens then landed on Toad's space again after using a triple dice, and not even the prediction that you would win the game could stop Yelena.
Which left you, Kate, and Wanda struggling to do as much damage as possible to each other in the final turns of the first game.
"Yes!" Kate cheered when she got the last star next, making her and Yelena tied going into the Bonus Stars.
"Well, this sucks." Wanda sighed as she fell back against the couch. "There's no way I'm going to catch up!"
"What's happening?" Yelena asked no one in particular, but you still spoke up. "Bonus Stars. So once the game ends, it will still award additional stars to people. It makes it more exciting. Usually, it's like whoever landed on the most green spaces or landed on Bowser the most. Stuff like that." You explained, and you smiled when the blonde shifted her face to look at you.
However, your smile faltered a bit when you saw her eyes and the pout she wore. "So I might not win?"
"You can still win." You said with your voice soft. Yelena looked over your face as the moment became more intimate.
At least to you. You felt Wanda's gaze on you but moved your eyes to the TV.
"Yelena, look!" Kate pulled Yelena's attention away as the bonus star for the most distance traveled was being awarded.
It went to Wario.
And so did the next Bonus Star, which left Yelena jumping off the couch and into your arms when you stood up. "You did it!" You exclaimed loudly.
"I won the Mario Party!"
Your eyes shined as you looked at the way Yelena, how she couldn't control her excitement. It reminded you of the time you had won $200 on a lottery ticket, and you and Yelena went shopping. She bought a fur coat and wears it every time it hits below 45 degrees. (Fahrenheit)
You would always wanted her to be happy.
With the first round of Mario Party over, Wanda switched out with Pietro, and you did your best not to get competitive over the next game on the map in space. Yelena tried her hardest but found herself struggling. Pietro was just as fast in the game as he was in real life. Zooming from star to star, leaving you and Kate reeling.
"Y/l/n third place again!" Yelena teased as she landed herself in a solid second place behind Pietro. You went to jokingly retaliate, but Kate stole Yelena's attention and challenged her to a different Mario game.
Mario Kart.
Yelena's eyes went wide with fear before you slowly watched how they shifted.
Determined Yelena would be.
However, that would have to wait for another night as you looked at your phone, seeing how late it had gotten. Everyone agreed and helped you and the blonde clean up.
Pietro helped by eating two more slices.
"Oh hey, Y/n, before I leave, do you still have that red jacket? I wanted to borrow it for a party Lorna is throwing next week. It would fit the theme." Wanda said, shrugging her arms. You nodded and let her follow you to your bedroom.
"Here." You said, pulling the jacket off the hanger and holding your arm back. "Oh, thanks!" Wanda said as she grabbed it, and you turned around. Your eyes immediately noticed how your door had been shut.
"Wanda?" Sure, the two of you kissed when the clock struck midnight on New Year two years ago, but Wanda didn't have feelings. Did she? "Okay, spill!" Wanda said as she was closer than beforeâher voice above a whisper.
"Spill?"
"You and Yelena! What's going on there?" Ah! "Did you need this?" You said, picking up the arm of the jacket. Wanda shook her head. "I saw how you were looking at her! I take it she doesn't know?" You sighed. If there was anyone, you could count on sharing your newfound crush with, it was Wanda. "No, she doesn't know." You sighed again as you sat on your bed.
"Are you gonna tell her? Tonight?" Wanda asked, joining you by your side with her arms clutching the jacket. "I don't know... I want to... But."
"But it's Yelena." You nodded to Wanda's words. "I would also just hate to ruin our friendship." Wanda could understand. "Well, sometimes the biggest risks have the best rewards." You hated her cat poster-like words of wisdom, but she wasn't necessarily wrong. "Plus." You lifted your head to Wanda's green eyes before she continued. "At the end of the day, it's Yelena. Even if she didn't reciprocate those feelings with you, you know she wouldn't want anything to change between the two of you. You're best friends. She'll always be in your life. I'm sure it might be hard if she doesn't like you like you. But-"
"But I'd want her around." You finished Wanda's sentence. Wanda nodded, put her arm around you before her hand moved, and rubbed your back. "You're a big girl. You got this."
"You had to ruin it."
Wanda laughed loudly and let you rise from the bed. Before you helped her up. You definitely needed a new box spring.
Opening the door to your bedroom, your eyes caught Yelena's as she exited a hug from Kate. Her eyes quickly moved away from you and Wanda as she confirmed her plans to practice Mario Kart for the next game night, whenever that would be.
"Got the jacket. Let's go!" Wanda yelled to her brother, who was helping out and putting the leftover pizza in foil for you. Oh, no, wait. He was grabbing some to go.
Kate noticed where your eyesight had gone and laughed at Pietro's actions before giving you a tight hug. "Tonight was so much fun, thank you!" You hugged your childhood friend just as tight. "Thanks for coming."
Kate then moved to Yelena and was awkward as she accidentally punched Yelena in the boob as she lifted her arm to hug the blonde. Again. Yelena laughed loudly as Kate blushed before they hugged. Kate left with a cloud of smoke after that.
"Bye, Y/n. Bye, Yelena!" Pietro said his goodbye first with a quick wave to you and a side hug to Yelena. Wanda turned around and hugged you before turning and doing the same to the blonde. You smiled as you walked closer to the door at the end of the apartment hallway. "Bye, guys!" You waved as you shut the door to Wanda, mouthing, "Talk to her."
With a click, the door was locked, and it was just you and Yelena. "That was a good time, Y/n!" Your cheeks wore a light pink as you moved away from the door. Following Yelena in the living room area. "I'm glad you had fun, Lena."
Yelena moved to the couch and grabbed the remote as you entered the kitchen to grab some water. Your mind racing with a way to bring up you're feelings. "I'm not tired yet. Do you want to watch a movie?" Yelena called out from the living room. "Uh, sure! Just pick whatever!" You called out with your voice jumping from your nerves.
You took longer than one would need to fill out their water bottle. Thankfully, Yelena didn't seem to notice as she swiped through hundreds of different options.
She was trying to find something specifically tailored to you.
"You like this one, no?" Yelena asked as you finally sat down. The movie was Legally Blonde, and Yelena knew you loved it, so why was she questioning it? One look and you could see her mind had been racing too.
And for some reason, that calmed your nerves just a bit. What if she felt the same way you did?
You hid a smile and scooted closer to Yelena, who tensed up slightly before pulling you in and dropping an arm around you. "Should I have made popcorn?" You asked. Yelena shook her head. "Still full."
You were, too.
As Elle Woods began to wake up on the screen, you bit your lip. Would during or after the movie be an appropriate time to talk to Yelena?
"Y/n?" Yelena's voice broke you from your thoughts as you lifted your eyes to her. Yelena was chewing on her lip. "Yeah?"
"I have something to say, and I don't know how you're going to take it." Your heart started beating faster than you ever thought possible. "Okay." You said as the movie fell into a black hole behind you. Your body lifts off Yelena to give her your entire attention.
Could this be it?
Yelena sighed before her eyes fell on you. They were gentle. "Tonight, I discovered something... and I'm unsure how to move forward."
You knew the feeling.
"Okay..." Yelena moved her leg below her and turned more towards you. "I... I-" You had never seen Yelena so nervous and flustered. Not even when she booked a trip to Paris, Texas, and not Paris, France. "Yelena." You reached for her hand and took it. "Whatever it is. I'm here for you. I can help."
Yelena knew this, yet she was anxious. "I think I might have a crush on-" "Oh wow! Okay! Tha-"
"On Kate," Yelena said with the words flying out of her. She needed to get this off her chest. She needed you to know. She didn't like this feeling inside of her as she was keeping this to herself. Plus, Kate Bishop was your childhood best friend. Yelena didn't want to make that uncomfortable for you.
"Now! I know this might be weird! But I-" Yelena stopped and quickly gathered her wordsâenough time for you to process what just happened and to hear your heart become shattered glass.
"There is just something about her. I'm drawn in. She's clumsy but beautiful. Funny!" Yelena laughed to herself as a fake smile finally appeared on your face. "But!" Yelena gripped your hand, and you still felt butterflies in your stomach due to the touch of her soft fingers. "If you have a problem with this or feel uncomfortable, let me know!"
Yelena was dead serious. If you told her that it would make things... unbearable she wouldn't pursue any bit of this with Kate. But you couldn't do that to her. You wouldn't put her own happiness in jeopardy. "It's okay." You said with a smileâanother fake one.
You had to fake it now. You could cry later.
"Are you sure?" You nodded. "Absolutely!" You said. Yelena nodded a tad. "It's just she's your childhood friend, and I'm your best friend-"
"Yeah. You're my best friend, Yelena, so of course I want you to be happy."
You said with an enthusiasm you didn't know you could muster. But it finally convinced Yelena, who pulled you in for a hug. "Oh, thank you, Y/n Y/l/n!" She said into your neck. You closed your eyes and let the moment happen. "I love you, Y/n!" Yelena said with a loud cheeriness in her voice.
"I love you too, Yelena!" You whispered back.
By the time the next game night rolled around, Yelena and Kate were dating.
You hated Mario Kart after that.

So excited to see your requests open!!! My first request since I found you!! So I was having a hard time deciding what to ask for and then I thought why not do a dice roller on the prompt list with the categories!
And I got love confessions 7, and then under fluff 11. Honestly it sounds cute as hell! And thatâs all, full author control of the set up and what have you.
And clearly Iâm very indecisive tonight so I rolled for who to ask for it with, between Steve Harrington and Eddie Munson. And the dice gods decreed Steve and I cannot wait to see what you do with this!
You are chefâs kiss, shining star, ten million fireflies lighting up the world as owlcity fell asleep.
Lol, basically youâre great and your writing is great and thank you so so much for doing requests as much as you do! it really just makes it easier to get through the miasma that is life when I can check here for new goodies on fic days. Your effort is so appreciated babes. XOXO
âIâm going to need you to stop for one second because I just find it so incredibly rude that you think Iâm not head over heels in love with your stupid, oblivious ass. Are you a brick? Because youâre dense as fuck.â
âOur kids are gonna be *mwah*!â
A harsh confession
Steve was a helpless romantic who never wanted to give up on his relationship with Nancy. But it was clear she didn't love him and a part of him was scared to admit he didn't love her. They were high school lovers and he figured she'd be the one until the end, simply because it was the easiest outcome.
And then he met someone else, Y/N. He met someone who made him feel things he had never felt with Nancy. It scared the shit out of him. To make matters worse, it was his new coworker. Someone he would always see and spend time with. Then he'd go back to Nancy and try to get Y/N out of his head.
But she never left. She haunted Steve's head and he couldn't escape her. He didn't have the heart to tell Nancy, so he planned to suffer for the rest of his life in a convenient relationship. Nancy had other plans, she fell in love with someone else too, but she wasn't going to stay for Steve. One drunk night and all her feelings came to the surface. Steve was hurt but man was he relieved.
~~~
Steve walked into work as a new man, a bright smile on his face. He was free and that meant he could go for Y/N, the girl he truly wanted.
"What's got you in a good mood?" Robin asked
"Nancy broke up with me," Steve said, but he didn't sound upset about it, and that confused Robin
"Isn't a breakup supposed to be heartbroken and supposed to be crying in your bedroom and not showering for days?"
"I'm not a girl," Steve scoffed, which led Robin to give him a glare and roll her eyes. "It was needed, neither of us was in it anymore," Steve explained.
"Morning, guys," Y/N smiled as she walked through the doors. Steve smiled upon hearing her voice, his stomach fluttering as she walked past him and he inhaled her perfume.
"Morning, Y/N," Robin smiled
They followed her with their eyes until she was out of sight.
"That's why you aren't upset. You got your eye on someone else," Robin teased, nudging Steve with her elbow.
"Yeah, but the question is, does she have her eye on me?" Steve sighed
~~~
Now that Steve was single, he tried to charm Y/N's socks off. It seemed to work, she'd smile and get shy. Sometimes she'd flirt back and it made Steve's head spin.
He felt too nervous to straight out ask if she was interested in him so he hoped his flirting and consistent interest told her how he felt. But were girls ever that easy? Nope.
She liked Steve, of course, she did. He was gorgeous with his sweet eyes, perfect smile, and flowy hair. She had feelings for him the second she met him. But he was with Nancy so she never went for it. Now he is single and seems to flirt with her more than he ever did with Nancy.
Y/N wanted to give in but she was scared to be his rebound. She liked him too much to date him so fresh out of a relationship. She couldn't tell if he was interested in hooking up or interested in being together. She could have asked him but she felt like she would sound way too pushy about it.
She gave it a week or two and Steve never asked her out so she gave up. A random boy she met asked her out and she accepted the date. She wasn't exactly interested in the poor boy but maybe it would make Steve move forward a step.
~
"SHE'S ON A DATE!" Steve screamed as he walked into Robin's bedroom. His hair was a mess from the amount of times he ran his hands through it. He was beyond frustrated and a bit hurt.
"What?" Robin asked
"She's on a fucking date, Robin. Clearly, she doesn't like me," Steve huffed, collapsing on her bed with a dramatic sigh.
"Well, have you thought about asking her on a date?" Robin sighed, already knowing her peaceful night was going to be spent on Steve's feelings.
"Obviously!" Steve groaned
"Okay, did you ever ask her?"
"Well, no,"
"How do you know she doesn't like you if you've never asked her out?" Robin sarcastically smiled
"Because she's currently on a date with a guy," Steve said back in a duh tone.
"It's a date, Steve. She isn't getting married," Robin said as she rolled her eyes, "ask the girl out."
~~~
The next day Steve pulled her aside at work. She was confused but followed him into the back room.
"What's up?"
"How was your date?" Steve asked, he crossed his arms and leaned against the wall
Y/N was surprised he cared to ask, "It was alright. Is that what you wanted to talk about?"
"Will there be another date?" Steve asked. He tried to sound nonchalant but his tone was clearly snippy.
"Being debated," Y/N shrugged.
"Well is he cute?" Steve asked
"Yes, Steve he's cute. What's going on?" Y/N asked
"Just catching up with my friend," Steve shrugged.
Y/N felt her body deflate at the word friend. She rolled her eyes and headed for the door.
"Where are you going?" Steve asked, pushing off the wall to follow her
"To work, Steve. This conversation seems to be pointless." She snapped
"Talking to me is pointless?" Steve scoffed
"It seems like it!" Y/N huffed. "I mean we barely have conversations. We flirt and that's it. Now you call me your friend and try to get the inside scoop of my dating life. What do you want from this conversation?"
"I want to know why you went on a date with that guy!" Steve exclaimed
"Because he asked me out!"
"But why would you go when we were...you know flirting," Steve argued
"I'm sorry I didn't know flirting meant we were exclusive. You never said anything about actually liking me!"
"Well, I do!" Steve fought, "I like you and I want to ask you out but it's clear you don't like me that way. I mean you already have dates lined up so I guess I shouldn't waste my time." Steve went for the door but Y/N stood in front of it. Steve looked down at her, it was clear he was angry but didn't want to lose his cool.
"I didn't want to be your rebound!" Y/N admitted
Steve's face softened, "what?"
"You and Nancy just broke up. I've always liked you but I didn't know if you were flirting because you like me or it got your mind off Nancy. And you never did anything more than flirt so I have a feeling it's the second one." Y/N spat, her eyes went into slits as she glared.
âIâm going to need you to stop for one second because I just find it so incredibly rude that you think Iâm not head over heels in love with your stupid, oblivious ass. Are you a brick? Because youâre dense as fuck.â Steve laughed with no humor behind it.
"Hey you don't have to be so ru- wait you love me?" Y/N asked, her anger disappeared as shock took over her body.
"I've been in love with you, even when I was with Nancy. I should have gotten to the point and asked you out. But you also never said how you felt!" Steve argued, "But we know how we feel now, so where do you want to go with this?"
Y/N didn't have to think. She closed her eyes and pressed her lips against his. Her hands dove into his hair, it was softer than she ever dreamed. She loved feeling his hair and his lips, she knew she'd never get tired of it.
Steve kissed her back, his arms wrapped around her body. He pressed her against the door and kissed her harder.
The door pushed back against them and they quickly jumped apart. Robin kept pushing open the door until the two came into view.
"Got a job to do lovebirds," Robin said
"Right!" Y/N said, her body felt like it was on fire as she raced out of the door
âOur kids are gonna be *mwah*!â Steve said a dazed smile on his face.
"Oh Lord help me," Robin sighed as she went in the direction Y/N went.
Imagine arguing with Sanji in the kitchen and holding up serviceâŚ
The kitchen at Baratie was heating up and it wasnât from the flaming stovetops or pre-heated ovens.
There was a wicked, hot tension between yourself and Sanji and it was making the rest of the kitchen staff sweat. No one knew what had caused the new dynamic but they quickly learnt to stay a safe distance from the pair after Patty accidentally fanned the flame. Now they only interacted with the duo when required.
Sanji was chopping vegetables for his soup that was almost ready to simmer while you silently iced some cakes on the station beside him. Both regretting the request to cook next to one another.
The blonde-haired chef finished dicing the last of the carrots and picked up the board to hold over the pot. He gently swept the vegetables into the broth with the knife. Setting the utensils back down, Sanji inhaled the beautiful aroma that was starting to perfume the air. His hand reached out for his spoon but his fingers met empty air.
He sighed and closed his eyes. âIâd like my spoon back.â
Your eyes were fixed on the patterns being made on the soft pieces of sponge but your ears picked up that his tone was directed toward you.
âI donât have it.â You offered simply without breaking focus.
Sanji turned to you, eyes squinting. âReally? Because I recall that you used it last to mix the cake batter.â
It was your turn to exhale. âI did and I washed it thoroughly before setting it back on the table.â
âWell, itâs not here.â
âThen pull out another one.â You snapped.
Sanji lowered the heat of his soup so it wouldnât burn before returning to glare at you. âWhy should I have to when youâre the one who-â
Splat! The cookâs eyes went wide as the cold vanilla cream dripped from his chin, lips tasting its sweetness.
You now stood upright holding the bag of frosting, brows knitted to match the frown on your face.
âI didnât take your damn spoon.â
The doors to the kitchen opened with their familiar heaviness and a wooden footstep hit the tiles.
âWhy is there no soup or cakes out on the floor?â Zeff asked as he entered.
The kitchen that had gone quiet during the public argument suddenly sprang to life and scrambled to resume duties. Zeffâs eyes floated to the two in charge of the slowed menu line and his eyes narrowed.
âWhy on earth are you tasting the desserts, Little Eggplant?â He inquired, approaching the bench.
Sanjiâs hands flew to gesture your entire being. âY/n is literally holding the bag. Iâm a victim here!â
Zeff held a hand up to silence the boy and set his gaze on you. âYou know that we donât waste food here. Explain yourself.â
You shrugged. âHe accused me of losing his spoon so I did what had to be done. Iâm not apologising.â
Zeff blinked, jaw dropping slightly.
âA spoon.â He repeated slowly before his voice, and temper, was unleashed. âYou two held up service because of a damn spoon!â
You held up your hands in defence. âI told him to just use another one but he was stubborn about it.â
Sanji didnât take kindly to being thrown under the bus, rounding on you while completely ignoring the steam blowing out of Zeffâs ears.
âExcuse me but that is my special soup spoon. Youâre lucky that I even let you borrow it.â
You rolled your eyes. âItâs a spoon, Sanji. Itâs not the All Blue.â
âYou know what-?â
âIâve heard enough!â Zeff bellowed, his voice sending vibrations through the glassware. âMix the soup with a rolling pin for all I care. Just get it out to the customers along with those cakes or youâre both on dish duty for two months. Am I clear?â
Receiving a grumbled reply, the owner of the Baratie marched off.
A few stations away, Patty stealthily pulled a towel to cover the wooden handle of the missing utensil. It was too late to reveal the small prank without being boiled alive or baked into a pie.
With the tension still rising, Patty decided to lock them in a cupboard after the shift.
~ More imagines here ~
A/n: Heading back to the office tomorrow with a 5am wake up but here I lay at 12am dishing out some Baratie mania (with more to come). No regrets.
Eddie x reader, oral fixation ?
(Maybe Sexual but in a domestic way? Like not outright sex but sexual things in a casual fluffy setting, if that makes sense. Or just do what you want with it x)
eddie munson x reader/ eddie munson x gn!reader
warning(s): cussing, pre-established relationship, suggestive themes, oral fixation (not sure if that has to be put but imma put it anyway). NOT PROOFREAD. If this isnât what you like, DONâT READ.
a/n: Itâs just a blurb and I wasnât too sure what you were requesting and itâs not you, Iâm just slow as shit. so if it wasnât what you were looking for just lmk.
â
If it werenât for the finger in your mouth, and the obvious suggestions that came with it (had someone seen), it wouldâve been seen as any other sort of display of affection.
But Eddieâs finger was in your mouth, your back pressed up to his front.
It was in every sense very sexual looking, but the intentions behind it were anything but that. While he wasnât one to keep his mind in the clear when it came to having such an attractive person in his arms, in this case you, he wasnât always trying to get something out of it. Most of the time when you guys were like this, it was without your awareness that what you were doing was sexual.
Probably because it was something that came so casually for you two, you never saw it as anything but that.
Your oral fixation had been something that often earned you some looks in the past, and the reason why Eddie had been so unfazed by it when he first saw how much youâd be messing with your mouth, was because he himself had it too.
Itâd been one time when you absentmindedly pulled his finger between your lips when you were speaking under your breath about something. And while at the time, it caused a few questions to rise, he never assumed itâd go further than you just needing to occupy yourself. He just went along with it.
Eddie had wrapped his arm around your shoulder as he always did when he wanted you close, his hand had come up to thumb your temples and it was just natural that it lowered as he went.
He didnât even have to look to know what he was doing or to see how youâd respond.
His thumb grazed over your lips, absentmindedly. Your current effort of trying to count your teeth with your tongue, forgotten, as you pulled his finger between your mouth. Your hand over his as you intertwined your guyâs fingers, your thumb on top of his own that was being pressed to your bottom lip.
It was so casual for the two of you, just lying there in each others arm like any other couple would. The only thing was you had your boyfriends finger in your mouth as he went on about the new dice he got.
Every Baby Needs a Daddy 8
Part 7
The rest of the band had gotten over their shock of the news of Eddie's sudden rut and were having a conversation about sewing or something but Steve was deep in thought.
"I'm telling you, it's both calming and not calming", Jeff said as they walked out of the venue.
Gareth adjusted his jacket. "You get all that from quilting?"
"You remember your dice obsession way back when?"
"Dude, that's all I remember from junior year."
"You guys aren't worried about Eddie?", Steve asked, interjecting.
"Why would we be worried?", Gareth asked.
"He just-", Steve paused when a couple of fans caught them between the sidewalk and the car taking them back to the hotel. It didn't seem prudent for anyone to know why Eddie would be indisposed right now. But he continued when the fans got their autographs and left. "He just went into rut without any warning."
"Yeah, but he's a grown man", Jeff said. "He can handle it."
'Handle it'. How alphas usually handled it was all Steve could think about on the way back to the hotel. Alphas of his previous tax bracket would usually have a designated partner. Whether that was someone they were married to, were promised to, or just someone they had an agreement with, it was odd for an alpha of means to spend a rut alone. So did Eddie already have someone like that?
Was that why he pushed Steve away and took off? So that he could go to them? The initial twinge of heartbreak and rejection was quickly replaced with anger. Who the hell had stolen his alpha away?
"Uhh, is Steve okay?", Grant asked, picking up on the bothered scent he was putting out.
"I need to talk to Eddie", Steve said, arms crossed.
"Chrissy's already with him in his room. She's probably making sure he's all set up", Jeff said.
Chrissy. Corroded Coffin's manager. Completely professional. But also...she was an omega...One that had known Eddie for a long time. When the car parked, Steve got out, forging ahead to the suite he and Eddie were sharing.
"Steve? Steve! We're telling you man, it's gonna be okay", Jeff tried to reassure him.
"And no one's gonna blame you", Gareth added.
That got Steve to stop in his tracks just as he was about to press the button for the elevators. "What do you mean blame me? For what?"
All three of them looked anywhere but him. Steve put his hands on his hips, not allowing them to get out of answering his question. Jeff was the one that broke.
"His rut, Steve. I think it's pretty obvious it only happened because... well, you and he, you know..."
Yes, Steve did know. It didn't take a genius to figure it out. Decades of science had proven that in certain conditions, this situation could happen. He let out a puff of laughter and ran his hands through his hair.
Honestly, if you had asked him, Steve wouldâve figured that Eddie would have triggered his heat first. Heâd heard the stories of having your hormones knocked out of whack by an alpha and having an off-cycle heat. So having to deal with his rut out of the blue was definitely a surprise.
Looking back on the past twenty four hours, anyone from the outside would have thought that Steve had been purposely trying to start it. But his sweet, sweet alpha and treated the situation like he was inconveniencing Steve. He had pushed Steve away, probably for his own good.
When he allowed himself to calm down and think about it, the idea that Eddie was getting his rocks off to someone else right now was just unbelievable. They had agreed. Exclusive. Which meant Eddie intended to ride this out alone.
âYou donât have to worry about Eddieâ, Gareth said. âYou can bunk with one of us while we wait for it to pass.â
âIâm not going to leave himâ, Steve said quickly.
He pushed the elevator button and when the doors opened, he went inside. Grant and the others followed him. They stood behind Steve, trying to have a silent conversation on how to proceed.
"I can hear you guys bugging out", Steve said without turning. "It'll be fine." It wasn't even a matter of choice. His alpha needed him.
When the doors opened, he led the brigade and took his key card out. Inside, Chrissy was ending a call and Eddie was nowhere to be seen. She frowned a little at Steve.
"You shouldn't be here."
"I'm here to help Eddie", Steve said.
She looked disappointed at the band behind him, as if they were supposed to keep him away before giving Steve her attention again.
"Look, Steve, I know you're nice. But it's a liability thing. You could get hurt and Eddie's a public figure. Or maybe you'll use this to baby trap him, I don't know. But I can't let you use my friend that way."
Steve let out a hiss at the accusation. He had to remind himself and his omega that Eddie wasn't actually his alpha, that they weren't mated. She was completely in her rights as a friend and manager to protect her friend.
"Eddie won't hurt me. Chrissy, you know that stereotype about alphas during rut is nothing but BS. And I'm on birth control, so no pups are coming out of me any time soon."
"Baby, Chrissy", Eddie called out as he came out of the bedroom.
Steve ran up to him but Eddie grabbed his hands, keeping him at arms length. Steve frowned, but understood. They never really discussed what to do if one of them went into their cycles. But Eddie was still of a clear mind. They had time to discuss it now.
"Do you trust him?", Chrissy asked.
"With my signed copy of Lord of the Rings", Eddie smiled.
Steve's brow rose. "By Tolkien?"
"No, by McKellen. Which is better. The thing is, I don't trust myself around you while I'm like this."
Steve pouted a bit and let go of Eddie's hands, turning back to the rest of the group. "Do you mind giving us some privacy? I promise, if he turns me away, I'll come to one of your rooms."
"Text me before you guys get too....you know...", Chrissy said. "We can make accommodations."
"Will do", Steve said as he walked over to the couch while they left him and Eddie alone. Once they were, Steve patted the space next to him. Eddie came over, but only sat on the far opposite side.
âAngel, you shouldnât be here. Iâm not safe.â
Steve rolled his eyes. âEddie, youâre a pre-rut alpha. Not an insatiable lust monster.â
âBut we never talked about thisâŚyou doing this for me, being my-m-my-â
âShhâ, Steve put a finger to his lips. âYouâve been taking such good care of me. I just wanna return the favor.â Then he let out an exaggerated sigh and turned away, standing up âBut if you donât want me here-â
He heard a loud thump that was probably the from Eddie rushing and falling off the couch to stop him. He felt Eddie hug him from behind, gentle, like he was afraid of breaking him.
"I want to. Christ alive, I want to. But I...what if I'm too much? What if I cross the line?"
Steve turned in his arms and kissed his nose. "Then we need to draw a line in the sand first."
Eddie nodded. "Okay. Okay, I can do that." His hands were already toeing the line, inching under Steve's shirt. "Maybe we have this conversation with some space between us?"
Steve conceded to that. He didn't want to get distracted either. So they sat back down on the couch, apart but not too far apart.
"Sooo, what am I allowed to do?", Eddie asked.
"Anything", Steve breathed out before composing himself. Eddie's scent was getting stronger but he had to not think with his pussy for once. "I mean, just what we've done before. All of that is fine."
"What if I wanna bite you?", Eddie swallowed.
"You know you're allowed to do that", Steve smirked. He was still sporting some of the marks from earlier.
"Even if I wanted to...", Eddie's eyes went to his neck. "Once I'm in rut, I'll really want it. I'll wanna make you mine. In any way I can."
'Don't think with your cunt, don't think with your cunt. Make a rational decision-god our babies would be so beautiful-but we're not ready to be mated-he's such a good alpha, perfect alpha, could raise our pups good, keep them safe and-'
"We can, um", Steve cleared his throat and looked around for something. He got up, just to get some space and also think of something that would keep him from getting a mating bite tonight even though that was all he wanted. He saw something on the bed and went right for it.
"Perfect!", he exclaimed, returning with the black bandana Eddie had been wearing during the concert. It was saturated with his scent. Steve folded it to a rectangular band and then tied it around his neck. "This is off limits", he said. "And your alpha brain won't fight because-"
"Because it already smells like you're mine. Sweet thing, you're a genius", Eddie beamed. He got off the couch and pulled Steve in his arms, kissing him sweetly. He took in a deep breath and released a full body shudder. "It's working already."
"Oh yeah?", Steve couldn't help looking smug.
"Mhm. It's like you've already got my bite." Eddie started to kiss at his jaw. "And it's making me wonder why I haven't got you pupped up yet."
Steve could've swooned but he had to keep his wits about him for as long as he could. "There's one more thing."
"Hm?", Eddie looked up, his eyes were already starting to get the moony look.
"You're not going to be entirely yourself. I know that. So like I said, I'm gonna take care of you. That means you listen to me. I'm in charge, okay?"
Eddie nodded rapidly. "You're in charge. Got it."
"Good alpha", Steve stroked his hair. With any luck, the tour schedule wouldn't be messed up too badly. Alpha ruts typically lasted around 3-5 days. It would've been longer if he had to go solo. There was the idea still being passed around that an alpha's rut would end when they were convinced their partner had conceived, but Steve wasn't sure how he was supposed to trick Eddie's alpha into thinking that.
But the important part was that they'd decided what to do and Steve was taking him to bed.
"You know, the guys think that I triggered your rut", Steve said.
"And don't you look proud", Eddie grinned, lying in bed next to him. He frowned and sniffed at the comforter. "Doesn't smell right. Doesn't smell like us."
Us. Steve felt himself get wet. Well, wetter. He was going to be Eddie's omega. At least while his rut was going on.
"Do you know what I was thinking, while I was watching you on stage earlier?", Steve asked.
Eddie swallowed and shook his head. Steve pushed him onto his back and sat on his lap. Eddie looked perfect under him and between his legs like this.
"I was thinking about how sexy you looked. How everybody couldn't take their eyes off you, but you were only looking at me." Steve started a slow grind and watched as Eddie's eyes darkened. "And how I wanted to ride you all night long."
Goth Dice - Part 2
Part 1
Still preoccupied with being in awe of her new boobs, Lisa didnât notice the next transformation. Only when she attempted to stand back up and walk towards her computer did she spot something was off. At first, she wasnât even sure what was different, her body was unchanged (barring the tits, of course), the only difference was the she felt a little taller. But not significantly enough for her to have rolled that one transformation that makes her 6â5.
Perhaps it was due to her increasing horniness, or maybe her changed dice did keep some of the âbimboâ in them, but only after a substantial moment did she notice that she was walking on her tip-toes. They were at a much higher angle than with the usual heels transformation, mind you. Her feet were positioned as if they were made for extremely tall fetish boots. And it was completely natural for her, so natural in fact, that, well, she didnât notice it.
At this moment she pondered for a second if the dice had some way of reading her thoughts. Just before rolling them, she admitted to herself that she wanted them to make her into a âgoth sex dollâ â and now she got two of the most objectifying transformations out of the set. She trembled with arousal at the thought of her hypothesis being true, as that meant her future transformations could objectify her even more. She was really hoping to get the one that makes her pussy feel perpetually empty â to hammer home her newfound purpose.
She, sadly, didnât get it. Instead, her clothes started changing. While they were already black, they began changing from a casual crop top and shorts, in to something much more eye-catching: latex. Her tip-toeing feet were now placed inside of absurdly tall shoes they were yearning for, while her upper body was covered with a skin-tight bodysuit, that clung on nicely to everything but her boobs, which were given a nice window to keep them on display. All her other clothing also changed in similar fashion, becoming black, latex and slutty. Normally, Lisa wouldâve ran towards the mirror, but the tip-toe heels she was now forced to wear made any type of movement other than a slow and sexy strut impossible. She ran her hands over her body, each and every curve now exaggerated. It was exactly what sheâd dreamed of â nobody seeing her walking around in an outfit like this would see her as more than a set of holes to be filled. That thought made a wave of arousal wash over her.
At its center was a feeling of emptiness between her legs. It only grew, as she realized it was the final transformation hitting her, the exact one she was anticipating a moment before. She was yearning to be stuffed with something, anything. The only thing preventing her from dropping on the floor and finger-fucking herself was the latex bodysuit limiting her access. She tried to nonetheless â as the need consumed her, she clawed at the part of the outfit that was covering her crotch, before stopping and looking into the distance for a moment.
At that very moment, she realized sheâd become exactly what she wanted to be: a goth fuckdoll. And as she admitted that to herself, she only felt the emptiness grow stronger, much to her rejoice.
Do you often use random dungeon layout generators for your megadungeons? If so, how do you make those randomly generated layouts make sense as a space? I find that the eclectic nature of how the dungeon ends up looking makes it feel weird to consider the area as a real space instead of as the output to a random generator.
I use a lot of random generation when I make megadungeons, but I pretty much never use a layout generator. That's a solution to a different problem from the one that I have. Creating an assortment of rooms connected in random ways is pretty easy for me. The problem, as you note, is making the space engaging, making it make sense, making the connections logical but also interesting, etc.
But I do think random generation is a great way to juice your creativity! Getting external input that you then have to fit your ideas into often produces better results than just trying to create on a blank slate.
My most common random tools are roll tables for generating dungeon rooms and features. Worlds Without Number is the first book I reach for for most random tables, and it has some pretty solid tables for generating rooms, features in the rooms, connections, etc. I also have a bunch of tables saved from OSR blogs for generating interesting traps or dungeon features. Honestly just rolling for the number of exits a space has is one of the simplest ways to force myself to think creatively. When the dice tell me a bedroom has six exits, it means I need to re-evaluate what that bedroom is doing and I probably need to create some unusual exits.
I will use geomorphs sometimes. These are basically bespoke little fragments of dungeon created to be shuffled and combined randomly. Dyson Logos has a bunch of these, and I know @imsobadatnicknames2 has a bunch as well. These are good for creating a bunch of interesting connections and clever tiny bits that are great for finding interesting uses for. I've never used these to generate a whole dungeon, but for small fragments I really like them. I also have a set of them handy when I run a sandbox campaign in case the players somehow end up in a dungeon I didn't prep for at all.
Now, if you do want to use a randomly generated layout, whether from some tool, a dice generator, geomorphs, whatever, I have some advice for making sense of it: embrace the second occupant effect.
It's very common in dungeons that the people who built the dungeon and the current occupants are not the same group. It's an orcish ruin occupied by dwarves, it's an ancient temple being used as a bandit hideout, it's a wizard's keep overrun by demons, etc. The question that a random layout is going to have you asking is, "Why is this constructed this way?" and it's perfectly okay for the answer to be, "there's nobody left who knows." What was this big room with seven entrances built for? Well, nobody knows, but the goblins living there are using it as a dining hall.
If you're designing using this approach, you don't need an answer for every space. You can instead approach it the same way its new occupants did. Take it for granted that this is the space that exists, how would the new occupants use it? That weird room off to the side that's a pain to access? Well, who knows what it was built for, but it's cold storage now. This weird thoroughfare makes a perfectly good guard checkpoint. This big hole in the floor might have been used for casting spells at some point, but now it's a garbage dump. In this way, it's easy to come up with what rooms are now that doesn't require you to answer what a room was built for.
Using this approach, you still want to have good answers for what a room's original purpose was some of the time. If the space just never makes sense, players will stop trying to engage with it logically, and that's a big loss. Plus, using this effect most effectively, you get a lot of value out of knowing the previous purpose of a room. It can be easy for every kitchen to feel similar, but a kitchen that's been built on what used to be a foundry is instantly more interesting and easier to get creative with. But you get to pick and choose the parts of a random layout that look interesting, or that you have an easy time answering for, and make those the parts where the original purpose shines through. And then in the spaces where you're left saying, "What is with this snarl of hallways?" you can just have the answer be, "it's a mystery. Scholars theorize it served a ritual purpose."
last forever [2/13]
Summary: Zoro only offered to marry you to keep you out of an arranged marriage with a man much older than you. You agreed with the caveat of ending it via annulment once you received word from your parents regarding the original engagement, despite your growing feelings for your close friend.
Pairing: Zoro x Fem!reader, mentioned Sanami later (like epilogue later so chill)
Warnings: Marriage of Convenience, Fake Marriage, referenced sex (waaaaaay later on), mutual pining, Zoro is bad at feelings but what's new there, eventual romance I promise, mention of past attempted assault (I'll warn in that chapter), creepy older dude later on
Note: Why yes I did write this after watching OPLA, why do you ask?
[Ch. 1]
Of course, it just had to be a crazy clown that was your next opponent. You didn't fear clowns but you didn't like them terribly much either, so being up against Buggy the Clown and his crew of pirates was making this day worse for you.
First, Luffy had been snatched away by a freaking bird that he tried to catch and turn into food (how he expected to cook it, you had no idea). You and Zoro quickly followed after, not even stopping to properly pick up the men you found in the middle of the ocean who were calling for help. Even when they tried to rob you, the glares the two of you gave and the slight beating from Zoro, once they realized who he was, the three men you picked up took over the rowing and brought you to Orange Town.
Once you found him, Luffy had already been thrown into a cage by Buggy, Zoro making an attempt to dice the clown who only proved he was perfectly fine afterwards, stabbing Zoro instead.After practically jumping from the rooftop with him still in the cage, the girl gave the key up, before it was swallowed by a little dog. The mayor of the town appeared before you next and you asked for a place to treat Zoro's stab wound and where he could rest, Mayor Boodle taking you all to his house.
"I don't need you to treat it, I'll sleep it off."
Zoro nearly flinched at the glare you set on him, making him take his shirt off so you could see the wound better.
"Sleep it off, what a load of crock," Shaking your head, you threaded a needle and sterilized it with a match, "You know that's not how you heal from stab wounds, dummy."
As you started stitching the wound, Zoro watched you closely like he always did. You'd done this so many times at this point, having been terrified of giving him stitches at first, until the worst wound you'd seen him get. He wasn't anywhere near close to bleeding out from it, but after an hour of it still bleeding, you forced him back onto the hotel bed and started stitching him up, pushing away your fears and the tears that you felt welling up as you did so. When you had finished, Zoro was impressed and thanked you, making you smile before you burst into tears over the whole thing.
"What are you crying for?!"
"IâŚI've neverâŚdone that before!"
He'd never have guessed you hadn't done stitches before, but your work never tore, he took it upon himself to remove them when you said it was safe to do. He didn't want you to start crying again.
After that you stitched up any severe wounds he had, just as you were doing at that moment.
"Okay," you cut the thread and finally nodded once you were done, "Now you can sleep. Don't do anything to tear the stitches though."
"Fine."
You put your items away while Zoro laid down, telling him you were going to see if you could help get Luffy out of the cage and ask about this other girl if she was joining you all or not. Before you left, you gave him another glare.
"You better stay still and sleep."
"I will, trust me on that."
Satisfied, you finally left and Zoro smiled to himself before falling asleep.
Not so bad having her as a wife.
+!+
Your hope that you'd all get out of Orange Town without a fight was gone as you stood in front of Cabaji with your own sword drawn. You had told (yelled at) Zoro to go back to resting instead of bothering to fight this acrobat, turning it into an argument between the two of you.
Zoro believed he was completely fine and could fight, despite you noticing the small winces of pain every now and then. Still though, he wouldn't listen to you and attempted several times to move you out of the way so he could fight.
It angered you more than anything, and you finally turned around and glared at him, Zoro more so thinking it was almost cute rather than scary like you thought it'd be.
"Gosh, why the hell are you such a stubborn man?!"
"Says the equally stubborn woman!"
Luffy watched the two of you, amused at how you acted like you really were a married couple despite you saying it wasn't a real marriage. He was starting to not believe you.
Zoro, on the other hand, was getting more frustrated with you as you placed yourself between him and Cabaji, who watched you two in annoyance at the fact neither of you were fighting him, but were fighting each other.
Get a room geez.
"I don't need you fighting battles for me!"
"You're still injured, you oaf!" You screeched back at Zoro, not stopping an attack from the annoyed Cabaji in time. He threw a kick into your side, sending you towards a building. You only stopped and didn't fly right into the building thanks to Zoro moving quickly enough to stop you, grabbing you around the waist to keep you from hitting anything but him.
"You all right?" He was quiet, but the look on his face told you he was angry. At you or Cabaji, you weren't sure, but you nodded. You'd always felt his bandana made him look scarier when he was in battle, but the way he looked at you this time, despite the anger, was more like he was worried about you, maybe. Zoro would probably never admit such a thing to you if you asked.
You were in pain, hissing a slight bit when Zoro set you down. You figured it was just going to be some bruising, nothing to worry about, even though it hurt at that moment.
Zoro made sure you were safe, before standing back up and setting the harshest glare you'd seen from him yet on Cabaji.
"Don't you dare touch my wife again."
Never had you felt like someone was fighting for you or your honor before then. The fact Zoro willingly called you his wife, that stuck in your head on repeat while you watched him fight and defeat Cabaji, moving past your own pain to hurry over and protect him as he fell asleep again. Of course he'd claim he was healing no problem that was, but you still wanted him to be safe while Luffy defeated Buggy.
Luckily Luffy carried him off to your ship as the townspeople chased you off for a misunderstanding, and you could breathe easily to know you all were safe, the orange haired girl named Nami joining you temporarily.
After you checked Zoro's stitches and for any other wounds, you were surprised by Nami offering you to sit with her in the boat she'd stolen, so you didn't have to be alone with two boys. You took her up on it, and she pulled you close to whisper.
"HeyâŚZoro called you his wifeâŚis he legit?"
Your face turned bright red, having already forgotten that because of your quick escape from the town. He really had then, it wasn't just you hearing things.
Was that progress? Would things slowly change and develop for the two of you, could you live as a married pirate couple one day? Have kids even?
Were you getting ahead of yourself? Definitely, considering he'd only said it once and likely wasn't thinking, your assumption due to the possible pain he was still in, even though he would deny it instantly if you even started to ask.
"Umm, hello," Nami snapped her fingers in front of your face, making you shake your head and ask her to repeat what she said, "I asked if Zoro was being honest when he said you were his wife."
You blinked a few times, before finally smiling slightly. "WellâŚtechnically, yes, he's being honest."
Nami didn't let you go back to the boys the rest of your ride to the next island, demanding every detail despite you only knowing each other for a few hours.
It looked like you had a new best friend.
+!+
The events in Syrup Village led to your recruitment of a new member, Usopp, and being given the Going Merry as your first, real ship as a crew. You and Nami spent time learning how the ship worked, Usopp eventually joining you and telling stories that you may have known right off the bat weren't entirely truthful. You did enjoy them though, laughing through them during dinner that night alongside Luffy.
"Soooo," leaning over, you gave Usopp a grin, "Kaya huh? That was a nice little kiss there."
Nami burst into a laugh at how wide Usopp's eyes got, before he started stammering and trying to say something, you grinning even more and asking him what it was like to get a kiss.
"Never had one before so I wouldn't know."
"IâŚitâŚniceâŚit was niceâŚ"
You and Nami started doting on Usopp over it, telling him how he could always write to Kaya and keep in touch that way. The romance talk flew over Luffy's head but he still talked about how nice Kaya was and how tough Kuro had been, while Zoro got more annoyed as it went on, eventually leaving the table after he finished his drink and stepping outside, which you did notice right away.
Downing the last of your own bit of wine, you excused yourself from your friends, heading to the deck and finding Zoro there, leaned against the railing with his eyes closed. Normally you'd assume he was sleeping, but since it'd only been about a minute and you knew he didn't sleep standing up (wouldn't have surprised you though), you knew he was still awake and would talk to you.
"Hey," you joined Zoro against the rail, making him look at you and nod slightly while you tilted your head, "What'd you leave for?"
"Tired."
"Why aren't you in bed then?"
"Who can sleep with all the laughing?"
"Oh please, you almost slept through a tornado once."
"Shut up."
You rolled your eyes but smiled, deciding to look out at sea and watch the waves that gently rocked the ship. You'd anchored for the night in the middle of the sea, Nami placing you on the first watch of the night since you said you weren't tired while most everyone else was. You didn't mind, it'd give you some alone time to watch the stars and think, to enjoy being by yourself as you so rarely got to do lately.
"Have you heard from your parents?"
Zoro's question made you shake your head, him sighing once you did. You'd not gotten a single letter from them, your carrier bird only bringing newspapers from home so you could keep up on how things were going that didn't involve your arranged marriage.
You wondered if they even got your first letter at all at this point.
"Not a thingâŚonly newspapers from home.
"Mm."
"They've still got my picture in it as if I've been kidnapped."
"Maybe they didn't get your letter and the papers."
You shrugged, biting your lip. You wanted to say something about it, tell him you didn't want to do the annulment even if your parents wrote back that the arranged marriage was over, that they accepted your current marriage. You'd rather stay married to him, try a relationship before signing any papers, but you also knew that saying anything like that would likely cause Zoro to shut you out, or tell you how he didn't want to be in a relationship, he didn't want to be married whether he knew of your feelings or not.
He'd probably never return your feelings and you'd have wasted your time instead of just doing the annulment, or divorce if your six months passed without a letter.
But, maybe, you could just tell him how you felt right then, see what his thoughts were and go from there.
Maybe.
"Zoro, Iâ"
"I'm going to bed. Just let me know when you hear anything."
"O-Oh, yeahâŚsure."
Once he left, you sighed and sunk to the ground, wishing you hadn't been such a coward at the moment and asked him to stay so you could actually talk to Zoro about the situation between the two of you. Granted yes, things had moved quickly since you joined Luffy, but still. There were a few times you should have sat down and talked, but every time you wanted to, Zoro was doing something or sleeping. At this rate you figured you'd never get things settled with him.
"Hey, you good?" Usopp popped up beside you, throwing an arm around your shoulders while you just nodded, not saying a word. He didn't fully believe you, taking note of the slight sadness on your face, before he smiled. "Have I told you about the giant sea monster that attacked my village?"
"Don't think so."
"Oh it was a huge beast! At least forty, no fifty feet!"
The rest of your night was spent laughing at more of Usopp's stories on the deck, enjoying yourself and forgetting your worries for the time being.
Zoro had, however, turned back to go talk to you about your sham marriage before he went to bed. The two of you never properly spoke about it after leaving the town you'd married in, but he was sure that you had feelings for him from the way you acted at times. Overly concerned with his well being, you forcing him to rest in Orange Town, the glances you'd take every now and then too. Everything pointed to you having developed feelings for him, and Zoro didn't want that right now.
He didn't want distractions from his goals and didn't want you distracted from yours. He had to put a stop to your feelings then and there, even if all it ended up being was a pause on your end.
He didn't expect, though, for you to be laughing with Usopp when he made it back to the deck, choosing to watch you for a moment. You smiled and laughed again, shoving Usopp on the arm while he grinned and made a large gesture with his hands, likely an exaggeration in whatever story he was telling you. Zoro didn't know why he had such a tight feeling in his chest seeing this, but it was enough for him after a few minutes of neither of you noticing him. He turned around and returned to his hammock, trying to ignore the annoyance he felt when Usopp and Luffy came into the room, Usopp mentioning how fun you were to talk to.
I'm not jealous. Not at all.
