Steph: Yeah your amnesia era was kind of a slay

Barbara: My dad’s Batman era was not a slay

Jason: Well maybe slay in a different sense-

Duke: That’s all behind us we’re moving on!

Jason: Bruce sit down and don’t pretend like this isn’t exactly what you did to form your child gang

Bruce: Why does something absurd always happen with you guys when I’m gone

Tim: Maybe because nobody in this house knows how to cope with loss or something I don’t know

Dick: Also it gets so much worse Bruce

Dick: I mean that wasn’t exactly your fault

Jason: Cop Batman didn’t seem to agree

oh my god last night i fell asleep thinking about if you were to go to roman, obviously upset, he’d look at you with a sarcastic, yet barely sympathetic stare. furrowed brows and a slight bite at his cheek. he’d speak so obviously jokingly, so that neither of you could sense the actual worry littered in his voice. “oh, baby, what’s wrong?” he said the pet name in the most comical manner, so you couldn’t catch the care that he so desperately tried to push back as if it were bile in his throat. he made sure to draw out every word, impishly, catching the slight cringe in your face at his tone. did he let you know he cared? no, not really. did he let you rest your pretty little head on his shoulders and chest as long as you needed? absolutely.

Alex never thought that he'd be doing this, even at 2AM, this is the most random thing he's ever done. If he thinks about it right now, he never thought that he'll be living together with his high school roommate turned lover. Sure, he never expected Nigel to come to his life like a wrecking ball, but did he even have a life before him? Sure, he had decent friends, he was rich, he ate three meals a day; but there was something missing. He couldn't quite put his finger on it. Everything that had happened — Susan Mueller, the bible, the night at the Colbie's, and the night in the rain. Everything seemed catastrophic, yet Alex felt like it was right, everything felt like it was falling into place. And what made it better is that when he kissed Nigel in the rain, touched his skin, the acres of porcelain. It felt just. So, as he sits alone in their shared bedroom, his deceased Mother's ring at hand, he can't help but feel nervous, like a ticking time bomb, about to explode into smoking pieces of him. He gazes at the time, fiddling with the ring with such contemplation only for his train of thought to be wrecked by the ruffling of sheets.

Nigel looks snug in Alex's shirt that is a size bigger on him, the led light of their bedroom makes his skin glow bright, and the blue irises of his eyes are as enigmatic as the night in the rain. Alex gulps as he feels sweat beginning to prickle his nape. He stares at Nigel tuck himself into bed only for Alex to call him, soft.

Nigel looks behind him, eyebrow cocked in a curious expression. He can sense Alex's troubled heart, because a part of Nigel is a part of Alex. They're two conjoined souls that will never part. Nigel is the first to ask what's wrong only for Alex to thrust the ring into Nigel's face with such determination etched into his face.

His eyes widened in surprise, so much so that he sits up in bed, mouth agape as he looks down at what looks to be a golden band and a Blue Sapphire ring attached to it as its center piece.

"What's this, Alex?" Nigel asks as his gaze travels from the ring to Alex's still determined face.

Alex's breathing comes in rhythmically as he stares deep into Nigel's eyes. He wants to stares at them forever. Hold him close and pepper him with kisses.

Alex sighs and brings his hand down to grasp Nigel's soft hands, so tender and void of labor. It reminds him of a new born baby's skin, supple and unblemished. Alex caresses tenderly as he stares down at Nigel's hand, specifically his ring finger, imagining him wearing the ring.

"I want you to have and to hold, forever, Nigel." It's not a response, rather it's a statement from Alex. An omen to forever. And from Nigel's widened eyes and rapidly beating heart — that is unusual for him — he can't help but chuckle at Alex's expression.

"H-hey! What's so funny?" Alex asks abruptly as he lets go of Nigel hand, hiding it in his lap. Alex's troubled face suddenly turns into a pout as Nigel's laughter simmers down.

Silence permeated the room, the ticking of a distant clock echoes.

"I do, too, Alex. Forever." Nigel calmly says before he grabs Alex's hand and wears the band, it glides in smoothly, just the right size. And he can't help but chuckle some more before Nigel disappears underneath the covers leaving Alex dumbfounded.

They got married the next week, it was a simple formality for the both of them to conceal their love, forever.

HERE IS THE RING! AND YES! Before Alex's mother died (as a headcanon) she left something, a part of her, that will forever remind Alex that he will always be loved.

In the misfit AU how does the price for Shinigami’s contract work did Yuma lose his memory or did his parents give something up since they were the one who requested help from the death god

I am honestly debating on that since I plan to expand the lore of the Book of Death is expanded more. My idea so far is that Yuma gives up his memories of his childhood because he wanted to be rid of the emotional pain (since he didn’t really have emotional support to help him). Unlike in the game, Shinigami doesn’t have to hide the memories since Yuma doesn’t want to forget them forever. He just wants to be rid of the emotional connections so he can stop suffering. Impulsive, I know, but he’s like an emotional kid who lost his mom and forced from his home and into a big city where he gets experimented on and is impossible to find friendly faces (except Makoto later on).

So basically, he has the knowledge of his mom and his hometown, but the memories and emotional connections are gone (or rather not as strong emotionally).

The reason why I would go that direction is because there is no overarching goal like exposing Kanai Ward’s Ultimate Secret like in the game. Yuma’s only goal is to keep the Peacekeepers’ hands away from the Book of Death, and protect Shinigami to an extension. There’s no overarching goal exactly this time for Yuma.
