So how did we end up abroad? The two week holiday was planned a while back with Tomarang being their perfect place to visit. Jayleen's dad is of Filipino descent (while her mum is of Hawaiian) but she has never visited before! The morning after arrival, Robbie woke up with a lot on his mind and was struggling to push his thoughts aside. Jayleen knew he was thinking about work, so she wanted to cheer him up with a kiss. Even though Robbie was embarrassed by the attention, it did bring a smile to his face 😊

Postcards for Palestine

I have been in touch with Ahmed (24) who is desperately seeking help to feed his family in Gaza and pay to continue his education through online courses.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of many donors his campaign has raised enough to cover the €180 out of €200 for the first installment due by December 22nd (the full amount raised is split between covering the cost of his education and feeding his family)! However, he is still missing the remaining €20 for the first installment and the €250 needed for the second installment due in January. Without this money, he will not be able to continue his education, which is a great source of stress for him.

In an effort to support Ahmed’s fundraiser, I will be offering to send these special postcards I collected while living in Japan to anyone who donates €5 or more to his campaign. “seungie~” you drawl on, excitedly hopping into your boyfriend’s room. 

he hums in response, eyes still focused on the screen in front of him. you pay no heed to him, instead plopping down on his plush bed. however, in your hands lies a precious item. 

“i finally got your new album!” 

this time heeseung turns to look at you, amused at your excitement. he cocks an eyebrow, “oh really?”

you nod vigorously, hands scratching at the plastic wrap. 

“i wanted to open it with you.” 

he chuckles, “i hope you like it.” 

“of course i’m gonna like you,” you roll your eyes while taking off the cover. nothing beat the smell and feel of a fresh album—especially your boyfriend’s, at that. 

heeseung’s attention returns to his game as you flip through the photobook, occasionally letting out sounds of approval and awe. 

it’s not until you dramatically clap a hand over your mouth that heeseung finally stops his game. 

“there’s no freaking way.” 

even though your voice is muffled, heeseung can hear the evident shock. he immediately takes off his headphones, controller falling to the floor. 

“what? baby, what is it?” 

you look up—was that tears in your eyes?—before scrambling off the bed. 

his eyes narrow before they focus in on what was in your hand. 

“is that-“

“i got jungwon’s photocard!” you dance around the room, happiness clearly present on your face and by your actions. 

your boyfriend (not jungwon) is left speechless. 

it’s been five minutes and you haven’t stopped staring at the photocard.  

“i think i’m gonna put it in the back of my phone case…”

“baby?”

“or should i just leave it-“

“baby!” 

heeseung’s voice startles you. he usually never raised his voice. 

“yeah?” 

he pinches his nose bridge in disbelief before speaking up, “are you serious?”

you look at him straight in the eyes, “uh, yeah. why?” 

heeseung lets out a deep sigh like he’s been at sea for 40 years. “you’re that happy that you got a jungwon photocard?”

you look at him sheepishly, “if it makes you feel any better, i got your postcard?” 

he can only blink. and then laugh at the situation, shaking his head. whatever made you happy, he supposed. 

your boyfriend gets up to kiss your forehead. “fine. congrats on pulling jungwon, i guess. as long as he doesn’t replace me in real life.” 

you scoff, “as if. i got the real deal—the whole package! you’re way better than the blurry half-face selfies you post in bed for the fans.” 

heeseung bursts out laughing, staring at you fondly. “i’ll take that as a compliment.” 

you place a small peck on his shoulder, “good. because i lied.”

heeseung frowns, “what?” 

“i got jake’s postcard, not yours...”

it is so very Dustin to assess the quality of What Gets Him, like “Jesus Christ, why don’t I have standards. Look, I could break this shitty thing with, like, one awkward bounce.”

Eddie, who’s had no idea what scene they’re on for the past ten minutes, says wisely, “Why don’t we just step on them?”

(They don’t of course, because deliberately breaking props is, for once, too heretical. Chris may or may not have overheard some of this, had no idea what was going on but was typically concerned; he “drops” his candle so the light gets fainter and swaps it with Dustin’s. ❤️)

oh the playbills is so precious 🥹 dying at the weird postcards, Raph definitely sends those like weird Victorian Christmas cards when it’s not even Christmas.

“What the fuck does this mean?” Eddie thinks each time. He never finds out.

you’ve got me thinking again about theatre kid Dustin and Jesus Christ Superstar, specifically tech week where Dustin’s randomly hit over the head by the fact that oh, those shitty plastic “candles” Raph wanted them to use for some night-time scenes emit this ghostly blue light that now that he’s thinking about it, reminds him of Something Else Actually. Which he thinks is stupid, because the running joke is that their props budget is very much limited, none of it deserves to have such a profound effect on him obviously, but now that he’s made the association, now that he can see Eddie’s face dimly lit… it all feels a bit too close to everything. Cue nearly silent panic attack in the wings (which Eddie takes notice of eventually and absolutely stops the rehearsal in its tracks to make sure he’s okay.)

(oh i can’t just leave it on a sad note so please also know that i can’t help but imagine Raphael and Chris sending Eddie joint Christmas cards and/or birthday cards long after the production’s over. One of them Eddie knows with certainty that Raphael picked because the front is a print of Da Vinci’s the last supper. Eddie pretends to not find it funny.) ❤️

AUGH oh no poor Dustin. I can also see him being so annoyed because these stupid candles were two dollars at Party Planet why is THIS the thing that gets him??? And Eddie totally misses a cue because he's backstage talking him through :') The OCs I tend to create in fandom always exist on the periphery of the main cast and plot but show up every so often to be nice to the characters I like and then leave lol. So of course I love the idea of Raph and Chris keeping in touch with Eddie even after the production wraps. (Or in Raph's case, he is politely asked never to return.) Chris sends Eddie playbills from all the productions he does across the country, and Raph sends him the absolute weirdest postcards he can find.
