Thinking about the new episode of cr and about Dorian and Orym but I’ve seen a lot of people making jokes about Dorian’s dad seeing everyone intrusive themselves and is like ‘wtf is that my son’ and so true so valid but consider.
You are the father of the Wyvernwinds, a family who essentially serves as royalty in their culture. Several years ago your youngest left, likely against your wishes, and just a short period of time ago your oldest dies, and now all of the worlds leaders are gathering to develop a plan to deal with a potential Calamity level event. You spot someone who looks similar to your only living son. He is then a part of the group of, frankly, hooligans who are fucked in the head brave and are gonna be the main task force against this event and summons your goddamn wyvern dragon horse, while wearing the sluttiest outfit you’ve ever seen, as well as a sending stone that matches with the halfling who approached you after who very clearly is fond of your son. Not to mention he doesn’t go by his birth name and title but is wearing gold to symbolize the death of his older brother. What would you do then

Just a quick note, but it is making me laugh that "Le Mal" means "the Bad" and Maxime means The Greatest. So his name just means "The Greatest (of) The Evil. "
ah yes...my favourite notorious supervillain:

This wouldn’t leave my mind…
[Ramble]
• I think something I just really like about their dynamic is that they’re both suppressive but in different ways. Rollo strives for a modest lifestyle, yet harbouring a bias that his way is superior, while Cloche tries her best to aim for true neutrality, where nothing is right or wrong/good or bad (but will be impatient if an inconvenience personally affects her (she is self aware of this but it can’t be helped)).
• I feel like Rollo can at least relish in his comfort and personal achievements (Crimson Lotuses), while Cloche rejects all feelings (not just negative). Plus, more positive expressions can be utilized by Rollo to enhance his reputation and amicability with his peers.
• The fact that these two are both supposedly inexpressive… Rollo looks angry by default (stated by others) while Cloche is just… there… looking bored/uninterested. Who knows, maybe Rollo could have a blank face the entire time but his sprites are made to be more expressive to give us, the player, a visual cue of how he really is.

I saw him at a birthday party once. All the older kids were down in the basement playing video games, to hide from everyone. He was down there, too. He was older than the rest of them, though.

His face during the meeting, the moment he first says "No." As he realizes what has just been said and decided, not just his dream being shattered right in front of him but also the chance they're taking away from all those kids just because Auradon is scared. The camera glosses right over it in the moment, but if you get a good look: he's reeling from it, literally backing away. The horror, frustration, and heartbreak is sinking in, and not even his own fiancée is on his side.
And the movie somehow wants me to believe he agreed with Mal and everyone else on this decision.

I understand not wanting your party members to walk into a lake and drown themselves but also Laudna has the fuckin WORST bedside manner lol. Yes, your much-needed long rest was just interrupted in a creepy abandoned town where you know weird charm-shit happened and the LAST thing you need right now is for anyone to lose focus. But also "Can you not wait? You can wait 5 minutes." talking to someone who has waited months and doesn't know if their loved one is even ALIVE and has confessed to you how much he misses them and how much it hurts and they could be outside breathing alive right now—
And on the surface, it looks like Chet is enabling a bad decision when he says "You probably heard Dorian. He's probably outside." and yeahh, okay, maybe he is a little bit. But right after that he's about to protest with something about Orym and it's like yeah. ORYM said he heard something. When has there been a time when ORYM heard something, and it wasn't real? How many times has Orym heard something and it's saved our asses? Before Chet is being hit with his own need to check out the lake, he's giving Orym the benefit of the doubt. And while he is an enabler by nature, he's keeping his voice soft rather than his usual, over-the-top "let's fuck around and find out" energy that he brings to dangerous situations like this.
You can't have everyone in the group treating a dilemma with the same amount of sympathy and care. What makes the BH so fascinating to watch is the variation in responses and different ways they interact with each other. You need a balance of someone who will take the cold, unyielding stance against something that is so obviously a trap, and someone that is aware of the risks but willing to speak up for that person and humor them when they're so clearly struggling.
I have a lot of feelings about Laudna and Chetney's instinctual responses and I think both stances are fascinating and they've both shattered my heart to pieces

i am 100% saying this with a bias as a ludinus fan and do not consider this some canon intention (mooostly) but just in the same way lucien was a ghost of a lost m9 member, destined to be in their party but in an echo of another life, i consider ludinus, in a way, the same - if more wraith than ghost. if lucien looks at the mighty nein and swears he cant recognize them as molly screams in his head they're family, ludinus looks at the bells hells and recognizes them instantly as himself, utterly alone but not alone, as some tiny part of him in essek's voice says "you should try friends sometime", and another screams that it's far too late.

I know Micah is supposed to be antagonistic from the start but I like to play it as if Micah and Arthur actually got along quite well at first, but then Dutch starts calling Micah son and it's actually a jealousy thing more than a moral thing at first that makes My Arthur decide he's a douche and that's when he starts to pay attention to the path that Micah is manipulating Dutch into leading the gang down

Made this image a few months ago and I feel like this is still very accurate to how I feel about "Beta Ambrosius was so much better!! We were robbed" take😬

(I'm speaking about the design/LOOKS specifically, not the character - campy Ambrosius from the novel is one of my favorite things abt the novel itself)

The thing about Forever and Bad is that they don't know how to deescalate, and they start at 100 straight from 0 every time with each other. They will spend hours arguing about semantics that don't matter. They will go to the extreme ends of pranks (which as fun as the audio remixes were, spending hours trying to find the source was literal hell genuine psychological torment). They will go for the throat just to antagonize the other.
So no, I don't think Forever knows a thing about Dapper or the other eggs whereabouts. He just knows better about the way Bad operates, the way he lies and deflects. He's familiar with his crafty words and how he turns a conversation on its head. He knows that what Bad is being accused of is entirely likely, that he is not who he usually is when the eggs are around. And he knows that Dapper, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is who Bad cares for most of all.
This isn't something he can argue hours about, to chip away little by little like he usually does. For both the safety of the worker, because the longer they're locked up surely the worse off they'll be - and for the safety of Bad, who if he wasn't under extreme watch by the Federation, he certainly is now, after Tubbo very loudly accused him in his Federation office.
He goes for the throat, immediately playing a trump card that he knows Bad won't just brush off or ignore, because as much as Bad can be unpredictable, Forever knows that Bad cares about the eggs as much as he does. As questionable as his morals are, as slippery as he can be to pin down, Bad has always placed the eggs as the highest priority - and he needs Bad to have no choice but to be honest, or to knock him off guard enough that he'll give him something to work with.
Is it fair? Maybe not. But when has Bad ever played fair with him?
