So, apparently, B-15 is supposed to be Verity Willis, and I've seen so many posts loving and praising this. Well, I gotta say that this...doesn't deserve any praise and love. In fact, this was a stupid decision.
Verity in the comics is Loki's best friend who was there for him when he was going through an identity crisis. She had a cool look and powers that could detect lies. Her MCU version is nothing like her. She's a time cop who's not even Loki's friend, doesn't have her abilities, her personality, nothing except the name.
Now, I was cool with B-15 as her own character. But, now that Verity's name is slapped onto her, she's gonna be compared to the actual comic character and see how vastly different the two are. Yet again, an original character taking the place of a comic character in the MCU, which sucks cause again, I was cool with B-15.
So, I don't get why this reveal and choice is getting so much praise when it shouldn't. I know that fans of the character would want better than this, so why?

JUDY is Cult Creative’s known as the most well-known and best-selling artist, later beating even the quartet HEAT BURN. However, unlike her current positive image, she was once called Disaster Rookie due to her disastrous debut.
HEART ATTACK is JUDY's first extended play, released on May 2, 2013. Unfortunately, the EP was a complete failure despite being widely anticipated by fans of Cult Creative artists. The album had four tracks, including Rendezvous, which featured soloist IU, LilyPad member Grace, and the widely adored b-side Sugar.
The story within it tells the tale of unrequited love between two students, with Judy constantly trying to get another student’s attention throughout the title track’s music video.
HEART ATTACK had many incidents during its short promotional period. Most notably, several hecklers greeted the rookie idol at her debut stage, many hurling insults at her for even stepping on the stage. Netizens weren’t easy on her either, criticizing the label for allowing her to embarrass herself in front of so many people or making fun of her for crying on stage and running off.
In a 2021 interview, the singer recalled her painful debut experience; “I remember being yelled at and belittled for being on stage. I couldn’t see who was yelling, so I think it made it much more traumatic for me.” she said, “I ran off stage before I could even finish the song! I just couldn’t take the insults anymore. After, I isolated myself for a long time; I was scared to leave my dorm and—for a while—only went out at night. I had nightmares about it, too; I still have those nightmares sometimes.”
LADIES NIGHT was released five months after her traumatic debut as the first single album of JUDY. Announcements of the debut were met with instant pushback, with netizens accusing the label of wanting to embarrass the rookie further. However, these comments were squashed with its official release on September 2. PURPLE NIGHTS and LADY would both become two of the most popular songs of 2013, redeeming JUDY in the eyes of South Korean music critics.
The music videos for both promoted tracks were heavily influenced by the works of Wong Kar-wai and mid-1970 to 1980s Japan. It also gained inspiration from anime like City Hunter and Cowboy Bebop; PURPLE NIGHTS takes inspiration from the dream-like imagery of Wong Kar-wai, while LADY takes place in a futuristic Seoul. The single album accumulated the singer fifteen (15) music show wins in total, including Rookie of the Year at the Mnet Asian Music Awards. She was nominated for Best New Female Artist and won Song of the Year at the Melon Music Awards with PURPLE NIGHTS. In addition, it was also the first project for which JUDY would be credited for producing and writing.
The Jazz Manouche and Jazz Pop extended play was released on the August Equinox in 2014. Whispers around this EP began when a vengeful ex-Cult Creative employee leaked two clips of the album’s title track.
OH! MY GOODNESS represents the title track, while IS WHO? is the promoted b-side. THE EP,  GRAND DREAMS, is the soloist’s second mini album.  Similar to her previous releases, this album follows a storyline that spins a tale around love. These stories, however, revolve around the feeling of falling in love, depicting a world going from monochrome to vibrant with color, as well as a tale of greed, never being satisfied with those who try to court her, going as far as to kill those who fail to impress her.
OH! MY GOODNESS and IS WHO? accumulated the most music show wins of any JUDY release thus far, winning sixteen total: nine for the former and seven for the latter. Upon release, the title track peaked at number three on the Gaon Digital Chart, while the album peaked at ten.
JUDY’s third mini album, BITTER, sold nearly seven million copies in its first week of release. In addition, this era saw a drastic change in the treatment she would get from Cult Creative; she would get the actual staff that wasn’t Daphne Choi, much of which still work with Judy in the present day.
BITTER was released on the 18th of May 2015. While the title track, BEAUTIFUL FANTASIES, debuted in the top five of Gaon’s Digital Chart, the b-side DIAMOND, was a massive hit, peaking at the number one (1) spot and staying rooted there for four weeks.
Due to this EP being the most mature release, there have been many rumors surrounding its making. The most prominent was her breakup with actor Park Joon-ki, who was rumored to have cheated on the singer. While Cult Creative vehemently denied these rumors, one of the producers of the EP, Goldie Anton, alluded to these being true. JUDY has never directly acknowledged the rumors.
LOVE LETTER, released on Valentine’s Day in 2016, is the fourth extended play by JUDY. Like its sister release, the EP made history for the singer and the label. The EP took place 44 on Billboard's 100 Greatest K-Pop Songs of the 2010s, while the lead single, MAKE ME HAPPY, peaked at number two on Gaon’s Digital Chart.
OH MY GOD! is JUDY's first and only 2017 release. The fifth extended play, which contains seven tracks, was released on August 18. This EP marked the opening of Team Honeysuckle, the production label dedicated to JUDY and her works.
The EP contains six tracks, excluding the CD-only single, Queen of Hearts, which features soloist Yeobi, hiraeth's Kaia, and Acid Flower's Youha. The era consists of only one music video, for the title track WOMAN. The video was published a day before the album's official release and was followed by two performance clips: Noir version and Femme Fatale version.
For their first project, Team Honeysuckle went all out with promotions. Teaser images advertising an exhibit to promote the comeback were released on August 4th and August 7th, and music video teasers were released on the 13th and 16th. The exhibit, 'From Diamonds,' was held from August 13 to August 17th.
The album peaked at seven on Gaon’s Album Chart, while WOMAN sat at six on the Digital Chart.
OH MY GOD! was nominated for several major music show awards. For the Golden Disc Awards, she won Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. She won  Best Dance Performance, Song of the Year, and Best Collaboration for the Mnet Asian Music Awards. Finally, she won Musician of the Year at the Korean Music Awards. In total, she won six major awards and nineteen music show awards.
SOBER is JUDY's second single album. It was released on May 28, 2018, with Don't Say No as the title track and sOBeR and About Love as b-sides.
Unlike its predecessors, SOBER didn’t make any huge waves for JUDY. Compared to older releases, it felt lackluster to most SongBirds, many of whom considered this JUDY’s first real miss.
LITTLE BIRD is JUDY's seventh mini-album. The EP, released on June 18, 2018, consists of six tracks, led by the title track, BETTER. While the title track was popular, peaking at the third spot on many music charts, the songs Little Bird and TEMPTATIONS made the album as popular as it was.
The EP’s namesake, Little Bird, debuted at number one on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart, while TEMPTATIONS debuted at number five. In addition, Little Bird debuted atop the Billboard World Digital Song Sales—becoming JUDY’s first number one on the ranking.
BETTER was certified platinum six months after its release by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA)
On November 21, 2018, WHAT THE FLOWER? was released as a pre-single for JUDY’s upcoming untitled first studio album. The song was announced one week before its release and wasn’t accompanied by a music video but a live performance video instead.
Despite its dull promotion, the song still did well. It did its job as a pre-single and built anticipation around the singer's long-awaited studio album.
Tumblr media
ADDITIONAL TRIVIA.
In 2021, some random Twitter account revealed that Judy co-wrote some of the songs on HEART ATTACK; Daphne later confirmed this and said that Judy wrote much of the title track and Sugar and that it was Judy who didn’t want to be credited on those songs.
According to a fan poll held in 2019, LADIES NIGHT era is one of Judy’s most iconic, primarily due to her being blonde (which is something she said she’d never do again)
Production-wise, GRAND DREAMS is her favorite EP.
Even with Judy's treatment change, BITTER’s promotions were very chaotic (dancers being late or not showing up, sound issues, etc.).
LOVE LETTER is an unofficial billet-doux to SongBirds.
Also, Judy broke her first bone in LOVE LETTER era, breaking her ankle—which caused promotion to end prematurely.
LITTLE BIRD was mostly popular with i-SongBirds, during this era she got a lot more international attention and fans.

Younger Siblings Tournament Bracket Reveal
A few things I want to mention before I reveal the bracket (and make the post really long because all the matchups will be listed in text):
Seeding of fictional characters in tumblr polls is inherently subjective. I did try to make it so that more popular characters/media would (most likely) face off against each other in later rounds, but I may be overestimating or underestimating the popularity of some characters/media, especially ones I'm not familiar with. There are some round 1 matchups that are probably a closer match but none of them are between the strongest candidates... I think.
The more niche characters will probably get obliterated in the first round as per Squimbus' Law. This is a tumblr poll and I do fully expect more popular characters to sweep, but that doesn't mean you can't encourage your friends to give your niche faves a fighting chance.
Also there are some matchups I literally just thought would be funny. Please don't take this too seriously.
I'm sorry BNHA fans.
(Preliminary Patch Notes 3/14: Swapped brackets 2 and 3, and brackets 19 and 21.)

I love lokius dates as much as the next person, but I desperately need a Mobius centered episode. My man was told his life was stolen from him, brainwashed to work in an agency where they sent innocent ppl to a void where they would get killed and not only that, now he took the responsibility of fixing said agency, trying to help the others on their own trauma of them too losing their lifes and memories while time and multiverse are falling apart. I need to know more about Mobius inner world and outside the TVA. I need to study him under a microscope.
Big shout out to B-15 bc she, too, shares the same burden as Mobius, imo and she pretty much started the movement. I just think that since she is a hunter, her reaction is more to act, while Mobius is more about critical thinking, making a plan, and acting on it. We need to see them working together more.

Steven Holl Architects brushed off criticisms of its Hunters Point Library in Long Island City, New York, that has a number of areas inaccessible to people with disabilities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It came under fire because its elevator stopped short of 3 levels that were home to fiction books, making them off limits to visitors that are unable to walk. They said it’s not inaccessible b/c staff could go up and get the books. Yeah, but what about browsing?
Tumblr media
As a children’s librarian myself, I wouldn’t be thrilled with this children’s dept. access.  A mezzanine above the ground floor contains an adult reading section and a children's area, and the level above it contains reading collections that are divided in half across the floor, for adults and children.
Tumblr media
You KNOW that kids are going to play on this curved bamboo wall.

Loki Season 2: Disney+ Confirms Marvel Studios Legends Episodes
Two new Loki-centric Marvel Studios: Legends episodes centering on Loki will begin streaming on Disney+ on September 29th.
Marvel Studios is getting ready to release the second season of Loki on Disney, and it will be the next significant chapter of The Multiverse Saga. From everything we've seen in the first trailer, Loki Season 2 looks like it will do some pretty big things for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it will also give fans another look at Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). Some fans may need to remember what happened in the first season, and Marvel Studios has a solution. Disney+ has confirmed that two Marvel Studios: Legends focusing on Loki will release on September 29th, a few days before Loki Season 2 premieres.
What will the Marvel Studios: Legends Loki Episode be About?
Both episodes will act as a refresher for Loki Season 1 as the second season approaches and here's how the first episode Variants is described, "Who is Loki? Is he a raven-haired chap in a green suit with a penchant for deception and depravity? Is he instead a she with blonde hair who prefers to be called Sylvie? Or could Loki actually be an overly sensitive alligator with golden horns and a taste for cats? Truth be told, Loki is all of the above — thanks to the existence of numerous Variants. Okay… so what exactly is a Variant?
This episode of 'LEGENDS' holds the answer to that critical question, and more. A Variant is an individual that doesn't belong to the so-called "sacred timeline," and thus hails from a kind of alternate reality where there might exist a very different version of Loki, or someone called Mobius, or Renslayer, or Kang. Still having trouble making sense of it all? Fear not, 'LEGENDS' has got you covered!"
Heres how the second episode titled TVA is described, "There is a 'sacred timeline' — a timeline that must be protected at all costs. And let's hope that you and I are a genuine part of it. For if not, we might one day be visited by agents of the TIME VARIANCE AUTHORITY — agents who will be obligated to 'prune' us and banish us to a nightmarish world that resides in perpetual isolation at the absolute end of time.
'LEGENDS' explores the mysterious origins of the TVA, and sifts the fact from the fiction. Are the Time-Keepers truly a trio of godlike beings responsible for the TVA's creation? Or, could they merely be artificial figureheads meant to obscure the identity of some flesh-and-blood mastermind possessing secrets both dark and ancient? This episode of 'LEGENDS' holds every answer."
What happens in in Loki Season 2?
Here's how Marvel Studios describes Loki Season 2: "Loki Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15, and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous Multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes, and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose."

Dahlia Damutamu
Tumblr media
Image © Fur Affinity user slushy.
[I've been statting up a fair amount of my own OCs as characters for Monster Girl Summer, as well as a few belonging to other folks I've become friends with over the course of my time running the Codex. This is the latter, being an OC belonging to @arachcobra. They sponsored me covering some of the Crimson Court, after all, so what better way to expand on that than a mosquito anthro with a rocket launcher?
BTW, if you're interested in Arachcobra's world building and characters, they've started a side blog for their original writing @weavercobra. ]
Dahlia Damutamu CR 13 CN Aberration This creature appears to be a humanoid mosquito, with a needle-sharp proboscis and clawed hands. Her carapace is black, and her swollen abdomen and the veins in her wings are a lurid red. She wears tight fitting leather armor, and has daggers hanging from her belt.
Dahlia Damutamu is an inhuman hedonist, always looking for her next thrill. She is amoral rather than immoral, having grown out of the petty evil that characterizes most of her fellow crimson courtiers, but still primarily concerned with filling her belly and entertaining herself. Although her heroic deeds have saved lives and averted catastrophes, Dahlia was more motivated by the challenge than by any thoughts of helping others. Only if the people she cares about are threatened will she do anything remotely selfless.
In her centuries of existence, Dahlia feels that her mind has gone a bit stale. She is an avid reader, and has quite the collection of rare books, but is more inclined these days to read old favorites rather than learning anything new. This frustrates her as much as anything, and pushing herself out of her comfort zones is Dahlia’s primary goal. She is, however, flighty and scatterbrained, especially once blood has been spilled—the smell of her favorite food drives her to distraction and violence.
In combat, Dahlia fights with a mixture of her natural weapons and enchanted daggers. She is an excellent marksman, and her favorite strategy is to weaken foes with thrown daggers before closing in to feed. The more blood she drinks, the more durable Dahlia grows, and most combats end with her swollen and her foe dead and desiccated. One of Dahlia’s newest toys is a rocket launcher, stolen from a Technic League wizard she killed and ate; she isn’t proficient in heavy weaponry but still enjoys and uses its explosive firepower.

Dahlia has wings, unlike a typical crimson courtier, granting her a fly speed of 50 feet with good maneuverability. She also gains a +2 racial bonus on all ability scores. This ability increases her CR by +1. Darting Riposte (Ex) As an immediate action, Dahlia may attempt to make a melee attack against a creature that makes a melee attack against it. If she hits, it can move up to half its speed without provoking an attack of opportunity, although the attack made against it resolves as normal. A crimson courtier may use this ability a number of times a day equal to its Dexterity modifier (3/day for the average specimen, 6/day for Dahlia) Savor the Sting (Ex): Whenever a target takes bleed damage from Dahlia’s vengeance ability, she gains an equal number of temporary hit points. These temporary hit points last for 1 minute and do not stack with each other. Sip Blood (Su) Whenever Dahlia deals damage to a living creature with its bite attack, she gains 5 temporary hit points. These hit points are lost in 1 hour if not expended. Tenacious Tracker (Ex): Dahlia gains a +2 bonus on Diplomacy checks to gather information and on Survival checks made to identify or follow tracks. Vengeance (Ex): Dahlia deals 1d6 points of bleed damage when he damages a creature that has damaged him since the beginning of his last turn. Whenever a creature takes bleed damage from this effect, it also takes a –1 penalty on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks for 1 round. This penalty is a pain effect and does not stack with the effects of the sickened condition.

finished Six of Crows yesterday (yes I skipped shadow and bone entirely the opening exposition was annoying me buuuut I'll go back later. Blame my friend she said I should start with SoC) and I haven't started Crooked Kingdom (no spoilers please!) however I wanted to dump my thoughts for a bit (I probably ended up being overly critical so if this is your fav series maybe scroll by lol)
-the characters were the highlight of the story for me, super well executed banter. Tie between Kaz and Matthias for fav POV. (Kaz's backstory was especially well done, the way it influenced his actions throughout SoC was very natural)
-worldbuilding/lore was pretty easy to follow even though I did not read S&B or watch the show. magic system is pretty cool, excited to see it fleshed out in S&B
-not sure how I feel about how ship-happy this series is (maybe the author was trying to outrun ship war potential idk). possibly makes more sense when viewed as a series? (will have to update my opinion later) but overall having every main pov character paired off somewhat sappily by the end of book one was ehhh? I'm not opposed to romantic subplots but I felt they may have held too much influence in the main plot here.
-hrrmmm love me some GrimDark (not) (ok not when it's not done very impactfully imo) (mmmm let's not explore the ethics of casually taking lives for more than 0.5 seconds) (yes it's a fantasy book but still) (particularly Jesper's pov was ... odd) (he seemed to have issues with his actions but also didn't?) (maybe it will make more sense upon reread)
-Standard Heist Plot (no notes) (yes to explosives)
-ok back to the crit. one of the reviews in the front of my copy compared SoC to ASOIAF (haven't read it but I know enough to verify) and like yes actually it really did feel somewhat like aggressively PG-13 Game of Thrones. (I dunno this is more of a personal gripe with authors feeling the need to inject the sexual exploitation of women into their fantasy novels in order to be more Realistic) (especially when it's minors) (bleh)
-idk a lot of the side worldbuilding choices felt like something an edgy 14 year old would choose because they were Dark ™️
-however props for character design, the appearance/physicality of each of the Crows was wonderfully distinct
-not in loooove with the ending. It sets up book two nicely yes but kinda gave me KOTLC cliffhanger flashbacks
-sort of feels like this book is a sanitized adult fantasy novel with de-aged protagonists (could be being unfair here) and a YA plot
-no actually the number of times Nina's breasts are mentioned is absurdly high, the heck was up with that
-so Matthias being a ex-witch hunter = bad (duh) cause he was going to send Grisha to their deaths. Ok makes sense. Now tell me why Kaz/Inej/Jesper killing somewhat indiscriminately is not really addressed in moral terms beyond "necessary"? (Actually ignore this one for now I would need to do a reread before I have full thoughts on this) (But there will be thoughts)
-overall, I had a good time reading this book. Yeah I had problems with it but some of that could honestly stem from the fact that I am not 15 anymore and have different taste in books. (ok ok also I am actively comparing this with Lockwood and Co and I feel that series took equally dark topics but explored them much more maturely) (and honestly also Mistborn. That series also had dark worldbuilding but didn't linger on what it didn't have to?)

Reasons to watch Alita: Battle Angel now that ive discovered it's free on Hulu after seeing that movie in theatres and not being able to find it (mild spoilers)
1. Cyberpunk dystopia
2. Themes of Eat The Rich
3. Super cool sick cinematography
4. Sci Fi Sports games where you can easily get killed (my beloved)
Tumblr media
5. The protagonist is made to look both noticeably adolescent and distinctly non-human. She's thin, short, flat chested, Asian, and immature, but she has these CGI bug eyes that you get used to, but still make her very inhuman and otherworldly. She's adorable.
Tumblr media
6. She's a baddie but not a 😤Strong 😤 Female 😤 Character 😤 if you know what I mean
7. There's a cowboy bounty hunter who loves robot dogs and has 1 line
8. The show has one (1) F Bomb and BOY DO THEY MAKE IT COUNT THAT MOMENT WAS LEGENDARY
9. Set in the slums underneath the last sky city left after an interplanetary war
10. One of the villains is named Vector
Tumblr media
11. Everyone's a cyborg
12. There's an awesome father figure who makes parts for disabled people
13. Alitas ceramic-looking cyberbody
Tumblr media
14. Movie critics HATE IT that's how you know it's good
15. Fans of the Manga LOVED it.
Cons: men who are fans of it are usually the same men who hate Captain Marvel. Probably on the basis of how supposedly Alita is more attractive 🤮 a) she's underage b) she's designed to be offputting and unrealistic, so saying she's better looking than Cap Marvel, a real live human, is really fuckin weird

The basics of Skills.
A long time ago in a post far, far away I took a look at items. Why mention this here?
Well, Skills and Items have a lot in common.
Tumblr media
Their menus are nearly identical. Scope still determines whether the item or skill is used on allies or enemies, and how many it targets at once. Occasion still determines whether it's something you can use in battle, from the menu, both, or neither.
Instead of picking from Item types you choose a Skill type.
Tumblr media
While Items had a set dropdown list, Skills have a list of your making. Pop into the Types tab and you'll notice Magic and Special are listed under Skills. You can increase the maximum to include custom options, change the names of existing ones, or even remove ones you don't want.
Tumblr media
Just make sure you add a Trait to make it usable on an actor or class or the like if you want someone to be able to use it!
Cost here is pretty intuitive. Skills can cost MP or TP (or even both) and an actor cannot cast the skill if the skill costs more than they currently have available. Since they're skills instead of items you pay these instead of worrying about whether they're consumable.
Unlike Scope and Occasion, which I covered in my intro to items, I never did properly explore the other parts of these menus before. Let's fix that by making a Skill.
Damage
Tumblr media
Damage types are determined the same way for Skills and Items. You can chose to inflict damage to a target's HP (or MP) - useful for attack skills or items like bombs. You can recover the HP/MP of a target for healing items and spells. Finally you can drain HP or MP by removing it from the target of the item or spell and giving it to the user.
I could make a HP Drain Skill for my vampire here but...
Tumblr media
the skill Blood Suck already exists in the database as one of the example abilities. I can just give it to Briar as is.
Tumblr media
Instead I'm making a poison arrow for my hunter, so I'll pick HP Damage. Exploring existing skills that RMXP provides as examples is a useful way to learn to make your own, though, so be sure to look at Blood Suck and the rest.
Tumblr media
You can give Skills (and Items) an element if you want. These don't even have to be strictly "elemental." You can go into the Types tab again and add "Piercing" and "Slashing" and the like to further customize your battle system. By default you can only add one element through this dropdown so I'm leaving it Physical but I may add "Piercing" as an element to a bow through adding a Trait.
On their own, elements do nothing. As explored in the discussion of Traits you can add weaknesses and resistances to elements in the traits section of an actor (or enemy).
Now how do you determine damage?
Tumblr media
However you want. Here I'm just copying the damage formula of the example "Attack" that comes with RMXP, but the formulas you can enter are limited only by how well you know how to make them.
So let's break that down a bit.
Tumblr media
"a" refers to the user of the skill. "a.atk" means a's attack power. "b" is the target so "b.def" is the target's defense. Therefore the formula a.atk * 4 - b.def * 2 means that the damage will equal four times the user's attack stat minus twice the target's defense stat.
You can even include variables in damage formulas, as discussed in this guide on the RPG Maker blog, if you want to get fancy with it.
Remember just because it's called a "damage" formula doesn't mean it always does damage. If you change Damage Type to HP Recover whatever you enter here will determine how much a skill heals the target instead.
Tumblr media
Variance, listed below the damage formula, refers to the range the attack can hit for. If after all all is said and calculated the damage for an attack is 100, then a variance of 20% means that the attack can hit for between 80 and 120 damage. I've decided to adjust the variance to 15% for this attack. You can also decide whether the attack has a chance of becoming a critical hit or not.
Effects
Tumblr media
Effects are much like Traits. You can add one or more through a menu in much the same way. Like Traits, the terms associated with Effects can be found in the same handy reference.
In this case I'm adding a State and I want that State to be Poison. I also want it applied at a 30% chance so it inflicts the poison state about 3 out of 10 times.
Invocation
Tumblr media
Invocation refers to how the skill (or, again, item) behaves when it's used. Speed can be changed to make the action more likely to happen earlier or later in the turn order.
Tumblr media
For example, one of the sample skills Falcon Thrust is designed to "attack an enemy faster than anyone else" and has it's Invocation set to 2000. A high, positive number like that is added to the speed calculations when deciding who moves when during a turn. Likewise a negative number will make the move take longer to invoke so it happens later in combat.
Success is a sort of individualized accuracy stat for the move (or item) itself. If you want to make something powerful that doesn't always hit, like Thunder in Pokemon, you can lower the success rate.
Repeat tells the game how many times the move hits. While it's called "repeat" here a "1" means the move hits once, as opposed to repeating once for two hits. This can be a little unintuitive because "Attack Times +" under Traits uses 1 to mean 1 additional attack.
Tumblr media
(I do plan on taking a look at the Attack tab in the Traits menu on it's own sometime in the future - you can use it to individualize the way the basic "attack" command works!)
TP Gain refers to how much TP is added to the user's TP bar when they use the Skill (or item).
Hit Type (Physical Attack, Magic Attack, or Certain Hit) actually refers to which accuracy/evasion traits will be referenced when using the skill - it's not an elemental thing.
You can also pick out an animation that plays when the skill is used!
Message and Required Weapon
Tumblr media
Finally, message and required weapon sections exist in the Skills tab but not the item one. The Message is simply a message that appears when the Skill is used. "%1" refers to the actor using the skill and "%2" is the Skill's name.
You can also choose to make a Skill only usable if a certain type of weapon is equipped to the user. If you leave these empty the move can be used regardless of equipment.
All I need to do now is learn it and see how it plays!
Tumblr media
Perhaps the easiest way to add a skill is to add it to a Class's level-up set. In the Classes tab you can go to the learnable skills section and chose the skill you want as well as a level at which to learn it.
There are other ways to learn Skills as well but this post is already getting a bit long so I'll save that for another time. For now, though, I think that provides enough background into Skills and Parameters to resume exploring the battle system next time.

Loki Season 2 Episode 1 DEEP DIVE and REACTION
Tumblr media
Thank you, Makers of Mischief, we are back with our first recap of our favorite “I'm not a Liar” show Loki Season 2 Episode 1.  I will do my best to guide you in this Marvelous show as we’re actually picking up where Season 2 ended so let's dive in! This episode is titled “Ouroboros” which is a very which is a very fitting title as the episode takes time to introduce us to Ke Huy Quan's character Ouroboros, or OB for short, but it also hints at things to come when you understand the origin of the word. "Ouroboros" is a captivating concept often depicted as a symbol or image of a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. This ancient symbol has roots in various mythologies and cultures, including ancient Egyptian, Norse, and Greek traditions. It represents the cyclical nature of life, death, and rebirth, as well as the infinite and eternal cycle of existence. The Ouroboros is a powerful metaphor for self-renewal, transformation, and the idea that endings are inherently linked to new beginnings. It has been used in art, literature, and philosophy to explore themes of time, eternity, and the never-ending cycle of change. In the context of "Loki" Season 2, the title "Ouroboros" hints at intriguing possibilities. Given the time-traveling and multiverse aspects introduced in the first season, it's conceivable that the show will continue to explore the cyclical nature of time and the consequences of alternate realities. The Ouroboros symbolize the interconnectedness of past, present, and future, which aligns with the show's themes of time manipulation and branching timelines. It could signify the ever-repeating patterns and challenges that Loki, as a character, faces, and how he must navigate these cycles of change and self-discovery. "Ouroboros" may also imply that the show is diving deeper into the fundamental nature of the Marvel Cinematic Universe itself, examining the cyclical and infinite storytelling possibilities that come with a multiverse concept. Fans can anticipate a season filled with mind-bending twists, where the past and future are inexorably linked in the serpent's eternal embrace. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7OMcr9EfJ0 "Loki” Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose. In Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” The starting point is the moment in “Avengers: Endgame” when the 2012 Loki takes the Tesseract. From there Loki lands in the hands of the Time Variance Authority (TVA), which is outside of the timeline, concurrent to the current day Marvel Cinematic Universe. In his cross-timeline journey, Loki finds himself a fish out of water as he tries to navigate—and manipulate—his way through the bureaucratic nightmare that is the Time Variance Authority and its by-the-numbers mentality. The Good: Continuity and Pacing: The episode seamlessly picks up where Season 1 left off, reminding viewers of the critical events with a concise recap. The pacing is brisk, keeping the audience engaged from the very beginning. Character Development: The interactions between Loki, Mobius, and B-15 provide insight into their characters. Loki's shock at being unrecognized and Mobius' dedication to his mission add depth to their personalities. Time Travel Mechanics: The episode introduces intriguing time travel mechanics within the TVA, adding complexity to the narrative. The concept of "time-slipping" and its impact on the timeline are well-executed and make for engaging storytelling. World-Building: We learn more about the TVA's inner workings and the consequences of Sylvie's actions, enhancing the world-building of the series. The inclusion of Broxton, Oklahoma, adds a fascinating nod to the comics. The Bad: Character Absences: While the episode delivers on many fronts, it leaves viewers eager for the appearance of Jonathan Majors' character, particularly after the tease in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." Miss Minutes' Role: Miss Minutes' involvement with He Who Remains at the end of time raises questions, but her exact role and motivations remain unclear, leaving the audience wanting more clarity. Lack of Explanations: Some aspects, such as the specifics of He Who Remains' control over the TVA and the reason behind Mobius and OB's extended lifespans, could use further exploration and explanation. In summary, "Loki" Season 2, Episode 1, sets the stage for an exciting narrative with strong character dynamics and intriguing time travel mechanics. However, viewers are left with questions and eager for the development of certain plot points. The episode successfully builds anticipation for what lies ahead in the season. Read the full article

the mirror world. (Loser's bracket)
When a sibling loses in the Tournament, they get one more chance...
they are sent to the Mirror World.
In the Mirror World, they will face off against every other contestant that has lost, up to and including the semifinals. How the bracket works:
Round 1 losers will retain their place in the bracket. They will face off against the loser in the adjacent bracket, as if they had both won the first round and moved on to the second.
The winner of this round will face off against a loser from Round 2, from the opposite side of the bracket. (So for example, when Yukio gets obliterated by Luigi in round 2, he will face off against either Ame or Malo, whoever wins that)
The winner of that matchup will then face off against the winner from the adjacent bracket like normal.
And then the winner of that will face off against a round 3 loser, from the opposite side.
And so on...
This totals to nine rounds of the mirror world instead of six in the normal poll. Mirror World rounds will each be a day long, as opposed to the normal rounds being a week. (so this doesn't take like half a year...)
Once a contestant is eliminated in the Mirror World, they are eliminated for good; no more chances. The winner of this bracket, of course, gets to revive to the finals of the normal round, making the finals between three characters. So it's pretty important!
Without further ado, let's look at the bracket.
Tumblr media
[Image description: A tournament bracket with an unusual bracket format. In between brackets that advance the tournament, there is a bracket that branches off to what is currently nothing, indicating an intermediate round with contestants as-yet undecided. Only round 1 characters are indicated; the matchups are numbered, and listed below. end ID]

Thoughts on Loki Episode 2. In no particular order. Major spoilers ahead.
-Apparently some people and other language dubs are saying that Lady Loki is really Sylvie Lushton. Guess we’ll find out. Pretty disturbing if Loki can’t tell. Why would Sylvie want to destroy the TVA? Is she working for/with another Loki who doesn’t want to get his hands dirty? And how did she manage to fool everyone into thinking she’s a Loki? She also said it’s not about him at all-so if it is Sylvie-maybe he recognized her when she revealed herself?
-Loki brawl? Maybe?
-Why are Loki’s magic powers still getting nerfed-possibly by himself? Why was he so easily thrown around by an enchanted human?! Why didn’t he use magic to fight back? This is the guy that held his own with Captain America! Someone I talked to said that the enchantress/variant could’ve made the human stronger through magic. I guess so but that’s kind of a weak answer and I’m getting really tired of seeing him getting beat up all the time. Stop nerfing him!!!
-Pompeii! Loki speaking Latin! “Be free my horned friends (horned individuals stick together)!” 😁 That’s one of the things I love about him-that fun chaos quality. You can tell Tom’s having a ball.
-The whole apocalypse lapse in the TVA’s security is a major thing they easily missed. It didn’t take much for Loki to find it.
-The trick of enchanting/possessing people-how come our Loki has never done that before?? Cause the space lizards didn’t want him too? Or because she’s not really Lady Loki?
-How come no one but Renslayer has seen the time keepers? Are they real? Who is her other agent? Gugu Mbatha-Raw said there’s a major betrayal coming from Judge Renslayer.
-Damn-the possible Lady Loki variant really hates other Lokis. Though she did leave the time door open for him so I’m guessing she wanted him to follow. My guess is that they’re going to the ruins of Asgard. And she just created a shit load of new timelines.
-Loki is experiencing true free will for the first time in his life. If he seems a bit OOC sometimes, that’s a pretty good reason why.
-Quite ironic how they keep holding Loki responsible for everything but Renslayer literally says that he’s been “made evil” because the time keepers willed it so and he can’t change within the timeline unless they want him to. His decisions were made because some sadistic lizards decided to use him as a plot device to create so called heroes.
-Do you understand this peeps? He has NO free will in the original timeline. No one does. Outside the TVA people don’t have free will. It kind of makes the MCU universe seem pretty bland. There doesn’t really seem to be much of a point to decisions people make if it’s all preplanned.
-It’s extremely hypocritical how they keep holding him responsible for decisions he had no free will in making.
-Seems that that’s not the natural state of the universe- because otherwise we wouldn’t get so many variants. The time keepers are trying to force a false constant order on the universe and the universe is constantly fighting back because its natural state is chaos.
-What makes a variant able to somehow develop free will and slide off the predestined timeline?
-Does the original timeline keep running-the branch that Loki created was pruned, so does that mean that there’s another Loki there right now that is experiencing the original timeline? It’s confusing. Also, if the branch was pruned, where did Steve return the scepter to?
-Honestly, the first truly free decision that this Loki ever made was picking up the Tesseract. You can only really hold him responsible for everything he’s done since then.
-Seems Renslayer and Mobius have more freedom and agency than we thought. I think the higher up in the TVA you go, the more free will you have.
-The conversations between Loki and Mobius are fascinating and Tom and Owen do a great job of playing off of each other. Someone get Mobius a jet ski!
-So the time keepers are literally planning the end. Endless order. No wonder several Loki variants keep getting in there and messing it up. Endless order is boring.
-THE TVA IS NOT GOOD. At best, it is amorally neutral. At worst, it’s evil (though there are innocent people in it). How anyone can miss that when it’s so obvious is beyond me. See the kind of fascist dystopian posters they have (below) and the director of the show pretty much admitted they were based on a dystopian bureaucracy. Several people who have survived Soviet communism have mentioned that it reminds them of that time. Makes me think of a facist dystopia too. Basically strict authoritarianism-big brother is always watching. 1984 vibes
-Loki is not the villain. The Time Keepers are.
-So Earth really did itself in with the natural disasters and climate change. Wish I could say I’m surprised.
-Holding Out For A Hero was playing for possible Lady Loki beating up time cops and I am here for it. The implication is that she’s the hero-down with the TVA-burn it down Lokis!
-I’m still angry that any timeline where Loki and his family might’ve had a better life was pruned. Anywhere where people didn’t die for those stupid infinity stones was pruned. Anywhere where the snap didn’t happen was pruned.
-Loki calling the TVA out on literally vaporizing universes and people is great. They’re sick.
-The only cosmic mistake murderer people I see are the TVA. They are in no place to lecture anyone on anything.
-Casey! Poor Casey! Stop tormenting him Loki! You’re giving him anxiety. Though you were trying to be nice. 😁I think workers like Casey have some free will but they’re purposely kept ignorant just so they can do what they’re told to do. I want them to be spared.
-Some workers there really do seem to be pre-programmed-like the librarian who doesn’t respond unless you ring the bell! Which is really creepy.
-I hope the Lokis (or Loki and Sylvie?) team up. It’s kinda weird seeing other actors possibly playing Loki.
-Asking her to be your lieutenant Loki? Do you not know yourself at all? She’s either going to want to be equal with you or be in charge!!!
-Loki fooling with Miss Minutes 😁
-The Time Cops really do come off as sadistic assholes. I’m still trying to figure out how much agency they have and how responsible they are for their own actions. I don’t like the character B15 but I like Wunmi Mosaku very much. She did one hell of a good job playing a Loki variant. She got the cocky grin down well.
-I want to see more variants! Especially ones who look like Tom!
-Yeah Mobius Loki is really going to go back with you and the Time Cops running after him with melt sticks after you basically threatened him and told him if this mission doesn’t work out he’s in big trouble.
-Speaking of which-for a while now some Mobius stans have been anoning and harassing people who write about not liking the character on their own blogs. To me he’s a frenemy, although as of this episode he’s trending more toward enemy; though I do think that will change later. Some of y’all act like he’s this big angel who loves and cares for Loki but he literally admitted he’s using him and even said that he’d delete him if things didn’t go right. He’s fascinated by him and he wants him to catch the other Variant. Now it is possible he was just saying all that to get on Renslayer‘s good side but still-until we know more, we can’t really trust him; he’s not some therapist, or guardian angel, or canonical love interest (the head writer said their friendship is going to be like that between the two main characters in the movie “Catch Me If You Can”. Though obviously, feel free to ship). And really-an ice runt? Nice. I think both of his claimed “reasons“ for wanting Loki around are true but the sentimental one isn’t enough if the useful one doesn’t work out.
-Mobius believes in order and the sanctity of the TVA. I like Owen Wilson so I’m still hoping his character will turn against them but it’s going to be a majorly difficult turn. Do I want him to turn out to be a friend? Yeah. Do I think on some level he wants sympathizes with something broken in Loki? Yes. But that is a secondary motive that he will not put above the motive of his loyalty to the TVA. His loyalty is to the time keepers who made Loki who he is. No matter how fascinated he is with this Loki variant, if this Loki doesn’t do what the TVA wants Mobius will follow the TVA rules. His primary motive, at least for now, is using Loki. And now Loki has made him look bad. If you really like him, good for you. But stop telling those who don’t or those of us in the middle that we have to feel the same way. And that goes the other way too.
-Loki’s face when he saw that Asgard got destroyed. 🙁
-Is Lady Loki somehow the original Loki from the prime universe? Her basically implying to our Loki that really he’s an offshoot of her makes me wonder. Or could Loki prime’s soul somehow be in Sylvie’s body?
-She doesn’t want to rule the TVA-I think she wants to destroy it so that she can have free will and change her and everyone else’s fate. Also she’s resurrecting the multiverse-because I think that is the original natural state of the universe. I’m all for it.
-We saw at least 5 variations of Loki variants (Loki’s face seeing them was priceless). Seems Loki has a knack for stepping off the timeline. One of them was openly Jotun and another was a Hulk Loki! That’s the second time I’ve seen a Hulk Loki mentioned (AOA Loki mentioned him in the comics too). Can somebody please tell me where in the comics he came from?? I’ve looked but I can’t find any reference to a Hulk Loki in the past comics?
-I’d like to see a fight with Hulk Loki, Banner Loki, and B15.
-Loki is supposed to be a good tactician and I get that there’s supposed to be some humor; but why is it always being made to seem that he’s stupid and his schemes are obvious? Unless he’s doing that on purpose? I know he was just stalling at the Renaissance fair.
-Loki said he wouldn't treat himself like that. Physically, I think he’s right. Loki’s first impulse is usually to talk-not hit.
But that’s the thing Loki- you do treat yourself that way-figuratively. You act like you think you’re superior even to a possible other version of yourself; and you have no idea how to even talk to yourself. Of course he’s also experiencing free will for the first time in his life so things are complicated. But it’s pretty obvious that as much as they try to cover it up with arrogance, there’s a mutual loathing.
I have a hard time understanding how anyone who really thinks critically can think that the TVA is “good” after seeing these:
