the shooting star
I'm sure this observation was pointed out before, but I can't find it anywhere to quote it. Original post, you take all the credit. I just needed to express my thoughts because I can't stop thinking about it.
I feel like it's been a hot minute since the last time I've made one of these, but here I go.
the scenes
In chapter 64, Gon and Killua promise to stay together under the stars and they have a heart-to-heart. When the scene ends, we see a shooting star in the sky.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
English Translation: VIZ Media
In chapter 286, Killua talks about commiting "shinjū" with Gon (translated as "I'll go down with flames with him") to Meleoron, tries to make it seem like a joke and Meleoron's inner monologue makes us understand there's more to the story than what Killua is saying out loud. When the scene ends, we again see a shooting star in the sky (and move to Gon and Pitou's scene.)

side-note
Do I really think that this detail has a bigger meaning than it has? No, Togashi most probably just likes shooting stars and thought this was a good transition between scenes. However, I think it would make a nice analysis if I connect the concept of the shooting star with certain aspects that are present in both scenes and the story in general. I just couldn't help myself, I find it so interesting and beautiful.
my brief and informal analysis
To begin with, what does it mean to see a shooting star? There's three popular and mostly global beliefs I would like to point out.
1) Wishes: Shooting stars have always been associated with dreams, wishes and promises. Many believe that if you make a wish on the shooting star, it will come true.
2) Positive Change: They are typically considered to be signs or messages from the Universe. They tend to symbolize new beginnings, transformations, and spiritual development.
In relation to these two, I believe it would be also connected to the meaning of encouragement. It can serve as encouragement to take risks or make important life decisions.
3) A Sign of Love: Seeing a shooting star can represent the love and connection between two people.
Then, which of these meanings are actually related to these scenes? The three of them, but let me explain a bit more.
In the first scene, Gon and Killua promise to stay together and continue their journey. As shooting stars are often associated with wishes or promises, in this context, it could symbolize the sincerity and earnestness of their promise to each other. By including the shooting star at the end of the scene, it seals their promise and it also marks a new beginning for them. At that moment, they are making an important decision in their lives, it's a new and positive change for them.
For the next meaning, I would like to point out first what scenes with two people under the stars at night usually mean. As we probably know, those type of scenes are ideal for characters to share their feelings and even secrets. The darkness and the soft lighting of the stars allow this space of intimacy to just talk to someone, which is what Gon and Killua do. They are already friends, but it's at that moment that they talk about what they are going to do and speak about topics such as Mito. The shooting star marks a significant bond between Gon and Killua. It represents their connection and love (platonic or not) for each other, as shooting stars can also symbolize a new love. This is related to the hope we have when seeing a shooting star, which is connected to that hope (and excitement) we feel when we start a new relationship. Using the shooting star could work as a narrative device to highlight the importance of this moment and the bond between Gon and Killua.
In the second scene, Killua discusses the possibility of a double suicide if something were to happen. Again, the shooting star appears at the end before transitioning to the next scene.
As I said before, shooting stars commonly symbolize wishes and promises. In this context, it could symbolize Killua's inner turmoil and/or even his determination to protect Gon (and be with him), possibly hinting at a resolution or decision he has made internally. Because of his words, we can guess he made the decision to die with Gon if that's what is needed. What he says can even foreshadow significant events or intense emotions, such as the ones that follow in the story. For example, Killua running to reach Gon and save him. It could even be related to other characters, such as Meruem and Komugi committing double suicide.
Killua's statement about a double suicide is a serious and intense moment, and the shooting star might emphasize the gravity of the situation. In this case, I wouldn't say this is a "positive change," though we could argue that for Killua maybe it would have been because Gon would have included him.
However, it is a moment in which Killua makes a big decision, one that would take to risk practically his life just to stay with Gon or protect him.
In addition to this, it could also bring us back to the first scene, in which they promise to stay together, symbolizing their strong bond. This is emphasized by the fact that the next scene is about Gon and Pitou. However, in this case, both Gon and Killua seem to be in different head-spaces. On one hand, Killua is worried he could lose Gon to the darkness, as he feels their bond is wavering and he can't reach him no matter how much he tries. On the other hand, Gon is too focused on his goal to save Kite. He is in too much pain and despair while trying to control the situation on his own terms.
In both instances, the shooting stars seem to add a layer of emotional depth and narrative emphasis to the scenes. They highlight the sincerity of promises, the intensity of emotions, and the transient nature of crucial moments in Gon and Killua's lives.
side-note
Something that adds to my delusional mind to all of these and I think it's really interesting is the following:
The fourth ending Nagareboshi Kirari seems to mean "sparkling shooting star". The song is an exploration of longing and hope, entrusting wishes to the stars, unanswered thoughts and unspoken feelings. It delves into the theme of connection, particularly the emotional bond between the narrator and a distant loved one. There's a lot to say about this song and its lyrics, but that should be a whole new post.
I think the song speaks perfectly about Gon and Killua's situation in general (not only about what I mention here, of course) and I think it's a good way to finish this post.
Thank you so much for reading! Have a good day or night, whichever the time is when you're seeing this.

hey! Good day :) here to ask a question!! I was wondering about your process for analysis, character analysis, theme analysis- do you just write or are there specific things you look for? I suppose I’m curious if you have an idea/general gist of what you’re doing or steps you take to do your breakdowns. I’m trying to do something similar out of interest and your works are simply fascinating to read. I look up to your writing a lot!
hello!! Can I ask how you started analysing shows, how you went about it? I’m learning literary analysis and trying to do the same for hunter x hunter but I find it infinitely harder to analyse shows. Especially since I most notably consider diction in literary analysis lol
Hi!
Thank you for your nice words anon(s) and yay! I love meta-asks <3<3<3
So, it depends on the meta. In general, I try to focus on a specific topic, which can be:
a character (arc + foiling between characters)
a theme
the use of a specific motif, when it comes to a character or a theme
These are my three favourite kinds of analyses, but there are other types, as well. For example, some people are really into plot theories/predictions. Others prefer to focus on characters from a psychological viewpoint. Some other writers like to use philosophical lens or to compare different works. It really depends on your preference.
My preference is mostly for thematic analyses. This means that my character metas too tend to use a thematic lens. So...
WHAT IS THE THEME?
In short, the theme of a story is both:
the topic the story is exploring
the moral of the story, aka a phrase which summarizes its message
Stories explores topics through characters and plot, while the way the conflict is solved tells us the moral.
Some examples:
RWBY's main topic is humanity in both its weakness and strength and its moral is that victory is in a simple soul
Madoka's main topic is wishes and its moral is that it is worth to want things and to fight for them, even if it is painful
HXH is strange structurally, but its main topic is self-search, with its moral being that a person should not focus on the goal, but enjoy the journey
All of these messages and ideas aren't just things stated in dialogues (even if someone saying the theme helps). They emerge from the story itself.
RWBY's main conflict is about a destroyed world (remnant) surviving the anger of an evil witch (Salem). If humans let hate divide them, they lose. If they unite, they win. The main thematic question is then... can humans make the right choice? And the answer is that they can, as long as they remain simple souls (Ruby, but also Pyrrha at Beacon, Blake in Managerie, Yang in Mistral, Weiss with her family, JNR when they tag along and Penny in Atlas). The main message is that several people making the right choice leads to change. And that is humanity. This is why the characters keep being asked to give up their idealism and to embrace a more utilitarian way of doing things. And this is why every time they refuse and stick to their idealism. The conflict itself keeps testing their resolution.
Madoka's power system works through wishes, so the girls' powers and their backstories are all defined by their wishes and by how they relate to them. Madoka doesn't know what she wants. Homura's wish turns into an obsession. Mami makes a wish too early and thinks only about herself. Kyouko and Sayaka make a wish for someone else and have opposite reactions to their wishes ending poorly. Finally, it is revealed the girls' wishes are literally the force that keeps the world at balance. So, the plot, character arcs, conflict and worldbuilding are all about wishes.
HXH is made up of several arcs and each arc has its own theme. That said, the overall structure conveys the main theme. Gon's objective is to find Ging, but he keeps taking detours and getting engulfed in unrelated conflicts. However, the moment he meets Ging he realizes it is not his father who defines him, but rather it is all the people he met in his journey and his own experiences. Basically, HXH's strange structure conveys the main theme.
So, the theme (both topic and moral) should emerge by the characters, the worldbuilding, the conflict and sometimes even by the structure itself. In order to find it, one should start with the topic and ask themselves "What does the story really talk about?". The answer to this question will let you understand the theme as topic. The second step is to see how the story explores it.
DIFFERENT POINTS OF VIEW ON THE TOPIC
There are different ways a story can explore a topic. Still, the best stories have different perspectives clash with each other. Very often these different points of view are embodied by different characters.
Here are some examples, with some linked metas that explore the respective stories more in depth.
Madoka (topic= wishes):
Tumblr media
Homura is determined to fulfill her wish no matter what
Kyubey is her opposite, as they are unable to wish since they lack feelings. This is why they need to recruit girls into creating energy through wishes
Madoka is in the middle, as she wants to wish for something, but doesn't know what
Mami, Kyouko and Sayaka all explore negative effects linked to wishes, which are connected to other secondary themes. Specifically, Mami explores the consequences of an immature wish, while Sayaka and Kyouko explore the selfishness/selflessness inherent in wishes
The conflict is solved through Madoka learning about the price of wishes, but still choosing to make a wish and to sacrifice her whole self for it. This ending conveys a specific moral: despite the pain and sacrifice that comes with them, wishes are still beautiful and worth it all. If Madoka had chosen to give up being a magical girl and had ended up the series without making a wish, the moral would have been the opposite: that a normal life is better than grandiose and dangerous dreams.
Monster (topic = the value of life)
Tumblr media
Tenma believes that all lives are equal, which is why he chooses to save Johan as a child, despite being ordered to operate a far more influential patient.
Eva and Nina believe that not all lives are equal. In particular, Eva thinks that social status and importance in society influence the value of one's life. Nina instead believes that people who commit crime should be punished and lose their lives.
Johan believes no-life has value, including his own. In his words, the only thing all humans are equal in is death.
Here, the moral is conveyed through the Tenma/Nina vs Johan's conflict. Tenma is tested in his beliefs, but ultimately does not abandon them and ends the story by saving Johan. Nina instead is asked to change her mind, as she ends the story embracing Tenma's point of view.
RWBY - The Atlas Arc (topic = trust)
Tumblr media
Ozpin lacks trust, as he is unable to trust others, no matter how loyal or dedicated to his cause they are
Ruby wants to "trust safely". She wants others, like Ironwood, to prove themselves to her before disclosing the truth to them
Ironwood is initially on Ruby's same page, but he spirals and comes to embody the "enemy of trust" aka control. He doesn't trust others, but wants to control them.
Oscar embodies trust, as he wants to trust Ironwood since the beginning. Even later on, he keeps on trusting people like Hazel and Emerald who are his enemies.
Cinder embodies another "enemy of trust", aka manipulation. She doesn't need to trust others to work with them, as she can use their feelings and wishes against them.
Penny embodies faith, which is a more extreme form of trust. She sacrifices herself and leaves the maiden power to Winter. She has no proof Winter will be able to save Weiss, Jaune or the relic, but she entrusts the future to her.
All these characters struggle with trust and its dangers. Some, like Ozpin, Ironwood and Cinder decide that trusting is too dangerous. Others, like Ruby, Penny and Oscar realize that to trust is the only way to move forward. Moreover, they learn there is not way to trust safely. As a matter of fact the moral of the arc is that "trust is a risk" and risks mean that things can end up badly. Still, not to take risk means to give up hope.
Hazbin Hotel - You didn't know song (topic= knowledge)
Tumblr media
This song explores the idea of knowlege. The characters are after all in the middle of a questioning, which leads to several secrets coming out. Moreover, throughout it all the characters either admit or realize how ignorant they all are. The way they deal with this lack of knowledge establishes different thematic stances.
Charlie and Emily are both naive and ignore the darkest sides of their loved ones. Charlie doesn't know Vaggie used to be an exorcist and Emily has no idea Sera ordered the exterminations. Still, their answer to ignorance is to keep on questioning. They have no idea why only certain souls are admitted in heaven. Still, they think it is important to investigate the phenomenon and use it as evidence that there might be hope for the spirits in hell.
Lute and Adam don't know why some spirits end up in hell and others in heaven. Still, they do not bother to question it. So, Adam is caught by surprise by Charlie's question and has to improvise an answer. Not only that, but even later on the duo insist that Angel not being in Heaven proves he is unholy. And that's it.
Sera does know about the extermination, as she knows the system is unfair. Still, she refuses to question it and forbids others to do the same. She is the only one whose sin isn't ignornace, but knowledge.
There is no a clear thematic resolution to the question posed by the song. This is because the series is not over yet. However, the scene sets up the theme and the way characters will deal with it in later seasons will give us the moral.
As you can see, not only whole stories (like Madoka, or Monster) have themes, but also arcs (RWBY) and even episodes or scenes (Hazbin Hotel). That said, the way to go at it is always the same. Pintpoint the main topic and start investigate how the characters or the worldbuilding deal with it. You are gonna get several stances. The one which emeges victorious is the moral.
Let's highlight that the moral is not always embodied by the protagonist. For example, in the Madoka and RWBY's examples, Madoka and Ruby are initially at a loss and come to learn the moral by the end of the story (for Madoka) and arc (for Ruby). Similarly, Tenma initially does believe the moral, but doubts it throughout the story, only to be reminded and helped by other characters (like Nina).
In any case, the way the protagonist and characters in general relate to the main theme and to secondary themes is key for their arcs.
CHARACTERS AND THEME
When it comes to theme a character can either:
Believe the moral since the beginning
Not believe the moral since the beginning
In the first case, the character either stops believing the moral by the end (negative arc) or keeps believing the moral until the end (positive arc). In the second case, the character either learns the moral (positive arc) or doesn't learn the moral (negative arc).
In short, the story keeps challenging the character on their beliefs and they must either stick to their point of view or change it, depending if they believe in the moral since the beginning or not.
Exhibit A:
Tumblr media
Charlie's belief that sinners can be redeemed is right. Still, in the beginning nobody else agrees with her, so she is challenged by the world around her. Her objective is not to lose faith in the Hazbin Hotel and to inspire others to change their mind too. Throughout her journey, she is bound to grow too. She starts as sheltered and naive with a simplistic idea of what redemption is. By the end, she will gain a deeper understanding of redempion and will grow as a result.
Exhibit B:
Tumblr media
Eren's journey is about realizing what freedom (the main topic) is about. The problem is that he fixates himself on the idea that freedom means no boundaries, either natural nor humans. This leads him to embrace destruction and nihilism and to lose himself. In the end, the character who realizes what freedom truly is is Mikasa. She doesn't discard her bond with Eren, but is still able to make independent choices and to live as herself. In short, Eren doesn't learn the moral, hence why he spirals instead of growing.
Charlie is a protagonist who knows the moral and will grow with it in a positive arc. Eren is a protagonist who doesn't know the moral and never learns it. This is why he has a tragic negative arc.
These are just two examples, but there can be different combinations. By interrogating yourself on how characters relate to a theme, you get better a better understanding of their role in the story and of their overall arcs.
Still, how to find themes in a story? Luckily, each text is full of hints that are there for us to interpret them.
MOTIFS
Motifs are repetitive details within a story, which are used to communicate themes.
Anything can be a motif: a line, a musical tune, a specific imagery, an object. By repeating them in key moments throughout a narrative, they become symbols, which means they can lead to bigger metaphors and convey specific meanings.
In the song More Than Anything, dream is one of the main topics. We realize it because the characters keep mentioning it. At the same time, light keeps popping up. Lucifer summons light and throws it away, Charlie rememebrs a light show Lucifer imrpovised for her. Lucifer and Charlie start the song in the shadow and they end it in the light. This means that "light" is a motif throughout the song and by seeing how it is used we better understand the theme and the relationship between the two characters. We understand that light is a metaphor for dreams. Lucifer gives up on it, Charlie is inspired by it and eventually Lucifer summons it back as he has decided to believe in Charlie's dream. By looking at the way light is used, we can see that Charlie teaches Lucifer the moral that it is worth it to fight for dreams and not to give up on them.
In the CAA of HXH, gungi is a motif that comments both the topic of humanity and Meruem and Komugi's relationship. Their matches become a metaphor of monstrosity vs humanity, as humanity slowly conquers Meruem to the point he himself chooses to live and die as a human, rather than the King of the Ants. Similarly, Kokoriko symbolically becomes Komugi and Meruem's child, in the sense they give birth to this move and evolve the game.
Sometimes, their meaning is unique to the story. For example, gungi is a motif that makes sense within HxH and can't be brought outside of the series, as it is not a real world game. It only exists in that universe. Some other times, a motif can tie to bigger sets of symbols. For example, light and shadow are universal symbols that bring with them several additional meanings:
Good and Evil
The Jungian persona shadow
In the Hazbin Hotel song the first dychotomy doesn't fit, while the second one does. Initially both Lucifer and Charlie hide things from each other (shadow), whereas by the end they show who they are (light).
In short, to analyze a story, you should find its key motifs. They are hints to better understand the theme and the characters. Different stories will use different motifs and tie them to different wider sets of symbols. To find the right ones can help a lot in better understanding a story, as a whole.
Some examples:
RWBY uses fairy tales and alchemy as its main motif, so these two sets of symbols are the most useful to analyze the series
HxH is a shonen and uses its powers and fights to convey character arcs and themes, so to analyze one's nen abilities helps a lot
Hazbin Hotel is a musical series that takes inspiration from religion and mythology. So, it is probable that the best understanding of it will come from analyzing its songs and from looking into its religion inspiration
Of course this doesn't mean you should only use one motif to analyze a story. For example, you can use RWBY's semblances to look into the characters, as well. And there are some fairy tale allusions in Hazbin too. In the end, it is about using what best helps you understand a story as a whole.
What is more, there are general sets of symbols that can be useful in most stories, such as jungian archetypes. Finally, you might want to start from other aspects of the story itself, rather than theme or characters or plot. For example, you might be drawn to the world-building and realize it is used in a special way to explore the theme. Or you might be curious about character designs and see that they have their own symbolism (for example, I believe RWBY ones do and probably Hazbin Hotel ones, as well).
SOME PRACTICAL ADVICE
I have linked in the title of each paragraph, but this last one an article by @septembercfawkes. Her posts are great to better understand narrative structure and I found them enlightening.
I think the best thing you can do is to start with focused metas. Choose a scene, a character, a motif that intrigues you and start exploring it. It is better to start small and to narrow your focus, it would be easier to organize your article.
I usually outline the contents of the meta before starting to write it. Still, it sometimes changes as I keep writing.
It can be useful to write at the beginning of your analysis what you are gonna do. It will help you remember what the point of the meta is. For example, in my RWBY allusion meta or HxH nen meta, I always start with the motif I am analyzing. I summarize the fairy tale (even if many people know it already) and I explain what the character's ability is about. It helps organizing the flow and the contents.
The more you analyze the better you become at it, so it is just a matter of starting :)
Thank you for the asks, I hope this was helpful and not too much confusing!
Have a nice day!

Hi! I have a question, you can ignore this if you want to but I’ve found myself really loving the way you write and the range of writing you can articulate as well. Speaking from someone who is nowhere close to that level of skill you possess, would you mind being able to explain your journey of writing, if you practiced any particular methods or anything else to get to this stage you are at right now? Unless you have been gifted the talent of writing from birth and didn’t need to try for much long or long enough to call it a journey. Could you also spare some tips and advice for someone who wants to start writing stories and what to look into/practice?
I love your work a lot and I am constantly waiting for the notification of your new posts, despite not being a writer myself I do love breaking down and analysing writing and your stories are always such good options for me to look into. Thank you so much for writing and sparing your time to produce such well done pieces of work — I felt extremely corny writing this, excuse me for this language, I promise I’m not a pimp!
THIS ISN'T CORNY AT ALL!!!! ❌🌽❌!!!!
i'm deeply grateful for all your kind words, thank you so so much 😭
i don't mean this in a self-deprecating way, but i've never considered myself a gifted or super incredible writer, i just get hype about story ideas and try to make them as good as i can. due to that, i start sweating when people ask for advice because i don't consider myself qualified... i do have a writing advice tag, but take everything i say with a grain of salt!! if it's fanfic literally all that matters is that you enjoy whatever you're writing.
i'm more than happy to share my writing journey though!! it's kinda fun to reminiscence.
i've loved reading and writing ever since i was a little lock. while thinking about this ask, it occurred to me that what i've always been the most invested in are the characters. i'd think about 275894275 different storylines with them. i didn't start writing fanfic until i was around 11 though, everything was handwritten. or in flipnote hatena.
i did a lot of fanfic writing from 11-14 buuuut then my interest in it kinda fizzled out. it wasn't until i watched hxh for the first time that i took it up again bc chrollo is that powerful. that's when i started conceptualizing HWR. i looked at my early writing folder, the first HWR fanfic i wrote was in 2016 when i was 15 ?? here's a cursed excerpt:
Tumblr media
anyway, once i started making googly eyes at chrollo, it was gg. i've been writing often ever since.
what's helped me the most is to focus on the elements i find interesting. for example, i like fleshing out my MCs, focusing on dialogue, and developing a universe around the main pairing. because i enjoy this so much it's (mostly) always easy to devote time and effort toward it.
so i think it comes down to finding out what niches you like and working with those. some writers prefer to write with heavy prose, others are more succinct, some writers like dialogue, others prefer to be more action based... etc etc. this does require a little time if you're completely new to writing, but you know yourself best. you'll eventually pick up on what part of the story you're most excited to write.
this isn't particularly mind-blowing or anything but i hope it helps some 😭 what completely Altered my mindset was when i realized i can be as self-indulgent as humanly possible. cringe is not in my vocabulary. write a MC where every single character is in love with them if you want. write a 100k word fic about your OC being isekaid into x world. post about your f/os, draw art of you with your fav, go ham.

will you make the big thread about how hisoillu is canon?
I remember you’re talked about it one day on Twitter and I often think about it, I like how you’re analyse them and understand they’re personalities and how they’re actually love each other I dream to see your thread one day omggg
Hellos!! Thank you for your kindness, I did say I would make a thread about it last year!
Unfortunately I don't really have any plans on pursuing that thread anytime soon.
If I'm going to make it, im going to make it right, which means it'll be extremely long and detailed and will cover Hisoka and Illumi all the way from pre production to post production of hxh. I will pretty much take every single post i've made about them from 2020 and combine it all into one singular coherent and organized thread and that in itself is going to take me months.
I'm currently a bit too busy with irl things to do this ^^ I was in the beginnings of doing it until the palestinian genocide amplified in october last year and i lost the motivation and will to do a lot of things, this included. I've since gained back a little whimsy but i'm currently busy with uni and work and cant spare time.
I still plan on making it in the future!! Just not anytime soon, definitely not this year. Until then, entertain the nonbelievers with my random disorganized yapping posts about it lol (also the longer i wait the more hisoillu content will come from togashi so hey, win win!)

Thanks for sharing your fics recs (especially the KilluGon) most in your list, I have not read them yet... 🤩🌻 Also, love your analysis and reviews, thanks for sharing them....
Okay, so as ItaFushi and SatoSugu shipper, I was curious about SukuIta ship. You are the first person (that I know of and follow) that ship them...Hope you don't mind if I ask you a few things. What do you think are Sukuna and Itadori’s greatest personality strengths and weaknesses? Why? What do you love about their dynamic? What make you ship them?
Also, you're the first person that I follow that don't like Gojo (even not entered him in your top 5 fav charas). I don't mean anything negative...I just find it interesting. As a Gojo lover (he's my 2nd fav after Yuji) I found your reasons for disliking him pretty reasonable and I love your metas.....
Happy holiday....
Thank you for your kind words. And I’m glad that my Gojou negativity doesn’t put you off. I haven’t been very kind in my posts about him, they are very ranty. My top charas are honestly related to how much I think about them and how excited I am for scenes with them for various reasons. And like for example Kirara is absolutely on the list of characters I’m always excited for, or: Miwa, Hana, Toudou, Junpei, Nanami, Higuruma, Maki, Uraume, Tengen or Yuki. Gojou used to be on this list because I actually enjoyed how flawed he is, it was: wow this man! A bit like watching an accident happen. But I also find his position in the jujutsu world interesting. Fandom soured me on him and that’s on me.
______
As to the fic recs, if you enjoy killugon I have reblogged some hxh and killugon fics rec lists over the years: x, x, x, x, x, x, x.
______
“What do you think are Sukuna and Itadori’s greatest personality strengths and weaknesses? Why?”
Yuuji has it all. He has this sweet side, he’s silly, cute, compassionate and has people skills. But he also has a darker side. He’s lonely, has unprocessed issues concerning forming relationships with others, he doesn’t value himself too much, he has the tendency to blame himself, it makes him suicidal eventually.
He can be very introspective and self aware but he sometimes chooses not to do that, like his refusal to think about his parents, or he can use it against himself to bash himself with guilt because he can over analyse his shortcomings. Yuuji both seeks connection and doesn’t easily let people know him too closely.
He’s also very smart and adaptable. He learns very fast, he can analyse a situation well and employ tactics that will often make him succeed in what he’s doing.
He also has good intuition, like in how he befriends Junpei, how he doesn’t want to be around Megumi during the culling games, or with plans on how to save Megumi.
Because he wants to connect with people he doesn’t always know when to put his foot down. He’s very good at asserting himself against people who are bullies and who are hostile towards him, like Sukuna and Mahito. With people he cares about though he’s not really good at that. He will argue but with for example Megumi and Gojou he will fall in line. They intimidate him to an extent, they seem knowledgeable and powerful in ways he isn’t. He defers to their judgement despite them failing him.
Sukuna is funny in his contrasts. I’ve once written that he’s full of shit. He’s the opposite of Yuuji because he refuses to introspect, to analyse himself. He of course has a huge ego so he has a very specific attitude towards people who exert any form of power over him. He gives Kenjaku the cold shoulder and tries to ignore them as much as possible. (Tell us why, Gege. Heian flashback when ;-;) Towards Yuuji he’s just irritable, disrespectful and petty.
He’s very nerdy about jujutsu, it’s very clear he enjoys it and he enjoys fighting. He believes that others matter only as much as he can get some enjoyment or entertainment out of them. Which is actually not entirely true, because he very clearly has a friendship with Uraume and he’s very mindful of Uraume’s feelings in it. As I said, not self aware.
______
“What make you ship them?”
The process of elimination. It will be a story XD
When I first read and watched JJK, I came out of it caring very deeply about Yuuji. I liked other characters but Yuuji was and still is special to me.
In fandom I primarily seek three things:
1. Art of the characters I like because I just like art and also it gives me extra emotions.
2. Meta and discussions, because I enjoy over analysing stuff and making theories.
3. Extra emotions in the form of fics. I’m only in two fandoms, they both traumatised my favs very deeply. I want to experience other things with the favs. I want them in situations. (mostly long form AUs but not all AUs, I’m picky XD)
With Gon and Killua, point 3 was easy. I find their romantic ship close to canon, I love them both, I wanted more of that.
With Yuuji I wanted something good for him. I wanted him to be prioritised and on the receiving end of love. I wanted someone to care as deeply about him as he does for others.
So I went on ao3 and started to look into the tags.
The first one I checked out was ItaJun. I like Junpei, I think he’s an interesting character. Yuuji and Junpei’s canon interactions can be read as pre crush stuff. They hit it off very quickly, share the passion for films. Are capable of talking honestly about deeper and darker things. Most fics in that rather short tag were from Junpei’s pov. Made him very mopy, soft and fragile, introverted in this stereotypical way. And Yuuji was there as the manic pixie dream boy. Next.
So I looked into the ItaFushi tag. It was long so I had hope. Even though I was and am ambivalent about Megumi. And I don’t particularly like his dynamic with Yuuji in canon. I mentioned it above, it’s about the misplaced deference that Yuuji shows Megumi. And Megumi thinking he’s much smarter than he is. Most fics in that tag were from Megumi’s pov. Made him very mopy, soft and fragile, introverted, melancholic and overly intellectual. And Yuuji was there as the manic pixie dream boy. But also dumber than Megumi. Like in the KilluGon tag you can find fics like that too, fics from Killua’s pov by people who don’t care about Gon. In both tags there will also be these kinds of fics but written by people who seem to dislike the “sunshine” character. It’s not just that they find that character to be a tool to make their fav feel better, but that they are kinda upset about it. There are few fics in that tag that I liked, though. Because despite being from Megumi’s pov, they both wrote Megumi and Yuuji close to as they are.
But generally, I was growing disappointed and frustrated. And I remembered one smut in the ItaJun tag which was actually a poly threeway with Sukuna. I remembered it because Junpei’s pov was nice and the dynamic was interesting. And I was like: well, can SukuIta be really worse than this? I mean if that poly fic was anything to go by, at least the smut will be fun.
So in the SukuIta tag finally, finally, my chance of finding Yuuji’s pov was high. And the authors there are actually interested in Yuuji’s personality. Not all of them do it justice, obviously, but they are interested. They are interested in putting Yuuji in situations. They are interested in tension and high emotions. They are interested in strange, codependent, very intense relationships, even in some of the more fluffy fics. There’s a lot of E rated stuff there, a lot of dead dove. And as I said before, I’m very picky and I won’t click on most stuff, but that was true for the other 2 tags as well. Just that, when I chose to click on stuff in this tag, the percentage of fics I read till the end was incomparably higher than in the other two tags. And reading through it, I started to get ideas to write for it.
______
“What do you love about their dynamic?”
As I said above, in the beginning I was mostly amazed that I’m getting Yuuji exploration. Sukuna was there as the vehicle for the situations and the emotions. Even when I started writing my first fic, I was of that mindset too. Writing it made me ponder Sukuna more and grow to like him beyond his fun energy as a villain.
The thing I like about their dynamic is when Yuuji gets to finally allow himself a close and raw relationship with someone, it’s usually very dramatic and dark in the best scenarios. That he carves something for himself, something often imperfect and kinda toxic, something where both sides are forced to make concessions and navigate around each other, but something where he’s prioritised.
And when Sukuna gets punished for his personality, like the consequences of his irreflexive nature give him anxiety or something like that. When he’s forced to actually self-analyse. Sukuna is about his own pleasure and you can write him in a way that if someone becomes his pleasure, he gets very intense about it.
At its best, this dynamic is very intense, dramatic and either goes in a very dark direction or requires a lot of negotiation.
Also true form Sukuna is the hottest JJK has to offer and my dear Yuuji deserves the absolute best.

get to know me :)
thank you so much for the tag @mayykit !!
surprised & honoured <3
1. username origins
local girl tried to think of a funny username for half an hour and failed, thus resorting to keyboard smashing until she got something that could roll off the tongue + was pretty to look at.
my pfp is interesting though! first oc i ever made, drawn by my lovely friend. (^_^♪)
2. ships & such
i honestly just have so many?? some that you'll probably see on my account again & again are :
kiamei
acheswan
elymobi
sskk
sherliam
vanoe
yoohankim
getonanago
3. fav colour(s)
almost all shades of blue, really.
4. song stuck in my head
these days i'm always humming the intro of this one :
5. weird habit
i tend to obsess over whether my profile anywhere looks neat or not, meaning that i'll often delete messy posts, edit tags, make all my playlists have the exact same number of songs, delete my watch/search histories so they're tidy etc. lol.
6. hobbies
does bedrotting with a side of reading/analysing media/listening to music/watching youtube vids count? because that's all i got for now. i do write sometimes, and i want to learn new languages, but being unmotivated sucks ass. plus it's hard for me to continue doing something when i'm not satisfied with the results so gotta get past that. 🫡
7. profession (if working)
i'm a student right now! probably will go the english degree route but i'm not too sure about what to do after. wish i can get a job as a librarian of some sort :")
8. dream job?
those people who get to burp tiger cubs and shit? yeah. <3.
9. something i'm good at
connecting random song lyrics with characters/ships and going on rants about it. one of my favourite things to do and i get to make my friend suffer with me. technically also a hobby, i suppose?
10. something i hate
the fact that we're living in a cyberpunk dystopian society without the ONE thing that would atleast make it kinda cool i.e. the futuristic aesthetic. like, how did we manage to adopt the worst parts of the genre guys.
11. something i forget
i forget a lot of important dates in particular, so i'm always scrambling to note down birthdays and anniversaries and such. thankfully i'm surrounded by people who understand that it's a genuine problem i try to correct.
12. my love language
i have NO idea, lmao. probably random reassuring touches that go unnoticed? i'm trying to be more forthcoming with affection but i think i'll always struggle with it (especially any verbal aspect).
13. fav movies/tv shows
anything ghibli and satoshi kon, lotr, haikyuu, tanaka kun is always listless, kotaro lives alone, mob psycho, mononoke, aot, hxh, arcane, forgotten (kmovie), better days, whc1, the devil judge, move to heaven, kieta hatsukoi and so many more. if we're talking about manga or books then some of my favs are csm, blue period, monster, blue flag, vnc, to your eternity, and most importantly orv <3
14. fav food
hmmm....homecooked meals by my mum, especially curry rice. if we're talking junk food, probably the standard burger/pizza stuff. i stick to the basics so not much variety to be found.
15. fav animal(s)
cats all the way. i like ferrets because they remind me of a friend, and raccoons because said friend always compares me to raccoons. oh, and, tigers are so cool (see:cute) as well. :P
16. me as a kid
dumbass who loved stirring up trouble (i used to replace all the handwash in the house with water) before i mellowed out and got into reading.
17. fav/least fav subjects
i like english simply because of how easy it has been for me up until now. and i find geography so interesting, but specifically physical geography. popular density just doesn't compare to finding out how volcanoes work.
hated maths & science. will continue to do so. i just never was good at them. (◞ ‸ ◟ㆀ)
18. best/worst trait
got so stumped by my supposed best trait that i had to ask someone else. they said, and i quote, "it's the fact that you're easy to be around" which i love?? so much?? i think that's the best compliment i could ever receive.
as for the worst trait, i get frustrated pretty easily. and since i don't know how to manage that frustration, it makes for an overall shitty atmosphere.
19. if i could change one thing in my life, what would it be?
oh wow. lots of things come to mind but....i think i'd like to change the fact that i never got a hobby where i could create stuff whether that's art, writing, or something else. don't get me wrong, i absolutely can do that stuff now as well it's just that it's cool to hear about people growing beside the thing they're passionate about, you know? it's very made-to-be.
20. if i could travel in time, who would i want to meet?
my mother, who as a child was always by her grandma's side, often tells me stories of her and how she was a force to be reckoned with, willing to run after someone with her slippers ready to hit them on the head if they so much as looked at my mother wrong. she was fiercely loving to the point where no child in the family could tell who was her favourite. to this day, my mother says she hasn't seen someone as caring as her. i'd like to meet that person, i think.
i changed the wording of these questions a bit, hopefully that's not an issue. anyway, this was so fun!! not tagging anyone specific BUT if you see this and decide to participate let me know, i'd love to read what you write. 🌱🍃
also! fun fact! while writing this i found out satoshi kon and i share the same birthday date? what the fuck. this is the coolest day of my life.

Impulse Analyses 11/5/24 (election day. ironic that i'm watching an anime with a tournament that was essentially founded "for the people" around a time like this): YYH Ep 111
this will bounce off of my previous analysis, so i won't be directly listing new themes here. again, spoilers beyond the cutoff
I SCRATCHED MY HEAD SO SHARPLY SEEING WHERE YOMI DECIDED TO END UP
Even though I knew his fight with Yusuke has shown him something new and has awakened something new in him, I really thought Yomi was going to continue being a deprecating dirtbag. Glad to see I was wrong and that Yomi would go on a journey towards a better self. Also happy to see that he respects Kurama's wishes to leave his past self behind.
It did take some of the intrigue I saw in Yomi into a sudden 180 (I feel like there was a lot more to be said with Yomi's character). But I dig the message. I guess one good experience with a fellow being has the potential to change someone who was in a 500-year-long stalemate of a war.
The small decision to have Kuwabara in spirit (figuratively, not literally) in certain moments was a really nice touch. It shows how much of an impact he had in characters such as Yusuke and Kurama. It really got me when Kurama started thinking of Kuwabara and he smiled afterwards. Being a friend of Kuwabara really meant something for him, and using this as a way to show that was a really good call.
Literal cherry on top of this story of identity
Because I heard the ending was not the best (according to notes from Togashi), I was really curious as to how the tournament (and the series as a whole) would wrap itself up in less than 2 episodes (because it did seem like there would've been a lot more fighting had there not been a timeskip). Then the story pulls a HxH tenfold and gets to the end of the fights in no time.
Yusuke lost, but so did Yomi. The tournament and the state of the three worlds resolved in a pretty well-thought-out way (a bit corny, but it worked to give a hopeful ending).
Seeing that the characters (probably) won't be getting growth after this, I'm actually kinda disappointed with where a few ended up:
Yusuke still has a bit of a rough, spiky exterior
Hiei is still a brooding lone wolf who refuses to reveal his secret to Yukina
The seeds are set, and the characters came out of this as better & more well-rounded people compared to where they first started:
Yusuke is more committed than ever to giving life a good shot and growing up
Hiei backs down on his decision to give Kurama the necklace ("You'll give this to her, at your own pace")
In those respects, I like the hopefulness this part of these two journeys convey. Really good riveting lessons and themes all around (accept yourself, it's okay to feel a lot of things during your journey; it's okay to take a while to get to something, just try to get some closure with the people and things you care about before you regret it; just keep living and living in a way that fulfills you)
But for an ending to an anime of +100 episodes, I'm a little mixed on these two. It's like if Hunter x Hunter ended after the Chairman Election arc. The characters progressed just enough to see the horizon (some can see it more than others), but it's definitely not the end for them. Maybe the last episode will show a bit of something
I don't hate it, I just felt like it could've been handled a tad better. But yes, I wholeheartedly understand and respect the reasons why Togashi wanted to end the story where he ended it. Health is miles more important than a perfect story
also when Kurama said "I'm not interested in you that way" to Hiei, I died a little inside. I really thought they would've, idk... They seemed to have helped each other crop their positive traits up when they first appeared.

JORGE WAS THE NARRATOR LETS GOOOO
some notes about Ep 109 & 110
109: I felt so bad for both Hiei and Mukuro by the end of their fight. They deserve everything good that can and will come their way. Really loved how their fight was essentially an encounter where they both learn to see value in each other & themselves, and one where they help free each other from their pasts. A fight that I think would resonate with a great amount of people
110: Yomi and Yusuke being toxic rough rowdy fighting guys is so funny, heartfelt, and,
actually, for some reason, it's also sad, to me. It's hard to explain the last one, I'm only having these thoughts now.
Like, at this point in the story, both of these characters really only have fighting (and proving their strength) as their one outlet to feel something, to make their mark on the world, and maybe even to feel seen. I thought Yusuke vs. Chu was pushing it with the humanity and the subtle tragedy of it all but holy moly. These guys may be smiling through those punches, but I hope they may smile more often. I'm proud of them for finding something to smile about. But man does it have to be like this?
...WAIT A GOD DANG MINUTE
Shura yelling for Yomi at the climax of Yomi vs. Yusuke, and that being the thing that kept Yomi standing, is also nice, come to think of it.
Shura, despite suffering a brutal, even personal loss to his father, still loved him enough to cheer him on.
Yomi, after realizing that his son, no, after realizing that at least someone, cares for him, sees one reason to keep standing.
They both saw value in each other (and themselves) at the end :)
Yeah you go take that journey and come out of it a better person Yomi or I'll yank your ears
Edit: if i got something wrong, feel free to let me know. Thanks for reading!
Also team masho oh my lord I'll miss that team of goofballs
Edit March 2025: FUDGE, THEY'RE NOT CALLED THAT. Whatever team had Chu, Jin, Rinku, Touya, Shishi, the Beautiful Suzuka, etc.

Introduction
Hi welcome to my blog, I go by Ashera and I'm obsessed with Seraph of the End (especially Shinoa and GureMahi).
I like to make edits, fanart, animations, and analyses of my favorite shows. I'm usually active on TikTok and Instagram but since I'm in America, TikTok is gonna get banned so yea :(
Some of my other favorite shows/games include Danganronpa, Bungo Stray Dogs, Vanitas no Carte, Genshin Impact, Your Turn To Die, Yona of the Dawn, Pandora Hearts, HxH, Final Fantasy, and Black Butler.
tbh I'm not very familiar with tumblr but I really like the community here so I want to start posting.
See you all soon!

your analyses saved my life. honestly i’m in awe because even if i already did love a character with my life, if i read something from your blog, it makes me love them tenfold.
i was wondering, have you ever watched or read hxh? would you ever write any meta to do with it? gon and killua are like, one of the top anime duos (or even ships) of all time for me, and i’d really love to see you break their characters and relationships down!
Thank you!
Yes I've read hxh! Maybe I'll write on it sometime.

!Hello! I'm Brazilian, I watch a Brazilian rap anime (Gon x Pitou), I'll love your comment.
I know this is very intrusive, but I wanted to talk to you about more HXH, I love this anime, but it's really hard to find people who like this anime (in Brazil).
!!!Sorry for my english!!! 🙏😓😓💦
Intrusive? No, this is awesome! I'm so happy that my little Internet trail over Brazilian anime geek music has lead you to me. Thank you for reaching out! Your Alluka profile picture is adorable 😊 sending a message your way.
That Gon x Pitou track was sooo good, combining the forces of Mistery and M4rkim. I'm going to recommend it to other English speakers right now. My nerdcore + geek music recs have been a long time coming, so I might as well start them off with a bang!
A tip for my fellow clueless gringos/gringas: go into caption settings on YouTube and auto-translate! They can take a while to load. If you're impatient, go down in the comments and a user 'genesis' has transcribed the lyrics. Translate from there and follow along ^^
youtube
Medonho e sombrio / O ódio consumiu / Uma tormenta em um calmo mar / Ira de um homem gentil!
These lines stuck with me after hearing "Jan Ken Guu" by Kaitou. It's probably a coincidence, but seeing the title of this Pitou and Gon track, Homem Gentil, made me think it was inspired by Kaitou's.
As a bigbig Gon fan, these lines and this title resonate with me so strongly. He's a character often ignored, hated or interpreted in a way that doesn't sit right with me. I sympathise a lot with the little dude, and I find his mindset/morality interesting to analyse. To hear some guys from across the waters interpret my favourite character similarly to me is a nice feeling, even if I understand why Gon is controversial.
M4rkim did the character justice. I knew of M4rkim from his Griffith (Berserk) track and of course, his prior take on our boy Gon. Been a while since he did Caçador and I see the development. Mistery was more new to me, as I had only heard her Pitou track. That was a serious banger. Together? They killed it. This was such a good song.
If my memory hasn't gone bad, I've heard of tracks like this collaboration, Kaitou's "Jan Ken Guu" and Mistery's "Marionette" being called 'movement' type songs. I'm not sure what that means, but they have a shared special something that's interesting to see.
On the series, it's a shame HxH isn't too popular in Brazil. I see the 1999 anime getting a pt-br dub and all the amazing Hunter geek music Gabriza, Tauz, Enygma, Chrono, Kaitou, Basara, D.Y.A, Shiny etc. put out and I assumed it was super loved!
I don't know just how popular it is in England / rest of the UK (where I live) or the West specifically though. It is very highly rated on the website My Anime List, and named a lot when people talk about the best shonen, but One Piece, Naruto, FMAB, MHA and newer generation anime get talked about more I think. Which is a shame :(
Anyway, am so happy you reached out to me. I'm a huge fan of HxH and I love making new friends. A newbie with Brazilian geek music, and only got into it when I found Enygma's Hisoka track near release. Still, it's really cool!
It sucks to be on your own when you're super passionate about something, so I'd be happy to be someone you can share your fangirling with :D
and no worries about the english! understood you, and I think it's pretty awesome for you to reach out in a foreign language (because it can be real intimidating). if you can bear with my shoddy portugese and me using awkward translation tools, I don't mind switching languages to give you a break 💜

Shifting throgugh the lense of the Phoenix.
Alright, you might be wondering what the title means. You're probably thinking about what a Phoenix has to do with shifting but hear me out. What I am striving for is to embody the full spirit and being of the Phoenix- the symbol of Rebirth, renewal, immortality, and the triumph of life over death- through shifting.
To put it simply the ultimate goal of my shifting journey is to become the Phoenix (spoiler I am the Phoenix already).
However, I should start by introducing myself. My name is Venus and like many of you reading this post, I am a shifter. This post will focus on my journey in discovering shifting as well as what I strive to achieve through shifting.
So sit back and get comfortable, this is going to be a long one.
So, how did I come to this conclusion?
Well, that is a long story but the short answer is
✨️Religious trauma✨️combined with my natural curious and inquisitive nature led to me falling into the spiritual, witchcraft and paganism rabbit hole and somehow landing in the astral projection and Lucid dreaming rabbit hole only to arrive at reality shifting rabbit hole. Mind you this happened over like a year or two.
I discovered shifting in 2021 and I held it as a belief alongside other key beliefs and as most people did I found it through TikTok, particularly an HXH shifting story time (I am also an anime fan so this makes sense) which came up when I was looking up astral projection story times.
This unconventional journey to reaching the point I am today has shaped who I am and I'm honestly glad reality shifting came last because the previous rabbit holes I went down helped me understand and appreciate reality shifting as a practice and helped me reflect on what type of being I want to become through this practice.
What pushed me into the rabbit hole?
The simple answer was Following the cycle of the Phoenix, going through 3 things:facing challenges, letting go of the old self/ beliefs, and emerging stronger and wiser. HOWEVER the cycle can take different shapes and forms, it doesnt look exactly the same for every situation or person, the point is that it embodies the key conceptd of the Phoenix i.e Death and rebirth and i will be using this key concept to explain my journey in discovering shifting.I've gone through the cycle of the Phoenix countless times in the years since I discovered shifting aswell as the years before that and you have too.
Therefore I was in one of these cycles when I went through my first rabbit hole.
The challenge:
I'd like to say Covid was the challenge itself but that won't be correct. Covid was a crucial time for me and a lot of things intensified inside me mainly my thirst for knowledge and my growing dissatisfaction with my current life.
I was born the first daughter in a religious ethnic household and a very religious country therefore I've lived in a society that limited me in many ways but I was always curious, I always questioned everything especially the beliefs I was being indoctrinated into and I had always believed there was more to my existence than to become a slave to a 'God'.
Therefore when Covid hit and I had virtually all the time in the world to reflect and unlimited Internet access I did what any kid did and I explored, That's when I came across many communities through fandom spaces as I mentioned before I am an anime fan amongst other things (I consume lots of media) and within Fandom spaces I was able to see the world through new perspectives, this was where my first contact with the queer (Lgbtq+) community and this contact caused me to further question the religion I was born into which demonised such people (I am such people).
Long story short I went down the deconstruction rabbit hole where I used a critical lens to analyse the Abrahamic faith as a whole and once you see it you can't unsee it. And that was the end of my religiosity.
Ofcourse it's not as easy as I made it out to be, I am a top-tier overthinker and questioned if I was doing the right thing. I had a whole faze where I went through the 3 stages of grief with religion and now I'm fully out of it after years of bargaining,I accepted it.
Letting go of old self/ beliefs:
Okay little Venus was in the borders of becoming somone new but their old self and beliefs where holding them back so what did they do? They adopted new beliefs.
Witchcraft, paganism, spirituality. This was my holy trinity, these 3 things helped change my perspective of the world at 13 years old, these 3 things helped me let go of old Venus and to step into my own power.
Key things I achieved through my holy trinity was:
A new perspective on divinity.
Learning not to fear death.
Confirming there's more to life than just this.
》》》》》》》☆Divinity☆《《《《《《《
Anyone who has been in the spiritual community would know that it's only a matter of time until you come across the pagans from the Norse to the Hellenists to the Vooduo practitioners you'll find them.
These practices have always intrigued me as they are older than the Abrahamic religions as well as the gods themselves being an interesting concept to me. I researched and familiarised myself with many different practices within the pagan community each more interesting than the other.
Of course, I found deities that I identified with, I didn't work with them or 'worship' them I merely resonated with what they symbolised and the things they had dominion over. One of such deities is the Roman God Lucifer, the morning star, the liberator and bringer of knowledge. I liked his symbolism and I enjoyed discovering his true origins outside of the Abrahamic faith. He is a symbol of enlightenment and I deeply resonated with his symbolism whether it was within or outside the abrahamic faith.
This healed my perspective on divinity as a whole as I shifted from the Abrahamic view to a more polytheistic view though not partaking in any form of worship it was still a helpful perspective.
Moreover it made me reflect more on my understanding of divinity and what tyoe if beings existed out there- leading me to the conclusion all and any God existed even 'fictional' ones, this belief was later solidified through shifting.
Moreover seeing how different belief systems viewed death and what happened after helped me create a better understanding and relationship with the concept of death so much so I even find comfort in it (in a healthy way).
》Spirituality and witchcraft《
Just like divinity researching and being into these things greatly expanded my perspective and gave me an even more open mind.
Being in this community I heard and discovered new things at every turn there was always a different perspective or something new here and there and soon 'absurd' concepts weren't abnormal to me as i was used to supernaturals concept, conspiracies and spiritual beliefs.
One of the concepts I learned of was the belief that we are souls having a human experience and that we've had many past lives on different planets and as different beings also contributing to my relationship with and understanding of death. This concept deeply resonated with me at the time though now I have a deeper understanding of my existence which i will elaborate on later.
Lucid dreaming and Astral projection: I've been familiar with the concept of Lucid dreaming for many years. I had tried to teach myself to Lucid dreams many times over my childhood but failed the same goes for astral projection. I found out about astral projection later than Lucid dreaming but nonetheless I was intrigued and I made multiple attempts but never succeeded. Though I am yet to experience these things the knowledge I've gained form being part of the community is invaluable and it was these things that led to me discovering shifitng.
Emerging stronger and wiser.
Now, the concept of becoming stronger and wiser after going through enlightenment is a scam.
You might be thinking, what's the point of going through the cycle anyway if at the end it's all a scam? Well to put it simply, the change I went through courtesy of the previous two stages of the cycle has only made me wiser than the previous version of myself and only the versions before it.
Think about it. I am constantly going through this cycle over and over, you can't compare the Venus typing this to the Venus who discovered shifting it would be simply unfair and I can't compare the current me to the future me (though I'm simultaneously all versions of myself but you get it).
Therefore it is a scam only in the sense that you're not universally wiser but only wiser than the previous version of your self.
....THE PHOENIX.
Tumblr media
Now for what I've been most keen to talk about, how I'm going to embody the Phoenix and how this relates to shifting.
But first...what even is the Phoenix?
"The phoenix is a legendary immortal bird that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again. Originating in Greek mythology, it has analogs in many cultures, such as Egyptian and Persian mythology. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by rising from the ashes of its predecessor. Some legends say it dies in a show of flames and combustion, while others say that it simply dies and decomposes before being born again." -Wikipedia cause your girl is lazy but yeah it covers the basics of the origins of the Phoenixs.
Moreover, the Phoenix symbolizes Rebirth, renewal, immortality, creation etc
Here's a link to a website with more information:
The concept of the Phoenix can be used in the mundane day to day life or to describe changes or transformation in one's life as I did earlier in this post but what about a multiversal scale?.
How does this fit in with my journey?
Knowing too much is a blessing and a curse and combined with being an overthinker I've spent several sleepless nights in reflection. I am in a constant state of reflection and re-evaluation, I am constantly thinking and questioning my own beliefs making sure I come to the best conclusion.
The information I've soaked up over the years doesn't leave me, it adds up like pieces in a puzzle to make a bigger picture in my mind and comes to one simple conclusion after reflecting countless times.
I Am God
Okay, I know many people have probably said this same line a thousand times but have you absorbed it? Have you internalised it? Have you made it a fact of your existence?
Shifting was simply a means of me realising my inner divinity, it was the final piece of the puzzle of my existence...I'm immortal, I am merely awareness, I'm a creator, I'm everything and anything and nothing all at once.
This is where the link to the Phoenix comes in, every time I shift I go through a cycle of Rebirth like the Phoenix, I shed the skin of my previous reality self to become my Desired self and I am doing this infinitely just like the Phoenix.
Time is an illusion it doesn't exist. I am constantly shifting therefore I am constantly rebirthing and I'm always stepping into new versions of myself only for them to 'die' and continue the endless cycle.
We are all Gods in our own right that's the whole point however what type of God are you? The phoenix is the type of God I want to be, it is the God I AM.
The God who has experienced it all, the God who is currently experiencing it all and the God who will experience it all is me.
Conclusion?
That's a good question how do I conclude this? This is always the hardest part but I'll try my best.
To simply put it you could read this whole post and it may not affect you or change anything for you, that's great. You could also read this post and have some kind of epiphany or change, that's great too. But the point I want everyone to take away from this is that this is YOUR journey.
We all have potential to come to any and every conclusion we want based off what we want our reality to look like.
I came to the conclusion though the lense of the Phoenix and your conclusion can be anything else heck you could care less about getting a conclusion and just want to shift and that's OK.
In the beginning I made this post for myself if I'm being honest but after writing this I've come to realise this is more than just me but also the other shifters who may find this and feel enlightened or motivated by it no matter how they interpret it or see it.Therefore if you made it this far...Thank you for reading and happy shifting.
