CC Beach Trip (Contains some spoilers for HOFAS)

Hunt: Driving there and back because he doesn't trust anyone else not to crash and kill them all. If Isaiah is coming along he's probably been squished into the back with Ithan despite Hunt trying to get him a better seat.

Bryce: Passenger princess extraordinaire. Neck pillow, feet up on the dash (totally ignoring Hunt who has repeatedly told her to sit properly), hoarding the aux cord because her friends need to be educated about good music.

Tharion: Gave Sathia his headphones once Bryce got ahold of the aux cord. He is using the cooler as a car seat because they were one short and it seemed fun. Once they arrive he spends most of his time chilling on the beach. Until Sathia asks if they can go swimming and then he gets into the water with her, ending with her just attaching herself to his back while he swims around. (He's got a tail in the water so it's cool and fast af)

Sathia: Taking pictures of just about everything. Spent 3 hours the night before making sure her hair dye wouldn't get wrecked by the saltwater and another 2 debating which swimsuit was best. She has a timer set to remind people to refresh their sunscreen and the only one that doesn't listen (Ithan) gets no sympathy when they wake up with wicked sunburns the next day.

Ithan: Fully passed out in the backseat. but once they arrive he's the one who ends up carrying everyone's stuff around. He didn't bring much with him but by the time everyone's ready to leave he's got five bags and several hats and loose sunscreen bottles and wallets. Sathia keeps telling him to put on more sunscreen but he insists he's fine because his sunscreen is really strong and the bottle says it lasts for hours.

Ruhn: Got a different car so he and Lidia could drive with the boys. He has a trunk full of beach game equipment that no one ends up actually using because the boy just want to hang out and swim, and Lidia doesn't know the rules to most of them. (She's willing to learn but most of them require more than 2 players anyway) He spends most of his time keeping Lidia calm and keeping an eye on Ace and Brann.

Lidia: She is trying so hard to not panic any time she loses sight of someone or if someone looks like they're not having a good time. This woman is not built for relaxing but she's trying so damn hard. She wants this to go well so bad, she is willing to sit through every single game rulebook if it means improving the mood. She By the end of the day she's so stressed out and exhausted that she knocks out in the passenger seat of the car and the next morning she is not so subtly probing Ace, Brann, and Ruhn about if they liked the trip or not.

These are the most recent Bonus chapters she’s written. Azriel’s for ACOSF and Brythalar’s for HOSAB which came immediately after ACOSF….

It was very much a deliberate decision writing these two bonus chapters and choosing to end both with similar wordings and feelings.

I think you are referring to @redbleedingrose's migraine headcanons? I am very happy to provide those headcanons for the CC men. If you haven't read the ones from Rose for the bat boys yet, you definitely have to check them out, they were so beautifully written!!!❤️❤️ here we go:

Ruhn

Ruhn will notice very quickly that something is bothering you, that something is hurting you

his alarm bells will go off, because there is hardly anything worse than seeing you hurt

he will make sure the room is completely dark and no light is disturbing you

Ruhn will be quick to rush into the city and get some medicine for you (he obviously has told you to stay in bed as long as he is gone)

once he returns and gives you the medicine, he runs a bath for you,

once the tub is filled with warm water, he picks you up from the bed, carrying you to the bathroom, helping you undress and heaves you into the water

he joins you in the bath, sitting behind you, you sitting between his legs

the starborn prince has wonderful hands, soft palms and slender fingers, and he makes use of them

he will massage your shoulders, trying to ease some of the tension that has built up during the day

of course he has also provided a tea and a glass of water for you beforehand -> you need to stay hydrated of course

and Ruhn will also make sure you drink, "that was only a tiny sip. come on, one more."

once the water cools, Ruhn will help you out of the tub

your migraine has gotten a bit better, but is not yet fully gone

Ruhn helps you dry off, picking out your softest pyjamas and helps you get dressed

once you are done, he will obviously carry you back to bed as you feel dizzy and then cuddle up in bed with you

you rest your head on his chest while Ruhn hums lightly and whispers sweet nothings (very low and calm in order to not trigger anything or hurt you by talking too loudly)

he can only relax once you drift off and fall asleep on his chest

Hunt

oh Hunt, he knows what migraines feel like, having suffered from them all his life

he will definitely immediately darken the room and get some tea for you, "I will be right back, my love."

when he returns with the tea, he will fluff up the pillows so you can sit up in bed and drink your tea

as the pain is so much, tears will leave your eyes which Hunt is quick to catch

once done with the tea, Ruhn spreads his wings and sits back on the bed

he lets you rest your head in his lap, his hand placed on your shoulder and his wing folded over you

he will obviously also tuck you under the bedsheet, providing more warmth and comfort for you

his fingers softly brush through your hair, up and down your neck, over your shoulders, while you two stay in complete silence

only later when the migraine starts to vanish a little will he read to you -> your favourite book, in a low and calm voice until your lids once again feel heavy and you start to fall asleep

Ithan

Ithan will notice immediately that something is off, that your are dealing with a migraine -> it's his wolf instincts

and speaking of wolf, Ithan would shift so he is in his wolf form

but not before providing you with some chicken soup, a herbal tea, a big glass of water and your fluffiest and more comfortable pyjamas

Ithan will snuggle into bed with you, letting you rest your head on his fluffy belly

he will purr softly while you tangle your hand in his fur and practically feel how the vibrations of his belly and the soft purrs ease your headache

his paw with softly stroke up and down your arm

other days when he does not shift, Ithan would pull you to his chest, letting you curl up to him under the sheets

the blinds are closed so no light comes in and hurts you even more

Ithan will be very careful with you, no noises, no quick movements, enough water to keep you hydrated

he will also text all his friends that they have to be calm when they get home in order to not disturb you

he will buy some medicine online, letting it deliver to your flat, so he does not have to leave you alone

but he will tell the delivery man that he has do send a message and should under no circumstance ring the doorbell

once he has helped you take the medicine, all Ithan will do is hold you in his arms, fingers brushing over your skin, until you manage to fall asleep

Tharion

I think Tharion would just take you to the water with him, holding you up while you are lying on your back, the cool water soothing the migraine and your sore and tense muscles

Hi! I feel like we don’t see a whole lot about Hunt and his wings! Could you please write something Hunt x reader that has to do with his wings? This isn’t even necessarily about smut either! I just noticed that we see a lot about the bat boys’ wings, but never really Hunt.

Hunt and his wings headcanon

A/n: so true anon! And he has a lot of trauma with his wings, poor boy. I went more fluff on this one

Warnings: mentions of trauma and injuries

A lot has happened with Hunt’s wings, especially in the first book

He gets them cut off thanks to Sabine and we know Sandriel abused him (in a similar way Amarantha did to Rhys in my opinion). I also think it was mentioned in HOSAB that Sandriel plucked his wings

Hunt has a big wingspan (I like to think just like Az)

He usually keeps them tucked in to avoid hitting others or objects

He’s very particular about the wings themselves and that area of his back

He doesn’t like when people walk behind him or touch his back/get too close from behind

It takes a lot for him to trust someone after everything with Shahar and the war

When you started dating he was open about his boundaries with his wings and you respected that, you’d never do something to make him uncomfortable bc you’d never want that for yourself

One night when you were making dinner together in the kitchen you noticed a couple of feathers ruffled on the back of his wing

You reached your hand out to move them back in place without thinking

As soon as your finger graze the dark soft feathers Hunt jumped, turning to look at you his face showed hurt and confusion

You felt guilty for forgetting, “I’m sorry! Hunt I’m so sorry. You just…you have a feather bent I was just going to fix it.” His expression turns to slight shock. You were going to help his wings?

He slowly turned his back to you, unfurling his wing just enough to give you access

You reached out gently moving it back into place with the others

“All done.” You gave him a small smile. He moved his wing to look at it and smiled. “Thank you.” He said softly

Hunt didn’t say anything about it for a few days, he had to think through what happened with you

A few nights later you’re sitting on the couch, Hunt’s head in your lap, your fingers brushing through his hair

Hunt had wanted to ask you all night but he couldn’t get up the courage. ‘It was just like what you were doing now’ he thought to himself. Hunt cleared his throat and you looked down at his nervous face, “y/n?” “Yes love?” “Will you…touch my wings? Like how you’re doing with my hair?”

You were shocked that he asked but more than happy to do it if it brings him comfort

At first Hunt was tense as your tan your fingers across his wings. After a few gentle touches he seemed to relax

After about 15 minutes he was purring like a cat

It was sweet. You were happy he trusted you to touch his wings

From then on he was comfortable with you touching his back and wings

You love being able to help him be comfortable with his wings

As more time passed you noticed his wings relax during daily occurrences

Hunt was more relaxed around people

And when lounging around you’d never seen them so low to the floor, like he wasn’t afraid anymore

Two thoughts I’ve had since finishing HOFAS

Will sjm go on tour for HOFAS? I think it’s weird that we didn’t get a tour edition but also considering how bad the marketing around the book was, I think they might have just given up/whoever was doing the marketing on her previous books left. I know at one stage she was supposed to be in London with Fane (I even saw the listing on their website and had plans to buy tickets even tho I live in Australia) but that got cancelled and has been confirmed with Bloomsbury that it’s not happening.

I just think it’s so odd that we’re not even getting a virtual tour or anything?? Like we even got a livestream for the Barnes and Noble release of HOSAB but not for one of the most anticipated books of the year?? It’s all very disappointing but it gives me a sliver of hope that she might actually go on tour. At this stage tho, I think there’s about a 20% chance she actually will.

This is just a side note but why didn’t we get any preorder incentive?? Because they already had so many preorders?? They would’ve known how many posters they had to make. Honestly it just kinda feels like greed to me but idk

My other thought is a very scary one: we won’t be getting a new sjm book until 2026. Obviously I have no confirmation on this and am just speculating. But I know Bloomsbury has said that no special editions of HOFAS can be made until 2025 and the only reason I can think for them doing that is that there won’t be any new book released next year. If you think about it, we didn’t get any new book last year but we got a bunch of special editions from different companies e.g. Fairyloot, Illumicrate to keep us ‘entertained’ for lack of a better word until the new release. I think the same thing will happen next year, too.

That thought is definitely not a pleasant one and it’s honestly spiking my anxiety like crazy. 😬😬 Also if you’re going to reference that article that said Sarah would be having 7 new books this year maybe just go back and have a little reread. She was contracted for 7 new books on top of what she was already contracted for, not 7 for this year. The article also called Samantha Shannon a ‘new author’ soooooo
