HELL YES!!! I had a "Happy Any Day" yesterday w/my good friend Ted. Where: Hunter's Landing (82 Fort York Blvd, Toronto) When: Sunday, September 27, 2015 What: Bishops Benedict (pulled pork, baguettine, chimichurri drizzled, hollandaise, with breakfast potatoes) How Much: $14 Comments: A bit surprised at the 3 options for eggs benedict. Besides this pulled pork one, the other two had either lobster or smoked salmon. My pulled pork was a bit of a odd mix of tastes and texture. The sauce mixed with the cold runny egg yolk and the hollandaise (and soggy baguette) wasn't overly appetizing for me unfortunately. Solo lunch in Cityplace: Hunters Landing

The CityPlace community south of downtown Toronto is  growing and slowly but surely coming along. And to cater to this ever growing population of condo dwellers, a few upper end casual restaurants have been opening their doors in the last few years. One of them is Hunters Landing.

This establishment is owned by the same team as Williams Landing in Liberty Village, as well as Harpers Landing in Oakville. The menu tends towards what I could call “gourmet comfort food” (such as pulled pork mac and cheese and chicken curry) as well as bistro staples such as steak frites. The chef, Dennis Palma-Cedeno, is of Latin American origin, and it shows on the menu with such dishes as paella or chimichurri chicken pizza.

Today was Saint Patrick’s Day and the staff was appropriately dressed in green....... just like everywhere else, right?

I went there around 2:30 pm and the place was almost empty, which is to expect. 

The weather was wonderful but hey, it was chilly still so, even if offered, their expansive patio would not have been an option as far as I am concerned. It will definitely be an option come summer, though.

Well the Irish Holiday made me crave for beer.  First, Guinness (8 dollars a pint)

Then, a Creemore (7.00). I was also craving a good hamburger and as I was scoping the menu, my eyes stumbled upon the Hunters Burger (17 dollars): freshly ground beef, House bbq sauce, Fried Onions and Pulled Pork, all brilliantly placed between the two halves of a delicious brioche hamburger bun.

Delicious fries with just enough salt were the perfect complement to this delicious burger.

Hunters Landing is a great spot for drinks in the area. They have a great cocktail list, their wine and beer selection, while not endless, is definitely not too shabby. However, the food is good and unpretentious, made with quality ingredients.And there is a bit of everything for everyone.

Do what I do and get the opentable application for your smartphone, and you will be able to reserve a table at Hunters Landing in a matter of seconds. So, go and enjoy.
