okay so fantasy au 😭 i needed to ramble

Mrs Curtis was a nymph. Shes kinda like the nymphs in percy jackson, her skin is leaf green (maybe changes colors in the autumn?) and her hair is this sunstricken golden color and she ofc has leaves in it almost always. I also like lowkey wanna say that she has a tail with leaves at the end too-she loved to make flower crowns and maybe she even photosynthesizes? Who knows! I need to draw this concept out

Mr Curtis was a gargoyle. He’s REALLY terrifying looking but once you actually get to know him he’s a huge goofball. He used to pull faces and stuff to make his sons laugh. He had huge bat like wings and a long spiked tail-he had talons too and his eyes would glow bright yellow when he was mad-like ONLY yellow. The pupils and irises were GONE. He taught Darry how to fly!

Onto Darry-he’s a gryphon/human mix? Kinda? Like a centaur but the lower half is a fire gryphon. He was born normal size but VERY quickly grew and ended up being gryphon sized (Like…50+ft in size, gryphons are BIG) and dude couldn’t fit in the house anymore by the time he was like thirteen :( But he’s a fire gryphon so cold doesn’t bother him much. But his wings are kinda flame colored? He has a mane of harness fire around his neck too and the tip of his lion tail is a flame ofc-when he’s mad though the fire flares up and can become harmful. He still roofs houses but he has to be awful careful with his size, though he also gets paid to clear out areas because he’s so big so he can easily sweep stuff. He’s harmless tho, just a big birb/lion boi

Soda is a centaur-his lower half is a palomino colt and his upper half is human obviously. He REALLY likes having his mane and tail played with and sometimes will just flick his brothers with his tail until they give him attention lmao-he is NOT quiet either like you can hear this boy galloping from a mile away. He’s also a big fan of having his tail braided and sometimes will braid it before. work to make sure oil doesn’t get on it. He’s very prideful of his coat though and likes when people give him attention for how shiny his coat is-He hates cleaning his hooves though because it’s hard to do :( Sometimes he’ll nestle into Darry’s wings after a hard day too :(

Pony is a cervitaur ofc-his lower half is a fallow deer (maybe an axis deer…) but this boy is SO prideful of his antler nubs and styles his hair purposefully to make sure there showing at all times. When his antlers actually start growing though he’s really happy except for when leaves and flowers get stuck in ‘em-but this boy is FAST-like 50mph fast. He could outrun Soda any day (I know horses are faster shhh) but he’s so fun. His coat is also super fluffy…his hair is too thanks to being half deer. He definitely sneaks into orchards to steal their food tho and Darry gives him an earful. Something I’m considering is having one of each curtis brother be in control of some element considering their mom was a nymph…Darry’s fire but I have to decide on the others…maybe Soda’s water and Pony’s earth? Idk)

I’m still deciding what I wanna do for Johnny…I’m thinking kraken or something of that nature? But like he can live on land? Idk what I wanna do for him, I wanna have him be opposite to Dally but I dunno how a kraken would fit into Tulsa…Just a big ol water creature…I’ll probably create my own creature thing for him LMAO

Dally’s a dragon. No doubt. He has a dragon form and a semi human “disguise” of sorts…like he has dragon ears, dragon wings and a dragon tail and he has some splotches of scales along his body but his full dragon form is a sight to behold. He’s about Darry’s size in full dragon form and him and Darry have definitely gotten into some •Godzilla vs Kong” esque fights because Dally kept trying to burn down the jail and Darry had to stop him…Johnny was watching (he’s about the same size as Darry too) and he’s just frantically trying to put all the fires out while yelling at adam LMAO-but this boy is so unruly sometimes…also horns. His horns are sharp as a blade (play it cool little brother…sorry-) and he’s not afraid to use them

Two Bit is definitely an imp to me. He likes to try and pull pranks on the Socs a lot-he’s kinda like an evil looking satyr…like he has little goat hooves and he even has a pitchfork but he’s really not and. He’s just a funny guy who wants to scare people sometimes. He’s a bit smaller than average (like…5’6’’) but he’s still trying to be scary. He has bat wings too and flares then when he’s all angry and tries to make himself look bigger but he just cannot-

Steve’s a werewolf. I don’t have much on him whether :(

I’m debating on keeping the Socs human or making them mythical beings too…I have ideas for Marcia and Cherry and even some of the musical Socs so we’ll see

Sen - he tries to act normal but everything he says and does just seems dorkish for some reason lmao. Spent 45 minutes thinking about how his voice cracked when he answered a question

Kamakiri - he yells a little less but thats about it. If anyone asks what he thinks about his crush he will say he hates them (when he doesn't)

Kuroiro - blushing and can barely get a sentence out. Poor dude. He by far becomes like 5x more poetic around his crush

Kendo - starts overthinking every little interaction between her and her crush but she would rather die then let people know shes worrying so much about how they picked up their pen this morning lmaoo

Kodai - she starts doing little insignificant things for them just to make their day a little easier. But for the most part she acts normal

Komori - she always has this big smile when their around <3 she tends to trip up on her words and such while talking to them

Shiozaki - shes always a little more akward and a little less social when theyre around simply because shes nervous of what they think of her ykyk. She definitely puts a little more into how she looks each day when theyre around.

Shishida - for as long as his crush is in japan they will not be allowed to open any doors themselves. Shishida will always be there to do it for them.

Shoda - dude can barely talk to people normally you think he can talk to someone he likes? No. But he does leave nice anonymous notes in your locker for you to find.

Pony - she gets nervous and just starts talking and rambling about who knows what to the point her throat starts to hurt lmao.

Tsubaraba - he immediately becomes 20x dummer when his crush is nearby and what makes it worse is he will do crazy shit to try and impress them but it always backfires.

Tetsutetsu - hes constantly trying to prove to his crush how manly he is. Its at the point where if he finds a jar thats a little too hard to open he has to wait til they are in the room until he can open it.

Tokage - she tries to stay her usual social and outgoing self but she does get a little self conscious when theyre around. Shes worried they dont like her for who knows why

Manga - other than trying to make his crush laugh a little more each day he tends to draw them a lot. (He would probably die of embarrassment if he showed them the pictures tho.)

Honenuki - hes the only one here that stays 100% normal honestly. No one would be able to tell he likes someone unless he straight up told them.

Bondo - poor dude freezes up completely when his crush is near. While some of the others are worried that their crush doesnt like them hes worried that his crush thinks bondo hates them because of how he freezes up and such

Monoma - he is meanly nice to them. He would walk up to his crush after training or something and say 'bakugous incompetence is the only reason your stupidly brilliant plan worked. So good job reading his inability to see past your tricks' or whatever

Reiko - if she has a crush on someone she tries to avoid them at all costs lmao. After a few weeks she will slowly approach them and try to start a conversation but it doesnt turn out well

Rin - bros biggest fear is accidentally saying something that makes him sound stupid honestly. He works hard to be a hero and he wants to show it off it front of his crush but at the same time he doesnt want to seem bitchy yk?

Goooood morning yall I'm here with ✨️my ocs✨️

I kept arguing w myself on which ones to post lmao, soooo I ended up choosing them! I call them the children of the forest, tho tbh it's probably more mysterious than it needs to be lol.

So in order of their appearance in the story, we've got: Ben, Mo, Sean, Kered, Nate, Limarl/Arle, and Torine! And also Comsio, who's not in the above pic.

They're all adopted brothers, tho I'm considering reworking genders n things, so idk. Currently, I can't decide if Limarl should go back to being called Arle or not. Everyone, except Comsio and Limarl, is basically the same age, like 15-16 at the start. Limarl is 20 or so. Everyone except Comsio and Torine woke up in this forest with amnesia. And the whole main story for them is that they all have different parts of their bodies that are oversized and growing too large, or in Limarl's case, missing entirely.

Sooo I ended up spending 2 hrs this morning drawing them 😅 cuz that's an old af pic, and my most recent drawing was these guys as MLP ponies- don't ask hah-

I'm honestly surprised I went with these guys first- it's hard to tell where it's body horror and where it's, well, natural or disability or irl deformity. Like, I know that post abt disability in horror and specifically deformity. That one on hospitals and body horror and the Uncanny Valley coming from ableism.

I won't directly tag this as body horror bc I know all the discourse around deformity and horror. Though I really see these ocs as being both, since I know people irl can have all their fingers missing and large ears and such. I don't feel like my ocs are completely based in reality ofc, since they've actually got magic and other wacky things, but they do reflect it somewhat.

Sorry if I'm rambling, just needed to put that out there.

Anyways!

So for each of them, their, like, situation idk, is: Ben-big hands and feet, Mo-big eyes and mouth, Sean-big ears and nose, Kered-big head and long hair/nails (keratin grows fast), Nate-long neck, Torine- long torso, Limarl-long limbs/missing face and fingers/toes, and Comsio-combination of everyone but Limarl/multiple eyes/weird magic crap lol.

I've already spent wayyyy too long on this so I won't explain much more but-

Limarl has a mouth on the back of his head which he eats with, when he was found he had basically no senses except touch. And he didn't know how to read braille so he could only communicate/be communicated with writing letters one by one on his skin with a finger. Eventually experimental surgery is done on him and his senses are returned, but it doesn't actually give him a face or anything. He only has eyebrows on his face. Comsio was created in a horror dimension kinda side story, it's a long story lmaoo- let's just say a cult was involved-

Unfortunately probably the Miku exaid fic ;-; the concept is fun and cute but with some stuff I get an outline or somethin cookin and then it never sees the light of day again

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I’m pretty good at detailed descriptions and visuals. I’m much more an artist than a writer, so I’ve spoken before about how I view my stories like written descriptions of story boards, and I absolutely love to try and paint a picture with my words.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

In my actual writing I’m unsure and would love to hear any feedback, but for me it’s actually just GETTINg myself to write. It takes a lot of mental energy to start the task and I can never really make myself do it, it’s only when I’m in a rare and intense mood for writing somethin that I’ve got a REALLY solid idea on. That’s mostly why I’ve got so few fics. I have more ideas, but it’s difficult to get myself to a point with any of them where I’ll actually write any of it out lol

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Personally I think it’s neat when other people do it, but unless it’s French I probably never will. Even then I’d be so nervous about getting it wrong I’d probably find some kinda work around

19. First fandom you wrote for?

On AO3 it’s King Ohger, but in reality…. Oh boy. Warriors fanfic abt my sonas when I was like 10? Outside of OCs my first canon-aligned fanfic was probably one of the my little pony ones on wattpad. I did mostly original character stuff when I wrote frequently as a tween so I guess I didn’t start with fanfic until like a year or two ago.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

I only have a few so I’m proud of them all for different reasons, but I think Sento’s Wandering Mind is one that I’m particularly fond of even tho it didn’t do as well as the others. It’s conceptually something I’ve been trying to put into words for a long time, and it was my first foray into writing anything REMOTELY sexual, which was a huge jump for me that I’m very proud of as a person who previously struggled a lot more with “catholic shame” if I had to put a word to it. It’s kinda a heavy read and isn’t perfect, but the fact that it’s out in the world is important to me and I’m happy with it. Hope you all enjoy!!

Please explain the MLP horse hierarchy theory

okay im drawing the graph slowly in between commission stuff,

I know there are ponies of higher status and it works kinda how you’d expect it to work, there’s royals, and rich folk, there’s higher ups and ponies who make significantly more money than the average pony, it’s kinda like real life a bit.

but it’s not hard to notice that a large amount of ponies with higher status are extremely tall or at least a bit taller than average.

im not saying aquiring higher status has something to do with that but i couldnt help noticing while drawing this chart because when making the chart i kept thinking abt the richer ponies in mlp. and it’s kinda fun to think about

like yeah. if ur super tall or have a long nose ur gonna be rich and famous or something, i mean this as a societal assumption, like a social bias or expectation. but it’s subconscious.

all the princesses are tall asf, cadance is the shortest (im not counting twilight because her circumstances are a bit different) but she’s still taller than average ponies

she *became* a princess like twilight through her actions and earned it. but even before that she was already pretty tall naturally, as if it was destined to happen to her the minute she was born. unlike twilight, who if she chose a different path, would never have become a princess.

unlike celestia and luna who were born immortal, already of higher status. dubbed “princesses” by the townsfolk because that’s how they chose to go about it. now i know this is all chalked up to just a character design choice, but it’s still an interesting thought.

so. gist of what im saying: not all but most of the ponies that are richer than others, are very tall. which implies that taller ponies automatically have an elevated status in everyone’s subconscious just by being taller, like an unspoken bias or role they’re destined to play.

it’s like a small type of prejudice, that is subconscious, a stereotype if you will. the expectations of a taller pony in school may be just naturally higher than everyone else through unspoken bias

no one really notices it or points it out when it is maybe noticed by onlookers or a tall pony themselves

obviously u can be normal height tho and still be filthy rich. pun intended

So I’ve been rewatching the horse show recently for nostalgia and now I’m jumping on the band wagon of redesigning the mane 6. I wanna challenge myself to make them all different pony types tho!

Here’s some info about Twilight!

She’s an Earth Pony from Canterlot, who came from a normal family, but grew up surrounded by Unicorns and magic and such

She realises that friendship is the greatest magic of all and all that shit, and using her element she can harness it

Celestia shows up after nightmare moon was defeated and takes twilight on as her pupil, having her stay in ponyville to study friendship magic

After she becomes Celestias pupil she finally gets her cutie mark :)) (the one in the drawings is not final lol)

Awase - he loves watching you talk about whatever random thing you thought of. Hes paying attention but hes not comprehending a single word you say. He just kinda listens with a stupid smile on his face.

Sen - he looks kinda unenthused and bored when your going on a little rant about who knows what but if you stop talking he immediately asks for you to continue so he can just silently listen to you.

Kamakiri - it depends on what youre currently ranting about. If hes interested he joins in the convo and genuinely listens, if not he just kinda lets you talk at him for a while lmao

Kuroiro - he would probably write some emo ass poetry or something about it. He listens well though and if you spend a while talking about a certain thing he will look up a few things about it so he can understand better.

Kendo - she always talks with you about whatever your ranting about. She asks questions, says her thoughts, ect. But if shes tired or something she will just listen and nod instead.

Kodai - ya know how when people want you to stop talking they'll kinda just say yea and okay without anything else. Shes like that, she doesn't want to stop talking, she actually genuinely enjoys listening to you, that is just her conversation default. (Shes trying lmao)

Komori - i like to think Komori is the same way when it comes to things shes interested in. You both take turns ranting and talking to eachother about random things.

Shiozaki - she likes listening to you ramble as she does simple everyday tasks. You both end up walking around the dorms having conversations about who knows what while she does laundry or makes a snack or something yk.

Shishida - everytime you start to ramble about something you both somehow end up in the common rooms or to the side with tea in hand. He simply keeps the conversation going while walking you to the side and making tea, he only does this cuz it helps him pay attention better.

Shoda - he will try his best to stay active in the conversation but thats a little challenging considering his more shy nature. Thats why hes so glad youre so social compared to him.

Pony - she finds your little rambles adorable and is always happy to listen to whatever is on your mind. If you have a bad tendency to jump around she helps you keep focused on one thought at a time as well.

Tsubaraba - he never knows what your gonna rant about next so he made a little game for himself. Every time your about to start ranting he will guess what its about in his head and somehow hes always wrong lmao, he loves listening to you tho

Tetsutetsu - not only does he actively ask questions and keep your tangent going but he matches your excitement when you ramble.

Tokage - she matches your excitement when you ramble about who knows what and shes constantly asking questions and having dramatic reactions to each word you say.

Manga - he loves listening to you ramble while drawing. Hes good at multitasking in that way so he will keep your rant going by asking questions and stuff while doodling

Honenuki - he loves to just listen to you rant while you both share a snack. He will ask a question or two every now and then but most of the time he prefers to just listen to you.

Bondo - hes good at listening but thats about it. He doesn't ask very many questions or says his opinion or anything. And he doesn't do anything exsept sit there and listen when you speak.

Monoma - he teases the shit out of you and acts annoyed almost when youre about to start ranting but then he gets upset when you stop telling him your random thoughts and stories.

Reiko - she likes to silently listen to your rambles while keeping to herself. She finds it strangely calming. It gets to the point where she will find you and ask you to talk about whatever is on your mind when shes stressed.

Rin - whenever you rant about something he will research a ton of stuff over it just so he can understand it more the next time you talk about it. However most of the time the topic is brought up again unless someone else brings it up lol.

This is probably really strange but as a Jason fan I find myself thinking about Jason’s taste in literature quite often as I enjoy that being an area of interest for him, but I find what’s been presented in canon to be lacking in terms of thematic relevance. Anyways, one example that I think about a lot is that like baby!Jay would probably love The Outsiders & like how any emotional tie to the novel would get like more & more complex as time progresses & then I go a little insane. Like Ponyboy is someone that baby!Jay would probably relate to a lot & also draw like a very sweet sense of hope from, & I think that, especially after Gloria, he’d see himself a lot in Johnny. However, I think that the character who would be like most meaningful to him overtime would be Dally. Like I genuinely think RH!Jason would have a hard time reading Dally’s part of the story particularly & feel a sense of kinship w him a lot. Also post-resurrection Jason would not be able to read the death scenes like they would fuck w him too much. & also just the comparisons that can be made between Darry, Soda, & Pony + Bruce, Dick, & Jason. Sorry this is long, my rambling got away from me. I guess my point is that there a lot more interesting ways to explore Jason connecting with literature than just using Austen.

i AGREEEE like i said as much on twt but in what way is jason going to connect to women in victorian england looking to secure themselves financially via marriage. what is that going to do for him in any capacity. not that you can only read books if they "do" something for you but i just feel like austen wouldn't interest him as much as people suggest she would and that people are choosing her more for the fact that she's famous and popular and a mainstream feminist favorite or whatever (i know him reading p&p showed up in canon but i just mean the headcanon extension of him loving austen as a whole). i so agree with him having an interest in the outsiders tho like granted it has been nearly a decade since i last read it so my memories of the plot are Very hazy or almost nonexistent but i absolutely feel like he would relate to them and their struggles and gosh with the ponyboy and johnny comparisons esp [cries] this may prompt me to reread it actually or maybe at least rewatch the film (funnily enough my personal fc for jason is 80s era ralph macchio lmao) i can't believe i read and watched it in eighth grade i feel so oldjfkljldkhd
