FORGOTTEN LAND'S SECOND ANNIVERSARY :3

I AM SOOOO BACK

I started this drawing yesterday around afternoon and finished it just a few minutes earlier.

I went with a messier type of drawing instead of more clean like the elfilin one from yesterday, i find it fun doing it like this, mostly cause i dont have to worry about making it perfectly so i dont get as frustrated as normal. Id place this one as my second best digital drawing. im pretty sure i havent posted what i consider my best digital drawing here, tho i do have it in instagram, i might post it here one day, tho these two are way too tied up, i love how this came out, its not exactly like how i imagined it but its really close to it, and also itd say that since i dont tend to play around lighting that much, this was such a joy to draw and i cant help but stare at it a lot, at least until i start hating it because i made quite a lot of errors. i also changed my elfilis gijinka just a tad bit from last time, but its not that big of a difference, mostly.

ofc i had to draw elfilis for forgotten land's anniversary, i tend to deny it in my head but yeah they're my fave of the kirby characters even tho i hate them a bit. I wanted to draw some more doodles, like, elfilis eating cake, kirby car, a bunch of other stuff (not elfilin cuz i already drew him yesterday) but when i tried i couldnt draw anything more, guess this drawing burned me out a lot, huh?

you can definitly tell i spent all the efforts on him cuz if you look a bit closer to the bottom part you'll see its almost barely detailed, but i mean, they're the focus so make sense i guess for me not add that much detail there. um also, maybe because i dunno i had OVER 130 LAYERS jeez no wonder firealpaca was slowing down so much, i need to manage my layers better next time, tho i did do something i keep forgetting, wich is naming them (most of them at least) that was a real life saver

Also, antares (fecto elfilis' spear/cadaceus), as always, was a pain to draw, but this time its probably been draw the most accurate out of every other drawing ive made with it in it, i didnt notice it was like, a little curved when it reached the blade

fun fact! actually, this is technically a redraw, somewhere around between february and march i started a fecto elfilis drawing for the first anniversary, but i couldnt finish it in time, and i never finished it

thats...quite the improvement! (i remember being so proud of it)

also his wings are like that cuz i did not want to draw the pattern, its way too hard, i literally copy pasted it, wait, i was talking about the 2024 version but i looked at the 2023 one and i just noticed it also has the pattern copy pasted, i guess some stuff never changes since i still abuse the ctrl+c ctrl+v to this day

Also i ended up making a huge error there, i was planing to add the phantom spears from orbital pulsar (the attack he does first when you battle them at lab discovera) but theres an innacuracy, when they do the attack, they always close their eyes, i had actually sketched him (well i mean both these drawings are basically the first sketch (2023) or second sketch(2024) with some color, shadows and lighting. i didnt do lineart in the 2024 one cuz i wanted to be a bit like the og i made (too bad i sketched that one with black since the og was sketched with white due to me drawing the bg first)) with his eyes closed but them decided to make them open for a reason i cant remember, maybe i thought itd look nicer? idk

ive had the idea of redrawing this for quite some month now so it was kinda already planned

background cuz i think it came out really pretty

doesnt have the little stars since without elfilis and the structures it looks fucked up. the actual sky in game is more blue, but the clouds have some orange, in the 2023 ver. i made the sky orange, and in the 2024 ver i wanted it more accurate, but i didnt wanna loose the orange sky, so i did a gradient. pretty...

also here's a screenshot i took when i was like halfway trough it, its barely noticeable but i changed his mouth in the final drawing

I really love katfl, like a buncha whole lot, its basically almost my first mainline kirby game. 100% the demo, finished the game in almost one day, i literally play it monthly, like, every month i put the card in my switch, start it up, get morpho sword, and go shred elfilis in lab discovera. i would probably not even be here on tumblr and the kirby fandom if it werent for it. and i love it so much i genuinly cannot express how much i like it and treasure it with words or anything

LOL I’m glad to hear that!!

It took three evenings + some finishing touches on the 4rd day… So I think roughly 15 hours? Which is more than usual, but there’s been some shortcuts: since I painted the background, I didn’t have to do a lot of lineart (the most time-consuming and difficult part was Lilia’s uniform)… but then I went and spent all this time on the embroidery and other details lol

I really love drawing something bigger from time to time; it requires a lot of thinking juices and time, but it’s so worth it at the end.

Both Fellow and Ace's bro work at theme parks, they have so much in common already! Alright if I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO, let’s go with Ace; he is clingy, hot-headed, annoying and horny enough for that LOL Just like you said, it’s the combined douchebag energy! I really like the idea of- you know what, I’ll talk about these two tomorrow when I post the hc post >:3 I have much to say. But also, totally agree with the brother-tax. You go, Trappola-aniki, steal Fellow from him. I feel like they would actually end up having a lot in common and maybe even genuinely enjoy each other company, oh no… (also Damn there are a lot of gingers in this whole situation…)

Kalim/Fellow is super fun though, they deserve their own sitcom. It’s super easy to imagine everything you’ve mentioned and described; poor Fellow, he doesn’t even know that he is about to experience Jamil’s overprotective nature!...

What I found interesting about their interactions is that even though it feels like Fellow would easily sell his body and soul to Kalim and shower in his money, whenever Kalim actually tells Fellow that he would pay him, Fellow looks very offended. I guess it’s because Kalim being so carefree with his money and unintentionally flexing is very irritating and even insulting. Kalim gets so confused by this reaction, he just wanted to help...

So I can picture Fellow getting nervous surrounded by Kalim’s riches, keeping Gidel close to himself in case he pickpockets something (he’ll still manage steal so much shit). With this feeling in the back of Fellow’s mind that even though Kalim is kind and sweet, he could easily try to buy him just like Fellow’s bosses always do, and he’d be waiting for this moment very tensely… and maybe even anticipating for it at some point. Maybe after some time, he’d start hoping for it. Man would go full 180 in his mind while Kalim is just out there trying to be the best host possible lol

(As for Jamil… Who knows, maybe Kalim would even be cursed enough to ask Jamil about whether he’s jealous or not… or even worse, he won’t even ask, just tell Jamil not to worry about it. This is so much worse, Jamil would overblot again due to the stupidity of the situation…)

About the Mobs: YES, we posted a bunch of Mobs/Fellow stuff in my locked (as in privated) acc for some unedited smut, and I’ll write something up very soon too :3

Haven't started the Kuruna blog yet because I have been focus on other stuff really ;;w;;

One of the two comms are in the lineart phase ( Yesterday I did receive the thumbs up on the sketch, after making a few minor changes nwn ). Since they are more detailed, I would rather finish those before I start the Kuruna blog ( Because once those are done, that means I'll have more time to create art of her. These two comms are more ok the complex side, imo. Which usually takes more time from me ;;w;; ).

The less art I have on queue ( 2 comms and 2 art trade. I can take my time on the art trade at least qwq/. Comms are paid, so they usually have my highest priority ), the more time I have to do my own fun art n3n.

Also because I am both excited and wasn't able to start the blog on last week, even tho I said I wanna try, I will show at least the beginning panel ( 1/4 ) n3n. Keep in mind that sometimes there will be color and other times the color design will default to this! Kuruna blog is moreso giving me more artistic freedom to do whatever style I wish :D! Since for that one, being half-story serious and half-silly, I feel that I will have more freedom with this one!

Plus, while the blog is more Kuruna focus, I will introduce other characters as well ouo. One of them is the Absol I have shown ouo. There are two others who already have completed designs as well. One is a very, VERY old character. Like her design is 2010 ( Or was it 2009 🤔 ? ) years old. Only a few people still remember her ewe. The other is just a shit chaos incarnate xd

Anyways here is the art mention xd. Will tag it as "keep reading" for those who would rather be surprised!

Also I do debate doing a pin post on her blog that links to everything or not 🤔. I have seen a few blogs doing this and I do wonder if it would be smart for me to do that to. I assume it is for mobile users? I don't often use the app and, when I am on Tumblr mobile, I do computer view because it is more pleasant to see Tumblr that way pwp. So I am not 100% sure.

Am still really hype to bring Kuruna to the community. Even equally hype for when a 2009/2010 OC is being brought to the community ( I have never brought her into the Pokeask community. She mostly existed on Flipnotes with old cringe rps and such xD )

I have in the past drawn them in AUs inspired by characters from other fandoms, if that’s what you’re asking! At the top of my head I can remember drawing them as Black⭐Star and Tsubaki from Soul Eater, Doumeki and Watanuki from xxxHolic and Jacuzzi and Nice from Baccano!, but I’m sure those are not the only ones... I’m never against that sort of AUs, if you have anything you’d like to see ask and I’ll see if I know the fandom you’re thinking about! :D

Doing a lot of shipping this month

And it will probably be for the last time in a while. I said this last month but I’ve been prepping my store to be taken over by White Squirrel. I’ll be at Rose City Comic Con September 13th – 15th and immediately after I’m renting a Uhaul and driving all my stock up to White Squirrel headquarters.

August was kinda quiet because it has been prep for this big move and mostly writing. I finished writing a graphic novel I’m doing with my buddy Jose Pimienta. It’s called Stars Hide Your Fire. It’s about two friends who each find themselves bonding with immortals on opposite sides of a conflict. The picture above is from it. I’m writing it, Jose is doing the lineart, and I’m coloring it. I just finished writing it yesterday. Jose has already drawn a large chunk of it, so I can get to coloring. I’ll start posting pages on my Patreon either this month or next, but I want to sit down and figure out some color choices before I start posting anything publicly.

One of the downsides to focusing on writing for a month is that it’s harder to show that off in a newsletter or on patreon.

Other than writing I’ve been reading a lot of manga. I got myself the Shonen Jump app so I’ve got caught up on a few series I’ve heard good things about but hadn’t checked out. I particularly liked Promised Neverland which is about some kids find out the orphanage they live in secretly a farm. They are being raised as food for demons. The kids are trying to escape. So it’s got a lot of suspense and is very focused on minds games and strategy.

I wanted to take the time to read some manga because I think it’s important to keep up with comic when working on comics. I think finding out new stuff that is out there is inspiring. Reading manga in particular is helpful because with Stars Hide Your Fire done, all my writing attention is going to writing You Are the Chosen One, which is going to be very long. Since manga is usually longer and more decompressed, it’s helpful to see how different ones are paced. I’m about 150 pages into writing You Are the Chosen One and the beginning is a little slow because there is so much to establish.

I’ll keep working on it most of September. So yeah, September is shipping and more writing. I am feeling a little weird about not having art to share though. So I’m gonna try to make time so do some more concept art for You are the Chosen One. I basically keep a list that is “Stuff that needs to be designed before beginning” Maybe I’ll get to that. I have a few possible freelance jobs that will end up taking priority if I get them.

Last month, I also started saying what I’m planning to use my Patreon money on. Patreon money is still gonna go to a new printer since one month isn’t enough to cover it. Printers that can handle bristol are hard to come by. I’m looking at this one to replace my 9 yeah old Espon Photo 1400.

It’s a light month, so just Dirty Old Ladies podcast has new stuff for you all. We did an episode about what tools we use and an episode on advertising. I was super depressed and burnt out during recording the advertising episode so sorry for being a downer in it. It was recorded when Twitter/Social media was taking the most out of me.
