we've gone on to largely assume that the powers in Link Click are transferrable when someone dies in your arms (as evidenced by Qiao Ling seemingly getting Xixi's power in the finale and Lu Guang being able to dive to save Cheng Xiaoshi sometime in the past).

but what if that's not?? how powers are transferred??

what if it's simpler than that, and the person with the power just has to touch you and WILL it to you?

what if that night while Cheng Xiaoshi was dying in Lu Guang's arms he very intentionally gave Lu Guang his diving power, hoping that he would go back in time and save him? and THAT'S why Lu Guang is so dedicated to saving Cheng Xiaoshi, because Cheng Xiaoshi literally tasked Lu Guang with finding a way to save his life, to change an unchangeable node?

s2ep4 you are EVERYTHING. that conversation with her father — gutting. fleabag is her mother's daughter and that's why her father doesn't like her. fleabag only being really seen & heard by boo at the funeral. "I'll take it. No I'm serious it sounds lovely. It's got to go somewhere." and then the same thing happens over again. and again. And it will probably happen again after fleabag exits the narrative, if she finds someone else who gets her.

OH just remembered the point of this reblog — this concept of being seen/understood is super interesting from a religious perspective. since god is all-seeing etc. but he is also as detached as fleabag's mother, boo, the priest, and the audience (which i mean thats debatable based on your religious beliefs/connection with god. But for fleabag, god is clearly in the same vein). So religion wouldn't necessarily solve fleabag's problems in the same way that it has helped the priest because it's chasing the same out-of-reach connection. it's theoretical, spiritual, abstract. not physical love (and by that I don't just mean sex, but love grounded in shared physical space. They don't breathe the same air. It's different when you can see and be around someone you love). Anyways

in fleabag the audience being a replacement for boo... & its a one sided relationship just like fleabag & boo's friendship after boo dies........ the priest being the only one who notices these looks i.e. only other person besides boo & the audience who truly sees fleabag, but they can't choose each other because that would ruin all the emotional & spiritual progress they have worked for. By saying goodbye to the priest, the audience, and by extension Boo, Fleabag is giving up any chance she has at being understood by someone who is truly cut from the same cloth. yet this is her only path towards peace. im gonna be sick

Dawn of Yangchen but Yangchen and Kavik get together really early on in the book, but when she meets his parents they don’t treat her with the reverence they would the avatar, because Kavik’s parents simply do not believe their son could pull the avatar of all people, so despite his attempts to get her to prove she’s the avatar she’s so enamored with being treated a little bit normally she forgets all about being the avatar.

Then Kavik’s mom screams in the kitchen because Yangchen used firebending to light the stove

Feeling really emotional about the fact that in S1 Ed was saying how fucking boring it was that there's always a fucking plan, and they execute the fucking plan, and then another plan, and they execute that one, and so on and so on and it's all so fucking BORING!!!

And then in 2x08 there he was, with Stede!! With his boyfriend!! And they're going to execute Stede's plan!! And Ed is SMILING!!!! Because it's FUN again and it feels like an ADVENTURE and he gets to do WHAT HE LOVES right beside someone HE LOVES and who LOVES HIM IN RETURN!!!!!!

It's just so GLORIOUS and if anyone needs some timber let me know because I have eaten all the drywall in my home and all that remains is absolute wreckage.
