*낭만 is not romance in the sense of romantic love, but rather romantic as in ideal, dreamy. It's an aesthetic. This is the dictionary's explanation: 현실에 매이지 않고 감정적이고 이상적으로 사물을 대하는 심리 상태. 또는 그러한 분위기. A psychological state that describes things emotionally and ideally without being tied to reality, or such an atmosphere.

I believe the show translates it as youth, and I understand why that choice was made. They're not saying it's "youth" but it holds resemblance to that idealization of what a summer is when you're young. 'Forever young' and HYYH vibes, if you know what I mean. Very difficult word to translate!!

begins ≠ youth feels so personal as an army and i'll tell you why. i started watching the drama without any expectations - expectations in the sense of correlating the seven boys with bangtan. i repeatedly told myself that the tannies and the seven boys on the show are 14 different entities, and i should not be correlating their existence, and that this drama was just inspired by the hyyh webtoon. however, 15 minutes into the first episodes, my plan went awry. the resemblance was too uncanny to ignore - dogeun's butterfingers and intelligence, cein's poker face and language of existential crisis, hosu's cheerful face inspite of being hurt, jeha's immaturity and fun nature, haru's attachment with hosu and annoyance towards jeha treating him as if they were the same age, jooan's tendency to lurk around dogeun and team up with jeha to annoy haru and lastly hwan's maturity, and ability to take care of all six of them as the eldest. and i think if you've read till here you understood which character is correlated with which bangtan member. doesn't it feels personal? it does indeed, the fact that at a glance i could understand the dynamic, just through the actions. yes, it did make me miss them much much more than i already do, but it made me miss them a little less as well, and i really hope this drama receives the recognition it deserves, as a reward for the continuous controversy it had been facing since it's announcement.
