It's not that I want to fix Astarion. If he were at peace with himself, there would be no need for any intervention, there would be nothing to do. But the truth is, Astarion suffers, and he suffers a lot, and he needs help. The truth is that Astarion suffers because of the value system that was passed down to him and that he applies during the first act of the game every time he acts like an asshole. Because, first and foremost, the miserable soul in need of help—the kind he hates and refuses to help—is him. And he sees himself this way because of what he’s learned in 200 years of shit—pure shit! Because those who can't protect themselves and react are pathetic, worth nothing, and should die. And the only reason he wants to ascend is to kill that part of himself that he hates with all his being, that weak, pathetic part so helpless. So no, I don’t want to fix Astarion according to my moral standards, I just want him to stop suffering because of a cruel and dichotomous upbringing that traps him in a submissive position. With no other way out. Strong, weak, those who have power, those who don't, master, slave, etc. I don’t want to fix him, I want to love him. Just as he is. Because he is already perfect, because he deserves it, because what he needs is to love himself the way I love him. Unconditionally. And when Astarion learns to love himself, to accept himself, to be kind to himself, then he will be able to do the same for everyone else.

Need people who like superliminal to watch severance and people who like severence to play superliminal. Both go into extreme escapism as well as using liminal spaces to represent a sort of mindscape. Both are experiments. However, severence looks more into taking advantage of people looking for an escape while superliminal is run by someone who needed the escape. The difference offers an interesting perspective into the whole concept however because it leaves you with more knowledge to question the ethics and reasoning behind it all. If you truly endured the worst, would you consider putting yourself through this?
