A year ago today I lost my wonderful Dad.

He bravely fought both Parkinson's Disease and Dementia with a smile on his face and a great sense of humour. But with these two illnesses still waiting for a cure, he passed away on 10th August 2023.

I miss him everyday.

In his memory, I've decided to try and raise some money for him. This might fail spectacularly, but for one week (until next Sunday), I'm going to be on Cameo. So for any DBD fans out there, if you have any burning questions about the show, or a scene, or an episode, or an upcoming birthday or whatever these things are used for, now is the time. I am of the firm opinion that, until EXPLICITLY proven otherwise by canon, Kingdom Hearts Court Magician Donald Duck spent most of his childhood and adolescence traveling across the worlds on adventures with his Uncle Scrooge, and that's where he learned magic.

This is also where he discovered a lot of magical items, not to mention all the ones SCROOGE found, so honestly Donald doesn't even bother to keep track of all the treasures in the Duck Family's possession, no one does really, not even SCROOGE knows, he'll go digging one up because he needs one for a specific purpose/adventure and in the process he'll unearth like five similar ones he just plain forgot about.

Obviously Scrooge continued adventuring while Donald was off being a Musketeer, including at least one use of Zettaflare that is forever engraved in Goofy and Mickey's memories but for Donald was just in his bottom quarter of all-time adventure rankings, and obviously Scrooge continued finding fantastical treasures that he may or may not know the significance of. There's at least one magical sword that's currently being used at the Bistro as a knife because it never loses its edge.

What I'm saying is Scrooge McDuck is a Keyblade wielder and you cannot convince me otherwise. A weapon that can also open any chest is INVALUABLE to an adventurer like him, are you kidding? When he retired from adventuring in favor of being a full-time entrepreneur he just chucked it in the bin with everything else. Probably he managed to find one of the Foretellers' old Keyblades lying around or something. It'd just figure. No one told HIM he was needed for a war between light and darkness for the fate of all the worlds! Donald never tells him where he's been these days!

While I laid out this proposition to a friend on Discord, she agreed and added that Webby should get a Keyblade too.

Conclusion:

This is the current wielder of Ira's Keyblade. Scrooge had it lying around for a decade in some attic somewhere, Webby thought the unicorn was cool, and Scrooge figured, hey! Every child should have a good set of lockpicks for treasure chests and a means of self-defense, and it's not as though he's using it for anything important!

When Donald finds this out, he will be disappointed, but not surprised.

I saw this on another blog and thought it was a cute question 'what's a line or a scene you've written that you still think about because it makes you happy?'

i don't know if "happy" is the right word for it but i'm still pretty proud of all of the possible Duncan takedowns you can get in the fight. one of my favorites is when Lea is injured and an alchemist hunter gets to have a little wolverine moment:

He glares at you, his nostrils flaring, and he lowers his hand and charges, and you patiently wait for him to come. You drop low, darting beneath his vertical strike and swiping at his legs, your metal claws hooking around his calf and wrenching him off his feet. He slams back into the flood, and you rip your claws free with a hot spray of blood before throwing yourself on top of him. The claws retract in a burst of red sparks, slotting back into your bracer as you roughly grab at the front of Duncan's chestplate.

You leer down at him, and you hit him once, twice, three times, dark blood spilling down his fancy armor, your own knuckles splitting against his teeth, his head snapping back unnaturally as he pathetically grabs at your arm, digging his nails into the gash on your forearm - but you ignore the pain, the black blood oozing through your sleeve, instead just hitting him again, and again, and again, dark shadows flickering around you in anticipation.

"I expected more from you," you mock, before shoving him beneath the flood waters.

Your hands fumble for a moment, pressing against his face, his throat, his own hands thrashing wildly, still digging into the cut in your arm, but you just shove him deeper into the water.

The runes of his armor are flashing frantically, glowing beneath the water, illuminating the ghastly look on Duncan's face, his blood catching the light and casting long, red shadows all around you.
