𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠:   We  open  to  Asgard.   The  events  of  ‘Thor  The  Dark  World’  ,  and  Thor  having  gone  to  patrol  the  Nine  Realms  ,  has  left  Asgard  in  the  hands  of  ‘King  Odin’  ,  or  the  Allfather  as  most  know  him  to  be  ,  and  a  suspicious  being  determined  to  find  the  truth.

˚‧⁺ ･˖·✦ ───   𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓  𝐖𝐀𝐒  𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐍'𝐓  𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐀𝐍𝐘  𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄  𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄.   First  ,  there  was  Loki  falling  from  the  Bifrost  ,  she  thought  that  she  had  lost  him.         Left  alone  with  nothing  but  their  children  as  the  memory  of  him.   Truly  thinking  him  dead  ,  the  shock  that  hit  𝒕𝒉𝒆  𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒓𝒆  𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒕  when  Thor  returned  him  home  to  Asgard  was  not  void  in  her  features.   Needless  to  say  when  Thor  had  told  her  that  he  was  dead  𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧  ,  she  hadn't  wanted  to  believe  it.   The  only  reassurance  she  would  use  to  𝒏𝒐𝒕  𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔  𝒕𝒉𝒆  𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒖𝒆  ,         was  that  Thor  had  confirmed  that  he  had  been  holding  him  in  his  arms  when  it  happened.

But  things  still  didn't  quite  feel  …  Right.

Sigyn  had  always  had  a  𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠  𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧  with  Loki.         It  went  passed  the  bond  that  grew  from  years  of  friendship.   The  two  of  them  had  spent  years  together  ,  not  only  being  companions  in  life  ,  but  in  𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒄  𝒂𝒔  𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒍.   Both  of  them  having  𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝  the  other  in  incantations  here  and  there.   She  knew  the  aura  Loki  gave  off  ,         leading  to  her  suspicions  as  she  walked  the  halls  of  Asgard.   It  was  as  though  the  God  of  Mischief  still  walked  the  grand  halls  of  the  Golden  Palace.   She  wasn't  one  to  put  aside  the  theory  of  𝐠𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬  …  but  this  didn't  feel  like  the  hauntings  of  a  loved  one.

This  felt  like  one  of  his  many  many  schemes.

Then  ,  came  the  day  𝑳𝒂𝒅𝒚  𝑺𝒊𝒇  had  been  sent  away.  Banished  for  reasons  that  had  𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝  the  entire  court.   Sif  had  never  done  a  single  thing  to  earn  banishment  from  the  Allfather.         And  the  gears  began  turning  in  her  head  once  more.   Such  a  move  seeming  completely  out  of  character  for  the  stoic  king  ,  it  was  when  he  had  then  sent  Torunn  away  days  later  ,       that  Sigyn  knew  for  sure  that  something  else  was  going  on.   This  wasn't  Odin  banishing  once  loyal  subjects  of  his  realm  in  a  fit  of  paranoia.         This  wasn't  even  Odin  doing  this.

She  had  arranged  for  a  𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠  with  the  ‘Allfather’.   It  wouldn't  have  been  the  𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕  𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆  she  had  met  with  the  King.   Her  gifts  of  foresight  had  been  something  he  found  to  be  𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥.

As  she  was  brought  into  the  throne  room  ,  before  the  Allfather  on  his  𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬  𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞  ,  she  put  on  her  face  for  the  act  she  was  prepared  to  play  ,         for  the  time  being  at  least.

❝  𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤  𝐲𝐨𝐮  𝐟𝐨𝐫  𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐦𝐞  ,  𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫.  ❞   First  ,  a  test.   After  over  one  hundred  years  of  being  joined  together  ,  Loki  was  bound  to  find  it  𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭  to  maintain  his  facade.   Certain  pet  names  that  had  always  been  a  part  of  their  lexicon  for  one  another  ,  and  she  suspected  that  with  each  passing  moment  ,  he  would  find  it  harder  and  harder  to  𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆  𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆  𝒐𝒖𝒕.

Taking  a  slow  but  steadying  breath  ,  she  took  a  couple  𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒇𝒖𝒍  𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒑𝒔  toward  the  throne.   Still  not  getting  so  close  as  to  suggest  she  was  breaking  𝐚𝐧𝐲  𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦  she  had  always  been  known  to  carry.   ❝  𝐈  𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝  𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭  𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐬  ,  𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧  𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭  ,  𝐚𝐬  𝐭𝐨  𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞  𝐨𝐟  𝐭𝐡𝐞  𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬  𝐨𝐟  𝐭𝐡𝐞  𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭  𝐟𝐞𝐰  𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬.  𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞  𝐨𝐟  𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦  𝐡𝐚𝐝  𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧  𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐲  𝐨𝐧  𝐦𝐲  𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭.  𝐈  𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭  𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐬  𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫  𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬  𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭  𝐩𝐮𝐭  𝐢𝐭  𝐚𝐭  𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞.  ❞   There  was  a  𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞  𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞  in  her  voice.   Not  letting  him  see  anything  in  her  except  a  𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒅  𝒂𝒖𝒏𝒕.

Lyra, my beloved cat of 13 years, passed away this year on Father's Day. She's been by my side through very difficult times and was my little rock of steady and unrelenting love. I struggled a lot drawing this, and struggled a lot posting it, but I know I would've wanted to read a comic like this that validated my grief for her when I lost her.
