i feel the need to drop comfort ideas at your door again

-post-AGIT. Vlad has the future Danny as his kid and reconciles with Danielle, and is no longer the central antagonist in Danny's life. Moreso, with Phantom Planet undone, Vlad is still the mayor and Danny's still massively unassuming

-Danny checks in on Dani, of course. Regularly. But. He keeps staying a little longer each time. Gets caught up in the domestic vibes

-at SOME point, somewhere between thinking he doesn't mind the idea of Vlad manhandling him so much anymore and "wait am i thinking of marriage right now" he realizes he accidentally started co-parenting his darkest timeline self and his clone with his older celebrity godfather who's a political leader

-annnnnd he's into it. besides the fact he is increasingly attracted, he. kinda likes having a weird all-halfa household to protect and retreat to

-doesn't have to watch his power use. doesn't have to dodge anti-ghost defenses. won't get hit by a boomerang when he's trying to focus on something. doesn't have to sneak to the portal to get anything done

-Vlad's not a fantastic dad (he's new to this), but he's a lot more attentive than Danny's seen out of his parents, and Danny starts matching the energy. together they end up making a good team

-anti-ghost nonsense leading to ridiculous situations with helping ghosts and this weird little family they're building keep off the radar and keeping all their secrets

-Danny and Vlad at some point just flat out tipping over into Pompous Pep without actively realizing it or pursuing it, just somewhere a switch flicks in their head like "yes this is my partner I am raising children with why wouldn't we be doing this" and it's 100% seamless and holy SHIT does it look bad without the half-ghost family context

-lots of opportunity for 'papa wolf' trope scenes as well as Battle Couple moments, besides the domestic setup

-annnnd that's the setup for the secret identity based domcom I've had building in my head all day as a way to block out stressful nonsense

-i blame the fact Martin Mull played an antagonist on Sabrina the Teenage Witch for this

-but also... i crave the fluff, man. i crave it so bad

3 ships: as usual, choosing is so hard (っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ Ok, let’s go with things I am actively thinking about lately. Tamaki and Haruhi from Ouran high school host club. I love a silly man/straight man duo and boy do they deliver! They just work so well together. Also Haruhi is such a great character and I love her more each time I re-read the manga. Manaow and Del from Until We Meet Again. I rewatched the series last week and as much as I think Pruek is adorable, this is such a wasted opportunity (ಥ﹏ಥ) they adore each other! They hold hands and are always together, Manaow thinks Del is the cutest and Del finds Manaow beautiful!!! They should have been girlfriends and I’ll die on that hill. And to my surprise, Hai Yi and Dai Johnny. I was nothing but neutral about them when I started the series (my deepest feelings about them were along the lines of “Johnny is sorta cute” and “uh, Hai Yi is shaped like a Jojo character”) but after the last two episodes? The way they take care of each other when they are afraid is simply adorable, they are soft and silly and a little stupid, no I really like them a LOT (plus they’ve had a lot of hand action this week which sweetens the deal). 

Last song: okay last finished song on today's running playlist was "Ep. 6: Crush" by Nuit Incolore (I am still an emo 13 years old at heart okay). Otherwise, my latest obsession/on repeat is Come Closer by Ford Arun, and I have been listening a lot to the album "The Sun and The Moon" by The Bravery.

Last movie: “You’ve got mail”. I was talking to my mom about one of my current drama and how I liked the idea of a romance via internet (yes it was between us), and she’d been trying to get me to watch a Meg Ryan movie for ages so she showed me this one lol it’s pretty cute, and Meg Ryan really is adorable goodness me. 

Currently watching: quite a few things as usual… I am actively following My School President, The New Employee, Between Us, History 5: Love in the future, and Gannibal. And I am behind but also watching Never Let me Go, GAP, the new Quantum Leap, as well as rewatching some House M.D. 

Currently consuming: a bar of Cadbury chocolate my colleague gave me! And in terms of other media, I have started reading "Regimes of Desire: young gay men, media, and masculinity in Tokyo" by Thomas Baudinette, and I just started (re)reading the Lord of the Rings and Ouran High School Host Club. I am also relistening to the excellent Find Us Alive podcast before I catch up with the newest episodes. 

Currently craving: some pizza, a 10 hours night of sleep, some new pens (I always do), a hug. And I am eagerly waiting for the paperback of “Queer Transfigurations: Boys Love Media in Asia” (next month), and the last book of the Wayward Children series (hopefully next time I manage to go to the book shop).

‹ DEC 8 › Today marks a full month of working on this fic! The last thing I wrote today felt like a long tangent (which I honestly have no idea whether it fits the genre or not.) But at the same time I feel like it’s relevant to the plot and character dynamics… Since I have yet to finish and proofread Draft 4 as a whole, I won’t give up hope yet that it’s salvageable. ( ◡̀_◡́)ᕤ

‹ DEC 19 › (≈ 13k) Draft 4 complete!! I'm nervous. I genuinely don't know whether it's worth posting or not. I think I might gauge that based on the reaction of my proofreaders... Who are very much biased towards me. ʕ◉ᴥ◉ʔ

For now, I'll proofread it one last time, making some final minor edits!

‹ DEC 22 › Having someone else proofread it gave me a lot of confidence! And I didn't think of it as a mystery until two people pointed it out, so it was really helpful seeing it through a new light.

I don't know how many times I've read and reread this story, at this point lol. I think right now it's as good as I'm able to get it. I got so attached to it, and to who the characters turned out to be. I can even still imagine more scenarios of what happens after the ending.

I'm so excited for people to read it! I wonder if anyone will; The thought makes me nervous... ( 〃▽〃)
