Greetings, plebeians
This is your resident unknown and attention-depraved author/writer, BEE/bee/beE/🐝
Here’s some stuff about moi:
I like… tea. YES I LIKE TEA 🍵🍵🍵 it’s quite honestly the greatest invention of all time
I also like reading. That’s kinda like a hobby that all writers are mandated to say. Which is reasonable.
I’m a fan of miniatures and piano. Yeah, I did try them out. Yeah, I did fail spectacularly, thank you! ☺️
I also like painting but the therapy one and not just a blank canvas that sucks the soul out of artists lol
What do I write?
I write… stuff. BEAUTIFUL, HEARTBREAKING STUFF, mind you. But it’s still stuff, so lemme elaborate.
Speculative fiction - if you idk this, it’s really just a mix of fantasy and sci-fi; the ‘what if’ genre
Urban fantasy - don’t get me wrong, I love high fantasy, but urban is waaay easier to worldbuild
Steampunk & other punks - PUUUUNK 🤘🤘🤘
Horror and thriller - mostly psychological and body horror, don’t worry! I don’t do jump scares or anything ☺️
Slice of life - mwah my heart and soul mwah
Others - yes, I am capable of doing other genres 😤 I’m a multi-faceted bee, you know?
DISCLAIMER: what I write might only reflect upon my psyche and state of mind but that is not a guarantee
My WiPs
I am proud to say that… I DO NOT HAVE ANY!!
*gasp* what ever do you mean bee? Are you quitting writing? *sobs*
No, my darlings.
i just have no big projects to boast about right now. I feel like big projects aint my thing at the moment and pushing myself only led me to disappear from the internet for a month 😞
What i do have are short works i randomly choose to write and post here on tumblr !!
✨ FICLET MASTERLIST IS HERE ✨
🐝 POETRY MASTERLIST IS HERE TOO 🐝
If you’re interested, please comment on this post or reblog or DM me if you want to be put in the taglist!!
Does that mean you accept… requests?
…………yes. Yes i do. Go and flood my askbox you plebs !
Am I anywhere else?
Please. It’s 2023. Of course I’m… everywhere *cue evil laugh*
Bluesky - if you haven’t heard it yet, tis the new Twitter… cuz it’s literally made by the old creators of that glorious blue bird *cue a moment of silence*
Tiktok or Twitter - do not look for me here
Tumblr - EYYYYYYYYYYY i post ALL my stuff here !! They’re really just bait to hook some writer friends 🥹
Ko-Fi - ehem ehem i know first drafts are considered shite but BUT i have decided to make them available for perusal yes you can burn your eyes to anyone who buys me a cup of tea ~
Patreon - i finally have one!! I’m still setting it up tho and prepping all the content 💛💛💛
I’ll be doing a patreon soon enough actually so look out for that
How I organise myself
Well i wish this is applicable to actual life because i’d very much like to know how 🫡
Jk, here be the tags:
#bee writes some stuff - my micros, my flash fics, my text posts
#bee plays some games - tag games !! which i have never played before till now !!
#bee does some prompts - this will definitely see the light of day… someday
#bee stalking some writers - what it says on the tin
#bee answers some asks - omg i only added this because someone actually sent me one *faints*
#bee saves some stuff - there are way too many resource posts that i’ve scrolled past cuz idk how to tag

hi! you write ur stuff on ao3 (or at least yk.. put it there) and my question is: how. I've been wanting to write n stuff for a little while but I do Not know how to use ao3. like to the point I don't even know how to use the searches n stuff. I just click links on Tumblr and go "this is great" and hit the little button at the bottom of the page. I know absolutely Nothing about this site and I Don't know how to learn
I'm good with navigation, but I am very bad at posting. I literally accidentally made 19 drafts of the last CSD chapter I posted and had to delete them one by one. So! I'll explain navigation, and if you have a specific question on posting, I can help with that. But uh, I'm better with navigation for broad advice:
You can search by "last updated," and sometimes I do do that. But what I tend to do is I go into a fandom's tag, go into filters, and sort by "Bookmarks"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From here, you're already mostly safe to read the most beloved works if you don't have something specific you want in mind. But let's say... you suddenly really want fics with modern themes, but you don't know the tags for that. Scroll to "Other tags to include," type in "modern," and watch for what tags appear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay! Cool! I want Alternate Universe - Modern with Magic, so I'll press that. BUT WAIT. I want fics that don't take place in a university! What do I do?
Scroll down to "Other tags to exclude" and follow that same logic
Tumblr media
Oh, huh... I'm not interested in smut or graphic gore... what now? Perhaps I should open "Ratings" under "Exclude" and hit "Explicit"
Tumblr media
Extra information. Relationships tags with PersonA/PersonB with a / are romantic. PersonA & PersonB with an & are platonic
So you're good to go with this alone. Buuuuut, let's say you want some more details.
I'm tired tonight, so I'd like to read a completed work that's under 20,000 words. Here's how I'd do that, opening Word Count and Completion Status under More Options
Tumblr media
AND THEN
There's "More Options." Even I don't have this fully down, but this can be useful if you ever need it.
So let's say, you want fluff and whump fics to come up in your search. Either or. Fics that are just fluff, alongside fics that are just whumps, alongside fics that are fluff and whumps. You would type in "fluff OR whump". Caps lock OR
Tumblr media
But wait! This whole time, you've actually been looking for a fic you forgot the name of! But you recall that in its description, it had the words "the trees stood tall." How would you search for that? Well, put that into quotation marks. It will search for those words in that exact order.
Tumblr media
You can combine this with OR. Like...
"the trees stood tall" OR "the meadows were golden"
Also, adding a * onto a word will... ah, I don't know how to describe this. Let's say you put in app*. Your search will bring up fics containing the words app, apples, applies, applicable, appliance, etc. Words that start with app
And maybe
Just maybe
You're asking because of the DCA, and I have a complex DCA + reader/oc search I wrote up already saved that I can link to anyone

My Knowledge Stack
Another post that started life as a reply - and then got longer - and then seemed to have added general applicability. So …
@moomehta writes
Calling all infovores: What is your Web reading stack? I want to improve and optimize what I consume. Here’s my toolset for Discovery, Queuing, and Absorption:
Feedbin RSS + Newsletter reader
Instapaper, plus its Kindle delivery
Kagi search
Raindrop bookmarking
Orion browser
Jatan https://web.jatan.space/2023/02/15/calling-all-infovores.html
This is best answered by revealing one screen on my iPad mini.
Tumblr media
The apps are in no particular order, though roughly from top left to bottom right in terms of regularity of use (Gluon/MicroBlog aside).
I don’t typically have alerts and notifications on to pull me in unwanted directions.
As I read (and listen) to whatever it is, various options;
just move on - a LOT
a quote grabs me - Readwise
the article is a little too long for that moment or needs focus - Reader.
a link that needs looking at - it MIGHT get saved to Reader - OR to Drafts.
Reader because I want to read in more detail
Drafts if I already have an idea of how that link is going to be used
Raindrop is there - but it is on the way out.
For processing I run through new Drafts and push out into various spaces. If you note the time stamps on my posts (because of course - that IS what you do … right?), you will find a few might arrive very quickly as I bulk process my Drafts.
When I have a quite longer moment to really read, I open up Reader and start - maybe highlighting, or sharing, or commenting … tag and archive OR delete completely. (Trying to make sure that my Readwise doesn’t end up like my Instapaper - which you will also see on that screen shot - but actually I open every blue moon or so.)
Hope that helps.

monthly (ish) progress update CT:OS
Hi everyone! I’ve been pretty quiet on tumblr the past few days, but active on the coding/writing side of things :) Just wanted to give a short update on how things are going :)
(As a rough gauge, I edited almost 50k words, and wrote + coded another 25k. P.S. My editing process is super important - ‘cause it’s where I do really major rearrangements/re-writes + add ideas + polish + brainstorm the next few scenes - basically, CT:OS would be so very, very different if I stopped at my vomit draft (yes, this is what I call my first draft). So it’s not just me wasting time, I promise!)
Writing/Coding/Editing
Day 1 of freshman orientation (Sat)
Meet D (and G) in the morning (Edited) - choose your fave beverage
Meet your hallmates/orientation group (Edited, rearranged some scenes) - play a short icebreaker game, choose your major
Amazing race (Edited) - achievement up for grabs
Go ‘waterfalling’ (Edited) - added a short alternative scene
Day 2 of freshman orientation (Sun)
Morning of the activities fair (Started editing) - options to hang out with hallmates at the fair, or alternatively, with Rayyan or Tobin
Laser tag (Written - raw draft) - tested + brainstormed some edits/improvements to the gameplay; achievement up for grabs
First day of classes (Mon)
First class (Written - raw draft) - tested + brainstormed some edits/improvements
Training session- short scene (Written - raw draft)
Rest of the week (Tue-Thur)
Short class scenes (Planned - skeleton)
Friendly doubles match on Thu (Planned - all choices and scenes charted out, to code and write text) - long tennis gameplay scene, plus some Tobin interaction (finally!)
Poll/Beta-testing/Asks
Poll
Conclusion: Y’all are frikkin hilarious. AND so very, very kind. Thank you for the awesome responses, I read every single one in detail (sometimes multiple times), and they all made me grin.
Also, it’s hilarious how many people are into Valentina/woman at the chinese restaurant (she doesn’t even have a name yet! oops.)
Finally, yes, I have created dedicated blogs for CT:OS and Merry Crisis (for the purists in the poll!)
Beta-testing
BIG BIG thank you to everyone who’s left their contact information, and details about your background and interests, or even suggestions for some of the routes! They were an absolute delight to read, and I am so excited for the next chapter of CT:OS. Can’t wait to bring you guys on board!
Unfortunately, because I hope to get out the next chapter of CT:OS, so I can send it over to you guys to test, I’ve been prioritising writing before contacting everyone who’s reached out.
I will be reading everyone’s applications again, organising/sorting them by routes/interest, and reaching out to those I have contact info for. If you indicated interest, but didn’t type in your email address, do note that the poll did not display/collect your email address (as I wanted it to be fully anonymous), so you’ll either need to drop me a DM or ask with your tumblr handle/email. But you can also wait for my official post in the next month or so.
Asks
SORRY for being really bad at answering asks the past week/weeks, I’ve been concentrating on writing, planning, coding and editing.
I’ll be heading off for a long holiday in <1 week, so things have also been super busy for me at my day (real) job + trip planning + trying to write as much as I can at night. So: If I don’t get the update out to beta-testers in a week, before I go hiking (most likely), it looks like an update in End July or Aug seems probable.
Thank you to everyone who’s played CT:OS :) Sending you all much love, and hope you have an awesome summer!!

types of lip glosses they like on you!
— ot5 x gn!reader
warnings: purely fluff + mentions of kissing!
coco's ♡ note: this has been sitting in my drafts for almost 3-4 months now and just last night I decided to take it upon myself to finish it at 2am when I randomly got a splurge of inspo and motivation to write! so I hope you enjoy <3
Tumblr media
◖ yeonjun!
He likes lip glosses tinted with more daring colors. Maybe a red or even a nice purple one. While he'd prefer to not kiss you with it on he also tends to favor ones that have a balance of shine and stickiness. I think he'd also like ones with sparkles, probably even uses them himself when he wants a nice finish with his tint, that's why tinted are a bonus! He thinks of them as a 2-in-1 deal.
◖ soobin!
He hates lip gloss but if you insist then he'll like the ones that have a minty finish. He hates stickiness so definitely buys you oils instead. Prefers without sparkles added in, just a good plain clear and full of shine will do! I would avoid tinted around him though because baby is a little pale so if you kiss him with it on...it might be visible and a scandal could follow! He probably says he doesn't mind but let's be honest he's very into safety and would prefer not putting yours at risk so stick to something thats easily hidden or easy to clean up!
◖ beomgyu!
Honestly, this man would complain SO much about how he absolutely hates your lip glosses because "they're sticky y/n" and "they get all over me when I try to kiss you" but he's the main one buying you them. Like seriously the boy comes back to the dorms with a bag full of new glosses for you to try almost every week. He even offers up the old "guess the flavor" game, thus revealing his ever so obvious true motive. Still, he claims he hates them and that he's only playing to help YOU! Not HIM! YOU!
◖ taehyun!
He literally does not care what you wear because by the end of the night it'll be gone, BUT if he had to choose, he adores the pretty compact ones that give you just the right amount of sparkle and shine. He also likes the ones with a doe foot applicator because according to him those are the quickest ones to apply and this man is always on a schedule, not that he minds letting you take your time though! He does prefer you without gloss though since it's less of a mess!
◖ hueningkai!
He adores all your lipglosses really, from glosses that are extra sticky to the ones that are oily and give the perfect mix to blend a pretty lip! He especially likes the ones that have a flavor to them though, he just likes that after he gives you some nice smooches, he's able to taste the nice fruity or soothing flavors. His favorite would probably be like coconut bliss or something with an odd name but he doesn't mind too much. He is also one of the boys who doesn't complain when you wear them and even offers to get you more!

Thank you @darkangel699 for tagging me! Talking about writing, which is actually my favorite thing to do.
Where do you publish your work?
My fic is on AO3 and FFN. I'm slowly trying to get it all copied over to AO3 because FFN is just a disaster. I have two original short stories on AO3. Someday, I'll have another answer.
What medium/application/etc. do you write in or with?
Mostly scrivener.
Do you collaborate with others?
dulce-de-leche-go and I wrote a dark Voldemort wins AU together, and it was really fun, but every other time I've tried to collaborate with someone it hasn't worked out.
How much editing do you do before you publish?
I used to use betas for fic, and proofread. Now I mostly run anything I write to share through Grammarly and call it a day.
I do multiple drafts of original stuff before sending it off to be rejected lol - massive developmental retreads. polishing of characters arcs. Adding of foreshadowing. So much.
Do you listen to music when you write?
no
How do you decide what to write about?
My brain itches me until I write a thing down.
When do you write?
Usually in the mornings. Right now, I take my kid to weight training, sit on the lawn outside, and write or edit.
How often do you write?
As often as I can. Preferably every day. In my dream world, I'd have hours every day to only work. If I don't write for too long, I get squirrely and weird in a bad way.
Do you take requests? Why/why not?
Yeah, in theory, but I don't have a lot of time for fic right now, and am sort of out of fandom. Someone sort of randomly sent me four prompts via asks, and I'm still a little confused how that came out of nowhere. I don't even know them. Very confusing. Might do one of them anyway if time burbles up.
Is there any genre or type of story you want to write but are hesitant to?
Nah, I have no shame. If I want to write a thing, I'll write it.
Any inspirational quotes, videos, tricks, articles, etc. that help you stay motivated?
Write 100 words, get up and do 10 small tasks. Like... very small. Putting one dish away counts as a task. After two hours, you have 1500 words and a cleaner house.
Go to page 7 of your WIP, skip to the 7th line, and share 7 sentences.
I'm actively unhappy with this project, but...
“I have a box of pamphlets you could take down and put in the historical society’s office,” Dr. Muñoz said. “If you want.”
Addie did.
“And someone donated a book on 19th-century fashion for the book sale. You could bring it upstairs to look at.”
Addie loved clothes. In elementary school, she and Lauren had made elaborate costumes for their dolls, studying first old pictures of dresses and then, when those were too confusing, old patterns.
Tagging: @medievalfantasist, @naarna, @pedlimwen, and also anyone else into it. I can't think of names right now.

#showyourprocess
From planning to posting, share your process for making creative content!
To continue supporting content makers, this tag game is meant to show the entire process of making creative content: this can be for any creation.
RULES — When your work is tagged, show the process of its creation from planning to posting, then tag 5 people with a specific link to one of their creative works you’d like to see the process of. Use the tag #showyourprocess so we can find yours!
Thank you so much for tagging me @lan-xichens, I’ll try my best to explain how I made this set from start to finish hehe ♡ and also a big thank you to @suibianjie @highwarlockkareena @nyx4 @aheartfullofjolllly and you as well Kris for putting this all together! Content creators get a lot less recognition than they deserve for all the time they put into their content, so getting everyone to see the (sometimes excessive) process we all go through to put our content in our blog, I hope it creates a positive change!! 💖
1. Planning
The set in question was actually requested by someone so they could celebrate their friend’s birthday! At first I wasn’t entirely sure if I was going to be able to finish it on time (college is very hectic right now) but I was able to finish it three days before the deadline which was may 1st! ^-^
The first thing I did was decide what characters I wanted to use in the set, I first reached out to the person who requested the set if there were certain characters they wanted me to use but they said they didn’t know enough to really give me any directives outside of the quote. I decided, since the quote is applicable to the entirety of the show, that I would try to put in as many characters as possible.
Thus, of course, came the hunting for scenes. Those of you in the net discord surely know I came into the content help channel a few times to ask for certain scenes here and there, and eventually I had to download an additional 10 episodes to the back then 20 or so episodes I had in my CQL episodes folder.
Tumblr media
As you can see I have 30 random episodes of CQL downloaded (slowly but surely getting to the point where I have all 50 episodes downloaded) and I think I ended up using scenes out of at least 20 of those episodes.
I planned out beforehand what characters I would use per gif. I knew obviously I would start out with Wangxian, them being the main characters of the show, and then would work my way down the list. The second gif consists of Nie Huaisang, Nie Mingjue, Jin Zixuan, Jiang Yanli, Wen Qing, and Wen Ning. They’re all family pairings, two being siblings and one being a married couple. The next gifset consists of the Yi City characters, then the fourth gif consists of the juniors, and the final gif has Jin Guangyao, Mianmian, Jiang Cheng, and Lan Xichen in it.
I have to admit though that when I had made the first four gifs I’d forgotten who I would put in the last gif and the when I thought about it the first time around I could only think of Lan Qiren and the very cursed Yaoyang ship 😭 it was only at dinner time that same day that I remembered I hadn’t put Jiang Cheng in my gifset yet and that’s when I thought of the other characters as well.
I had already made my first two gifs when I went to check Hanyi’s blog for layout inspo and eventually I decided I wanted to try a triangle-ish layout, which I doodled below. I eventually ended up changing the layout of the last gif in the final design. It was also the first time I would work with a triangle-ish layout so I was a bit nervous as I was scared it wasn’t going to work out...
Tumblr media
2. Creating
I use Avisynth 2.5 and Adobe Photoshop 2021 (the paid version, unfortunately, I need it for school except I didn’t need it this year but I wanted it so I paid for it with my own money ouch) to make my gifsets! I always start out with trimming down all the scenes I’m going to use into three to five second videos and putting them through Avisynth. This time around I did it separately for each gif I made, simply because I needed so many scenes. I would include a screenshot of my “gif vids” and “temp” folders but I’ve already deleted all the videos, which is what I usually do immediately after a set is posted.
I’ll try my best explaining this gif by gif since each one had a different layout!
2.1 Wangxian
Tumblr media
I think I had up to five different designs of this gif 😭 it started out with the gif on the left originally being more centered and the quote right smack in the center but somehow it felt a bit too... empty? I changed up the design and pulled the gif over to the right and put the two closeups on the left, the exact opposite of the gif I eventually ended up with. I switched things around one more time and saved the gif as you can see it right now, except I didn’t include the lines yet. It was only as I finished up my fourth gif that I decided this gif needed lines as well so I added them ^-^
2.2 Nie Huaisang, Nie Mingjue, Jin Zixuan, Jiang Yanli, Wen Qing, and Wen Ning
Tumblr media
I got the inspiration for the font layout on this gif from this Wenzhou post! I hadn’t tried it before and when I did for this gif I was very happy with the way it turned out :D I wanted to portray that life is a pile of good and bad things, as the quote says, in CQL by mirroring these happy scenes side by side with the sad scenes
2.3 Yi CIty
Tumblr media
My first time working with the triangle layout!! Putting in the lines and making sure they would line up with the second gif took me the longest of all actually  😭 I think once I got the line on the left in I just copy pasted it and flipped it horizontally so I didn’t have to fiddle around with angling it anymore :’) my original idea was to get a happy Song Lan scene and a sad A-Qing scene, but when I stumbled upon this A-Qing scene in ep38 I just had to put it in there because her smile is so precious 🥺 Xue Yang and Xiao Xingchen in the center are also supposed to be mirrored, with Xue Yang embodying the “bad things” and Xiao Xingchen the “good things” ! I also think the Yi City characters fit this part of the quote very well!!
2.4 The Juniors
Tumblr media
Ah yes, the junior quartet!! :D I had this planned out from the very beginning, that I would include happy versus sad juniors in the “vice versa” part of the quote, and I think it worked out quite well! My first idea was to put the “vice versa” completely in the special font and have it typed out over the gifs like I did with the “vice” but as I typed out the “versa” I realized it had one letter too much to be able to do that 😭😭 it took me a while to come up with how I would position the “but” and “versa” and after some moving around I decided to just place them the way I did in the final gif! For the font, I duplicated the “vice” and added a stroke to the duplicate, then I changed the fill setting to 0% so I could slightly drag the duplicate away from the original layer to create the effect that’s in the gif — also, finding a scene in which Jin Ling smiles is really difficult.... he barely even smiles in the scene I ended up using :(
2.5 Jin Guangyao, Mianmian, Jiang Cheng, and Lan Xichen
Tumblr media
The final gif!! I feel like this might come a little across as “I promise I didn’t forget these characters” because they’re a very odd quadruplet to put together, but they were the most important characters left to put in the set! I was thinking of putting Nie Mingjue in here together with Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen, but I did feel he fit more with his brother up in the second gif. Mei @mylastbraincql cheered me on making this gif for which I was very grateful :D <3 the layout came to be after I googled “how to evenly split a rectangle in four” because I didn’t want a repeat layout in the set  (*/∇\*)
2.6 Coloring
For the coloring I pretty much did all of the tweaking on the first gif and then copy pasted all of it onto the second, third, fourth, and fifth gif. This is usually the way I go about my coloring, I will always edit certain gifs if necessary but I don’t think I had to change the coloring much on any of these gifs? Maybe I added in a curve layer here and there, but nothing major! This is really one of my preferred coloring styles, even though I try to step outside of my comfort zones with other sets ^-^
3. Posting
I will always upload sets into my drafts and edit the caption in there as well, clicking on “preview post” a couple times to check everything looks good on my blog as well, before I post a set. However, this time, since there was a deadline and I finished before the deadline, I put this set in the queue so it would automatically post on the 1st of may! Knowing myself, I would’ve forgotten to do so </3
Whew that was... a lot 😭 did it make any sense? Probably not, but it was fun to ramble ( ´∀`)
I’ll tag
@blinkplnk with this set !
@wuxien with this set !
@wendashanren with this set !
@wanyinxichen with this set !
@yibobibo with this set !
@mylastbraincql with this set !
@sugarbabywenkexing with this set !
@yiling-recesses with this set !
@jiancheng with this set !
Please feel totally free to ignore this if you’ve already been tagged and don’t want to do it again!! <3

hey steph! how long would you say you spent on sorting out fic recs and tagging them and all that stuff? just curious because i really wanna start a fic rec blog too
Hey Nonny!
UGGGHHHH Tumblr deleted my entire response, so I’m going to just jot out what I remember.
Depending upon how long you’re willing to spend, a LONG time. You guys have NO idea how much work it is, and how much off-tumblr time I spend doing it. When I keep saying “it’s a full time job” it really is. The blogging you guys actually see takes about 2 hours, from filing my blog to answering a few asks here and there, but the rest is ALL filing my fics and creating lists.
Now, mine is “perfected to my liking” after two years of trial and error and headaches, but yeah, if you’re serious about becoming strictly a fic rec blog, prepare to put in a lot of time and effort. BUT to be fair, I’m ridiculous in my sorting and organizing... I have a weird OCD thing where I need stuff sorted in a certain way, and it takes longer than it probably should. But it works for me and it has become very streamlined now that almost all of my Ao3 bookmarks are finally sorted. In the beginning, when I decided I would start reccing fics, it was only meant to be a here and there thing, but then people kept coming to me more and more and that’s when I decided I needed to keep an offline list. So here’s some tips from me to you:
Keep offline lists. Tumblr fucks up enough that you WILL lose interest in redoing a big 50-fic list if tumblr decides that nope, today I don’t feel like posting your file because you didn’t refresh your page BEFORE typing it out.
Going along with the above, keep an offline masterlist of your read-and-tagged fics. All the recs I give you guys? They’re all on one of three list masterlists I have offline: GO Recs, FFNet Recs, and Ao3 Recs. This will be SO much easier for searching for topics when making new lists.
Do the lists WAY ahead of time. This has given me back many-a-Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights because I prep my lists ahead of time.
Develop the “public” system of filing for your things, and use that for your Masterlist, so you don’t have to redo it every time (so like don’t have just Ficname by author if that’s not what you want to do for your recs). For example, my system is this, emphasis included: Fic Name by Author (Rating, wordcount, Chapter count || WIP/AU if applicable || PODFIC LINK if applicable || list of personal and/or author tags here, even if they spoil the story; i’ve found some people with triggers appreciate that I tag EVERYTHING I find in the stories) – Author’s description or personal description if there isn’t one. Series link if it’s part of one. This way, all I have to do is copy-paste it into new documents for each list, and then copy-paste the whole list into the Tumblr doc.
Also, re: the above, do the layout in Tumblr if you’re doing a Tumblr rec blog. It keeps the formatting consistent and I don’t have to fix it between Ao3 and FFnet if I just copy-paste everything into a blank Tumblr doc, and then copy paste THAT onto the masterlist. Trust me on this one.
Draft everything. This goes along with all the above. I always “start” a list and put a big header so that I can find it in my drafts (that’s why they have the big bold H1 headers on them) and then hit “draft”. Then keep a list of your drafted fics in your preferred method of organization. I keep everything in Text Edit RTF files. I believe Alexx told me once she did spreadsheets. Either way, develop a system BEFORE jumping into this thing, because you will EASILY get overwhelmed if you aren’t used to high-stress levels.
Tag fics as you read them. Trust me on this one. Because it will save you MONTHS of re-reading every single bookmark so you can properly file fics. I do this on my Notes App with the story title, and then all the tags I know are popular requests or are for lists I know Nonnies have asked for.
Keep CONSISTENT in your tags. Don’t tag one thing O!verse but another Omegaverse. I had to redo a lot of my older tags because CMD+F was pointless on a document I purposely made to streamline the process.
USE Ao3′s TAGGING FEATURE for your bookmarks. Just make sure that if any of your tags are spoilerific, make sure you keep the rec private.
File EVERYTHING as soon as you bookmark it. It will save you a LOT of hours of going through all your recent bookmarks to file them.
That said, HAVE A FILING SYSTEM if you’re keeping everything offline. Keep separate documents for each list... Trust me on this. I used to just have one document each for Fluff fics, for example, and put subheaders in them, and it just got messy and annoying as my fic reccing became more common and plentiful. Instead, have a nice list like this, for instance:
Tumblr media
The grey dots next to some of them are old filing methods that I need to fix and pull out. Also, as you can see, every time I finish a list, I file it into Posted and start a new list appended with a Pt number. It just keeps the system moving smoothly. I also have a system for the coloured dots; Grey is Old and refile, Orange is drafted on Tumblr, and Orange and Green means it’s drafted and ready-to-post.
I also have an offline “drafted posts document”:
Tumblr media
That also has a system as you can see, but it keeps me knowing what I’ve already got drafted on Tumblr if I forget to tag the files with the colour dots.
It looks tedious and complicated, but I promise you, it’s really simple once you’re familiar with my method. Which is why I’m saying, you need to develop this kind of system REALLY early rather than 2 years later like I did. This drafted posts list is only recent as of... February I believe is when I started it.
Hmmm. Ah, yeah, so you can see it’s a lot of work, and this is why I absolutely dislike HateAnons negatively criticizing my lists, because it IS a lot of MY free time, between 8 and 48 hours a week. But if you truly enjoy sorting and organizing like I do, it’s a bit easier to cope with. So, yeah, whenever I tell you guys “I need some time away” this is why, and usually I switch to playing video games or doing art, both of which I miss doing on the weekends. I’m trying to keep the Tumblr stuff to mostly Weeknights these days, so that it’s an extension of my day job. Funny how I have less free time working at home than I did when I wasn’t; because I feel obligated to always be on my computer now, and I hate that. Like right now, I just bought 2 new games to play and I haven’t tried them yet because I’m always working both day-job stuff AND Tumblr stuff on weekends.
So yes, that’s another tip: Don’t let it consume you, and set a schedule. Don’t feel obligated to answer every request. When I am tired and I just genuinely don’t have the energy to dig through 1000+ fics to find 2 or three for an obscure ask, I usually make it an interactive ask – not only does it encourage community involvement and a sense of belonging for everyone, but I also discover new fics to read too! I am IMMENSELY proud and happy that my fic lists have essentially become “fic exchange” grounds. Before it was only on one or two lists, some timid new authors added their fics to my big lists, but now, since people SEE that I add their fics hidden in the notes to the main post, now everyone is happy to share their faves on the main lists AS WELL AS the smaller single asks. I like to think of myself of a “curator of happy things” so that’s what I like to do with these.
That said, you have to also decide if you’re going to be this interactive as well. Because that adds an ADDITIONAL hour or so as you make a separate “MFL” document and file those too. It’s time consuming, but totally worth it because if I’ve read the fic, all I have to do to that post in my MFL list is add my tags and file that block of text :)
I hope I helped you out a bit, Nonny, and I hope you guys enjoyed seeing a bit of my process. If I can get OBS to work on my laptop, maybe I’ll do a short video so you guys can see me doing it live.
Anyway, sorry this got long. :P

HOW RIGBY RUNS A ROLEPLAY : A VERY SPECIFIC GUIDE ( OF SORTS )
BONUS CONTENT: ACCEPTANCE DAY
I think it’s essentially to start with this disclaimer: This is merely how I run a rp and I’m not saying by any means it is how a rp should be run. I have found success through these methods all in combination and I can’t promise that they work all the time.
IMPORTANT ! if you use this guide as a basis for your rp please credit back to me somewhere on your front page, rules, or plot! this is a very specific type of rp (small limited run plot heavy skeleton rp) that i have worked very hard to develop over the past five years. i want you to learn from my successes and failures, and please give credit where it is due!
It is a lot of work! Like A LOT! And if you don’t have time to admin with full commitment this is not the right type of rp to attempt.
With that in mind, let’s go!
FULL GUIDE IN THE SOURCE LINK!
BEFORE THE ACTUAL DAY
First of all, getting apps is fun and it’s easy to get wrapped up in the excitement and want to move things forward as soon as possible. However, I recommend you don’t rush! Do not move up your acceptance date or the date that you close the inbox! This isn’t fair to the people who were planning on finishing up their apps before the original deadline who now have to crunch to meet the new deadline or may not be able to make the new deadline at all because of irl responsibilities. It’s always good to give lots of warning for the inbox closing and stick to it!
I also recommend that you do not lower the threshold of people needed to open. Sometimes it can be disheartening to set an app threshold at ten and then only get six apps, even if the days grind on with no new apps, stick it out and keep promoting! Opening with less than eight characters (and for apples I’d say 15 characters) is going to make activity lackluster. It’s better to delay opening for the sake of having a grand first day than to jump the gun and end up making the rp fizzle before it can even start.
About 52 hours before acceptances are set to take place I like to write out a to-do list and put it in my drafts. It usually involves ‘write acceptance posts, update skeletons, update main, post acceptances, post follows, post opening note’. Just having everything you need to do between then and opening written out in order is so helpful. And being able to check things off the list creates both a feeling of relief and excitement. So make a plan, determine how soon everything needs to be done, and work through it meticulously. In the rush of opening day it can be easy to forget important things like updating the triggers page.
If I have time I try to write everything hours in advance. When it comes to things like opening announcements and plot drops I try to write those at least 24 hours of their release time. And this is why I like, for competitive rps, to close the inbox and then give myself at least two hours to deliberate. But I’d even encourage giving yourself 6 hours between the inbox closing and posting acceptances. I know that’s a while to make people wait but apps can get pretty long and reading them all (and probably rereading a few of them multiple times) can be a lengthy process!
I always try not to read the apps at all before the deliberation time. I find that if I read an app when it comes in that gives the first person an advantage because they have more time for me to adapt to their vision and start to assimilate it and get attached. And that’s not fair to the people who may have stumbled upon the rp later. So I just read the app far enough to get the info for the app count.
Just as a general rule I like to post important dates and times in at least two different timezones. For example ‘Acceptances are at 6am GMT / 1pm EST / 10pm PST ’. That way you can show that you are keeping other timezones in mind. And plus it’s nice to just to the conversion work so your applicants don’t have to.
DELIBERATION TIME
Start by reading the apps which don’t have competition. These ones are easiest because it’s not a matter of determining whether they are the best of the bunch, it’s just deciding whether or not they are are passable. So I always read those first and then write their acceptance post immediately after I make my decision so that at least I’ll have that to post at the set acceptance date. That way, even if I haven’t made a decision on all the apps I’ll have something to post to show that I am reading apps and trying to stick to schedule!
When your are dealing with competitive apps there are a few things I look for in an application:
The most important is that the applicant seems willing to talk to you. This could be asks, ims, or even a little note in the app! Writers who want to make it clear what their intentions/desires/goals are ooc are going to be the easiest to work with! Plus it gives you an idea of how flexible they are! Those who dig their heels in when you offer up alternative suggestions are probably not good to work with. You want to find someone who has direction, intention, and ideas but don’t treat your ideas (or anyone else’s) as lesser than their own.
Call for humor! I’ve found that I have trouble with people who take themselves and their characters too seriously. This means that they often won’t be up for plotting since they don’t want their character to be anything less than graceful. Humor is a really good sign that a writer is fun, creative, and understands their character.
I also get wary of people who overhype the rp. Making edits/adding memes in the talk tag is all very nice, but when it looks like an rpt is promoting my rp just to give themselves an advantage over other applicants I tend to count that against them. I don’t like the idea of an rpt trying to use their signal boosting and popularity in the rpc as leverage over me.
One of the biggest red flags is someone not sticking to the skeleton! If someone blatantly disregards one or more aspects of the skeleton that is an instant strike against them. I don’t like it when people have ocs that they adapt to fit a skeleton because most of the time that means that they don’t really care about the skeleton and your ideas. However, if they contact me about changes to the skeleton in advance and ask if some edits are alright then that’s actually a really good sign! I want people to play a character that they are happy about and I’m willing to change up any skeleton. I just need to know the applicant is willing to work with me instead of against me.
Do not be afraid to deny applications. I used to never do this because I felt it was too mean and judgmental but now I realize I reserve the right as an admin to deny any app or character that I don’t vibe with. Go with your gut, and if the application is making you uncomfortable or nervous in any way, do not accept them. Sometimes it’s better to have one role go unwritten than to have someone who isn’t good for the group. Because both ic and ooc dynamics contribute to the effectiveness and survival of the group, you need to be excited to work with everyone and their characters.
One of the ways that I protect myself from muns who may not be right for the rp is by putting a password in the rules. Often the apps that make me uncomfortable are the ones that disregard or contradict the skeleton or plot. It’s clear that the mun either wasn’t paying attention, reading the pages carefully, or just chose to ignore what they read. It’s often That the apps that I don’t vibe with end up being the ones that don’t read the rules and therefor don’t put the password. So not only is it a good indicator to me that the mun might not be very considerate but it’s also a great default reason to deny an app without having to tell the mun directly that you didn’t like other aspects of their app. Most often I allow them to reapply if they’d like to but their acceptance won’t be immediate, so that there’s a chance someone else might apply for the same role with an application than doesn’t skeeve me out.
ONCE YOU’VE MADE THE DECISION
Write out your acceptance notes. I try to write a full paragraph for everyone when I am accepting for a skeleton rp. If there’s more than 20 characters being accepted then obviously don’t, since that’s way too much to ask of you. But if it’s a small group I always endorse writing a little welcome the chosen mun saying what ti was about their appt hat you gravitated towards. It’s kind of a way to also provide feedback to those who were denied as to what their app might have been missing. Plus, it’s just a good way to get the right vibes going for the ooc portion of the rp. Muns need to feel appreciated! After all they put in the work to get there!
I also like to offer feedback to those who were denied but with a disclaimer that most apps are chosen based on how they mesh with the other apps, since that’s something no one can anticipate. Usually the quality of the writing isn’t as big of a factor as how the character plays into dynamics with the others and whether or not their desired plots and connections with your vision and everyone else’s. Most of the time people won’t take you up on it, but be kind and thoughtful to those who do. However, if they are aggressive towards you in any way because they are upset about being denied block them immediately. Just trust me on that one.
Keep everyone updated as to your progress! Just telling everyone where you are at (in the process of reading apps, writing the acceptance notes, or taking a break) is a good way to put everyone’s minds at ease. It’s especially important to let people know if you are logging off for a while on acceptance day.  That way people aren’t stuck refreshing the page and dreading that you might be ignoring them. On acceptance day I like to make a post every time I come online or go offline. It may seem like oversharing but it’s honestly so helpful to both you and the applicants.
POST-ACCEPTANCES
Once you are about to start posting acceptance notes, turn off anon. I know that anon can be very useful for those shy and curious folks that don’t want to im you directly, but this is another case where you’re just gonna have to trust me. For your mental health turn off anon and keep it off for at least 48 hours. I usually keep it off permanently unless there are more roles that need to be filled in a second round of acceptances. There aren’t really any questions that should need to be asked anonymously once you have a full roster of muns and this is a good way to get people used to asking you questions via discord, im, or dm. To prevent nasties from bullying you and to open the line of communication between you and your members, turn off anon!
And finally, once you have posted acceptances, close your laptop or turn off your monitor and don’t come back to it for at least an hour. I like to give myself two hours to go on a walk, eat some food, and just do non-rp things for a while. Acceptances are stressful and it’s important not to get swept up in it and feel overwhelmed. Taking a step back and remembering you exist outside of rp and outside of being an admin is so important. It’s hard to resist temptation, but if you have anon off really the only thing that’ll come into your inbox are follow messages and those can wait for two hours (or more)! But like I said above, keep everyone updated that you are going to log off for a bit and you’ll be back. Just so no one assumes the worst.
Just remember to be kind to your applicants and to yourself! It’s a stressful time for everyone!

THE HERO YOU NEED
Tumblr media
. Chapter Two .
- Chapter One here -
if there were ever anyone close to being the personification of perfection, it would be Cedric Diggory.
The older boy was a hit with the first-years, and everyone else actually. He was kind and informative, making sure the younger ones were made to feel welcome and comforted. You watched with interest as he animatedly explained how the Hogwarts staircases worked to the crowd of students behind him, fiddling with your wand as always. Following behind slowly, your mind began to wander as you blocked out the noises surrounding you.
Hufflepuff was a choice you’d made after careful deliberation; their house values most matched what you wanted yourself to achieve as a wizard. You were no stranger to the history of Beauvais wands; their propensity for dark magic contributed to much of the doubt surrounding Seraphina Picquery in her earlier days. But she made her place, as will you yours. Your dream was to become a living counter to dark magic; someone who could strengthen all aspects of magic through extensive study of its usages, dark magic included. Your wand was powerful, and held exactly the kind of power you needed if you were to be able to research your goals as extensively as possible. Magical application was one thing, but learning how magic affected the body as thoroughly as possible would prove to be an invaluable asset to the fundamental understanding of magical power to begin with. Hufflepuffs were similar to Pukwudgies in that sense; their members were often curious and good-natured, usually going on to have careers that were based in care.
After the incident as a child, you wanted nothing more but for others to never have to go through such a thing again, even if you had to study the usage of the very dark magic you were so afraid of.
A sudden emptiness beneath you snapped you out of your thoughts, your body suddenly being jerked back and into open arms.
“Are you okay?”
Frantically panted the lips near your ear. Your heart was pounding, and all thoughts in your head flew out the window. What on earth happened? Why...
“You nearly got yourself killed! Were you listening at all?” that same voice scolded. You finally snapped out of your thoughts, turning your head only to meet with someone’s chest. Your nose met with a soft, warm and good heavens, he smells like caramel --  neck before trailing upwards, coming face to face with one very flustered Cedric Diggory. Desperately piecing your scattered brain together, you realized that you two were standing just a foot back from where a staircase had previously been; now just an empty abyss that you’d nearly walked right into.
I’m so sorry!” you stuttered.
“My mind was elsewhere.”
“And was elsewhere worth nearly falling to your doom?” he raised a brow. You almost apologized again before you noticed the suppressed quirk of his lip - he was making fun of you. You rolled your eyes and pulled away, only just registering how close you two still were. He let his arms fall from around your shoulders, his hand lingering in your hair for just a moment before brushing it off your shoulder as it fell.
“Maybe,” you teased, resuming your trailing of the first years, now following behind another well-meaning senior.
“Was I that boring?” Cedric grinned, twirling to face you as he walked backwards. The irony of the boy who just chided you for not watching your step walking backwards just to speak to you was not lost on you, and a mirthful smile painted your lips. His cinnamon-brown locks were swept out of his face, cheeks seemingly forever flushed a lovely red hue. You’d known him for all of two minutes and could already tell he possessed a magnetic charm. He reminded you of one of your friends back at Ilvermorny, Ben, and the smile on your face grew wider.
“Not really, but if you were half as klutzy as you are charming, I’d think I was in the wrong country,” you replied thoughtlessly. You could tell from the confused look on Cedric’s face that the sentiment was lost on him, so you rushed to fill in the blanks.
“I mean -- you remind me of my friend is all. For all the charm that oozes out of Ben, I swear he lacks the same amount of grace,” you sniggered, delighting at the thought of your awkward (yet somehow still immensely popular) friend.
“You guys are around the same age, too.” you added.
Cedric slowed to a stop in front of you, forcing you to stop as well. He leaned in close, close enough for you to smell the sweet scent of the chocolate frogs on his breath that he’d no doubt eaten on the train -- before bringing a hand up to rest on your head.
“All I’m getting from that comparison is that you think I’m charming,” he said. Face burning, you brush his hand aside as he lets out a loud laugh, stepping back. You feel him sling his arm around your shoulders as you guys start walking again, a rather familiar act for such a stranger. You found yourself rather comforted by his presence, a welcome reminder of the warmth of your friends back home you’d been missing.
“Rather familiar already, Cedric?” you ask pointedly. Cedric raises both brows at you this time, tightening his grip.
“I’d say we’re best friends already, wouldn’t you? You even called me Cedric!” he joked.
“That’s because I’m an American,” you rolled your eyes. “It’ll take some getting used to the whole last-name-basis you lot like to use. It seems too...unfamiliar.”
A blast of cool air hit your face as your group passed the Great Hall once again, seeming to come to the end of its tour.
“Well, I’d be glad to be a familiar face for you,” Cedric offered. “First name basis and all...(Y/F/N)?”
You let out a giggle at the questioning tilt of his head, before nodding enthusiastically.
“Thank you,” you said gratefully. “You don’t need to pity me though. If that’s what you’re doing.”
“Not at all,” he responded. “I think we’re on our way to becoming best friends already, actually.”
The cheeky grin on his face was enough to break down the last of your walls, a smile blowing across your face as well. As you two chattered away, a certain blonde haired boy was watching you from across the hall. Still ~salty~ about your abrupt change in attitude during the two of you’s conversation earlier, you’d been on Draco Malfoy’s mind ever since. And when you were sorted into Hufflepuff house, he’d decided that you certainly would fit in amongst those muggle-loving, tree hugging weirdos anyways. But despite that, he still felt a weird thump in his chest when the sorting hat was finally placed on you; as if it would agree with him that you needed to be amongst Slytherins, where you truly belonged. And seeing you laughing alongside Cedric Diggory reminded him of a few hours earlier, when you were laughing with him — or maybe at him, but whatever — and he also decided he didn’t like that. Draco almost found himself marching over to confront you before he remembered that Cedric Diggory was a full three years his senior, and a skilled enough wizard that by the time his father heard the news he’d have probably already spent a few days in the Hogwarts infirmary, hexed to oblivion. While cursing his age and how it’s the sole thing keeping him from giving you a piece of his mind, Draco nearly jumped out of his skin when you suddenly turned and made eye contact with him. Giving him a large wave, the smile on your face suddenly convinced Draco that he’d do anything to see it again, and any earlier rudeness on your part was thrown out the window. Weren’t you angry still? Wasn’t he angry still? Lost in thought, Draco didn’t notice his friend coming up behind him until he felt Blaise’s hand drop heavily on his shoulder. He flinched, immediately turning his back on the Hufflepuffs across the hall. “What are you staring at, man?” Blaise inquired. “Nothing at all,” he said defensively, moving his body even more in order to block his friend’s view. The other boy looked at him in suspicion before shrugging, wrapping an arm around his shoulders before steering him towards the doors. “Flint’s talking about organizing the tryouts for this year,” said Blaise. “We should go check it out.” Nodding his head along to whatever else Blaise was mumbling in his ears, Draco felt the annoying compulsion to turn around once more. Stifling the persistent feeling, he swaggered out of the Great Hall. But, he couldn’t help but wonder if your eyes were still on him or on Diggory.
A/N: this chapter is shorter because as I said in a previous post it’s been sitting in my drafts and I just wanted to get it put out. This is also really more of a bridge chapter. My MacBook crashed so I wasn’t able to write more and I got annoyed with my phone bc I feel like it inhibits my creative juices :( I’ll try and get ch 3 out soon! Lmk if I should create a tag list :)

100 Days of Writing: Day Forty-Seven
...Yep, I’m getting pretty bad at this. Again, just collecting some recent questions I liked and answering them today.
This project is courtesy of @the-wip-project. I’m tagging some fellow participants: @she-who-the-river-could-not-hold, @hopskipaway, @thelittlefanpire, @easilydistractedbyfanfic, @dylanobrienisbatman, @fontainebleau22,
Day 42: What’s an an old idea that you've discarded?
Hmmm, well I never like admitting that I’ve “discarded” anything tbh. I’m very stubborn and I prefer to think about old projects and ideas as “on hiatus” or “for later” than abandoned, and this becomes more true the more work I did on them. I only truly discard projects, WIPs and ideas, when I move to a new fandom (and even then, some fandoms are such that I assume I’ll return to them later, so those are just....like cryo-frozen lol).
That said, I have a couple ideas that aren’t even on the idea board as of right now. One is my Ice Queen AU from the QR of Troped Madness 2020. I ended up going with Bellamy + Alice in Wonderland but I do think the Ice Queen idea was cool. It was just too complicated for the time and word restraints. The main reason it’s not on the list and essentially discarded is that I think the part that’s the most cool--using the ice shards in the eye to explain the pessimistic tone of the show--is not worth the effort of...the entire rest of the narrative, which would necessarily be long and complicated, even if I simplified it way, way down.
Other discards are....the really old stuff, I guess? I had a ‘friends go camping, scary movie cliche’ au. An art school au that dates to the same era as the Ark AU. Also, with only a couple exceptions, everything I claimed for BFF is essentially discarded.
Day 43: How often to you switch WIPs and do you think that’s a good thing to do?
I used to switch between projects a lot. Like even within a writing session. I can’t imagine doing that now. I often have several on my mind at once, but my writing focus is on one for a fair chunk of time. Prioritizing used to be easy because I wrote for so many events, and deadlines made my decisions for me. Now it’s a little trickier, and I am sometimes unsure about when I should switch over.
I do try to hit certain plot milestones before I move on--like finishing Ch 5 of the Sleeping Beauty AU before thinking of other works. I think it’s better (for me!) to focus for as long as possible then flit around too much. But it does vary. And I’ll mix in plotting or brainstorming for other fics with writing my ‘main fic.’
Last summer, when I had my block, I was switching around a lot. I’d work on a project for one (1) session and that was it, then I’d pick another one. I wouldn’t say that was ideal. I wouldn’t have said it was ideal then, either. It was just an attempt to get myself writing something, anything, even without any real inspiration or drive.
Day 44: Share a cool phrase from a WIP.
From my Bellarke Summer Fic:
He's got a season that's so long and lean and bright he can ride the edge of it for a long time.
Day 46: What does your editing/revision process look like?
Uh.... Honestly, it’s just me re-reading until I like how everything sounds, or until I get tired and figure good enough, or until I run into my deadline, if applicable.
I’ll often (though...not always) re-read a bit of writing immediately after I complete it to get the worst errors. I write mostly through free-writing so I end up with some very awkward stuff that shows up at the slightest glance. Then I put it away, and when the whole thing has been written (the whole one-shot, or the whole chapter), I’ll give it a little bit of space and then I’ll take the editing eye to it. Mostly I’m fixing style things and clarity issues. Cutting sentences down, lol, since that’s my big thing even in final drafts.
Sometimes I’ll make very big changes but that’s rare. For example, when I started working on the Sleeping Beauty AU again, I cut out about 2k from chapter 3, and then added in a new 2k. I decided I wanted to change up one of the ‘sci fi fairy tale’ elements, and I also needed to fix some bits to keep continuity with later chapters. Mostly, though, I know right away if something will work or if it doesn’t, and if it doesn’t, either for style reasons or plot reasons, I just wholesale discard it and write it again from scratch. That’s what I’m going to be doing with a scene from one of my current WIP one shots, for example.

My Online To Do List:
I’m legit so busy in both real life (kind of) and esp. for online stuff.  The stuff I am busy with is mostly fun stuff.  Including the more time-consuming stuff.  Still it does cause me a bit busy.  Like, he is my list of stuff of to do.  I might add more this list, as I think of more stuff and more stuff comes up.
A long post and to-do list under the read more cut.  I was gonna put the cut further down, but I didn’t really know where would be a good place to put one.  So I am just going to put one here, since it makes sense, and it is a good place to put one.  And that is just what I am going to do.
                                                         Legend:
So this is a legend type thing I have decided to for this to-do list, and I am going to do it for all or most of the sections/parts of this ‘Legend’.  This is to help track my progress of the stuff on this list.
For the Game Section, the ‘Legend’ is:  Haven’t Downloaded/Have Downloaded.  Haven’t Started/Have Started.  Not In Progress/In Progress.  On Break/Currently Playing/Not Playing.  Haven’t Finished/Have Finished.  Not Replaying/Replaying.  Maybe some other ones in the future and some Section/Part specific ones.
For the Fics/Writings Section, the ‘Legend’ is:  Out of the Planning Stages/In the Planning Stages.  Haven’t Started/Have Started.  Not In Progress/In Progress.  On Break/Currently Writing/Not Currently Writing.  Haven’t Finished/Have Finished.  Hasn’t been edited, proofread, or/& beta’ed/Currently being edited, proofread, or/& beta’ed/Has been edited, proofread, or/& beta’ed.
Whatever is bolded, is what is applicable to that section/thing.  So for example if Haven’t Started is bolded, and not Started, that means I haven’t started it yet. And etc.  Alright, that is all there is to the ‘Legend’ for now.  Now on to actually adding this/these to the parts/sections of this list, and on to the actual to-do list itself.
PC Games I Want to Play and/or Finish:
1.  DATING START!  Undertale Sans Dating Sim Visual Novel/Game:  Been meaning to play this, since the demo was so good and it just looked so good in general.  I even was following the countdown to full release super closely, because I wanted to play it right when it came out.  Which I did dip up opening up, just to see if everything was good boot up wise, and I saw the intro.  But then I ended up not playing it, even though I wanted to play it right when it came out, lol.  I got busy with the HxH Big Bang and other stuff.  And I wanted to make sure once I started playing the game, I really got through a lot of it.
Basically, I wanted to have a decent amount to actually play it once.  But I just couldn’t set aside a lot of time.  However, I am less busy now, and also a bit less busy with my HxH BB.  So I am finally going to get to playing this game, and I am very excited to play it.  I may or may not post stuff about while I play or/& after I finish it.  Will tag spoilers if so.
Haven’t Downloaded/Have Downloaded.  Haven’t Started/Have Started.  Not In Progress/In Progress.  On Break/Currently Playing/Not Playing.  Haven’t Finished/Have Finished.  Not Replaying/Replaying.
2.  Your Turn To Die and  Your Time To Shine: Island Existence!  Visual Novel/Sprite Game/Game/etc.:  I am still in Ch2.  So I got the rest of Ch2 and part of Ch3 to play.  Been meaning to do finish what is released of this currently for awhile, since it is really good.  But my break from it ended up being longer than I thought.
Anyway, I am going to get back to it and play and finish this soon.  I also just need to outright play ‘Your Time To Shine: Island Existence!’, since I haven’t started that game at all.  Will tag spoilers if I post anything about them.
Your Turn to Die:  Haven’t Downloaded/Have Downloaded.  Haven’t Started/Have Started.  Not In Progress/In Progress.  On Break/Currently Playing/Not Playing.  Haven’t Finished/Have Finished.  Not Replaying/Replaying.
Your Turn to Shine:   Haven’t Downloaded/Have Downloaded.  Haven’t Started/Have Started.  Not In Progress/In Progress.  On Break/Currently Playing/Not Playing.  Haven’t Finished/Have Finished.  Not Replaying/Replaying.
3.  The Witch’s Heart/Witch’s Heart Game/Sprite Game/etc.:  Haven’t even started this yet, and from what I have seen and heard of it on YouTube I am really missing out by doing so.  And honestly, if I don’t play it soon, I am probably going to get even more spoiled about it, hahaha.  So yeah, gotta play this game.  Will tag spoilers if I post anything about it.
Haven’t Downloaded/Have Downloaded.  Haven’t Started/Have Started.  Not In Progress/In Progress.  On Break/Currently Playing/Not Playing.  Haven’t Finished/Have Finished.  Not Replaying/Replaying.
4.  Undertale:  Act to Flirt:  I am about halfway through this.  I kind of what to wait until 0.4 comes out to get more through it, but we will see.  I might not be able to resist finishing up what is already out for this VN.
Haven’t Downloaded/Have Downloaded.  Haven’t Started/Have Started.  Not In Progress/In Progress.  On Break/Currently Playing/Not Playing.  Haven’t Finished/Have Finished.  Not Replaying/Replaying.
5.  TS! Underswap Demo:  I both need to download AND play this.  From stuff I have seen of it, some let’s plays thumbnails, character designs, and etc., it just looks really good, and I should really get to playing it.  From what I have seen of character portrayals in this too, I am also liking them, and I think this is probably one of my favorite versions of Underswap of a/the Swap AU.  I am looking forward to more of it too, whenever that ended up being.
Haven’t Downloaded/Have Downloaded.  Haven’t Started/Have Started.  Not In Progress/In Progress.  On Break/Currently Playing/Not Playing.  Haven’t Finished/Have Finished.  Not Replaying/Replaying.
6.  UT MV (Undertale Multiverse) Bonely Hearts Club VN Demo:  Currently not finished, and is just a Demo. still want to play the demo though.  Which is what is out of the actual game/VN so far.  There will be ? routes and ? dates.  They already say how many of these things, but I forget.  So I will add the number(s) later after I remember them, or look it up.
Haven’t Downloaded/Have Downloaded.  Haven’t Started/Have Started.  Not In Progress/In Progress.  On Break/Currently Playing/Not Playing.  Haven’t Finished/Have Finished.  Not Replaying/Replaying.
7.  Shattered Hope F:  Cabin Confiding (Events):  Haven’t started yet.  But I what to soon, because they say people should watch/play this and the Social Butterfly events, before watching the new batch of episodes; which have started to come out.  Also, it just looks fun, so yeah.
Haven’t Downloaded/Have Downloaded.  Haven’t Started/Have Started.  Not In Progress/In Progress.  On Break/Currently Playing/Not Playing.  Haven’t Finished/Have Finished.  Not Replaying/Replaying.
8.  Some other visual novels, games, demos/chapters, and etc. that I will add later.  Since the games above, are the ones I want to play the most currently.
My Planning and Writing of my Fics and etc.:
1.  The Meeting of a God and a Demon:  Just need to do some slight edits.  Nothing major to the story, just fixing some typos/grammar errors I missed, maybe removing/adding some tags, and adding some page dividers (Since I now it is a good idea to add these, and because I also now how to them kind of on AO3) to make reading a bit easier.  So yeah, just some minor edits for this.
Out of the Planning Stages/In the Planning Stages.
2.  Secret Upcoming Fic:  The fic is basically completely beta’ed, just some stuff earlier on in the fic we need to get back to, and just some more beta’ing and editing.  But we have already gone over the whole fic, it just needs a bit more editing, beta’ing, and polishing it up.
I said I will probably will release this fic this month (or next one), but it looks like releasing it at least this month (February) might not super likely for a couple of reasons.  1.  My beta has been bit busy lately, and so I am just waiting when there less busy and for them to reach out to me again when they are less busy and ready.  And 2.  This fic (or at least a snippet of it.  I am going to release the whole fic after the zine with the snippet of it is released) was originally meant for a TAU Zine.  More specially, TAU Zine ED2:  Demonology and the Occult.
I thought since I had taken so long to get this fic done and beta’ed, that I was too late to enter it in the zine, but I was wrong, and I was able to sign up for it.  Now I am just waiting for the deadline date(s) for the zine to be posted on the transcendence-zine tumblr.  And because I am waiting for the deadline date, I actually don’t know when the zine itself will release.  And I can’t release the fic until the zine gets released which I don’t know if that will be February or March.  Pretty unlikely to be February though.  So those are the reasons why I am not sure if this fic will be released in March and esp. February.
I will try for both release of this fic for both months, but like I said, due to needing it be finished beta’ing and due to not knowing when the deadline for this and zine release dates are, I am not sure it will be in February or March and might end up being later.  So like, maybe April or May instead.  Still trying for February or March though, so let’s just *cross our fingers* that I will be able to.
Out of the Planning Stages/In the Planning Stages.
3.  Hunter x Hunter Big Bang 2021 Fic:  I have already started planning this fic out, but I got a lot to do.  I have a few months until when the draft is due, but I have a lot to do for it, and I want to make sure this fic is good as my 1st HxH fic posted online and because this my first time actually entering the HxH BB.  I have read and seen a lot of HxH BB stuff in the past, but I haven’t entered myself, until this year!  So yeah, pretty busy with this.
Out of the Planning Stages/In the Planning Stages.
4.  Planning for and a another TAU (TAU meaning the Gravity Falls AU called Transcendence-AU) Fic:  Got some ideas for a fic, but before I can really get started planning and writing this fic and stuff about it, I am waiting for the transcendence-au tumblr to answer a question/submission of mine.  Depending on the answer, this fic might either need more or less behind-the-scenes stuff and planning.  This fic probably won’t be able for awhile.
Out of the Planning Stages/In the Planning Stages.
5.  Planning for and another yet again another TAU (TAU meaning the Gravity Falls AU called Transcendence-AU) Fic:  Most likely another God/Goddess/Deity Fic like my Gaia one.  And while I have other stuff planned for Gaia, this fic probably won’t be focused on her, though she might get mentioned.  This fic is much more likely to release before that other fic am planning and talking about for the previous numbered point, 4.  And while I don’t have an estimate date for when this will be released, hopefully it won’t be TOO far off in the future.  This fic should definitely be interesting.
Out of the Planning Stages/In the Planning Stages.
6.  Maybe/Probably other stuff in the future.  But the above is my current to-do list for my writings and fics.
                                              Miscellaneous Stuff:
1.  Start and get caught up on some fics.
2.  Start and get caught up on some comics.
3.  Watch YouTube Videos.
4.  Some other stuff to write out, that aren’t fics.
5.  Maybe/Probably other stuff in the future.
Hahah, I know this might not seem like a lot (this just my online stuff), but it it is defin. a lot to me, and is gonna keep me busy for awhile.  Which I am happy I have stuff to keep busy, but this is still quite a lot.  Still looking forward start really making way through this to-do list.
This took me so long to do, lol.  The list itself took long enough, but trying to do the legend stuff, which I originally had spaced differently, but that wasn’t working, so I had to fix it/them to make it/them look good, and that took me even more time.  Finally done for now though.

My Knowledge Stack
Another post that started life as a reply - and then got longer - and then seemed to have added general applicability. So …
@moomehta writes
Calling all infovores: What is your Web reading stack? I want to improve and optimize what I consume. Here’s my toolset for Discovery, Queuing, and Absorption:
Feedbin RSS + Newsletter reader
Instapaper, plus its Kindle delivery
Kagi search
Raindrop bookmarking
Orion browser
Jatan https://web.jatan.space/2023/02/15/calling-all-infovores.html
This is best answered by revealing one screen on my iPad mini.
Tumblr media
The apps are in no particular order, though roughly from top left to bottom right in terms of regularity of use (Gluon/MicroBlog aside).
I don’t typically have alerts and notifications on to pull me in unwanted directions.
As I read (and listen) to whatever it is, various options;
just move on - a LOT
a quote grabs me - Readwise
the article is a little too long for that moment or needs focus - Reader.
a link that needs looking at - it MIGHT get saved to Reader - OR to Drafts.

What hard work? Nothing has been done since 2017 and that was nothing but a lot of reblogging. Seriously how is that hard? A lot of people would like to participate in an OtaYuri week, if you're not willing to do something with this blog, delete it and let someone else pick it up. As of right now, you're just being selfish and petty for not allowing someone else to host the week. That's all it boils down too.
Did you even read the post? I will repeat what I said here: anyone is free to host their own Otayuri Week, and we would be happy to support them by reblogging their announcements on our blog provided that they’re being inclusive of all fans.
Otayuri Week doesn’t have to be on this blog. In fact, anon, you’re the one being fairly selfish in telling me to delete it after I explained that the blog is currently serving as an archive for the works submitted to past events. The fact that you think that hosting an event is just “a lot of reblogging” really speaks volumes on how well such a theme week would go if hosted by someone like you.
Detailing it further for others that might be curious on how to host this sort of thing, this implies:
checking if there’s enough interest for the event to be viable through fandom contact, polls, fandom/ship activity in general, amount of creators active, while being aware that only a very small portion of the people claiming to be interested will actually participate
planning out a viable schedule while juggling together: 1) the availability of several mods, 2) the dates for all other fandom events, often gathered by hand and by asking people because most fandoms don’t have a comprehensive event calendar, 3) several other factors such as busy holiday/school/business times for participating fans, time needed to go through each phase with a good response without the fandom losing interest, etc
setting up the blog, themes, etc, involving code and graphic design and image editing, all of which can take a considerable amount of time (also applicable to the steps below)
drafting up banners and other initial graphics for the blog and announcement posts
drafting up the rules for the event as well as coherency rules for the mods, this not to mention extra information pages/posts such as faqs
drafting up an announcement post in a way that will be both informative and engaging
contacting other event blogs for affiliation advertising, spreading the word, answering asks, sending requests to be included on event calendars if they exist, etc, basically PR
setting up necessary media for themes submissions, several rounds of voting for themes, etc, and draft up graphics and announcement posts for ALL those things
process all the data between each phase, often manually, i.e.: go through each and every submitted theme, sort through them to make sure there are no duplicates, discuss with other mods how to handle similar themes, individually input them on the forms to be used for the voting rounds, etc
spread the word AGAIN for every new announcement that is made
create the final theme masterpost including graphics and announcement text, discuss theme placement within the timeframe according to how tired the fandom will be versus how versatile the themes are versus what will work well, etc etc etc
spread the word AGAIN, contact affiliates, more PR effort
figure out all the tags you’re going to use for the event, which can list all the characters involved, pairings present, themes, days, type of media, event date/year, etc so that fans can filter the participating works more easily, set up page on blog sorted by all these, make sure all mods are on the same page regarding tags to use
set up AO3 collection, figure out how that works for a multi-year event, make sure all mods know how to use it
THIS IS ALL BEFORE THE EVENT BEGINS. note that pretty much all of the steps described until now have to be cross-checked with the other mods, which might have conflicting opinions or low availability to confirm everything is up to standard and that we can continue with everyone’s agreement
event begins. there are hundreds of entries every day. you must keep track of which ones have already been reblogged, which ones have not, make sure all of them are tagged properly on the blog with all the tags I described above, cross-check with several other tags for the event because people will put their works even on tags that we supposedly aren’t tracking, or even not tag them at all and expect us to find them anyway. this takes HOURS, even if everything is in its proper place.
find all the works on AO3 for the event, most of which aren’t linked or tagged so that we can find them easily. add them to collection.
post all the submissions that have been sent anonymously for us to post, make sure to tag properly and check they show up on the tag.
if a mod doesn’t show up or doesn’t do their work? you need to go back and do it and have triple the work because you can’t be sure of what has been taken care of or what hasn’t, often by individually checking the notes of each post to make sure it has/hasn’t been reblogged because there are too many entries on our blog to find a single post easily. once again, this for HUNDREDS of posts every day.
keep checking the tags and AO3 several weeks after the event is over for late entries.
Note that this is the condensed version! All this while juggling several mods with probably conflicting opinions on everything, a busy schedule and daily life for everyone, all the time it takes to draft up the posts and do the graphics and process the data, and then dealing with the hundreds of daily entries once the event itself arrives while keeping every single one of those steps on schedule? You can bet it’s hard work.
Yes, we have not hosted Otayuri Week since 2017. You’ll be surprised to find that people with a large amount of responsibilities often don’t have the time and mental availability for this sort of workload, even without any added complications, and neither of the remaining mods is able to keep it up at the moment. I’ve already expressed my thoughts on adding new mods or handing over the event in my other post.
I will not answer anymore asks in the tone of anon above. I have already explained the reasons for this decision and stated my full support for anyone who wishes to host Otayuri Week in the future, and I’m more than happy to explain things further if anyone has more questions. However, I will not stand for the childish sort of personal attacks and disregard for people’s work as were used by anon in this ask, especially since anon chose to completely ignore what I actually said in my original reply.

Note
I hate to be that person but I'm on mobile and the link didn't work. Sorry.
dhjlgfajfghd that’s fair, lemme copypaste it onto a post
   General Info
Jun’s characterisation on this blog may be influenced by my own headcanons. You don’t have to agree with them and I won’t hold it against you if you don’t, but please, don’t be rude about it. I’m sure there’s a lot of other Jun blogs out there that more closely resemble what you’re looking for.
This blog is independent, multiverse/multiship and non-exclusive. Despite it being non-private, I may be selective in who I roleplay with.
I accept magic anons. The current m!a status is displayed in the sidebar.I use rpthreadtracker to track threads.I don’t have xkit.My timezone is CET and activity will most likely reflect that.
Please note that this is a side blog. If I follow, send asks, or like or comment on posts, it’ll have to be from my hub: viomuses.
An Important Note on Mental Health
I don’t follow a lot of people because I have really bad anxiety around following (ask me about this if you want to know more), so it’s unlikely that I’ll follow you unless we’re really close friends and/or regular writing partners. This is something I am actively working on, as I do want to be more involved in the community. As things are though, me not following back does not automatically mean I’m not interested.
When things get too overwhelming, I will password protect this blog. This is usually temporary, and I will return after a while. IM won’t work during that time.
   What I’m willing to RP
I will write anything from angst to banter to humour to fluff, but be warned that some things come more naturally to this muse than others.
I will rp with:
YuGiOh characters - that includes other Juns, GX is preferred since I’m not as familiar with other generations
characters from other fandoms I know - Don’t be afraid to ask if I know a fandom or not. Just don’t be mad if I don’t.
characters from fandoms I don’t know - I live under a rock, so I might not know anything about your fandom and character. If you don’t mind that, the same things apply as for OCs.
OCs - Please have an about page that allows me to learn about the character. I’m picky about OCs.
I will roleplay nsfw themes, but I won’t write smut with you unless you’re over 18. Any nsfw content will be tagged as such.
I will not rp with genderbends due to personal reasons. There might be exceptions to that rule, so feel free to ask, but please don’t be upset if I refuse. Trans hcs do not fall under this category.
I will not write therapy plots unless I initiate them on my own terms.
   What about Shipping?
Mun is filthy multishipping trash and will write almost anything.
That being said though, I don’t rp just to ship, and would like to take the time to properly develop our muses’ relationship instead of just rushing things for the sake of a ship. I don’t mind working with established relationships though, as long as we’ve talked about it first.
This blog doesn’t have Exclusives, but it does have Mains. They can be found here.
   On the Subject of Triggers
I’ll do my best to tag common triggers and squicks when they occur, using the tags “insert-trigger-here tw”. Please tell me if I miss anything.
If you could tag any visual depictions of human teeth, as well as visual and written teeth-related body horror, I’d be very thankful. I’d also appreciate if you could tag the urls of people you thread with, and any group verses you’re a part of (if applicable).
If we’re writing partners it would be nice if you could do this even if I don’t follow you, since I tend to check the blogs of people I thread with manually.
And lastly, a few basic Guidelines
I would like to keep my thread count at a maximum of three per partner at any time. If a fourth thread is started I will keep the reply in my drafts until one of the ongoing three is either completed or dropped. Exceptions to this rule may occur.
I don’t expect you to match my length, and probably won’t be able to match yours either. My replies are often relatively short and to the point, and I find it hard to make them any other way. I will try if matching is important to you, but please forgive me if I can’t.
Please enable non-followers to contact you via IM if you want to rp with me. (Unless you’re following me and have things set up so I’ll be able to contact you. The point is that we should be able to communicate.)
If you want to interact with Jun from a specific timeline/verse, please specify which one. If nothing is specified, I’ll default to my main verse. Here is a list of my verses.
Tag me as ‘jundeccentmil’.Tagging me in random things is absolutely okay and makes me feel appreciated.
Reblog Karma is in effect! If you don’t want to send stuff in, it’s not that hard to reblog from the source.
Please do not steal the icons that are used on this blog, or the images used in this blog’s theme and pages. They are all cropped and edited either by me or for me so don’t use them for yourself.
This isn’t a hard and fast rule, but I’d prefer if you didn’t use the reply feature for interactions, as those are a hassle to respond to. Asks and reblogs are much easier to work with for me, especially in large quantities.
The memes and open starters on this blog don’t have an expiration date, so it’s perfectly fine to send an ask based on a meme I reblogged months ago, as long as you make it clear which meme your ask is for. Event-based memes and starters are an obvious exception.
If you don’t like my reply or think you can’t properly work with it, it’s totally fine to ask me to change it and I’ll do my best to fix/improve it for you.
Uni homework/personal problems/life in general is a thing, but I try to be as quick and regular with replies as I can. Feel free to gently poke me when you think I might have forgotten about something.
English isn’t my native language. Don’t hesitate to point out mistakes I make, but please be polite about it.
Basically, just don’t be a dick. Please.
More to be added if it becomes relevant.
