Fanfic: Hurt Arm AU Kento x Cye Vibes

Note: I really don’t have a title for this one or anything. I just had the idea of what if Cye’s left arm never healed after Sarenbo tried to split up the White Armor? Soooo I ran with it and wrote some things off it.

“Cye, you HAVE to tell Sage.. like now. Not after you’re done cooking, not after dinner, not before bed and not after whatever other excuse you’re going to use.” Kento corners the youngest in the kitchen blocking him from leaving.

“Look, Ryo had a blow out tonight over his swords. I’d rather not make waves. We’re on our way to go find them. Once we do and things cool over, I’ll let Sage know.”

“Dude, you’re injured. Seriously injured. Torrent hasn’t even made a move to heal your arm. It’s been four days. You can’t use it. I watched you trying to pick up Mia’s equipment and I saw the blood on the hoodie.”

“Do you want a prize, Kento? I’m not going to make a big deal out of this. For all I know, I did it to myself.”

“You somehow injured your arm so bad that you can’t move it? Doing what?” Hardrock challenged raising an eyebrow.

“I-I don’t bloody know… look do you want dinner or not? You were just outside complaining loudly to anyone who would listen that you were so hungry you were ‘dying’. Now I’m in here ready to make you something and you’re doing this.”

He didn’t know how to tell the other that anytime he had to watch him get hurt or become upset, anything but happy that his appetite died. “I’m not hungry anymore.”

Cye looks up at him confused before sighing, “Kento, please. I don’t want to start a fight. Having Ryo explode on everyone was more than enough for one night.”

“We’re not fighting.” Kento sighs and pulls out one of the chairs from the smaller table in the kitchen, “Will you at least take a seat? You’re making me nervous.”

“Me standing up is making you nervous?”

“Look man, you can try and pretend to be ok all you want. But you’re really not. You don’t look okay at all. It doesn’t take a genius to see you’re not doing well.”

The other sits down in the chair with Kento’s help. The movement jolted his arm and he felt a wave of pain hit him without warning. He clenches his eyes shut leaning back into the chair. He hears movement before turning to see Kento had knelt down beside him.

“You’re my best friend, Cye… I can’t stand it when you’re in pain. Especially when you won’t do something about it. P-Please, let me get Sage. He can help.”

“We need to be worrying about those swords and that tiger that attacked tonight, not me.” He sighs frustrated. “I try so hard to not be a bother and yet I somehow always manage to be in the way.”

“Hey, woah, where is that coming from? You’re apart of this team as much as any of us.”

“No one else is injured, Kento. I don’t want to hold us back.” Though now that he admitted to not feeling well, it was hard to pretend again. He had spent so much energy the past few days to act normal and not worry anyone. He smiles weakly towards Kento before sighing wincing as he moves slightly. “I still need to make dinner…so if Sage is going to look at it, let’s go ahead and get it over with. J-Just please don’t do it in front of Ryo. He’s already so stressed as it is.”

“Sure, dude. I’ll go get him. Just rest.” Hardrock reached up and gently pet the red hair before gently nuzzling the other slightly. Then he stood up and walked out of the kitchen on a mission.

“You don’t think it’s strange that Cye didn’t make it out with us earlier?” Rowen asked nervously. “I’m tellin’ ya something is wrong. He was right behind me and then he disappeared.”

“I’m sure he just waited to see what was going on.” Sage attempted to argue as he sat the table. “We’ve all been run ragged and are learning how to control the white armor. It wouldn’t shock me at all if he stumbled or nearly collapsed.”

“Buddy, that’s even worse!! If that’s the case we need to.. you need to check up on him.” Rowen hisses frustrated as he puts the silverware down. “If he is hurt or not feeling well, then we just sent an injured person to go cook for us.”

“Would you stop for a second? I was waiting until Ryo left before I did anything. The last thing we need is another blow out and Cye would feel even worse if he knew he caused it.” The blonde sighs approaching the other.

They both go quiet as Kento walks out of the kitchen. “Kento?” Rowen started. “Everythin’ ok?”

“Sage, I need you and halo in the kitchen right now. He’s not doing well. He’s injured himself.. his arm.. it’s still hurt and he can’t use it… he collapsed earlier, when we ran outside a-and..”

“Ok, slow down and try again.”

“Cye. Man, he’s hurt. His arm is really badly hurt. He can’t use it anymore. It was bleeding earlier but he wouldn’t let me tell you. When were fighting that black tiger? He said he nearly passed out on the way to see us..”

“I told you something was wrong.”

Sage held his hand up for Rowen to be quiet. “Go on.”

“J-Just come in here ok? I forced him to sit down and relax a bit before he collapses on us. He said he didn’t want to be an inconvience.” Kento explains as he leads the two of them into the kitchen. “J-Just we can’t tell Ryo…”

“He’s with Mia right now looking at the map that will take us to the volcano.” Rowen says as he closes the door behind him. “Cye? Buddy, are you ok?”

They go quiet as they hear a moan of pain. The bearer of Torrent attempts to sit up but has lost the energy to pretend anymore. His body ached so badly and was so sore and tender. He was afraid to admit that he wasn’t sure if he could make dinner or not… or even make up the stairs on his own.

He feels a warm hand on his forehead and opens his eyes looking over. Sage was in his field of vision. The blonde looked very worried as he checked him over. “Cye, I’m going to use Halo. You’re going to see a green haze and you may feel the urge to sleep… that just means Halo is talking to Torrent and helping…”

No sooner than Sage finished explaining it did his vision get the green haze to it. He lifts his gaze slightly to see Rowen and Kento hovering closely. “…Ryo…?”

“Just relax. Ryo is with Mia.” Sage’s voice sounded far away as a wave of vertigo takes over. It felt like he was falling off of something but instead of hitting the ground, he hit something softer. Before he could figure out what happened, darkness took over and he passed out.

“Mia.” Rowen calls from the door of her office. “Can I speak to you for a second?”

“Hm? Of course!” She gets up walking over.

Ryo starts to join but stops when Rowen speaks, “Not right now, Ryo. It’s all good. Just Mia.”

“U-Uh sure, dude..”

He had to ignore the half hurt look in the others face and focus on what needed to happen. It felt wrong for keeping Wildfire out of the loop but with him panicking over everything, it wouldn’t help.

“Rowen? Is everything ok?” She asks worried following him into the hallway.

“Not exactly… look. Can we put off traveling until tomorrow morning?” He sighs scratching the back of his neck, “C-Cye’s injured… he’s had it since Sarenbo and we need to get it under control.”

“W-Wait what?!”

“Shh. We don’t want Ryo to know until we know what’s going on… right now, it doesn’t look like a normal battle injury. Sage can’t heal it.”

“At all?”

“He can take the pain away but that’s it. Kento carried Cye up to their room and Sage is in there doing some sort of medicated bandage. At the very least, Cye’s arm will be in a sling for the forseeable future.”

“Rowen..”

“I know. I’m scared too.” He then puts a smile on his face. “So if its okay, just let us figure things out and we can leave early AM.”

“Sure! We can leave early in the morning tomorrow.”

Cye moaned groggily as he was laid down in his bed. Instead of laying directly on the mattress, he felt a lot of pillows be moved around to where they supported his body and took the ache and tenderness away… the throbbing pain in his arm was still there.

Did he dare open his eyes? Right now he felt like he was spinning in circles on something he couldn’t stop. It felt like the bed was spinning. He let out another moan of discomfort as he tried to reach out for something to hold onto.

He felt a large hand grasp his and hold it tightly, “Easy, dude. I’m right here. Sage is going to wrap your arm in these cooling bandages… your arm is really giving off heat and we need to lower it before your fever gets any higher.”

“…f-fever…?”

“Yeah, you’ve been walking around with one for a few days – at least that’s what Sage says.” Kento explains nervously, it always left him worried when his friend was hurt and sick like this. Like he could protect him from evil, but he couldn’t fix whatever this was.

He shivered watching as Cye’s eyes opened.. instead of the usual bright green, they were dull barely focused and heavy. He forces a smile. “It’s going to be okay. Kento’s here! Sage is going to wrap ya up then help take the pain away.. we can push the beds together and you can curl up next to me tonight if you want.”

The other was quiet for a minute or so before he smiles sleepily, “I’d like t-that..”

Kento sighs relieved.

As far as the world is concerned, Lu Ten II doesn't exist and the Royal Bloodline ends with Princess Azula. The little kid that follows Prince Zuko everywhere? That's Ten Ten, an orphaned stowaway his Crew found and adopted for some weird reason no-one ever questions—the kid is just that lovable.

(It helps, honestly, that Lu Ten II is a carbon-copy of poor, forgotten Ursa. No one would ever think to connect him with Fire Lord Ozai, long may he reign.)

Little Ten Ten loves to run off when the Crew is on shore leave. He gets into trouble sometimes, but only because of his chronic inability to look away from people who need help (it makes Zuzu both so proud and so shouty-because-he's-worried. It's fun until it isn't).

By now the Crew knows not to panic when the kid goes missing for a couple of hours in a harbor town—which is why no one noticed Ten Ten's disappearance until it was too late.

"Could someone please explain to me," what starts as a mutter becomes a shout as anxiety takes over Sokka, "why on earth did we go into town to buy necessary, highly specific supplies, and returned—not only with a stolen waterbending scroll—stolen! From pirates, Katara!—but with a Fire Nation-looking KID?!"

While Ten Ten is having the time of his life goofing with Aang, out-sassing why-is-this-happening-to-me Sokka, and melting Katara's heart—Zuko is losing his mind, sanity, and temper because how on Agni's name do you lose a Prince of your nation?

Needless to say, the pirates kidnap the pretty waterbending thief and her kid with the sharp tongue and fancy-looking clothes. Which turns out to be a Bad Idea™ because, well, a skinny guy from the watertribes and his way-too-young-to-be-bald companion? They can absolutely deal with them.

A Crew's worth of murderous Fire Nation soldiers lead by the unforgiving, terrifying, bloodthirsty Prince?

They are not ready for that.

saw a tweet about mer!ghost being rescued from roba by price and placed in his rehab facility that soap lives in after a boat propeller injured his tail and now i’m obsessed with the idea that ghost thinks he's traded one hell for another and when he sees the beached shark mer with a human device strapped to his tail, it's all but confirmed for him

the pens they’re in are poorly designed; they’re huge, deep with glass walls but completely open to each other and it takes nothing to pull himself over the edge into the the other mer's cage. he swims over to the platform he’s trapped on and hushes what he thinks is panicked warnings and fearful pleading. he covers his mouth and begs him to stay quiet; ghost is bigger and as an injured mer, he has every right to fear he'd take his territory if not eat him outright but he can’t escape and leave this mer behind to endure his fate

he promises he won't hurt him, promises he'll find a way to free them both from this human prison

the mer quiets, eyes narrowing in such human confusion that it makes him ache; this mer has been here too long, to have adopted their mannerisms and abandoned any hope of freedom

ghost quickly checks their surroundings, ensuring none of their jailers heard the mer's noises. no one disturbs them and he pulls the mer off the platform into the water, diving under his tail to get a better look at the trap. the mer tries to pull away, tries to get him to stop; it must hurt something awful if even freedom isn't enough of a temptation to try removing it

ghost winds his own tail around him, immobilising the mer and uses his teeth to tear through the trap and his heart breaks to see how his poor tail has been mangled; more than half of it gone, deep scarring left in its wake

he releases the mer and jets back to the surface; he’s wasted too much time, they need to hurry before the humans return. but when he looks to coax the mer through an escape, he sees him sinking to the floor like a stone, writhing and moving his arms in an attempt to swim but nothing stops his fall

ghost ducks back down and takes the mer in his arms-

only to rear back when he claws him away, baring his fangs in a threat display even as he sinks back to the floor, unmoving

ghost circles him, confused why he won't let him help when he sees him start to suffocate. he's a shark mer; if he doesn't swim, he can't breathe

and with only half a tail, he can't swim at all

ghost tries again but the mer won’t let him close so he waits for his eyes to begin to flutter and charges in, grabbing the mer out of reach of his claws and fangs and drags him through the water; forcing precious oxygen into his gills

he swims in circles until the mer comes to, sluggishly clawing at his arms but he refuses to let go. he won't leave this mer behind, even if he has to carry him through the ocean for the rest of their lives

but they took too long

a human enters and sees ghost holding the injured mer and hits something that makes the walls screech, red flashing from the ceiling, and even more human come charging in. ghost clutches the injured mer to his chest and hisses, saliva flying from his bared fangs

he won't let them hurt him any more

he spins, trying to keep them all in his sight- when the shark mer's fin slaps him in the face. his arms slacken around him and he throws himself at one of the walls of the cage, gripping it to hold himself up

ghost stares at him, betrayed and enraged; they've broken this poor mer until he doesn't even know who his true allies are anymore

his tail thumps against the wall, instinctively trying to swim and support his weight and one of the humans drops to one knee. he throws an arm out, barking something and another human takes off running

he turns back to the injured mer, grabbing hold of his arm and ghost hisses again, rushing them both when the mer snarls at him to stop and he freezes. he watches the mer hold his arms up and the human clasps his forearms and stands, walking him along the border of his cage back to the platform he'd been beached on

but he chirps as the human tugs him up on it, curling up with the end of his tail just barely dipping in the water

like he's happy

the wailing and flashing lights abruptly stop and ghost fights the urge to shake the echoing ring from his ears. the other human returns and he doesn't fight the hiss when he sees another trap in his arms; the same one the mer had around his tail

ghost's hiss cuts off when he gets a face full of water and he splutters, looking back incredulously at the shark mer who'd just splashed him

he laughs at whatever look is on his face and rolls his eyes in another painfully human gesture. he reaches for the trap, fingers flexing like he's trying to pull it right out of the air and the human shakes his head as he hands it over

the mer lifts his tail onto the platform and ghost can't believe his eyes when he fits the trap onto himself; tightening every strap until the muscles of his tail bulge under the pressure. the mer slumps like he's relieved and shoots him a look; daring and almost playful and winks as he throws himself into the water

ghost lunges for him, waiting for him to sink again-

but he's not sinking

he's swimming

he twirls and spins around him like an overgrown dolphin, flaunting his strength and agility and the humans around them laugh and shake their heads at the display like they’re used to it and ghost realises it isn't a trap on his tail

it is his tail

the humans gave him a new tail

the mer flicks to a stop in front of him, now easily supporting his weight and gives him a full-fanged grin

"you're a little tangled up inside, huh, big boy?"

also thinking again about werewolf luo binghe and his human mate shen yuan,,, they would be so cute together,,,, lbh getting extra sticky around the full moon, and sy indulges him because ‘he can’t help it; his instincts mean he needs me to sit on his lap in the common areas of the pack’s den’

he doesn’t entertain such shameless pda except around the full moon and certain lunar events™ like eclipses (and festivals/celebration like the new year,,, and the springtime,,, and binghe’s birthday…………). but when those roll around, shen yuan is a blushing mess.

he’ll be held on binghe’s lap with his big dumb wolf boyfriend pressing his nose to sy’s neck, sneaking a hand up under his shirt to press against the skin of his middle, nipping at his ears and making low, pleased rumbling sounds deep in his chest. binghe will insist on hunting and cooking for him, serving him first, feeding him by hand for as long as sy can stand it.

lbh takes advantage of sy’s indulgent moments shamelessly. he gets to cuddle his cute little mate out in the open where the rest of his pack can see it, reinforcing his claim. he gets to run with his pack and then be praised for it when he comes back to his mate with whatever he hunted for him. he gets to soak in his mate’s scent and the scent of ‘uspacktogethermates’ and it makes him feel so warm and safe and wanted.

imagine that before his death, Kon accidentally wounded Tim - this is a tragic mistake and as a result one eye is completely blinded [it is cloudy and dull gray like dirty glass], and there are ugly stripes of scars on his face that could not be removed in any way.

Kon blames himself, Tim comforts him and says everything sooner or later he would have been disfigured anyway. He's glad it was Kon.

And Tim, blind in one eye and with a half-mutilated face, holds his daughter in his arms wrapped in a red blanket with the symbol of the house of El and smiling tenderly.

In the old version of the plot for this au, it had a lot to do with it being a game and such. However over the years it's changed! No longer a game, instead the Rescas explosion seemed to have had a .. strange affect on Gordon, due to him being right next to it. At least, that's what they all believe at first.

This one is New Age filled!!! (Close-ups abd Lore beneath the cut!)

1) Night and Cross!

Night is actually very clingy once he's a teen. He doesn't usually realize it, but around the castle he'll snake to be closer to his Knights so long as there's no one he needs to keep his composure infront of is nearby. Cross is the one who's not used to physical touch (when it's not Ink ofc) so Night in his personal bubble makes his heart melt but also scares tf out of him <3

2) Error and Night's Meeting!

Error was carrying his whole life on his back and trying not to get arrested for unintentional property damage at this point, so when he saw the chance to get back at his brother and prove he was strong enough? Yeah, he got that on chance instantly. And was VERY smug when Nightmare chose him. (Also, Error is wearing gloves, so less Haphephobia)

3) Dream and Blue designs!

I think these are good tentative designs! Dream probably has a more regal fit, but he likes to play up that rugged exile look- He's inspired by Archers, while Blue takes on that classic Knightly-vibe. Their equipment is mostly stolen from Night's troops or brought with them from Blue's home kingdom.

Also, Dream is approx Killer's height at this point, shorter than Cross and *much* shorter than Apple!Nightmare. (Hc that Skeletons tend to be tinier in stature thanks to weird monster beauty standards. Horror and Geno's fam are outliers.)

4) Horror and Dust designs!

Horror is naturally a very *large* monster. He's very malnourished when Nightmare meets him, but by the time he's a Knight Nightmare has made sure that's no longer the case. He actually loves comfy, simple clothes, but to play up the whole 'strong mysterious' bit he wears a more barbaric Knight's garb. He doesn't mind acting scary, it's more fun that way :]. Dust is very very small, and envies horror sometimes for his size, but his tiny stature let's him control his body and move a lot quicker. He's very much based on a rogue, and usually covers the lower part of his face w/ a black cloth, and the upper part w/ his hood or mask. Dust only removes both to bathe, eat, or relax in a safe location. (Ignore that I can't draw the stupid gaster blaster lmao-)

These last two were space-fillers, but Cross and his Borzoi (Windmill, otherwise known as Milly (Killer named her-)) and really bad first wips of Ccino! I think Ccino was a chubby, happy toddler, but lost a lot of 'weight' (bone mass? Magic?) due to stress and pressure and bad eating habits. So it isn't until a while after the Coronation that he starts to relax abd feel safe enough to eat normal meals (Nightmare used to guilt him into eating snacks together, but as his boss (and younger brother) he can encourage it more often). By the time Killer shows he's still not quite healthy, but he's better. As more weight is lifted off his shoulders, the better he is. (That 'beauty' most people saw was a more stereotypical slimness, but Killer never stopped seeing Ccino as beautiful-) I think he never looked traditionally underweight, so no one noticed, and it was only much later that Night processed it. (And maybe it's why Dream hardly recognized him later on-)

HE IS A COMPUTER TECHNICIAN AT MANDARK'S CORPORATION!! And general technician as well

Douglas is the only one who actually knows how the computers work and is at charge of the power energy of the building. The problem is that he is the ONLY one that is at charge of these tasks, despite how efficient it would be if Mandark actually hired more people for that department to help Douglas out, this is on purpose as putting Dexter's best friend under so much distress feels like indirect misery for Dexter !! And Mandark was never truly fond of Douglas in the first place, boot licking dork.....

Despite the horrific stress and lack of sleep from all the exploitation, Douglas still tries to stay cheerful and positive about the circumstances

Also fun fact! His designated number is 137 as a reference to Tom Kenny's birthday (his VA)

I did some miscellaneous doodles for the There's A Place For Us AU because these doofuses live in my head rent free thanks to my own doing. I should get around to drawing more of the kiddos too but I will admit I have a weak spot for the OG siblings. One day I'll figure out Sukuna's tattoos so help me, even if drawing chrysanthemums will be a hell of my own making.

Half of this was me trying to figure out how to draw them at certain/younger ages and the other half was me trying to figure out which features to shift because of different genetics and showing where they look similar, etc. I'm still feeling the latter out so don't look too closely lmao. They're supposed to be freaks of nature anyway <3 (except for Panda, he's just the baby and a carbon copy of Masamichi)
