hello anon! i hear your complaints and i would like to discuss, if ur amenable, as i can only really listen if i can understand

firstly, to address my lack of drawings of black women, i will not argue. its true i could stand to draw more black women. most art i make is fanart and most media i get interested in lacks black women to make fanart of. therein lies my issue. ill be sure to expand my taste in tv shows and look for medias that include more black women and poc in general. /srs

now, on the issue of drawing them more masculine, i will need you to elaborate. is it the pants? the muscles? is it the hairiness on my most recent post?

assuming its the latter, i will have to disagree. insinuating hair on a woman's body is more masculine than none is in of itself a statement that reeks of misogyny, racism and transphobia.

women have body hair. some women have a LOT of body hair. it does not make them any less feminine/any less of a woman.

now, ill admit these are not from the point of view of a black woman so i'd be interested to hear that perspective. however, i've received many comments that were happy about the representation of hairy women in my art and i will always take into consideration the way my art makes people feel. this art has made ppl feel seen.

I am far from saying the 60th anniversaries were perfect BUT I already know I fundamentally can't relate to people who didn't like the bi-generation. You don't like David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa being silly together? You don't like Donna getting her bestie back? You don't like the physical embodiment of radical self love?? There is nothing in the world more confusing than being aromantic while having a deep seated craving for validation and praise. It’s such a weird feeling to want others to find you cool and attractive when you know that if they actually do end up attracted to you, you aren’t going to be able to reciprocate those feelings. Any time someone has confessed to being attracted to me, it’s always such a confidence boost, yet there’s also a sense of guilt that comes with wanting to be validated in that way.

It feels shameful to want validation while knowing that, in exchange for receiving that validation, I have to be prepared to reject the other person’s advances, potentially hurting their feelings in the process. Because the thing is, I’m never actually attracted to the other person. I don’t want to hold their hand, or kiss them, or do any other traditionally romantic acts with them, and I don’t see them in a romantic way. It’s just a desire for approval and validation.

HenRen gets paid dust by this fandom it’s true. If I was being charitable I would say that it’s because their love story kind of already happened but it’s not like Bathena doesn’t get hype and they’ve been married for 6 years now. I think the show also sometimes forgets to let them be married outside of their kids, hence the lesbian bed death we’ve seen since season 6. All in all I think everyone could do better by Hen and Karen.
