“What… is that?”

The Captain doesn’t make any attempt to answer you, the cold armor covering his palm and fingers still pulls you as he walks. The box on the dining table moves slightly – it is the only way you managed to notice it because the colors blended in a bit too well and the shadows separating the two objects seemed near nonexistent.

You see holds on the top and blink a few times to refresh your eyes. There are more than twenty of these holes, all the same size and shape. The Captain did it himself, but he doesn’t find the need to tell you of that. It was only just a small little thing compared to the monsters he cuts into without a singular struggle.

He’s humble as you have told him. That is one of the few compliments you have ever given him, and he refuses to forget it as long as the many more years he will live inevitably.

“What is that?” You ask again, still not completely standing side by side with him.

“Open it,” He finally responds, letting go of your hand and gently pushing you forward – compared to how he has touched other things and people, it can be compared to the lightest breeze Mondstadt’s Archon can muster.

With hands that shake so much despite your new home being so warm, you peel off the lid slowly – flinching as if something will attack you once you’re at your most vulnerable, despite Capitano never physically hurting you in the months you have been forced to live here. 

He has banned such too, he says, even with the guards in charge of bringing you back here whenever he is fulfilling the Tsaristia’s orders.

“Huh?” You murmur, not knowing how to act to your future husband’s birthday gift to you.

A rabbit, small and fluffy and as white as Sneznhaya’s snowy mountains. She sits in the box, looking up at you with large, curious eyes.

“Her name is Jessamine, as I have been told,” The Captain breaks the silence, for once not enjoying such. He doesn’t like it when you are quiet, nervous, afraid. “She is named after a famous author who was known for her romantic novels.”

You don’t respond. After a few more moments of icy stillness in the well-lit dining room, a heavy hand is placed on your shoulder. The light touches it brings doesn’t relieve you of any fear.

“Happy birthday, [First].”

michael kaiser x reader

a careless whisper escapes your lips.

"did you know that your freckles are where your lover kissed you the most in your past life?"

the moon shines dimly through the windows of your shared apartment. its light favoring kaiser, blessing you with the image of his back; the smooth surface covered in fresh, red marks, and his freckles that you trace every so often.

"hm?" he replies groggily, head smushed onto his pillow, kaiser's eyes struggling to stay open. you don't respond to him, knowing that he's exhausted and keeping him awake is the last thing you want to do so you brush through his hair and kiss his shoulder lightly.

you admit you stare at kaiser a lot and you do this shamelessly – enough to remember and to pin point the freckles on his body. it's scattered all over his back, the constellation travels all the way up to his neck. however this one is one you've never seen before. maybe it's just a coincidence.

it would be stupid to think that you've caused this but you don't completely brush the thought away. your heart tingles at concept of soulmates, especially with kaiser.

kaiser who is arrogant and undoubtedly lame regardless of how the media portrays him. kaiser who has this innate need for success and control but with you, he's learned how to be comfortable with letting go. kaiser who has created a name for himself through years of work, perfecting his art, decides to share his sacred space with you, and make room for your love in his hectic life. kaiser whom you've learned to love despite his flaws.

and maybe these freckles, a constellation of sorts, a gift from a past and now present lover, will continue to grow.

his body serving as a galaxy for you to paint his world with stars, a token of your love for him.

2. Do you make dinner, or does your f/o? Is it a joint effort?

Depends on who has energy that night, if either of us do. Both of us enjoy cooking when there's the ability, but we definitely order out or eat leftovers on many nights.

3. Do you have any kids with your f/o? If so, please share details about them!

I've never made a fankid with Toshinori: I think we have far too many unofficial kids, to be honest.

Midoriya would be the main one, of course, but I think I might end up stealing Bakugou in the long term, because my self-insert is a better person than I am. Also Hitoshi, he's going to get adopted for sure, our Quirks are too similar for me to not get attached. And I think I'd have a couple of kids from my own classes that keep in touch. So, yeah. Too many kids, someone help.

9. Has your f/o killed for you, or would they? Have you killed for them, or would you?

I think that Toshinori would kill for me, but I think that would cause some very deep rifts between us and it would be hard for me to get over it. And no. I'm strictly a pacifist: not all of my self-inserts share that trait, but this one does.
