I actually have my own little head cannons about percy and annabeth's own family, and I'm gonna share them for no reason other than being annoying <3

Percy and Annabeth have lived in unstable homes throughout their childhood; I truly believe that they got married in their early twenties after college

Annabeth hyphenated her last name! She becomes "Annabeth Chase-Jackson" because she loves the Jacksons and is a part of their family while also keeping her last name because she's THE Annabeth chase and it's iconic

I think that they always wanted kids together, but it was always a thought for the future, even when they got married and were busy with their careers

So yes, their first kid was a total surprise, but a very happy one

They were the first of the hoo group to have a kid

Their first kid's a boy (ik unpopular opinion), with blonde hair and green eyes.

I always imagined they'd named their kids something both unique and greek, with maybe a middle name after a lost hero? Giving the first name of a lost hero sounds painful, and also defeats the whole purpose of Sally naming Percy after the only greek hero with a happy ending. An example I like is Amycus Charlie Jackson. idk tho, something more normal makes sense too.

Amycus would probably be a stereotypical angel first child tbh

Because they had their first kid so early on, I think their second would be a couple years later, I think around 4.

They'd have a girl next, Daphne Zoe Jackson, with Percy's raven hair and Annabeth's gray eyes. She'd be a little more troublesome lol, but in a loving way!

I honestly think 2 kids are good enough but my heart says they'd have 3. He'd be a surprise baby, and on the younger end of the hoo group's kids (if not the youngest). I haven't thought of much characterization for him yet, but he'd get Sally's blue eyes for sure.

And they live a great life in New York, I'm sorry but they aren't moving to New Rome! Especially Percy, he's a New Yorker through and through

Annabeth works from home from time to time as an architect, mostly to spend more time with her kids, especially when they're babies.

Percy has a pretty chill job doing something in marine biology or marine vet, so he's there for the kids plenty too

Sally babysits the few times both of them are busy

1. same! some people think they don’t get married, but i hate the reasons why most people think that. as demigods, percy and annabeth didn’t grow up in a stable family setting. i think they would want that stability, and to do normal stereotypical couple things, because they crave as much normalcy as they can get.

hi! i just want to clarify first of all that im pro palestine, but a lot of people in my life aren't. ive been looking for ways to convince them but tbh im kind of lost. ive tried showing reports from websites like al jazeera but that's been dismissed out of hand because they're a middle east jounral and thus must be biased (pointing out that stuff like cnn then must be biased too because they're american hasn't worked lol). so, do you know of more "unbiased" resources/journals/etc, or anything that can argue for palestine? sorry if this is badly worded its pretty late. appreciate everything you've done btw 🇵🇸

No worries, I totally understand where you're coming from.

I guess I wanna ask for clarification—do you know what resources they personally are willing to accept? I can provide from Jewish scholars/voices if that'll help.

The issue is, not many USAmerican/European sources are unbiased, and they often spout imperialist propaganda. So if they're looking primarily for those types resources, I'm afraid I cannot really give you too many.

This list was a little difficult because I can't say I'd always recommend these sources (except, well, Angela Davis—I really look up to her—and Institute for Palestine Studies), but it could be a good introduction if they're rejecting other places that have more reliable reporting. If they're willing to accept these places/people, then you could move on to more Palestinian led sources.

I don't know if this helps, but you could say that they should listen to the Palestinian's POV because you'd always asked the people directly involved in a situation what their viewpoint is? Might help shift their understanding.

There are more sources that I thought about adding, but I need to look into them a little more. I might add on to this list later.

As for Papyrus.. its complicated.

Papyrus had accepted long ago that Sans and all his friends were gone. And that he was never going to see them again.. It really hurt. And it took him a very long time to accept that fact. But he did. He knows in his soul that his true brother is gone..

That didn't make seeing "Sans" again any less painful though. He probably saw a Sans through the trees in a new Snowdin. Man, I cant imagine how he felt.

The whole multiverse thing was explained to him by Frisk. He knows that's not his Sans. He knows its not him. But gosh. Its been so long since he's seen his brothers smile. What he would give to hear one of his silly puns again. What he would give to hear his voice.. to just.. to hug him one last time..

Frisk would grab Papyrus' hand, "Papyrus.. we need to go.. please, common.."

Seeing the other Papyrus walk into view and begin talking to that Sans.. He recollects himself. Its not him. Sans is gone. He's been gone for a very long time..

With tears streaming down his face, he would find the strength to grip Frisk's hand.. and turn away.

I didn't intend to ever draw Frank and Eddie in a romantic light.. becuase yeah like you said, I just don't really like ships. Or honestly any romantic content that isn't my own OCs. Idk I just don't really enjoy drawing it--

But that's kind'a what I feared about the Welcome Home fandom if I'm being honest. I felt like people were really protective over Eddie and Frank. And if I revealed that I wasn't interested in drawing them as an item, canon or not? I felt like I would get a loooot of backlash.

But hey, I found a loophole. Just don't draw them together and there wont be any drama! :D It sucks though becuase Frank is a big part of Eddies lore and all his flashback shenanigans-

Well the strongest would be Blue Beauty by far- but looking at the smaller cookies? I think Seafoam is probably the strongest. But that's mostly due to him being so big. He's the biggest cookie on the crew and most of his strength just comes from packing more weight to his punch.

Though another toughy on the ship would be Louis. He may not be very big. But boy that crab arm? He has a grip strong enough to break cookies in half. And enough upper body strength to take your pieces and chuck em overboard--- 💀💀💀I wouldn't mess with either of them tbh--

As for the bounty.. that's a good question. :0 I wanna say Seafoam because he's the Captain an all.. but I really like the idea of Cuttlefish having this dark past and a surprisingly huge bounty over her head- 👀👀

Its a very interesting prompt. Usually we think of Captain Barnacles as very level headed and calm. He seems like one to bounce back from any situation and keep leading the team no problem. But man. After something like that? That's gotta scare him to his core.

I can see Barnacles being more tense and not wanting any of the crew to stray too far from him or the Octopod. I can imagine that he would give Kwazii a lot of time to recover, a lot more than he actually needs. And maybe even going as far to forbid him from going on certain missions.

But after a little time and maybe a talk with Kwazii. I'm sure both Kwazii and the Captain would recover from the experience and continue on as normal.

“I can’t figure this out.” You grunted feeling frustrated at not having any clue what music notes you should use. “There has to be something I could use… no wait I could just ask for help.” You got your instrument and walked out of the house.

“Ok but who can I ask first.” Then it immediately came to you “duh Sally she all into the arts as well i’m assuming it’s also music.” You practically ran towards Sally’s place. 

When you made it you knocked on the door thankfully she was inside her home “huh? Oh! (y/n) the neighbors most graceful musician, what brings you to my lovely abode?” “I’m here because I need your help with my first song and need the neighbors help as well, I need all perspectives after all.” You asked desperate for help.

“Of course I love music after all music and the theater work hand and hand together, just wait here for me.” She closed the door before you can respond “she’s more excited about this than I am.” You spoke to yourself then you see that Wally was walking near Sally’s place.

“Hey Wally!” You called out he then turned his attention to you, he walked towards you “hello (y/n) how are you.” “I need help, me and Sally are gonna tell all the neighbors about me needing help to make lyrics and tune.” He seemed to take it all in “wow I would love to help (y/n).” Wally agreed, happy to learn more about music.

“Great! I was thinking we will all meet at home, home loves music I’m they would love to help as well.” He nodded his head “oh home would love to help.” Just then Sally door open “ok I’m ready… oh walliford! You are coming to help (y/n) as well?” “Yes I am Sally, I would love to learn more about music.”

You told Sally that you’re going to home since Wally and you know home would like to help so she agreed. You noticed that she brought a speaker “hey what’s that for?” You questioned “oh for this.”

“EVERYONE MEET AT HOME WE ARE GONNA HELP (Y/N) WITH THEIR FIRST SONG.” she immediately turn the microphone off “was that really necessary?” You questioned “I’m not gonna go to each and every person that is to much work.” Explained sally “seems fair.” You replied.

You, Wally and sally made it at home “hey home.” You said and home seems to say hello back with his creaks “home said hello back.” Answered Wally “oh then I guessed right, learning Morse code is hard tho.”

“I’m glad you’re learning (y/n) and I know home especially appreciates it.” Based on the creeks you knew that home agreed “of course home is a neighbor too.” You assured, setting your instrument against as home, thankfully home didn’t mind.

You then see the other neighbors coming towards you guys “is it true what sally said (y/n)?” Questioned poppy “yeah I thought it would be easy at first but… it’s taking me two weeks now.” You admitted “Oh I’m so excited we all wanted to know a bit more about music, especially me.” Cheered Julie as she dragged frank with her.

“I do agree with Julie, I learned through books that music helps with the brain and makes it stronger so I would like to see how music works.” Agreed frank as he carried music notes book with him “we would all love to help and we get to teach the new neighbor’s.” Spoke Wally as he seemed pleased to teach the audience.

“All right so let’s get started then.” You stated bringing out your instrument “we’re ready.” Spoke Sally other agreeing.

You played a couple notes and asked for suggestions they all gave you pretty good suggestions except for Wally, Julie and frank who kept asking about you’re instrument, didn’t mind teaching them especially for the neighbors watching, after all kids need to learn.

“Ok guys I think I’m getting a tune, this is amazing my first song.” You said in amazement “we’re so glad to help dear.” Replied poppy “yeah this is really interesting stuff love hearing the tune already.” Spoke howdy. “There’s still something missing tho.” You still couldn’t find the missing piece of the song.

“You forgot lyrics.” Answered frank “Right of course I need great lyrics.” You replied “no worry we just need to know what style of song you want to do, I think some with jokes would be fantastic!” Barnaby Suggested “no way one words of love and passion would be grande.” Butted in Sally “I think something like the mundane things or country feel to it would be good.” Spoke Eddie, “creek, screek… creek” “home said he likes the idea of folklore.” Answered Wally.

“Hey this (y/n) song, only they should be the one deciding this it’s their first song after all.” Advised Poppy “thanks poppy hmmm I think my lyrics will be about (your choice).” “Great choice (y/n).” Agreed Frank “yeah it’s sounds fun… wonder what it would sound like.” Replied Wally.

“No worry you guys are about to be amazed!” You boasted already getting a good idea for lyrics “really that was fast.” Spoke Eddie “yeah it was really the tune I needed help with honestly.” You admitted “well we can’t wait to hear the song, take it away (y/n)!” Cheered Julie.

Home agreed with creeks seeming excited to see what you came up with, You let go of your nerves and begin to play the instrument then begin singing. you didn’t expect it to sound so good together, but you didn’t notice that it enchanted all your neighbors.

“Wow.” Whispers Wally glad he now knows what music is and seeing how good you are in music. After the song was done, all the neighbors cheered “wow you did lovely (y/n).” Complimented Poppy “you must play your music in my next play if anything for once I’ll allow to be a star or better in fact the second star for the next show.” Spoke sally hoping you agreed.

“Sally that sounds great and Thank you poppy, thank you all, no worry I didn’t forget about you home.” You replied home seemed very happy “glad that we helped (y/n), you left everyone dumbstruck.” Spoke howdy.

“Funny enough kid you inspired me to make a music joke.” “Alright let me hear it.” You replied “what do you get when when you drop a piano down a mineshaft?” “A what?” “A-flat Minor!”

This made all you and the rest of the neighbors laugh “good one barnaby.” Complimented Julie “thanks Jules.” “Can’t wait to hear more from you (y/n).” Spoke Wally “thanks definitely will be officially performing.” You stated making everyone cheer.

Everyone eventually left one by one giving more compliments and their goodbyes before they left. You were now at home feeling glad that, you finally made you’re first son especially with all you’re friends.

No, but I could have so much fun playing with the perception of canon to lean buddie towards romantic, but mostly on Eddie's side because I stand by the fact that Buck doesn't realize what he's feeling. Because in season 3, Eddie basically tells Frank that he boxed his emotions so much he's not feeling anything, positive or not. And that begs the question of when did the box started to crack. We know it explodes in season 5, but that's because he couldn't contain it anymore, so when did it start to break? My bet, the well. What the did the well trigger? Eddie changing his will. And hiding it. The hiding it part is important because why would he hide it until he had an excuse to say it that was about Buck not himself? He almost died and his reaction is to give Buck the single most important thing in his life. And season 4 Eddie, he's more open but the box is still there, until the shooting. Say whatever you want, Eddie reached for Buck. He thought he was going to die and reached for him. That was Eddie oh! moment and I will die on this hill. But terrible moment to have an oh! moment, because he's, yk, dying. Then he used whatever energy he had left to ask Buck if he was hurt. Did he ask because he knows Buck enough to know he would ignore himself if someone he cares about was worse? Did he ask because he needed one of them to make back to Chris? Did he ask because he just realized he loves Buck and needs to make sure he's okay before dying? Who knows, I like the last one tho.

But then he wakes up in the hospital. With Ana, the girlfriend he was really intense for a second there but then we had doubt thrown on it by having Carla imply that the reason he's with her is Christopher. And then Buck tells him it would've been better if he was the one who got shot, and now he can tell Buck about the will while making it about Buck, not him (Edmundo Diaz say I love you like a normal person challenge). Maybe he was working himself up here to say something else, waiting for him to be healthier? I mean, he knows Buck associates pain with love so he wouldn't do a bedside confession. But then Taylor Kelly is in his welcome home party. And that's a reminder that Buck is straight (debatable) so he stays with the girlfriend we now have doubts about and who his doubts about will evolve to full on panic. Per season 6 he doesn't remember details of the shooting, but it would be great for dramatic purpose if he was lying because he can't say whatever he realized when he hit the ground.

But we keep going, he likes Ana, maybe he can love her, but that fails miserably. Isn't interesting that he needed Buck's permission to breakup with Ana? But then he swear off dating again. Which makes sense considering the fact that the box was about to blow and he was minimizing the amount of people that would be around when it did. But the box blowing up made him work on dealing with feelings in a healthier way. The first crack on the box made him sure of Buck, and Buck was with him all throughout him dealing with having no more box. And now there's no more Taylor Kelly. Eddie's single, Buck's single, and he's living in this bubble where he can pretend things are moving to the direction he wants them to, without actually doing something about it. Buck's is cooking dinner for him and Chris, he's asking Buck about things Chris hid from him. But then his bubble got popped. By Buck dying (if we believe Oliver, there was some sort of reaction shot from Eddie that we missed) but even with just what we got, he was acting like a grieving partner.

And after that we actually see Eddie being around Buck more. Does he want to be there if Buck breaks over dying? Is he just convincing himself Buck's still alive? Who knows. But he's also being pressured into dating again (after that poker game, tell me that wasn't a date, I dare you) but he's still ignoring it while hanging on to Buck. Until Buck blindsided him with Natalia. It's interesting that Eddie is hostile to every girl that shows interest in Buck, he looked like he could fight Abby, he looks like he poisoned Taylor. But he's not like that about Natalia, his main worry is actually if it's a good idea to date someone else he met in a call. And it is a choice to have Eddie looking that heartbroken while Buck talks about dating, then deciding he's ready to date (he's accepting the fact that he's gonna be Buck's best man and needs to move on). But he's settling, he's chasing what he knows (what he had with Shannon) to feel something. And to use that perception of the facts could be fun.

Also here I rest my case for Eddie fell first. But mostly because Buck is loud with his emotions and if he realized he's in love with someone that deeply he would start vibrating in such a frequency that there would be no hiding it. Dude is gonna have his oh! moment and have wedding rings later that day.

Molly: (based on persona) secret demon being attached to Nina

Mollys kind of a strange case. Not quite puppet not quite...other creatures. She popped into existence around the time nina was born, hence the shared birthday. Shes a bit scatter brained, very easily distracted but once she has her mind set on something, nothing can get in her war. She's quite inquisitive and is constantly asking questions. Her first day in the neighborhood was basically asking every neighbor she met the most wild and intrusive questions she had. Little to no filter, says exactly whats on her mind. Doesnt understand why that makes some people so uncomfortable. Isnt it good to be curious? To tell the truth? To be honest? Man these creatures are strange. Also doesnt have any boundaries, is an absolute open book and for some reason is suprised when not everyone else is too. Think of her almost like a more unhinged wally, very naive to the ways of the waking world, but well verse in the night time activities. frequently takes long walks alone in the middle of the night. she sees them. she knows them. she keeps them away. some have gotten a bit too close to the neighborhood for comfort, is it because of her? do they know shes one of them, if not atleast similar? shes suspicious wally knows whats going on, its not normal for these beings to be here, but what draws them in?

^ongoing plot line of Molly spying on Wally constantly. A bit obsessive with him-she cant tell WHAT he is but she knows he isnt like the other neighbors but hes also not like her. Ninas quite normal actually. She was raised by a normal family within normal circumstances, but found herself with the strangest imaginary friend. She was never quite sure why one day everyone was suddenly able to see Molly but shes glad she finally isnt crazy. Now she cant get rid of the annoying asshole. Stuck with this annoying ass demon puppet thing, Nina moves to the neighborhood to get a new start on independence. With her new home, Nina spends most of her days painting, sewing, crocheting, and sculpting. Of course she always has her music going on, its never quiet in the house. Wally spends lots of time with her, they will frequently setup figure drawing sessions where their fellow neighbors will pose for them. Howdy seemed more than happy to constantly volunteer, maybe a tad bit overzealous to show off his muscles. Nina was more than excited to have such an interesting subject to create art of, although with Wally by her side, he always seemed to end up drawing an apple. There wasn't even an apple in the set. Nina doesnt care, shes just happy to have her little darling with her!

Despite being easily excitable and down to earth, shes actually quite timid and easily flustered. Howdys first few advancements had Nina trying to come up with some sort of lie so she could hurriedly get out of the bugdega and hide her beet red face. After this its just the rom com do they like me pinning i love so much lol

Unlike the other neighbors, she is somewhat aware of what goes bump in the night. Shes not sure what exactly it is, but she knows its dangerous...and she knows Molly has too much fun dealing with it. Despite Mollys homicidal tendecies, Nina is NOT scared of her. Shes aware of the fact that without her, Molly wouldnt have a host to stay alive. She cant do anything to harm her and even if she did, Ninas not afraid to grab her by the tail and launch her into the sun (Molly is actually somewhat intimidated by Nina, so she shows some level of obedience).

What do you think Humphrey would've been like as King?

It's difficult to say, exactly - a lot of would depend on when he became king because it would change the kind of problems he was dealing with and how well he was able to adapt to them, as well as how others would react to him.

I'm going to assess him as a potential king on the basis of character, the French problem, succession and scandal.

Character

As Lord Protector, duke and king's uncle, Humphrey was a bit of disaster. He showed an ineptitude in politics, his independent military campaigns were flashy but insubstantial, he caused a diplomatic incident with his first marriage and a scandal with his second, he jeopardised the Anglo-Burgundian alliance by marrying Jacqueline of Hainault and pursuing her lands, he was argumentative and took everything personally. As David Rundle succinctly puts it, Humphrey was "hot-headed, cack-handed and tight-fisted". His chief failing, imo, was his inability or failure to adapt to changing circumstances - namely, to doggedly pursue and promote the policies of Henry V at a time where they were no longer viable.

Humphrey does have some potential good points. As regent during Henry VI's coronation expedition to France, he seems to have conducted himself well and there were no complaints about his behaviour. He responded quickly and effectively to the threat of the Jack Sharp rebellion and there are no known conflicts between himself and parliament or the minority council. This time seems to be remembered as a period of stability and may have helped shape the legend of "Good Duke Humphrey".

Before we give Humphrey a whole cookie for this, it's important to remember some points. One - he was aided immensely by his rival, Cardinal Henry Beaufort, being out of the country. Two - he appointed his own choices to important positions, i.e. as chancellor, which meant he was surrounded by men willing to work with him and unlikely to seriously oppose him. Three - his responsibilities were largely focused on the domestic so he wasn't dealing personally with France or Burgundy, his chief weaknesses. Four - what followed after his tenure as regent was more conflict within the council ruling for Henry VI, the failure of Henry VI's personal rule and the Wars of the Roses which means that Humphrey probably looked much better by comparison.

Some of those who studied Humphrey (e.g. Kenneth Vickers, Frank Millard) have suggested he might have been better as king or regent than he was politician and counsellor. Vickers, at least, seems to have been opinion that the chief problem with the minority council was that there were too many discordant opinions given equal weight and England would have been better-served by a regency where there would be one ruler.

Humphrey to Vickers' mind wasn't great but he was no worse a candidate than Cardinal Beaufort. Millard is far more optimistic and sees in Humphrey a personality that was more suited to ruling. I do wonder if Humphrey really would be that open to counsel, especially if the counsel went against his own will or criticised his policies, and I doubt the premise of one regent would have been the cure Vickers thinks it was - Edward II and Richard II were both deposed in part because of their failure to maintain cordial relationships with their nobles which is a problem I can see Humphrey having. Vickers seems to have held Cardinal Beaufort in less esteem than Humphrey so the idea of Humphrey as a regent was more appealing than Cardinal Beaufort.

It's possible, I think, that he could rise to the occasion and be a decent king, at least on the domestic stage. But this also would depend on whether he was able to move beyond his quarrels with some members of the aristocracy (most notably Cardinal Beaufort) and keep them onside - if not, he might end up facing similar problems that Edward II and Richard II did.

Of course, this all depends when he became king. If it happened in the 1440s, for example, he might not have had the heart or strength to maintain the quarrels of his more impetuous years.

The French Problem

Part of Humphrey's popularity came from his opposition to the policies of Henry VI in France. But as the saying going, it's much easier to be in opposition than it is to govern.

On the sidelines, he could easily call for expensive, impractical but flashy campaigns while knowing that they would never get off the ground. As king, he would be well aware of the dire state of the treasury and responsible for funding the campaigns. This might have led him to be more realistic and find a more viable alternative, or to adopt the strategies he'd been opposing. Depending on when he became king, he might have found that there was no better alternative that cutting English losses and running.

France was always a tricky subject for the king to pursue. Peace with France was often controversial - Richard II's 27-year truce was famously unpopular, despite the length of the truce and the massive gains it brought him. Even if Humphrey got a truce with good terms or even something as desirable as the French agreeing to honour the terms of the Treaty of Bretigny (made by Edward III in 1360), it could still damage his popularity. Moreover, Henry V's Treaty of Troyes was still in recent memory and the betrayal of its terms might have been particularly disastrous.

This also supposes that the English claim to France was viable after the loss of Henry VI (whether we're talking about a case whether he was never born or his death). The Treaty of Troyes confirmed the throne of France on Henry V and his heirs and Henry V was careful to emphasise that included the possibility of his brothers as his heirs, and of course Humphrey inherited the same claim to the French throne as Henry V did. But it must have been known that a son of Henry V and Catherine de Valois was much easier to sell to France than Henry V's brothers. One was Charles VI of France.'s grandson, the other was the great-great grandson of Philippe IV of France.

Of course, we also have the question of whether Humphrey would be willing to abandon the Treaty of Troyes when he was so fiercely protective of Henry V's legacy. Then, it depends on when he came to that realisation in time to get a good deal or whether he was better at negotiating his way out of a flaming dumpster fire than William de la Pole, Duke of Suffolk was when he negotiated the Treaty of Tours.*

Succession

Childless monarchs tend not to do well and even a lengthy wait for a heir could be a problem, as Henry VI and Margaret of Anjou found out. The lack of children tended to result in anxiety about the future of the dynasty and could well be seen as a personal failing of the monarch.

Humphrey had no legitimate children from his two marriages. We don't know why this was. Humphrey fathered two known illegitimate children so it seems likely that it was widely believed his lack of legitimate children were due to his wives' infertility.** If he became king, he might have believed he should "bow to necessity" and have his marriage to Eleanor Cobham annulled. This might have been personally disastrous, given he evidently cared about her, potentially scandalous, and likely devastating to Eleanor, who would lose her status and her husband. But it would have benefits to Humphrey-as-king. It would allow him to make a diplomatic alliance with a continental power, could result in the birth of heir(s) to continue the Lancastrian dynasty, and given the scandal of his marriage to Eleanor, it might have helped rehabilitate his reputation.

However, had Humphrey succeeded in fathering a legitimate heir, it might backfire. Assuming he succeeded when John, Duke of Bedford died (September 1435), fathered an heir at some point afterwards and still died in February 1447, any child would still be a minor which tended to mean trouble for the realm and trouble for the child-king (cf. the unrest around Edward III's minority, Richard II and Henry VI).

Humphrey might have chosen to maintain his marriage to Eleanor - after all, he didn't remarry after their marriage was annulled in 1441. In that case, he might have stayed quiet on the succession, as Richard II did, or openly acknowledged an heir from amongst the nobility - probably, Richard, Duke of York.

Humphrey seems to have a cordial relationship with York*** so he may have been able to avoid the problems that York gave Henry VI. York was unlikely to complain about being overlooked and underappreciated by Humphrey, they seem to have been on the same page in regards to France, and it's possible that Humphrey would have been content acknowledging York as his heir. It is, however, possible that by favouring York, Humphrey would end up antagonising Suffolk and/or Somerset into opposing him.

Scandal

Honestly, top marks for Humphrey here. We'd love to be talking about an English king knowingly married a married woman (admittedly, when she was trying to have her marriage annulled), how he had an affair with his bigamist wife's lady-in-waiting and married her and how his doctor wrote a medical treatise warning about the dangers of too much sex. Hell, the historians obsessed with the idea that his grandfather had an STD or syphilis would have a field day with him. To say nothing of the scandal around his mistress-turned-wife (turned queen?) who was accused of being a witch who seduced Humphrey with magic spells.

(Did I take a moment to image the foul historical fiction and "history books" that'd be written about Eleanor and shudder? Yes. But still, top marks for scandal.)

All of this is just stuff he did as the Duke of Gloucester. If he'd annulled his marriage to Eleanor, there's another scandal - especially if he carried on having an affair with her (a not unknown occurrence for noblemen forced to give up their lovers) or if she or his new wife died not long after. If Eleanor and Humphrey had a miracle baby, there would have probably been accusations of adultery or changelings, as there were for Margaret of Anjou.

There's also Humphrey general messy bitch status and the intrigue and drama of his quarrels would provide entertainment for years. He may have also been secretly a goth. If we're truly desperate, one of his servants wrote a book that featured a verse about medieval toilets. Not necessarily scandalous but it does tell us how a medieval nobleman pooped.

Conclusions

In short, I think Humphrey would be a fun king to talk about. A dumpster fire with more than enough sex scandals - and all without murdering any of his wives. He might have finally matured under the pressures of kingship and been a decent king or flailed his way through to the end - or he might have gotten himself deposed. :(

* The Treaty of Tours was not solely Suffolk's responsibility; he seems to have been hamstrung by Henry VI's "peace at all costs" directive. It was an expensive, ineffective and short-lived peace treaty that set Margaret of Anjou up to fail as Queen of England. Humphrey seems to have favoured a better alliance (the Count of Armagnac over Rene of Anjou) but we have no idea if an Armagnac alliance would have resulted in a better situation than the Angevin treaty did.

** Jacqueline of Hainault was married four times, none of which produced children, and at least some of these marriages were consummated. There were rumours she was pregnant with Humphrey's child and the notoriously unreliable Alison Weir claimed that she and Humphrey suffered a stillbirth. The only known sexual relationship Eleanor Cobham had was with Humphrey and produced no children. Lauren Johnson suggested on Twitter that Humphrey's groin injury at the Battle of Agincourt may have left him unable to father children but this is purely speculative. We don't know when his illegitimate children were born to determine if they were born before Agincourt. Furthermore, Eleanor's attempt/claim to have sought out fertility remedies tend to suggest that if this was the case, it wasn't obvious to someone in intimate contact with him and she thought it was possible to have a child with him.

*** it's difficult to precise about Humphrey's relationship with York. York capitalised on Humphrey's posthumous reputation to promote himself as Humphrey's political heir and aligned himself with the discontent over the treatment of Humphrey. Humphrey's own biographers don't tend to suggest any special relationship with York, but some of York's biographers (e.g. Matthew Lewis) do.

Hi! Sorry for the delay! Not weird at all! I love these kind of questions. And I was thinking of making one anyway bc Squiggle suggested it, so this is the push I needed to get to that. And this is my girl we're talking about, I need to get everyone to read about her.

A few things of note, I write this guide assuming the reader has not read any IDW1. I will focus only on things that feature Arcee, so by following this you will be lacking a lot of context for the continuity, I will try to provide context for the bigger picture, but if there's something that doesn't make much sense just push through it (or ask!)

Unlike the IDW Optimus reading guide, I'm actually going to list every issue with Arcee in it (hopefully I don't forget any), because even doing so, you still end up with less reading material. Tho, you don't have to read every single one.

However, I will be asking you to read all of Ex-Robots in Disguise and its sequel Optimus Prime. While Arcee was a very minor character previous to this, she is a main character in those series, in fact she's the one who most consistently shows up from beggining to end. As such, I cannot tell you to just read the issues Arcee is in, it would be like skipping episodes of a tv series, you need the whole context. Besides, these comics are very thematic and mostly everything that's brought up is meant to feed the larger picture. And Arcee ends up being the thesis statement character of the whole thing. Being the best character in all of IDW1 (I'm serious), I think she's worth reading it all.

Spotlight: Arcee by Simon Furman

Well... okay, you may have heard that this issue which introduces Arcee's character is very transmisogynistic, that would be correct. I'm not comfortable telling anyone to read with without at least a warning. In the story Arcee's unique gender is said to be the result of mad scientist Jhiaxus experimenting on her, which makes everyone instinctually refer to her as "she" and made her an unstable, crazy murdered. Unfortunatelly, this will be the basis for Arcee's character. Later Barber will tackle the issues with this story and recontextualize it with the help of Jenevieve Frank, a trans woman. The retconned story will be that gender previously existed on Cybertron but was forgotten (tho, it's still present in the colonies) and Arcee is a trans woman who voluntary had Jhiaxus perform gender reassignment on her, but she ended up being the victim of malpractice. Barber will also expand on Arcee's character, her backstory, wants and motivations, so she's not just reduced to a bad surgery. However, Spotlight: Arcee can still be an uncomfortabel read. So if you don't wanna read it just read the wiki summary for it.

Spotlight: Cyclonus Spotlight: Hardhead Spotlight: Doubledealer Spotlight: Sideswipe (or all published together as Revelation) by Simon Furman

These 4 spotlights work as a miniseries, but Arcee only shows up in one page in Cyclonus and one page in Hardhead, which show her tracking down Jhiaxus, and in like 4 pages in Sideswipe, where she finally gets her hands on the guy. You may just want to skim to those pages. Althought it may be worth readin the whole thing just because the Dark Universe stuff will keep showing up. If you don't want to read it the whole thing (fair), this story is about uncovering what's up with Nova Prime and his crew (Jhiaxus, Cyclonus, Galvatron, etc), who dissappeared 6.2 million years ago when they left on an expansionist mission. Turns out they ended in a dimension called The Dark Universe which made them more or less zombies and unable to survive in this dimension for long periods if they don't return to the Dark Universe and empowered Nova-now-Nemesis with "The Heart of Darkness". They want to bring the "Darkness" to this Universe and rule it with Cybertron at the center. The Autobots fight to stop them and succed. Arcee gets to kill Jhiaxus over and over again thanks to the immortality he gets from being in the space between dimensions. Hardhead is there.

Heart of Darkness #1 and 2 by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning

In this 4 issue mini-series, Galvatron turns out to have survived previous events thanks to the Heart of Darkness, finds out that D-Void, the embodiment of the Dark Universe, is planning to kill everything in this universe and uses the powers of the Heart of Darkness to raise an army from corpses to stop it. I don't reccomend it and the art can get uncanny, but Arcee shows up in the first two issues.

The Transformers (2009 ongoing) #28 and 30 by Mike Costa (and James Roberts)

This is the Chaos event that follows up on Heart of Darkness. It runs though issues #24 26, 28, 30, but Arcee only shows up in the last two and it'll probably be very confusing since we skipped the entire Costa ongoing. The rundown is that Galvatron attacks Cybertron in order to get to the Vector Sigma at the core and fuse it with the Heart of Darkness to stop D-Void. To no-one's surprise, The Heart of Darkness is part of D-Void and Galvatron was being manipulated by it so that it can come into thi universe and kill everything. It creates an amalgamation of the Decepticons and Galvatron's sweeps to fight, but Megatron keept that occupied while Optimus and co. get to the core of the planet. In the end, Optimus uses the Matrix to purify Vector Sigma, which breaks the Matrix in half.

The Death of Optimus Prime by James Robers and John Barber

Optimus wakes up to a rejuvenated Cybetron after the events of Chaos. Arcee doesn't show up in this, but it will establish certain things important to understand what's next, so I recommend reading it. Also, IMO the quality goes way up from everything listed before.

Robots in Disguise #1-9 (volumes 1 and 2) by John Barber

Finally we get to the good stuff (unless you skipped everything until now). With the war over and Optimus and Rodimus gone, Bee tries create a functioning society among the tensions between the Autobots, Decepticons and newly-arrived neutrals. It's not going great. After the therapeutic experience that was getting to kill Jhiaxus over and over again, Arcee comes to work for Prowl in the shadows. Her character finally displays some interiority. She also sort of gets retconned to never having been an official Autobot.

Robots in Disguise annual by John Barber

Arcee doesn't show up in this, but the coming events will probably be confusing if you don't read this. We also get flashbacks to the Cybetronian past which will come in handy later.

Robots in Disguise #10-22 (volumes 3, 4 and 5) by John Barber

Megatron, who hasn't been seen since his fight with the amalgamation in Costa's ongoing, returns, which isn't good news for the fragile peace. Things get set up for the Dark Cybertron event. Arcee gets lot of cool moments here and her motivations become more clear. I want to highligh issue #18 as it featured her in the narration and we get to learn a lot about her point of view.

Dark Cybertron (volumes 1 and 2) by John Barber and James Roberts

A crossover betwen RID and MTMTE. It comprises a first issue released on its own, 10 issues that alternate betwen being published as MTMTE and EXRID and a final issue also published on its own. Rather than switching between ongoing, it's easier to read it all in the 2 compiled volumes. Shockwave sets up a very comvoluted plan for nefarious purposes. If you haven't read Mtmte you may wonder who half these people are, but having read RID (and even more if you read the Revelation spotlights listed at the beginning) you'll be far less confused than someone who has only read Mtmte trying to read this. Arcee gets some baddass moments.

Robots in Disguise #28-34 (volume 6) by John Barber

The Earthfall arc where, after the events of Dark Cybertron, Optimus gets a team to return to Earth following a message from Alpha Trion. Arcee asks Optimus to let her tag along. Tensions rise between Optimus and Prowl and Earth may not be so happy to see them.

The Transformers #35-#38 (volume 7) by Jonh Barber

Due to the coming release of the Robots in Disguide 2015 cartoon, Barber's ongoing had its subtitle dropped, becoming just The Transformers, hence why the fandom calls the entire ongoing ex-RID. It inherited the numberation of RID despite the new name, but you may not find its issues listed under the previous name in some sites, look for The Transformers (2014) in that case. We check back on Cybertron, learn more about Cybertron's past and then get to the Onyx Interface arc. Optimus returns to Cybertron and leaves Prowl in charge, but not without asking Arcee to keep an eye on him. Prowl doesn't seem to be all that reasonable and Arcee has her own ideas.

Combiner Wars by John Barber and Mairghread Scott

A crossover similar to Dark Cybertron but with the Windblade series instead of Mtmte and it takes one volume. Arcee doesn't show up, but I wouldn't recommend skipping it as some important stuff happens which I think is better to read for oneself than rely on other's people's opinion. But either way, have a summary: Metroplex's spacebridge is now operational, which means they can open a portal to Caminus, Windblade's reason for coming to Cybertron since her planet is in dire need of resources. Starscream is eager to help them out as it will mean the planet will be in debt to him and is more people to have influence over. Windblade and Optimus are worried about Starscream getting and empire, but since they don't want to stage a coup, they decide to use Optimus status as Prime (figures religiously venerated in Caminus) to combat Starscream's plot (I'm sure this won't get to OP's head later). Prowl thinks they're cowards, he thinks Starscream spreading his hands on Caminus will lead to him doing the same with the other colony words, establishing a new Cybertronian Empire and then expanding it to the rest of the galaxy. Prowl thinks Starscream should be stopped at all costs even if it means destroying the spacebridge and leaving all Camiens to starve to death. A bunch of stuff happens, including: Starscream sending Swindle and Menasor to attack Caminus so he can save it and get more clout. Prowl using Devastator to destroy the spacebridge and being stopped by Superion and Defensor, losing an eye in the process and getting arrested. Starscream using the enigma to replace Prowl in Devastator with Scoop. Rattrap setting Menasor on Caminus again and freeing Prowl. Four combiners fighting on Caminus' ground to which Prowl adds another one by using the enigma to combine himself with Optimus and others in other to have him see his way. And ultimately Prowl is arrested again (and it doesn't stick, again).

The Transformers #42-#44 (volume 8 minus the last issue) by John Barber

Optimus and Prowl have a chat, it doesn't go well. But while they are busy on Cybertron, Arcee is now the de-facto leader of the Autobots on Earth and deals with Galvatron, but just like her predecessors, she makes a quick trip back to Cybertron. Issue #44 is once again narrated by her and lets us see her perspective on Cybertron's current situation.

Combiner Hunters by Mairghread Scott

And one-shot where Arcee tries to steal the enigma of combination, putting her at odds with Windblade and Chromia. We get to see some nice interactions between them and some very nice art of Arcee in her dark deco.

Sins of the Wreckers by Nick Roche

A mini series that's a sequel of sorts to Last Stand of the Wreckers from phase one. It will make much more sense if you have read that one and LSotW it's considered one of best things to come out of phase 1, is not the best, but if you don't want to bother I think you can get the gist of what's going on. Prowl has been kidnapped and unfortunately, he's too important to not try to rescue him. Arcee is dealing with her dissapointment in him and the fact that he never actually trusted her, so she's not too happy about it, but goes along anyway. Truth be told, you won't get lost in the plot if you skip this one and Arcee shares the screentime with a lot of characters, but it's pretty good and you get another writer's take on Arcee.

For context: On the Windblade series, Starscream and Winblade have been contacting the remaining colonies and trying to get them to join the Council of Worlds, which is like the United Nations for the Cybertronian Colonies.

The Transformers #45-#55 (last issue of volume 8, volumes 9 and 10) by John Barber

Things aren't looking so good for the Autobots on Earth, Galvatron makes his move leading to the Conqueros arc. Following Optimus on Cybertron, we get to meet best girl Aileron! Whom you may recognize as Arcee's eventual love interest. Optimus wonders what he should do about the problems on Earth and arrives to a very unpopular decision leading to the All Hail Optimus arc.

Titans Return

A mini crossover, it opens with a one-shot, followed by exRID #56-57, and then MTMTE #56-57, but you can skip the MTMTE issues. Garrison Blackrock's original Cybertronian personality, Sovereign, a servant of Onyx Prime, awakens and causes trouble. Somehow, Sentinel Prime has returned.

Revolution by John Barber and Cullen Bunn (+others)

This is where the infamous Hasbroverse crossovers start. I wouldn't blame you for wanting to skip it, but Arcee is there (tho nothing is about her in particular) and it will be referenced later. Baron Karza, a guy from a place created thanks to Micronus Prime called Microspace wants Earth's ore-13 to save his dimension from entropy, but the dimensional transporting of the ore makes it unstable and explode, this means bad news it it keeps happening. The explosion blamed on the Cybertronians who are still not very well-received on Earth. G.I. Joe is sent to deal with the Cybertronians, but while Optimus wants to make peace with them, things are further complicated when Rom the space knight shoots some G.I. Joe members. As it turns out Rom's enemies, the shapeshifting Dire-Wraiths have infiltrated the Joe ranks because they too want the ore-13 because it enhances their magic. A guy that's secretly allied with Karza leads a project to develop tech against Cybertronians which result in the M.A.S.K organization Rom wants all the ore out of this dimension, Optimus is more concerned with protecting Earth than the microspace, G.I. Joe and M.A.S.K. still hate Cybertronians and then the Micronauts show up following Karza. Eventually they all sort things out between themselves and solve the crisis and the ore is stabilized. Optimus learns that Earth is not so defenseless after all

Optimus Prime #1-6 (volume 1) by John Barber

Because of editorial reasons, exRID get's a relaunch under the name Optimus Prime and the numeration resets, but it's following the same story, so don't worry about it. Starting with the new Cybertron arc, Optimus is dead set on Earth joining the Council of Worlds and will play a risky game for it to happen. Arcee is practically his right hand woman at this point, but that doesn't mean she's happy with how he goes about things. On top of it, Sideswipe has been in critical state since Conquerors and Arcee is not doing great.

Wrath of Karza by Cullen Bunn and Jimmy Johnston

Another crossover that closes the Microspace plot. Honestly, you don't need to read this, I don't even personaly recommend it. But if you have read everything else up to this point, might as well read this so you can say you've read every comic with Arcee in it.

Optimus Prime #7-10 (volume 2) by Jonh Barber

We follow how things are going after the events of New Cybertron. Arcee finally gets some sympathy from another person. Issue #9 focuses on Sideswipe but is also a very important moment for Arcee's arc and in issue #10 we learn about Arcee's past.

Transformers Annual 2017 by Jonh Barber

The conversation between Optimus and Pyra Magna after issue #8, comes included in Optimus Prime vol 2. No Arcee here, we just learn about how Optimus met Bee and Pyra's omnious encounter with Onyx Prime. This will be referenced later, but you can skip it if you're tired.

For context: In the Revolutionary series, assorted characters from different IPs follow the track of a mysterious thing called The Talisman that seems to be linked to Onyx Prime. This includes Blackrock, who wants to learn more about his past, Kup and his new bestie Action Man, Anaya Jones, now working for G.I. Joe under the name Mayday. This leads them to a G.I. Joe villian called Kreiger who has a Transformer working under him.

Said Transformer is named Centurion, who used to think he was Bumblebee because Shcokwave brainswashed him and his crew in order to study a simulation of the Cybertronian war. At the end of it all the Talisman fuses Centurion's consciousness with that of a guy names Mike Powell, aka Atomic Man. Also Transformers are allergic to the Talisman.

First Strike by Mairghread Scott and David A. Rodriguez

Another crossover. This one is better handled than Revolution IMO by mainline focusing on two main IPs and leaving everyone else for the side stories, so you get a more centered narrative. Personally I think there's some really good stuff in here, but also some really stupid stuff. Either way it'll be important, but Arcee only has a role in the last two issues, so here's the rundown: Earth has agreed to join the Council of Worlds, but during the celebration, Joe Colton, ex-G.I. Joe, and Kreiger attack Cybertron with the objective of getting the Talisman to the core of the planet and get rid of Cybertronians while they're distracted. Colton is motivated by a mistrust of Cybetronians, thinking he has to get rid of them before they take over Earth. Scarlett, the current G.I. Joe leader and Colton's daughter-figure, gathers her team and gets to Cybertron in order to stop Colton. But when she gets to Cybertron, the Council of Worlds is feeling very wary of humans and arrests them all. Scarlett convinces Optimus they need her help to stop Colton, so OP breaks out G.I. Joe. Everyone rushes to stop Colton and Kreiger before they get to the core. Kreiger reveals himself to actually be a Visionaries villian and activates the Talisman to summon the city of New Prysmos, because his plan was always to take the planet and make it a new world for his people. Colton is arrested, but the Talisman has poisoned Cybertron's energon reserves. It also has the efefct of waking up Unicron, oops.

Optimus Prime: First Strike (Unification Day: Dawn) Transformers: First Strike (Unification Day: Dusk) by John Barber

First Strike side-stories, collected in Optimus Prime vol 2. Show what Arcee was doing before showing up in First Strike #5. She joing the Revolutionaries characters in rescuing Blackrock. Way less plot relevant than First Strike, but it has some very fun character interactions, so I do recommend it.

Optimus Prime #11-14 (volume 3) by John Barber

Two mini arcs: Primeless and The Dead Come Home. In the first one, Aileron tries to keep things in order on Earth while Arcee and Optimus are busy on Cybertron, my girl is trying her best. In the second one, Optimus learns about the newsparks growing in Trypticon that the Dinobots are protecting (how this came to be happens in the Redemption of the Dinobots trilogy) so he and Arcee deal with that. Good stuff all around IMO.

For context: On the Till All Are One series, Windblade and Bumblebee get through to Starscream, who confesses all of his crimes and is then arrested. Windblade is elected president of Cybertron.

Also, Kreiger's actions caused a bunch of people from his decaying world, the Visionaries, to come end up on Cybertron. They're divided in two camps, one who wants to take over the planet from themselves and one who doesn't want to do that because that's immoral. They fight it out. The Visionaries and Cybertronians come to an understanding. The important thing is that there are now wizard dudes living in their own city on Cybertron and we are reminded Transformers are allergic to magic.

Optimus Prime #15-21 (volume 4) by John Barber

The Falling arc. Things finally seem promising until Onyx Prime shows up and ruins everything. This is one of my favorite parts (yes, including the plot twist). Lots of characters get great moments including, of course, Arcee. On top of getting to show off, this is when she and Aileron share the first explicit romantic kiss between two Transformers.

Unicron #0 Optimus Prime #22 Unicron #1-4 Optimus Prime #23-24 Unicron #5-#6 Optimus Prime #25 by John Barber

Unicron is here, Transformers have to face the weight of their history. A history Arcee is all to familiar with. And with this we read the end. Please read it in the order stated above. Optimus Prime #25 serves as an epilogue. Arcee confirms what has been suggested this whole time, that she is without a doubt a trans woman. She gets to close the book on the continuity showing how far she has come. It's a very rewarding ending after everything, I think.

Gonna post something cringe 👍 I was thinking about all day yesterday and I posted it in the group chat but bwaah I'll put it here too

so here's how I think the Ishimondos would interact with the Welcome Home cast

Firstly, Mondo would fucking love Barnaby so much. He is not immune to big fluffy doggi. And I think he'd jive with his chill, friendly attitude. Taka meanwhile would definitely get caught on the other end of Barnaby's punchlines and he would not appreciate it. He's a very easy target.

Mondo would also like Wally but in more of an "holy shit a little guy, must protect" sorta way. He asks Wally how he does his hair and Wally says it's always like that.

Taka and Frank are autism-to-autism communication. Could listen to each other infodump about politics and bugs respectively for hours. Also, both of them relate to the need for things to be "just so" and trying to maintain that order among the colorful personalities around them. They're so similar that Mondo finds it kinda off-putting.

Poppy and Taka get along great. I think he would help her a lot with cooking while maintaining such proper safety procedures that she's downright impressed and her anxiety is kept to a minimum, which is pretty rare. Does that thing with making star-shaped riceballs but with fuckin. bird seed. he would definitely still eat it too.

Neither of them would like Sally Starlet, I'm afraid. she's way too self-important for both of them to handle. She would definitely call Mondo "biker" as a sign of disrespect like how she calls Eddie "mailman." She actually is interested in Kiyotaka because he's clearly a very skilled orator, so she sees potential in him as a thespian.

Julie would steal Mondo's bike and ride it around the neighborhood for one of her games, giving just about everyone else a heart attack but ESPECIALLY Mondo. Her antics are the only ones that get him yelling like he usually does.

I feel like they'd both get along well with Eddie, Eddie's just a very easy guy to get along with. Kiyotaka would respect his work ethic and be very "Thank you for your service! 🫡" about it, and Eddie finds it a bit odd if endearing. Eddie would almost get hit by the above-mentioned bike tho.

If they went to Howdy's Place you'd bet your ass they wouldn't be able to buy shit. When they find out that the currency is jokes Kiyotaka tries to tell one and he gets fucking. banned for life. this is the "it'd be hard to sleep with a corpse in your bathroom" guy after all. he'd probably say the darkest shit ever that would make his jaded cop dad chuckle but would send this caterpillar puppet into an emotional crisis.

Finally, last but not least is Home himself. Kiyotaka would find a sentient house incredibly fascinating, I think. He'd probably ask Wally a lot of questions about it that Wally doesn't really know how to answer (or he keeps getting cut off by everyone else's antics before he can say it). Mondo meanwhile would find it creepy as fuck.

I've been rewatching season 3. It feels like such a different show. I think the impact of the shake up of producers and cast that happened in season 5/6 cannot be overestimated. And of course with this new season they've actively tried to make it a different iteration. But yeah...the creative vision or whatever shifted a lot over its original run.

I quite enjoyed this episode. I liked the directing, though I would have preferred the flashbacks in color. There were some really nice shots in there. A lot of backstory snippets. I wanna know more about Tara. What prompted her to go to Al-Anon, years after her marriage broke up? Does that have anything to do with the toning down/disappearance of her swagger? As for Garvez - I don't feel the same level of upset over how this has played out, but I think we're headed toward a reveal of Luke's deeper feelings and some kind of reckoning. And while it's not necessarily *fun* to watch Garcia make these choices, I am not convinced this was a completely bad decision storytelling-wise. I know, I'm in the minority there. Let her fuck up! Let her be unlikable, selfish, blind. I guess what would disappoint me the most is if there's no turn in this story, no real consequences or accountability. We'll see.

Favorite scene hands down was the angsty grocery shopping. What can I say, it gave me life.

As you can see, they're shorter and thicker than normal trades, and cover about two volumes of regular trades. The two books you read are essentially volumes 0-3 of the original Spider-Gwen series. This matters because there is actually a Spider-Gwen omnibus which would have simplified all of this considerably.

This means you've already missed a story! Between volumes 1 and 2 Gwen was part of a crossover event with Silk and Spider Woman called "Spider Women". It is entirely out of print and I only found it secondhand, but it's all on marvel unlimited which is where I read it originally. This is a required story! It has a whole bunch of important plot elements introduced in it for later Spider-Gwen stuff.

Your options from there are varied. You can find the next two digest sized collections - unlike spider women, volume 3 of this series, Spider-Gwen: Deal With the Devil does actually collect the Miles Morales crossover which I adore (but oddly enough is not a requirement like Spider Women is...) - or you can find Spider-Man/Spider-Woman: Sitting in a Tree and volumes 4-6 of Spider-Gwen. Of course, all of this is available on marvel unlimited, which is, again, where I read the series originally, I bought my physical copies later on.

I do have a reading order I've made previously with everything Gwen has been in and before all of this you technically should've read Spiderverse (2014), since that's her first appearance and a story that really sets her themes going forward (and also just a story I enjoy), but if you don't feel like reading it (it's a bit of a chonker) that's fine I guess. Unfortunately the next thing to read is Spidergeddon, which is bad and not good. I'd say? Just read a summary on Wikipedia so you can understand the next bit of mainline Spider-Gwen comics.

What comes next is two separate series with very confusing names, Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider, and Ghost Spider. Yes, these are two separate series. Both of them are ten issues long, except Ghost Spider also has an annual that's really worth reading. The first series transitions Gwen into using the Ghost Spider moniker, and then once she starts going by Ghost Spider there's no need for the Spider-Gwen title anymore. Oh I should mention much of this is out of print, I actually don't even have Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider volume 2 in a physical copy at all, and Ghost Spider I only have in single issues.

Too bad Tim Seeley never read a single one of her comics tho, cause the next series to read is Spider -Gwen: Gwen-Verse miniseries. I say "to read" as though I recommend this series. It's not good. I was really looking forward to Gwen-Verse. I love Spider-Verse, the movie and the comic, I love Gwen, I was like, this should be my shit. Instead it was just plain shit. Like I said, it seems to me as though Tim Seeley had simply never read a single Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider comic before writing this comic and at the very least had not read the Ghost Spider titles. I have Opinions on this one to say the least.

We don't yet have any more Gwen comics, although there's another miniseries coming out later this year, so I have no way of knowing if Gwen-Verse is important yet, but I will say for now I'd skip it entirely. Finish with Ghost Spider Annual #1 and move on to other things.

Okay so to summarize:

First comes Spiderverse, which you have already skipped

Then comes Spider-Gwen vol 0 and 1, which you read in one collected edition

Then comes Spider Women

Then Spider-Gwen vol 2-3 which you read in one collected edition, and Spider-Man/Spider-Gwen: Sitting in a tree, and Spider-Gwen vol 4-6, which can be read in two similar collected editions

Then Spidergeddon, which you should skip

Then Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider

Then Ghost Spider, not forgetting the annual

Then Spider-Gwen: Gwen-Verse, which isn't even a multiverse story and you should skip cause it's bad

Upcoming "Shadow Clones" miniseries, scheduled for April I believe

Steps 2-4 can be replaced with reading the actual Spider-Gwen omnibus, which is in print but also expensive. Every single issue of this reading list is available on Marvel Unlimited.

I haven't read the newest "End of the Spider-Verse" event that's been going on yet, I'm waiting for it to be over and then I'll read the whole thing, but it's my understanding that Gwen spends most of it possessed, so I'm not including it on the reading list.

I hope it's clear why I didn't also want to rec fics in this, just like, length wise. Another time?

taylor don’t do that shit again. no but actually, idk one of my biggest pet peeves is when artists pitch shift their vocals (looking at you frank ocean), like i get it you’re being experimental but this sounds BAD. reminds me of a reputation reject, it’s like if dress was bad. only reason it’s not a 0 is bc the chorus sounds kinda good when it’s not pitch shifted at the end
