if I may add. We already kinda get a look at such parenting through Connie. Only imagine it way worse than Connie's Parents. And I doubt Connie's parents would have even listened or bothered to listen if it wasn't for the literal Giant woman and the Limb monster running after them.

Good point! While we don’t know the extent of Greg’s parents nuttiness, it must have been… somethin else, if he chose to run away because of it. Then again, if Connie’s parents didn’t end up listening, she very well could have done the same.

But we also only really get a look at what Connie’s parents are like, not much of the effect it had on her herself.

Spinel sat up on the cliff, looking down at Steven as he trained on the beach. The sunlight made her normally diluted gem light up just enough to catch the attention of a dormant Holo Pearl.

“ Uh... why is that thing staring at me like that? “

The sun was shining. The air was blowing creating a gentle breeze. Steven Squared was stretching before he got ready for a battle against several holo-Pearls. He first used his shield to deflect one of the holo-Pearl’s energy projectiles. Then he swiped at another with his sword only to be blocked by her own sword.

Steven Squared continued putting up a good fight using a combination of his sword and shield before being disarmed of both, his shield dissipating while his sword stuck into the ground of the field they were in. He clenched his fists and made spiked bubble shields around them to make them more like spiked bubble boxing gloves. He continued punching and kicking eventually defeating all of the holo-pearls. Steven Squared let out a soft sigh, wiped the sweat off his forehead flinging it off on to the ground, making small flowers with gems were the pollen would come from.

Steven Squared took a water bottle out of the backpack Human Steven had brought before they fused and drank to cool off.

so imo i don’t count it any more canon than when jesse zuke said peridot had a crush on amethyst and was going to date lapis, when they said that a few years back.
