Do you think the levihan fandom will die out now that the anime is over???
Hi nonny! I don't think so. At least not wholly.
The western fandom's quieted down but the eastern fandom is still appears to be going strong! If there's one reason to join Twitter it's to follow artists that aren't anywhere else, and it's worth it to keep the love flowing.
There's been drops in activity, and I think the reason is a multi-faceted one. Yes the series ended, but for a show of SNK's caliber, that didn't used to matter. I've commented on this before–and at the risk of sounding like a boomer– I blame binge culture, and more specifically, Tiktok, for playing a big role in how quickly fandoms die.
Even 5, 6 years ago, it didn't matter if a show was over; people kept the party going. A piece of official art or a merch drop kept a fandom fed for months. Now you're lucky for the hype to last a week. FmaB ended in 2010 and it was still hopping three years later when I joined in 2013. It took another four years for it to start quieting down and hell it wouldn't surprise me if it was still going. But now there's been this shift in mentality, and attention spans are shorter and sure we all joke about it but it's a real issue and you see it happen at an accelerating rate. There's absolutely nothing wrong with your interests changing, but I see over and over (at least on the artist side) creators only making stuff for fandoms if it can be profitable to them, and the second it's not they move on to the next big thing as a way to ride the hype and beat the algorithm instead of loving the thing for what it is. And I get it, it's how many make a living so they gotta do what they gotta do. It just unfortunately perpetuates this cycle of fandoms being trends rather than communities.
I will say SNK and Levihan kinda got uniquely screwed though. Due to the last season's (understandable) release schedule and the way it was marketed a lot of people kinda unfairly tuned it out. Add on to that how Levi and Hange's scenes were handled and the fandom didn't get as big a boost as it should have.
But for me, it doesn't really matter how many people are still in the fandom. If Levihan is what I feel like drawing then that's what I'll do :3 Presonally, art is too hard and too time-consuming to spend making something I don't want to. At the end of the day, it only dies if we let it. Which would be a pity because there's still the blu-ray, Shigeki Fly, and Bad Boy to look forward to! 🥳
#le me#replies#ramblings#fandom#snk#aot#levihan#fma#attack on titan#if any of this is coherent i will be v proud of myself#one of these days sleep will return to me :')#all that to say i still see new faces popping up so despite everything lh still is bringing people in#thats the power they hold ❤️

So I know FMA and Black Butler are manga women have written... what other ones are there? In your recent post I saw you have another favourite manga made by women excluding FMA, what is it?
I personally enjoy reading female authors depending on the story. Of course I can’t speak for them all, but I notice they don’t over-sexualize characters, even the men in their stories. Not saying it’s all male authors who do this, but they seem to over-sexualize characters more in their stories then women? What always gets me is when men say they don’t know how to write women but yet some women do it so easily... I feel men overthink it. We are opposite genders, not an alien species 👽 Like, just write a character and just label it a women?
Gonna answer all of these together.
First anon-yeah, idk dude like just create a human being and make them a woman. I’m not a writer tbh so I can’t say much more than that—but that seems pretty simple enough. I’m gandering that he just has no interest in incorporating female characters into his story unless it’s to draw them super sexualized in a very detailed way—because he sure as hell puts a lot of detail into it when he does this 🙄🙄🙄 I haven’t really made much commentary on this issue of his because it’s just...A Thing™️ that happens in manga and it is definitely NOT okay, and if we all really wanted go into it-our conversation could last for days about women in general being over sexualized in manga, and also just not being written into the story properly or utilized as an actual character—BNHA is absolutely not the only manga with this issue. I’m not excusing Horikoshi by any means but I’m just almost desensitized to it at this point. Isn’t that sad? Anyway.
So FMA is written by Hiromu Arakawa. Surprise surprise—FMA is one of the greatest stories of all time—in art, story telling, characters, and most importantly (to me) the ending is fuckin STELLAR. I say it a lot—top tier ending. I really hope we get one like that for BNHA.
In that particular post I mentioned my two fav manga of all time but I’ll list a couple more because they’re also written by women—but they’re Shojo so they may not be up you guys’ alley.
Fullmetal Alchemist is my top favorite manga of all time. I read that story in middle school—I didn’t leave my couch for three days and I was up all hours of the night because I couldn’t put my laptop down. And the anime FMAB is amazing also. At least once a year I get in a mood where I need familiarity and I just rewatch FMAB from beginning to end and I fall into the rabbit hole again for several months lol. It just has a very special place in my heart and it will never be replaced. This last panel reduced my 12 year old little to tears.
My second favorite of all time may end up getting replaced by BNHA depending on how it ends—but as of right now it’s still D. Gray-Man. D. Gray-Man is written by Katsura Hoshino (who I recently found out has the same birthday as me 🤭)
D. Gray-Man is still ongoing and it’s coming out on a quarterly basis due to the mangaka’s carpal tunnel. I started this one in high school it was my hyperfixation pretty much all throughout—but due to her health the chapters started slowing down and then eventually went on a very long hiatus. But now they’re coming out regularly—just sparingly. But D. Gray-Man is a very VERY good story—like breathtakingly so. It’s been ongoing since 2004. Almost 20 years and I’m still following it—and I’m gonna see it through til the end even though I’ll probably be like 30 lol. Possibly older. I recommend it but just know the chapters are currently coming out slowly. But Hoshino’s are is just—
Her artistic talent is unreal. Her coloring style HEAVILY influenced mine. The coloring style is very present in my current drawings. And Arakawa’s drawing style influenced mine as well.
I have a very very deep love for both of these stories. You have no idea.
Ahhh two more manga that were written by women but also are shojo so it’s not quite the same:
Fruits Basket and Ouran High School Host Club
Fruits Basket is good—I’d recommend it highly. They also are about to finish the anime remake that I’ve been wanting for over a decade. Written by Natsuki Takaya
OHSHC is definitely not for everybody. It’s very slice of life kind of? It’s a love story. The most interesting part about it are the two main characters—the love interests. Everything else about it is just fun light hearted stuff—no high stakes or anything. There is a climactic moment but it’s not life or death or anything lol. I recommend this if you’re just bored and need a fun read. I re-read it like once a year also because sometimes I just want a good love story—and this one is it. So is Fruits Basket. OHSHC is written by Bisco Hatori.
Also—thank you for reminding me that I need to get into black butler. I watched it but I always prefer the manga so I need to get into that one. Also another story by Hiromu Arakawa is Silver Spoon. I watched the anime and it was good so I’m gonna read it to get the full story. It’s not high stakes either so it’s more of a breather story but it was still enough for me to binge watch the anime. So yeah—those are my two favs of all time—written by ladies. Thanks for letting me ramble about my favorite things guys!

(sidenote im so so sorry i keep crashing into your inbox about this au its just that you 1) seem interested and 2) are the reason i watched fma and therefore started this au askjnas)

tagged -- now you’re it!
Thanks for tagging me @renchan7 xox
Rules: Answer these questions and tag 9 people you want to get to know better, or catch up with:
Three ships:
- Shikatema (Naruto)
- Sorato (Digimon)
- Royai (FMA/B)
Last song:

So On It - Miyavi (as I write this post)
Smells Like Teen Spirit (cover) - ONE OK ROCK ... dude, it took me three songs to complete this xD
Last movie:
Bad Boys For Life (2020) - LOL. Not by choice. My friend dragged me. It’s not my usual cup of tea.
Currently reading:
* Trying to read - Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker (my colleague is not impressed with my sleeping patterns and my caffeine addiction. she thinks this book will change my life. yet, i haven’t brought myself to read past the first page! haha).
**I’m also trying to read the latest S.J. Maas series - House of Earth and Blood. I’ll get to it once I’m less busy.
***On a weekly/daily basis (depends when they’re updated): A truckload of Webtoons - unOrdinary, Purple Hyacinth, Freaking Romance, Choco Latte, Your Throne, Rebirth, Unlovable Replacement, Marry Me!, Odd Girl Out.....just to name a few I’m actually reading more than this, so shh
****And, 2 weeks ago I was catching up with Tijan’s works and had a ridiculous binge, reading 8 novels written by her over one week. Haha. I’ve followed her since my FictionPress days - and Jace will continue to be one of my favourite baes of all time. I do prefer her older stuff more though because her plots do get quite repetitive. Typical bad boy x badass female protagonist. She’s my comfort author when I feel like an easy read, smut & being absolute trash ;)
To be honest, if you asked me this last year I’d just be saying I’ve been only reading Webtoons. I’ve been hermitting a whole lot due to COVID and work/ stress/studying/life, so it’s kinda nice to get back into my reading roots. Thus the semi writing hiatus. I’m kicking myself right now. I’ve been wanting to get that latest Chp of Lifelines up for a while.
Currently watching:
Youtube reactions (lol), Fruits Basket 2, Digimon Adventure (2020), Rewatching Naruto Shippuden & FMAB. Itaewon Class soon...
Currently consuming:
Had a salmon onigiri and a hojicha latte an hour ago...if that counts?
Currently craving:
Hm...I think the onigiri/hochija has simmered away my cravings for now. I’m quite full at the moment. I do, however, have shabu-shabu for dinner...so I’m pretty stoked for that!
Tagging: YOU!!!!... @sakurastar28 @blueberrrykissses ...and whoever. hehe.

32, 34 :) Ask thingy ~
Thank you for the ask! Sorry for answering this so late. I was, well, sleeping. Hope at least my answers can make up for my late response. ❤
32. Favorite show?
Maybe this is like a little contradictory but I don’t watch that much shows neither in tv or streaming. I am a much more avid reader and I absolutely love watching movies, all of these because two main reasons: I never get to watch that much tv cause, even though I have cable, the monitor is always hoarded by my brothers and I am really a terrible binge-watcher. It really takes me ages to see a show. But, from those I’ve taken the time to see, I think I have two that always come to my mind when I think of my favourites:
Avatar: The Last Airbender. I don’t like to say that “I was there before it regained all it’s popularity” but, yes I’ve been there. This was one of the shows I sworn by it’s quality. Since I was a child and watched it over nickelodeon I was amazed by it’s world building, characters, magic system and story-line. Here in Latin-America, or at least in Hispano-America, we got to have ATLA on Netfliix waaay before than in USA and, when I noticed that, I almost forced my younger brothers (they were born in the beginning of the 2010′s so they had no idea what ATLA was) to sat down and watch it. It’s one of those shows that I love mainly because of the “Pixar” effect it creates. It’s not only a show that it’s technical amazing but that can be enjoyed by children, adolescents and adults. There are few shows that triggered a three generation family gathering around a tv in my house and this is one of them.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Okay, cheesy. But true. I love FMAB (even though I prefer the manga). There’s not that much of an explanation why though in this case. Yes, it is a really good action shonen with, as in the case of ATLA, a really good developed world building, characters, magic system and story-line. But that isn’t what makes it for me in the case of Fullmetal. Let’s just say the story hit me in the right moment, and taught me a lot in the process. For comprehensive and enduring life lessons to basically screaming to me “Hey, you see, anime is not bad as you thought it’ll be! You are just a judgmental bitch that saw Dragon Ball, Bakugan and SAO and thought that anime was annoying, for kids or really not for me.” Yes, sorry, had that face and no - I am not saying all the series previously mentioned are bad at all, I just was an adolescent in my edgy face. And I got to thank my brother for insisting me to watch it and myself for unknowingly of what it was presenting the series in the first place - yes, weird and seemingly contradictory but that’s a story for another day. The thing is I love this anime and it is, till this day, the show I would recommend the most to anyone that doesn’t wanna give anime a try.
34. Any talents?
You know when in Mean Girls when asked Cady what she is good at Karen says...
Well I can actually do that. Don’t act how I know this. I just can.
But talking more seriously - I know how to play the transverse flute and the bass (really different instruments I know), also I been dancing since I was four and got to explore different styles - ballet, tap, contemporary, scottish dance, urban, etc and I have a weird tendency to remember everything I hear at least in the short term so when I was without that much time to study I would just do a recording of me reading the things I wanted to remember and listen it while running. I’ll stop there, I don’t know if these are like “talents” there are just things I acquired through time.
❤ Thanks again for the ask! ❤

2018. Hm.
Started therapy. Helpful, although I still get the occasional anxiety attack. Like right now.
Wrote a big long story (The Circle Breaker). Took more than half the year to do it. All I remember about it was that I was in a much better place when I started it than I am now.
Developed an extreme paranoia about illness/my body - the slightest ache makes me go “oh no I’m dying” (thanks to therapy again for helping me mitigate this)
Went to Australia! Which did wonders for my mental health, even if my dad gets on my nerves. Saw family there. Took a picture with a snek. His name was Lionel and he was a good boy.
Spent about a month going through the joys of AC: Odyssey. Fucking love that game.
Got back on my SWTOR bullshit.
Began to read books again, for the first time in over a year.
Binged FMAB three times. Might binge it again now, I think it’s still on Netflix. That was in like... January, but it feels so long ago fuck.
Cried at work at least once.
Hermes peed on my bed twice in one day so that was fun (he’s also behaving kinda weird right now so I’m a lot worried)
Made up like twelve OCs, eight of which are SWTOR ones. The other four are for Dragon Age.
Am twitchy bc I’m very lonely right now and I’m excited for tomorrow bc 1) it’s an excuse to call the parents, and 2) it’s Tuesday which means hanging out w/ college friends over Hangouts, thank god, we didn’t last week and I miss them desperately
...and this list is over now bc the waterworks have started.
#amaya talks crap#amaya does 2018#negativity#imean it's kind of a mix but there's most negative stuff so enter at your own risk#personal

1~40 the anime questions
. . . You asked for it, Teb.
Also, GIFs, because I can.
1: What is your #1 favorite anime?
My personal favorite anime, even surpassing FMAB on my list of “How much do I like it?”, is Problem Children are Coming from Another World, aren’t they? (Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?). I just really had a lot of fun watching it, and it holds a special place in my heart as what got me into anime to the EXTREME.
2: Has an anime ever made you cry?
You’d think so, since I’ve seen stuff like CLANNAD, GOSICK, and Anohana, but. . . nope. I’m heartless, aren’t I?
3: Which anime made you laugh the hardest?
It’s a three-way tie between The Devil is a Part-Timer! (Hataraku Maou-sama!), No Game No Life, and the previously mentioned Mondaiji. (That might show up several times over the course of this response, actually.)
4: If you could make a spin-off of any anime, what would it be?
Hmm, good question. Very good question indeed. . . I’ve never really thought about spin-offs that often, but maybe Tokyo Ravens?
5: List your top 5 anime's
Answered
6: List your top 5 anime OSTs
Same as above
7: Have you ever watched an entire anime in one sitting?
Nope, but I came close to it with the first season of New Game!
8: Who is your favorite anime character?
Is. . . is that even a necessary question for me?
9: Name an anime character you absolutely hate
I haven’t watched it yet, but I absolutely hate the guts out of Makoto Itou from School Days. F*cking *sshole. I know that he dies at the end of the anime, so that’s good.
Also, Syura from Akame ga Kill!. I’m happy Lubbock finished him off.
10: What is your favorite 'moe' anime?
Fate/Apocrypha is CLEARLY a moe anime! I mean, we have Frankie, Jackie, and if we’re counting traps, Astolfo!
I kid, I kid maybe. I’ve only watched a few anime that could be classified as “moe”, but if I had to choose, probably New Game!.
11: What is your favorite drama anime?
F*ckin’ FMAB, all the way.
12: What is your favorite romance anime?
I remember really liking the first season of The World God Only Knows (Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai), although I haven’t seen the second season, Tenri OVAs, or third season yet. I freaking LOVED OreGairu, though. I binged the entire first season in less than a day. (It wasn’t in one sitting, though.) Hachiman was like the most relatable main protagonist ever for me.
13: What is your favorite comedy anime?
Mondaiji.
14: What is your favorite action anime?
FMAB, Soul Eater, Hunter x Hunter (2011), and Fate/Zero.
15: What is your favorite harem anime?
Trinity Seven, dude. Or The Fruit of Grisaia (Grisaia no Kajitsu).
16: What is your favorite ecchi anime?
Probably No Game No Life, with Trinity Seven at second place.
17: What is your favorite mech anime?
The ONLY anime I’ve seen with giant mechas is Gurren Lagann, and that was a f*cking blast to watch, too.
18: What is your favorite drama anime?
It’s a freaking repeat question.
19: What is your favorite slice of life anime?
OreGairu or Hyouka.
20: What is your favorite adventure anime?
Log Horizon, probably. Also the necessary FMAB and Hunter x Hunter (2011) insert again. Also D.Gray-man. And Magi. And Arslan, and Digimon, and Yona of the Dawn, and--
21: What is the first anime you ever saw?
It’s time to D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-DUEL!!!!
22: You get to have a harem of [6] anime characters of your choice, who do you choose?
I mean, Frankie is the first character, obviously. Second would probably be Black Rabbit from Mondaiji. Third. . . Levi from Trinity Seven. Fourth, Yukino from OreGairu. Fifth will be Hifumi from Persona 5. (It’s getting an anime next year, and even if she doesn’t appear in it, I’m going to count her.) Sixth will be. . . either Emilia or Rem from Re:ZERO
Gods, who knew picking a harem was this hard?
23: What is the most times you've re-watched an anime?
I don’t know how many times I’ve seen Yu-Gi-Oh!.
24: Name [1] anime you wish everyone would watch
Mondaiji
25: What is an anime you regret watching?
CHAOS DRAGON
26: You get to have [1] anime character as your waifu/husbando in real life, who do you choose?
Do you even have to ask?
27: Which anime character are you most like?
Tenma from Tokyo Ravens, I feel like. It’s why I use him as a face-claim.
28: Do you watch a new anime because you think it will be good, or because its popular?
Honestly, sometimes it’s one, the other, both, or neither. I didn’t know what I expected when I first watched Mondaiji, for example, and here I am obsessing over it.
29: Has an anime's fanbase ever made you hesitant to watch an anime?
Attack on Titan kind of worried me for a bit. And I’m still hesitant AF to watch Yuri!!! on ICE.
30: How many anime episodes is 'ideal' for you?
I like anime that range from 1 to 4 cours long, particularly. There are always exceptions to my preference, though.
31: Have you ever watched an anime with over 23 episodes?
Tokyo Ravens was 24 episodes long. Checkmate.
32: If you could make a game for an anime of your choice, what would it be and why?
I would totally play the Elder Tale MMO from Log Horizon. No, seriously.
33: Would you ever watch an anime with over 100 episodes?
I’ve done it at least three times: D.Gray-man, Hunter x Hunter (2011), and Fairy Tail. I’m working on Gintama and Bleach, too.
34: Have you ever watched an anime only because you liked a specific character?
Not really.
35: Have you ever dropped an anime, if so why?
Nope. I’m freaking insane.
36: In your opinion, what makes a good anime?
Hmm, one that entertains, really?
37: Name a popular anime you love
My Hero Academia, for one.
38: Name a popular anime you hate
I didn’t really hate it, but The Future Diary (Mirai Nikki) was still pretty bad overall.
39: Is there an anime you wish was more popular?
Do
I
Even
Have
To
Say
It
40: Thoughts on live-action adaptations?
Although rare, there are occasions when they are actually decent. But they’re rare.

40 anime Questions thing: (so many to choose from) 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 17, 20, 21, 23, 24, 27, 32, 35, 36 and 39 (oops, you can choose which questions if there are too many)
Holy shit wow okay ^^ This is gonna be long so I’ll make it a read more post ^^
1: What is your #1 favourite anime? One Piece without a doubt! Attack on Titan and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood are close seconds though.
2: Has any anime ever made you cry? Yes, One Piece is the only thing to make me cry ever. I cried once reading a book, never watching a movie but One Piece had me sobbing into my boyfriend’s chest when Ace died.
3: Which anime made you laugh the hardest? Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The small animation skits they do for Ed always make me laugh and it’s my go-to anime to feel better.
5: List your top [5] animes. Okay, One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Attack on Titan, Death Note and maybe Hellsing? My brain has gone blank uh oh
7: Have you ever watched an entire anime in one sitting? I haven’t, no, I don’t have the patience to sit down and binge watch in one sitting. If I binge at all, it’s the first season or two of FMAB and then I continue the next day or two.
8: Who is your favourite anime character? I’m so sorry Zoro but my favourite alltime character is Olivier Armstrong from FMAB ^^ Such a bamf
9: Name an anime character you absolutely hate Blackbeard. I cannot stand him in the canon. I’ve said to a friend that I don’t mind him in so much in fan hc’s but in the canon, I LOATHE him.
10: Which [3] animes would you most recommend? One Piece, obviously! If it made me cry, it’s worth watching! FMAB definitely because it’s got so many interesting characters and every single one of them is a bamf. I would also recommend Death Note as a beginner’s anime because it was my first and it has such a large variety of genres and it’s so smart that I think it’s a good intro to anime ^^
13: What is your favourite comedy anime? One Punch Man. I know it’s not a comedy-central anime like Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto (this is a close second) but the character of Saitama had me laughing so much.
17: What is your favourite mech anime? I really haven’t watched all that much mech anime but I really enjoyed Evangelion when I was watching it a couple of years ago.
20: What is your favourite adventure anime? I’m so boring but either FMAB or One Piece :) They both appeal to me in different ways so I can’t pick between them!
21: What is the first anime you ever saw? Death Note!
23: What is the most times you’ve re-watched an anime? 4 times for FMAB. I am so boring I swear, and I’m about to rewatch it for the fifth time now because of this ask :P
24: Name [1] anime you wish everyone would watch. I wish that everyone would give One Piece a try to be honest. It took me a long time to try it as well because I was so daunted by the masses upon masses of episodes and I didn’t like the fanservice and pirates didn’t interest me at all but god, it took my like 10 episodes to be hooked. I just want people to give it a try.
27: Which anime character are you most like? This one was surprisingly easy, I think I’m most like Winry from FMAB. I have quite a soft friendly personality to most people but to those I’m closest to, I’m pretty weird and go a bit violent (out of affection!). I LIKE to think I’m badass like Izumi (FMAB) or Robin (OP) but really, no way, I am not as elegant and cool as either of them.
32: If you could make a game for an anime of your choice, what would it be and why? FMAB BUT LIKE A WORLD OF WARCRAFT POTTERMORE KIND OF THING WHERE YOU ANSWER QUESTIONS AND YOU’RE TOLD WHAT KIND OF ALCHEMY YOU HAVE AND THEN YOU CAN SPECIALISE HOWEVER YOU WANT AND YOU DO QUESTS FOR EVERYONE AND IT WOULD BE AMAZING and you earn the characters as followers. That would be amazing.
35: Have you ever dropped an anime, if so why? I actually dropped FMAB for a while because I had school, I’ve also dropped Hellsing for the same reason. I stopped watching Black Butler as well because I had One Piece to catch up on…
36: In your opinion, what makes a good anime? Interesting characters. It could be the most boring anime ever with no action or adventure whatsoever but as long as it has interesting characters that are relatable and are three-dimensional, then the anime is good. There are plenty of anime that don’t have any kind of adventure - they’re just school kids having fun. But they’re popular because the characters make it so.
39: Is there an anime you wish was more popular? Probably not, to be honest, since I don’t branch out all that much. Most of the anime I watch are ones that I’ve seen gain popularity and get hyped up. I’ve watched a few smaller animes but I’m really not the kind of person to go diving into something random. I suppose One Punch Man ought to have a bit more of a following for its comedy.
Jesus, this took ages! My brain went blank as I tried to remember all the anime I’ve watched :’) Thank you so much for sending this in, though, I appreciate it! It’s been a while since I’ve seen a little 1 by my message tab so you made my day ^^
