More you try to fight your anxiety or more you fear it the worse it becomes. Also if you ignore it, you will find it will just shout louder. Meditation or self hypnosis are good tips to learn to help deal with Anxiety. Anxiety is an emotion and it’s best to listen to it. Go with it and listen to what it’s trying to tell you. If it’s a negative thought serving no purpose then tell yourself that and let yourself know why it’s not serving you a purpose. Then let that thought know your going to let that negative thought go. Let unhelpful negative thoughts go by using relaxation techniques. Just relax and deeply breathe and let it float away. Imagine your watching it float away on a cloud or in a balloon feel yourself blow it out of you. If you hold anxiety feelings in your chest for example. Use your imagination and turn it into fog and blow it out your chest into your throat then out into the atmosphere and watch it disappear as you breathe out and blow. Each breathe you see it shrinking and floating away like a cloud. Tell yourself you feel calm relaxed and say I” I am ok” I feel good” feel your mind with a positive affirmation like the ones I’ve been posting I.e “Anxiety does not define me”. So don’t fight your anxious thoughts acknowledge them then if the thought is not serving a purpose then let float away. If it’s a thought that needs attention then deal with the issue rather than ignore it. If it’s not in your CONTROl then again let it go!! I know this might sound easier than it actually is, if you are suffering from deep depression and anxiety issues. More so if your feeling life is throwing curveballs at you without stopping and you may be struggling to stay above water. When you are consumed by stressful negative thoughts, you may find yourself dwelling on what has happened. It over takes your thinking so much you leave no room for anything els. In fact your not even trying to think of anything else because your negative stress has overtook your thought process. However rest assured you are in CONTROL of your thoughts and here is some tips to switch your thinking. * use Affirmations *keep a gratitude journal * Focus on your strengths * meditation * yoga * surround yourself with positive people * change negative thoughts to positive * don’t play the victim take responsibility * help someone else *sing *remember no one is perfect learn from mistakes and move forward * oh and smile it really helps change your mood and relieve stress. Plus guess what it takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown. 😁 Remember your negative thoughts are just thoughts, it does not mean they are true. I’m not saying to ignore them just acknowledge them but only give them the attention they deserve.
