For some reason, Thrawn's statement to Morgan Elsbeth about being bested by a single Jedi, followed up by his rather determinedly sinister "Never again," always makes me think about how awkward the trip from Lothal to Peridea must have been.
I mean, imagine: we have Ezra literally holding the crippled Star Destroyer together through sheer Force of will, Thrawn tied up with the purrgils, troopers finally getting through to the bridge and either realizing or being told that they can't attack Ezra because if he dies they all die...
Ezra was DEFINITELY whistling or cracking jokes to pass the time despite having been shot, completely ignoring the death glares Thrawn had to have been giving him the entire trip... And I can only imagine that the troopers were either super confused or wondering if they dare ask when they can take their lunch break.
"Never again," indeed 😂

Something about Aftermath that I really love no matter how many times I rewatch it (or the series as a whole lol) is that extremely hopeful and excited feeling in the last scene. It’s nothing but potential, open roads and open skies. They can go anywhere, do anything, be anything. I know pretty much everything that happens after they shoot off into hyperspace by heart now, they’re going to face so much hardship and tragedy alongside all the good things, but that hopeful feeling never fades whenever I watch the stars in Omega’s eyes. The creators really make you feel everything she’s feeling about this new adventure.
Like they fucking nailed it.
#it just makes me Feel Things#the bad batch#star wars#tbb omega#clone force 99#aftermath#really wish we’d seen her face when she made the jump to hyperspace in the epilogue#it would’ve been a cool full circle moment#like it already was with her going off on another adventure to the next part of her life#but like they could’ve completely full sended it#i digress#anyway i really love that scene and the epilogue we got#i just—ahhhhhhh this show man

Absolutely love your take on the Din's helmet thing and other Mando-related stuff. You really get it! You are the only one that gets to do Mando characters from now on they need to let you work on this show now!
lmaooo you are too kind anon but listen, I don't know much about Mandalorians, and not much about SW in general. My knowledge about them comes from TCW and Rebels, and reading Wookieepedia and other SW blogs lmao. There are other Mando enthusiasts that know more about this than I do so I wouldn't dare claim that honor for myself haha. But design characters for their animated show howeverrrr... 👀 *cough* Disney and Lucas Animation you alr have my resume and my portfolio *cough*
#Anonymous#im not interested in working on their live action stuff but i desperately wanna work on one of the animated shows#esp that Young Jedi Adventures show#ppl maybe surprised cos of my art style but i have a few years working on preschool animation stuff#and that Jedi show has everything i wanted to give to the shows i worked on but couldn't :')#yapping in hyperspace

It's weird when I have a whole thing planned out in a game, and one decision ends up moving the plot forward to an entirely new location instead of leaving me where I am so I can finish my plan. Like, I want to enjoy the story! But I also wanted to do something else first, and it's holding back my enjoyment a bit.
#Alright now we're gonna do some things in orbit#Wait I think I have to do the main mission before I'm allowed in space again#-Entire fun adventure later-#What do you mean I have no choice but to jump to hyperspace?#Star Wars Outlaws

Crash and Conquer
A Feyd-Rautha Choose Your Own Adventure - part 1
Summary: Feyd-Rautha’s ship crash lands near you, and you feel responsible to care for him as he struggles to regain his memory and heal from his injuries. When his past starts to close in, you’re left to wonder just how far for you will go for this volatile man you’ve fallen for.

You get to decide which way we are going for part 2. Poll (1 day) for part 2 below
The na-Baron Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen did not care for most people, and reserved an especial hatred towards the fish-like Guild Navigator employed by his uncle. Feyd boarded the massive ship, weaving through the interlocking corridors with ease. He braced himself for the ghastly sight of the Navigator encaged in the glass — the water supporting his frail body resembled the color of phlegm. Feyd's upper lip pulled back in a snarl.
"What an honor, escorting the na-Baron," the fish-like man gurgled.
"Flattery will get you nowhere," Feyd sneered.
He didn't even want to take this trip, but he was on business to deliver a message personally to a foreign ambassador. Feyd sat down in the atrium where the Guild Navigator dwelled, his fingers itching for something to do. He could go anywhere in the ship, but the lack of control in the journey bothered him, so he took to staying with the Navigator despite his searing hatred.
Admittedly, he was fascinated by the process of long-distance space travel. Feyd happened to be an exceptional pilot. Of thopters, that is. Only Guild Navigators — pumped full of spice — had the ability to bend space and time.
Feyd had another reason to linger near the Navigator. He spoke in a sharp tone, as to not invite any discourse. "We will make an additional stop."
The Navigator's bulbous eyes rolled in their sockets to address him. It was nearly impossible to discern what the creature was thinking.
"Under whose orders?"
"Mine."
The Navigator opened his fishy mouth to say something, then must've thought better. "Where would you like to go?"
"Lankiveil." Feyd lowered his chin and glowered, daring his uncle's employee to object.
"Hm." The Navigator regarded him curiously. "And when we return later than expected, shall I tell your uncle about this...visit?"
Feyd replied, "It doesn't concern him."
Both of them — both man and creature — held their gaze. After an uncomfortable period, the Navigator silently relented. Feyd didn't feel assured about the victory, however, and kept a careful watch out of the port window as the ship launched into hyperspace some time later. He might not have known how to navigate through space but he had studied maps, and he would know if the Navigator chose to ignore his request.
Lights blurred past the window, thousands and thousands of stars all bending to the power of the Navigator. It dizzied him, but he stared ahead. Feyd felt no other effects. He might as well have been back in his room on solid ground.
That's why, when the ship gave a sudden lurch, a surprised growl tore through his chest. Feyd shot to his feet, ready to lash out at the Navigator, the words sharp on his tongue, but found his companion flailing in his tank.
The creature scratched and clawed at the glass of the tank, mouth open in a silent scream. Feyd, trained to quickly assess any situation, quickly noted that a black liquid had started suffusing through the tank like poison, and the creature recoiled away as it spread. Seized with alarm, Feyd evaluated his choices as he strode across the room towards the tank — did he dare try to wrench the creature free? Would it even survive?
Feyd didn't care about the life of the Navigator, it was one of many, a grain of sand on a vast beach. Except his life was in danger, for surely if the pilot of the ship perished, then it would crash.
The Navigator wailed in his tank, streaks of bubbles leaking from its mouth and popping on the tumultuous surface. Feyd pounded a hand angrily on the glass. The black liquid nearly filled all of the tank and at last reached the creature.
Horror yawned in Feyd as the creature writhed and spasmed, any efforts of preservation whisked away by the liquid stealing into its lungs. As if in reply, the ship rocked and lurched again. If it wasn't for his white-knuckle grip on the tank, Feyd would've been thrown to the side — liquid sloshed over the edge, burning into the exposed skin of his wrist. Hissing, Feyd let go, stumbling as the ship listed to one side.
There was no wheel to grab, nothing to save them now that the Navigator had been sabotaged.
"na-Baron," a breathless guard flew into the room, eyes widened. "There's been an attack on the ship —"
"I'm aware," Feyd growled out at the same time the guard noticed the crumpled form of the Navigator at the bottom of the tank. Fear showed on the guard's face. Feyd shoved the guard. "Don't just stand there like a damn fool."
It stood to show how terrified his guard was not to be daunted by his tone. "What-What do we do? The ship is going to crash!"
"Then prepare for impact."
With a cursory look over his shoulder, Feyd followed the guard back into the enemy of the ship. Emergency lights flashed on and off in a blinding display, accompanied by the loud shriek of a siren. "Do you know who's attacking?" Feyd asked, shouting to be heard.
Anger coiled inside him, an insatiable serpent.
Before the guard could reply, the ship gave one last jolt and then spiraled into what was decisively a downward trajectory. Pain exploded in Feyd's shoulder as he slammed into the wall, then fell to the floor, gravity pulling him down. They were nowhere near an escape pod or a protective bay. Fighting every instinct not to die lying down, Feyd curled into a ball, doing the best he could to pull his knees to his chest in his armor.
Heat blazed through the ship. It must've caught on fire. Sweat covered his brow, and yet Feyd stayed curled to himself, unaware if the guard was doing the same or where he had gone.
He couldn't die.
He refused to die.
It was the last thought in his mind before the ship exploded around him and everything went dark.

STAR WARS PREQUELS - A TIMELINE
So, what's this about, huh? After recently sitting down with Star Wars Timelines, I was genuinely surprised at just how much they were willing to nail down to a specific year and sequence of events, which admittedly is a reference book and those are pretty low on the canon totem pole so be prepared for future retcons down the road, but it's shockingly useful information to have! Because the more I paged through it, the more I realized just how useful it would be for fic writers, especially for anything that might be referenced by a prequels character. Do you want to know how old the Jedi Order basically is? What the eras were called, if a prequels character wanted to reference them? What year did Dooku leave the Jedi? When did Naboo join the Republic? When was the Republic founded? When was the Jedi Temple built? When was Yaddle born? When did the Togruta ally with the Republic? Was Anakin born on Tatooine? When did Plo discover Ahsoka? When did Anakin get his first kyber crystal? When did Obi-Wan join the Jedi Council? WHEN DOES THE MANDALORIAN CIVIL WAR TAKE PLACE?? Some of this is SO INTERESTING to have nailed down into place--like just how old Huyang is or that the Jedi Temple was constructed on Coruscant BEFORE the Republic existed! Useful for me to know, but also my prequels-era characters to know! This book is willing to tell us A LOT and I collated everything I thought would be useful for a prequels character to know! ERAS:
c.5,000 BBY– 1,032 BBY: Ancient conflicts "The Jedi and Sith wage a series of wars throughout their history so ruinous that at points each is brought to the brink of destruction."
c.500 BBY–330 BBY: "The Age of Exploration" "After centuries of governing in regions near the galactic Core, the Republic sets out to explore the Outer Rim. This era of exploration on the frontier presents many adventures and opportunities for the Republic and the Jedi Order alike, but growth also leads them to uncover new mysteries and dangers. Soon the Jedi Order’s very connection to the Force is put to the test."
c.500 BBY–100 BBY: "The High Republic" The four hundred years that are collectively referred to as the High Republic era.
TIMELINE:
c.25,025 BBY: BIRTH OF THE JEDI
"The Jedi Order is founded. Among the earliest locations, and likely the first, is a temple constructed on the planet of Ahch-To. Later, the temple retains the most treasured Jedi texts and earliest writings on the Order’s faith. For eons, these noble protectors stand united by their ability to harness the power of the Force itself for good."
c.25,020 BBY: Professor Huyang powered up "The architect droid Professor Huyang begins training Jedi younglings in the delicate art of lightsaber construction."
c.20,000 BBY: Dawn of the Republic
"The foundation of the Republic is formed through an alliance including Coruscant, Corellia, and Alderaan, prompted by the dawn of hyperspace travel."
c.5,000 BBY: Creeping darkness
"A dark-side sect splinters from the Jedi, causing the formation of the Sith. This fracture is the genesis of a millennia-long rivalry."
c.5,000 BBY–1,032 BBY: "The Sith battle the Jedi in numerous conflicts for thousands of years before their struggle comes to an end, resulting in the destruction of the Sith Empire."
c.5,000 BBY–1,032 BBY: "The Sith build shrines on planets, including Malachor and Moraband. They covet these locations for their connection to the dark side of the Force."
c.1,050 BBY: A Mandalorian Jedi
"Tarre Vizsla becomes the first of the Mandalorian warriors to be inducted as a member of the Jedi Order. The unique lightsaber he constructs comes to be known as the Darksaber, later stolen to be used as a symbol to unite his planet."
c.1,032 BBY: Coruscant Temple erected
"The main Jedi Temple on Coruscant is constructed at the same location where there was once a Sith shrine."
c.1,032 BBY: "Darth Bane, the last surviving Sith, recognizes that infighting and back-stabbing ultimately led to the downfall of the Sith Empire. He declares the Rule of Two, whereby there can only be a sole master and single apprentice of the Sith. The practice safeguards the inherently selfish Order from self-destruction, thus ensuring the survival of the Sith for centuries to come."
1,000 BBY: Reformation of the Republic
"The first incarnation of the democratic alliance of planets, the Galactic Republic, is reformed."
c.972 BBY: Rules of war
"The Galactic Accord of Systems establishes a set of rules of engagement, in the event another war should break out."
896 BBY: Yoda is born
"The future Jedi Master Yoda is born."
832 BBY: Construction of Theed
"Naboo’s capital city, Theed, is built. The floating city on the banks of the river Solleu becomes the jewel of the metropolis."
867 BBY: Naboo joins the Republic
"The planet of Naboo officially joins the Galactic Republic. The event will be commemorated annually with The Festival of Light."
796 BBY: Students of Yoda
"Master Yoda begins training Jedi. He will maintain this regular practice, teaching the newest members of the Order, for about 800 years."
600 BBY:
Jabba Desilijic Tiure is born.
509 BBY:
Yaddle is born.
c.392 BBY: PATHFINDERS
"The Republic and the Jedi establish Pathfinder teams to explore new hyperspace lanes in the farthest reaches of the galaxy. A team of Pathfinders typically includes two Jedi, a master and their apprentice, who work together with their Republic allies to discover new ways through dangerous and unexplored places. They work with communications teams who lay the groundwork for the infrastructure needed for Republic growth. In return for their efforts, the Jedi Order hopes to gain new understanding of the galaxy, new cultures, and the Force."
c.383 BBY: THE HYPERSPACE RUSH
"Independent explorers also race to discover new paths through hyperspace. These prospectors risk their lives in perilous, uncharted corners of the Outer Rim, hoping to find safer, shorter routes. Families like the Grafs and San Tekkas earn great fame and fortune by selling their knowledge of these new hyperlanes."
382 BB The First High Republic book of Phase II
The High Republic: Path of Deceit kicks off the second phase of books, set 150 years before the previous phase.
382 BBY: Battle of Jedha
"The Path of the Open Hand instigates a battle on the sacred moon of Jedha."
232 BBY The First High Republic book of Phase I:
The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, which kicks off the original era of the High Republic (out of universe, not in universe), starting with the Great Hyperspace Disaster where a ship explodes in hyperspace over the planet Hetzal Prime. This ignites an intergalactic conflict with the Nihil that draws the Jedi and the Republic into a massive connected, long-running series of battles against them.
232 BBY:
"Dignitaries and Jedi gather at the Starlight Beacon for its official dedication ceremony."
The Great Hyperspace Disaster (the Legacy Run explodes in hyperspace) happens and the Jedi rush to help mitigate the disaster and evacuate as many people as they can.
"The brave deeds of the Jedi Order [in the Great Hyperspace Disaster] are cast across the galaxy via holotransmissions, making Kriss and her fellow Jedi heroes."
The Emergences: "Though Hetzal has been saved by the heroics of the Jedi, fragments of the Legacy Run continue to threaten the frontier. Fear grips the Outer Rim as blazing wreckage of the ship appears with little warning from hyperspace. As the Republic seeks answers to these Emergences, a group of Jedi stranded in a forgotten corner of space unknowingly cause a far older and more sinister threat to emerge: the Drengir."
"Wreckage from the Legacy Run scatters through hyperspace, endangering the Outer Rim. The first of the Emergences after the Great Hyperspace disaster occurs at Ab Dalis, killing 20 million beings."
"The Nihil strike on Elphrona, intending to ransom well-connected homesteaders and capture a Jedi for Marchion Ro’s evil machinations."
"The Jedi Council votes to join the Republic against the Nihil."
232 BBY: A BEACON OF HOPE
"With the Great Disaster behind them, the Republic and Jedi refocus on the opening of the Starlight Beacon. This towering space station located in the Outer Rim is one of Chancellor Lina Soh’s Great Works, meant to provide a symbol of hope in a dark corner of the galaxy. This shining example of Republic unity and progress serves as a vital base for the ongoing struggles with the Nihil and Drengir."
"One of Chancellor Lina Soh’s Great Works, the Starlight Beacon, begins operation after a dedication ceremony attended by Republic dignitaries and prominent members of the Jedi Order. The station is to be just one of many beacons, serving to connect, inspire, and serve the Republic’s growth in the Galactic Frontier. The Jedi maintain a permanent presence on the station under the leadership of Marshal Kriss and the watchful eye of the exacting Jedi Master Estala Maru."
"Hunting the Nihil - Though it lacks a formal military, the Republic forms a special task force to hunt the Nihil, with Joss and Pikka Adren among the first volunteers."
"The Jedi broker the Ayelina-Ludmere trade agreement."
232 BBY: GROWTH OF THE DRENGIR
"The carnivorous Drengir take root across wide swaths of the frontier. Their lust for living flesh, which they consider “meats,” leads them to attack hundreds of worlds. Defenseless settlers and the Jedi alike struggle to repel these horrifying plantlike creatures."
231 BBY: THE REPUBLIC FAIR
"Chancellor Lina Soh’s next Great Work is a magnificent fair on Valo. Meant to celebrate the Republic and its many achievements, the event turns into a tragedy. The Nihil mount a merciless raid on the fairgoers, destroy the event, and nearly kill the chancellor. The Jedi defenders mount a valiant defense but are outnumbered."
231 BBY: FIGHT FOR THE FRONTIER
"The Jedi march across the frontier as they seek justice for the attack on the Valo fair. With the Drengir threat seemingly settled, they turn their attention to the scattered Nihil forces. The Jedi believe that they are gaining the upper hand, but are unaware of who leads the raiders and their ultimate goal. The Nihil Tempest Runners bear the brunt of the assault while the Eye of the Nihil, Marchion Ro, prepares a new weapon to fight the Jedi."
"The Republic-Togruta Alliance is formed."
230 BBY: FALL OF STARLIGHT
"The Nameless wreak havoc among the Jedi, who fight valiantly in Starlight’s final moments. Master Estala Maru sacrifices his own life to delay the top half of the station from burning up in Eiram’s atmosphere. Below, Master Stellan Gios stays behind to ensure the lower portion will not strike a populated city on the planet’s surface."
"The Jedi recall their members to safety on Coruscant."
"The Republic readies a Defense Coalition fleet to strike at Nihil space. The Jedi, concerned that they cannot yet combat the Nameless, remain on Coruscant."

While Maul wreaks havoc aboard the Tribunal, Ahsoka activates a trio of astromechs to help her evade Rex’s troops. Ahsoka locates Fives’ records, learning what happened to him and that Rex suspected the clones’ inhibitor chips have some ulterior purpose. Ahsoka subdues Rex and removes his inhibitor chip. Maul destroys the Tribunal’s hyperdrive, sending the doomed Jedi Cruiser careening toward the surface of a remote moon."
"Bail Organa arrives at the Jedi Temple to investigate the uprising and is confronted by clone troopers. He retreats under fire."
"Anakin, now known as Darth Vader and backed by the 501st Legion, marches on the Jedi Temple and slaughters its defenders. As his rage and lust for power swell, not even younglings hiding in the Jedi Council chambers are safe from his lightsaber. Sidious senses his new apprentice is in danger and hurries to Mustafar."
"Anakin is left maimed and burned after dueling Obi-Wan on Mustafar. Obi-Wan takes Anakin’s lightsaber and leaves him to die. Anakin survives and is encased in life-preserving black armor. As Darth Vader, he becomes the subject of rumors as the Emperor’s servant and enforcer"

"The Empire bombards Kamino’s cities, destroying all traces of the cloning program that played a critical role in the Clone Wars."
SOURCES & NOTES:
Star Wars Timelines by Kristin Baver, Jason Fry, Cole Horton, Amy Richau, and Clayton Sandell is the primary source for much of this, anything in quotation marks is sourced from here unless otherwise noted. This timeline is only quoting a small minority of what's available in the book, so it's recommended that you check it out for yourselves!
I have done my best to put everything in order even within the specific years, noting where I'm not 100% sure of the sequence of events.
If a "c.[YEAR]" is included, the spot is estimated, not hard fact, but in general it's a pretty trustworthy placement! Except for birthdays--they're not placed directly on the timeline, so I just kind of threw them in at the end most times.
Observation: Holy crap, the Clone Wars was NUTS.

Luminous Beings - Episode 8: Strange Dreams, Stranger Deceptions
Art by @monologichno || Beta Read by @undead-supernova Part of the @eddiemunsonbigbang
Summary: Eddie embarks on one of the most important steps of his journey. An absolute dream...or is it?
Word Count: 6.5k
Pairing: Eddie Munson x OFC (Thalia Trieste)
Warnings/Themes: Star Wars AU, Fluff, Angst, Humor, Romance, Fluff, Hurt/Comfort, Mention of Alcohol and Substance Use, Minor Canon Inaccuracies/Adaptation, Galactic Politics, Mention of Death, Vague References to Order 66 and the Jedi Purge, Discussion of the Force, Use of Force Abilities, Abstract Spirituality, Light and Dark Sides of the Force, Canon Typical Violence and Injury
Note: Ahhh here we are. Sort of. Second to last chapter. I'm so nervous, so excited for this and what happens in the end. It's been a huge adventure writing this, and these next two chapters in particular. It's always a little emotional when you get near the end. I do have a bit of a deleted scene, not sure if I wanted to share it...maybe over the weekend. It doesn't really add anything but if you ARE a Star Wars person, you might like it.
Luminous Beings Masterlist - Jo-Harrington's Masterlist
Please do not interact if you are not 18+.
Thank you for reading. Enjoy!
Hyperspace, 10BBY
Historically, the crew of the Dragonborn and rules never got along. Unfortunately, they were about to embark on an excursion chock full of rules and customs.
"When we get to the temple, don't touch anything," Thalia explained to everyone as they stuffed supplies into their packs. While the others all nodded intently, Eddie simply had to open his big mouth.
"You sound like my uncle," he complained, earning a scathing glare. "When I was a kid, I used to...never mind, fine."
"And steer clear of any troopers," she continued.
"Got it."
"Because there are a lot of them."
"I said I got it."
"Don't look anyone in the eye."
"Okay."
"And keep your blaster visible at all times."
Everyone looked at her like she'd suddenly grown a second head.
"What?" Eddie scoffed. “You're telling us that we need to be armed on a planet where we might get into trouble if we breathe the wrong way."
"You'd look even more suspicious if you didn't have a blaster," she explained.
"But you never have one," Dayv pointed out.
"I'll be armed another way."
From the depths of her bag, she revealed her lightsaber, causing the guys to scramble to get a glimpse of it. Eddie, of course, had seen glimpses of it in memories through the Force, but he was eager to see it up close. He batted his friends away as all four fought to get to it first.
She passed it around with an eye roll and a laugh before explaining that she made it when she was a youngling. Indeed, it looked like something a child would make, full of the whimsy that only came with a youthful imagination. Concentric and intersecting circles and swirls were etched into the metal of the hilt. But it was patina'd with a mix of rich copper and green from use; beauty that could only be attained by age. It was evidence that the weapon had lived alongside its owner.
They awed over it and held it reverently as it was passed amongst them.
"This is so wizard," Dayv laughed. Eddie sensed a lewd thought going through the younger man's mind and sent a scathing glare his way. Sure, dick jokes were funny, but he doubted Thalia would take kindly to him doing that with her lightsaber.
"It's heavy," G'areth added as it was passed to him. He was clumsy with it, nearly dropping it when he attempted to wave it around. Thalia conspicuously backed away with her hands held out defensively as he carelessly mishandled the weapon.
"It’s not that simple," Thalia explained. "Anyone can have a lightsaber, sure. But using it is another story. It’s heavy in your hand, but when you ignite it, your heart holds all of the strength you need to wield it. It’s not a traditional weapon, which makes it a perfect match for someone attuned to the force."
"Try it Ed," Jeff whispered as he handed the weapon to their fearless leader.
Eddie felt the weight of anticipation fall onto his shoulders as he fully grasped it. For a moment, his self doubt returned, and he hesitated to ignite the weapon. What if he couldn’t do it? What if he didn’t have the strength that Thalia implied?
Not to mention, this lightsaber didn't feel right...it didn’t belong to him.
And that was the reason for this trip, after all.
Thankfully, Benny was the one to put a stop to the turmoil as he shouted from the cockpit.
"Hey!" Everyone jumped at the sound. "We have a rule aboard the Mantis. No lightsabers. Thanks to Miss Not-a-Jedi here. She nearly took one of my arms off in those early days."
"Sorry, Ben," Thalia called back bashfully, trying to hide from the amused stares of the guys. Especially Eddie. "How many times do I have to apologize? I was rusty."
"Rusty, schmusty," Benny scoffed. "You almost took your own eye out! Hey, you guys! Why do you think Thali’s hair is that short? She turned that saber on and a whole hunk of it got shorn off."
Thalia's cheeks glowed with embarrassment as the others laughed at her expense. And Eddie might've pulled her in to press a sympathetic kiss to the side of her head, but he was glad that he was not on the receiving end of a joke like that for once.
“Wait a minute!” G’areth furrowed his brow. “If the empire is hunting Jedi, why are you going to have your lightsaber out all willy nilly. You just said there are gonna be troopers everywhere, right?”
“It's a special planet,” Thalia explained. She took her saber back from Eddie and clipped it to her belt. “The imps have some trouble with the locals, which makes looking for force users a little sticky.”
“This just feels like a trap.”
“What did I say before?” she asked. “About existing right under the empire’s nose?”
“Look how well that worked for us on Coruscant,” Dayv grumbled.
“Everything will be fine,” Thalia insisted. “The Empire would sooner destroy the planet than attempt to get along with the locals. They don’t want an uprising on their hands either, so they’ll intimidate and maybe arrest someone every now and again. But they generally leave everyone alone. That’ll make it easy for us to get by. Get in, get out, like we weren’t there at all. Any questions?”
Her hands were planted firmly on her hips as she glared at the guys.
D5-TN piped up from the charging pad where he and BD-1 sat, and asked if he could hold the lightsaber for Thalia. He suggested hiding her lightsaber in his dome, to be ejected right into her hand if and when she needed it to defend herself. Or attack. BD thought it was ridiculous. The two droids argued, whistling and chirping insults back and forth.
“There will be no…ejecting of lightsabers into the air!” Thalia laughed, putting an end to their argument. When they tried to suggest that she was no fun, she simply rolled her eyes and stalked towards the cockpit.
“That’s a really cool idea, though,” Eddie complimented, earning both enthusiastic and disappointed beeps from the droids. Then, he turned and followed after Thalia.
"Brace yourselves," Benny announced as he got to the cockpit. "We're about to exit hyperspace."
Eddie was not prepared for the veritable blockade that appeared when they dropped out of light speed and the wash of stars pulled away. TIE Fighters and Star Destroyers as far as the eye could see. Shuttles and cargo ships flitted about, both entering and exiting the planet’s atmosphere at regular intervals. It looked like the traffic around a space station, not a planet. Soon enough, they were in the thick of it, joining a long line of ships waiting for their turn to land.
Bob clicked away at his terminal, headset pressed to his ear with one hand as he read off lines of code and explained their reason for being there: a religious pilgrimage and a visit to family that lived in the old market square. Clearance codes were given, credits were transferred from a bogus account with the banking clan, and before long, it was their turn to begin their descent.
The void of the desert was eventually the only thing they knew. Endless stretches of sand, endless stretches of nothing; dry and lifeless. Hopeless and lonely. Logically, they knew civilization was down there, somewhere. It had to be. But the stark contrast between the wall of Imperial interference and complete lack of life was jarring.
The Empire’s message was clear: if you dared come to this planet, there would be no welcome or salvation for you.
"I don't know how you idiots got clearance codes to Jedha of all planets," Bob huffed as he closed comms and looked at them. “But I’m glad it worked.”
Thalia glared at Eddie. "Something tells me we don't want to know.” It had been his contact that had gotten them the codes. "Did you promise priceless tchotchkes to some senator again?"
Eddie cleared his throat awkwardly and answered, "Like you said, you don't wanna know."
Jedha, 10BBY
“Why aren't there any red crystals?”
“Because red isn’t a natural color.”
“Your friend Steev had red.”
“That’s…that's different,” Thalia sighed.
"How is it different?" Eddie demanded as he folded his arms across his chest. “Explain it to me.”
She rolled her eyes, muttering something about "not having time for this right now" under her breath.
And they truly did not have time.
They definitely pressed their luck to get into the Temple of the Whills. It was an ancient Jedi temple that sat above tunnels full of kyber crystals, the object which powered a lightsaber. It was also heavily guarded by stormtroopers. But the Force seemed to be on their side, offering them just the right opportunity for Eddie and Thalia to sneak in. With a convenient distraction orchestrated by their friends.
Now that they were in the depths below the temple, though, Eddie was practically buzzing with energy. Because it was real. It was happening. He was finally getting a lightsaber. A momentous occasion for any Jedi, let alone a wayward, unconventional force-user like him.
He'd been working towards this moment for so long now, but it was still surreal to find himself at the precipice of what could've otherwise only been a dream.
"Red happens to be my favorite color," Eddie protested to Thalia as they continued through the tunnels. "My ship was red, my guitar is red...once all the blue grows out, I was gonna ask if you'd be interested in dying your hair re—ow!"
He stopped in his tracks as she slapped the back of her hand against his chest. He muttered an apology at the annoyed gaze she sent his way.
She unclipped the lightsaber from her belt and with a few twists of the hilt, she revealed a blue kyber crystal inside. Much like the crystals embedded into the stone of the caves around them, it emitted a faint light from within its matrices. As Eddie leaned closer, he felt the faint hum of energy coming from it, much like the ones surrounding them. Its frequency felt distinctly akin to its owner's signature in the Force.
Like it was a part of her.
He hadn't felt it when he held the saber earlier, but with the crystal now revealed, it was clear as day. It was familiar and powerful, it was calm and bright, and it was beginning to feel like home. Just as much a home as his friends were, as Wane was. She was beginning to feel like home, as integral to his existence as the rest of his family.
He couldn't help himself as he erased the short distance between them and kissed her, both of them smiling against each other's lips. It felt a little inappropriate to kiss in a place like this, but he figured that the kyber crystals, if sentient, could overlook the slight disrespect due to the overwhelming crest of emotion he felt.
No wonder the Jedi took a vow to be unfeeling, unattached; it was distracting to feel everything this acutely all the time.
Thalia cleared her throat as Eddie broke away, then gestured to the cave around them. She spoke with a distinct purpose, but Eddie was open to the possibility of her hiding how flustered she’d become. “It doesn’t matter what color you prefer. You'll find the crystal you resonate with the most.”
Eddie hummed with some dismay as she sealed the hilt of her saber and returned it to her belt, but recentered his focus regardless.
Onwards they went deeper into the tunnels.
Thalia had said, as they'd cleared the imperial blockade and made it down to the surface of the planet, that the tunnels were countless and no one, save for the Temple Guardians themselves, knew how deep they truly went.
"It's been hundreds of years since the Jedi regularly visited," she explained. "And it’s been even longer since someone has taken a crystal from these caves."
Of course, she had been wrong. Sort of. They'd encountered Imperial mining equipment earlier in their trek. To Thalia, though, it didn't count; whatever plan the empire had for the crystals was a bastardization of what they were truly meant for.
"What you're about to do, Eddie," she told him as they passed the carelessly-kept mining sites and ventured further into the caves. "Picking your kyber crystal is a sacred ritual. It’s special. You are special."
As nice as it was to be told he was special, he felt the weight of expectation fall on his shoulders. Because Eddie Moonsun was an impatient son-of-a-bantha and wasn't too keen on someone telling him what he should or shouldn't do. He would sooner choose the first crystal that called out to him a little, than wait for the right one just because he was supposed to.
There was a sense of yearning that suddenly filled him as they walked. Not only yearning, but impending fulfillment. This journey, however unexpected, had led him to find a sense of belonging. A sense of purpose. For the millionth time in his life, he found himself cursing the universe, the galaxy, the republic, the empire, for denying him this for so long. He loved his uncle and his friends, he loved the life he lived, but this was something profound. He was part of a bigger whole.
Thalia was right. Maybe it was fate and the will of the Force that made him find it at this point in his life. He appreciated it more. Could cherish and savor it more. It meant something special; he was special.
At that moment, as he truly let the belief sink deep into his heart...he felt it.
It wasn't earth-shattering or life-changing. Actually, in a way, it was. It felt like the slow, burning movement of the molten core of a planet; the endless majesty and purpose, power and grit and emotion. It was grounding and direct, like a sense of purpose and destiny and the will to persevere. He could practically hear the electric strum of guitar strings shredding in his ears, a phantom melody playing just for him.
It felt right.
He wondered, as he sought out the source, if that's what he felt like to those around him. If his friends felt that when he spoke to them, if Thalia felt that in the same way he felt the calm, serene brightness that came from her. If a kyber crystal held the same resonance in the force as their owner. But, he was suddenly at a loss for words.
How could you describe what it was like to suddenly know yourself so utterly and intrinsically? It was impossible.
Eddie took several steps forward, squeezing and shouldering past the few stalagmites that stood in his way, past an assortment of bright and beautiful crystals that begged to be noticed, to a glowing green crystal that sat hidden behind the rest. It was large and multifaceted, jutting proudly and purposefully from the unassuming stone around it. It was beautiful and powerful, and as soon as his eyes glanced upon it, he was sure.
He reached out hesitantly and gently pinched it between his thumb and forefinger. He didn't even need to yank it from the stone, it released almost instantly, as though it was more at home in his possession than the rock from which it was hewn.
And Eddie laughed as he closed his fist around the small crystal, feeling lighter in that moment than he might've felt his entire life.
It belonged to him. He belonged to it.
They belonged.
Bogano, 10BBY
He'd been uncharacteristically silent on the trip back through the tunnels, to the Mantis, and then back to Bogano. Thalia had told the others to give him his space; D5-TN and BD-1 were the only ones who dared interrupt the time he had to meditate with his kyber crystal.
If you could call it meditation.
It was a time of self-reflection and self-awareness that left him feeling more comfortable in his skin than he had his entire life.
It was both strange and empowering.
However, as soon as they touched back down on Bogano, he couldn't stand the seclusion anymore.
"You need to do this alone," Thalia had insisted as she directed him past the edge of camp. They were headed to the small workshop that Master Cordova kept during his time on the planet.
But Eddie knew he couldn't walk this part of his path alone.
"So, is it going to be our lightsaber?" G'areth had snickered when Eddie invited the rest of the guys along.
Dayv scoffed and punched the younger man's shoulder. "Laugh it up, moof head."
"We'd be honored to come," Jeff spoke for them all, with an added whistle of agreement from D5-TN.
Although G'areth had joked about the weapon belonging to all of them, all of Eddie's friends had surprised him by bringing little pieces that belonged to each of them, sacrificed to create his saber.
The little shits had all gone behind his back and asked Thalia what it was they could do to help. Eddie was both annoyed and honored; she hadn't even told him what went into making a lightsaber, just that he'd find what he needed at Cordova's workshop. Which means she also knew he wasn't gonna listen when she insisted he had to do this alone.
The controls came from D5-TN—Dustin made a joke about not needing any controls himself, the traditional buttons and ports all but useless to his organic friends. They couldn't control him even if they wanted to. Everyone sniggered at the joke, even if they knew he was right.
The pommel cap and emitter were from Dayv. Sharpshooter that he was, he sacrificed one of his prized blasters for the parts.
"If I'm as good as I think I am," he said as he laid the pieces on the workbench, "I should be able to shoot with any blaster. Not just my lucky Geddy." Eddie clapped him on the shoulder in thanks.
Next was the focusing ring from G'areth. This one was tricky, and he admitted that he and Jeff had asked Hoppor for help with their contributions. A cymbal from his drum kit had been melted and reforged into the part.
"Just like Dayvie said, I can always get another one," G'areth shrugged. "You've helped us chase after our destinies time and again; of course we're here for yours."
The energy core came from Jeff, who had kept an old spare piece from the Dragonborn's hyperdrive generator amongst his things.
"Never hurt to be prepared," he admitted sheepishly. "So...this is twofold. From me, and from our old girl."
Eddie felt the tears in his eyes as he held the piece reverently. His ship. Their ship. Still with them onto the next adventure. It practically hummed as he set his kyber crystal into it.
Finally, a gift from all of them.
"Don't kill us," Jeff began as he reached into his jacket.
"Well that doesn't bode well," Eddie scoffed and crossed his arms expectantly. "What did you do? Have Hop melt down my guitar to make the last piece of this damn saber?"
It was a joke...but they all suddenly looked guilty, even Dustin—as guilty as a droid could look.
"Are you...you're kriffing kidding me..." Eddie stared at them incredulously. "You...you destroyed my guitar?"
He was about to blow his top—so much for serenity in the force—when Jeff presented the final piece to him.
They hadn't destroyed his guitar...but they'd definitely done something to it. Because the pieces that would make up the main hilt of the saber had the same mottled, crackled red and black texture that his guitar, his sweetheart, had. Like they were made from the same skin.
"We took it from the back," G'areth explained. "She'll still play like a dream. But we figured...well, that guitar is just as much a part of you as we are, as the Dragonborn was...she needed to be here too."
He couldn’t help the hot tears that dripped down his cheeks. He pulled his friends into the biggest hug he could manage and whispered incoherent words of love and friendship and appreciation to all of them.
Then came the big event.
With all of the pieces laid out on Cordova's workbench, armed with a welding tool and the Force, Eddie got to work.
His friends all helped where they could, offering words of encouragement or handing him parts as he needed; they ooh'd and ah'd over his improved skills with the force as things floated in mid-air and moved at the twitch of his fingers. Dayv offered a rag to wipe away the sweat that came from the heat of the welding tool, and Dustin chirped enthusiastically the closer and closer he got to completing the saber.
Until, finally, it was done.
"It..." He stared at it, held reverently in his hands. He choked out a laugh. "It kind of looks like shit."
And it did; all of the parts, made of different objects, clashed and weren't the most appealing. But it still...it looked like him. Looked like them.
A misfit lightsaber for a misfit force user with misfit friends on a misfit planet.
"Well," Jeff said, voice heavy with anticipation once the laughter subsided. "Aren't you gonna turn it on?"
Eddie held his breath as his thumb hovered over the control switch. "What...what if it doesn't work? What if I did something wrong?"
D5-TN beeped encouragingly; the Force was with him, how wrong could he be?
Jeff was the first to put a hand on Eddie's shoulder. Then Dayv on the other. G'areth grasped his wrist. And D5-TN's gripper arm latched onto the hem of his vest. Eddie looked to them all for one last look of gratitude, and courage, then flicked the switch.
And they all whooped in celebration as they were bathed in glowing green light.
Thalia's quarters were...well, she hadn't been kidding when she said that the tent he shared with his friends was bigger and nicer than where she was bunking.
Her little supply-closet-turned-bedroom held a hammock for a bed, several durasteel crates stacked upon one another for a dresser, and a chair where she laid out her clothes for the following day. The first time Eddie had visited, he had been astounded before realizing that she was practically in the lap of luxury in the spacious medbay aboard the Dragonborn.
One leg up she had, though, was that she had the place all to herself.
She was lounging in her hammock and scrolling on her datapad when Eddie burst in, talking a parsec-a-minute.
"I did it! I can't believe it...and it's here!" He held the lightsaber hilt out to her and then ran both hands through his hair as best he could. "I have one and it's real. I'm not...I'm dreaming. It's a dream. I'm gonna wake up tomorrow, back on Bracca, whacking sticks together with Jeff, making whoosh-goosh noises with our mouths. It can't be real."
She laughed as he grabbed her by the hand and hauled her to her feet. He twirled her, and pulled her to his side.
"Please tell me I'm not dreaming, sweetheart," he whispered desperately.
Thalia looked down at the lightsaber held before her, and then back up at him.
"You're not dreaming, Eddie," she said resolutely with a nod. "You're not gonna wake up on Bracca; you did it. This is real."
They both beamed at each other before Eddie released his grip on her. He backed up and held the lightsaber before igniting the blade and shifting into a ready stance.
"So." He lifted a brow. "Do you think we could give it a test?"
Thalia hummed for a second, then said, “You know, Master Yoda used to say that lightsabers required a special skill. Not just knowing when to use it, but when not to. When to move, and when to stay still.”
Eddie groaned and threw his head back petulantly.
“Come on! You didn’t just wine and dine and fly me across the galaxy to make a lightsaber just to tell me I couldn’t use it.”
Thalia let him suffer for a few more moments before she held a hand out, calling her own lightsaber into her grasp. She did not ignite it, and instead gestured back towards the door.
"Wait.” He hesitated. "Seriously? You're entertaining this?"
"Sure." She shrugged. "But Ben had a point when he said no lightsaber duels inside. I'd rather not let you destroy what little I own just so you can get your jitters out."
"Jitters? Sweetheart, I'm gonna wipe the floor with you."
Thalia threw her head back in an obnoxious laugh, then practically pushed him out of her bunk.
"Alright Mr. Whoosh-Goosh. I'm sure you're an expert at the art of the blade."
"Is that what the Jedi call it?"
"I wouldn't know, I'm not a Jedi.”
For not-a-jedi, though, Thalia took a pretty thorough approach to his education.
It was slow at first, as Eddie got used to the difference in the weight and weightlessness of the lightsaber. She had been right, when she had said that a lightsaber was special, different. And it certainly wasn't like swinging a stick. He could barely feel the momentum while swinging it back and forth. It was simply an extension of him.
She instructed him on basic stances and got him used to the feeling of the glowing plasma blades clashing against one another. Once he felt comfortable, she even took his blaster and fired a few bolts so he could practice deflecting them.
"It'll be easier if you close your eyes," she told him.
"You know, I didn't get the chance to make a joke before, but...if I had a credit for every time a beautiful woman told me that..." he trailed off with a chuckle.
She rolled her eyes and snorted. "You know, maybe that's why the Jedi Order fell. They should've added 'extraordinary skills in bed' to the keystones of Knighthood."
They practiced well into the evening, even getting as far as some light sparring, before Benny called them all to dinner.
It was exhausting, to be honest. He was sweating and out-of-breath by the time they called it quits, practically passing out into his bowl of stew.
G'areth laughed as they hauled him to his feet at the end of the night. "I've never seen him so tired."
"Last time we had to carry him like this, he bet the ship in a drinking game against a Rodian bounty hunter," Jeff added. D5-TN even shouldered some of Eddie’s weight as they dragged him back to their tent.
And he wasn't sure, but Eddie thought Thalia was there when he was unceremoniously dropped into his bed. Of course, it could've all been his imagination. Or a hallucination. The weight of one of her hands in his, and the other hand running over his forehead and carding through his hair as she whispered words of encouragement and pride at this milestone. It could’ve been one of his friends…or even Benny.
Regardless, it put a smile on his lips as he finally drifted off to sleep.
Bracca, 10BBY
He stood in one of the rail transport cars, hanging onto the bar overhead as his uncle sat, weary, in the seat before him.
There were plenty of others who would take a seat for themselves, but Wane always emphasized respect. Eddie would always give the older scrappers a seat before taking one for himself.
There was a din of chatter around them and although Eddie couldn't make out what his uncle was saying amongst the other voices, he still found himself chuckling at the anecdote. He thought it was strange, thought that there was something he was missing here, but he was probably just tired. He could probably catch a quick snooze when they took a break, or once they were back home at the end of their shift.
He overdid it with the guys the night before; that had to be it.
The train came to a screeching halt, and everyone started filing out. Wane pushed himself to his feet with a groan and led them both out onto the platform so they could punch in for their shift.
'"Heard they hauled in another decommissioned destroyer today," Wane muttered. "From Jedha."'
"Jedha?" Eddie whistled. "That's a long way away from here. Why did they haul it all this way?"
"You know you shouldn't ask questions, kid," Wane clapped him on the shoulder and led him forward. "A simple life and a cup of caf; ke—"
"I know, old man..." Eddie cut him off. "Keys to happiness. Yeah, yeah."
Their coworkers were all congregated in a huddled group up ahead. Someone at the front of the group called for them not to push each other crowd around; they'd be off to work soon if they all behaved. Wane grumbled something about hoping they had caf and pastries waiting for them...or lottery tickets.
"I wonder if Prauf'll let us in at the front to get first dibs then," Eddie laughed as he spotted a familiar head towering over the others. He pulled Wane behind him as he shouldered through the group to get to the Abednedo scrapper.
But there wasn't food or lottery tickets waiting at the front of the group.
There were troopers with blaster rifles, clad head to toe in black armor, and two figures with red-visored helmets.
Eddie's heart seized in his chest as one of the figures turned and he saw the fissure in the helmet that revealed a stern, human face inside.
The Inquisitor locked eyes with Eddie for a moment, then let his gaze slide over the other scrappers, almost boredly.
"We're looking for information," the other Inquisitor spoke, a smooth Coruscanti accent echoing over the platform. "We're searching for fugitives...enemies of the Empire."
"You're not gonna find any fugitives here," one of the other scrappers announced bravely. They shrunk as all eyes and blasters were suddenly pointed their way. "Er...what I mean is that we've all been in the guild for a while. We can't be fugitives."
"That's why we're looking for information on this scrap heap of a planet," the Inquisitor with the cracked helmet spoke snidely, practically spitting the words. "And not the fugitives."
Steev...his name was Steev.
Eddie frowned at the thought, but shook his head and continued to listen to what the imps had to say. On and on, they droned. They'd tracked a fugitive from an old Republic outpost, to Coruscant, where the trail went cold.
It sounded...familiar to Eddie, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
"Their ship was destroyed," the Inquisitor with the cracked helmet announced, and Eddie felt his heart drop into his stomach. "But we were able to track the origin of parts in the wreckage here. To Bracca. To one of your former colleagues."
The crowd started shifting and chattering, staring at one another in question. No one got off Bracca. No one.
Wane's posture stiffened, and Eddie shot him a questioning glance. However, his uncle refused to look at him.
Eddie wasn't the only one to notice the change in Wane's posture, though. Cracked Helmet turned, and his hazel eye locked onto the older man. Eddie was quick to try and take a step in front of Wane, to try and distract the Inquisitors.
"I know something!" he announced, earning shocked stares from the other scrappers. Wane reached out and tried to grab Eddie's arm but Eddie took a step forward to keep the attention off Wane. "I know that we've kept our heads down, kept our loyalty to the Emperor for years. Even before the Clone Wars. Whatever was asked of us, we've delivered. Engineers became scrappers, hard work we could be proud of became back-breaking labor that barely earned enough credits to survive. And we don't complain."
"Should we not take this as a formal complaint then?" Steev grinned sardonically. "You don't have to try so hard to hide something, my friend. Whatever we're looking for, we'll find it."
"Whatever," the other inquisitor's voice was suddenly behind Eddie, right in his ear. There was a searing hot pain in his chest, a flash of red light, and suddenly he was choking on the air. "Or whoever."
The lightsaber blade retracted, burning back through him as it went, and he fell to the ground as other scrappers shouted a name that didn’t belong to him.
He watched as he lay dying, as the crowd of scrappers dissolved into chaos, as troopers grabbed Wane by his arms, and the Inquisitors approached menacingly.
Eddie's eyes slipped shut as their lightsabers ignited and were held against Wane's throat.
"Wane Moonsun?" Steev questioned with a menacing, authoritative tone. "We have questions about the whereabouts of your nephew, Eddric."
Bogano, 10BBY
Eddie screamed Wane's name as he bolted upright in bed, effectively shocking his friends out of their deep sleeps.
He scrambled to free himself of the blankets so he could press his hands to the phantom lightsaber wound that still throbbed at the center of his chest.
He heaved great, sobbing breaths and responded loudly and incoherently as his friends crowded his bed and shook him and asked question after question.
As the rest of their encampment woke to his shrieking cries, they also ventured to see what the commotion was all about. Hoppor even had a blaster rifle in hand as he peeked into the tent and held El safely behind him.
"They have him," Eddie repeated over and over. "They have him."
"Have who?" Jeff tried to calm him down, tried every trick he knew to ease his friend from a nightmare. "Ed, take some deep breaths. Come on, it was just a dream."
"It wasn't," he shook his head. "It wasn't a dream. I was there."
"It was a vision," Thalia's groggy voice came from the opening of the tent. She passed the others, urging them to head back to bed before crouching before Eddie's shaken, despondent form. "A vision in the force."
She answered the mens’ questions as Eddie finally came back to himself, as his consciousness settled back into his body and he was able to discern what was part of the vision and what was reality. Fingers, toes, lungs. Breathing. Feeling. He wasn't on the ground, he was in bed. He wasn't on Bracca, dying. He was on Bogano.
And Wane was in trouble.
He never remembered his dreams ever being that troublesome before, enough to literally throw him across the galaxy like that. He hadn't even been sure that his dreams were prophetic, even though Thalia seemed to insist on it.
Once the ringing in his ears dissipated, he blinked and looked around at the concerned faces of his friends.
He took a few more breaths until his heartbeat evened out.
"They're looking for us," Eddie muttered to them all. "They're looking for me. The Inquisitors." He turned to Thalia. "Which means they're really looking for you."
Her jaw clenched, but her eyes were soft, remorseful. "I'm sure they are."
"And they...they're trying to use my uncle to get to me," he continued. "To get to you."
Dayv, Jeff, G'areth, and D5-TN all started talking over one another, questions about Wane and what his dream, vision, was and what they were going to do.
But Eddie didn't answer them.
His solemn gaze was firmly locked with Thalia's as they shared an unspoken discussion.
He wouldn't let them hurt his uncle to get to him. Wane was the only family that he had.
She wasn't going to let him walk right into a death trap; she had put him in this position in the first place.
If she hadn't gotten him into a mess like this, he definitely would've done it himself. He would figure this out on his own.
Over her dead body.
He's pretty sure the Inquisitors would like that.
She could take care of herself.
Wane was his uncle.
And Eddie was her...her friend...her pupil...her partner.
"Uh..." G'areth finally piped up, interrupting them. "Are you guys ok? Can Jedi read each other's minds?"
"We're not Jedi," Eddie and Thalia responded in tandem.
The tense moment broke, and they all dissolved into laughter.
"You don't need to do this alone," Thalia told Eddie as the levity subsided.
"I can't ask anyone else to risk themselves. Especially when this is obviously a trap," Eddie explained. "I've gotten myself out of tougher situations than this. You need to stay here...keep the kids safe."
"Well it's a good thing you aren't asking me," she objected. "I'm offering. Actually, I'm asking for your help. Again. This whole mess is my responsibility more than it is yours. Steev is trying to find you, so he can find me. And your uncle got caught in the crosshairs.
"But I'll save him. We can save him. Together. Put an end to the Inquisitors hunt...of us at least. Keep those kids safe, keep the light safe."
She raised her brows expectantly at her conclusion, waiting for his answer.
He felt his stomach turn in uncertainty, even though he knew she was right.
Wane was his uncle, his responsibility, but if there was anything that he learned in this whole thing, it was that he wasn't alone. They weren't alone—him, his uncle, his friends, the kids, their parents and siblings, Thalia. They were all sparks of light, sparks of hope in this ever-dimming world. They all had each other.
“You know what?” he asked softly and set his hand down onto hers, fingers gently caressing her skin. “We’ve come a long way.” He nodded over to his friends who all straightened under their friend’s, their captain’s gaze. “We’re not the same people we were just a few months ago. The Eddie back on Nar Shaddaa? He would’ve gone on some suicide mission to save his uncle. Shit, it still might be one. But I’ve learned so much, I’ve changed. And I couldn’t have done it without you.”
Thalia smiled at him.
“Because of that, though,” he continued, and her smile fell again. “I only have one thing to say. One request.”
She nodded. “Anything.”
He closed his eyes for a moment, like he’d learned, like she had taught him. He saw, felt, the light. Inside of her. Inside his friends. Inside himself. And even though his uncle was half a galaxy away, he could see the light within Wane too, like it was right there beside him. Maybe because it didn’t matter how distant they were from each other, they were always there with one another. His dream had been proof enough.
Eddie opened his eyes again, and then turned Thalia’s hand over and slipped his palm against hers, and let his fingers tighten around her hand.
"Help me, Thalia Trieste. You're my only hope."
Thalia beamed at him and gripped his hand tightly in return, her other hand coming to clasp over top of his.

Masterlist
Summary: This is an ABO Bad batch!Poly x Omega Reader smut with a plot. This takes place as an AU before order 66. Y/N previously served under the 501st before being transferred to Special Forces 99. This is her adventure with these rowdy Alphas in a quickly changing universe.
THIS IS AN ABO AU ABOUT THE BAD BATCH (NO CANON OMEGA!) Due to the unfortunate situation of her name being Omega… Omega the child from the canon series is not going to be apart of this fanfic/porn with a plot. I feel obligated to put this warning in because it makes my skin crawl thinking anyone could make that mistake.
Warnings: Angst, smut, hopecore? idk.

The ride to Rex’s secret base of operations was a long one. You suspected it was in the outer rim based on how long you all had been traveling in hyperspace.
You had curled up with Crosshair on the floor trying to stay warm with your still damp clothes. One of the regs had found a janky old heating lamp that flickered as everyone huddled around trying to keep the cold space chills away. It wasn’t working.
“We’re not too far out!” Wooley had emerged from the cockpit, “We’ll be leaving hyper space soon.”
You sighed with relief. You could’t wait to get off this ship and see the others.
Through the bond you could sense Crosshair’s trepidation.
“What’s wrong?” You asked looking up at him.
He just grunted chewing on his toothpick.
You huffed and shuffled back down knowing it was a waste of time to pry. He’ll tell you when he’s ready.
When the ship suddenly jolted forwards, exiting hyperspace and the pilot downshifted making the ship rumble, you stood up with the others feeling the cargo ship enter the planets’s atmosphere with a rough shake. Standing on wobbly feet, you grabbed ahold of the cargo straps feeling Crosshair stand protectively at your back keeping you both in place.
With a couple of jolts and jostles you felt the ship touch down on solid ground before settling into stillness. The engines were cut, and the cargo hatch made a whining creek sound as it folded open revealing the pink skies of this strange planet. The ship had landed on an elevated platform high in the sky and in front of you was a very old building. Seemingly an old Jedi monastery from the looks of it.
The air was warm and humid with a strange terrestrial smell you weren’t familiar with. The others stepped outside before you, Wolffe, Crosshair, Bolts, Stunner, and Grim held up the flank.
Following the other groups of regs in unmarked armor, they lead you all inside the main monastery door. Once inside, you nearly gasped from all of the regs who had made this place a home. It was absolutely crawling with men. From every battalion, squadron, and special forces unit under the GAR. You could’t believe it. They had converted this place into a fully operational military base.
Holo displays were everywhere monitoring the ships in the hyperspace lanes, there were men busy listening to com chatter, and others discussing strategy. They had built a tiny army here.
You looked at the boys and they seemed to be just as impressed as you are.
“Tiny!”
You spun around to see Rex approaching you with his helmet on his hip. He had a very happy smile on his face even though he was covered in a fair amount of blaster residue. You trotted over to him practically flinging yourself at him.
“You got my message! You came!”
He squeezed you, “Of course I did, kid. You’re pack. We don’t leave pack behind.”
Crosshair got called over by Wolffe to look at a holomap of the Marauder. Clearly it had to do with his brothers.
“I can’t believe this place, Rex.” You looked around, “How long did this take to put together?”
“At the end of the war, Tano and I knew if we wanted to save any of the clones, we were going to have to put together a group.” He pulled up a small holo image of something familiar, “We created a network, Fulcrum.” He handed you the puck, “It’s a spy network trying to free the troopers from imperial control. We may not have been able to save our pack, but we’re hoping we can save others.”
You felt a pang of sadness hit thinking about the 501st.
“We need medics, Y/N. I know you’ve been through a lot, but we need soldiers like you.” He watched you slide the puck into your pocket, “We have a home here. You and your alphas are welcome to stay. We only have each other now.” He shrugged.
You nodded taking his invitation to heart.
Rex then scratched the back of his awkwardly, “Also, I wasn’t sure how to break the news to you, I was hoping Seargent Hunter would be here, but…”
“Y/N?”
You turned around to see an unmarked reg approach. You watched him take off his helmet to reveal a scarred cheek and a fluffed up haircut.
Your eyes widened in shock, “H-Howzer?” Oh shit.
“Mesh’la…” He closed the distance and picked you up bringing into his chest. You struggled slightly squirming in his arms, “W-wait Howzer!…”
“Put her the fuck down!” Crosshair’s growl made the hair stand up on your arms and the entire base to go eerily silent.
He approached menacingly with his extremely narrowed eyes. Oh kark. He was pissed. Crosshair curled his fists determined to get his mate back and away from this strange alpha.
Howzer stilled, knitting his brow together, before setting you down gently and turning to face the sniper. Howzer stood protectively in front of you crossing his arms with a stern brow raised sizing up your mate. Oh shit. You couldn’t believe this was happening right now. Your heart raced and suddenly the room was filled with your anxious pheromones.
You noticed the others in the room bristle slightly as the scents mingled.
Howzer’s stance only pissed off Crosshair even more. How dare this reg get in-between him and his mate.
“Omega, come.” Crosshair ordered pointing a finger at the ground next to him.
You felt your stomach drop knowing the next few seconds were going to change this dynamic drastically.
You stepped to the side, and tiptoed out from behind the captain, just to nestle into Crosshair’s side where he had pointed previously. Crosshair didn’t need to use his alpha tone with you, you knew he wouldn’t. But, you also obeyed knowing this was not the time to try and make a point about how silly this all was.
Howzer just gave you a confused and slightly shocked expression watching you cozy up to Crosshair, of all alphas. His disappointment was palpable. Then you saw his eyes flick down to the bite wound on your neck next to the property collar will dazzling around your lithe collarbones.
“You’re mated?” He asked with an angry tone.
You nodded, “Y-yeah.”
You didn’t know what was worse, the look he was giving you now, or the self imposed guilt of having to inform your ex-alpha that you were no longer his…
“You fucking collared her!?” Your old alpha roared raising his fists. You squirmed feeling Crosshair nudge you behind him protectively.
He just replied sardonically, “And if I did?”
Dammit Cross… You couldn’t hold in the frustrate sigh, always picking fights…
It was Rex’s turn to look at you sideways, his disgust was also noticeable. The clones know a thing or two about slavery. The offending object raised and lowered quickly with your breath seemingly catching everyone’s attention now. You suddenly desperately wished for it to be gone.
“I always knew you were fucked up 99.” Howzer bared his teeth, “Killed all my men, tried to kill me too… now this?” He gestured to your neck, “It didn’t shock me you ended up with the imperials.”
You froze in place, but your eyes trailed up to the back on Crosshair’s silver haired head. He tried to what?!
You knew he had done bad things in the name of the empire, but slaughtering Howzer’s men…
“Had I known who you were, I would have put that bullet between your eyes back on Ryloth.” Crosshair snarled back.
“You can sure try.” Howzer challenged.
Wolffe, Bolts, Grim, and Stunner all came forward with their arms raised.
Wolffe stepped forwards getting in the middle to try and stop the fight, “Alright! Alright! Enough!” He sighed looking tired, “ Crosshair didn’t collar her, Tarkin did!” That bit of clarification seemed to be enough to de-escalate Howzer just slightly. “Now I don’t know what in the Sith’s hells is going on here, but I’ve been on the opposite end of 99’s wrath, and trust me Captain now is not the time for this.”
Crosshair raised a suspicious brow, he never thought he’d actually see Wolffe defending him.
Howzer didn’t seem any less angry still feeling the ugly head of jealousy raging at the site of you tucked under the Sniper’s arm.
“Now, what we now know about that little omega, is that she’s very important to the empire. She’s not just Crosshair’s mate, but also the other 99’s. Tarkin wanted her for experiments, along with the rest of us.” He pointed to the other clones in black civvies. “A day before you all arrived, we were drugged with SRA that drove us all into a rut. We’re all a little stirred up so let’s calm down for the sake of everyone here.” Wolffe was starting to remind you of an exhausted dad. You had to hold in a little chuckle, always a soldier.
“Tell them what you know, Tiny.” Grim urged, “You needed to talk to Rex.”
You nodded and stepped around to Crosshair’s front and held out your hand to the Captain, “Nala Se gave me this before we escaped the base. She said it held all of my genetic records from the empire and also something that could assist the CT’s. She wiped the data base before giving it to me.” You stepped forward to place it into his hand, “It seemed important.”
Rex took the drive with a nod and looked down at the little silver metal piece turning the holo drive over in his glued fingers.
Howzer stepped forwards, “What the hell is going on here?” He looked at you directly, “You were supposed to be mine… you were mine. Now, this?” He gestured to your mate.
Crosshair growled possessively raising an accusatory finger shoving it into Howler’s chest, “Should have sealed the deal then. But this omega… is mine.” You whimpered not liking this tension one bit. You may be matted to Crosshair, but you did have such a respect for Howzer from before.
Howzer stared at Crosshair before shifting his dejected gaze to you.
You sighed, “It’s complicated, Captain.” You lowered your eyes not liking the feeling of his disappointment.
Howzer huffed, “Is it now?”
Wolffe walked up trying to ease the tension, “Trust her, it is…”
“You have no idea, brother.” Grim put a hand on his hip watching Howler bristle.
Howzer scrunched his brow, “Well someone, enlighten me.”
Rex just stepped forwards putting a hand on Howzer’s shoulder, “Well the long in the short is that, Tiny, is a rare variant of omega. She can have multiple mates. They happen to be the 99s. Though, the news of her being mated to Crosshair is new to me.” He raised a skeptical brow at you, “I guess a congratulations is in order.”
“Thanks Rex.” You gave him a small smile.
“The imperials gassed the base on Naboo with SRA.” Wolffe filled in the blanks, “They wanted clone pups. They also wanted Y/N cloned for the purpose to making more Ori’sol omegas for their breeding program.”
“Breeding program?” Rex asked confused.
“Thats why they sent me after her.” Crosshair rubbed a possessive hand over your neck and healing mark, “Admiral Tarkin was going to create a new elite army with our pups.”
Rex furrowed his brow and gestured to your stomach, “Does that mean…”
“No!” Both you and Crosshair blurted out, “No…” You shook your head, “No pups. Crosshair made sure I was safe, they didn’t know.”
Rex just nodded letting his protective side settle down. You knew he would have had a conniption if that news was sprung on him too. Imagine, a secret military base with a pup running around, good gods.
“Is that why there were so many clones in that base?” A familiar figure stepped forwards.
Cody.
You smiled at him too. He gave you a little nod of acknowledgment.
“Rounded up as many of us as they could.” Grim replied, “Had us pairing up with the captured omegas.”
“That explains a lot.” Rex noted.
You looked back at Howzer who was watching you longingly. Your heart ached with guilt seeing the hurt on his brow. This must be a lot to process for him. You weren’t his only omega, but you were definitely his most consistent. You were on Ryloth long enough to get to know the captain, but you never pursued any sort of relationship due to the on going war. He must be devastated seeing you with Crosshair. It wasn’t lost on you that the man had developed some kind of feelings for you after everything.
Crosshair gave you a little squeeze pulling your attention back to him. He studied your eyes rubbing his thumb on your cheek.
You could tell he was dying to lay into Howzer, but he was keeping his calm for your sake.
In the background, Rex took the hollow drive and plugged it into the display table. Suddenly a massive projection of your entire genetic system popped up. One of the troopers you didn’t recognize began reading the reports.
“Rex, you gotta see this.” He pointed to something floating by your DNA strands.
You and Crosshair nuzzled together as the others began to gather around the table. You watched Howzer disappear into the crowd of clones needing some time to process clearly.
“Did you really kill his men?” You asked.
Crosshair just gave you a short grunt confirming it.
“Would you have really killed him?” You asked.
“The empire didn’t inform me of who he was.” He explained as he smoothed your hair down, “They sent me retrieve him from Ryloth for interrogation. His unit didn’t come willingly. In hindsight I realize it was because they were searching for you, and wanted him for information. But at that time I believed you to be dead, If I had known, I probably would have…. Still considering it.”
You looked up at him with a shocked expression. But he just smiled and chuckled.
He was joking… “Oh my gods, don’t say things like that.” You smacked his chest.
A clone trooper in a flight uniform came running inside, “We got incoming!”
You perked your head up turning to face the main doorway. In came another group of scared and confused omegas along with more clone troopers. Blankets and food was being passed around as more and more people entered the hall.
They shuffled inside looking even more distraught after the events on Naboo. Some still covered in blaster residue and in their imperial garments.
You watched as the crowd began to lighten up before you noticed a very distinct helmet appear from the darkness.
“Hunter.” You breathed.
You flung yourself forward running at full speed crashing into your Sargent before he even had a chance to remove his helmet.
He grunted with the impact of your body before throwing his helmet carelessly to the side before picking you up and holding you to his armored chest.
You started crying finally feeling the empty bit in your chest begin to fill with his presence again. Rubbing your cheek into his to spread his scent, he nuzzled into your hair practically inhaling your smell.
“Mesh’la.” He breathed, “Fuck. I missed you my love.” He buried his head into your hair breathing you in, refusing to let go. You just wrapped yourself around his torso with your legs letting him hold you tightly.
“You found me.” You whimpered into his neck nuzzling his scent into your nose.
“Of course we found you, Adi’ka.” He replied gruffly before pulling back to press his lips to yours. You melted immediately into his plush soft kiss. Carding your fingers through his lengthy hair, you massaged his scalp as he deepened the kiss making you mewl.
“Pip?” Wrecker’s hopeful voice snapped you out of your haze. Hunter spun the two of you to see Tech, Wrecker, and Echo jogging towards you both from the landing platform.
Hunter set you down, letting you unwrap yourself before the other three surrounded you in a group hug squeezing you nearly to death. You were being smothered in kisses and touches and hugs.
Crosshair watched as the three other 99’s fawned over you, asking you a million questions you struggled to answer. They wanted to know everything. What happened. Were you hurt? How did you get to the bas eon Naboo? What was going on there?
Hunter caught his attention as his older brother stared at him with one of his intense scrutinizing glares. He was still pissed about the events on Bracca apparently, even though now he was starting to realize that Crosshair was much different.
Then it was like an epiphany went off in hunter’s head. He looked at Crosshair with a raised brow, then over to you, sniffing the air slightly. What you didn’t know, was that he was hearing something even stranger…
“What did you do?” Hunter’s smokey voice turned hardened at his little brother.
Wrecker let go of you to look up at his Hunter sensing a change in energy.
Hunter looked at your chest before whipping his head around to face his little brother.
“What. Did. You. Do.” Hunter narrowed is eyes. He pointed a gloved finger at you, “Her heart… it beats… with yours.”
Crosshair just stood emotionless, but you could sense his panic through the bond. Hunter’s intensity was unsettling to the sniper. Always has been.
“H-Hunter, wait it’s not what-“ You began, but Tech cut you off as his finger pried at your neck. He tugged on the metal welded around your neck with a horrified look. He ran his fingers over the aurebesh engraving declaring you his twin’s property. Then his fingers went down to your mating gland where he traced a finger over the marred skin. It looked freshly healed where Crosshair had punctured your flesh marking you as his with two little raised bumps.
“He bit you?” Tech said rubbing the gland making you flush at his touch. He forgot how stimulating that was for you.
You barely had time to register the eldest charging at Crosshair before the sound of his fist colliding with his little bother’s cheek snapped you out of the haze.
You screamed watching Hunter and Crosshair roll around on the temple floor. Echo kept you from running forwards not wanting you to get hurt in their scuffle. He held you firmly under his arm.
“Shit.” Rex leapt into action along with Wolffe, and shockingly, Howzer.
Crosshair had Hunter pinned and was pummeling his forearms as his brother blocked his hits. But Hunter wasn’t giving up, fueled by rage, he threw his little brother off of him and cold cocked him in the jaw sending them both tumbling to the ground.
“Alright! Alright!” Wolffe used his commanding voice. He bent down and yanked Crosshair back right as Rex got a hold of Hunter.
“How could you Crosshair?!” Hunter snarled. The two were being scrubbed by the collar like two tookas.
Wrecked walked over to put himself between his brothers as the verbal fight broke out, as they tugged against their restraints trying to lunge at one another again.
You whimpered, unable to watch the fight anymore. Feeling suddenly extremely claustrophobic, you turned around looking at Tech, “Please! Please Tech!” You yanked and tugged at the collar, “Please take this off.” You begged.
He nodded and reached around in his tool belt grabbing your abused laser suture.
“Echo give me your glove.” Tech said.
Echo handed it over before running his flesh hand over your shoulder trying to soothe you.
Tech nudged the glove under the collar gently, before bringing out the tools. Very carefully, he brought the glowing plasma point up to the Imperial durasteel collar and got to work weakening the welding points as you squirmed uncomfortably.
“How could you do this to her?” Hunter snarled, “She nearly died when you turned to the empire!”
“I didn’t turn to the empire!” Crosshair snapped.
“You tried to kill her!”
You could feel Crosshair’s hurt through the bond at Hunter’s words… he didn’t mean to.
“You know I didn’t have control. I would never fucking hurt her!” Crosshair’s glare darkened, “You’re the one who left me behind! You left me under their control!… I thought we were brothers!”
Hunter looked like he had just been punched in the gut.
The sergeant stared at his brother letting his mouth hang open slightly unsure how to respond.
Tech finally freed you from the property collar wrenching it open only to let it fall to the ground with a deafening clatter. The silence that followed after sent a chill down your spine.
You looked over at Hunter who eyed the metal at your feet.
You cleared your throat before speaking, “I did it!” You looked to the eldest, “I mated Crosshair…. I bit him. It’s my fault…Please Hunter don’t be mad at him.” You wanted this stupid fight to end. It hurt your watching them argue, especially over something Hunter doesn’t even understand.
Once again Hunter looked shocked and appalled. He stood up straight staring at you with a bated breath. You could feel the sour taste of his disappointment too. He shook off Rex and stormed out of the hangar not even able to look at you for one more second… kriff. You sighed.
He fucking hates you. You suddenly felt sick with anxiety and fought back the urge to vomit.
What should have been a happy reunion had suddenly turned sour.
You felt Tech and Wrecker disappear, heading after Hunter leaving you alone with Echo and Crosshair. Dammit.
“Y/N, what happened?” Echo asked bringing you into a hug. The only one giving you an ounce of empathy.
“Ask Wolffe, he’ll tell you.“ You sighed pushing away unable to bare anymore of this, “I’ve had enough for today. Is there a place I can rest for a bit?” You looked to Rex who nodded and gave ordered to his men to guide you to a quiet place.
You followed behind the clones letting them lead you to a spare room that had been converted into living space. You looked around realizing this is Rex’s quarters. You sighed and rubbed at your neck finally feeling lighter now that, that offending metal was gone and you were free again.
The door whooshed open to reveal your mate. He stepped inside looking exhausted and his chin a nasty swelling red.
“I knew it was wrong to leave you with the imperials.” You said quietly feeling the tears rise in your eyes, “I told them.”
He nodded putting a toothpick in his mouth. Of course he managed to find one even here on this remote base.
“Hunter’s always been good at protecting the group.” Crosshair drawled, “We have a plan, you know, if one of us isn’t going to make it back.”
You looked up at him with bleary eyes.
“Plan 99.” He nodded, “A suicide mission.”
“But you weren’t sacrificing yourself for the group.” You whimpered, “We left you and that was fucked up.”
He scoffed, “Given the circumstances I understand him… doesn’t make it hurt any less. But what were four of them going agains the empire really going to do.”
“Cross.” You sighed, “We should have gotten you the second we knew about the chips. I should… I should have pushed harder.”
“He wouldn’t have listened to you.” Crosshair sat in the chair against the wall facing you, “And it’s not your fault, love. His main concern was protecting you.”
“Why are you justifying his actions? You sounded so hurt!” You whimpered wiping away a falling tear.
“We’re brothers.” He rolled his eyes, “It’s what we do.”
You just whined and let the tears keep falling, “I think he hates me.”
Crosshair motioned for you to come to him. You walked over standing between his open legs. He tugged you down so you were sitting on his lap. He pulled you in close so you rested against his chest and he tucked your head under his chin.
“He doesn’t hate you. I promise. He’s just jealous, and probably a little hurt that it wasn’t him that got to you first.” Crosshair chuckled, “Trust me, that wasn’t even bad for Hunter.”
“But did you see the way he looked at me.” You sniffled, “I- he’s never looked at me like that before.”
Crosshair just held you tighter, “I’ve been the receiving end of that look for years. You’re alright, just give him some time.”
“But the others?” All you wanted was your pack, your lovers, your alphas. But they didn’t seem to want you either.
“They just do whatever Hunter does.” Crosshair scratched the back of your neck affectionately, “Wrecker will crack first, and then Tech. Hunter has to punch a few walls first, but he’ll come around eventually. He’s too responsible and frankly, I’m certain all he wants is to have his little omega back.”
Crosshair’s words did start to make you feel better. One thing about Cross is that he’s not a liar. He’s been a straighter shooter his entire life, in more ways than one. He always tells it as it is. That gave you confidence.
He leaned down and kissed your forehead, “I’m just glad we’re out of that place.” He couldn’t seem to get close enough to you. You nuzzled in closer too.
“Thank you Crosshair.” You looked up at him, “Thank you for always taking care of me.”
You both shared a moment of just gazing at one another before you both leaned forwards to bring your lips together.
Then it was like the weight of everything you both had been through came crashing through, and the absolute desire you felt for this man blazed through you like an inferno. He had saved you back on Mimban, twice, and now here he is again saving you from the plans of the empire and admiral Tarkin.
You pushed yourself up and straddled his lap before letting him pick you up and carry you over to the bed pushed up against the far wall.
It was a scramble to tear each others clothes off leaving you both bare, before he laid down onto of you, pressing you into the mattress.
His warm battle hardened body felt marvelous against your softness.
You breathed him in, leaning up to run your tongue against his healed mating gland. The alpha shivered at the sensation making him rut up against you, running his hardening length through your dampening folds.
You mewled lifting your hips to push up against him.
You could feel him smile into your neck as he pressed loving kisses there before kissing your mating mark with a gentleness that was foreign to the sniper.
You squirmed as he pressed more kisses down your neck, then collarbones, your sternum, belly, pelvis, then you thigh. With a strong and firm grip, he plucked your legs up bending them so you were folded in half and spread wide for him. You whined as he continued his light and gentle kisses all over your thighs, traveling between one leg and the other before inching closer and closer to your core making you pant in anticipation.
When his lips finally made contact with your dripping core, you had to cover your mouth with your hand before you let out an embarrassingly loud cry.
He just smirked as he sloppily made out your with cunt making you absolutely thrash around in blinding pleasure under him.
He had to pin your legs down to keep you still as he ravished you. His tongue seemed to know exactly where to go in order to make you twitch as your orgasm approached. He licked and massaged you until you were bending your back into an exaggerated arch as you quickly felt yourself hurtling over that edge into deafening pleasure. You couldn’t even mewl as you came down, you just tried to force yourself to breathe through the orgasm.
“Fuck Cross.” You huffed going limp into the mattress.
He wasted no time lining himself up knowing you were properly prepped to take him now. Feeling how relaxed you were post orgasm, he thrusted forwards feeling himself enter you with a slippery ease. You both moaned out at the fullness as he surged forwards bringing the two of you flush together in absolute harmony. The bond sang between the two of you as you two psychically came together. It was like a relief to the soul. Like slipping into a cool pool on a hot summer day.
He leaned forwards kissing you passionately, allowing his tongue to enter your mouth where you both huffed trying to breathe through the sensations of him pushing inside of you.
You broke away to suck in a deep breath of air before you both looked down to see where you were connected. You both whined at the sight before throwing your head back to enjoy the feeling of Crosshair making passionate love to you.
Wrapping your form around his, you locked your ankles together to force him deeper inside of you. This spurred him on to be a little rougher with you, liking the way you bounced up and down the mattress on his cock. He leaned down to catch a nipple in his mouth as he sucked diligently making you bow your chest into his mouth eagerly.
“Cross…” You grappled at his back leaving scratches with your nails, “I love you.”
He smiled pressing his lips to your forehead, “I love you, Y/n.”
The two of you kept saying it over and over again like a mantra as you both approached the peak.
His thrusts only got more powerful as he neared, sending you scooching up the mattress. You held on for deal life as pleasure crashed through you violently making you clamp down and twitch around his hard length.
He snarled and bit down on your mark again as he shivered, pumping you full of his seed.
As he came down from his high, his teeth held onto the flesh at your gland making you vibrate through the bond. The possessive act only spurred you on. The post coital horniness still lingered as you wiggled your hips trying to feel him inside you more. Deeper. Fuller.
You couldn’t get enough of him.
He tried pinning you down by the hip before releasing your neck from his teeth. As he sat up on his knees with a flush to his cheeks, he looked down at you adoringly as you squirmed around trying to get him deeper inside of you.
“Adi’ka,” He pushed his silver hair out of his eyes and ran a warm hand over your ribs before settling them on your belly like he had on Naboo. You preened under his touch.
“Such a good girl.” He rubbed your warm skin with his thumb.
Looking up through the open monastery window, you saw the dual moons rising in the distance casting a silvery glow over your skin and the mattress.
Crosshair watched you become moon eyed in your post fuck glow. He pulled from you hearing you whimper at the feeling of now being empty. He chuckled, grabbing a tissue near by, and using it to clean himself before tucking himself back into the black joggers along with cleaning you up as best as he could realizing you were just fucking in Rex’s bed. Whoops.
He helped you slip back into your tattered white clothes before curling up behind you under Rex’s blanket to keep you both warm.
Without another word, the two of you fell asleep finally succumbing to the day.
~
When morning broke, you were awakened by Stunner poking his head through the door with a grin that very much reminded you of Fives.
“Hey just making sure you’re both still kickin’.” He grinned.
You heard Crosshair grunt in annoyance and felt him snuggle you closer.
“Gmornin Stun.” Your voice was still groggy from sleep.
“Breakfast in the mess.” Stunner said stepping back outside, “Probably should grab come chow before everyone else.”
You nodded and got up shaking Crosshair’s arm off of you. He curled up on his side ignoring the call to breakfast, but you were still hungry and wanted familiar food. The sniper was content staying in bed for just a moment longer.
You shimmied out of bed giving Cross a kiss before walking out to follow Stunner.
In the daylight you could finally see more about this ancient monastery.
Carvings decorated the walls along with gilded imagery of ancient force wielders. You were positive this monastery was older than most civilizations and maybe even some planets. The pink hazey sky seemed to only add a warmth to this high up colony as you trailed after Stunner who seemed to have learned the way back to the main hall already.
You followed the sound of boisterous laughter and the sounds of reunion as you entered the main mess, the smell of eggs and breakfast meats filled your nose and you audibly sighed smelling the deliciousness in the air.
It was hard to miss your gargantuan mate scarfing down his meal along with Tech who was sitting to his left, back turned to you. He ate in silence scrolling through something on his data pad.
Echo was sitting with Rex who looked like he didn’t sleep after the rescue. He must have been up all night trying to process everyone and everything along with whatever was on that holodrvie you brought. The only one missing was Hunter. Your heart sank hoping he’d be here but when Stunner handed you a loaded tray of food, you were brought back to the moment and you looked down at your purple scrambled eggs and fried bantha links.
Your stomach betrayed you and you heard Stunner chuckle before bringing you to a cluster of 104th. You sat down between Bolts and Grim grabbing your spork to dig in. It wasn’t long before your attention was brought to the back of Wrecker’s head and his broad shoulders. Then you looked at the back of Tech’s head, his hair was all disheveled under his goggle band and he had a bit of a slump to his already not great posture. Poor alpha looked tired.
You stared longingly, praying they’d turn around and just look at you for a moment. Your inner omega was starting to get anxious with the need to have their reassurance and attention.
Before you could get totally lost in your head, Grim gave you a little shove snapping you out of it.
They knew.
Everyone did. You weren’t exactly subtle.
The 104th seemed to have weaseled their way into becoming your pack just like the 501st had all those years ago. It was like they could read your anxieties as well as your mates, and they were very supportive. Wolffe gave you a nod from where he was sat with Rex.
“They’ll come around.” Bolts nodded, “I overheard Wolffe taking with your Sergeant last night, he told him everything.”
“Yeah, but does that even matter?” You touched your bite mark, “What’s done is done.”
“Did the bite make you no longer want your other mates?” Grim asked bluntly.
You shook your head, “No. The bonds are still there.”
Bolts gave you a smile, “Then you’re fine. Maybe being an Ori’sol means that you can have multiple mates and multiple mate bonds to go with them.”
“She’ll be covered in teeth marks when Sarge is done with her.” Grim joked.
You felt your cheeks redden.
“Aye leave her alone.” Bolts reached over you to shove Grim, “She’s going through it.”
“I’m trying to make her smile, or she’s going to loose her mind like those omegas who pull out their hair.” Grim shoved his brother back.
You finished up your last bantha sausage and set the tray down letting them rough house over your head.
You leaned forwards towards Stunner, “Do you know where Hunter is?”
“Sarge took his breakfast outside on the landing platform before I came to get you.” He chewed his eggs.
“Thanks Stun.” You stood up stretching before beginning your walk across the main room. You walked past the circular holo display in the center and was careful to step over the big power cables running over the floor.
You neared Tech and Wrecker feeling your heart start to race as you neared. Keeping your head forward, you walked past them not missing the way they both perked up watching you walk towards the exit. You felt your stomach doing flips at their attention and chose to take one glance back at them. Wrecker looked at you longingly and Tech’s steely demeanor was even chipped at slightly as you saw his eyes soften when they met yours.
Knowing you had to find Hunter first, you sighed and kept moving on. You heard the door swish behind you and you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. You almost wished they’d come after you, but you knew Crosshair was right, they follow Hunter’s lead no matter what. He’s the one you have to tackle first.
With a huff, you felt your anxieties turn to frustration with a tinge of anger.
You put your hands in your sweater pockets and trudged forwards through the rubble that the clones seemed to have built a landing platform out of.
With a sweep of your eyes, you couldn’t find him anywhere, but you could feel his energy through the bond close by.
With a sigh, you crossed your arms and spoke out into the air in front of you, “I know you’re out here.”
Some other clones on guard looked at you funny before they saw your Sargent emerge from behind a pile of rubble with his empty breakfast tray good distance away.
You locked eyes with him and felt your pulse quicken. Damn he looked good. Dawn’s soft pink light made his tanned skin glow. His hair was pushed back by his signature bandana, but he wasn’t in his armor anymore. He was in his beige cargos and teal henley. He still has the burgundy wrist wraps and brown belt with his holster snugly at his side with his blaster tucked neatly inside.
You had to force yourself to breathe and keep your composure but you were sure he could scent your slight arousal in his presence.
You tapped your foot impatiently narrowing your eyes, “You’re a dick!”
He scoffed and stopped walking towards you, crossing his arms defensively, “Excuse me?” He raised his non-tattooed brow and used his military tone. It sent a shiver down your spine.
You saw a couple of the other clones shift uncomfortably nearby watching an omega challenge her alpha.
“You heard me!” Kark ya he heard you, super hearing an all. You could roll your eyes, “I haven’t seen you in a month, I was kidnapped, and subjected to trauma I have no clue if I’ll ever recover from and all I get the fucking silent treatment?”
He stared at you not moving, almost inhumanly still. Like a predatory animal waiting to pounce.
“Do you have any fucking idea what Crosshair and I had to endure? The empire treated me like a brood mare and Crosshair like some glorified stud horse. And what they fucking did to me? Collared me like a rabid lurka hound!” You snarled, “And all I wanted during those awful nights… was you!” You shifted your feet slightly but kept your arms secure around your chest, “All I wanted was my alpha, my mate… my damn sergeant to come make it all better. I dreamed of you for a month praying you’d find me somehow! That I would be back with my pack!”
He opened his mouth to speak but you shushed him with a finger. If you were still in the GAR he would have had you court marshaled for speaking to him like this. The idea made your heart race, “I’m not finished… The things Crosshair did to save me from Tarkin’s bantha shit… he put his life on the line every single day to make sure he didn’t knock me up and that Tarkin couldn’t have our pups. He delayed Tarkin’s orders to come after you and the others, he risked everything to get our message out to you, including the 104th! He doesn’t deserve to be treated the way you have. He protected me inside that fucking base! And this-“ You pointed to your neck, “This was a fucking accident. We weren’t in control and trust me, there is nothing you could say to Crosshair that is worse than what he felt in that moment.” You were breathing heavily now fighting down the anger, “So no… you don’t get to treat us like this. Crosshair and I didn’t do anything wrong, we did everything we could to survive that imperial installation and I’m sorry this didn’t happen the way you wanted it too, but here we are.” You flapped your arms around exasperated.
He studied the way your chest heaved with anger and the way the other clones stood there awkwardly trying not to be seen. He could hear everyone’s heart beats in the vicinity but yours stood out to him the most, including that delicious smell rolling off of you in waves. You might be royally pissed, but he couldn’t help but feel a little smug you were still responding to him and his presence.
He sighed closing his eyes briefly before nodding.
“You’re right.” He yielded, “I am a dick.”
You had to double to take to make sure you were hearing him correctly. Did he just admit to being wrong?
“I shouldn’t have started a fight with Cross, and I shouldn’t have walked away from you.” He kept his arms crossed looking at you, “I was jealous Adi’ka. Seeing you mated to him, it nearly broke my heart. And you telling me, us, that you choose him…You’re all I’ve thought about since we lost you and I don’t know, I was hoping everything would go back to the way it was before…” he gestured to the mark, “But what’s done is done, I guess.” The hint of brokenness in his voice made your anger wither, “You chose Crosshair and I’m just going to have to be okay with that.”
You scrunched your brow, confused you asked, “Wait, do you think our mate bonds were broken?” You shook your head, “Hunter I’m not just bound to Cross, I’m still bound to all of you too…still.”
“But, you’re claimed.” He shook his head a little in confusion.
“Yes, but it didn’t change how I feel about all of you.” You explained, “I can just feel Crosshair a lot stronger now.”
His brows perked up with hope.
“Clearly the claiming marks don’t work the same with me. If I was a normal omega I wouldn’t even be able to comprehend a different alpha. You know this.”
“So, you think everything is still the same?” He asked stepping towards you.
“I do.” You nodded letting him crowd into your space, “I felt you through our bond on Naboo. We’re still mated…”
You were suddenly enveloped in his presence. His familiar scent filled your nose making you vibrate with excitement. You hadn’t even notice him advancing on you.
He reached out a finger to lift your chin to face him. You looked into his grey hazel eyes as he peered down at you.
“Mesh’la...” He sighed, “We’re not mated… yet.” His tone lit a fire in your core. That was a promise. The way he was looking at you, like he had back on Mimban, had you starting to warm. He raised a brow and smirked watching the way you shuddered at the idea of him claiming you.
“H-Hunter.” You whispered his name.
His finger under your chin quickly turned into a soft caress down your neck, “We found a place, love. It’s a green place, with no one but us. It’s in the outer rim, almost in the unknown regions. We found it when Rex was looking for our brothers. We can start over there, no one will know us, the empire can’t find us. We’ll build our own pack, start our own family.” He looked so happy. Happier than you had seen him in a very long time.
You looked up at him owlishly. Just like you had dreamed…
“Tech is already making plans on building the home stead. We want to take you there cyare.”
You blinked at him, you couldn’t believe this man, your Sergeant, was willing to go to such lengths to protect you. To give you everything you dreamed of as a pup. You never thought you’d make it off of Coruscant. And now, you were in an entirely different universe. One where you barely had anytime to process and he was offering you peace.
You looked up at the soldier. You could almost laugh at the irony. A being created with only one purpose, to kill and serve, was offering you peace.
The thought was beautiful.
Despite his creator’s purpose, it would seem Hunter and the Batch’s defectiveness would always remain victorious.
“Yes. Yes Hunter. Bring me to the green place.”
We love hope core in this house....

What We Did on Felucia - Ch 10
Pairing: The Bad Batch x f!Reader
Story Tags: Smut, dubcon, slow burn, sex pollen, eventual polybatch
Chapter Summary: “I’m not drunk enough for this.”
AO3

The flight to Coruscant was far shorter than your journey to Kamino thanks to the Marauder’s customized hyperdrive. You didn’t know what modifications Tech had installed, but it beat a hyperspace ring, cutting travel time roughly in half.
It still left quite a lot of time in a confined space, but it wasn’t as awkward as you thought it would be after the conversation in the barracks, or after your… intimate encounter with Tech. The time was filled with sleeping, cleaning weapons, or playing strategy games with a board balanced on Gonky’s long-suffering chassis.
You were in the midst of scrubbing the carbon scoring off the inner shielding on your disassembled lightsaber when Crosshair sidled up to your chair. He was so silent when he moved, you wouldn’t have known he was there if you didn’t rely so heavily on your other senses. He hadn’t yet mastered the art of moving silently through the Force, though he’d tried to sneak up on you enough times to prove he could.
“Not very covert of you to bring that to 79’s.”
You stopped scrubbing, eyes turned upward in surprise.
“I’m going with you?”
“Well, yeah!” Wrecker chimed in from his seat, feet kicked up on the console with his hands resting behind his head. “What, you thought we were leaving you on the ship?”
“I… suppose not.”
“Hope you have something less conspicuous than robes.”
Crosshair’s critical eye left you frowning.
“Everything I own is what you see before you.”
“You Jedi do travel light,” Hunter observed. He was in another comm seat, his body posture relaxed except for the vibroblade twirling between his fingers.
“We don’t need much,” you said, purposefully not staring at the dancing blade and the deftness of his hand. “Anything we require is supplied by the Temple.”
“Unless they can give you something that shows skin, I doubt they’ll have what you need.”
You frowned further at Crosshair’s unhelpful commentary.
“My robes are perfectly adequate.”
“Yes, for a standard mission.” Tech entered from the cockpit, Echo behind him, his amused expression indicating he’d been listening. Tech, meanwhile, appeared only tangentially interested, leaning on the console near Wrecker’s feet with his datapad in hand. “Think of this as a more… covert operation.”
Echo took pity on your obvious confusion.
“Two kinds of people frequent 79’s: clones and civilians. A Jedi general would, well, draw attention. Outside of missions, clones and Jedi don’t really… mingle.”
Ah. That would make sense.
“We could go somewhere else,” Hunter offered, and the knife went still before he slid it into the sheath along his forearm. “A different bar. Most places aren’t exactly clone-friendly, but if you would be more comfortable…”
You shook your head to stop him. His thoughtfulness was unnecessary, though it was sweet.
“Actually, I’ve been curious about 79’s. The older cadets talk about it often.”
“For good reason!” Wrecker boasted. “Lots of cheap drinks and food!”
His enthusiasm was almost contagious; you might actually look forward to this. It would certainly be an adventure, one that was less likely to end in blaster fire than most of your missions.
“So, you’re saying I need to blend in?”
“That is what I am saying,” Tech said.
“Which means no stuffy Jedi robes,” Crosshair added.
“They’re not stuffy,” you repeated, but your defense of your wardrobe didn’t convince anyone. “And I’ve only had a handful of robes over the years. I have nothing else.”
Tech’s datapad was forgotten at his side as he stared at you, rubbing his chin in a way that usually meant he had come up with a plan involving a lot of explosions and running.
“We could improvise.”
Crosshair also appraised you through narrowed eyes.
“Yes. That could work.”
You looked between them as the urge to find cover increased.
“What would work?”
Crosshair smiled, and that many teeth didn’t bode well for you.
“We could make those stuffy robes a little less stuffy.”
“Removing a few layers should do the trick,” Tech concluded.
“Oh, no.”
They either didn’t hear your quiet horror, or they chose to ignore it.
This was why you weren’t chosen for infiltration missions.
You were sure you stuck out like a Wookiee in a crowd of Jawas, but between the thudding music, pulsing lights, and the sea of undulating bodies, no one looked your way. Nor did anyone care about your eclectic outfit, which consisted of your body suit and only two of your sashes. They crisscrossed over your chest and belted at the waist, covering you only to mid-thigh.
You also wore your knee-high boots, and a maroon shawl Hunter had pulled from somewhere on the ship looped over your hair and covered your non-human face in shadows. Cathar outside of your home system were still rare, and it wouldn’t be difficult to guess your identity.
Altogether, the ensemble wasn’t dissimilar to some of the civilian club outfits you saw, but without your lightsaber, you felt entirely naked. Unwilling to leave it behind, Tech had offered to loop it on his belt along with his other tools. Seeing your weapon hanging from his hip did something to your insides that you didn’t examine.
Hunter led the squad through the crowd, and it was a testament to how inebriated and distracted the off-duty clones were that they hardly noticed or cared about the Batch’s presence. Which was good, you really didn’t want to break up any fights at the bar. You’d done enough of that at Tipoca City’s cantina.
A hand settled on the small of your back, guiding you through a concentration of bodies, and Echo moved close so he could be heard above the music.
“It can be overwhelming at first, especially for sensitive folk. Just don’t get lost in the crowd.”
There wasn’t much chance of that; reaching out and sensing your men through the Force was as automatic as breathing, which you had a hard time doing with Echo’s mouth brushing against your ear.
Expecting to gather around the bar or take one of the circular tables edging the room, you were surprised when you were led into a private backroom. A circular booth surrounded a low, round table, the dim lights overhead casting the room in an intimate setting.
“Figured we would appreciate the privacy,” Hunter explained with a gesture made toward the booth. “Have a seat, and Wrecker and I will bring some drinks.”
You nodded and took a place on the long, curved seat, failing to adjust the tabards across your chest so they wouldn’t fall in a provocative way. Even though you were covered with the body suit—which had been an argument itself since Crosshair had tried to convince you to go topless—it still felt like a very un-Jedi-like thing to wear.
Echo said, “I’ll be back. Saw some familiar faces out there,” and then followed the other two out the beaded curtain entrance.
“We all have familiar faces,” Tech muttered. You breathed out a laugh, and he blinked at you, not understanding the joke.
You ended up wedged between Tech on your right, Crosshair on your left, the latter pressed against your side without a shred of subtlety.
“This is cozy,” the sniper drawled.
“Yes,” Tech observed, prodding the seat next to his leg, “these cushions are plusher than the ones in the main room.”
“That’s not what I mean.” He took a lock of your loose hair and wrapped it around his finger as he leaned into your space. “So, you two had fun on the ship?”
Tech fixed Crosshair with a look that seemed to dare him to comment further.
“Why do you wish to know?”
Crosshair ignored Tech’s question and his glare, instead focusing on you with half-lidded eyes and a small smile.
“Didn’t expect you to make a move so soon, princess.”
Your fur ruffled and you were suddenly too hot.
“It wasn’t like that.”
“Heat of the moment, then?” Crosshair’s brows raised in mock surprise. “I thought you Jedi had more self-control than that.”
Tech stiffened at your side. You reached under the table and took his hand, threading your fingers between his. He relaxed, understanding you weren’t bothered by Crosshair’s words. In fact, the longer you looked him in the eye, the more you sensed something very interesting under the surface.
“Perhaps giving someone else control is the point,” you mused, curling your lips. Crosshair’s eyes went a fraction wider, the pupils dilating in a reaction he couldn’t hide. You leaned in and pressed your fingertip to the crest of his chest plate. “Is that what you want, Crosshair? For me to take control?”
He swallowed heavily and no words came out. Crosshair, finally made speechless. You wouldn’t have thought it possible if you hadn’t seen it yourself.
Saved from having to answer, or more likely, to continue floundering, Wrecker and Hunter entered the room carrying bowls of snacks and an assortment of mugs and shot glasses. The large mugs were filled with a bubbly golden alcohol, while the shot glasses contained glowing blue liquid. The bowls held nuts, crackers, and fried chips, tantalizing after two days of ration bars.
Echo sat between Tech and Wrecker, while Hunter sat on Crosshair’s other side. As they settled in, Tech leaned over and said in a low voice, “I don’t think I’ve seen anyone handle Crosshair that effectively before. I am incredibly aroused.”
You choked, unfortunately in the midst of taking your first drink of golden alcohol.
“Whoa, easy there,” Echo joked. “Plenty to go around.”
“I apologize. Should I not have said that?”
You wiped your mouth off on the back of your covered arm, coughing your airways clear.
“Perhaps not when something’s in my mouth.”
By Tech’s sudden devious expression, he understood the unfortunate innuendo.
“I shall make a note.”
“Like I said, lots of cheap food and drinks!” Wrecker pointed out, unknowingly saving you from being under Tech’s teasing scrutiny. None of the others had heard the exchange of words except, you belatedly realized, that wasn’t true. There was someone who would have heard, and Hunter’s heavy side eye was a mixture of amused and exasperated. His silent attention had followed you for most of the trip, even after you took a sonic shower and it should have been impossible for him to smell anything lingering.
You warmed under his gaze now, just as you had every time you sensed it on the Marauder.
“Not to mention the clone chasers.”
Crosshair’s silky words drew you back to the present. You frowned.
“Someone chases you?”
With a hand rubbing the back of his neck, Echo said, “In a sense. They’re civilians who come to 79’s with the, uh… intention of leaving with a clone.”
Your eyes widened in sudden understanding.
“Has that happened to any of you before?”
The question came without thought, and you winced at your own boldness, but the others reacted in their own varied ways. Echo and Hunter both looked awkward, while Wrecker let out a scoff.
“Nah, I just come here to have fun.”
Crosshair leaned his elbows on the table and said in a smooth tone, “Some would consider sex to be fun.”
Wrecker made a face at him.
“Not with some stranger tryin’ to get me drunk! As if they could! Hah!”
“I, too, am disinclined to leave the bar with someone who views what should be an intimate evening as nothing more than a victory tally.” Tech squeezed your hand, and you flushed pleasant heat across your skin. For someone who didn’t think he had a chance getting your attention, he was very good at this.
Crosshair leaned back in his seat, which put his shoulders square against yours again. He made a noise of disbelief, but you were distracted by his hand finding its way to your thigh, fingers toying with the ends of your sash.
“They’re making it sound like a frequent occurrence. It’s not.” His tone was perfectly even, as if his hand wasn’t so high up your leg.
“You don’t come here often?” you asked, matching his casual tone with some degree of success.
“No, we’re not usually a target.” Crosshair leaned closer, and though his tone held a kind of hostile disgust, his fingers moved from the sash directly to your thigh, and you could feel his warmth even through your suit and his gloves. “The vultures at the reg bar think we aren’t clone enough. Shocking, I know.”
You frowned, not liking the sound of these kinds of patrons.
Tech perked up and said, “They do have a penchant for Hunter.”
You looked up at Hunter, surprised to see his cheeks darken.
“That’s one reason why I sometimes leave early.”
Something molten and sharp twisted your belly, hot and unpleasant and strange. You tried to keep your tone light, but it sounded forced to your own ears.
“Oh. I see.”
His flush deepened as he waved his hands, eyes wide in panic.
“No, no, no, I didn’t mean it like that.”
Wrecker bellowed with laughter, almost spilling his own golden mug as he explained, “Hunter gets shy from all the attention.”
Crosshair’s grin was small but delighted.
“You mean he runs for cover like he’s taking enemy fire.”
The odd sensation eased within you, and the sting of shame followed after. What was that? It was such a strong sensation, appeared from nowhere, and left just as quickly.
Hunter sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose as Wrecker gave another guffaw. Echo leaned back with his arms folded across his chest, a sparkle in his eye as he said, “Oh, I have a feeling Hunter won’t be bothered tonight.”
His smile was a little too knowing, and suddenly more pairs of eyes were turned on you, so you cleared your throat and turned the topic back to him.
“What about you? Any tales of the bar to tell?”
Echo winced.
“Not any happy ones.”
“I’m sorry,” you said, immediately regretting the question, but he simply shrugged.
“Don’t be. I’ve had better experiences since then.” This time, when he smiled, it was warm, lighting his face in a way that left you a little bit stunned. He hid it well, but when his mouth tilted a particular way and his eyes brightened with silent laughter, he was… pretty. There was no other word for it.
You quickly turned to Crosshair next, expectant. He had found a toothpick to chew on, and he pulled it out of his mouth to roll between two long fingers.
“Something you need?”
Right. Crosshair wasn’t the most open about… well, anything. You gave him a look that said we’ll revisit this later, and turned to the others, able to see all their faces thanks to the curve of the booth.
“I know it’s a very personal subject, and I don’t mean to pry. I suppose it’s been something on my mind, and… Well, Felucia was… my first experience.”
It was strange to say it aloud in a public space, as if acknowledging the act made it real in a way it hadn’t been before. And yet, it felt as if a great weight lifted off your shoulders. And better yet, none of them seemed uncomfortable by the reminder of what happened, and you eased further.
“You’re curious, nothing wrong with that.” Hunter’s smile was faint but kind. “I can say for most of us, you’re our first.”
You flushed warm.
“You’re the only one we need!” Wrecker proclaimed with a slosh of his mug.
“Wrecker,” Hunter sighed in warning.
“What? It’s true! No one’s better for us than our Jedi.”
The heat radiating from your face could have been its own thermal generator.
“I… I’m flattered,” you sputtered, “but I don’t expect you to be… exclusive to me. I assume you want to be with others, either now or… eventually.”
That earned you frowns of various degrees, and Tech said, “Your assumptions are based on inaccurate data.”
“Why would we want that?” Echo added. Crosshair moved closer, his words like a serpent weaving across your skin.
“Maybe you’re the one who doesn’t want exclusivity.”
You frowned at him, more confused than offended.
“Who else could I possibly want?”
“Another Jedi?” Echo smiled at your blank expression. “I don’t think you realize the draw of the Jedi. Especially for clones.”
Wrecker laughed at whatever your expression held. Crosshair snickered too, and even Hunter seemed to fight a smile.
“You can’t be serious.”
“I’m completely serious,” Echo said.
“There are millions of written works and visual media depicting the Jedi in romantic and sexual encounters,” Tech explained. “There seems to be an undeniable mysterious allure to the Jedi, as well as a certain taboo element. ‘Forbidden love’ is a popular subgenre across many of these depictions.”
“He would know,” Crosshair purred in your ear. “He has a collection.”
Tech glared across you straight to his brother.
“Those were for research.”
“Yeah, ‘research.’” Wrecker made quotation marks in the air, and Tech gave him a cutting look that could slice durasteel beams in half.
Echo ignored the silent battle of wills.
“Factor all that, and then consider the bonds that clones form with their generals. Seems inevitable, doesn’t it? Most clones I know had feelings for their Jedi at one time or another. Some grow out of it, but… a lot of us don’t.”
Something in his gaze caused a funny flutter in your stomach. And then it clicked.
“Wait.” You leaned forward. “When you painted me on the side of the Marauder, that wasn’t some sort of hazing ritual?”
Wrecker grinned, proud of the art he’d created. It had been a very good likeness of you, though the sultry lay of your robes exposing bare legs and cleavage were far more flattering than the reality.
“Nope!”
“I thought Hunter was going to have a heart attack,” Echo said, an amused glance toward their leader.
Hunter sighed.
“And I thought you would ask for a transfer before our first mission.”
Yes, you remembered how flustered Hunter had been before he ordered them to get the paint remover, leaving you to believe it had been a friendly joke.
“I’m glad you didn’t,” Hunter added, his expression a little bit warmer. You smiled back, but Crosshair wasn’t finished adding his own commentary.
“Hunter practically threatened to throw us into the Kaminoan sea if we did anything to ‘screw up a good thing.’”
Hunter gave him a cool look.
“Oh, I would have. Nothing practically about it.”
You stared at him, brows raised, and Hunter winced.
“I didn’t want our squad to be reassigned to some rigid general who wouldn’t mesh well with our tactics,” he explained. “You seemed like a good fit.”
“Doesn’t hurt you were easy on the eyes,” Crosshair purred. “Hunter’s words.”
Hunter’s glare could have rivaled Tech’s earlier seething stares, and you made an amused noise to draw his attention.
“Easy on the eyes, Sargeant?” you teased, and, oh yes, you were starting to feel the effects of the golden alcohol. “Did you find me attractive?”
If you thought he would fold into a blushing mess, you were wrong.
“Still do.”
You turned to your own mug, unable to meet his eye when he smiled at you like that. You drained the entire glass, and when you placed it empty on the table, you caught the stares of your men.
“What?” You wiped the back of your hand against your arm. “Jedi can drink.”
Wrecker whooped, “Yeah, they can!”
“Apparently so,” Tech said, pushing up his goggles with a finger between his eyes.
“You forgot the shot.”
You weren’t sure if your flush was due to the alcohol or Crosshair’s silky voice in your ear. He indicated the small glass of blue liquid, and you took the shot and swallowed it straight down. The fire hit your stomach and throat a second later, and you must have made some kind of face, because chuckles sounded from the rest of the squad.
Crosshair took the pitcher of golden spirits and refilled your mug, which you quickly downed to wash away the simmer of fire.
Tech leaned closer, his focus on your face.
“Out of curiosity, can you suppress the symptoms of your own intoxication by use of the Force?”
“Perhaps,” you said with a little smile. Jedi could, in fact, clear their minds of many induced effects of the body, but they weren’t exactly supposed to be used for a night at the bar.
Wrecker raised his mug at you, and his eyes glittered as he downed the whole thing in one go.
“All right, it’s not a contest,” Hunter said. “There’s no reason to drink so fast—”
“We could make it a contest.”
Tech looked at Crosshair thoughtfully.
“Enhanced clone metabolism versus Jedi self-regulation via the Force?”
“No, no experiments at the bar,” Hunter protested in a way that indicated this wasn’t the first time it had happened. Tech frowned.
“It’s a simple field test, Hunter. I can chaperone the participants while also recording the results.”
Hunter sighed, knowing when he was outnumbered.
“Go easy on your sergeant,” you chided them. “He doesn’t need another heart attack.”
“You’re hilarious, General.”
“Mmm, aren’t I?”
You propped your chin on your hand while grinning at Hunter, and your elbow immediately slipped on leftover crumbs. If not for Tech grabbing your shoulders, you would have gone face-first into the table.
Hunter shook his head and mumbled, “I’m not drunk enough for this.”
As if waiting the entire night for the opportunity, Crosshair refilled another golden mug and placed it in front of Hunter, his mouth curved and wicked.
“We can fix that.”

Yes, I immediately got the Star Wars Outlaws Wild Card DLC because I couldn’t wait for more adventures of my fave trio. While I'm not that far in the game yet, it's everything I hoped for so far.
I love the setting of the fancy casino ship (which reminds me a bit of the cruise ship from The 5th Element) and I already got tons of ideas for Kay x ND-5 AUs based on the dlc.
Putting the ideas behind the cut because some spoilers included but first, don't they look good striding side by side into the casino like they own the place?
Okay now to ideas...
First I loved the little bits of ND & Nix interaction during the hyperspace jump showing how much ND has grown to care for Nix. The way he was so excited when it looked like Nix was flying the ship. That was just adorable, he's becoming such a pet person. He's like one step aways from buying Nix more cute little outfits.
I also loved the usual banter between Kay and ND. Like when she teased him at the reception and him begrudgedly going along with it, or when he "socialized" at the bar. I just love every interaction of them!
Only One Bed AU:
Kay asking for an upgrade and they actually get one but it's the honeymoon suite! There are no other rooms vacant and as a droid, ND wouldn't get one, so they have to share the room and all the best typical rom com stuff happens. ND turning awkwardly around when Kay’s changing clothes or catching a peak when she comes out of the shower (maybe the door malfunctions and just slides open at the right moment...). Kay not able to sleep with ND in the same room - or she does fall asleep and has some interesting dreams that ND can't ignore...
Also Kay going wild with the room service because she never had it!
Bar Date AU
That's it! That’s all I could think about when he said he's waiting at the bar. And with the way they made him lean so casually against the bar - oh the creators definitely knew what they were doing!
Fancy Attire AU
While I really like Kay’s new outfit, I would have also loved to see her in a fancy dress for the sabacc event, the smoking sight of her short circuiting ND's systems. ND in a suit would have been nice too.
Jealousy AU
Lando shamelessly flirting with Kay at the casino makes ND jealous.
Or it's Kay getting jealous when one of his contacts on the ship turns out to be ND's ex or when the droid running the casino ship takes a liking in ND.
One Night Stand AU
Kay and ND don’t know each other prior to meeting on the casino ship. They're working for different syndicates (like Mr & Mrs Smith) or ND is a free droid/still working for Jaylen. They meet at the bar and hook up.... and probably break the bed.

Se’ahn Ikett is a newly made Padawan joining her master on a Republic hyperlane prospecting team during the Hyperspace rush in 383 BBY. Adventure awaits!
This is my very first phase ii character (with more on the way!!) her master belongs to my friend. I had a lot of fun with her colors and I gave her ears bc Zeen has ears. Mikkians are kind of strange idk.
She’s just a silly little kid and her lightsaber is cool as heck.
