6 Tips That Are GUARANTEED to Help Make Your Villain More Unsettling!
There's cunty villians, there's over the top villains...but what about a good old villain that just makes your skin crawl? Here are some ways to help you achieve such a character in your own writing (with personal examples of my own :>)
1.) Juxtaposition is Your Friend: I like to say that a nuanced villain is a good villain, but it really works well on the "unsettling" factor when you're finding ways to pit their more amicable side against the side that makes them as deplorable as they might be. Nothing is more disquieting than a villain who gushes about something innocuous, then turns around and summons a wall of quantum dark matter to swallow up a children's nursery in the same breath.
EXAMPLE: The villain in my WIP, Chaos, is a #GirlDad who really does try to make attempts to be a decent father. But, not only is he the founder and head of the world's most prominent blood cult and genocidal terrorist organization, but he perpetually feeds his lackies who disobey him to his blood magic eldritch beast pet, and keeps the heads of his most hated enemies on spikes in his office for "tasteful decoration" and because "the look of terror in their eyes keeps him going through the day."
2.) Radicalize the Things They Love: Hear me out. Everyone, even our baddies, have things they enjoy or might positively be in love with (whether it's tangible or intangible). Another surefire way to ensure your villain ruffles your readers is to take that thing they love, and find a way to blow it up to the most extreme degree.
EXAMPLE: Using Chaos as an example to illustrate what I mean--I mentioned in the previous point that he is a #GirlDad and a relatively devoted one at that despite being a genocidal cult leader. However, he's taken this devotion to his daughter up about 800,000 notches by 1.) Attempting to kidnap her from her mother multiple times over the course of her childhood, 2.) Convincing his entire cult congregation to worship her as a religious "prodigal daughter" figure as he has, and 3.) Setting up the HQ of his cult in the country his daughter was born in (after realizing he can't kidnap her) so he could "be closer to her."
3.) Make a Show of Their Humanity: This all somehow ends up looping back into how nuanced your villain should be, but I think focusing on just how humane you can make a villain at certain points will pile on to their disturbing factor. And I don't just mean little acts of kindness here and there; I mean things that might make you pause and wonder if they're actually a villain. I'll never forget that part of Beastars where the lion yakuza boss was asking Haru how much she liked school and telling her how he held her in "high regard" knowing damn well he was going to kill and eat her within the hour. Things like THAT. Find ways where your villain can be in a position of "they're not so bad" before they turn around and make you realize "oh wait. Yes they are."
EXAMPLE: Chaos is a genocidal maniac with a steel-clad cruelty streak, but one of the key conflicts in my WIP is the relationship he soon develops with his daughter, the protagonist. My protag knows he's deplorable, and knows he's all-powerful and fully capable of committing these atrocious acts against the world she inhabits, yet the pedestal he puts her on leaves her deeply questioning and fighting herself about how she actually feels about him. He goes out of his way to protect her, love her, attempt to be her father (despite some clear obstacles), and just show her such a deep humanity that she struggles to comprehend how he can turn around and be a murderous blood cult leader.
4.) Be Sure Their Presence is Always Felt: Your villain might not always be "on stage" in your story. But, even so, to ensure maximum unsettling factor, you should attempt to find ways to make it seem like they might as well be. They're not physically occupying space on the page, they don't have any direct dialogue, but something is happening that makes it clear that their presence is still being felt. Do they have spies out and about? Are there any residual effects of their previous scheme? Do your characters keep replaying something they said over and over in their heads, and it constantly weighs them down through the story?
EXAMPLE: Before Chaos is even fully introduced as the primary threat of my WIP, his presence is known by all even if they aren't quite aware of it just yet. His cult is the rumored cause of a deadly drug epidemic that has the country of France, and other scattered places across the world, in a chokehold. Nobody really knows if this cult is actually real, and nobody has any leads on how to locate them, just that this drug is causing a lot of issues. Only when shit hits the fan does the protag group actually know what they're dealing with.
5.) Show Your Reader the Absolute Grit of the Fight: By this, I mean, try to find ways to showcase how deep both Team Hero and Team Villain have to go to get at each other. I believe an unsettling villain usually has some form of a methodical approach to their schemes, so with that in mind, show readers the absolute mind games and 4D chess your heroes have to play to even have a chance at coming face to face with your baddie, or even be noticed by them, and how your villain responds in return. Bonus points if your villain immediately catches their drift and pivots, thus wrecking whatever semblance of plans your heroes might have had.
EXAMPLE: It's not quite known until later in the story that Chaos is the big bad, but even before that point, there is a secret organization set in place to hunt him down and knock him out. My protag eventually comes into contact with this org, and discovers the tactical, 4D-chess-esque measures they've had to take to even scratch the surface of figuring out where Chaos is and what his actual motivations are.
6.) Take Your Time in Unveiling the Chokehold They Have on Your World: This might feel like an obvious one if you've read my acting examples, but it's pretty straightforward--don't lay down all your villain's cards from the get go. Give your protagonists time to really dissect and unearth just how powerful your villain might actually be. What might start as a small, maybe almost innocuous little case might slowly but surely evolve into a realization that your protags bit off way more than they could chew, and they're up shit's creek without a paddle. There's a sinking, disquieting "oh my god" moment that might come to your readers as they also realize, along with your protags, that they were only scratching the surface of what your villain was capable of, and now that they've found it, there's no going back.
EXAMPLE: The pure reach that Chaos' little cult actually has isn't felt until my protagonist meets him face to face. Only then does it really dawn on her that the man had so much more power than she, or her team, ever imagined.
As always, happy writing <3

Recently in order to detox after work I've been playing yakuza like a dragon and woooooo its such a step up from yk1,yk2 and y0 the biggest shock for me is how much im enjoying the side missions? previously they felt really flat and goofy but now they are still able to retain that trademark yakuza weirdness but they have a lot of heart too. And idk if im misremembering or if i never paid attention to that but people from the side missions now.... introduce themselves? was that a thing previously? regardless of if it was, now i notice it and it furthers the sense of connection and intimacy in the side missions, like im really helping a "person" and not just "man with glasses" or what have you im also really loving the cinema minigame and the enterprise running minigame, sometimes i dont push the main story for sessions on end because im running a cookie shop......... but its soooo fun! though i will forever miss the dance minigame from y0....... i know i know people hated it! but I LOVED IT!! I love rhythm games and that one was so weird and quirky i havent seen anything like it before. And the songs from y0 were bangers. I used to have y0 on my laptop just so i could pop it open occasionally JUST to play the music game. It was that good for me......... THE KARAOKE IS SHIT! I have no idea why they do nothing to improve the interface (though i gotta admit this one is the best one yet) and it doesnt feel or sound satisfying at all......... also 3 songs at best. And they made the MVs so serious.... i mean its fine ig....... the characters are having an introspective moment........lowkey bakamitai..... but you gotta give me some Judgement swag. Some 24-h Cinderella! Come onnnnnn!! Speaking of things that dont impress me... the game is soooo lowkey sexist it's so eyeroll inducing. Like you KNOwwwWW there were no women in that writers room. There are only two female characters with only real plot importance and when they meet each other they start insulting each other in such a. oh such a specific way that tells you all you need to know "shut you you uggo" "ha ha, don't frown like that or you're gonna get wrinkles!" "you're not pretty when you grimace like that" "you're so old it's surprising you look this good" "watch out or youll get wrinkles and no man will want you!" like. like. head in hands. head in the fucking hands. then again yakuza was never known for its uh "normal" portrayal of women so it's not like i had huge expectations. the funniest part tho was when (spoilers!!) nanba comes back to the team during that one fight and I was thinking "aw! they're a team! they're nakama! hell yeah! the four of them against the world!" AND INSTEAD OF REPLACING HAN JOONGI (antagonist that got added to your team 5 mins ago) SO THAT YOU CAN DEFEAT THE BAD GUY WITH YOUR 4 MAIN GUYS THEY REPLACE SAEKO (the only woman on the roster). I was pissing myself laughing! That's cartoonish!!
the core fighting mechanic is also pretty whatever i'd say. It feels hilarious to me that sometimes I put the game on auto mode so i can scroll my phone or go make tea? a good shouldn't make me want to do that ig. but im thankful they have the auto mode nonetheless
despite the unimpressive aspects the game is just swimming in sauce. It's goofy, it's got heart, there's some fun minigames, the ingame music is made out of some stellar bangers, it all somehow keeps me coming back for more. I want to see how the big intrigue folds out too! the mystery got me good! Also do not. get me started on Zhao. I- listen. LISTEN. He was made for me in a lab ok he is like the perfect. man shaped thing I wanna dip him in milk and throw him against a wall. He would make a beautiful splat sound. Nepo baby discount dollarstore majima bedazzled shoes wearing teenager looking ass!! ARGH!!! ZHAOOOOOO
#NO SPOILERS PLEASE I AM STILL PLAYING#I just saved zhao and nanba just came back i know nothing else#i went to see like 4 movies and Han

Gets me so antsy when people say daigo is a useless character bc like what… how many times has HE saved kiryu bc he shows up and kills the enemy (yakuza 3, yakuza 5) hell even in yakuza 4 daigo is in a lose lose scenario, selling out majima is quite literally his best option. He lost two of his largest and most profitable families (kashiwagi too) after y3. His aim is actually crazy too we’ve seen him shoot a gun out of someone’s hands three times (y3 +y5)!! Like wdym useless!! I fully believe daigos charisma is unmatched when compared to kiryu, yes kiryu inspires people but its only ever been people who are semi close to him, unlike daigo who amasses crowds around him (kiwami 2, y3, mentioned in y4 but yk, y5 and y6 + lad7 and gaiden too).
I really hate when people say kiryu wouldve been a better chairman bc… he was. He was literally chairman. And yk what? He instantly resigned. Sounds like a bad chairman to me idk!!! Don’t even get me started when ppl try to say daigo wasnt involved in the plan for dissolution bc arakawa says daigo allowed him to continue to leak info to aoki “at my request Arakawa played the part of a scheming callous traitor”!!!! , watase says that daigo sought him out to plan it!! Watase was in prison when this was happening like how could he alone come up w this!!! THEY LITERALLY SAY INGAME THAT IT COULDNT HAVE HAPPENED W OUT DAIGO!!!!
Like wdym daigo disappoints kiryu ITS LITERALLY THE OPPOSITE?!?! Kiryu SAYS this himself in y6. “I failed you” “i considered you a son but i never thought to actually stand by your side” “instead of cherishing our time together, i threw it all away. Rejected our bond.”
Literally listing his reasons to why he doesn’t believe his “death” deserves to be avenged.
I think kiryu is a great guy, at worst he’s misguided, under or overestimates others, but he was and would not be a good chairman. Kiryu wasn’t dedicating his life to the Tojo, he wanted to protect his family, but daigo? He says in y4 that hes too prideful to give up his title of chairman, but i think its love, he loves the Tojo clan and his men, in y4 he says he’d do whatever it takes to protect the clan. That’s what makes him such a great chairman!
Daigo dojima… that man that u are… I love u..

“He was laughing hysterically from shock”
No. Fundamentally no. He made a point to watch, and he was hysterically laughing from relief and glee.
Andrew goes to therapy. Neil orders hits on people during dinner. They are not the same.
I’m not saying Andrew doesn’t have issues, he definitely does, he’s violent, anti-social, etc. but he knows how to…Idk, function in the world(?) so much more than Neil does. He existed in a mappable environment – not the same or stable because of foster care and abuse – but he was in the US, one primary language, one primary culture, one country, one set of laws, one set of social normals, there were threads to hold onto to ground himself in reality somewhat. He came out of it severely traumatized with a whole bunch of social and behavioral issues, but he had through-lines. Another difference I would be remiss not to name is Andrew entered foster care at birth, he’d never had a home until South Carolina. He was unwanted, intensely abused from the age of 7, if not younger. Like it’s the foster care system, we know what that’s like in the US. He had 12 different foster homes by age 13, and says none of them were good. Was the victim of at 4 child rapists. At 13/14 he goes to juvie (a juvenile detention center) which prison industrial complex and for-profit penitentiaries. During his time in juvie he tells his uncle about the child-rapist at his last foster home and is told he’s wrong, it was a “misunderstanding” and just brotherly-love. At 14/15 he gets early parole and comes to live with him biological-mother and identical twin brother only to discover she’s physically abusing his brother and they’re both addicted to and on drugs. He takes a year to plan killing his mother before staging a car crash (that could have killed him too) at 15/16. He is temporarily placed with his CSA-denying uncle and aunt along with his brother after this. Somehow his brother knows the crash was intentional and hates him for it. His weird-ass 18/19 y-o cousin he’s never met and who there are no photos of comes rolling in from Germany, takes over guardianship, gets them a house, etc. Andrew finally has a supportive figure in a safe environment, said figure is only like 3 years older than him (and he’s gay too). This cousin helps him do the incredibly dangerous act of cold-turkeying his brother off drugs. When Andrew’s 17 his cousin is physically attacked, it’s unknown how bad it could have gotten, by 4 homophobes – Andrew steps in and nearly beats the 4 adult men to death as a 5-foot high schooler. He has prior conviction and juvie stay, the courts deem his behavior in defense of his cousin disturbingly violent and is put on INTENSELY mind-altering drugs by the court. He doesn’t manage to find a non-shit mental health provider for two years (relatable), but then he finds a good one in Betsy Dobson. A coach offers to sign his, his brother, a cousin to be college athletes and he agrees to support them. During his first year of a dude comes to his school, tells him the sport he plays is tied to the yakuza, the second-son who’s supposed to be his bestie is actually a violent mad-man who just shattered this dude’s hand and begs for protection. During his second year an interesting guy joins who’s full of secrets and lies but hot, he’s also somehow liked to this yakuza mess. Also in Andrew’s second year he gets raped by a guy who did that to him when he was a kid, then is sexually assaulted at the facility that’s taking him off his scary meds. He comes out to discover hot-guy looking like he’s been tortured, has a sport-cult tattoo, new hair, and showing his natural eyes. Etc. Etc. He has a weird thing about deals and pathological insistence on their being held, and for example is abusive-levels of controlling to his brother as part of one of those deals. He’s known to drug people, physically assault people (he hits Matt, nearly destroys Allison’s shoulder, throws Katelyn into a wall), pulls knives and it’s implied he’s used them on people. And despite people’s perceptions He’s The More Normal One.
Then there’s Neil. It’s unclear if he went to school before age 10? Regardless his home life from birth-10 was a wild ride. He was trained to use guns, as well as knives (up to and including on dead animals) starting in single-digit-ages. His father and his father’s people serially killing and torturing people his whole life, he was raised with criminal enterprise as the norm. His only outlet/joy was exy and he went there with armed bodyguards under a pseudonym. In the span of 24-hours at the age 10: he played exy with new people, watched his father performatively flay a man (he doesn’t seemingly didn’t find it odd that Kevin and Riko watched), and then his mother took him on the run. He then spent 8 years on the run with people trying to kill him, his mom, and his mom’s contacts, went through 16 countries, had 22 different names/aliases (because there was more than just a name there were backstories as Neil Josten proved). At 18 he notes it had “been years since he had been directly responsible for someone’s death” so there’s a possibility he killed someone as a minor. The altercation in Seattle would not have been the first in 8 years on the run. “teach me how to fight” my ass. His physically and verbally abusive mother was his only through point beyond reading about (and maybe watching videos of?) the sport he loves and those kids from when he ran who turned into stars. And then his mother died, he burns her corpse in the car, buries her bones in a backpack on that beach, before hitchhiking for days to another state to live another alias life, alone. He trades the support line of his mother for a sport he’s obsessed with and attends high school for the better part of a year with no substantive human relationship that we’re aware of. He sniffs cigarettes during this time because it reminds him of burning his mother’s corpse, and still stalks those two boys from when he was 10. Then he joins a college sports team, decides he’s only going to live for a year, antagonized a second-son of an organized crime family, said-second-son has a teammate killed which doesn’t phase Neil besides angering him, the Andrew entanglement, playing at socially normal while being very cagey and abnormal, he doesn’t get to be the one to murder Andrew’s rapist and wants the racket back because he doesn’t care it’s a murder weapon, gets tortured for 2/3weeks for his crush, ignores a countdown for months, still thinks he’s gonna die by summer, gets kidnapped and tortured by his dad/dad’s people, watches his estranged uncle murder his dad and is fucking thrilled, shares truths and lies with the FBI being an absolute nuisance. He also manipulates the new head of the yakuza branch into killing his brother (the memory of which Neil will later relish), while also negotiating for a stay-of-execution for himself and two others. He almost gets killed (again) but then gets to watch that annoying second son get shot and celebrates by making out with Andrew. Flash forward and he is again manipulating the FBI, having dealings with his British Mafia uncle, pulling Jean’s poor soul into it, and also ordering a hit on Jean’s rapist. He Is Decidedly Not Normal.
personally I’m torn on if he was homeschooled or public schooled because public school keeps up airs of normalcy while homeschooling allows for control and monitoring, though his going to school on the run implies he was in school but Idk thoughts?
A line from a fanfiction I’ve read (that I do not remember the name off the top of my head, I’m so sorry) is Nickey asking “who’s humanizing whom in that relationship?” And it’s so real. They’re humanizing each other but neither has a real baseline to orbit them towards.
Hey so it's actually batshit crazy that the upperclassmen (other than Renee probably) still think that Andrew is the crazy/fucked up one in the relationship when this was Neil's internal monologue.
Like he's really sat in the back of a COP CAR, covered head to toe in bandages due to the FRESH TORTURE WOUNDS he's currently sporting, and he's just destressing by daydreaming about his father's death THAT HE WITNISSED AND WAS FUCKING LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY ABOUT AFTERWARDS.

Is it me or both yashiro and doumeki are trying to rebuild their relationship by understanding eachother while maturing as individuals?
Good observation, it definitely seems that way! I think some parts of their maturation was unintentional, and just a natural consequence of experience and time. In the 4 years they were apart, Yashiro became impotent, while Doumeki joined another yakuza group, and as a result both of them developed some new beliefs and values. I spend a lot of time writing about those unintentional changes, but not a lot about how Yashiro and Doumeki are consciously trying to better understand each other— that’s a really interesting question, so I’m glad you brought it up.
It’s come to my attention recently that Doumeki has been purposefully repressing his sexuality out of guilt. Because of that, D never tried to take his clothes off and lovingly have sex with Yashiro, because he knows that won’t help him rebuild their relationship. Nevertheless, Doumeki HAS been putting pressure on Yashiro by asking him things like, “could it be you want to be treated gently,” & “you have Inami, don’t you,” & “you wanted me to do this, that’s why you chose me, right?” & "why do you resist when it's me?" It seems like Doumeki has learned that he needs some kind of verbal confirmation before he goes ahead and loves Yashiro with all his heart (🥺) and treats him the way he deserves to be treated. Side note, but Doumeki will have a hard time trying to get a confession out of Yashiro, who has total abandonment issues, without showing any emotions or yearning. Either Doumeki needs to have a slip up in his passivity, or Yashiro’s gonna have to figure out that Doumeki’s anger and worry are for his sake. But anyways, it seems like this time around, Doumeki doesn’t want to just assume that Yashiro “wants it,” until Yashiro tells him, so yes, Doumeki is definitely trying to understand what Yashiro wants *chapter 45 war flashbacks*
As for Yashiro trying to understand Doumeki… I think he desperately wants to, but he’s having a hard time with it. It seems like Yashiro believes Doumeki is harassing him as retribution for leaving him behind back then. I think it's important to remember that Yashiro has really low self-worth, and can't even imagine a person like Doumeki would still hold feelings for him, especially after what Yashiro did 4 years ago. To Yashiro's credit, and as a major sign of maturation, he continues to keep an open mind and use every bit of information to try to decipher Doumeki’s true intentions. Yashiro isn't pulling away and he's not giving up as easily as in the past. He even asks Doumeki those uncomfortable questions (“why did you volunteer Kamiya”), when it took him like 20 years to ask Kageyama the same thing (“why did you choose Kuga”). I think it’s also notable that Y spent so much time justifying why he kicked Doumeki out of their group in his meeting Tsunakawa, Muraji, Doumeki, and Kamiya— @neartheeasternfence said it was an apology (as close to an apology that Yashiro can do lol), which I agree with. Yashiro doesn't want Doumeki to hate him (anymore)
Yashiro is struggling with his desires and his self-hate. He realizes he’s acting strange and longing for Doumeki, but his negative self-perception is clouding his understanding of Doumeki. Is Doumeki harassing him as payback, or is there more to his behaviour? All the things Yashiro must reconcile with are Doumeki’s insistence that he had no hidden reason to drive Yashiro home, Doumeki’s admitted (heterosexual) relationship, Doumeki framing their sex-agreement as business only (to keep Inami off their case), Doumeki volunteering Kamiya to guard Y, and Kamiya’s comment that D’s been in a bad mood since they reunited. Ofc Doumeki is only doing this to protect Yashiro psychologically and physically, but Yashiro has no clue because he doesn’t see himself as someone worth protecting. Therefore, I think the next logical step is for Yashiro to realize that Doumeki is protecting him.

Tokyo Soul 5 I want to die (/j)
parts 1/2/3/4
this time i will attempt to summarize more than one episode. i mean, i could do them back to back but i will try to condense them. so uh, it will probably fail. but who knows?
update: am live reacting with my friend mochi so hopefully this will work
update 2: onion and echo joined!
update 3: theyre all gone :(
This has episodes 5-8 summarized
ep 5:
the episode is called creepy teacher, and for good reason. his classroom is dimmed and he calls his students his subjects. there are also mushrooms growing. what the fuck. THERE ARE ASLO CHAINS HANGING FROM THE CEILING AND THE TEACHER HAS A THRONE
why is he asking them to repeat all of their medical records out loud wtf wtf i do not feel safe. to see if theyre appropriate candidates
Sam's medical record: Blood type B, 5'9', likes crayons, (allegedly) an iq of 250
Taurtis' medical record: "I have had my memory repeatedly lost, I've had amnesia multiple times, I've been stabbed in the abdomen, I've broken my legs by jumping off a building before, i've been shot in the shoulder, and, um, I think that's about it." (okay buckaroo no need to go all out)
The teacher does not think they are appropriate candidates
WE DONT GET DOMS MEDICAL RECORD NOOO
i think that speaks for itself
the teacher is now agressively sniffing taurtis, rambling about a certain smell. He then says, ominously to taurtis, "oh..... yeah. you're the one." i am scared for taurtis.
He (the teacher, who's name is Proffessor Geode Rocks,) says that "[he] did it" and "now my plan will finally be a success" and then, to Taurtis, "you will make me proud." AND HE TAKES A SAMPLE OF TAURTIS' DNA
WAIT IS THAT IGBAR VON SQUID FROM THE FIRST EPISODE? anyway (OH MY GOD IT IS)
Prof. Geode screams about world domination and then the bell rings. that's the end of their first day of school. i am scared, and awaiting my grain boy
the boys now have to do their makle-up laps LLL LL LL L
nevermind, she lets them off because tehyre new. kay then hot lady- i mean uh u h uh gym teacher helana
in reference to the shcool, everyone agrees that they dislike it, and taurtis says that hes never felt so unsafe in his life. damn. not even during the yakuza shootout? okay damn
WHY ARE THEY GOING BACK INTO THE GIRLS LOCKER ROOM
WHY ARE THEY GIVING THE OLD GUY PANTIES EW EW EW EW EW I HATE THAT MAN
WHY IS THE OLD MAN AT THEIR HOUSE WTF

Sam falls asleep and the episode ends.
Episode 6:
HOT DOM FANART i am okay with this (but seriously wtf)
taurtis fell outside asleep standing outside of sams door. he did this on the high dive too. guess he just has those pro gamer skills
Sam entices Taurtis awake with sushi "because [he] is japanese" and Taurtis awakes saying "That's racist!" we love taurtis in this house
GRIAN LORE he went to the wrong tokyo. the one in canada. how does that even happen. OH MY GOD THEYRE PICKING HIM UP FROM THE TRAIN STATION

THEY JUST CALLED A MAN A BURN VICTIM TO HSI FACE OKAY THEN
IGBAR VON SQUID MAKES A RETURN LETS GO
dom climbed a water tower. i just think that's neat.
SAm's mom texted. Sam has a mom? Since when?
Grian is suspicious of the old man. good.
A girl named "Yee" approaches the boys outside and calls one of them hottie. refusing to elaborate, all but grian argue over who she thinks.
Grian says "this school is definetly an upgrade" then immediately takes it back as they round a corner and find one of Senor Loro's DECAPITATED GOATS
Grian does not wrestle Senor for his schedule. okay.
nevermind.
...why is the.. WHY IS THE OLD MAN DRESSED AS A SCHOOL GIRL.
Grian is not fooled, but Sam and Taurtis are. They want Grian to talk to "her". Oh my god. Grian is creeped out by the fact the old man said that he has nice legs (he did.) so sam and taurtis go in for him. wow. was not expecting that. NO. GRIAN NO DONT GO OVER THERE WITH THEM
Sam: "Grian, you like girls right?" Grian: *no hesitation* "No i'm into dudes." Me: YO
its revealed ellen was his gay awakening we love that for them
okay so the episode ends with everyone heading into teacher tori's room. i think ill do one more.
ep 7:
Teacher Tori has Grian introduce himself, and Sam and Taurtis peer pressure him into telling the "rooftop story"
IGBAR VON SQUID AND GRIAN ARE FRIENDS LETS GO BABEY
Sam punches a girl for being late and TEACHER TORI CALLS HIM OUT AND TELLS HIM TO STOP LETS GO BABEY AND SHE SAYS BULLYING ISNT NICE OH MY GOD AN ACTUAL SUPPORTIVE ADULT WHAT IS THIS
no rooftop story :(
bruh sam reminded Tori of their homework bruh cringe
Tori takes them fishing
another goat is found dead in the girl's locker room. bonus: grian does not want to go into the girls locker oom. smart wheat boy.
their fishing rods sound like guns. okay then.
the bell rings and the old man disguised as a girl is stalking them. Sam jokes that he's grians girfriend despite grian literally saying he was gay smh
okay i was testing out my new copic markers with my new sketchook and i missed the fact that sam took like 13 fishing rods wtf
Grian now introduces himself to Dr's class. why is he asking grian to say hes a boyman. what. grian refuses, even when dr threatens him with an F. he finally relinquishes.
dr is now calling grian mr boyman AND OH NO THEYRE TALKING ABOUT THE FOOD PYRAMID OH NOOOOO ;pian; they have to go on a scavenger hunt or smth idk
grian says he kinda sucks as a teacher AND I AGREE POP OFF GIRAN
the prize is a free for life subscription to hunter x hunter on god theyre all anime boys im dead
IM SOBBING THE INOCRRECT MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY HAS ME ROLLINGIN M GRAVE
i removed my description of the scene from 17:54 to 19:40 due to some real DISGUSTING shit going on. it's all potty humor but god... grian throws up twice and please do not subject yourself to that scene i will never recover like i think ive actually been nauseated from this holy shit please do not watch this
grian is now telling the principal that his staff choices are shit and i say pop off grian
Grian failed and got Dr a raise. I am personally on grian's side :( and he got detention :d
Grian drops a SICK ROAST on Dr and gets more detention im very amused
everyone filmed that lmao
apparently grian is triggered by bad teachers. okay then. i stand for this tbh
grian is getting wrassled bc hes a cool kid ig (this is just how senor loro rolls. i am concerned.)
sam is tagged in by grian and wins the fight. that was honestly 10/10 fight scene lmao.
apprently that was the detention. that's nice? maybe?
taurtis breaks the news that another of senor loro's goats was found missing in the girls bathroom, and it is revealed that more are going missing. senor assigns the trio to finding the goats.
senor loro gives them a "crystal of Tenochtitlan," one each, and they are appearntly ancient artefacts of aztec descent. I am scared. OH MY GOD THEY ALLOW PEOPLE TO TALK TO ANIMALS? WHAT? damn those aztecs were crazy. These crystals should help them find the goats and (hopefully) the goat killer
Grian says that outside of "wrassling," senor loro is a nice guy. I have to agree, considering he offered them anything from the vending machine on the out for lunch. 10/10 guy (so far)
the episdoe ends with the trio exiting the wrassling ring. i'm gonna do the next episode because i really want to see grian's medical record lmao
ep 8:
on god more epic fanart. honestly sam is a shit guy but its nice of him to include fanart :/ at least imo
Yee makes a return. The boys commit a scientific experiment to see who she likes. She says "come here bab" and Sam steps forward. he is not the one, she called him ugly. lmao. Dom confidently runs up to her. Not sure if Yee thinks hes ugly all i know is she was probably scared by his rapid approach. Taurtis steps forward. She calls him a tater tot. it is not him. THAT MEANS ITS GRIAN?? ITS GRIAN. LMAO YEE NO HES GAY
she took off her glasses and i gotta say. one hot lady. (yep shes definetly a lizard person)
Grian runs away and i honestly understand. i guess shes gonna be a creepy stalker now. poor grian.
dr offers them ointment for their eyes. if not a great teacher, hes certainly a funny man.
they go to gym AND THE OLD MAN IS THERE I AM UGHH and Sam jokes that he's grian's girlfriend. Grian I am so sorry.
"This girl is kinda like a fourty year old dude if you ask me." LMAO GRIAN IM DEAD
IS THAT SANS UNDERTALE? WHY IS HE IN GYM?? okay ig
For gym class there is parkour divided into a red "GIRLS" side and a blue "STUPID BOYS" side. I'm starting to think Gym teacher Helena likes girls a bit more than boys /s. also the boy's side seems to be a lot harder than the girls.
DOM IS A PARKOUR PRO (we should know this, considering he climbed a watertower) GO DOM
The girls win (obviously) but the boys made a good effort. The bell rings, and it's off to. It's off to Geode's class. please let grian read his medical record please please please
Taurtis is made to sit in a special cahir by Geode's... throne. I am scared for Taurtis
Sam is given bucket and... has to milk... Dom... uhm... yeah...
Sam cant figure out how to do it so Geode "does it" AND OH MY GOD THERE IS MILK IN THE BUCKET jesus fuck
WHAT THE FUCK GEODE CLONED TAURTIS
apparently geode has a "people" and Taurtis will do great thigns for them. what the fuck wtf wtf
Geode notices Grian, cannot understand his accent, thinks england is another planet, and calls Grian strange. I think Geode is an alien.
Geode did some research on Sam. apparently he has an army. geode will join him. what the fuck. NEVRMIND HE THOUGHT SAM WAS GREAT UNCLE SAM IM DEAD BRO THIS IS HILARIOUS creepy af BUT HILARIOUS WTF
class ended. NO GRIAN MEDICAL RECORD AAIJHFE :pian:
The video fades out with them trying to dom out of the test tube with him.. getting... yeah. by Geode. im scarred. for life.
anyway i'm gonna end part 5 here it is very long and there was no grian medical record :(

Can we get a Fuyuhiko NSFW alphabet up in here? Your writing is SO good!
YES MY LIL KINGGGGGG I hope you love!!
TW:// mention of weapons (knives and guns)
A (Aftercare) lots of kisses and snuggles. He’s always super gentle and caring for you after, bc he doesn’t want you to be too sore from him. Back rubs, playing with your hair, just very touchy.
B (fave body part) he’s a chest guy. Regardless of gender btw. He doesn’t mind how big or small your chest is, he just loves to grab it and kiss it.
C (cum) he’s good at controlling himself, so he only cums once, but god is it well earned and built up. And there’s a lot.
D (dirty Secret) before you two officially started dating he would masturbate and think of you. He’s even accidentally moaned your name while somebody else was giving him a hand job.
E (experience) even though other people have given him hand jobs, up until he met you he was still a virgin. He’s gotten jerked off, and he’s used his hands on others before as well, but he’s never gone all the way.
F (favorite Position) anything if you’re facing him. He wants to be able to touch grab and kiss you.
G = (Goofy?) does he try to be? No way. Is he? Oh yes. The two of you have bumped heads and fumbled around and you laugh all the time. Which does tend to embarrass him some, but you always reassure him you love him.
H = (Hair) Fuyuhiko typically doesn’t shave or trim. He typically doesn’t care either way with you, but if he plans on going down on you he asks you to shave a little bit
I = (Intimacy) he isn’t the most intimate but he does try to communicate with you during sex. “You’re doing so good” “I love how you take all of daddy’s dick so easily” “you’re my little cum slut aren’t you?” Sorry I got carried away
J = (Jack Off) All the time. He purposely does it in rooms he knows you’ll be in so that you “catch” him and offer to help.
K = (Kink) bondage, knife play. He loves to tie you up, and loves to cuff you and bind you. He also likes knives. He’ll never cut you, but he’ll hold the blade to your skin so you feel the cold metal against you. He also loves to cut your shirts off of your body.
L = (Location) bedroom or bathroom, but typically in bed. Although if you ever suggest shower or tub sex, he’ll eagerly join you.
M = ( Motivation) he’s obsessed with lingerie. Show off your skin while you’re all dressed up down just for him. Also, call him your king. He’ll get a boned then and there.
N = (NO) the knife play, which was your idea, is the scariest thing he’ll do. He’s a Yakuza after all. He would hate to accidentally hurt you especially after what he does all day long.
O = (Oral) he isn’t the biggest fan of oral typically, although he knows you love it so he plans on doing it to you every once in a while.
P = (Pace) Fuyuhiko moves fast and deep. He loves bottoming you out and making you moan and whimper in pleasure, unable to even use your words.
Q = (Quickie) that’s complicated. He loves foreplay and makes sure it lasts for a while, but sex can be over within 20 minutes or so some of the time. Not a super quick quickie, but ya know. He also has come home from a tough day and you’ve had super quick shower sex.
R = (Risk) not unless you ask. Like the knife play, which was your idea, he would never do anything that could result in you getting hurt somehow.
S = (Stamina) not horribly long. Usually 30 minutes - an hour. He’ll always make you cum at least 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 times, whereas he usually only cums once towards the end.
T = (toy) he likes using vibrators inside you. He wants to watch you beg for him to take it out and just fuck you.
U = (Unfair) FUYUHIKO IS A TEASE TEASE TEASE!!! He literally does anything he can to get you to beg for him.
V = (Volume) LOUD. he moans, screams, dirty talks, grunts with every single thrust he makes- he’s always cursing under his breath too.
W = (Weird fact) he’s thought about bringing his UNLOADED gun into the bedroom before, because he knows you like the knife play, but it makes him nervous even though he knows he’d be extra careful and unload it before hand. He just doesn’t want to risk hurting or scaring you more than you agree too.
X = (X-Ray) Man, he might be short and small but his dick sure isn’t. Fuyuhiko is much bigger than average at about 9 inches. And he tries to get every inch of it inside of you.
Y = (Yearning) he honestly isn’t too horny most of the time. It’s usually after a really long day where he comes home and just needs to let go when he really wants you.
Z = (ZZZ) Fuyuhiko will always lay in bed with you after, but honestly, he’s just cuddling you. He typically turns on TV or a video on his phone and watches it while you lay together. Takes him roughly 2-4 hours before he even tries to sleep.

okie okie here we go!!!! 🐠 btw there is like BARELY a gap between all of them lol, they’re all beloved to me
1. ollie - IM SORRY i had to choose the white man, bc im so attached and connected with ollie more than any other mainstream hero. he resonates so deeply with me in a lot of ways, and i find his stories are often very engaging and interesting to think about (not you ga 2023). i feel like love is such an important aspect of him and what he fights for.
2. lian - i think about lian everyday im not even joking, she’s like a sibling to me atp. i think sooo much about how instead of dying, she could’ve spent all these years being loved and trying to be a hero just like her dad, and living up to ideals and aaaaaa, she was literally the one thing keeping me going with ga 2023, her having a cat motif is everything to me
3. connor - he IS so special for so many reasons, and i feel like he embodies the traits of a superhero in such a realistic way?? with his childhood anger issues, lack of father figure, his promise to his mom, and the way he steps up to take on the title of GA and continue on the legacy even after losing the father he’d just met eeeeeeee, i don’t talk abt him often bc like tbh content here is lacking and im lazy, but maybe ill change that.
4. roy - he’s lian’s father so on principle i gotta love him (IM KIDDING). roy is also soooo special and i partially love him out of spite because DC clearly seems to have a weird vendetta against him and his happiness. he is so loving, so strong, so accomplished, and so much more than what they label him as. i also love his really out-there personality, but he’s also VERY down to earth, and he’s just so aaaaaa <333. he’s not perfect but he tries his best, and he puts lian before everything and that makes my traumatized-by-father heart melt. and i HATE how ableist all of his weird jayr*y fans are as well as dc, it makes me wanna pull him out of the pages and gatekeep.
5. shado - free this woman from the racist writing AND her entire yakuza life!! she has SO MUCH potential bro, but aside from that, she’s so badass and i love her personality and i loved her og interactions with ollie, and im ngl it makes zero sense for her to forcibly want a baby from him when she KNOWS her lifestyle sucks and she’s trapped in it bc of intergenerational trauma herself, anyways shado deserves better fr
6. mia - I LOVE MIA. i really do!!! i find however that i’m more inclined to loving her when i don’t really interact with fandom posts about her. mia is so so so so <3. literally one of the first teenage girl characters i could connect with. her story is so horrible but she is such a bright light for me, and she is a joy to draw and write about. similarly to ollie, i think love is such a huge part of her! she’s kind of low tho, bc i find that a lot of her really loud fans never have anything to say about the arrowfam poc. like obviously it’s fine to stan mia, but it’s really telling to me when you make all your content about the skinny blonde white girl.
7. jade - her YJ version is in my kin list LMAO, and i need to read more of her comic appearances, but from what i’ve seen, she literally carries the arrow trademark of “pushes away from loved ones, doesn’t believe she has a happy ending” and that kills me so much. she is a really complex woman who’s suffered from racist writing, and i love that unlike talia and shado who are like more gentle souls, jade is a hardcore bitch lmfao. she loves roy and her daughter and some of the secret six, and that’s it.
8. cissie - it’s been a longggg time since i read cissie appearances, but i remember enough to know why i like her. her story of maternal abuse literally rips my heart out, i think her character background is so perfect, and her storyline with retiring was really well done (from what i remember). personality wise, she’s more of a girly girl and so am i lmaooo, so she’s quite relatable to me. i like that she wasn’t perfect and she had plenty of catty, jealous, moments to show bc like that’s so realistic for a girl raised to be #1 her whole entire life. i wish for cissie to have a girlfriend or three and live peacefully. and i’m a BIG fan of her being ollie’s kid bc that’s hilarious even if it isn’t realistic lol. she’s just low on here bc she’s not quite an arrowfam member on page, more like a separate party but yeah
9. emi - im sorry bby, i love you and all your potential but it’s marred quite a bit bc your backstory was a retcon, you replaced mia, and you haven’t gotten a chance to really shine outside of shitty writing in a long time. i think emi also has a lot of “edgy teen raised by villain” stereotypical traits given already to damian, so it’s a little hard to see her as a fully original character sometimes. the emi in my head is way cooler, more gnc, and has more personality other than “vaguely annoyed all the time.” emi also deserves way better than to just be the bitchy badass girl in that weird titans run. i would give her more friends besides them and expand more on her relationship with her mom (one of the things i do like). i still love her tho!!!
10. dinah - this is what’s gonna cancel me. i AM SORRY I LOVE DINAH SO MUCH but this is also another case of a character’s weird ass racist anti feminist writing ruins them for me. like the dinah in my head is AWESOME AND FLAWED AND TRYING. but canon dinah is like so intertwined with shitty ass performative feminism and being victim-blamey and abusive towards ollie that i like can’t handle it lmao. i think she’s a really complex woman if given justice and better writing with BOP and such, but yeah. bombshell dinah + movie dinah = best dinah ever imo.
11. sin - i love sin. this has nothing to do with sin as a child. but her story writing is so fucking racist and ooc for dinah lmfao, i’ve been pretending it never happened until the start of this year pretty much. i’m sure there’s a way to write around it, but if we keep it as is, i abhor everything about it pretty much. which SUCKS bc sin is so adorable and i loved her appearances. but again idk it felt weird to push dinah into that motherly role (already weird with mia lol), so idkkkk.
12. eddie - don’t get me wrong i love this man, he’s just not like part of the fam fam you know, and i need to rebuts on ga vol 2 soon, but just know: trashy cia person with shitty morals but trying to do good is one of the best character tropes. y’all call him a rat man, but you gotta actually stick by it. it’s more than him being gay for ollie (which he is), or more than being a dad to connor (also so true), give me him doing weird sketchy shit.
honorable mention to hal, who i’d place somewhere in the lower half bc he’s not a fave but he’s very enjoyable as an arrow and you can tell he loves them very much. moonday is also somewhere in the middle!!!
and uh i’m ngl sienna still doesn’t even have a last name, like i like her, i just don’t have much of an opinion lol.
what if i revealed my personal arrowfam rankings (not in skill, just how much i like them)
#arrowfam#i’m ready for the mob with torches#it looks BAD at the bottom but i swear i still love them#just not their canon selves

Also this chapter has no smut but the rest of the work does
“We all know what you and Majima-san get up to you behind the closed doors” the lieutenant of a small family said out loud as you collectively waited patiently for the officers meeting to be finished.
You were there with a calm, level headed, expression. Your eyes fixed on the painting on the other side of the hallway as you stood by for Majima to either be told to leave or for him to walk out on his own terms when it got too boring.
“It’s no wonder a newbie was able to be promoted so quickly in their family,” another snide comment from a different lieutenant, once again from a smaller family but a family that was getting too big for its britches, “sleep with the patriarch and you’re sure to move up in the world.” A couple of them laughed as you took a deep breath in, your calm composure falling ever so slightly as a sensitive topic was touched upon.
It was true that you had moved up quickly within the ranks of The Majima family but you hadn’t gotten to where you are now by sleeping with Majima himself. He had always seen how diligently you had worked, sticking to The Yakuza ideals and always keeping a level head when doing your work. Right now, however, you did not have to work, there was no reason to keep these low-level lieutenants happy with you, or the family you belonged to, as you thought of that your hand slowly slipped into the back of your suit and grasped the dagger that was tucked away, ‘always for safe keeping’ Majima would say to you. This, however, did not mean to keep it safe, but to keep you safe, always.
“Gotta admit” the one who had spoken up first walked towards you, a cocky smirk on his face as he strode towards where you were patiently stood, hidden dagger in hand. “Someone who’s so good at keeping level headed does suit Majima-san the most, like that Nishida guy, gotta keep someone calm to balance out the craaaazyyy” his last few words had been drawn out in a mocking manner, a hand raised to his right temple and jokingly twirling in the air to represent his words.
As the other men laughed you pulled out your dagger, grabbed his hand, and turned the tides, pinning his face down against the wall where you had previously stood while twisting his arm and pressing the dagger against his neck. “Mock me all you like,” you whispered into his ear as the other men gasped, “but mock Majima-sama and we have serious problems,” you pushed the dagger further into his skin, a slither of blood dripping down the blade as he swallowed his pride, along with his saliva, “I don’t think your family would survive against ours, would they?” Your tone was one of feigned ignorance, calm and inquisitive as you asked the quivering coward simple questions. “Perhaps you should think before picking a fight with someone you can’t handle, particularly me and Majima-sama, hm?”
Before your victim could reply the door swung open and Majima came into view, his brow furrowed and an angry glare emanating from his good eye. Immediately you stood back, placed your hands firmly at your sides and bowed to greet him.
“Sir! I wasn’t-“
“It’s nothing Seiko-kun, musta deserved it. What’d he do?” A small grin made its way to Majima’s lips as he admired your devotion, he knew you only got that way when someone had insulted him, or the family, personally.
“Nothing that concerns you, Majima-sama , believe me-“ you glared over at the guy and held up your dagger to him once more, “it’s not worth your precious time” you placed the dagger back into its sheath and hid it behind your back once more
“No sir!” The lieutenants bowed as an apology before Majima shrugged and began walking down the hall.
“If ya say so, let’s go Seiko-kun” Majima began walking away and you followed closely behind, your eyes upfront and calm as you made your way out of Tojo HQ and into the car, you in the driver's seat and Majima behind.
A couple of minutes had passed in silence, both of you enjoying the calm of each other's company as you focused on the road and Majima focused on you. His eye bore a hole into the back of your head and you saw it every time you checked behind the car in the mirror, but you chose to say nothing. He was obviously in a bad mood from the meeting, him escaping partway through with a scowl was enough to tell you that, but usually there was chatter in the car as you rode back to the office.
“So what happened?” Majima broke the silence after a couple minutes of staring out of the window, he must have grown bored with the passing cars.
“They said things I didn’t agree with”
“Like?"
“Do you really need to know?”
“Now,” Majima tutted as a smile made its way back to his face, a finger pointed up and waving side to side, “is that any way to treat your boss?”
“Tch-“ you looked back in the mirror and saw his smirk before moving your eyes back to the road, you hated how he knew your weaknesses, “they said we were sleeping together, and that was the only reason I had been so successful, and so quick, with my promotions in the family”
“Ohh, no wonder you were so harsh on ‘em, I woulda been, too” Majima leaned back and looked out of the window as he crossed his leg, his right ankle on his left knee and his lightly hands resting on the inner of his thighs. “Having your achievements pinned on something you didn’t do that woulda been a lot easier, sure as shit ain’t nice to hear- ah- I didn’t mean it like that-“
Knowing Majima had your back always brought a smile to your, usually calm, face. A small display of emotion that was usually kept hidden, on show just for him. “I know what you mean, don’t worry about it, to be honest, I would have slept with you if I could but you were always so damn busy”
“Oh? You woulda?” Majima’s gaunt cheeks reddened a little as he looked over at you, smirking and staring at him in the mirror, “oh- you’re joking” he rolled his eyes and sighed looking back to the window at the passing cars.
“You got really happy at that Majima-sama, something you wanna tell me?”
“Eat shit”
You sat there staring at each other through the mirror as the car sat at a red light before bursting into fits of laughter
The light turned green and you drove off towards the office once again, the last few minutes sat in a happy silence between you both, appreciating the content atmosphere you had cultivated with Majima. Your eyes often wandered back to the mirror to watch him in his small and comfortable world, one of the few places he could let his guard down a little before heading back into his role as Patriarch and Senpai to the family, plus his jacket did nothing to cover himself and you did so enjoy watching him breathe.
“We're here, sir” you said before stepping out of the car and opening his door for him, once more bowing as he exited.
“Thanks Seiko-kun” Majima smiled at you before walking to the doors, hands in pockets and his guard back up once more in the characteristic sway of his hips. You stood and watched him walk away amongst his family members who were all bowed with their head low to greet their patriarch, and you. Another member ran up to you and bowed as you stood aside to let him take over the car and park it in The Family’s usual spot.
The feeling of walking amongst your peers as their captain was still a strange one, while you had filled in the role easily and commanded their respect it was still very alien to you being their commander. Listening to the shallow breathing of the men at your side as you walked past calm and collected, sticking to the Yakuza code and showing them the amount of respect you were supposed to, was rough and something you had never fully agreed with. These men were willing to die for Majima and the family, the same way you would, and probably will, and not being able to show all of them what that means to both you and Majima was insulting. A code that doesn’t value the people who uphold it, not just the top brass who are in charge but those grunts who do the hard work, is a code that will die. It was inevitable.
As you came to the doors you looked back at the men, still bowing low and waiting for you to enter the building, and then down at the pin on your lapel. A familiar, warm feeling spread through your chest as you felt the comfort of your found family before turning back around and proceeding into the offices.
Majima usually took time to himself after a meeting he didn't agree with, usually they were asking him to do something he didn’t wish to do or demanding The Majima family lay their lives down for some bullshit cause. Everytime a Patriarch dies, or a family has to disband Majima, more often than not, would get up to 200 hundred new recruits into his own, making it the biggest of The Tojo Clan so he’s always asked to lay down his men's lives for the sake of Daigo or the greater good. It’s really one of his biggest peeves about being tied down into the Tojo Clan, while he was, ultimately, in charge of his family he had to obey Daigo’s orders no matter what. Yakuza code to uphold and all, and Majima always upholds his moral codes even at the cost of his dignity, freedom, or life.
-
A couple of hours passed and you had kept yourself occupied looking over paperwork concerning the finances of The Family, sorting out spending, repair work for damages made to Majima family turf, and collection payments from said turf. This was the work that you liked, the filing and organisation of it all, keeping things behind the scenes running smoothly. It was what you were good at, the best in the family if your title was anything to go by, and you often felt proud of the work you did, and how little you made mistakes.
Of course there were others who handled the wages and every day frivolities, you were there to check any major problems or spare work whenever you had a moment to breathe away from Majima… but you hadn’t heard from him, not a hair or even a whisper of what he was doing right now.
“Hmm...” you hummed, quietly putting your documents down and looking out of the window, “he’s been too quiet tonight… maybe I should check in on him” the statement seemed to be questioning but you had already placed your documents into the drawer before speedily heading to the door.
The halls of Millennium Tower were always so quiet, the slightest cough or sneeze ringing and echoing through the walls of your floor. Just like the footsteps you were making that erupted through the desolate silence. As you walked down you nodded to the guards, men were stationed at each door, 2 at yours and Majima’s, and 1 at the lieutenants along with their respective groupies inside the rooms when needed.
Your footsteps continued to echo through the halls as you passed various doors, the guards bowing in respect as menial mumbling chatter rang through the cracks of each room until you came to Majima’s corridor, you walked up and signalled his men to move further down the hall. Still on guard but with a little more privacy. You took a moment to yourself before knocking lightly and waiting for a response.
“Who‘s banging at my door this fuckin’ late?”
“It’s Seiko, sir”
“Oh… justa sec-“
A pause before you heard something heavy drop behind the door and Majima exclaiming painfully.
“Majima-sama? Are you okay?” More groans of pain made your heart quicken in worry, the beating echoing into your ears overpowered your, usually, calm composure, “I’m coming in!” Hastily you opened the door and saw Majima sat on his couch clutching his foot, and a bowling ball on the floor slowly rolling towards you.
“Ah,” you chuckled to yourself, “I think I see what happened”
“Just tryna have a happy memory and it’s gotta do that shit to me?!” Majima sighed and leaned back, legs apart and knees spread wide with his arms stretched out along the back of the seat. You smiled and closed the door behind you before picking up the ball and walking over to him, bowing for respect, and placing the ball back into the open bag on the coffee table, his eye following you every step of the way.
“Are you hurt Majima-san?”
“Naw- well... my pride maybe? Having you see me like this sure is a kick in the dick” he rolled his eye and looked away from you, sending his pout out of the window.
“Better than an actual kick in the dick though, right?” His response was nothing more than a click of his tongue and a sigh as he rolled his head, and his eye, back, “I hadn’t heard from you tonight so I thought I’d check in. After today’s meeting you seemed preoccupied, maybe even a little stressed-“
“I ain’t stressed Seiko-kun” his tone was short and guarded as he raised his head to meet your gaze.
“With all due respect Majima-sama, you are. I know you very well, better than most, and I know something happened in that meeting today” you sighed at his silence and sat in an adjacent chair, placing your chin on your fist and staring at him with bored eyes. He looked at you and scowled before averting his eye back to the window, but you continued to stare and crossed your legs.
“Tch- it’s just- it’s shit The Chairman’s got me doing, now that he’s healed and able to lead again, plus losing Mine and shit, everything’s just gone to fuck and I’m the one who has to put it together again”
You could see how annoyed it made him to be tied down like this, he just wants to do his own thing with people he trusts surrounding him but every time something happened in The Clan Majima was usually the one who had to clean up the mess and with every mess he got tied down even more.
“Unfortunately, this isn’t like in 2006 when you were able to just break away and start on Kamurocho Hills… although-“ he looked back over to you, eye soft and pleading behind his dagger-like glare, “-technically there’s not much stopping you from doing the same right now, if that’s what you choose to do, sir”
“Nothing but a promise”
“To whom?”
“Kiryu Kazama"
You both sat in silence for a moment, the muffled sounds of Kamurocho below echoing into the dimly lit room. The silence was suffocating, unsaid feelings and context ripping the two of you apart before you gathered the courage to break it.
“I see, you do hate breaking promises, sir"
“You really do think you know me don’t you Seiko-chan? Huh?!” Majima stood up and balled up his fists, the soft squelch of leather rubbing against itself filling the angry atmosphere. You sat there and stared at him silently, your eyes telling him you weren’t buying this façade he was putting up. “Ain’t nothing worse n’ a guy who can’t even keep his word. It’s too much that we let Yakuza get this fuckin’ soft all this time, only caring about makin’ money and being on top. Ain't shit without the strength to back it up.”
Majima turned around and sighed before walking over to the window, he placed his elbow above his head and stared down at Kamurocho like a lion watching and guarding over his pride.
“Is this about Makoto Tateyama-san?”
Once again, silence.
You could hear Majima’s breathing getting heavier as he thought about how he wanted to approach this with you and you sat there ready to take it all, he needed to get his emotions out and into the open. Carrying a torch for someone for 21 years wasn’t exactly healthy and the only way Majima knew how to take his mind from it was filling his days with menial tasks, or finding people to fight to prove to himself
“It’s been 4 years since she left the country with her family” you could see Majima’s fist tightening and the scowl on his face getting even angrier as he continued to stare out of the window.
His voice was low, almost a growl, and nothing like his usual scratchy tone “you should know when to shut up and to keep her name outta your mouth”
“I can tell you how she’s doing if you wish, I have people checking on her and her family often to make sure she’s safe”
Majima’s breath hitched in his throat and he looked over to you, his eyebrows still knitted together but now in a combined look of anger, curiosity, and affection. “Why? I never ask’d ya to do that, how’d ya even know?!” He took a step towards you, his arm falling down to his hip and hands still balled into fists. You stood up and clasped your hands behind your back keeping eye contact with him.
“When I joined the family I had my sights fixed on becoming your captain as fast as I could so I dug into your past. The things that happened with Shimano-san and Saejima-san, Yuki-chan and Makoto-san.” He stopped and stared at you, eye wide with awe and mouth slightly agape along with his still knitted brow, “I’ve made it my goal to make sure no loose ends come and bite you in the ass in the future, and that the people you care about are taken care of no matter what. I had hoped to keep your mind at ease.”
“At ease?” Majima’s voice was barely a whisper, the words only just crawling their way to your ears as you stood your ground. “Finding out one of the only people I trust is going behind my back to get info on me, that’s supposed’ta put my mind at ease? Huh?!” Majima’s voice rolled into a roar as he took a step towards you, the anger radiating off of him and his mad eye shaking around as he bore a hole into your skull with glare alone.
“Yes.”
Your reply was short and abrupt, the final tipping point before Majima ran towards you and grabbed your collar pushing you back into the wall. You both grunted at the impact as books fell off of his shelves. Your hands came up and gripped his arms in a futile effort to keep him at bay, there was no way you’d be able to take The Mad Dog in any kind of fight, not that you’d want to but you had to try to calm him down somehow.
“The fuck you think you are?! Huh?!”
“The one person who’s always on your side no matter what Majima-san!” He didn’t budge, “I didn’t do it for blackmail or for any kind of leverage, if I wanted that I wouldn’t have worked so fucking hard to get to where I am now. Here! Right by your fucking side where I plan to stay!”
Tears blinded your vision as you poured your heart out to him, the things you admire most about Majima flashing through your mind as his grip on your collar loosened.
The way he never backed down from fights.
His loyalty to the people close to him, especially his family.
The promises he never breaks no matter how hard it is to get to the result.
How hard he fights when he lets loose, especially when he fights Kiryu.
His smile.
His laugh.
His nose.
His lips.
Him…
“Sei- no… (Y/N)-kun…” him saying your name made your heart skip a beat and the breath in your lungs disappear. His hands lay on your chest, slightly smoothing down the fabric of your creased shirt and he averted his gaze, almost sheepishly, as he realised what he had done.
“Unless you throw me out yourself I don’t ever plan on leaving you, Majima-san. Not for all the Yen in Japan, not even to start my own family-“
“You’d be a great patriarch, y’know”
You smiled and lightly sighed, “not nearly as great as you.”
A small gasp made it’s way past his lips once more before his gaze made its way back to your own, eye slightly watering as you studied him making sure to remember every little detail you could. Only now could you feel how close he had gotten, Majima’s breath a small breeze upon your lips, both of you breathing in eachothers air.
All the blood in your body became intimately known to you as well as where it was rushing to. The heat rising in your cheeks and the small, rushed, beating of your heart echoing into your eardrums.
Majimas voice was barely above a whisper as he leaned his head forward, eye now focused solely on his gloved hand smoothing down your shirt. “Seiko I…” he let out a breathy sigh before a small smile made its way into his lips, Kansai accent slipping from his words, “I haven’t felt this comfortable alone with someone in years, I don’t even know how I’m supposed to feel… not anymore”
“I know” you were in no position to give him advice about how to feel when your own emotions were hardly ever in check, “I’ll be here whenever you need to feel comfortable. No matter how far away I am, even if another family has me locked up. I’ll fight my way to you with every fibre of my being, nothing will keep me from you Majima. Our world has no enemy I won’t kill to make my way back to you.”
He leaned his head down slightly, eye closing as he became more and more vulnerable the closer he got to you, and you felt the same about him. Your breath became shakier as your heart continued to beat out of turn, you leaned your head forward and pressed your forehead against his, feeling how hot his body was, your noses barely touching and your hand resting on his bicep.
Kamurocho stopped in those few seconds, no sounds, no lights, no traffic, just the two of you alone on this earth.
Majima was the first to move, his hand creeping up to the side of your neck and his head tilting to the right as he brought your lips closer together, your breath trapped in your lungs as you anticipated his lips upon yours. Your eyes had been focused on anything but his gaze until now, you looked up and he had already been studying you. Just as your lips were about to touch there was a knock at the door, both of you jumped and parted before someone walked in and bowed, looking like he had bad news.
“Sir, I’m sorry to interrupt but there’s a phone call from The Chairman, he says it’s urgent”
Majima sighed and turned away from you, the lingering heat from his hand on your chest slowly fading away as you averted your gaze. All of the trapped air in your lungs made its way out and you stood there out of breath and embarrassed.
“You should get that! I’ll leave you alone. Thank you for seeing me Majima-sama, have a good night.” You bowed and Majima opened his mouth to protest but before he could you quickly made your way out of the door and down the hall to the elevator, face red and still short of breath.
Once the elevator doors closed, and you were alone, everything hit you and you couldn’t stop yourself falling onto the wall for support, the cool metal of the lift. All breath left your lungs as the emotions took over, arms wrapping around yourself and eyes fixed on the floor as you tried everything you could to calm down the thoughts in your head and the thoughts in your heart.
You remained that way until the elevator came to the floor of your office. You stepped out, having regained your calm persona, and walked down the halls with your hands firmly by your side, the right one almost burning as you remembered the feeling of Majima’s bicep in your grip. Your chest aflame with his handprint as you continued trying to keep your composure, determined not to let any of The Family see you like this.
You spent the remainder of your night awake and alone in your office, laying down on your couch with a pillow for company and the Kamurocho sounds, and rain, for ambience. Each thought was of him, how close the two of you had gotten, and how much closer you were about to get before you were interrupted.

Hi, first of all, I want to thank you for your opinions of this manga, because I am new to this fandom. Also thank you for the translations of the chapters analysis, they help me a lot to understand it better.
My English is not very good and I haven't written in this language for a long time, so I apologize if these thoughts are not very clear
Thanks Google Translator
Reading this manga over and over again, I realized something, when Yashiro has "his encounters", even in his fantasies and memories, he never touches someone of his own free will, he is always touched, kissed, beaten, tied up, slapped, etc. and it is understood, he is a masochist, to obtain pleasure it must be through pain... Except for two occasions: the tender rub on Doumeki's cheek in the middle of their meeting and the kiss before telling him what bothers about him (I don´t count when he kissed Inami, the policeman, since that was before they had sex and to avoid a disaster with Doumeki being there annoyed by what he said)
When he takes the initiative (I think you know what I mean), he only touches "the part" that he likes, he does not touch any other part ... but when Doumeki begins to help him when he need it, Yashiro little by little begins to touch him, maybe it's instinct, I don't know, I haven't seen someone else do it to him either, maybe I'm thinking this matter too much hehehehe
What will happen when he is the one who wants to touch? Will he ever want to touch Doumeki? Now that Doumeki doesn't touch anyone else directly due to his gloves, will Yashiro feel the need to touch him? Will he want Doumeki to touch him again? When they are together again (because I know that will happen sooner or later), Will he touch him or will it be the same as always?
I don't know, maybe I'm thinking too much about the matter as I said before and I'm going further but I think that if you are with someone and you are in love with that person, you have the need to touch and feel it, I don't think that Yashiro is immune to those feelings, especially if he's still in love with Doumeki after 4 years
What a long question...
This is a long question that deserves dedicated answer. Your question contains multiple factors and I will try to answer them one by one. If you cannot understand my responds, please don’t hesitate to ask me again.
Yashiro is NOT a masochist, not from the first place. He made himself one to sustain his corrupting mental stage, so he won’t drown in the abyss of hatred and agony. He kept telling himself “I like pain” “I like it hurt” so he could survive the twisted lust of his stepfather. This is his survival instinct. He adjusted himself to fit into the world around him (Please refer to my other analysis <<Hello, Yashiro. How are you?>>).
Yashiro survived his childhood by deceiving (or you can say hypnotizing) himself. These lies then become part of him as he used these lies to protect himself. After he grew up, these lies become his armor, protect him from the hostility others hold to him. I said deceiving, because Yashiro wasn’t exactly enjoying sex no matter with pain or not. He hate sex (or in Misumi san’s words, he hate all mankind), but he kept doing it, because this is what he did when he was growing up, this is a part of him. He cannot simply cut it away, it is the same as he cut a major part of his own body away. The pain will be unbearable, and he most likely can never recover from it.
The major part of sex is touching. No matter it’s kissing or hugging or rubbing on skin, it is touching each other affectionally. But for Yashiro, who hate sex with all his mind, touching is not so enjoyable. He hate touching, just like he hate sex. He cannot cut sex away from his life, then he will keep affection away from sex. This is why he cannot accept any affection in sex. Anyone who dare mixing affection in sex will be discarded mercilessly. The best example we had is our poor Doumeki.
Talk about Doumeki. We all know he is special to Yashiro. Yashiro never let anyone (psychological) get close to him. He never open his heart to anyone. Yet Doumeki make out a territory in his heart. This is not normal. Nanahara, who worked for Yashiro for 10 years, couldn’t enter his heart. Misumi san, who knew Yashiro before he was even a Yakuza, couldn’t enter his heart. Hirata’s subordinate, who got suspended for falling in love with Yashiro, couldn’t enter his heart. Why Doumeki can? What makes Doumeki special to Yashiro?
There are many different theories according to this thesis. This is my guess.
Because Doumeki was impotent.
Yashiro hate sex. Anyone who are able to have sex with him is his target of hatred. This is why he never let Nanahara do it for him, because he doesn’t want to hate Nanahara (He is like a family to Yashiro BTW. The same reason Yashiro never thought for doing it with Kageyama.) But he allow Doumeki do it for him, and he didn’t hate Doumeki for it. Why? Because Doumeki was impotent, he was not able to have sex with Yashiro. I think a part of Yashiro feels safe around Doumeki, because he hate sex, and Doumeki can never do it with him. He felt comfortable about this. So comfortable that he allow Doumeki do what others can’t on him, so comfortable that he allow Doumeki stay close with him, so comfortable that he allowed Doumeki enter his heart, and became a special existent within him.
The feelings Yashiro hold for Doumeki was very simple, or you can say pure. Around all the men that could hurt (sleep with) him, Doumeki was the only one who was not able to do so. That’s why Yashiro became fond of him. You can say Yashiro didn’t see Doumeki as a Man (because Man will hurt him). Therefore, Doumeki was safe to touch, unlike the others. This is why Doumeki could stay close to Yashiro and eventually entered his heart. Because Yashiro hate all mankind, but in his eyes, Doumeki was not a “Man”.
However, this intimacy has one extremely important condition that CANNOT be violated. Yashiro cannot accept any affection mixed in sex, so for Yashiro to hold affection to someone, the rule is they CANNOT have sex. Because Yashiro hate sex. Sex is harmful. Sex is painful. Sex is the darkest part of him that he could never cut away. That’s why he accepted Doumeki, because Doumeki could never associate with sex. That’s why when Doumeki chose to cross that boundary, Yashiro fled.
And you asked if Yashiro wanted to touch Doumeki? Well...…

Maybe Yashiro was in love with Doumeki way earlier than we imagined.

Powerful Ch. 2
Yakuza! Shouta Aizawa x Fem! Reader
*Mafia AU*
Warnings: Misogyny (not from Shouta), a dagger, kinda fluffy
Word Count: 3.5 k
Author’s Note: This is turning out pretty good, I think. It’s turning into a kind of slow-burn ish thing, and as much as I can’t stand slow-burn sometimes, I’m liking it so far. If I’m being honest I feel like (hopefully) this is the thing that can help me get over my smut writing block. I haven’t been able to get myself to write smut for a while, and I’m hoping this can help me fix it.
Chapter 1 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4
Also, if you haven’t figured it out by now, I usually put in that little line spacer when there’s a pov change. You know, this one:
____
So yeah. And the three asterisks (except the ones at the beginning):
* * * Usually means a timeskip. If it’s unlabelled it’s only a short skip, anything over 24 hours I’ll label.
Enjoy~

Shouta woke you up, his rough hands rubbing your back and deep voice softly calling your name. When you let your eyes flutter open you realize you’re still on top of him, only your head is further cradled into his neck and your leg had found its way around his waist. The position had your face warming as you lifted your head and met his dark eyes.
“Good morning, little one.” He sounded groggy, like he’d just woken up himself. You pulled away and he released you so you could sit up. Off of him. You couldn’t quite hold his gaze, so you looked down at the bedsheets.
“Good morning, Shouta.” He sits up beside you, a hand grasping your chin and making you look at him.
“Am I too forward? Or are you afraid of me, little one?” You raise your eyebrows, not expecting him to really consider your own comfort.
“Can I speak freely?” He nods, and you take a breath.
“You are being just a little forward, but I think it’s only really enhanced because you’re known for being cold and unwelcoming. And also the fact that we only formally met last night.” His hand drops, and he waits for the second half of your answer. You take a moment to choose your wording, make sure you’re accurately communicating your feelings without offending him.
“While I do feel awkward and, frankly, small around you I don’t necessarily fear you. So far you’ve shown that you aren’t cruel, and though you are capable of some...violent things, I have no reason yet to believe you would be violent toward me.” A small smile tugs at his lips, a foreign thing to see.
“I assure you, I am not a violent lover. Nor will I ever be.” He reaches over and grabs your hand, lifting it to his face and leaving a soft kiss on your knuckles. It’s a simple, sweet gesture that has your face and chest heating. Then he gets up and you follow him out to the living room where three large suitcases are waiting. Your suitcases, you realize, Mother and Father must have packed all your clothing and had them sent here. Shouta picks up two of them and you take the last one, returning to the bedroom.
“The closet has plenty of room, so go ahead and sort everything out. I’ll be in my office. Once you’re done just wait for me, we’ll be going out later.” You nod, and he’s disappearing into his office. For the first time, you take a good look at the room. Your room now, you remind yourself.
It’s large, enough to fit three more king beds with plenty of spare room. The king-sized mattress sits in a black frame that was built to look like it was hovering inches off the ground, fitted with light gray sheets and a large black comforter. The entire room is illuminated by lights embedded in the ceiling, the floor a dark hardwood that matches the doors to the bathroom and walk-in closet. A table sat on either side of the bed, both painted black to match the bed frame.
The walk-in closet is big as well, though it’s much brighter than the main bedroom. The floor is smooth white tile, a white center island with a glass top looking into the top drawers that held numerous watches and ties. Most of Shouta’s clothing seems to be folded, the suits and more high-end clothing the only pieces hung up. You filled the empty spaces with your own clothing, keeping everything organized like you had back at home. With everything tucked away, you decided it was time to change out of the robe, tugging on undergarments you missed those, a pair of loose sweatpants and a racerback tank top. Then you brought the now empty suitcases back to the living room and dug through the kitchen for some breakfast.
____
Shouta emerged from his office to you humming to yourself as you worked over the stove of bacon and pancakes. He didn’t even know he had bacon, let alone the ingredients for pancakes. It was quite cute, seeing you bounce lightly along with the tune you’re humming, spatula in hand. It’s a domestic sight, completely foreign to him. He leaned on the doorframe, choosing to admire you a while longer.
“Are you just going to stand there or are you going to come get some food?” He blinked, slightly shocked, you hadn’t even turned around to see if he was there. You must have heard the door open, though he made sure none of the doors in his home creaked. It’s an irritating noise. He made his way over to you, hooking his chin over your shoulder and placing his large hands on your waist.
He knows he’s moving a little fast with the intimacy. He’d asked you earlier, though you said you didn’t mind, you were absolutely right that it’s weird being so close so soon. In all honesty, as long as you’re alright with it he wants to continue being touchy like this. He’s never truly had any interest in naming a partner, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want company. He’s been lonely for a long time, longing for someone to hold, and while he’s absolutely sure any woman would love to court him willingly, he wants someone special.
He can’t stand the women that throw themselves at any man with power and money, most of them only in it for their own gain. If he were to announce before the ball that he was looking to name a wife, he’d probably have had a line of fawning women on their best behavior to butter him up, flirting and smiling those too-big smiles in an attempt to get a rock on their finger and power to wield at their leisure. That’s why he’d decided to watch from afar, and you struck him as different the moment he’d laid eyes on you.
The more time he spent in your company, the more he’s commending himself for picking you. You’re one of the probable few that held a semi-neutral opinion of him, not fearful nor starstruck. You’re intelligent, well-articulated, and while you have your limits you tend to go with the flow, let the wind carry you this way and that. And you’re honest with him, he has no doubt you’ll tell him if there’s a boundary he crosses.
____
You’re grateful he can’t quite tell the state you’re in right now. Shouta’s hands on your waist flustered you, more than you care to admit. Sure, he’s advancing rather quickly, but you meant it when you said you didn’t mind. You’d been forbidden from dating, made to save yourself for the strategic marriage your father had planned. For the longest time you’d wanted to be held, touched and loved by someone. And here Shouta is, fulfilling all your teenage daydreams. He has no reason to be so close behind closed doors, where no one can see you, so he must feel some sort of real attraction toward you right? Otherwise he’d be more closed off, only opting to speak on his own terms and not caring at all about you or your comfort.
You shake yourself from your thoughts and the two of you sit at the dining table, quietly eating your breakfast. It is a little awkward, but you expected as much. Shouta, like you, probably isn’t used to eating with another person. You both finish breakfast soon, and once the dishes are washed Shouta startles you with his next words.
“We’ll be leaving in an hour or two for a lunch meeting with a few other clans.” You have to take a pause and think about what he’d just said.
“We? You want me to join you?” A part of you wants him to confirm it, another hopes he doesn’t.
“Yes, I want you there with me.” Cue your confusion.
“It’s almost unheard of, having a woman in a clan meeting.” As much as you hate the patriarchy and its traditions, they are still traditions that, once challenged, could upset many people.
“Let’s say I’m breaking the status-quo. If I’m going to have a wife, she’ll be wielding my power alongside me, not just existing as a means to further the bloodline.” It becomes apparent to you that Shouta, despite his position, is very much not traditional. You turn to him and lean against the kitchen counter, crossing your arms over your chest.
“So why have you chosen me? I’m the daughter of a very low-ranked oyabun, have almost no experience compared to you and I am most definitely not someone other oyabun would approve to be your wife, let alone leading the entirety of the Yakuza.” He quirks an eyebrow at you, crossing his own arms.
“I don’t care what other oyabun may think of me or my choices, they don’t dictate what I do. As for why I’ve chosen you, it’s quite simple. I’ve known you for less than a day and it’s already obvious to me that you can take most things in stride, without allowing it to affect you emotionally. You’re good at compartmentalizing your own thoughts, can keep a level head under pressure, and that’s exactly what I need.” Your own eyebrows raise, not expecting a read like that.
“And last night as I watched you, it was clear to me that you’re skilled at masking your emotions, especially nervousness or fear. Think about what any other woman would have done, had I walked up to them and asked their name. Before I could get another word out they’d probably drop to their knees and begin begging for their lives. Most would probably faint on the spot, pounce on me, or any other number of unsavory responses after announcing a sudden engagement to me. But you? You did nothing, simply answering my question and taking my hand with no theatrics.”
You nod slowly, mildly understanding his point. While it’s true you had almost no reaction, you’re almost sure there’d be at least a dozen other women in that hall that would have reacted the way you had.
“Still, there must have been many others that acted like I did. For me to be so completely unique is…” You trailed off, not sure how to finish that sentence.
“Unlikely? Yes. Impossible? No. I trust my own judgement, little one, and you should have a little more faith in yourself. Now, let’s go get ready. I’ve already got a dress for you to wear. It’s only semi-formal, we’ll be going to a restaurant for this meeting.” You give a small sigh as you follow him into the bedroom.
All you can do now is go along with it, whether you trust his judgement or not. Suddenly being put in a position of so much power is stressing you out a little bit, but Shouta isn’t wrong about your compartmentalization. The stress could be dealt with later, right now you have a meeting to attend.
* * *
On second thought, maybe the stress should have been dealt with earlier. Standing outside the restaurant, wrapped around Shouta’s arm is making your heart pound in your chest. You’re unconsciously squeezing his bicep, and even as he looks down at you, there's nothing on your face to indicate your nerves. You’re completely deadpanned, eyes focused and mind working overtime. Shouta’s calloused hand falls over yours, a mildly comforting gesture.
“Don’t worry, little one. The most you’ll have to do is sit still and look pretty. I’m aware of your inexperience, I don’t expect you to be put on the spot. If you are and feel uncomfortable then all you need to do is tap my leg. You’ll be fine.” You nod. The pep-talk is appreciated, but it isn’t the meeting itself you’re worried about. What kind of backlash will Shouta be getting once you enter? What will be said about his reputation afterward? All you can do is wait and see.
You stride into the venue, and are led to a private room by a hostess. You can hear the casual conversation from the open door, but once you’re inside the immediate silence is unsettling. You don’t need to look directly at the half dozen men to know all their eyes are fixed on you as you both sit at the head of the table. Shouta quickly and smoothly brings the attention off of you.
“It’s good to see you, gentlemen. Let’s get this meeting started, shall we?” The tension in the room is still palpable, the clear discomfort from the men hadn’t vanished, but their main focus now is the subject of the meeting. You sit and listen carefully as they talk about several things, from natural disaster preparations to minor territory disputes. Some of the smaller syndicates under these oyabun had spread operations outside their borders, but that was quickly settled as most was due to small misunderstandings and unclear borders. Soon the meeting was nearly coming to a close, and suddenly Shouta left to use the restroom.
And now, you’re a lioness in a clan of hyenas.
You keep quiet, listening to their conversation and following along with the political debates to further familiarize yourself with the inner workings of the higher circle. Suddenly the table goes quiet, and you lift your eyes from the table to meet the gaze of six men that value tradition. Unsure what to do, you drop your gaze again, but don’t drop your chin, choosing to look down your nose at the wood grain. Shouta had told you to hold yourself as he does, and you make sure to try, but you know when to keep to yourself.
“Tell me, girl, what are you doing here?” You blink, not expecting to be confronted so blatantly. You look up at the man who had asked the question. He looks to be in his late forties, jet black hair graying at the temples and striking brown eyes aged and tired. He’s not thin, a little heavier-set, but it’s clear there was a point that he was fit and muscular. He’s already irked you. You nod your head, a small bow, before calmly answering.
“My name is (y/n). I would appreciate it if you could please use it, Oyabun. I am here because Shouta wants me to be here.” The man narrows his eyes at you, a small scoff comes from one of the others but you don’t avert your eyes to him.
“Well why does he want you here, girl?” The blatant rejection of your request made your blood boil, but you kept a pleasant face.
“I don’t know. If you wish to know you may need to ask him yourself, Oyabun. And please, call me (y/n).” You’re certain he won’t use your name, and you addressing it again will probably anger him, but you can’t care too much when you know you’re within your right to ask that anyone use your name. Especially when you yourself are using a title for the man.
“I’ll address you how I see fit. Just because you’re the Black Dragon’s fiance does not mean I will acknowledge you as anyone of importance.” Ah, that’s right. You had forgotten Shouta’s nickname. Black Dragon is the name people used for him, whether they were afraid of the man or in awe of him. You take an imperceptible, steadying breath. Misogyny is one of the few things that challenge your composure.
“I do not ask you to acknowledge me as a person who holds power. In fact, I am aware of my previous rank and understand that it was maybe unwise to have me here. All I ask is that you please use my name.” The near growl that escapes the man does nothing to your self-control, doesn’t even strike any kind of emotion other than irritation. At this point, the other five men seem to be siding with you, their gazes fixed on the rather aggressive-reacting oyabun with something akin to confusion.
“Do not talk back to me, girl! I should remind you of your place here.” The other men sit in shock as he rises from his seat and begins to circle the table. He must have had tunnel vision, because Shouta’s voice cuts through the room so abruptly he freezes, his eyes snapping over to the entrance where Shouta stands, glaring daggers at him.
“Touch her, and I will personally bury you six feet under.” The man is frozen in shock, almost in disbelief. He tries, albeit weakly, to get Shouta on his side.
“O-oyabun! I… This girl, she--”
“I believe she asked you to use her name. Politely, might I add.” He’d been listening? How long had he stood there?
“In fact, you should address her as Onna-oyabun.” Your breath caught at that, the same as the rest of the room. That title was a myth, a rarity in its own right. There were so few instances where that title was applied to a woman under such specific circumstances that it’s a mere legend today. The most recent was an old woman who had inherited her deceased husband’s clan, which was extremely small, and even that was long ago.
Shouta’s hand landed on your shoulder, his rough thumb drawing small circles into your skin. He was silent, waiting for the older man, or anyone in the room, to oppose him. You could feel his glare in the faces of the other clans’ oyabun, the intensity of it making even you uneasy. It felt like an eternity before Shouta spoke again, venom laced in every syllable.
“I’ve chosen to let you keep all of your teeth, in favor of keeping her from seeing what violence I’m capable of. Next time, I won’t be so gracious. It’s time to go, little one.” You bow your head quickly before taking Shouta’s extended hand and strolling out of the room.
In the car, it’s silent. You have every intention of apologizing for causing a scene, though you aren’t sure if you should speak here or at home. Shouta doesn’t leave you any options.
“What is it? There’s something bothering you.” How perceptive.
“I’m sorry, Shouta.” He turns his head, his expression questioning your intelligence.
“For what? For asking to be addressed in a way that isn’t demeaning? He had no reason to ask why you were there, let alone attempt to attack you like that. I always hated that man, you’ve just given me a reason to threaten him.” You did a double-take.
“You heard everything? How long were you standing at the door?”
“Ah. I put a bug in the metal piece on the front of your dress. I knew they might be unsavory toward you, and with me out of the room they were more likely to speak their minds.” You nearly gawked at him. No wonder he’d chosen your dress for you.
“You never went to use the restroom.” He shook his head.
“No, I didn’t. It is I who should be apologizing, little one. The entire ordeal was intentional, as much as I hoped it wouldn’t actually take such a turn. Though I will say I was serious about that title. I fully intend to marry you, and I intend to have you by my side for every meeting from here on out.” You suck in a sharp breath at that bit of information. Marriage seemed like such an abstract concept until now, having Shouta say it somehow made it all the more solid. And to join him for every meeting?
“As long as there are no more surprise incidents then I think I can come with you.” A low chuckle rumbled in his chest, and he squeezed your hand.
“Deal. Though I may need to do that a few more times just to keep some men in line.” You let yourself giggle, he must hate a few of the others as well.
“In that case I’ll help you. I was afraid he’d actually get me for a second there.”
“Really? You didn’t even react. What if I were a split second too late?” You smirked, a mischievous little tug at your lips.
“Well if you were too late he’d have at least one stab wound and be bleeding out on the floor.” He shoots you a bewildered look before you tug up the hem of your dress, exposing a large dagger strapped to your thigh. He can’t contain his laughter, throwing his head back and wiping away at a few stray tears once he can breathe again. You can’t help but laugh with him, and notice just how handsome he looks when he’s happy, or in this case amused.
“Wouldn’t that be an unpleasant surprise.” He chuckles a bit more, getting it all out of his system before looking over at you.
“Regardless, I won’t be letting them get that close. I’m sure you’re capable of defending yourself, and as much as I’d love to see you stab an annoying misogynist, the risk to your safety still remains. Not to mention he disregarded my warning last night. You’re untouchable, little one, he knows this and still thought he could touch even a single hair on your head.”
You let a small smile settle on your lips, lacing your fingers with Shouta’s as a comfortable silence falls between you.

Yakuza!Kyōjurō x F!S/O: Sugar and Spice (Mafia!AU, Modern AU, NSFW Series)[Chapter 5]
Summary: Kyōjurō and (Y/n) meet at a party, only to find out that their lives would change forever— since they had been arranged to be married.
Warnings: Making Out, Dry Humping, Extreme Fluff
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4| Chapter 6
***
(Y/n) wasn’t a stranger to fast food establishments at all; especially when she was far away from her family at university, and well away from having to keep up pretenses— on the off chance that an off-the-rails paparazzo would recognize her and hound her for an interview.
She liked to partake in the occasional burger from McDonald’s, and the odd fried chicken from KFC every once in a while. But it was the first time that she’d even been to a fast food restaurant while dressed to the nines.
Hell, she was even wearing statement jewelry that her mother had told Rin to make her wear. And that had her gripping her seatbelt even tighter than before; especially as Kyōjurō pulled up right in front of the busy McDonald’s without a care in the world.
As if he owned the road, which he may as well have— what with the wide berth that people and cars had given him.
(Y/n) couldn’t blame them at all; she would have dived for cover the moment that she had spotted the 4444 digits, as well as the little crown at the corner of Kyōjurō’s license plate. But that was before she had come to be engaged to a Yakuza member— the heir of the family, no less.
“Are you serious? We’re eating here?” She didn’t have any qualm with fast food at all— it was just that they were extremely overdressed. And it was already garnering the attention from a couple of pedestrians, which had her sinking into her seat even further.
But Kyōjurō seemed like he couldn’t give two fucks about what anyone else thought, as he unbuckled his seatbelt and didn’t even bat an eye as he got out of the car; rounding it, all so he could open her door for her.
Gentlemanly, and it wooed (Y/n) a little, but it did barely anything to ease the embarrassment that she got from the stares of all the passersby.
“Why, princess? Too casual for you?” Kyōjurō teased, watching with amusement as his fiancée huffed a little while undoing her seatbelt. And, as a little act of rebellion, she ignored his hand and stepped out of the sedan as gracefully as she can— impressing Kyōjurō even more, as she seamlessly rose up without even parting her legs to move.
“In this case, yes. And in case you haven’t noticed, Kyōjurō, everyone has been staring at us.”
“So? Let them stare; it’s the first time that they’d seen someone as beautiful as you.” The Rengoku answered smoothly, taking (Y/n) off guard and making her cheeks bloom a vibrant red from embarrassment.
And, with a soft chuckle, Kyōjurō quickly took his fiancée’s hand into his own— before tugging her towards the bustling McDonald’s for a quick breakfast.
To Kyōjurō’s surprise— and his utter delight— she managed to finish her pancake and sausage meal; before giving his remaining pancake longing looks across the table.
(Y/n) tried to avoid looking at the fluffy pancake, as it was rude to do so, but her eyes always gravitated towards it; her stomach speaking for her and making her mouth water for the sweet treat. After all, pancakes were one of her most favorite breakfast items— if only for the fact that her father had always taken her to get them before school, before he was the Prime Minister.
The faintest of smiles graced her lips at the fond memories that came flashing in her mind; a reaction that wasn’t lost on Kyōjurō at all, especially since it gave her such a soft and ethereal glow that had him completely transfixed.
His mouth would have fallen open, had he not caught himself in time and kept it closed. And, before he could help it, an equally subtle smile tugged up at the corners of his lips— all while he admired the woman whom sat adjacent from him; the woman who was going to be his wife.
“What’re you smiling about?” The question wasn’t harsh at all, it was merely inquisitive, which had Kyōjurō playfully tilting his head slightly and amping up the wattage on his smile.
However, instead of being teasing, he decided to be upfront with her— hoping to catch her off guard.
Which he did, with his answer.
“You. The way you’re the most beautiful person here without even trying...”
(Y/n)’s lips pursed at those words, but the smile that she tried to hide with that action still crept through the tiny cracks in her façade. It completely enamored the Rengoku even more, as opposed to turning him off from her false placidity.
“You’re too much of a charmer, Kyōjurō,” (Y/n) conceded in a somewhat playful tone, before idly taking her cup of orange juice and taking a sip of it— if only to hide her oncoming blush and flustered smile behind the action.
“Only for you, princess.” And honestly, he really meant it; he’d always been charming, but it was only with her that he truly meant everything he said.
***
A two hour drive later found (Y/n) staring in awe up at the tall trees that bordered a two-lane road up in the mountains. They had turned off from the main road five minutes ago, but she had yet to see where her fiancé was taking her.
If she were to be honest, she would say that she was getting slightly nervous. She couldn’t help the reaction though, as it made sense— all because of Kyōjurō’s job’s nature. She had come to like him to a degree, but she had yet to put her trust in him.
After all, she had to be careful, as she had gone into the arrangement with her eyes wide open. His family was cashing in a favor her father owed, and she could never forget that.
But that didn’t mean that she should hate him for it, as she’d come to realize during their breakfast. He wasn’t all that bad, and he was very easy on the eyes— which was an extremely huge plus.
“I hate to ask this so late, but where exactly are we going?” (Y/n) finally piped up, turning away from the seemingly neverending foliage and looking over at Kyōjurō— whom had his full attention on the road.
He didn’t even turn towards her when he answered, “Somewhere special, and somewhere... private.”
The way that the last word rolled off his tongue was packed with so much meaning, that she couldn’t help but feel herself get a little hot under the collar at his double entendre. Still, she pushed for complete placidity, and even opted to cross her legs at the ankles— if only to squeeze her thighs together.
“I’m sure you’re gonna like it there, sweetheart. Best of all, you won’t have to deal with your mother for a while,” Kyōjurō joked with a grin, still not looking at her, but turning to his left before veering the car left.
A sharp gasp escaped from (Y/n)’s lips at the reckless move, only to be truly left speechless when she got an eyeful of the view in front of her. From a break in the foliage, she saw that they were on a cliff face, with a traditional Japanese mansion down below— complete with an expansive garden— and partnered with such a breathtaking view of Saitama’s lush mountains serving as the backdrop.
Not even the sound of Kyōjurō pulling up the handbrake ruined the tranquility of the moment.
She had been to so many beautiful places in the world, but something about the place just seemed so... tranquil. Like it had touched not jusy her heart, but also her soul.
From his seat, Kyōjurō watched in fascination as his fiancée’s expression became even lovelier as the seconds ticked by. She took in the view so hungrily, that he wasn’t prepared for the sheer admiration in her eyes when she turned to finally look at him.
“Is this yours?” She asked softly, her voice barely above breaking a whisper.
And, with a subtle shake of his head, he gave in to his instincts and leaned in closer to bridge the gap between them— cupping her cheeks in his hands and bringing her face in so he could brush his lips against hers. “It’ll be yours too. Soon, Mrs. Rengoku.”
It was only meant to be a quick peck, but Kyōjurō couldn’t help himself and deepened it into a proper kiss; one that had (Y/n) melting right into his touch. She pliantly parted her lips for his tongue, moaning softly against his mouth when he moved to play with hers.
But things didn’t stop there for the couple, as (Y/n) released more of her control and allowed her lover to pull her over the console and right onto his lap. Thankfully, her dress was flared enough to have not ripped when she instinctively straddled him.
It was a tight fit, with her pressed flush against him— as the steering wheel was digging into her back— but she paid no mind to it as she traded kiss for kiss with her fiancé. All the while, the Rengoku’s hands anchored themselves to either side of her waist, kneading her sides before the right one moved down to cup her ass and squeeze it through her dress.
“Fuck, baby, I want nothing more than to fuck you right here,” Kyōjurō hissed, as he hungrily devoured his lover’s lips with open mouthed kisses. He had even taken to nipping at her lips every once in a while to ease the frustration he felt, especially with her pussy pressed flush against the steadily rising bulge between his thighs.
But he couldn’t break his own word— that his cock was a wifey privilege. Because not only would that be embarrassing and needy as hell for him, it would be going back on his word. And if there’s anything that Kyōjurō hated, it was going back on someone’s word— especially his own.
In response to that, (Y/n) began to grind her pussy up against Kyōjurō’s erection; wrapping her arms even tighter around his shoulders, while her fingers buried themselves in his hair. “Do it. Fuck me right here.”
Part of her was surprised at her shameless words, but she couldn’t very well take them back anymore so she decided to remedy her gaffe by being the one to dive in for another open mouthed kiss— if only to distract her lover from what she had just admitted to wanting, in a roundabout way.
Kyōjurō’s cock was throbbing with need at that statement, but he still forced himself to pull away before things could press on to the point where even he would lose sight of his own control. It was the hardest thing he’d had to do in a while, and it was obvious by (Y/n)’s expression that she did not appreciate being rejected once more— which he tried to smooth over with one last kiss to her luscious lips.
“Wifey priveleges, princess. Not until you’re officially mine.”

𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐄, tetsuro kuroo x reader — ch. 4
— in which an unfortunate bartender in the wrong place at the wrong time get kidnapped by one of the biggest crime syndicates in the city.
female reader, original on wattpad, cw; swearing, death threats
word count: 1496 — first previous
When you come back to your senses, you're half expecting to be standing at heaven's gate. But the scene before you is anything but white clouds and golden roads.
You lay on a rather comfortable sofa in a spacious room. Floor-length windows line two of the walls, giving a bird's eye view of the bustling city. The evening sun setting on the horizon shines through the glass, giving the room a warm glow. The ceiling is high, a small, fancy and abstract chandelier hangs above you. Beside you, across from the sofa you lay on, a glass coffee table sits. And beyond that, an armchair with a man sitting in it.
You groan and place your hand against your forehead. There's a very prominent bump from where it came in contact with the ground. You can't remember what happened exactly-
Wait.
There's a man sitting in the chair.
You spring upright and snap your gaze back over to him. The sudden movement causes a headache to flare up, but you ignore it. Your pulse picks up slightly, the sight of the stranger making you uneasy.
"Good evening," he says in a smooth voice. You take in his appearance, and holy shit, he is illegally handsome.
The golden light paints him miraculously, illuminating his sharp, hazel eyes beautifully. His athletic physique is fitted perfectly with a dark business suit and crimson red tie. An expensive silver watch hugs snuggly around his left wrist, accentuating his hand rather nicely.
He sits with his legs crossed formally, a glass of whiskey hanging loosely in his fingers. As he raises the glass to his lips to take a drink, not once do his eyes leave you. They stare at you with an analysing intensity, almost as if he's gauging what you can do. What that might be, you don't know.
"How are you feeling?" he asks. "You've been out for the entire day."
"Who are you?" you ask wearily, feeling the need to protect yourself. You hug your arms around you and slowly bring your legs close to your chest.
The fact that you aren't dead makes you feel worse. You were kept alive for a reason, and that reason makes your stomach churn.
"Tetsuro Kuroo, the leader of the Nekoma gang here in Tokyo," the man answers, a charming smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "And I'm guessing you're [y/n] [l/n]?"
You furrow your brows at him. "How do you..?" you ask softly, your voice trailing off as confusion takes over.
"Don't worry, I didn't obtain my information in an overtly creepy way," he says and his eyes flick down to your chest for a second. "You're wearing a name tag."
You look down, seeing the plastic card pinned to your shirt. Right. You were working.
"I sincerely apologise for how you were handled," Kuroo says, taking a sip of his whiskey before continuing. "Hopefully it didn't cause you too much discomfort."
Oh, yeah, like an almost broken and bloody nose doesn't feel like Satan himself is trying to dig his fingers up there and rip out my sinuses.
You want to scoff at his ignorant words, but you refrain from doing so.
"What do you want from me?" you ask as you gently touch your fingertips to the bridge of your nose. You hiss at the severe tenderness of the bruise. It feels a bit swollen, as well. You wonder what it looks like. You have yet to see how much of a mess you are after getting beaten and kidnapped in a mirror.
"We just need to have a little talk," Kuroo says. He sets his glass down on the end table beside his chair. The glass on glass sounds loud.
He folds his hands on his knee and watches as you rub the back of your hand against your mouth and inspect it for dried blood, only to find none. It seems like you've been cleaned up. He holds his tongue and waits for you to finish checking over the wounds you've obtained.
As you run your fingers along the scabs on your cheek, you look at him. Your hand drops down and you wrap your arm around your legs. The scabs don't seem too bad. They'll heal rather quickly.
Taking your anticipating gaze as a sign to continue, Kuroo takes a breath. "You're kinda in deep shit right now. What you saw and heard behind that little bar of yours wasn't something for your eyes and ears."
I figured that much, Sherlock.
"And I don't want to go through the troubles of covering up a murder," he continues. "So, for the time being, I can't let you leave until I know you won't utter a word."
"What?" you blink at him. A part of you doesn't believe it, but the other that uses common sense sort of saw this coming.
"Your knowledge of that little... deal, so to speak, makes you a liability," Kuroo elaborates. His eyes dance across your face in a sort of curious way. "What my men and I are doing is rather illegal, and I can't have you run off and blab to the authorities when I've worked really hard to get to where I am, now can I?"
He quirks a brow at you. The question is rhetorical, so you don't feel the need to answer. Not like you want to, anyway. You're more worried about not being able to leave.
What does he mean by that? Where will you stay? Are you staying with him?
"Will you let me go home if I promise not to say anything?" you ask. It's a stupid question, but for some reason, you hope the answer to it is in your favour.
"I'm afraid it's not that easy," Kuroo says with a shake of his head.
"Why not?" you furrow your brows, getting a little snippy. You don't see why it's so hard for him to just trust your words. Besides, if you can't leave you'll most likely end up as a bed warmer, just as the men behind the bar intended. And you don't want that. "I'm one hell of a secret keeper. Can't you just let me go and pretend I never saw or heard anything?"
Kuroo is irked by your response. Don't you get it? Trust is something that's earned, not handed out like free food to the poor and homeless. And that rule is strongly enforced with the Yakuza.
He stands up and you swallow. He speaks as he walks across the spacious lounge and towards you.
"In case you've failed to notice..." he says lowly and stops directly in front of you.
You sink back into the sofa like a coward, not liking how close he is to you. He folds his hands behind his back and bends down slightly to get closer for intimidation purposes.
"...You are in no position to argue. I could easily have you killed right here and now and I wouldn't even blink," he threatens, his serious tone raising goosebumps all over your body. "But I decided that I'm going to show a bit of mercy. You should be grateful that you're still breathing."
You cast your gaze to the side submissively. His words are harsh, cold, and angry, and they have no trouble putting you in your place.
Kuroo straightens, staring down at you with scrutinising eyes. "My men and I won't hesitate to do what it takes to get what we want. And what we want right now, is for you to keep quiet."
"How... how do you plan on doing that?" you ask in a meek voice. You hate it. You absolutely hate it. You feel so helpless right now. But you didn't feel helpless when you were taking a beating last night. So why now?
"You'll be staying here," Kuroo says, backing off with a few steps away from you. He runs his hands down the front of his suit to remove any wrinkles and adjusts his tie. "It's the easiest way I can keep an eye on you."
You want so desperately to argue, but you can't. You know that it will be to no avail, that Kuroo's decision is final. But there's nothing you can do about it, except go along with it and hope that you can go home soon.
And as he said before, you're a liability.
You can't be let loose.
"I'll send in one of my men to show you to your room," Kuroo says as he turns on his heel and starts leaving the room. "We'll discuss the rules you will have to follow while living here over dinner."
You don't say anything to acknowledge him. You just keep your lips tight, your gaze still averted.
"Be a good girl and wait here," he says.
And with that, he leaves, his footsteps retreating with him.

A/N: I hope you all enjoy part 1/4 of my pieces for day four of the anniversary collab for the @konoblog-simps. You can find all the lovely pieces for the day here! Today’s theme was song pieces, and its full of angst. My heart broke after this piece. 😩 Izaya just deserves love. I’ll be spanning my four pieces throughout the next couple of hours so stay turned. You can find all the days of the collab here!
For the best experience listen to the song while reading the piece. The song title and artist have the link for he music video. 😊
Pairing: Izaya x fem!Reader
Song Choice: Without Me by Chvse
Warnings: alcohol consumption, angst, violence
Word Count: 1.7k
Izaya had never felt this kind of pain before. This man had been beaten senseless, stabbed, and everything in between, but nothing had ever really hurt him as much as heartbreak did. He had been the one to end things, but that was only because he didn’t want to put you in danger anymore. He didn’t want to be the thing that ended your life. But that didn’t stop the thoughts from roaming his head.
“And I don't want nobody else but you
You the girl in my dreams every night
You the reason that I let the sun come through”
You had been the best thing in his life, but he had let his life come in between that. He hadn’t wanted harm to come to you. But just that had happened. All this dealing with the Yakuza had made them take you hostage. They wanted to make him hurt.
So when he had finally gotten you back from them. When he had finally gotten you settled at home he had left, running away with nothing but a note on your nightstand. He couldnt’ bear to tell you to your face that you were better off without him.
You were in his dreams every night since then. Your face haunted every single thought that he had. He told himself day after day that he had to move on, but he couldn’t do that. He wanted you, nobody else.
His thoughts always went back to the countless mornings that you would wake up and roll over to tell him the same thing every time. “You’re the reason that I open those blinds every morning, Izaya.” You’d smile and climb over him, straddling his lap and pressing soft kisses to his cheek. “You’re the reason that I let the sun come through. You’re my light.”
Those words were on repeat in his head. He reached for the beer bottle on his coffee table and took a sip, tightening his grip around the bottle as he fought back the urge to let a tear loose.
“Girl, I'm sorry for the things that I've done
Always starting shit and put you in a dumb mood
Always pushing you away, but I pushed too hard
Now you're gone, what a dumb move
'Cause you're the person I'mma run to”
Izaya’s work had always gotten in the way of your relationship, but you had tried hard not to let that bother you. He knew how hard you tried to ignore it. That didn’t stop him from feeling horrible about it. He had tried to push you away some, despite how much he always regretted himself for it after. He wanted you to make the decision on your own.
He would get angry when you questioned him about when he was going to spend some time with you. He tried to understand where you came from, but his work was his life and he wanted nothing more than to succeed. He wanted to make a better life for not only himself but for you as well. He had gone about that wrong.
His anger would always put you in horrible moods. And when you had left him the first time he should have left you alone.
When you had finally decided that enough was enough he should have left it at that. But something inside him said that he had to have you back. He just couldn’t let you get away. He loved you too much.
You were always the person that he ran to when he needed help. You were the person that he always leaned on. And now you were gone.
“Look, I understand why you had to leave
'Cause I was treating you so bad, that your family
Could see through the fake smile that you had with me
I wish you didn't go, but also know you had to leave”
Izaya had heard the words that your family always spoke. He heard the conversations on the other line. You had been sure that the phone speaker wasn’t loud enough, but he heard them say that you needed to move on.
You would object to their statements. You always did, but he knew that deep down you would think for a long time about them.
They would say that you always seemed like the feelings you had weren’t real. They called your smiles fake and said that you only did them to fool the family. You only wanted them to think that you were truly happy.
Izaya wished that he hadn’t pushed you away that first time, but he knew that it needed to be done. He understood why you had left, but his heart wanted you to be with him.
“'Cause I was toxic, found a way to talk shit
Accusing you of things you didn't do, I know I'm not shit
So leaving me to better you, is better than the option
To stick around with me, I just hate that I caused it
I hate that I caused it”
Izaya had done nearly everything to push you away the first time. He was toxic. He was rude. He played every game he could think of. Izaya even went as far as accusing you of being unfaithful.
He claimed that you had found yourself in the arms of one of his enemies.
So you chose to leave. You told Izaya that you needed to better yourself. You needed to get away. You weren’t going anywhere or doing anything with your life being with him.
You were beginning to see that sticking around with him was the worst option.
He hated that he made you feel that way, but he couldn’t do anything about how he felt about himself. He hated that he had wanted to put you in that position. But you would have been better off without him.
“'Cause I don't wanna hurt you
But I know I will
And I'm looking for the reason
For the way I feel
I didn't wanna lose you
But if I'm being real
Then you're better off without me”
He could feel himself slipping away from you and that’s when he knew that he needed to do what he did. He knew that eventually he would hurt you worse than he had ever wanted too. Worse than just heartbreak.
But Izaya never truly understood why he felt that way. He didn’t know why he knew that he would hurt you. He just knew.
So in the note that he left you on your nightstand he said “You’re better off without me.”
And it was the worst thing he had ever written in his life. The worst thing he had ever said to someone. And he truly meant it. No one could change his mind. Your life meant more to him than his own.
“I never really fell in love until I met you
'Cause that day out at the cabin, I felt something special
3 a.m, vibing, drinking beer on the couch
Remember? I was scared to even cuddle with you”
Flashbacks of how you met filled his head, another swig from the beer bottle filled his throat. The small feeling of forgetting starting to take over. That’s all he wanted to do. These memories were too painful.
When you had come to the cabin with a couple of friends of his and they had introduced you, he hadn't expected to be obsessed. But he was.
Everyone had gone to sleep, the two of you had been the only ones left in the living room, and he had never been more nervous in his life.
You hadn’t hidden your attraction to him. You made it very obvious in the hours after you had met.
You had looked at the clock as you both drank the last of the beers that were sitting on the small coffee table. Three in the morning. The fire burned in the fireplace and your laughs filled the room.
Izaya couldn’t remember the last time he had felt this way. The last time he had truly felt love.
Izaya had never been as nervous as he was right now. He was normally the tough guy. He had never had a problem showing affection for a woman he liked. But you were different.
You noticed his hesitation and went in yourself. Before you could even stop yourself, your body moved. You straddled his hips and pushed him back into the couch. Your lips pressing together as Izaya placed his hands on your hips. His fear almost instantly watching away.
“My heart's breaking 'cause I love you and I miss you
I'm thinking about the times where I'd cuddle and I'd kiss you
But I understand that I got a lot of issues
I just hope you know that it ain't easy to forget you”
Izaya shook his head, trying to get the memory to leave him. “Fuck.” He grasped the bottle tighter in his hand and down the last swig. “I miss her.”
Before he even realized what was happening the bottle soared from his hand, a scream leaving him at the same time.
A light switched on in the hallway and a figure appeared in the doorway of the living room. Namie had a sleepy, puzzled look on her face as she checked on her boss. “Izaya?”
Izaya rubbed his eyes and gave her a weak smile. “Everything’s fine Namie. Go back to bed.”
She gave him a worried look before turning back to head to her room. She knew better than to push Izaya when he was like this.
“I just-“ His voice was a whisper as he picked up his phone. He didn’t want to say anything else and have Namie come back out.
Izaya opened his messages, his finger instinctively finding your name and typed out a message he had never meant to send. Alcohol made him hit that button and made him throw his phone across the room after.
So when your phone lit up and you opened the message, your heart broke for him.
Izaya 💞 2:36am
I miss you so fucking much.

Let's talk about Kazuto Arase
Yakuza / Yakuza Kiwami , Yakuza 3 side content spoilers. Later on Yakuza LaD too, but I'll give a warning before that especially since a lot of people haven't played that yet.
So I have a lot of thoughts about Yakuza on my mind and just want to scream into the void about it somewhere to write 'em all down somewhere! I'm starting with... Arase.
Yeah, I know, a mostly very hated character (personality and battle-wise) that has so little screen time on top of it all too, is the first thing I'll be talking about.
Hear me out, I actually really love this character and only really started to appreciate him after I went for the Yakuza 3 platinum trophy... I've replayed this game so many times, I didn't mind it when I played through it first but seeing all the hate it has gotten, I went to replay it just in case and with that replayed it again and again because I just somehow loved it so much-
And you know, one part of Yakuza 3, also completion related so there was no way I could've missed it, were the Hitman missions. In general, after playing through all the main games I started to come back to a lot of characters I didn't like or minded the first time playing that are now some of my favourites (other examples are Tamashiro or Lau Ka Long, hell even Katsuragi)!
To come back to Arase, let's start with, well, the start: Yakuza / Yakuza Kiwami.
Introduced already in the very first Yakuza game, Arase is just there for a brief moment in the game, yet has a heavy impact on the game's story and Kiryu. It starts with Arase's oath brother Shinji being shot by Arases subordinate, Mochizuki, at least it looks like it. Shinji came here to rescue Reina, whose corpse then gets dragged on the roof of the Dragon Palace by Arase, Sergeant of the Nishikiyama Family. Now that's a pretty... heavy and sadistic first image for a character introduction, and honestly, his strong personality like that seemed also to be the reason he wasn't exactly loved by other members of the Family.
His battle theme in the first Yakuza game is called "Turning Point" which also puts more emphasis on how important this scene is, Kiryu breaking down, his scream when he sees Reina's body... It's really a turning point in the story.
In Kiwami, his new theme "Virtical Point" is also used as the intro song (or at least, the intro song "Vertical Point" is similar and shortened). Which also once again shows the importance of this piece.
Of course, he's not the most important character in the story, but it's still interesting to see how much there is around him other than his rather short appearance.
Then, his fighting style. Yeah, most hate this too and also the fact that starting from there, other bosses also sometimes use his moveset or a similar one. Like, take Jiro or Jo Amon or Andre Richardson... Basically just the usual dual wielding guns while being an athlete on crack - layout. It is actually not that bad, it's even less bad when you've got the right equipment but I have to admit I didn't really have that much good equipment when I first played all the games and basically just rushed through them because I just couldn't stop!
Arase's goal here of course was also to beat Kiryu but well, just like every other character ever, he couldn't do it and got beat instead.
And that's the end of that... The end of his part in the story and also the end of his part in the Nishikiyama Family, because he got disowned right after his failure.
Which is so... hmm... It makes me think. Many others have tried to take Kiryu down, too. And I mean, Arase was normally a very successful assassin, right? Yet this one failed attempt, at which everyone else too failed, got him disowned? Seems to me like they didn't like him and gave him an impossible task to have a reason to throw him out, huh?
And with that wonderful transition, let's get into his appearance in Yakuza 3.
You get introduced to the concept of the Honest Living Association, in short the HLA pretty much after Kashiwagis death. An association, founded by Kashiwagi to help Yakuza / former Yakuza who weren't meant for this life or just wanted out but just couldn't do in it on their own. For some, all they knew was the criminal life, so having a thing like this is especially helpful. Although, I'm kinda sad this was never a thing anymore after Yakuza 3. The whole concept of it was very cool.
Kiryu gets asked by Ibuki to help the HLA because there is an organisation of hitmen, also known as The Reapers (or The Avengers on PS3) whose goal was a different one than the HLA's, it was to kill Yakuza. The Reapers consisted of former criminals, mainly Yakuza, who were wronged by their superiours and expelled, disowned, you name it. Basically what happened to Arase.
Apprehending those hitmen is a totally optional part of the game and I have to admit, I didn't finish it my first time playing. Which is such a shame because it goes by so fast too when you play it after finishing the game! And the individual stories are all so interesting too, I've really enjoyed this side content and also replayed those missions already. You don't really expect someone like Arase to be behind all of it when it turns out to be him who is the founder and the leader of it all. I was already taken aback by Shinzaki being the lieutenant, or part of it at all. I often stopped by to listen to his guitar playing and talked to him, often asking myself is there's anything else up with him.
And once this one hitman contract came in and guitar playing was mentioned, I was just thinking "It can't be him...?", god, this whole side storyline just was so good. And here people come and say Yakuza 3 was a bad game.
The whole build-up to then reveal Arase was just so cool, honestly. It made me start to look more into his character after this confrontation. The fight was really cool too, just having to fight Shinzaki so many times wasn't really necessary, but Arase seems to like to fight alongside others, so fair enough.
And his theme "End Point" is also just so good. It's more similar to Turning Point than Virtical Point was. The name is also again fitting, since this is the end for The Reapers and Arases power.
It is made clear here that Arase has a strong hatred against the Yakuza and especially holds a strong grudge against Kiryu. He sees Kiryu as the reason he got wronged and had to leave the Yakuza behind, while also seeming to be very aware of the fact that the others there probably didn't like him at all.
He's so angry at him, he holds this whole speech and talks about revenge while Kiryu tries to talk some sense into him, eventually Ibuki also joins and tries to reason with Arase too. Telling him how that's what Kashiwagi wanted, even for Arase to find a new, honest life.
Arase is too strongly lead on by his grudges, so even though it seems like he might be thinking about turning his life around, he decided to not let them help him. Then he goes on about how he will definetly return to take revenge on Kiryu... Well. That's the end of that.
It becomes clear that Arases stubborn way of thinking is kind of childish. Not taking responsibility for any of his actions, thinking that his vile personality and actions are in fact the reason he got disowned. Failing to beat Kiryu was just the final puzzle piece to have a solid reason to throw him out. He's clearly unstable, doesn't think twice before shooting someone, he could turn on anyone and wouldn't be sorry for it. Just, he doesn't seem to really think about what he does.
I guess he probably thinks he's strong enough, he doesn't need to be careful. Also fitting for that is his fighting style in Dead Souls, how when he gets low on HP, he pretty much fends for himself, disregarding orders and just charging head first with full strength.
His Dead Souls appearance is also interesting. Okay, we all know, this game isn't canon, it's a spin-off and just doesn't fit in to the story. But it is interesting how he teams up with Kiryu for a bit and then leaves again. The game itself takes place after the events of Yakuza 4, meaning at this point RGG did remember that hey, they have a rival that swore to beat Kiryu one day. But after that... radio silence.
Really, this is such a shame. Just alone from his short appearances I can talk so much about Arase because he really is an interesting character with so much more potential! The only thing that's good about it is that he didn't die, making him technically one of the longest surviving characters in Yakuza which really is a great achievement.
Okay, we don't exactly know that he's still alive, but assuming due to there not being a mention of him being dead, he's probably alive. He might be, might not. Schrödinger's Arase.
One other thing I thought about is Jo Amon. I mean, his outfit and fight style is also similar to Arase, but that's not what I'm mainly thinking about. So the name Amon is for the greatest assassins, right? And they have a strong hatred against Kiryu at the beginning too.
So, putting those things together, Arase being a former assassin in the Nishikiyama Family, then the leader of a dangerous hitman organisation... Then, to fight Jo Amon in Yakuza 3 you also need to do all the hitman missions other than the substories and the IF7 fights. And to start the search for Amon, you also need to go to Ibuki again, where you got all the other hitman missions.
Yeah, it's a bit far fetched, but ... not too far fetched to think that maybe Arase and at least Jo Amon could know each other. I'd say, they could team up in a future game but. Well... Yeah.
Now some more things I thought about, I'll put a warning here though.
Yakuza LaD spoilers ahead!
Soooo, in this game we've gotten a couple of characters "back" ... Some more real than others... Thinking about Joon Gi's body double.
But one character that survived is Kashiwagi! Now the bartender of a bar named Survive. What a fitting name. After surviving such a heavy attack and believed dead by, well, everyone, it was the best approach to keep a low profile, start a new life. Also, he doesn't seem to be fit for any fighting after the incident.
So Kashiwagi is still there. And, now I just thought about, what if there was a possible redemption arc for Arase? Kiryu is believed dead now too, alone the fact that it seems that Kiryu never met Kashiwagi while being in the same area is kinda sad. I like to imagine they met each other...
I think it could go either way, Arase somehow got information on Kiryu being in Ijincho. He is a professional after all. Plus, by now Kiryu is also, well, not really working with... but. You know, not fighting with the Amon Clan anymore, even having Shin Amon to help determine Ichibans strength with the (True) Final Millennium Tower.
And, now, maybe there can be some other comnecting inside the Amon Clan and some info got out to Arase, ah, hell, I don't know, it's all so far fetched but I just like to have those possible headcanons of Arase somehow coming back!
Another possibility could also be Arase thinking Kiryu has died, just per chance being in the area and just going to the Survive bar? He'd probably be way more open about the thought of redemption and with Kashiwagi probably being pretty good at talking former Yakuza into that, given how the whole HLA was his doing.
Just... Thinking about possible things.
Yakuza LaD spoilers end here!
Well. That's that.
At the end of the day, the chances of Arase returning are pretty much 0, other characters you never thought of reappearing sometimes appear in one way or another, so it can be possible, but probably won't.
But one thing is clear, looking more into this character made me really appreciate him more. I guess that's the fact with a lot of characters, not just in Yakuza, but in general.
The characters in Yakuza are just so well written and even though it has some very weird and silly plot points and plot twists, I just love this game so much and looking more into it and replaying it is just so much fun.
I even started to like the minigames in Yakuza 3, even though I got very hopeless at the last pool opponent and the goddamn Mahjong completion, ugh. But at the end of the day it's all just really fun once you get the hang of it. It hasn't aged too well when you play it after the other Yakuza games, but replaying it on all the difficulties and then casually, then trying to beat it as fast as I can just made me love the game more and more every time.
So, uh... I don't know if it's a blessing or curse for me to often really like the characters that either everyone hates or have almost to screen time. Because well... there's such a lack of content and appreciation but hey that's what I'm writing this for!
I hope maybe someone starts to appreciate Arase more after this - if anyone even reads further after learning that I love this character. :D' I swear I tried to write it with as little bias as possible. I do know he's a morally very very grey character but after all, it's a video game character. (...There's no way I'll ever like characters like Yoneda...Ogita...Or Kume though... ugh)
Well anyway, with that, I go!
