This is a post that I really don't want to make, but I need help. I've been just barely making ends meet for most of the past year; my roommate was forced to leave his job in March because his employer was stealing his wages, and at least a quarter of my income has consistently been going towards Uber to get around since my car has been unusable since April. I have not been able to put much, if anything, in savings. Our lease ends next month, and I have enough money to pay for this month's rent where I'm currently living, but I don't have enough to do that And cover all of the financial obligations that moving requires. My roommate is unable to assist me because he has his own finances to worry about, and he's only been at his current job for about a month. Renewing my lease is not an option; the building I live in is EXTREMELY unsafe. The property manager has been MIA for going on two months now so it's highly unlikely I'll be getting my security deposit back.

I need roughly $1,400 to make this happen.

~$400 for costs related to my car

$170 for pet deposit

$30 to update my cats vaccinations + rabies shot

$750 deposit on new apartment

If you are able to help, I will do my best to pay you back when my finances are better.

So part of what's been so stressful lately is that my mom has been having health issues, which is a major trigger for me. She had surgery the other day and the site got infected and so she has to be in the hospital longer and even when she gets out she can't go home, she has to stay at her boyfriend's apartment in the city near the hospital bc a nurse has to come to her to do more antibiotics etc etc etc. My dad spent a few days at my mom's last week while she was having surgery and recovering, but now that she's not going to be back tomorrow as planned my dad unexpectedly has to spend most of the coming week at my mom's house in order to take care of my brother and the alpacas and stuff. So. Yeah. Just. Unexpected changes in plans suck, not having my dad around when I'm struggling with psychosis sucks, and my mom having surgeries and serious infections is a major trigger of mine. This whole thing is just. Very unpleasant. At least this time around we know what to look for if my mom's antibiotics start to have dangerous side effects. And I finally have therapy for the first time in two and a half weeks on Tuesday.

Here's a life update:

My dumbass toddler-brained cat decided swallowing floss would be a fun activity, I discovered last night. So I've been fucking stressed about it, right? Because I love my cat and I don't want anything to happen to him

The good news, my sister checked his stool and found the floss. So hopefully that's all of it. He's not acting sick and is still his normal hyper punk self, so I'm trying to remain optimistic that he's fine and that was all of it. It was a pretty long piece and I'm just floored that he swallowed all of that

well, you see, the thing is: (instead of finishing my sentence i curl up comfortably in bed and go to sleep

My baby daughter got her adorable puffin-print dress absolutely CAKED in mud crawling around the yard and my first thought was "oh no her beautiful dress"

And my second thought was "oh huh it really WOULD be easy to unconsciously steer her away from playing in the dirt. Unlike my son, whose outfits are usually some kind of solid dark easily washed pants plus a shirt that doesn't trail in the dirt like a dress does."

Anyway something something gender roles start getting shoved on kids from literal birth, but with a little time to think about things, YOU TOO can let your children of any gender absolutely destroy their clothes in the dirt pit they're digging in your garden
