How would somebody go about adapting Invisible Cities as a video game?
The main thing I'm thinking of here are games which play heavily with the movement of the camera, replacing entrances and exits as you move through them and cutting up the screen to convey the way that the Cities are described through vignettes.

This is great; I love to learn about art
AND
When I got to the final comment here, I was incredulous. "Reading comprehension on this site is piss-poor," I muttered aloud from the bathroom. The idea that someone would so misinterpret the OP that they would call them a fascist for believing the opposite of that post's meaning shocked me.
So, I took it to my partner, Jaz, and asked them to explain the post back to me. They didn't produce MY interpretation (which is, for the record, "people say it's a crime to ruin the nuances of a physical painting but Wikipedia, which is where most people will ever see it, has a tiny shitty image"), but when asked if their interpretation ("people threw red paint on a painting so red it only takes 2kB to represent; it is silly to complain") was bad enough to harass the OP about, they just said "not my circus, not my monkeys".
Which I think demonstrates two critical skills for social media: in Jaz's case, ignore & move on if someone seems to have a common, mildly shitty interpretation; in mine, search for the most charitable interpretation of people's words
Also, it occurred to me in writing this that 1) no one said OP was getting yelled at, just that a) they clarified the original intent and b) garden-variety rejection of modern art is often a fascist project, and 2) the tone of the first reblog was in fact pretty hostile and admonishing to OP, but I just kinda mentally edited it down to "yeah paintings are just really hard to photograph", so uh
We Are All

BREAKING: Neptunian government announces plans for Dyson sphere"We have a lot of ideas about expanding our energy system and the country. We want to increase capacity. Nice Grabthar’s Hammer reference in your HTML...
siikr helpfully drags up sufficientlylargen.tumb…
Oh man, I love that when I replied to this from my activity page the full message appeared but the URL wasn’t a link (I had to make it one myself), but if I reply from the dashboard tumblr makes it a link automatically but also truncates the message.
Both versions still have the helpful feature where if I ever hit ⌘-Z to undo anything it inserts several blank lines in the middle of the first line, though. I’m glad that’s consistent, at least.

Pal Park locations of Gen IV Pokémon
According to Bulbapedia, ""Pokémon introduced in Generation IV have Pal Park locations and score values programmed in, even though they cannot be migrated from Generation III". I'd love to find out these locations because I like sorting my PC boxes by habitat.
This was discussed on ProjectPokemon back in 2009, and Poryhack wrote that the info I'm looking for is "contained in /arc/ppark.narc (in a DPPt ROM)". I experimented with different ROM editing software, but I have no idea how to use them and make the data readable for me. I'd be really happy if someone could help me with this, just for curiosity's sake!
UPDATE: @hymneminium pointed out that veekun.com includes this information in their Pokédex. Thank you!

that article sure does make some silly assumptions (mostly summed up in the “sentience multiplier”). I’ll be real with you: I don’t think internal state awareness of suffering is, by itself, particularly significant, even though it’s something we should obviously care about in the case of some beings.
I mean, I could make an automata that tracks an internal variable labeled “pain”, and I wouldn’t be opposed to increasing that variable.
I think sentience is a bit of a distraction, especially if we’re talking about “chance of being sentient” instead of “type / depth of sentience”. For example, the depth / awareness of suffering that a human has seems to have more depth than an insect does. Even apart from that, maybe I care particularly about beings that can have preferences about the long term future, and would put beings with only preferences about the present in a different category.
It’s pretty easy to reduce this sort of math to absurdity: I could say that “each grain of a plant may have an extremely small chance of experiencing suffering, because I can’t psychically know the inner world of plants”, multiply a very small number by the amount of grains we cook, and come up with some stunning conclusions. But you see the issue with morality based on low chances multiplied by large systems. It’s like the pascal’s wager of food: asserting that there’s a chance instead of actually trying to prove one way or the other; not something that’s worth taking action on.

How do you feel about birds?
For the most part, I just like cute things and birds have cute patterns. The thing about birds is that they’re this whole people with their own culture who have their own aggregated body of culture. Sometimes they’re seen as cute and likable, but more often than not they seem like antagonists with no redeeming qualities. But I guess I just don’t mind them, or that people who do mind them.
(Also, like I said, sometimes they’re cute. A lot of times they’re just plain large bloody things, with big horrible eyes, but that’s kind of quirk of the form. And the particular pattern of bloody eyes has never really bothered me.)

While many would disagree,
While many would disagree, the word "sperm" in the English language may very well denote a single type of organism. It is also possible, although perhaps almost certainly not the case, that "sperm" in general may also refer to the process of reproductive selection or mutation. There is no clear "science" on how far the term in the English language can go in answering this question but the evidence of an association with sperm and reproductive success (or even mortality in general) seems undeniable. But some scientists have suggested different interpretations of this case. The theory is based on genetic variants that predispose women to a lower quality of life. For example."If you're having the most successful sperm in any individual's lifetime, then that implies that you're being a terrible spermator," says Alan Siegel, a professor of human reproduction at the University of New South Wales.Samples of sperm and the sperm sample can be used to test a woman's ability to reproduce and determine how many more she has.But whether or not such evidence actually means that women are in any way superior to men who are less successful in a single sperm method is not settled yet.Samples of blood from men and women are the best examples of possible differences. The researchers are working on an analysis of the sperm test they used at a previous study and the findings appear in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.Other recent worksIn 2015, in his seminal paper on "Sex Differences in the Human Reproduction Cycle", a team led by neuroscientists, the professor of psychology and psychology of the University of Sheffield used samples of male and female volunteers at the University of Edinburgh to examine the effect of the age-related characteristics (SEM) on sperm count and fecundity compared to men and women across a range of different sexual activities, such as smoking, eating and sex.The researchers determined that the levels of Semicerin B in all human tissues, including muscles and blood vessels, correlated with the prevalence and prevalence of SEM. Although Semicerin B was found to be significantly associated with sperm counts (although not mortality) in people over the age of 40, it did not correlate with women.Although not found to be biologically relevant as some human genetic variants might explain the association with Semicerin B, the results were consistent with what they observed for both sexes. As the researchers note in the paper: "

Berkson’s paradox! Thanks, @hymneminium and @sigmaleph!
Is there a widely used name for the statistical phenomenon where, due to selection effects, you see a "spectrum" that isn't present in the unselected population?
For example, if people have a conscientiousness variable X and an intelligence variable Y, and only people with X+Y > $threshold get into college, then, among college students, X will anticorrelate with Y.

How can the net amount of entropy of the universe be massively decreased?
How can the net amount of entropy of the universe be massively decreased? An extra layer of entropy allows for a considerable reduction in overall entropy: (a) the quantities of information needed for a first journey into space are reduced; and (b) if all air is allowed to pass through, then the total entropy of the universe would be reduced. In so doing, it would still be possible to gain a huge scalar effect on the total entropy of the entire universe.
A second number to consider is the entropy of the entire electromagnetic field of matter. It is given below:
The field of matter is an electromagnetic field (such as a regular electromagnetic field).
When concentric room is used, the field of matter is 1000x more massive than the universe. (Klein and Kinzig 1965, "Quantum Mechanics of War," pp. 1 - 2) Suppose that the particle of matter, R- = 12, is present in space, and has a mass, KB, of a force of E = 4. It would be a trivial amount of entangled matter to (1-K) create a force of E = 12, which would be the large enough amount of quantum-mechanical perturbations to make a perfect electromagnetic field. Thus, when confronted with an electromagnetic field, the number of entangled particles at the center of the field of matter is minimal, and thus negligible.
6E24 If we take the number of entangled particles at the surface of the electromagnetic field as the x-axis of the total entropy of the universe, we get an entropy gradient of (1, -x)x, which–if all scientists cannot think of a zero–is a very small number.
7E24 Suppose we take the average entropy of the universe as the x-axis of the total entropy of 4. A consequence of this is that even though entropy to be a constant is limited by the number of particles and the constant of a mass, the average entropy of the universe is not considerably large. (Klein and Kinzig 1965, "Quantum Mechanics of War," pp. 6 - 7)
