The Baby Reindeer defamation lawsuit is wild to me. I hope she gets her coin bc there is no excuse for this. The fact people were able to identify her irl and track her down is horrifying, in addition to those people being fueled by lies including one of which being that it was portrayed as a true story when it apparently was not as admitted by netflix.

Furthermore, clearly, they did not clear the production with her which iirc you do need to get permission from people you fukin write about, no? Otherwise, this is exactly what can happen?

lmao i had to research about Kanpo herbs and treatments for Akai Hono T-T and im literally always researching how far cities are from each other, and as much as possible i try to keep my fics true to their japanese heritage, like i ahd to research japansee drinking games for love galore

Kurobas Stage Live - OVER-DRIVE (live-viewing)

Attended the national live-viewing event of the 2nd stage play [ Kuroko no Basuke: Over-Drive ] in Kanazawa (I live in Ishikawa Prefecture) on 17th July.

The second stage live was such a huge improvement from the first live, we even had a revolving stage which was a very nice touch visually! The acting and basketball stunts also improved visually! Lots of acrobatic movements and lighting/sound-effects to accompany the match. 

The plot revolved around 4 arcs - 

1) Sports camp! Kuroko’s bedhead was sooooooooo adorable! 

2) The match between Kaijou High and Tōō Academy (Kise vs. Kagami) for the Winter Cup semi-finals. Seeing Kise and Kasamatsu cry on-stage after they lost their match....god, the feels. The girl beside me started sobbing in her seat. 

3) A recap of how the Seirin basketball team was formed (yes, we get to see Hyuuga in blonde hair hyukhyukhyuk), and introduction of Teppei KIyoshi.   KUROKO ALSO USED TWO INDEX FINGERS TO POKE KAGAMI’S NIPPLES. KAGAMI SMACKED HIM OVER THE HEAD LMAOOOOO

4) The match between Kirisaki Daiichi High and Seirin High.

I want to give a shout-out to Ota Motohito (who played Makoto Hanamiya)! He was so fabulous that he actually stole the lime-light of the main cast! He was insane, and the amount of facial expressions he makes in-character was amazing! 

There are a lot of puns and jokes made during the show, unfortunately my Japanese level is not that high and I could only understand half of the jokes/puns by Izuki (they are pretty funny though!). The sumimasen guy (Sakurai) was so adorable, there was a scene where his team (Aomine and gang) told him off to stop saying so many sumimasens while Momoi was taking an important call. Momoi screeched at them to shut it, and all of them said sumimasen with a 90-degree bow. That scene was too precious! 

I love how some actors ad-libbed on-stage to include us live-viewing audience. One memorable one was the warning to the theater audience about stray basketballs flying off-stage. He continued to add that us live-viewing audience need not worry, we are very safe from where we are! 

I also remember the actor for Kagami calling for a 20-minute intermission break, and Kuroko stepping in to do a janken (rock, paper, scissors) bet. If Kuroko wins, the break will be an hour-long instead. Cue laughter from the audience! Thankfully Kagami won so we all got a 20-minute break instead! 

Ono Kensho also did some (bad) basketball moves in tune with his character - by that I mean lousy dribbling, poor shooting - during his solo practice sessions. However there was once he actually scored a hoop and the audience cheered for him! I think Ono Kensho didn’t plan to score a hoop! So adorable! He even did a secret fist-pump to himself! He really is Kuroko in the flesh! 

As the live-viewing also marked the final performance of the stage live, the cast did 4 curtain calls! I love how some of them waved to the live-viewing camera! We also got a special fist-bump from KagaKuro towards our live-viewing camera! It was so sweet! 

I was quite meh about the first play but the second one improved really much! Ono Kensho (playing Kuroko) mentioned that he really loves his character from the bottom of his heart, and hope the stage live can continue on (pretty sure it will, we still have a few more matches to cover for the Winter Cup). 

I hope I will still be in Japan when the next play is announced!
