Ruthless Vows

Rebecca Ross never fails me, but I do have to admit that I enjoyed her Elements of Cadence duology more, nothing bad with Letters of Enchantment, but it is a romance in every sense of the word, I knew that, but maybe I wasn’t into it at the time so I didn’t enjoy it quite as much, I guess I missed the folkloric vibes and I would’ve enjoyed it much more if the gods aspect of the story took more of the central roles, but I understand why it didn’t.

That being said, it’s a good book, starts slow after the cliffhanger of the first one, but when it picks up, it has you entranced and you won’t be able to put it down, Ross is very good at writing tension and she knows how to keep that beat flowing to keep you in the moment, and the release of tension is usually very satisfying, that’s something I really enjoy of her writing. If you’re think about reading it, do give it a try, it is worth the read.

Beautiful World, Where Are You

I don’t see enough people talking about this Sally Rooney book and I think it’s her best one, the way she connects friendship and love, how the complexity of being human makes us worry and love people close to us even though we know there’s more important things in the world, but these things and these people are important to us, and isn’t that enough??

A lovely book that I always remember fondly and that I want everyone to read asap.
