it’s 9pm if i finish my stats revision now i would have completed all of today’s tasks which was a huge amount tbh and then i can ‘treat myself’ with the angel maker hannibal episode but that’s not a treat since it genuinely bothers me so i’ll turn it off and sleep ... the version of me in an hour doesn’t know what’s coming i’m going to get her so good

i don't care what u eat or how u cook but contrary to what every white millennial thinks the secret to making food taste good is not just adding too much garlic

Larry's random conversarion lines 🍙
Pokémon Masters EX spoilers ahead!
Random conversation 1:
Tumblr media
Ever since I met a certain individual, I now find myself gazing up at the sky every once in a while. There's scenery you'll never even notice if you stick to flat, well-trodden paths. Just something I've observed. I don't dislike the vast, clear sky... But I don't think I can reach it. It's nice to know that there's something like that out there, though.
Random conversation 2:
Tumblr media
Pasio seems to have many good restaurants. Ah, I'm not asking for specific recommendations, though... I actually enjoy walking around and looking for a place I might like. That's part of the experience. I seek the exceptional only when it comes to food. Pasio has a variety of cuisines to choose from, so it's hard to stick to just one.
Random conversation 3:
Tumblr media
(Player), which do you tend to favor: the exceptional or the average? I was thinking of inviting you to have a meal sometime. Casually figuring out your client's preferences is a special skill that you learn as a salaried employee.
Random conversation 4:
Tumblr media
Lunchtime is one of the few things that a salaried employee like me can look forward to at work... We can decide whether to spend that precious time eating something familiar or trying out a new restaurant. It's not just about the meal. The decision-making process leading up to it is also something to look forward to.
Random conversation 5:
Tumblr media
People, Pokémon... There's no need to overcomplicate things. Nowadays people only seem to want a shock factor. Something weird, something bizarre. When all's said and done, simplicity is strongest.
Random conversation 6:
Tumblr media
You don't necessarily have to follow every instruction from your boss. But I pretend to follow them, at least, so I can avoid hassles later on. That's a technique you can use to get by in the workplace. Keep it in mind.
Random conversation 7:
Tumblr media
I'm here in this famous tourist spot, but I can't really spread my wings while my boss has her eye on me. I guess I'll do what I usually do on my lunch break and find a spot to Roost...

Headcanon that Seven of Nine and Naomi actually find Neelix’s cooking to be fine because it’s the only food they’ve ever eaten/their first introduction to food and when they get to Earth everyone’s so excited to show them Alpha quadrant foods but neither of them likes anything they’re offered very much. Seven doesn’t really care either way except that she has to get used to a whole new palette and Naomi likes the obvious (Ex: candy, cake) but frequently complains that nothing tastes ‘right’. Naomi: -pushing away a slice of pizza- I don’t like it... Tom: You’re kidding me. You don’t like pizza? Naomi: It doesn’t taste right! Make it how Neelix used to. Tom: You want me to put gerhalorian beets and yuk mushrooms in the sauce so it congeals into a lumpy, slightly sour mess? Is that what you want, Naomi? Naomi: Yeah :(  I want Naomi and Icheb to work tirelessly together on a side project for years until finally doing it - being able to communicate clearly with those in the Delta quadrant! Icheb uses it to speak to the other borg children (now adults) and Naomi immediately uses it to call Neelix and ask him to find the nearest time portal and toss a big box of leola root into it. She’s been craving it for years! No one told her the Alpha quadrant didn’t have leola root, she wouldn’t have gone otherwise!

Oop here we go! Time for something messed up!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oooh here we goooo!
Time to figure out if the thing she finds sickening is the "concept" of eating food you cooked yourself, or if she can TASTE the sentiment that ends up in all her food, and so assumes that’s the same for everyone.
Maybe that’s why she’s coming to cooking lessons in the first place - not because she doesn’t know how to do it but because She can TELL the taste is off, but only for her, and now for Doumeki. She’s added an awful vibe to the lovely meal that only she can taste. Some type of deep seated resentment that’s only coming out in the cooking?
And this is such a foreign idea to Watanuki that he has absolutely no frame of reference.

(alternative title: photo dump of a midnight desert run)
#photography#Ford's Art#color says shit#it was either go on a twelve mile run or re-download grindr and get absolutely blasted so I went with the more responsible option.#b because damn I'm feeling it tonight. or at least I was before the run. I need to shower and then I'll cook dinner and go to bed satiated.#I did also jerk off under the bridge and then piss on someone's flowers on the way home. gotta get those animal instincts out somehow right?#anyway I've successfully vented most of my manic energy and a cold shower will finish it off and then we're good.#the mood meds have been helping a lot. last time I got hit with this kind of a mood I came out of it with huge bite marks and chlamydia.#and I haven't been feeling it nearly as bad this time so that's nice. more like a restless dog and less like a caged wolf thirsty for blood.#yes I'm making references to Call of the Wild again deal with it.#anyway sorry to anyone who sees this from the tags and not because you follow me. you didn't sign up for this lmao.#also. this is why I can't be a binary trans woman. this night photography shit is the most gay-man thing ever and I enjoy it.#I was doing it before my last boyfriend but he got me even more into it.#anyway bye I'm gonna go shower and then eat food. I've been hungrier more recently.#between the meds and the hrt my appetite is bigger and I'm gaining weight with the hrt fat redistribution which is cool and good.#I want to be a healthy weight and maybe even a lil chonky? we'll see we'll see.

when you ask a restaurant for spicy food and instead of cooking it in a way that makes the end result hotter they just obliterate all the flavor by dumping heaps of sriracha all over it after the fact
Tumblr media Tumblr media
#i will and have literally just thrown the whole dish away and started over somewhere else#if u dump Sriracha all over something to make it spicy I'm never ordering anything spicy from u again#like. are u tasting this..? is this a balance of flavors to you..? 🧍🏾‍♀️ if you must use sriracha can u at least use it towards the end of#the actual cooking process itself so it has time to mix with other flavors and seasoning? i cannot taste anything else!!#u might as well have cooked it plain then dumped this all over it for all I care ૮ – ﻌ–ა where are the sauces the salsas the array of spices#you can make things hot AND flavorful 🤌🏾 you can make something spicy AND nuanced#anyways I'm thinking about this bc i ordered spicy mapo tofu and it is spicier in a way i can't pin down And has a stronger#peppercorn flavor ☝🏾 this is how u handle spicy food perfectly‚ imo. it is my view that you have experience with the different#spices n seasonings and subsequent sauces if you can make that spicy during the actual cooking process#and idk shows more intention and care to the cooking process To Me and the spicy lvl is taken into consideration from the start#i KIND OF fw Sriracha but i think it becomes overpowering very quickly‚ i just want a few light globs of it at a time#an Accent of Sriracha 🤌🏾 a taste that is present and pronounced but doesn't take away from anything else#i take my cooking and spicy food seriously ૮ – ﻌ–ა there are SO many good ways to make ur food hotter. this ain't it#it's 4am and I'm about to go to sleep so these r just late night ramblings of a girl picking at her leftovers like this is it.. peak spicy#a truly well executed dish 🤌🏾 thank you i love you. satisfying..

"What would the Fabricator eat...?"
(Transcription under the cut)
Francisco: I'm now thinking we should have added more food in this level... Charlie: It is noticeably missing, isn't it? Francisco: Yeah! Charlie: What would the Fabricator eat? What's her favorite snack? I'm thinking, like... a little dessert. Like a French bonbon or something. Francisco: Yeah... Maybe it's a scorpion sandwich with a chaser of antidote. Charlie: Ohh, yes! I think she would like- in the same way that people like spicy food, she would like poisonous food, and then antidote chasers. Francisco: Yeah... Charlie: ... That's horrible!

if your long term eating disorder treatment clinic doesn't include teaching people to prepare and cook food i feel like you're setting many patients up for failure. many people with EDs were raised by people with EDs, and public schools (in the US at least) have almost entirely discarded cooking education.
when i moved in with my bf, who spent time inpatient several years ago, there was hardly anything in his fridge besides, like, cauliflower "rice". & it wasn't just because his ED made it difficult to buy food: he didn't know what to buy! i'd ask what his parents made growing up and they didn't. his mom's ED is worse than his & his dad considered "plain ground beef fried in a pan" to be a "meal."
add that diet culture is pervasive in mainstream food education. even normal-seeming cookbooks will describe some recipes as "guilt free" here and there. influencers are obviously even worse. to avoid it you have to know where to look, and for someone in a vulnerable state of mind, it's far easier to not look at all.
this led my bf to cooking the same few things with the same overpriced ingredients day in and out. he also ordered out, or bought preprepped meals, but he couldn't always afford that, and went hungry the rest of the time. he knew, from treatment, that fats are necessary, that sugars are necessary, that carbs are necessary. but without any knowledge on HOW to incorporate these foods in his diet, he just didn't.
& it seems like such a natural thing to include in treatment. you want to desensitize people to being around food? you want to give them positive experiences with food, including social activities like eating as a group? well, why not cook as a group? have a day when we all make cookies or a big stew! or cook 1-on-1 with your therapist during a session sometimes! install a stove, sink and fridge into their office, follow a recipe together, TEACH! you can't just tell people to incorporate all the macronutrients into their diets without telling them HOW!

Hey y'all! My brother and I have both been experimenting with cooking new things and could use some advice. Right now I'm mostly looking for savory spice mixes that include nutmeg, but if you have other spice combos you like to use together when cooking savory foods I'd love to hear them! I have my go-to handful of spices I like to use together for like desserts, but not so much for savory? I'm mostly just following recipes, and I'd like to know some more spice combos that work well together for when I want to improvise or expand on recipes

so since I may be free this summer after all, would anyone be interested in an RP event that's a potluck? I've been wanting to do it for ages but there's never any interest compared to other themes
for a discord rp, I would make a separate server explicitly for this purpose so you don't have to be in any guilds or anything! I would also delete the server (or at least channel, if people would like an event-planning server long-term) after a week - enough time for people to read over their stuff but not preserved forever and ever.

I fucking hate comment section under any "when I don't feel like cooking/ easy recipe" videos on YouTube cause fucking uuuughhhhhhh
We get that you hate cooking, eat your doshirak and leave us in peace I love instant noodles for me too from time to time
How people don't understand that there are A LOT of people who like to cook and eat homemade food. They look at the recipe that takes 15 minutes and start crying in the comments "It's tooooo loooooong you're still cooking...." I'm like damn.... She literally boiled a f pasta, cut some veggies and put them in the oven. What exactly is hard in that recipe???
