‘‘Logan big problem!’’

Running into the room and yelling would reasonably warrant the reaction of him grabbing onto you with one hand of claws unsheathed and the smell of iron quickly disbursing in the room.

‘‘Not that kind of problem’’

Logan lets out an exasperated sigh and goes back to his abandoned half drunk beer waiting on the counter.

‘‘Then what sort of problem then bub?’’

Fiddling with your fingers you look anywhere but his face feeling embarrassed for what you told Scott  just moments prior to your disruption.

‘‘You gonna spit it out or what?’’

‘’Right before I tell you it's a very stupid thing and you promise not to get mad?’’

You can see the gears turning in his head. Contemplating whether this was really worth his time to listen to you since you deemed it so stupid. But soon he does come around to the idea of even humouring you and nods for you to carry on.

‘’So Scott was talking to me and hes going on about Jean as he does and I guess he felt like I needed to give input or something so he asked if I had a partner and-’’

Logan cuts you off.

‘’You didn't tell him that we...’’

‘’No…well sorta ’’

He sighs in disbelief and turns away from you, good thing for you since having to look him in the eyes while confessing this had been a struggle

‘’I didn't want to tell him i've never been on a date so he may or may not believe that we are exes’’

He didn't want to hear if you had anymore to say so grabbing his finished bottle of beer Logan walks out of the room and towards the kitchen with you following behind.

“So Scotty now think we've had something going on?’’

He doesn't wait for your confirmation and continues.

“So I have to now deal with him either making interacting with him more unbearable or having to listen to him ask unnecessary questions about a relationship neither of us had?’’

“Yeah pretty much.’’

Reaching the kitchen, Jean was inside talking with Scott about whatever they usually talk about. You'd think Scott would run out of things to talk about since he does so constantly to either you, jean or logan. Scott hears you both enter and is giving Logan a side eye as he ignores him to open the fridge for another drink.

“Soo y/n…” Jean starts “Ive heard theres a new development in your love life”

Logan stiffens up a bit and Scott still is looking at him.

“Oh yeah that's in the past now, nothing developmental about it.” trying to escape the conversation.

‘’Aww i was just thinking you two would have been cute together -’’

Logan walks out the room popping the cap off the bottle and leaving it on the floor to rile up Scott more, seeing this as an opportunity to annoy him because in his eyes he's hurt his dear best friend.

‘‘Well i guess some things weren't meant to last but there plenty of other opportunities right scott?’’

Scott just snapping back to what Jean was saying he gives a quick nod and smiles at you as you quickly leave.

‘‘So what really happened between those two?’’

‘‘Scott you know I don't snoop without permission’’

Scott groans and pouts.

‘‘Okay fine. They didn't have anything going on and Logans used this to annoy you more than normal. Do you think we should tell them we know?’’

She didn't have to look into Scott's mind to find the answer with that smirk on his face.

alright bros, the first thing i have to say is 1, you're not always the cause. bad things happen to good people and i know it sucks but it helps you grow. if only good things happened then you'd probably be boring as hell. i hear some of you guys can be because you cant keep a conversation going. the thing is, you may be a victim MOST OF THE TIME but that doesnt mean ALL THE TIME!! you can be wrong in an argument, you can be right in an argument. but it changes. you're a very driven, smart, confident person in most areas but that doesnt mean because you're the right person to be a firefighter but not a baker. 7 of flowers is saying dont back down from the things you KNOW you are right in, but when someone makes a valid point. take it, it can help you. being passionate is a good thing, but dont be ignorant.

temptation is something thats drawing you in, that one day will be negative. maybe its joining the football team but you'll get a serious injury. do not let anyone or anything tempt you that has high risks for pain in the long run. im not saying dont join that football team, but dont put yourself into situations that wont benifit you in the long run. there's a good and bad to everything. do not fall into or back into negative energies/things that didnt help you before. they sure as hell wont help you now

i prefer one fandom per ask so that things are kept neat + it makes it easier to divide into masterlists and stuff if that makes sense!/nm characters: ragatha, kinger, gangle, zooble notes: reader is GN, reader cries over everything for any reason not just out of sadness, very emotional in all the emotions cws: none

RAGATHA

gets used to it over time and learns to tell the difference between sad tears and happy tear and anything else... if theyre sad or angry she takes you to the side so you can recollect yourself.. likely to her room or outside

if theyre happy tears she tries to get into the vibe with you- whats got you so moved?

waits patiently for you to calm your tears when she gives you a gift, doesnt rush you and asks if you like it as a confirmation that you actually do like it

she doesnt cry much herself, she internalizes her feelings- youre the opposite, but sometimes you rub off on her and get her to release some of the stuff shes been hiding away

KINGER

so so so worried, it doesnt matter the context hes always going to ask if youre okay and if you need anything- instantly putting his hand on the back of your shoulder and rubbing circles into your back

did something happen? did someone say something? are you overwhelmed?

hes relieved if its not over something bad or negative, but hes still shaken up just a bit- he remains just a tad bit on edge for a while until you calm down

crying is just so often associated with something horrible happening that his first thought is that youre hurt in some way, coupled with his constant fear and paranoia...

no judgement from her, she cries a lot more than she would like and shes not going to make you feel bad for showing your feelings.. hell she might even cry with you depending on whats got you going

not very emotive, in fact they dont show off their emotions all that much even to you- even though youre both close to each other

but thats okay, you do more than enough to express your feelings to make up for it!

though, it did annoy them a little in the beginning when you were still new to the circus... not enough to make them fully dismiss you or find you as a person annoying! theyve since gotten used to it and accepted that this is just how you are + how you show and process your thoughts and emotions

transman & mlm he doesn’t listen to music often, but when he does it's metal grew up on the countryside with traditional home values (stay at home mom, "man of the house", etc. etc.) as the youngest sibling to 3 brothers. his parent's marriage wasn't one out of love, but rather convenience & societal expectations/pressure. because of this were constantly fighting & physically abusive towards Jack and his siblings. acted and presented masculine from a young age in order to prove he can be a "real" man. ran away from home to join the military at 18. he's spent most of his life away from civilian life, and because of this, he doesn't know how to function in society outside combat. ( "During his days off, Krauser often participated in mercenary work, as he felt that he could not function within society and believed that his service and the thrill of combat were what gave his life meaning." ) extremely insecure about being transgender & uses his power/rank to "make up" for it. resents his homosexuality as he sees it as the remaining "female side" of him he's unable to get rid of. because of this internalized homo/transphobia, he's extremely violent towards anyone he falls for and takes that involuntary attraction as a direct insult to his masculinity. this also ties into his childhood & how he grew up without an example of what healthy affection looks like. his hyper masculinity and borderline (if not outright) misogyny stems from his own dysphoria and insecurities. wears a packer religiously. fighting tooth and nail to not turn this into a ship brainrot ramble BUT this is why i think Krauser's so overly harsh on Leon while also favoriting him to a degree. ("Either way, this is definitely not a 'training room,' this is something Krauser, presumably, put together specifically to train Leon away from the others. There's too much clutter and nothing that would indicate that it's any sort of training area.") ALSO LOOK AT THIS EDIT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

transman & bisexual (realistically it wouldn't be likely/possible that he'd been on testosterone long enough for his voice to change to the degree it has in re2r, as it was the 80s... BUT theres no fun in that :-) plus it explains the voice change from re2r to re4r) honorary dad & country rock lover. (canon confirmed?) listens to Nickelback, Saving Abel, Nine Inch Nails, Hinder, Breaking Benjamin, Failure, Nirvana, Avenged Sevenfold, Seether, some MCR (denies it), Shinedown & similar bands :-)!! autistic, has sensitive skin & eczema. a chronic gum chewer. it’s a comforting, absent minded movement that keeps him grounded on the job. spearmint hurts his mouth so he prefers bubble gum or less cold mint flavors. (i'm not projecting u r.) named after his father and introduces himself as Leon S. Kennedy to separate himself from him. went by Scott/Scottie in his teenage years. total mama's boy. Leon Senior was a heavy alcoholic and is where he got his drinking problems from, something Leon's incredibly insecure about as he's afraid of turning into his dad. grew up resenting his father and blames him for his mom's death. had a bit of chub before becoming an agent & grew into a dad bod/beer belly as he got older :-)!!! was extremely insecure as a teenager & child, having facial and body dysphoria both of which remained untreated & linger in his adult life somewhat. was a very light blonde when he was younger, but his hair gradually got darker as he grew up until he was a light brown/dirty blonde (cue identity crisis "am i blonde or a brunette???"). eventually, he started bleaching it. lost motivation and stopped dying it as he got older. movie buff (canon) ( "He makes a lot of references to films such as the "go medieval on your ass" line from RE4R, which is a quote from Pulp Fiction or comparing the China mission to Black Hawk Down. He also quotes a whole scene from Casablanca from memory in Vendetta (the "I never make plans that far ahead" part), so he seems to watch quite a variety of films." ) in the nicest most affectionate way possible... he is so annoying about movies actually, will not shut up with his trivia the whole time it plays. hates horror movies but will never admit it. played hockey as a kid. grew up somewhere cold & is adapted to cold temperatures (he can't stand the heat though). had a dog as a kid and used to absolutely love them (specifically bloodhounds) but he developed a phobia of them after Raccoon City (can you blame him?). no matter how badly he wants a normal domestic life (to settle down, start a family, and give his kids the childhood he never had) he’s secretly terrified of the idea. he doesn’t know how to function outside of work, even when on vacation he can’t seem to relax. (he'd probably name his kids some stupid shit like "Hunter" though, so maybe that's for the best...)

✧ luis serra

cisgender & bisexual or mlm the closest we have to a canon music taste 4 him is Barbie Girl by Aqua (hehe), BUT i'd imagine he'd be a fan of musicians like Queen, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Madonna, ABBA, Billy Joel, Dolly Parton and other artists known to be popular in queer communities!! Grew up Catholic & still holds onto some core ideologies, though in a more superstitious way than religious. while he doesn't consider himself Catholic, he still carries around a cross necklace from his childhood & prays occasionally. Valdelobos was (in canon) devoutly Catholic prior to Saddler's reign, so it makes sense for him to hold on to some of that guilt. (him signing the gross in game.) his jacket is custom-tailored. going on a biiiit of a ramble/history lesson here... but if you look up Western saddles you'll find some with floral patterns similar to Luis' jacket. it's a kind of leather carving that was APPARENTLY inspired by medieval Spanish saddles. not really relevant but a fun fact nonetheless! :-) he picked up smoking from his grandfather. extremely picky when it comes to what cigarettes he smokes. he prefers Marlboro Reds (i don't smoke (except for when i'm missing you) so idrk what i'm talking about) very sentimental & holds on to little trinkets & gifts & pictures, etc. (this is somewhat canon confirmed, seen with him holding onto the Umbrella Dream Team photo, along with the lighter.)

✧ ada wong

transwoman & arospec lesbian likes 80s pop music & typical girly ego boost stuff. stuff like Kate Bush, Lady Gaga & ABBA (she loves Babooshka by Kate Bush & Cheri Cheri Lady by Modern Talking). not sure if she'd actually listen to any of her stuff, but K. Flay's music reminds me of her, specifically The President Has A Sex Tape. mommy issues queen. was in and out of foster care her entire childhood, only to end up back with her mom every time. she's extremely self-sufficient and refuses to rely or depend on anyone due to her childhood history of neglect. essentially raised herself. picked up smoking from her mother and absolutely hates it. she only falls back on nicotine when doing horribly. she carries cigarettes around with her on missions, just in case. has cherry blossom lip gloss and re-applies it religiously. has drop foot (i genuinely can’t think of any other sensible reason she’d always been wearing heels </3). used to like true crime when she was younger. she has issues identifying her feelings and honestly doesn’t care enough to work through them. she isn’t sure if she even likes some people at all. she can’t apart affection and finding someone useful. either way, she wants certain people around/safe and she isn’t sure why.

Shy about his singing voice, so it's rare to hear, but i'd imagine it sounds similar to Isaac Slade's (lead singer of The Fray), just a bit deeper/gruffier. extremely good with dogs - actually considered being a dog trainer when he was younger. has a German Shepherd & a Bernese Mountain Dog, both are extremely well trained. canonically hates the rich, and is anti-capitalist lol. it's likely he was discharged from the Air Force for talking back to his superiors. would be an amazing dad but is terrified of the idea of settling down. no matter how badly he wants to have a domestic life he doesn’t know how to adapt to it. has a matching tattoo with Claire!! ^_^

aro/ase spec & pan has autism, ASPD, NPD & a god complex (he has no idea what most of those labels mean & sees any attempts at people diagnosing him as useless and a waste of time). sensory issues & sensitive eyes because of Uroboros (leads to overstimulation sometimes, which makes him even more of a grumpy bitch). has an insane skincare routine. listens to classical music & 80s crap. while he originally got with ms. Muller with the goal of having a child, Wesker was unaware of Jake's birth. he deemed her as suitable as she had desirable traits that he wanted to carry on but never knew she actually got pregnant. suppresses/ignores any sexual thoughts/urges he has, as he views sexual impulses as a weakness and looks down on it. he sees himself as better than the average person because of his ability to control this. walked on his toes as a kid. most lights are too bright for him (hence the sunglasses wearing indoors). gets extremely frustrated if his plants or routine get interrupted or even slightly changed. sits in a dark room to de stimulate when needed, sometimes he reads, other times he just zones out. weird about how he treats Neurotypical ppl lol (treats them as they would Neurodivergents; like his experiences are the social norm & any other way of living is alien and outlandish). doesn’t smoke often but when he does he prefers Camels or Marlboro Blues (again, i don’t smoke so idrk). speaks some German & Latin (Latin from virus names and yada yada sciencey stuff)

Perry novels aren't canon i rlly like how they depicted her childhood (along with it being the only "official" backstory for her we have). the idea of her dad being a crime boss explains her knowledge of lock picking & ability to keep a level head. she definitely had a few run-ins with the law as a kid. she has a little sister. has a Russian Blue cat & her favorite fruit are pears. can speak some french, though not too well due to lack of use. she has fairly thick hair and an undercut that she refuses to have shaved professionally. she likes cutting her hair herself, and refuses to pay to have it done. normally she has a friend or whoever's available cut it for her in exchange for a couple bucks. still has blonde hair from re5, but dyes it (Wesker absolutely killed the melanin in her skin and hair). she has blonde streaks & roots due to lack of free time to re-dye. has heightened abilities from lingering effects of the P30 drug (strength, perception time, speed, etc.). has a permanent scar on her chest from the P30 device.

luzo are not a slow burn they are an explosion, luffy waits for nothing, he isnt scared to lose this new and precious friendship he found. idk if theres a fic but there should be where luzo first time is post mihawk. luffy getting a clear confirmation that zoro is his and since he is His why wouldnt he tear into him. yes grave injury may be a turn off but seeing a weakened and vulnerable zoro makes luffy insane (hes alive that placated some of his protective instincts, his worry is settling down) he hates that zoro is hurt but his weak voice makes him hard and zoros proclamation of loyalty is vivid in luffy's mind. that's his right there he doesnt want to wait ..they can be careful right it's fine (zoro is crazy enough to go along you know this)

doin another little analysis? ohohoh i find this interesting? ramble? right now post end pre explanations. SO watchers are def the big bad- still not sure who the pc is tho. We're killing the dragon but she isnt the monster out there really. Whenever a hermit reveals to much(?) or tries to they get silenced. (note, not locked to hermits, they also silenced you). Shown by them wrapping their hands around the victims mouth. Ren has only recently been Fucking Got. Etho has as well? Sometime probably very soon pre 'game' as joel comments on them getting etho 'again'. This may be hurting him more or from how we see him currently. I dunno.

Joe seems to be possessed by the watchers maybe? Theres something fucked up going on there tho lmao. but we knew that.

CLEO though. Shes intresting. Shes surrounded by spiderwebs for one, (in arachnes place i believe?) but we see her turning to stone. And shes a gorgon so maybe turning herself into stone in some way? Shes also called the 'eternal prisoner' so shes kinda suck lmao. But not ALONE as the other hermits are able to reach and talk to her. (She mentions that the server talks)

Joel, is mentioned to be a fallen/former god in some way, but its unknown exactly how /that/ all happened. Hes now a 'vengeful' nymph. He's seen with a dagger (ever the violent, that one is) Hes waiting for etho. Etho is known to be a 'genius' maybe etho has something to do with getting back god hood? Maybe he was kicked out for being an asshole. Shit wait. Iskalls crysalization and Cleos becoming rock are probably intertwined in some way- theyre mentioned by impulse as being fucked with by the watchers. Bdubs was cut off- which seems to be one of the watchers signature moves. so thats cool ya know. Grian mentions that the watchers want nothing to do with him- he has a watchers mask in his collection though, so im assuming that hes an ex watcher in some way. Hermits are also going /missing/. Which i think is what we saw happening with Ren there in the end. I was also wrong about the hermits you have medallions having significance. TLDR: So idea on what the story is. So i think the watchers released? are working with? The dragon to cause havoc on the hermits in some way. Hurting and attacking the people. For some reason the pc is called upon to stop the dragon. Alas the watchers are actively interfering to stop the pc from killing the dragon. (And maybe thus freeing the hermits?) I dont know why though. Hermits have some fucked shit going on. Cleo and Iskall have the same effect. Ren and Etho are in the same situation. Hypno wants to kill

I really hope marissa meyer goes somewhere interesting with the parallels Maggie and Max have to Ace Anarchy and Captain Chromium respectively. They also have parallels with Nova and Adrian, and I find that interesting

Ace and Hugh: Polar opposites representing the two sides that are both corrupt in their own ways, yet both have saved and helped people in different ways. Ace helped start change for prodigies, and Hugh (and his friends) allowed Gatlon to have peace

Nova and Adrian: Generation after the first, and have been hurt by both sides in different ways. Both have their lives interconnected when they were six that one night all those years ago. And by the end, they represent a new era of allegedly the two sides joining and having peace, again.

Maggie is so similar to her sister when it comes to her trauma and upbringing. She was an afterthought of the renegades and its clear she's never really had anyone on her side that she connected with. She's been forgotten, similar to her uncle's motivations. She's facing an injustice, and the epilogue implies she's ready to take on the villain mantel. She partially has her uncles powers, and nothing to lose. She's motivated by survival and selfish intentions, the motto and theme of the anarchists. After all, the anarchists started anarchy over injustice, they had to think of themselves after being stepped over for so long

Max has been sheltered his whole life because of his powers. He's strictly been helped by the Renegades and in return, he was used to make a weapon. He's the most selfless character in the series, in contrast to Maggie's selfishness. He doesn't want to hurt others, but in order to not he has to stay sealed away from people. By the end of the trilogy, he almost dies in his most grand selfless act to stop the violence. He ends up with no powers, in return for everyone having powers, and he's honored highly for it. He fits perfectly into the role his father had before him. Hugh had a power that made him almost completely invincible, making him standout from all other prodigies, already a minority of people. Max used to be able to take powers, already unique, but becomes EVEN MORE unique once he's the SOLE person without a power.

It's already implied we're gonna get a romance between the two, given Maggie has a crush on him. They no doubt will have some sort of relationship in the books to come based off of what we've gotten of the two acknowledging each others existence in the Epilogue and Cinder's Adventure:

I'd also be interested in if they were doomed. If they could be friends, they almost WERE friends, but it wasn't meant to be. I mean, i wouldn't want a romeo and juliet situation but it would be different

Anyway, if we get a romance between the two then I'd still be so happy if their relationship acknowledged all of this. Theres no way it can go EXACTLY the same because Maggie and Max aren't the same as their siblings or their family members, and they have their own traumas. And I'll be looking forward to their characters being explored too. Like, I am very much LOOKING at this part specifically from Maggie's pov

Rei Amayado and Love.

Ok so ik there are a lot of unknowns about rei and honestly im no where near qualified enough to talk about ANY of the hypmic characters in the detail im about to go. But i like to think i know a decent amount of info and lore to make a good assumption. I could be totally wrong about some things soo pllleeeaassseeee dont take me entirely seriously

But the conversation between rei and nayuta confirmed a lot of things for me. A lot of things i was speculating that i havent really seen anyone else talk about

In the drama track, rei comes to the realization that he lets himself shoulder everything despite having the support that he could turn to rely on. Even when nayuta was still awake and with him, he had the bad habit of pushing everything onto himself.

The line that really stood out to me was nayuta asking if he was going to play the villain, to which he responds with a curt "yes" and this. Right there. Is exactly what ive been thinking this entire time.

Its really nothing new that ohhh rei is the bad guy hes morally grey hes hurt people You Shouldnt Really Trust Him. And rosho denounces all of that with pushing sasara to think "who is he really?" now i know that whole portion was supposed to lead sasara into his own growth but seriously. Who is rei? They knew he was a conman, they knew he was shady, unserious, and pushed things off. But rosho says that it was just a persona he built up, and hes correct.

We all knew rei was a deeper character than they let on, it was obvious to us, but not to them. Though its still kinda funny sasaro just said "yeah we guessed" when he said he was bb's father LMAOAOAOAOA not slick at all... but anyways where am i going with this ?

Rei has quite obviously put up a persona to the people around him. He doesnt want to be suspected, he doesnt want people knowing too much about him. So he pretends. That whole comical uncle spiel was just a means of hiding from everyone, and most importantly, himself. I dont think he really wants to face his reality. Of course he takes responsibility and is *painfully* aware of it, but he doesnt seem like he wants to accept it. Now im mostly talking about nayuta here, in the dt he said he would do basically whatever it took to keep nayuta by his side when she mentioned her not being there anymore. And what is he doing now? Keeping her comatose body on publicly unknown island to protect her, and watch over her state.

What about his kids? As far as im aware theres no reason we were given for him leaving bb. Hes accepted the fact hes nolonger an important part of their lives, sure hes important to a degree, but not in a parental way. Im sure its fair to assume he left bb around the time nayuta was sent comatose. So what i think: he left for their own safety.

He left them to make sure they wouldnt get wrapped up in the politics he did. Their mother got hurt, whose to say chuuohku wouldnt target his children next? They knew what was important to him, so he forced himself to think of them as unimportant. He left them so they wouldnt meet the same fate, nayuta is gone, he cant have her children following.

But that was when they were young. Now that they are more grown, things have changed. They are drb participants, and isnt the whole point of the drbs to train potential true hypnosis mic users? Those mics? The mics that kill users? Why would he allow that? I personally think that its just a matter of "they are grown, they can make their own decisions." mixed with "they could possibly survive it and help me create nayutas ideal world."

Even before the 2nd drb, dont you think it was odd how he randomly came to jirosabu one day and revealed that he was their father? What were the motives? Ive always interpreted it as him helping them in his own odd way. He knew their bonds were strong, so maybe if he gives them a challenge, he could strengthen those bonds while simultaneously pushing himself away. Which woah !! Exactly what he did. Jiro got some really good character developmemt out of that one, and bb started resenting him even more. Keeping them together is his goal, afterall its all they have.

So he got what he wanted. He pushed those that he loved and cherished away to protect them from his issues. So... Whats up with sasara and rosho? Notoriously, he told them almost nothing about himself. But with this new dt he revealed EVERYTHING. A new level of intimacy for our current time rei. He was vulnerable with them, when he was so used to makimg other vulnerable.

I think his relationship with sasaro is very healing for him. For all of them, actually, both he and sasara have a tendency to push others away for either their protection, or his own protection. And rosho is a catalyst of "thats so stupid wtf" and is essentially helping them find themselves after he found his own self.

Of course human growth is always happening, rosho is no where near done growing. As we see in the dt he is growing right in front of us, gaining more confidence in himself. And sasara and rei are still so far from really allowing themselves to grow. In a way, they are ashamed for their lack of growth. Sasara getting antsy over the fact rosho pointed out his habit of never getting involved. And rei reflecting back on nayuta when he just got done actively pushing sasaro away. Nayuta was the only person who *actually* forced him to think of different perspectives and not rot in his own.

While nayuta is gone, sasara and rosho are good stand ins. Will he love them like he loved her ?? NO !!! That man is a wife lover through and through. But theres one thing about hypmic that i absolutely adore, and its their utilization of platonic love. Rei is slowly learning to cherish sasara and rosho just as they are him. Its obvious sasaro already cherish and love each other on some level, with sasara immediately thinking of roshos dreams when met with his own to start comedy with him again. He didnt want to enroach on roshos new found identity. And rosho, pushing sasara to find his own new identity. And so many more examples.

But with rei, he stopped himself from cherishing and loving, keeping himself in the past where the only person he has ever, truly, loved with his whole heart resided. So when met with two people who had a bond like he once did, he stayed stagnant and kept himself where he was. That was, until they forced him not to.

So who is rei? Rei amayado, Rei yamada. I think he is a man that loves, truly loves.

Everything that he does was done from a place of care. Was he perfect? No. Not at all. Ramuda exists now, but to him that was a side point in getting nayuta back, and creating their shared world. He did it for nayuta, everything for nayuta. Because he loved her. And absolutely still does. He did it for his children, because in some way he still cares. Even if he acts like he doesnt. And now he is continuing on for his strengthening bonds with sasara and rosho, because they are giving him a chance to recount himself, and find out who he wants to be in his future. He isnt done living despite his old age, he has so much more to do and figure out, things he thought he could only do with nayuta by his side. Of course he wants her back, desperately, he truly thought she would never leave him. But now she has, and even though she isnt with him, he has the opportunity to restart with sasara and rosho. And hopefully be a changed man when nayuta comes back.

Rei, no matter what name he takes, is a man who loves, and will continue loving.

gothcleats being canon is the last thing i expected but i think they were the most likely to make it from the beginning tbh. after ten seconds of interaction i was like "yeah okay" (and that being said, lincoln being a coach like darry? please just go ahead and kill me its okay)

OMG OMG JENSEN LORE?? were going to be here for a while (these are literally my fav types of asks)

yes jensen does leave edenbrook (and unfortunately it is not cute and fun. but anyway.) like 2-3 years post book three (i havent decided exactly when)

so in my hc ethan is as bad, if not worse than he is in canon. hes always had issues w jensen, and jensen is not one to try and smooth it over. this post is a lot more detailed, but for a quick summary, ethan always had something of a thing for jensen, but didnt know how to act on it. like hes never been w men before in a romantic sense (just some weird fucked up competitive longing way. cough cough tobias) so he had a hard time coming to terms w that aspect of it. and on top of it jensen wanted NOTHING to do w his ass

jensen tells it like it is and ethan has always taken it very personally, which has put a lot of distance between them and sparked Many arguments. jensen has been upset w him for making his first and second year so much more difficult than it needed to be, and ethan has never apologized or acknowledged it. overall, they just frustrate each other and theres a lotttt of tension between them all the time. theyre both headstrong but in opposite ways (ethan likes to be right and outsmart people, jensen just wants shit to get done which makes him very direct) and its just never worked out, essentially

ethan also has a remarkable talent for hitting triggers jensen didnt even knew he had. theyve had their fair share of blow-up arguments because of ethans demeanor, abuse of power, and how they handle cases in general, and ethan just knows right where it hurts every time. jensen doesnt even like arguing, and usually he just shuts down the second they start raising voices, but he always tries his best to get his point across before then

anyway, now that you have the backstory, we can actually get to How jensen quits

at the end of book 3, jensen takes over the diagnostics team and ethan takes up an administrative position. in fandom, a lot of people keep ethan as the dt lead bc he would hate an administrative position. i know this and put him in the administrative position anyway bc its what he deserves. with that in mind, ethan takes pretty much any chance he can to stop in to check on the dt and the cases they have. hes a Terrible micromanager and doesnt like the changes jensen has made to it

jensen tries to take his advice/guidance in his first year leading it, but is ready to make changes/decisions by himself as time goes on. ethan is not ready to give up his spot, even if he already did in writing, and it just turns into a lot of unnecessary overseeing and trying to comment and help on cases after jensen already had them distributed and handled

ethan has always had a problem when it comes to questioning and not trusting jensens calls and judgement on diagnostics cases. while he was more subtle about snooping into some of the DT cases, theres one case he goes over jensens head with and changes a bunch of the calls he made just bc he didnt trust that jensen could "handle" it

jensen ends up finding out, obvi, when the patient he spent nights and days researching for is suddenly Not following the treatment plan he laid out. he talks to the rest of the dt about it and obvi nobody knows anything, so it doesnt take him long to figure out what happened

ethan comes to see them and it is Not pretty. jensen straight up asks why tf he touched the case, and jensen knew it was because he didn't trust him, but he wanted to hear him say it to confirm. they end up arguing back and forth, but, for once, jensen doesnt just sit quietly (theres more reason to this that will be detailed in the fic i eventually post ab it). when ethan yells at him, which usually keeps him quiet, jensen lays out every instance where ethan has ruined his time there. how hes selfish, priviledged, and doesnt stand for anything someone in medicine should care about. basically spells out every way hes incompetent and biased as a doctor and how actually he should just quit bc he was never cut out for it in the first place. and then jensen quits on the spot.

now, jensen had actually been looking into leaving before that. bryces residency was done, and bryce had been having a difficult time connecting w people bc when you push everyone out of the way to get to the top, surprise, they dont like you! also, jensens ambitious as fuck. hes wanted to start more accessible dt resources and teams across the country since he heard ab edenbrooks team

so while him quitting seemed very impulsive, he was already waiting on offers from a hospital in california and chicago (and trust, they were happy to have him)

the whole thing was a HUGE point of drama for the hospital. jensen is not known for blow up reactions. hes more known for lack of reactions to big things, if anything, so to have him quit like that was absolutely wild. also like. thats just an insane way to quit as it is

but in the end it led to a lot more scrutiny of ethan and how he behaves as a doctor. his behavior is highlighted in the book jensen eventually writes ab his experience w the medical field (not by name, but it doesnt take much to figure it out) which also ends up leaking a lot more shit ab ethan as the board further pushes into the specific incidents detailed in jensens book. basically jensen ruins ethans career which is so real of him

once again barging into your askbox to talk about your girlies because i had that human!echo design + the additional tag tidbits in my mind since yesterday, and its driving me up the wall.

anywho, i more or less went through it in my tags, but the whole idea that a lot of the darkrai traits carried over to her human self, and that her body on its *own* feels broken, misshapen and almost monstrous in nature which makes echo in return feel dysphoric in return and combined with the amnesia is just genius.

looking down at your own body, your hands, your face, *everything*, and it screams of imperfections you don't know why they are there. the feeling that something in your body is wrong, it feels irregular. like being shoved into a compact box that hardly fits your silhouette, despite texts and mythos from millenias ago confirming that this is how a 'human' is supposed to look. how *echo* is supposed to look. yet she still has this feeling in her heart, this feeling and sensation that something is wrong with her. but she has no idea what could be the reason for it. she is human, is she not? did humans feel like this as well? but deep down, a part of her knows. whatever she is, it isnt human. it's a twisted attempt. a monstrosity that bears similarities, but is not what it was made to look after. just a shattered reflection that was glued and tethered together to represent a species that is no longer here.

and the traits that carried over are just the tip of it all, because theres just something about feeling this inexplicable darkness in your heart, this feeling of pent up resentment and vitriol, a will and a need for all life to *cease*, and you have no idea where it all came from, which adds further to the dysphoric feeling. like echo's own heart is folly, that there is something *wrong* with it, and it makes her see red. these sort of emotions and ideas of subterfuge that she does not know how she thinks of and resonates with so perfectly, how she bears her teeth against a world she has no idea how she arrived in strike further in her heart, because she does not know where such instincts and thoughts come from. was this always something that came commonly to her? were these feelings that wanted nothing but to ensure that the world will feel her vitriolic rage always a part of her? a ceaseless beating parasite that would only make herself harder to be with?

and of course, speaking of being with someone, the bond she had with grovyle before their separation absolutely destroys me.

grovyle being this mere young treecko, simply going through his 'daily' whims to survive in an unkind world, and coming across someone who could only be described as.. broken. someone who does not fit in this world. echo did not fit in this world. but grovyle was stubborn, and he made her fit. he made her feel loved. feel cared for. and in return, he changed her. to be loved is to be changed, so on and so forth. he gave her purpose in a world that offered none. and in return, she wanted to make sure he'll feel the warmth of the sun he longed forever. it's the least she could do. it's the least that the thorny burden she deemed herself to be could do.

and knowing that she felt deep guilt for reasons unbeknownst to her at that time will only help further with her now-existing grief and guilt as an umbreon. knowing that at one point, she covered an entire world in darkness, that she was vile and cruel to all life for the fun of it, and that she might have deprived many pokemon of a better life and left an everlasting nightmare on those who did not deserve it.. it makes her feel sick.

because it hurts. it hurts to know that someone like her can exist, redeemed or not. it hurts to know that the poison in her blood seeps into the earth, that it just makes it all the while clearer of how much she was but a product of inexplicable evil. killing the world around her even when she does not intend to, and just how much she was better off at being left on her own to perish. grovyle and sora, big as his heart was, did not deserve to put up with this mess. they did not deserve to know that someone they care for would easily break them apart had they not delicately and patiently nursed the evil away from her heart, and that she really is just what her previous incarnation had the powers to control to its whims.

a nightmare. one that pitifully looks back at its existence and knows that it does not bring anything good with it. and most nightmares at least have the decency to go away when you wake up, echo has to bear the idea that she is a nightmare that not even sora is aware of. something that she cannot open her eyes to, because she does not see echo as a nightmare. none of the people who love her see her as a nightmare, even when she's so desperately thinks that she is.

(and i already said it before, but i think gaia and echo might find some comfort in one another the same way she'll do with erida, given how they both doomed (or nearly doomed) a world in the mass reign and destruction their past incarnations' wakes, and the woes they'll share and how they'll try to cope with everything that follows. it ain't easy moving on knowing that you wanted to destroy the very ground you walked on for whatever reasons you may have...)

The descriptions you provided about Grovyle and Echo's bond. The way you perfectly built upon Echo's dysphoria and somehow managed to put my thoughts directly into words!!!

Human!Echo lives in my brain CONSTANTLY because they are so broken. They are wrong and they know it. They are something that should not exist. And they are so angry at everyone and everything. And yet here is someone (Grovyle) that loves them. That cares for them. That sticks by their side in all things and believes in them even in spite of their rage and fire and loathing and scorn. Someone that forgives them for their lashing out and violent pain. And all of that love from Grovyle slowly starts to change Echo.

And that love follows Echo into her next life and spurs her healing. Without Grovyle's love and care, I truly think Echo wouldn't have stayed with Sora. Echo wouldn't have had the willingness or patience to care about her, to start loving, to start wishing and hoping and feeling. And you get this, Sinnoh. YOU GET THIS!!!

You understand SO MUCH about how Echo feels as an Umbreon. The weight of the guilt she carries knowing the full truth about her past, over having the entire picture of her rage and failure. Of the way she'd closed her heart to the world and tried to burn it down. And how much she wants to take responsibility and work at becoming someone better not for the sake of her own redemption, but for the sake of her friends. To pay back the love they shared with her, the love she feels she did not deserve. The love she wants to PROVE meant something.

And gosh!! Gaia and Echo! I really need to do a deep-dive on these two and send it to you sometime. I could rant about them, I just KNOW it. The guilt they both harbor. The urge to right past wrongs. The love they've learned to carry. AHHH! I love Gaia SO MUCH and Echo would definitely find comfort in her. I can confirm they would be very good friends because it's always a reassurance to know that you aren't alone. That someone with similar experiences is in your corner. And both Gaia AND Erida can be that for her. <3

The rough feeling of stone scraping your knees and cutting into your hands was never a welcoming sensation. The climb towards this cave had to be your least favorite part about this mission, not like the others. you finally reach the mouth of the cave and let out a breath of relief, throwing your leg up into the opening. Careful not to disturb the skulls and bones littering the ground, you pad into the massive cavern smelling of hot stone and fire.

As you begin to look around, you notice that the space looks lived in with food and clothes strewn around what looks like a foyer. “What is this place?” you whisper out as you begin to walk further into the den, what looks like a long hallway stretches out in front of you jewels, weaponry, and other riches strewn about. peering down the hall, you stop when you hear a noise, the sound of a door opening causing you to pause and duck behind a wall. “Im telling you, you can’t keep staying here its too close to the village'' you hear a detached voice from the other room getting closer. You hold your breath as a man with broad shoulders walks by you, phone to his head as he runs a hand down his face. 

Before he has a chance to turn, you creep up behind him raising your hand to strike the back of his head. But it’s like he senses you, quickly spinning on his heel; one hand grabbing your wrist and the other around your throat. his eyes widen as his grip loosens and you fall to your knees, clutching your throat. “fuck dude” you wheeze out as you struggle to catch your breath, a touch of fear drifting through you at being caught off guard. He peers down at you with a look of confusion and familiarity “what are you doing here?” he asks as he hooks his arms under yours and lifts you up, checking your neck to ensure he hadn’t hurt you too badly. 

You look into his eyes, confused as to why he’s here and asking you, why you’re in this dragons nest. “Well i came to do my job, a couple villagers said they saw one of them flying around here on their way into town, so they asked me to come check it out “ you say as you continue to walk around “now what are you doing here, San” you walk into what looks like a bedroom hmm weird... “well uh… someone came to me too, so i came to check it out, but there’s no dragon here” he mutters out as he follows close behind you. “Well considering the bones and stuff laid around this place, i find that hard to believe. Unless this place just belongs to a homicide hoarder” you whisper out as you open the last door in the hallway, and what’s laid ahead of you confirms your suspicions. The walls are covered in scratch marks, as if something was clawing to get out, there are scatters of black iridescent scales around chains bolted to the ground.

 “This has to be it’s nest,i mean look at these scratches”you trail your fingers along the rough lines carved into the wood. “But then what about the uh bedroom and food and stuff” he stammers out as he glances around further studying the room “maybe the outlaws are hiding dragons, you know selling them for money or something” you whip your head around in surprise. “I didn't think of that” you whisper out as you stand to your feet pulling out your map, you like to navigate the old fashioned way, no need for phones and fancy gadgets that’s not how you were raised. “I’m gonna make a trip to hongjoongs and then yunhos” you say as you exit the room heading towards the opening of the cave “you tagging along?” you question as you glance back, noticing him lingering. “Nah im gonna scope around the area, see if i can find any signs of some outlaws” he looks around the hallway “clearly whoever stays here has some pretty sticky fingers” he observes as he picks up what looks to be a pretty expensive necklace.

“Ok catch you later” and with that, youre descending back down the caves mountain.

“I don’t know joong, it was odd. There were clear signs of it being a nest but it looked too human like” you ponder as you walk around the shop, dodging dried up flowers and herbs hanging from the ceiling; week old ingredients he has yet to use. The paper-like sound of herbs being ground in the mortar and pestle and added to the  bubbling cauldron, being the only response you receive from him. Which is a normal occurrence from the mage, he becomes consumed in his craft and often forgets that there is a world around him. 

Kim Hongjoong, Hala’s resident potion master and village herbalist. You’re not sure how long he’s lived here, but you know he’s been here as long, if not longer, than you. He helps the village combat illnesses and injuries of all kinds big or small, be it with potions or simply just a wave of his hand. Now as you stand here and wait for him to finish up, you wonder where his small mischievous companion is, as he’s the more talkative one of the two. “Where did yeo run off too?” you question as you place a small vial of some glowing oil back on its shelf, not too fond of knowing what side effects that has. “not sure, something about a council meeting for some festival” he murmurs as he rubs a hand against his sweaty forehead and wipes it onto a cloth, spinning around to face you. His pointed ears wiggle a little bit as he makes eye contact with you, his azure blue hair falling into his eyes as he blushes hiding his gaze from yours.

He wasn’t expecting you to be so close, not used to many humans in the shop or any in general. Hongjoong keeps to himself, he takes requests, makes the desired potion or spell, and then yeosang delivers it. Thats been the gig for as long as you can remember, but you love coming in from time to time just to catch up with him. And maybe just maybe the fuchsia flush to his cheeks or the stall in his words amuses you just a tad bit, but don’t tell him that or he’ll get even more shy. You hear the bell to his shop ring, both of your heads whipping towards the door yeosang flying in with panic and fear flashing across his face. “The village is under attack” he breathes out as he grabs the sleeve of your jacket, dragging you towards the door “quick we have to get to yunhos, we need weapons and supplies, and i need to get you to san, but of course he’s still away on his journey, but we’re under attack which really couldn’t have come at a worse time but i digress” he rushes out, wings flapping fast and mouth moving even faster.

You glance towards hongjoong, his eyes wide with concern as he watches yeosang drag you out the door. “y/n,” he whispers, “stay safe please” hands already moving towards his spell book, casting a protection spell on the village, one that has yet to fail. As you make it out of his shop, you could already smell the fire, taste the ash, flashes of a previous life on the forefront of your mind as you see houses in the distance set ablaze by the dragons in the sky. 

Out of your peripheral vision, you swear you see a black shadow peeking out against the bright blue sky. Fear rushes through you and you remember your dream, a dark dragon, with neon green eyes, and a set of talons sharp enough to leave scars.

The same scars that line your back…

Yandere! Zombie x reader pt 2

She looked like she was just infected, she still has a fresh wound. She’s too far from saving from the infection though. Her eyes held mine in a chokehold. Swirling with desire, mischief, and obsession. It terrifies me.

She starts leaning closer to my ear, as if to say something. Waiting for her words, I’m shocked to feel her inhale deeply. She was smelling me. Letting out a sigh she leans back with a smile. The corners were ripping confirming that she is in fact infected. It gave her an inhuman look.

I start tearing up out of fear. She noticed this and started talking, “don’t worry baby. Theres nothing to be scared of with me around. I’m Judy going to bite you real quick so you can never leave me”.

Hearing her words I start to violently thrashing, trying to push her off. I bite her arm, making her momentarily distracted. Using this, I manage to push her off me. Taking no time to think I bolt in a random direction. After a second I hear her get up and going after me. The farther I try and get away the closer she gets. She runs faster than any human ever could. Within second she was able to tackle me to the ground with a harsh growl.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?! ARE YOU TRYING TO BE KILLED, CAUSE I CAN ARRANGE THAT!”, she burst out. I shake my head trying to not piss her off any more. She can easily take me out. Easily take my life as if it were nothing.

While holding me down she sighs heavily. Meeting my eyes she said, “Look I don’t want to hurt you baby, but you need to listen to me. I will bite you. You will take it. You have no choice. You may not love me now but you’ll have the rest of eternity to learn to”. Once again she leans close to my ear. Snapping open her mouth, getting ready to infect. I can feel the color drain from my face as I know what’s about to happen. I pray for a miracle to happen in the split second before her mouth made contact.

I realize it’s too late as I feel her teeth sink deeply into my neck. Slowly. Agonizing. Filling my stomach with dread. My neck burns in a white pain. Pain that slowly subsides as I lose consciousness. As she notices, she holds a look of pure joy. As if it were her wedding day, and not my doomsday. She starts to giggle like a school girl as my hearing starts to fade. As my hearing goes, my body starts to freeze before losing feeling. The last to go is my vision. As my eyes die out I can see her mouthing, “soon darling. Soon, we’ll be one”. She was the last thing I saw before I succumb to the darkness.

Racism, Sleep, T*mmy, and the 9-1-1 Writers’ Room

Or why I hate how the 9-1-1 writers wrote Hen and T*mmy

TW: discussion of racial abuse in the workplace, particularly firefighting and the military, and PTSD from racial trauma

No because no one in the 9-1-1 writer’s room has actually faced the sort of racism that they put Hen and Chimney through in their Begins episodes and it shows.

So, fun fact about me, when I first watched 9-1-1 in May 2023, I skipped Hen and Chimney begins because that sort of racism in the workforce is so absolutely triggering for me that I didn’t want to watch them. I looked up the summary on Google, had my fears about the racism, misogyny, and homophobia confirmed and didn’t watch them. Eventually, with the emotional support of a friend of mine and the physical presence/support of my sister, I gritted my teeth through both episodes and HOLY FUCK!

I don’t doubt there are people in the 9-1-1 writer’s room who have experienced racism and other forms of prejudice. I don’t doubt that there are people in that team with lived experience in people causing them serious harm and racial abuse in the workplace.

I’m strongly doubt there is someone in the writer’s room that has been put in Chimney and Hen’s scenario but especially Hen’s.

I cannot stress enough how much horrific and terrifying racial abuse in the workplace becomes when you have to sleep next to the people racially abusing you.

Yes, we have police officers that come forward to talk about their abusive treatment. Yes, there’s EMS and people at Fortune 500 companies and doctors and lawyers and writers who experience racial abuse. But most of them did not have to sleep next to the people perpetuating their racial harm every shift. None of them have had to eat meals prepared by them every time they go to work. None of them have to trust the people racially abusing them with saving their lives in a situation where they could just as easily say it was “impossible” to save them (yes police sometimes but not at the frequency of firefighters). Most people in situations where they are being racially abused do not have to worry their colleagues will leave them to die.

There is a reason why firefighters are the least diverse racially and gender wise out of police, EMS, and the military, and it’s because of the elements where there is so much more proximity for serious, serious harm that makes joining up terrifying. Theres a reason most fire departments cluster marginalized group of people because it’s a safety issue. It’s an issue that marginalized folks in this situation are safer in groups than alone. Because the prejudice is unlike most workplace racial harm.

The best comparison I can give to being racially abused as a firefighter is when folks in the military experience racial abuse in boot camp/basic training. My dad experienced it in 1995 and in 2020, when he drove with my sister to her new house and they passed by the city he went to basic training in, my sister watched his head seem to take flight from his body as he talked about the racism and the fear. Twenty five years and four combat tours in the “war on terror”, and even being in the same city as the one he faced racist abuse in brought his body and brain to a screeching halt. Basic training was one of the most traumatizing things he’d been through in the military, because of racist leadership, because of racist fellow recruits, because of the people that did nothing because they weren’t allowed to. Because he had to sleep there, sleep amongst people that he was terrified of.

But back to firefighters, that fear is real and visceral. When you are forced to sleep next to the people that hate you, that wish you harm and pain. You have to sleep next to them when you know that if they hurt you, unless it’s serious, they won’t face consequences.

Go look up Raheem Hassan, the Muslim firefighter who sued the fire department of NYC and what his colleagues did to him while he slept and how the department responded to it.

I know everyone says that “there’s a reason no one’s says F the firefighters!” And that reason is because firefighters tend to turn all their racist harm on their colleagues. And when it’s bad, it’s bad.

There is a reason why most firefighters who complain about discrimination in their department have already transferred or end up transferring. When firefighters finally get to the point where they complain to the department or the city about their workplace, it’s not because it’s gotten mean or cruel or hostile, it’s because it’s gotten unsafe.

Because mean/cruel/hostile is the rule not the exception.

So watching Chimney and Hen Begins where they both, but Hen especially, experience the racism that makes their workplace unsafe, that should make them afraid to sleep, to bring their lunches from home, lock them in their lockers, and not let them out of their sight (because guess what? Firefighters have poisoned colleagues in these situations), makes them question their own personhood, and them seeming not to have lasting consequences from it? As though racial trauma of that magnitude wouldn’t cause PTSD and hypervigilance? As thought it wouldn’t cause skepticism of new firefighters and distance from every firefighter that did nothing but sit there as it happened for months?? Especially for Hen??? (Because anti-Blackness and especially misogynoir present themselves so differently in terrifying ways from other forms of prejudice.)

9-1-1 loves writing their actions without consequences or not thinking through the consequences.

The writers could sell me on Chimney forgiving Tommy, mostly because Chimney’s early experience was different. But Hen? Not only forgiving him and working alongside him? But inviting Tommy into her personal social life? Nope. No way. For nothing else than for the fact that I don’t know a single Black woman that is going to invite someone with that level of questionable safety into their personal life. There is no one, not a single person, that both perpetuated racial harm and sat there without saying a word while I was racially abused, that I’m inviting into my life for funsies. It is also out of character for who they portray Hen as, which makes it more confusing.

Even if Hen trusted him as a colleague, it is absurd to me that the writers think this would translate to Hen welcoming Tommy into her life outside of work or even being friendly outside of the settings where she’s required to. It doesn’t matter if he’s changed. Not only has he not actually demonstrated that change on screen (sorry y’all but yt gays can be horribly racist too.) We don’t get an on screen acknowledgment or apology.

And again, when you’ve experienced that level of racism in an environment where these people could seriously harm you or unalive you and likely face zero consequences, there’s no way you’re risking inviting someone that both sat there while it happened and participated in it into your personal lives. And holy fuck if your friend started dating them knowing what they did, you’d be having words.

The experiences you have when you’re experiencing racial abuse from people you have to sleep next to and eat meals with will imbed themselves in your psyche for years to come. Your heart will race try to fall asleep at work for decades afterward. You will question every meal prepared by a colleague, even when you trust them. You will regard new colleagues with suspicion. You will take naps in common areas. You sleep will rearrange itself to awaken you at the slightest sound and not because you need to be up for calls. It will take years to lose that hypervigilance, years that will not be undone in just a moment, when the big bad is fired, when the old guard leaves for new positions. In 24 years, when your kid asks you what that experience was like, your brain will disappear and your body will go respond m. You will still remember the faces and names of the ones who stayed silent (or took months to come forward) just as well as the perpetrators.

And you certainly would never consider inviting them to dinner.
