#i did like him in doctor who (and he was the first doctor i ever watched actually) but he seemed a little toothless#in the way that doctor who always seems to me tbh (though in his case i do blame stephen moffat's writing)#tbh i think he's one of the few actors who's played the doctor in the last 20 years who's successfully managed to move beyond the role#like even in regards to david tennant i think most people's primary association with him is still doctor who#(which tbh is not helped by the fact that good omens is basically superwholock 2.0)#k watches hotd

You are aware that Ace and Sabo are brothers. That ship is incest. It would be best if you took it down because of how problematic that is
Warning, this turned into a rant
They are adopted/sworn brothers, so the ship is not technically incest.
If that ship bothers you, several One Piece ships should bother you in between adopted brothers or sworn brothers, but I have seen zero complaints. This includes Buggy/Shanks, those two were raised as brothers as far as we know, and Marco/Ace, who became sworn brothers. Remember, Ace joined The Whitebeard Pirates, AKA the Sons of Whitebeard. They all are sworn brothers. So let's please be coherent in your hypocrisy
Isn't this Tumblr? I can't be that old because I remember the heyday of Superwholock. The two most popular Supernatural ships were Destiel and WinCest. Remember, they were so popular that the Supernatural show even addressed this in its meta episodes. What the hell happened? And I remember the Ouran High School Host Club speech where the twins said the whole appeal behind them is when you have two attractive guys who struggle between their attraction and their friendship. Plus, because they're twins, it makes their relationship taboo so even more intriguing. So they were hyper-aware of what they were doing with their whole queerbating/twincest thing, and Tumblr ate that crap up.
It's one of those things where it's fiction, so it's not real, so it's okay because no actual person is being harmed by whatever problematic content is portrayed in whatever fictional media. I personally have zero problems with the most problematic content. But that doesn't include all problematic content. I do have lines when it comes to child characters and lollies. That's why there are rules on my blog. But I can also separate fantasy from reality, and if you can't, you probably need to talk to someone about that because that's a problem.
Again, seriously, what the hell happened to the fandom culture on Tumblr? Why are the moral purity police everywhere? I joined fandoms and Tumblr to escape the oppressive Bible thumpers that I grew up around. Why am I now encountering more oppressive moral policing online from fandom idiots than I do from the Church Karens in real life? I live in the conservative Bible Belt. Those Church Karens are everywhere and in everyone's business
Sorry for my rant. I am tired, and I'm still trying to figure out what the hell happened. I've been on Tumblr on and off since 2010, and I feel like I hardly recognize this community anymore. Now, I have been made aware of the anti-shippers/ anti-fandom movement, and I know it's not just a minor thing because this is something I have found multiple academic research papers on. I'll link a good one. But I pray it's something else cuz these are just kids who don't know better at the moment. I hope one day they will realize this behavior is the equivalent of the Boomers blaming all of the Gen Z and Millennial behaviors. They don't like on violent video games. Again, sorry for the rant

Dead Boy Detectives is honestly trauma therapy for queer Destiel survivors, and this show is about to become a good 75% of my personality because of it. Destiel was the ship I jumped to after Xena went off the air, and I blame the continuous lack of overtly gay resolution in my life for a decent chunk of my neuroses.
I mean seriously, the show is about two male leads, who solve Supernatural crimes together, and have an inexplicable and profound bond that transcends the immediate and physical nature of love into something that defies the natural order of the universe. Oh, and one of them is an Edwardian twink in knickerbockers who doesn't understand pop culture references.
As if that wasn't enough, the show even has an anti-Becky. Her name is Niko, and she's a delight who offers to help ghosts embrace their sexuality with explicit yaoi manga.
Also, there's dancing skeletons.
It's like I woke up and it's 2012 again. The strangest craving for another hour in the ball pit is overcoming me. I'm going to the bank later, I might even change into one of my Welcome to Night Vale shirts. I'm embracing this regression. I miss the enthusiasm I had during my Superwholock era.

Of course this is said from someone who has never seen the show. God forbid folks favorite character, is THE SECOND MAIN CHARACTER AND IN THE TITLE OF THE SHOW.
God forbid abuse survivors find Adrichat’s story relatable and react negatively to people who salt on him for, checks notes, being a rich white boy? Because being rich and white protects you from abuse lol okay
Someone go tell Kesha that the horrific abuse she endured for years doesn’t count because she’s rich and white.
Someone go tell Britney Spears and Amanda Bynes that they deserve their conservatorships because they’re too volitile and emotional and need someone else to control their entire lives. Also they’re rich and white so they should be thankful for their privilege.
Also as a fandom veteran, I’m also baffled that this anon says they’ve never seen fandom go this feral over a white boy so I guess the whole Superwholock thing doesn’t exist in this person’s universe. I’m getting war flashbacks…
I really hope this doesn't come off as rude, but I just have a small request for any anons in the future: if y'all want me to comment on someone else's post, please send it in a separate ask. I just don't want to post someone else's post and start an argument or something.
That being said, I do agree. My detailed thoughts under the cut.
"Adrien stans are white people who get unhinged over a white boy," say the Marinette stans and Marinette stan observers, not realizing that they espouse disgusting abuse apologism on a daily basis and victim blame a character who is a victim of abuse for being traumatized all because he made a few decisions that weren't about Marinette and her well-being alone.
This is ridiculous on so many levels. First the assumption that all Adrien stans are white people. Second, the assumption that we must be Adrien stans because he's a white boy and we don't care about POC characters as much as we do the white ones. Which is actually quite insulting to me.
Maybe these people should actually read what Adrien stans have to say. Maybe they should actually understand why we love Adrien so much. Maybe they should understand why we get so heated over him.
Know what? I'll tell you why. It's because Adrien is despite the writers' best efforts to undermine him an interesting and likeable character. He is a canonical abuse victim, and he struggles with his self-worth and his identity, which is a relatable story to many people. He's an entertaining and interesting character. He's the deuteragonist of the damn show. People are bound to love him. There's more to him than being a white boy and it's very insulting to imply that people obsess over him because he's white or because his fans are white.
And about how Adrien stans get "unhinged" about Adrien and not about other characters... we're literally Adrien stans. Which means Adrien is our favorite character. Naturally, we're going to talk more about him. This is basic common sense. I don't understand the problem here with liking Adrien more than other characters. Are we not allowed to have faves anymore?
And you know why Adrien stans get "unhinged" over him? Because the show treats him badly! Why shouldn't we get mad that a character whom we love is being treated poorly by the writers? Why can't we get heated about that? Marinette stans get heated about their fave being victimized by the narrative all the time, so why is it a crime if Adrien stans get upset if Adrien gets the same treatment? Adrien's story in the show ended with him being reduced to an object and a prop for his girlfriend so that she could side with his abuser and start controlling him instead. Why can't we get angry at that?
Marinette stans will talk about how both Adrien and Marinette are written badly but only Marinette gets criticized and how that's racist and shit, and will ignore the fact that our criticism has nothing to do with race and everything to do with Marinette siding with Gabriel to lie to an abuse victim, and how the show frames this as correct. We criticize Marinette because she's making an awful mistake and doing bad things! This is like, the worst strawman I have ever seen. At some point, it really feels like they are being willfully ignorant.
And about how Adrien stans treat other characters, riddle me this. Who has a proper tag dedicated to bashing them on AO3? Who was the character who was salted on so much when Syren aired? Who was the character being raked over the coals when Chameleon aired? Who was the character who was salted on in Season 4 for breaking a damn fucking chimney? Who was the character whose struggles in Season 4 were overlooked by Marinette stans who criticized him for "being entitled to Ladybug?" Who was the character who was relentlessly salted on whenever he did anything that didn't completely attend to Marinette's needs? Who is the character who was labelled a "sexual harasser?" Who is the character on whom these "fans" rain down their victim blaming and abuse apologia? Who is the character who has the longest history of being salted and bashed by the Marinette stans?
And I will laugh at the audacity of Marinette stans to argue in favor of POC characters and blame Adrien stans for "obsessing over a white boy while not giving the same treatment to characters of color" while their legacy includes salting Alya for not being Marinette's perfect emotional support BFF. Who has their own salt tag apart from Adrien on AO3? Alya does. It's laughable to me that Marinette stans harp on about how Adrien stans prefer the white boy over the POC characters when they spent the better part of the last few years bashing Alya and even devolved into outright racism against her. To say nothing of how they treated Kagami after Frozer dropped.
And these people accuse Adrien stans of showing preferential treatment to white characters? Marinette stans have no leg to stand on when it comes to calling out other people's treatment of POC characters. And I'm not saying that the anon or OP of the post are racist or that they personally contributed to this. But if they are going to make sweeping statements about Adrien stans accusing all of us of going unhinged over a white boy and treating POC characters unfairly, they should maybe take a look inwards at their own community.
Marinette stans have spent years bashing every other character for the smallest perceived slight. Marinette stans created a whole new genre of Miraculous fanfiction dedicated to propping up Marinette like their personal goddess and punishing other characters for not being her devoted slaves. Marinette stans have contributed greatly to the racism in this fandom. Look at all this and tell me: who really seems unhinged here?
So yeah. Ice cold take imo. Also, obligatory disclaimer: Not all Marinette stans are like this! Most of them are nice and sweet, but there are also plenty of bad apples who have been responsible for a lot of toxicity in this fandom.
Thank you for your ask!

Oh god I just had thought. What if Davos and Aeron were on tumblr in like 2012, when the whole aesthetic/preppy blogs vs the fandom blogs thing along with blaming shit posts on Australian night blogging was going on.
Aerons the aesthetic blogger, he’s really into nature and other things. Davos is the fandom blogger like probably into superwholock or their worlds version of it. Anyway they’re both big in their respective blog types, but one day Davos rebloggs one of his mutuals who also follows Aeron and it’s Aeron’s post but Davos puts up a fandom gif and Aeron just looses it.
He rebloggs from Davos saying how he ruined a perfectly good aesthetic post with his shitty fandom gif. Aeron also accuses Davos of being the equivalent of an Australian night blogger, Davos is heavily offended by Aeron’s words. So he responds by saying that the fandom gif is relevant to what Aeron had posted and no he’s not an Australian night blogger equivalent, and really Aeron would be more fun if he was into fandom stuff it wouldn’t ruin the aesthetic of his blog.
They go back and forth for months until they finally figure that they’re pretty close to each other and arrange a meet up. Neither one is really surprised that the other is a Bracken/Blackwood, but what really surprises them is that they’re into the same stuff. Aeron in his personal life is heavily into the same fandoms as Davos, he just doesn’t blog about it and Davos is into the nature aesthetic photos Aeron takes he just doesn’t blog about it.
They start dating and interacting more on each other’s posts and all of their followers say they ship them. It makes Aeron and Davos laugh every time they see a these two should date reblog on their posts. Somehow all of their followers are surprised but not when Aeron announces that he’s engaged to Davos, no it wasn’t a prank.
Davos and Aeron post their wedding pictures and their fans absolutely loose it saying that they’re the cutest couple ever and they win life/spouse goals.
Idk it just feels very them.

Saw the ao3 top ship list and I am eternally confused by fandoms. Personally I don’t care about men like, at all and as a lesbian looking at that I feel like an alien. 3 femslash ships out of 100?
And you can’t blame it on “female characters just aren’t written well 🤠” sure 10 years ago when the biggest fandom was superwholock, but it’s 2024. There are PLENTY of well written woman, you just don’t want to venture into media that doesn’t focus around some skinny white twink boys.

I don't think that anti-fandom can really be blamed on kids being "cringe" and having an AU or OCs or ship that's far-fetched. I think it's due to a popularity treadmill. Things start getting pointed out as media ages, it may not have aged well, and instead of taking it into consideration they just blow the whole thing off and treat is as evil. This site is not good at nuance. Don't blame it on people having fun, blame it on the people who can't take "it's complex" (btw not trying to be rude!)
I think you misunderstood me. I dont care about people having fun, ive been vocally anti cringe culture for a long time now. I think everyone should do whatever they want forever. I think there is a certain group of individuals however who ignore a lot of the source material and then get angry that... its the source material.
Thats why i used marvel as an example in the tags. It was the biggest fandom on tumblr and arguably the wider internet when superwholock ran its course, and yet ive seen the same people who ran marvel blogs claim its the worst thing ever made and that anybody who likes it has terrible taste, as if they didnt... used to run with the URL stevelovesbucky or something. They become cold and mean and cyberbullies over something as inconsequential as blockbuster movies and you end up not with the critique they claim to be doing but just cyberbullying over other people liking the same thing they used to like. Except they didnt really like MARVEL, its more that they liked what their IDEA of marvel was. And theres nothing wrong with fanworks and fics, ive been in fandom all my life and I participate actively in those things too, its that they never actually liked whatever the source was, just the other people who did.
Theres a lot more examples I can think of that fit the same metric. Voltron, Steven Universe, Hamilton, hell I once saw someone get driven out of the Fallout fandom because they wrote a fic where their OC was a legion slave. Meanwhile, roman-style slavery has been a major theme in the Fallout universe since day 1! Thats a perfect example of what I'm saying: someone engaged in the actual source material, but it wasn't approved of by the folks who only liked Fallout aesthetically and not genuinely, because they were bullied and driven out for exploring problematic themes through the safe medium of fiction in the game series ABOUT exploring problemic themes through the safe medium of fiction
I dont have any issue whatsoever with people making fics and art and AUs and fanwork. My issue is with people who act like that fanwork is devoid of a source, and don't actually like the source at the end of the day, take the fanon as gospel, and then end up crucifying the source material and everyone who engages in it genuinely

There is this bizarre mischaracterization problem with Kingsley in the CR fandom that I think shows a certain level of contempt for the character himself — and honestly, I think it’s really revealing about a troubling hallmark of conditional support of nonbinary people in real life, which I find beyond hypocritical given…well, let’s get into it.
For starters, I'm not bothering with leaving a disclaimer about how not all fans do xyz or why I think that anyone should listen to me over anyone else. We’re adults here, we should know that things are nuanced by now. I also think talking about my own qualifications here is silly and masturbatory given that this is fandom and I'm very much doing it for free along with almost everyone else, so I'm not gonna waste the space.
Getting into the exceptions and such is well beyond the scope of this post, and I frankly don't think anything I say in this will convince anyone of anything — I just need to get it out there. If any of does change your mind, great! Icing on the cake.
*eyes glowing* anyway,
Given the admittedly considerable amount of work I do relating to his character, I wade through Kingsley's character tag a lot, and in many different places. On here, on Twitter, on AO3, his tag is full to the gills of bits of people writing stories in which he steals up to a certain member of the Nein and showers them with gifts and forehead kisses and...for lack of a better term, 'Mollyisms', and lays there enraptured while they talk about their relationship with Molly — who, obviously, is him. He's called "circus man" and is unbothered by it; it's testimony to the fact that this person and Kingsley have a history that transcends silly things like death.
Thus, the general depiction of Kingsley within the fandom is one that is not unlike Molly's, if not a 1:1 replica: a fun-loving, carefree libertine whose sun often rises at a certain other member of the Nein's forehead and sets are their toenails. He's curious about his past lives, but sees minimal distinction between them and himself.
And that's utter motherfucking hogwash.
The thing is, Kingsley's not an act II of Molly. He’s arguably a very different person from Molly, and the drift in Molly’s canon and fanon depiction is an essay on its own (not to mention the shift in perception in-universe, also brilliant and fascinating in its own right).
And I sincerely want us to think about that oversight in the same vein as if there were a considerable amount of Critters making content about, say, Beauregard Lionett falling in love with a man when she's explicitly a lesbian. Like, to me, it is that dire. And I will explain why that is momentarily: once I finish talking about who he actually is, and one of the principal culprits that I blame for this schism.
"But fruitzbat," some people might cry. "But fruitzbat, we have so little to go on. He's hardly shown himself on stream and he does, in the end, come from Molly!"
To that I would reply "skill issue," because Kingsley very much has distinguished himself from his siblings. Fandoms have extrapolated way more about a character with far less in the past. I didn't live through Superwholock on this website for anyone to tell me that they can't pull a fully-fledged character out of one episode of something. With all due respect, git gud.
Kingsley is a hustler and a cutthroat. He's driven, micro-managey — like, PAINFULLY Type-A, and interested in staying alive and making a name for himself; but in contradiction with this sense of self-preservation, he’s also ready to impulsively give himself up for a greater good and/or "make new mistakes", which can be read as altruistic at its best and unhealthy and self-deprecating at its worst (a trait which he definitely shares with Molly). In commenting on his new outfit, I’ve shitposted in the past that Kingsley is frum, but it's really not that far off. He doesn't like to leave things to chance, and also strongly believes in taking care of his own — he notably takes excellent care of the Nein Heroez’s crew. He doesn't suffer fools, he's snarky (too many examples to list them all, but have a few of my favorites), and also thoughtful and analytical and a skeptic. And most of all, he’s eager to learn and curious — not just about Molly and Lucien, but in general.
He jokes about being Lucien at one point, but makes it very clear that it's not him when people in his life make that slip-up. He's also been making the point that he’s not either of them as early as the campaign finale. And within the special, too, it’s pretty unambiguous. And then there’s Taliesin himself, also making it very clear that he’s a separate animal and on top of that, that he’s an absolute fucking badass.
And as mentioned, it's true that there's overlap with some of Molly's business — he's theatrical and loves fashion, for instance. But honestly, this character has far more in common with Lucien than he does with Molly. Lucien, who spoke multiple languages and lead a mercenary group into Aeor and back multiple times. Lucien, who even the mere prospect of him being resurrected was enough to reassemble the Tombtakers. If that’s not the makings of a Plank King, I’m not sure what would be.
And here's another thing: "Kingsley came from Molly" in and of itself is a misnomer. Based on both the stream and the addendum from the Lucien novel, Kingsley is mostly the reforged soul of Lucien — Molly's soul fragment was reintegrated into the rest of Lucien's. Kingsley is what was born from that fusion. When interceding on the failed Raise Dead spell, Caduceus said "put it back...whoever it was." There's just as much potential to say that it was Lucien's soul returned to that purple body by Melora as it was Molly's.
In all candor, I think it has a good deal to do with how many vocal Molly fans wanted Widomauk to be canon or somehow endgame.
The inherent tragedy of the dynamic between Caleb and Molly is that there is a constant specter of what could have been. Neither encountered each other when they were at a point to pursue their attraction, and Molly was dead before anything could come to pass. As a passive observer, I think that this what could have been has bled into the fanon interpretation of all kinds of purple tiefling content, mostly because there's so little to analyze otherwise. One only has to glance at the tags for the Lucien novel or the Molly origin comic to see what I mean. And I think that this has also significantly impacted the fanon depiction of Kingsley.
I find that this fandom in particular has a huge problem with sacrificing characterization in the name of fanon archetypes and tropes, but due to the distinct nature of Kingsley’s character this can veer into…I mean, pretty ugly territory.
People love the reincarnated lovers trope, and I see that applied here the most, to which I always want to remind people that Kingsley is probably more like a joined Trill. He has these past lives and memories, but just like Ezri isn’t quite Jadzia isn’t quite Kurzon Dax, Kingsley isn’t Molly isn’t Lucien. Ezri didn’t hop up and get busy with Worf, even when Jadzia had been his wife. Far from it, actually. Similarly, Jadzia had an entire exploratory episode dedicated to encountering Kurzon’s spouse and deciding that she (regretfully for lesbians everywhere) felt differently.
It’s true that it’s not completely baseless; I’m genuinely not saying that. It’s true that one of the first things King did was flirt with Caleb when he woke up. And then when he’d come more into his own, there was all that wild talk they had during the…
Oh wait, that’s right. They didn’t speak one on one even once during the reunion. So the argument could easily be made that in the chunk of the stream that showed us the most about who King was as a person, he didn’t touch Caleb with a thirty-nine and a half foot pole. Meaning that at this point in time, the basis of the ship is predominately Caleb’s relationship to his elder siblings.
I don't have time and ultimately have no interest in unpacking that in terms of it being solid foundations for a romantic relationship — we all can read, baruch hashem — and will also assume that there’s content about that dynamic that explores that weirdness with all the complexity that it deserves. But my central point here is that I’m seeing vanishingly little of it, and far more of it being used in a way that denies Kingsley his own identity. The point isn't hating on a ship. Widoking in and of itself is fine, the point is that people aren't actually shipping Kingsley with Caleb. They're shipping him with someone wearing the skin of his dead older brother.
Which brings me to my next point...
I find this aspect to be incredible given the extraordinary way that this campaign explores trans identity and narrative. Plenty of other folks have written about the extent that campaign 2’s focus on identity as a theme has resulted In one of the most comprehensive studies of several different types of trans stories. Like, VETH?!?
BEAU?!?! Not to mention FJORD’S UNRELENTING T-BOY SWAG?!?!?!
And yet.
And, yes, it is that deep. Let me explain.
Molly and Lucien are canonically genderfluid. Kingsley hasn't come out as anything yet, so the jury is still out... though many people, myself included, headcanon that he's some flavor of not cis.
For me, this is because Kingsley’s narrative is arguably more a traditional trans one than Lucien or Molly's: being born with the expectation that he would be one thing, then coming to his family — who hold that expectation quite dearly — and asserting that he is someone and something else completely different from that. Lucien and Molly are trans characters, no doubt, but their stories are not about being transgender. And there is an intrinsic quality to King's that definitely is.
The notion of "trans narrative" is also something applied to someone like Nott/Veth, even in a world where transness is not stigmatized. So while transphobia is not a thing as we understand it in Exandria, that doesn't change that Kingsley “came out” and transitioned in a more recognizable way to us than Lucien or Molly ever had to — in the same light as Veth arguably struggling with her self-image in a way that many trans viewers find exceedingly familiar.
If we can apply the queer critical lens and think of Fjord being a trans guy deconstructing toxic ideas of masculinity, or of Beau being a trans girl dealing with transphobic parents that wanted a son, got one, and cast her aside, we can also use that same level of discernment when it comes to Kingsley. There's precedent.
I don’t mean to get personal here, but the flat out dismissal of Kingsley's identity as an individual and not as the sum of other parts reminds me so much of my own experience of having come out as non-binary and then telling people that I was going to start HRT. The support dried up almost immediately the minute I made it clear I wanted to switch pronouns again and pursue medical transition, though I still conceived of myself as effectively genderless.
So long as you’re fun and funky and trans in a way that isn’t obtrusive, it’s fine. Well, “fine” isn’t the right word, but people are so fucking terrified of you becoming one of “those” trans people and taking the scary hormones and changing your body and getting the surgeries. It's the cousin of that perennial TERF talking point of "why can't you just be a tomboy/effeminate gay guy". As if being a tomboy/fem guy is somehow easier, too!! But I digress. To a lot of folks, Kingsley can be whatever he wants..........so long as he doesn't reject Molly as a foundational part of him, if not the, and heaven help him if he diverges from the mold Molly left for him.
For this reason (and for other transgender reasons that I don't want to get into), that has made engaging with a lot of this faux-Kingsley content difficult. Because Kingsley came out! Kingsley has told everyone who he is and what he's about, and folks are ignoring that in favor of an interpretation that centers a different person's existence entirely. And with this coming from a group of fans that tends to trend towards being trans, too, that's quite the bitter pill.
Creatively, I firmly believe that people can do whatever they want forever. And everyone has the right to make content where their Barbies scissor. I, for one, also am 100% guilty of it in other contexts. That doesn't bother me.
What does bother me is a collective delusion where a significant chunk of the fandom, in missing their tragically dead non-binary character, effectively stuff a separate one that resembles him back into the closet without noticing the cruelty of doing so. In fact, relishing in it.
And while these people are fictional and aren't real and can't feel pain aside from what we inflict on them narratively, it gives me pause about the way this trend mirrors common transphobic behavior I have experienced as a non-binary person myself. Thus, I cannot possibly watch it happen and not feel compelled to say something about it.
In essence, Kingsley has told us time and time again who he is and what he's about. If we say as fans that we respect the narrative integrity of Campaign 2, I think it's important that we listen and honor that.

AntiScott person here. Wanted to clarify that my antiTennant friend wasn't exposed to superwholock, she's barely on sm, so it's not a case of overexposure. She simply can't stand looking at him, listening to his voice, he disgusts her all on his own. Same as Scott does me. Overexposure would be a fairly valid reason for this sort of organic hatred. We have none. I know other such cases, it's sad though when people don't reflect on it and simply blame the poor actor/musician who did 0 wrong.
At least you’re funny and self-aware about it. I can’t be mean about either of these because I think not being able to enjoy AScott and DT works is punishment enough

I miss when people obeyed the unwritten fanfic rule which was to deny fanfic even existed when interacting with actors etc who are in your fandom unless the person who is in the the thing asks to see it
I blame superwholock fandom and BuzzFeed for this it made people too comfortable

I wonder how much of the conversation on tumblr about how people dont reblog like they used to is accidentally overlooking the fact that there are just fewer active users than there used to be, and that the era of super cross-pollinated fandoms is just much quieter? Superwholock isn't a thing anymore. The MCU is still popular but it's not the bonkers huge thing it was here just after Avengers came out. SPN ended, even. And then of course there was the sex ban exodus.
It just feels like a lot of posts about the lifetime of a reblog chain like to assign the majority of "blame" on widespread apathy when a lot of the factors that drove such engagement years ago aren't present anymore

come on now, you have to admit that polling so many lesbian ships against shit like destiel and johnlock on the superwholock website was fucked up
you doomed them
Listen, I do think the timing and amount of propaganda does make a difference. And unfortunately most people have heard of Destiel and Johnlock, but propably not everyone else. (I have no idea who most ships/characters are). YOU CANNOT BLAME PEOPLE FOR VOTING WHAT THEY KNOW
I did not set out to eliminate the lesbian ships wtf.
But hey, if you don't like it, you can leave
