Afterparty - Eddie Munson
Tumblr media
“Are you good?”
“I’m celebrating our victory in combat,” you chided.
“Uh-huh. Ya know you keep puckering and unpuckering your lips, right?”
You turned your head against the rough couch cushion, your hair frizzing up with the friction, to look at Eddie. His dark eyes were laser-focused on you, flicking up and down your lazy-limbed recline on his mottled-brown sofa. It felt as though he were drinking you in or attempting to melt you down into a puddle of goo with the searing softness of his gaze. Then, he could consume you like one of his dungeon monsters.
“Why are you looking at my lips?”
“You’re drunk, sweetheart,” Eddie said after a beat, his eyes falling away from you as he stood from his chair, nasty beer in hand: his post-successful Hellfire Club meeting treat. It was rare that you partook, but finally beheading the Greater Basilisk you and the boys encountered the last session demanded something for your fried nerves. Your own bottle stood emptied on the floor near the couch.
“Am not. Just tipsy is all,” you replied, sitting up on your elbows to try to get a better look at Eddie as he drew closer. The uncharacteristic seriousness you found on his face soon faded as he bent down to collect your finished drink. Curls spilled in front of his face as he moved, nearly obscuring his eyes. When you smiled at the sight, Eddie smiled right back.
“Sure ya are.” His words came out in a low breath and were laced with a rumble from the back of his throat. “C’mon, let's get you home.”
You huffed, mostly to diffuse the fluster that fell upon you, as Eddie turned his back to you and stepped into the trailer’s kitchenette. Glass clattered against the laminate countertop as he set the bottles down to rummage about. Drawers opened and closed, followed by a mumbled curse.
“You never answered my question,” you pressed, watching Eddie’s head of brown hair flit about. It was his signature ‘where did I put the van keys?’ dance. His hands drummed against his thighs, giving you a denim-dulled beat to listen to as you teased him from the couch.
“Yeah, well, it was a dumb thing to- Jesus Christ! Where did I put…?”
“What are you looking for? Another excuse?”
“Very funny, L/N. Your talents are being wasted as a Fighter in the campaign, ‘cause clearly you’re a Bard with all your,” Eddie let out a sudden, borderline euphoric sigh and you saw his hands shoot up into the air. “Found ‘em!”
You stayed propped up on your elbows as the Dungeon Master started towards you once more, this time with keys in hand. His layered jackets fanned out with his quick movements, which made it look as if he were wearing a miniature cape. A short but sweet laugh slipped from your mouth at the sight. For Eddie, that was a battle cry.
“Laughin’ at me in my domain? Not very nice. May have to banish you and your drunken ass,” he announced, crouching down beside the couch. His face was mere inches from yours.
Somehow you managed to hold your ground and not lean further in. Though every fiber in your body screamed to get even closer. “I. Am. Not. Drunk. That beer was shit.”
“Really?” He crossed his pointer finger along your vision, trying to distract you. Your eyes remained trained on his. “‘Cause I think your sight might be impaired.”
“Really,” you echoed, looking up at him. Eddie smiled then, wider than before, and a warmth like alcohol rolled down your chest to your stomach. Spurred on by not-so-subtle, inebriated instinct, you felt yourself pucker and unpucker your lips.
“You did it again,” Eddie said through a laugh, “what the Hell is that?” The crinkles by his eyes became more prominent as his smile deepened, allowing the melodious sound of his joy to fall easily from his parted lips. Dark eyes flicked across your face, up and down. From your eyes to your lips and back again. Drinking you in.
“Maybe I want a kiss, Munson.”
The words, in all their sobering glory, hung in the air between the two of you. Eddie’s eyes were wide, the widest you had ever seen them. Not even a rogue move or devastatingly tide-turning dice roll during a Hellfire meeting could conjure the shock you saw before you at that moment. As the quiet stretched on, you worried that, for the first time in his life, Eddie was stunned into eternal silence. Nervously, you shifted on the sofa to you were sitting up, right in front of the man  in shock.
Eddie’s eyes were boring into yours, as if trying to see past them, read into them. Another collection of moments passed and his jaw clenched and unclenched, pulling taut the skin of his cheeks. Desperate to hear him, to get some sort of active reaction, you spoke first. “Eddie, I’m sorr-”
“You…you’re sure you’re not drunk?”
“Yes,” you said warily, “I’m sure. I-”
Before you could finish, Eddie rushed up from his crouched position and smashed his lips to yours. His hands found perches on the couch cushions on either side of your thighs. Your hands got easily lost in Eddie’s curls, pulling gently on the strands as the kiss softened. His fingers crawled up to your hips, pulling you to the edge of the couch by your belt loops. A gasp broke the two of you apart when your inner thighs were pressed against Eddie’s chest.
Chest heaving, you stared at each other: wide eyes and swollen lips. Eddie was on his knees, between your legs, a wonderfully boyish and stupefied smile on his face. You felt a similar grin spread along your own lips as you found your voice.
“Still want to banish me?”
Eddie let out a single, sarcastic chuckle before he wordlessly tossed the van keys behind him. Neither of you saw where they landed as you both found yourselves on the couch, Eddie on top of you, pressing searing kisses anywhere and everywhere. Neither of you cared anyway. Finding the keys again was a problem for the morning yous. Tonight, there was an afterparty.

Reverence | Part 7
Thomas Hewitt X You
Masterlist with links to other parts
You sat out in front of the store. It was hot today with a lot of sun and you were thankful for the lemonade Luda Mae had made. You sipped it from a old mason jar and pressed the cool glass to your neck.
Hoyt had insisted on you coming out to the store to help Luda Mae during the weekend. Whether it was because she needed help or because Hoyt wanted you away from Tommy you weren’t sure. The last few days had whirled by so quickly. It was a lot of scrubbing dishes and minding an empty store. Even at night there seemed to be some mending to do. Every time a task was done there was yet another one to do as if they were trying to keep you busy. Even at night Hoyt sent Tommy out on errands to check the perimeter fence so you couldn’t steal into the basement and spend the night with him.
One morning, as you came downstairs for breakfast, you overheard Hoyt and Luda Mae talking.
“He’s sweet on her,” Luda Mae whispered.
“She’s an outsider, we don’t know a damn thing about her,” Hoyt said.
You had been replaying the conversation in your head over and over the last few days and still wasn’t sure where you stood with them. Thomas, obviously, enjoyed your company. Uncle Monty couldn’t give a shit about you. Luda Mae kept an eye on you but seemed to write you off as harmless. Hoyt still having suspicions about you at this point felt ridiculous, even if ultimately he was right.
They shouldn’t trust you because you didn’t plan on staying in the middle of nowhere forever.
You took another gulp of lemonade, leaning back in the lawn chair and glaring down at the empty road through the tent of sunglasses. The air hung hot and heavy with no breeze to speak of. Your dress was glued to your body with sweat and all you wanted was to go back to house and take a shower but you needed to prove something.
You hadn’t escaped last week with a clearly injured young man, but that only proved you weren’t stupid. However, if a car came by full of gas would you jump in and leave them?
Hoyt seemed to think so.
His squad car pulled in beside the store. After a moment the engine shut off and he appeared, walking around the building.
“Afternoon, sheriff,” you said, nodding to him.
“Yeah, yeah,” he said, walking past you into the store.
You took another healthy sip of lemonade. He was just jealous you were kissing on Tommy and not him.
You could hear Hoyt and Luda Mae’s voices carrying from inside the store but couldn’t make any words out. You closed your eyes, stretching out under the sun. After a while you heard an engine rumble down the road and looked to see what it could be. As it came closer you could tell it was a larger vehicle, a van or a pickup perhaps. Drawn by the sound of the car, Hoyt came and leaned against the doorframe to the store.
As the car approached it flicked its blinker on signaling it would pull over.
“How stocked up are we?” you asked, your eyes on the car kicking dirt up the road.
“We’d be better off if you weren’t around,” Hoyt said. You rolled your eyes behind your sunglasses. “We could always use more. You never know when a shipment will roll through.”
“Noted,” you said as the car pulled in front of the store. The engine kicked off and two men stepped out. College aged by your estimation. You looked into the back seat and didn’t see anyone else. Two men didn’t seem like that big of a threat in the grand scheme of things.
“Hey, do y’all have a phone?” one of the boys asked, his twang overpowering.
“Not here,” you said, cutting in before Hoyt could speak. “But we got one back at the house. If you buy me some gum I could show you.”
Hoyt stayed quiet, watching you closely. You smiled at the boys and they wore their own grins. The one who had spoken was very clearly raking his eyes up and down your form.
“You got yourself a deal,” he said and stepped inside with his buddy presumably to buy bubblegum.
You looked up at Hoyt, your smile as bright as the afternoon sun.
“It’s not the catching it’s the keepin’ that’s hard,” Hoyt grunted.
“You know Sheriff it’s alright to like me,” you said playfully. “You might as well, I plan on sticking around for a long while.”
“Until Tommy gets bored of ya?” he said sharply. Your smile fell. The idea of Thomas getting bored of you hadn’t even crossed your mind. Angry at you, maybe, but bored? Was that something that happened? Had Tommy picked a girl to keep before and grew tired of her and threw her in the freezer with everyone else? It was enough to make you feel cold despite the relentless heat. Hoyt threw his head back, his whole belly shaking with a deep laugh. He was still laughing when the two boys stepped out of the store.
They tossed the packet of gum to you and you managed to catch it as it arced through the air.
“Thanks,” you said, your bubbly mood undercut by Hoyt’s nastiness. “This way.”
You started around the store to head through the tall grass back to the house with the boys in tow and heard Hoyt calling after you.
“You kids stay safe now!”
You yanked a stick of gum from the package and shoved it in your mouth, chewing out your frustrations on the sticky pink goo.
“Do you live close by?” a boy asked behind you. The gum boy again.
“Yeah, real close,” you said. You hadn’t timed the walk but it wasn’t going to kill them, that’s what all the chainsaws and knives were for. “Y’all from Austin?”
“Dave’s from Austin,” the bubblegum boy said, smacking his friend on the back. Dave had short cropped blonde hair and a stiffness about him. On closer inspection he seemed older than his friend and a lot less friendly. “I’m from Houston though. I’m Jake by the way.”
“Well, Dave from Austin and Jake from Houston, I hope you like our little stretch of highway while you’re here,” you said. “I hear it’s the nicest piece of nothing for the next forty miles.”
Jake laughed and suddenly he was beside you, shortening his steps to match your stride leaving his poor dear friend Dave behind.
“You’re pretty funny,” Jake said. You blew a bubble with your gum, filling it with air until it popped and wrapped it back in your mouth.
“Are you funny, Jake?” you asked.
“I’m plenty funny, right Dave?” he asked over his shoulder. Dave didn’t have a reply and Jake didn’t wait for one. “You live out here with your family?”
You looked up and saw the house coming into view. It was only a matter of time now.
“Actually the Hewitts were kind enough to take me in,” you said.
“What are you a troubled youth?” Jake asked, laughing as if that was a joke. His claim that he was “plenty funny” was looking weak at the moment.
“Oh very troubled,” you said, stepping into the shadow of the Hewitt home. “Drugs, alcohol, sex you name it I did it.”
The lies came easy to your tongue, if it was because Jake seemed like an easy mark or because you knew they’d only have to feel real for a few more minutes you weren’t sure.
“Sex?” Jake asked as the three of you came up the stairs onto the porch. Of course that was the word that caught his attention. You yanked open the front door and propped it open with your foot, ushering them in. Jake stepped aside and let Dave enter first and then hovered by you as you stepped inside. You pulled off your sunglasses and gave Jake a wink. A goofy grin stretched across his mouth. He really thought he had a chance. What a fool.
“Where’s your phone?” Dave asked, clearly more focused on the task at hand than his friend.
“Oh it’s downstairs,” you said, crossing to the metal door to the basement. You knocked your knuckles against, three quick raps to signal to Tommy downstairs. “Some fumbling with the wiring, I know but it’s hard to get anything fixed way out here.”
Dave nodded, accepting the explanation. He helped you slide the door open and started down the stairs.
“Your friend can handle himself right?” you asked Jake.
“Yeah, he doesn’t need me,” Jake said, running a hand through his hair.
“Come sit with me, I’ll get you some sweet tea,” you said with a smile so sugary it could have rotted your teeth clean out of your mouth. You led him to the kitchen making sure he sat in a chair with its back to the door. You took your time tossing your gum away, pulling a fresh pitcher of tea from the fridge and pouring a glass.
“I think it’s real admirable that you’re conquering your addictions out here,” Jake said, folding his arms across the kitchen table. You smiled at him, stepping in close enough to graze his shoulder as you place the glass on the table.
“Oh, I’m not conquering anything out here,” you said, your eyes glued to his despite the motion you saw in the corner of your eye.
“Then what are you doing?” he laughed nervously. Thomas stepped into the room as silent as a mouse despite his size. You kept your eyes down at your victim but could see Tommy raise a sledgehammer over his head.
“Indulging.”
The metal head came down on the man’s skull like a spoon through the shell of an egg. You watched bone crack and splinter as brains started to spill out onto the floor. Jake twitched and convulsed in his chair, his boots dragging across the linoleum. He may be moving but he wasn’t coming back from a hit like that.
Your smile was untamable as you looked up at Tommy.
“I did it!” you yelled jumping up and down. You caught Tommy’s hand and dragged him into your celebration. He dropped his hammer to wrap his arms around your waist. “Did you see Tommy? I brought them right to you!”
Thomas hefted you up into the air bringing your lips to his. It’d been a full week since your shower together and you had missed his touch. After chores and only Luda Mae and Hoyt for company most of the day it felt so good to be in his arms again. You brought your hands to his face, brushing the hair out of his eyes.
“You did so good, Thomas,” you said, kissing him again. He twisted around and suddenly you were seated on the kitchen table with Tommy’s hips between your thighs. Goosebumps rose along your arms as a hand drifted from your waist to tangle into your hair.
A gunshot reverberated through the house. You jerked up, panic flooding your body. You jumped off the counter and followed Tommy out of the kitchen only to knock into him when he came to a quick stop.
At the front door Hoyt stood over Dave from Austin, smoke rising from the barrel of his gun and the hole he had put in the young man’s head. There was a trail of blood across the entrance way from where Dave had dragged himself from the basement trying to escape. You hadn’t heard a thing, but you weren’t thinking about him you had been thinking about Tommy.
“What did I tell you girl?” Hoyt snarled, shoving the corpse with the toe of his boot. When you didn’t respond he pointed at you with his pistol, his finger still on the trigger. “Come on what did I tell you?”
“I-It’s not the catching but the keeping that’s hard,” you repeated quietly. You hid slightly behind Tommy, sliding your hand into his for support. He squeezed your hand back.
“Does this look like you kept him?” Hoyt sneered, pointing the gun back down at the corpse. He fired again into the dead man’s head sending another loud bang through the house. “Well?”
“No, sir,” you said, your throat closing as a sob formed in your chest. You wanted to prove him wrong but you only succeeded into doing the complete opposite.
Hoyt crouched over the corpse and finished a keyring out of the man’s pockets.
“Tommy, get these boys downstairs,” Hoyt said before he grinned at you, his mouth curling into a terrible smirk. “Your little friend and I are going for a drive.”

December 25
4 pm :: you looked at me and i looked at you / like we’d never look away
The building is bustling with energy, carts and equipment being wheeled through long halls. You dodge another rack of clothing as you swipe your entry card, offering quick waves as familiar faces skid past you with cheerful but brisk greetings.
The music grows louder as you make your way to their practice room, though it cuts off just as you approach the door.
Seven puddles of goo greet you, limbs splaying over the wood flooring as pants fill the room. Their choreographer gives you a tired smile, nodding as he passes by. “They’re all yours.” The background dancers file out alongside him, and you bow at one another as they trail out. “Thank you for your hard work!”
They make no move even as their eyes open to peek up at you, chests still heaving. They watch your figure in the mirror as you pad across the room to scoop up an armload of water bottles.
“Hello baby.” Yoongi blinks up at you sleepily, a whisper of a thanks escaping his parched lips as you hand him the bottle. You step past him to a motionless Namjoon sitting by Jimin who’s slumped by the mirrors. The leader takes the drink gratefully and quickly moves to gulp down half its contents but Jimin is much fussier, making grabby hands at you.
“Feed me,” he murmurs. You giggle but acquiesce, unscrewing the bottle and taking a large swing. He opens his mouth eagerly, swallowing greedily. His tongue flicks yours timidly but without much vivacity given how much energy he’s just exerted.
Something tugs at your sweater and you look down to find Jungkook pouting up at you, having rolled over from where he was laying. You laugh, reaching down to card your fingers through his sweaty locks. You give him a kiss too, and he laps at your lips, catching stray droplets.
Somewhere, someone makes a whiny noise and you know it’s Taehyung with the way it deepens into a distinct grumble.
His eyes gleam triumphantly when Jungkook releases you reluctantly, still flat against the ground as he chugs the remaining amount down, muttering under his breath. “Spoil sport.”
You roll your eyes playfully, taking a seat in front of him as Taehyung wags his eyebrows at you. He takes your hand and puts it against his cheek, a trail of sweat tracking to your skin as he leans in to nuzzle your nose, giving you an Eskimo kiss. “Missed you,” he rasps. You press the uncapped bottle to his lips wordlessly. He drinks voraciously, though his amber irises burn into you, his intense gaze never wavering.
A shallow flush rises in your neck but you ignore it, scooting away to peer down at Hoseok, who grins weakly at you from where he’s collapsed in the centre. You pat down his hairline with a towel, pressing a simple kiss to his temple before handing him a bottle. Next to him, starfished, is Seokjin. He says nothing, just opens his mouth expectantly, to which you laugh and waterfall slowly, careful not to accidentally send him choking to the hospital right before the Christmas holidays.
“It’s Christmas?” Almost like he could read your mind, Jungkook speaks.
Before you can reply, however, Yoongi cuts in frankly, “Who cares? It’s just another work day.” Which promptly sends you frowning.
“Nuh uh. None of this,” you tut. You start walking around, picking up shirts they’ve sweat through and packing them into a duffle bag quickly.
“___, what are you doing?” Seokjin asks, confused. He sits up, reaching over to help you, but you shake him off firmly with a look. He falls back, still watching you. “Kookie, Tae, Jimin and I still have to go record our parts at Rabbit-hyung’s studio.”
“We have to go finish—” Namjoon begins but you hush him with a hand.
“Not this year. Go home kids. Take a break. You all earned it.” You smile, shifting to the side to reveal Bang Sihyuk. He grins at the boys, who all look shocked.
“No way! Does this mean we get to put up the tree tonight?” Jungkook says eagerly.
“Well, what are we waiting for? The rain? Let’s go home!” You call over your shoulder, already waiting for them at the door. “Oh, before I forget. Shower and get ready. We’re going out.”
They stop in their tracks, and you can already see Hoseok visibly wilting. “Do we have to? Can’t we just stay home and watch movies and cuddle?”
“I know you’re all tired but trust me on this. I have a surprise waiting for you, and I think you’re going to like it.”
The boys grumble a little more as they drag themselves to the van. Taehyung and Jimin latch onto you like koalas and you bumble along with the two of them hanging off either arm.
Jungkook falls asleep within the first few minutes into the drive, head resting against your shoulder. You lace your fingers through Yoongi’s who dozes off lightly. His thumb smoothes over your knuckles.
You turn from the window, catching Seokjin’s eye. Moonlight illuminates his face in fractals, giving him an almost ethereal appearance that enhances when he smiles.
He leans over to tuck a stray tendril behind your ear, fingers dipping to tip your chin up. He kisses you softly, cradling your face between his hands like you are made of the finest china.
“Jagiya,” he breathes. You inhale, eyelids fluttering. “Jin.”
You’re pulled away as the driver announces your arrival. “Soon,” you murmur as he helps you off. “Soon, I promise.”
.
.
.
“So,” you begin as you distribute plain white envelopes, each empty save for the scrawl of their name in your handwriting, “These contain the addresses to the restaurants you’ll all be going to. It’s important you go to the one with your name on it, so no switching.” You direct this at the Taehyung, who is already sheepishly retracting his hand at your words.
The boys are scattered around the living room, changed into comfortable attire and toweling off wet hair as they squint doubtfully at what you’ve just handed them. You resume reapplying new pain patches onto Jungkook, who lies on his stomach draped on the couch. He melts further into the material as you knead the tense knots in his shoulders.
“We’re going to different ones?” Namjoon asks, confused as he turns the thin cardstock over in his hands idly.
“Yep. Part one of your gift from us is at each of these places.”
“Us?”
“Everyone at BigHit pitched in. They were all very thoughtful planning for your break this year,” you say, smiling.
The youngest groans as he sits up, rubbing his neck before slipping on the fresh white shirt you offer him.
You gesture for Jimin to take his spot as Jungkook moves to take a seat next to you.
“It’s been a while, hasn’t it?” You say absentmindedly as you dab at a small wound dotting Jimin’s waist. “Since you’ve seen your families.”
Namjoon and Seokjin exchange glances. “Well, yes, but you know we’re perfectly happy spending Christmas here, with you,” he begins.
“Oh! Shit, you guys have to go. It’s time!” You help Jimin tug on his sweater as you herd the boys out the door. “Your cars are waiting for you outside. Go, go!”
“W-wait!” Hoseok says, bracing an arm at the door. He eyes you worriedly. “Aren’t you coming with us?”
You shake your head, lips pursed as you try not to smile. “No, this is a gift specifically for you guys. It wouldn’t be right to have anyone else there. But I’ll be here when you all return.”
Still, the dancer hesitates. You take his hand, squeezing reassuringly. Finally, he nods, but pulls you in for one last, lingering kiss before bounding away.
You watch them go, giggling as they wave exaggeratedly in their respective vehicles until they are well out of sight.

6 pm :: your nerves gather with the altitude / exhale the stress so you don’t come unglued
“Eomma, appa.” He stares at the familiar smiles beaming up at him from the round table. He can feel tears pooling at the edges of his lashes as he blinks rapidly at the scene. Arms wrap around him firmly, the warmth consuming him.
“Merry Christmas, son.”
.
.
.
“They’re waiting for them, aren’t they?” You nod.
“And you? What are you going to do?” Rhys looks at you.
“Me? I’m going home too. I think it’s about time, don’t you?”

December 28
2:16 pm :: i’m taking it slow / feeding my flame
“Jagi?” You make a muffled noise as you hear your door opening, a chilly gust of wintry breeze rifling through before it’s shut again, the telltale noise of boots being tossed and jackets crinkling as they’re being hung.
“___?” You straighten, still chewing as you turn. Seokjin coos at the adorable sight of your cheeks puffing out with the amount of food stuffed inside. You blush, swallowing with difficulty.
“Was that the pie?” Jimin asks as he hands you a glass of water. You nod sheepishly. “Yeah, I was just taste testing, but it was really good.”
“We brought the other dishes you asked for,” Hoseok peeks into the kitchen, Namjoon and Jungkook popping in right after and setting down the take out boxes.
“Shit, it smells really good,” Jungkook says, eyes widening as he inhales deeply. Yoongi snakes his arms around your torso, propping his chin up on your shoulder as he sniffs the air. “Mmm, it does smell delicious.”
“Here, try some of this,” you cut a small piece of the rib roast you just finished, holding it up for Taehyung who wandered over after unpacking the side dishes. He’s nodding vigorously even before he finishes. “It’s good!” He exclaims.
Seokjin jumps in too. “Hey! Let me have a taste too!”
You laugh. “Okay, okay. The turkey’s about done so grab some plates and we can start eating.”
Namjoon starts distributing the disposable plates, Seokjin with cutlery and Jungkook helps you set the turkey out of the oven and onto the table.
“Chim, can you pour the—mm.” He cuts you off with a kiss, mouth moving against yours sweetly. “The—the eggnog,” you finish breathlessly. He grins, stepping to the side for the cabinet above you for glasses.
You wait until the boys have piled enough onto their own dishes before you start ladling soup into a bowl, stealing a piece of broccoli from Seokjin’s plate as he passes by.
Jimin remains attached to you even as he deals out eggnog, pulling you onto his lap as you finally settle down. Jungkook and Taehyung are busy setting up the gaming consoles whilst arguing with Seokjin over what games to play.
Hoseok and Namjoon are talking between bites on the other sofa, the former’s signature laughter ringing in the air periodically.
Yoongi doesn’t say much, just shuffles over to lean against you. He seems comfortable, munching on his food as he watches Seokjin whine about being tag teamed over Mario.
Jungkook spots you and quickly ditches the argument, grabbing his controller and plate before plopping down before your feet, resting between your legs.
A quiet bark startles you and you quickly make space for Yeontan who scrambles onto your lap, circling once before settling down. You pluck a treat from the bowl on the side and feed the puppy who licks your fingers happily.
“How’s that new track you’ve been working on going?” You murmur, running your fingers through the Pomeranian’s soft fur. Yoongi watches with hazy eyes as you rub Yeontan’s ears, the dog making a low-pitched whine of contentment.
“Dunno yet. Still trying to give it a good base,” the composer sighs. You smile when you feel his hand creep into yours, squeezing tightly. He refuses to look at you, a dark flush staining his neck.
“Could you … give it a listen when you get the chance?” Yoongi clears his throat, attention still trained on the screen.
“Of course,” you giggle inwardly as you kiss his cheek. Cute.
“Movie time!” Jimin announces as he returns from where he’d gone to grab your selections. He dumps them on the ground in front of the players, effectively halting the game at hand as he spreads the DVDs out. “What’ll it be today? Action? Romance? Horror?”
Hoseok gives him a dirty look.
“Marvel,” Jungkook beams.
“No,” Namjoon deadpans. “If I have to watch another twelve hours of Tony Stank losing Pepper, I’m handing in my resignation to Bang PD in the morning.”
“Horror it is!” Jimin declares, brandishing a few classics.
Hoseok closes his eyes and screams.

??? :: standing in the eye of the storm / ready to face this, dying to taste this, sick sweet warmth
It’s warm. It’s so comfortable you snuggle in closer, an arm braced around your bare waist protectively.
“I think we’re drunk,” you whisper, a giggle erupting.
“Definitely—mm—should’ve, ah, mixed that eggnog with, mh, something,” you pant, arching your neck as Jungkook sucks lilac galaxies across the expanse of your neck, Jimin peppering kisses down your spine. When did you get naked? Your head spins pleasurably and you gasp when the singer moves to nip at your inner thigh.
“I need you,” Jungkook whimpers, grinding against your hip. You can feel his length twitch against you, hot and hard beneath his boxers.
It’s a blur after that, bodies pressed together as you all stumble toward the bedroom. Limbs tangled, a coil building with every thrust, reaching a high with a drawn out moan and a hoarse yell of your name, breaths mingling in a sated haze.

December 29
1 pm :: i won’t soothe your pain / i won’t ease your strain
You thank the customs officer as she returns your passport with a smile, stuffing it away in your bag as you make your way to the exit, luggage rolling in your other hand.
“Oh my God,” you breathe. You drop the handle of your suitcase, stepping closer. Raising a hand, you trail it up his arm, squeezing his bicep firmly.
“Have you—have you been working out?” You say, stunned.
Yoongi smirks. “Yep.”
“How come I hadn’t noticed this before?” They watch your eyes grow round with fascination, surveying him from head to toe.
You’re practically eye fucking him with the way you’re undressing him mentally, gaze intense and heavy, your tongue darting out to run across the lower seam of your lips.
“Don’t do that here, love,” Namjoon murmurs, grip tightening over the metal handle of his luggage.
“Shit,” Jungkook mutters, tugging his oversized hoodie lower over his dark-washed jeans.
“Hm,” is all you say, giving the rapper a final, appraising look before sweeping off to the plane.
“We are so fucked,” Taehyung sighs. Yoongi grins. “Yep.”
.

2 pm :: so you won’t hurt anymore / so you can smile more
“Um, excuse me; can’t you see this seat is taken?”
You can hear the indignant undertones of Seokjin’s outraged squawk, and you round the edge of the entrance just in time to catch the elder staring in rather comical disbelief at the way Jungkook straight up swipes RJ from the cushioned rest and plops himself onto it instead.
“___!” Seokjin whines immediately upon spotting you lingering at the side, a fond smile playing on your lips as he reaches out for you. You give him an exasperated look, shaking your head as you make your way to them.
Setting your bag to the side, you tap his nose playfully. “Jinnie, play fair.” And to Jungkook, you flick his forehead. “Ow,” he whines, rubbing the skin with a pout. “Mean noona.”
“Don’t be a brat,” you click your tongue, giving him a pointed look. His cheeks darken visibly, biting his lip as he ducks his head. Doe eyes peeking up at you from his bangs, pupils already blown out. He looks hungry.
“Later, baby. It’s been a long day. You should rest,” you say, amused.
With an exaggerated groan, he kicks his shoes off and makes himself comfortable. “Fine,” he says faux grumpily. “Good night.”
.
.
.
6 pm :: you promised we’d go together / but you’re leaving, leaving
“Flying is always the hardest part,” Namjoon scrubs his face wearily. He’s flopped onto the chair across from you, already fully reclined. “Although I really shouldn’t say that.” He corrects himself quickly, giving himself a bodily shake as if to physically banish the thought.
Your Joonie, always so conscientious, aware of the world and of himself. The mentality he carried matters to him. Your heart warms at the knowledge of this beautiful, intelligent man before you.
Unwrapping the thin blanket from the complementary flight packet, you swing a leg over his waist, shifting until the two of you were in a comfortable position. Finally, you settle, drawing the coverlet to your chins.
“It’s okay to feel tired. You should be honest with yourself,” you murmur, fingers tracing arbitrary patterns on his chest.
Namjoon lets out an extensive sigh. It sounds uncharacteristically hollow, and you look up, worried.
“Kiss me,” he appeals. Your fingers tangle in his hair as he hoists you up to sit on his lap.
You relieve his stress in other ways, tongue down his throat and palms splayed on his chest, buttons ripped from his shirt as you ride him until the lights fade.
.
.
.
12 am :: and i’m not scared / of your stolen power / i see right through you any hour
“Hey.” Hoseok peers up from his fringe, exhaustion lining the dark circles beneath his eyes. The typically healthy glow to his sun kissed skin is muted, paler in the light of dawn. He’s massaging his legs, a post-concert habit he’s picked up, the strain and wear on his muscles fueling a raw burn.
“Hi,” he gives you a small smile. Despite the brief period of respite they had prior to this break, their line of work never really rested. Hoseok had spent the better part of the morning after packing experimenting with the choreography for some of the new material Namjoon and Yoongi had previewed for him.
“You overworked yourself again,” you state. He nods, guilt bleeding into the way his eyebrows quirk. He’s so like Yoongi, the two peas in a pod when it came to their individual workaholic tendencies.
“I didn’t mean to,” he admits. “I was only gonna stay for an hour, but before I knew it, it was time to go.”
You wiggle out of Jimin’s hold, gently prying his arms from where they’re wrapped securely around your waist. The 95 liner makes an unhappy sound, burying his face in your stomach as he tightens his grip.
“Jiminie.” You coax, brushing his hair back from his temple. He lets out a soft sigh and loosens his hold. “Miss you a’ready,” he slurs. Hoseok watches with soft eyes as Jimin kisses you back lazily, still drifting in and out of slumber.
“Come here,” the dancer requests faintly. You adjust the blanket over the younger once more before carefully toeing over the myriad of legs sprawled over the floor.
He scoots over, patting the space of the spacious seat, one of the many perks and necessities of their growing affluence.
“Can’t sleep?” He shakes his head ruefully, smile crooked.
You help him knead his thighs, easing some of the soreness. He curls in close, finally drifting off as you smooth over his locks rhythmically, humming a familiar tune under your breath.
.
.
.
7 pm EST :: you said it wouldn’t be love / but we felt the rush (felt the love) / it made us believe it there was only us
“Whoa!” Jungkook presses himself against the window as the car pulls up to the resort, eyes sparkling as he takes in the familiar cartoon characters of old-time favourites. “No way! I don’t think we’ve ever been to the main park before.”
“Tokyo’s Disneyland was just more convenient with all our promotions and travelling,” Namjoon agrees, slipping his phone into his pocket to join in the youngest’s state of admiration. Clouds were sparse, Florida’s heat seeping through with strong rays of sun even in the late afternoon.
“Did ___-noona pick this hotel?” Taehyung asks, neck craning to squish himself next to Jimin to catch a view.
Their manager nods from where he’s consulting the papers in his notepad. “She thought it might be something you’d all prefer over Four Seasons.”
“God, I love her,” Jimin says dreamily. Hoseok pats his head, grinning just as widely.
“Hyung, no,” Namjoon says when Seokjin opens his mouth. The vocalist instantly pouts. “Hey! I had a really good one.”
“Okay, I’m going to check us in,” Sejin says, one foot already through the door. “Meet us at the lobby when you’re ready.”
They make noises of agreement before five heads turn to observe two sleeping babies piled on top of one another.
Your face is tucked into Yoongi’s shoulder, his fingers gripping yours tightly, even in slumber. His other arm curls over your waist loosely, eyebags thrown into sharp relief under the bright rays filtering in through shaded glass.
“Let’s wake Yoongi-hyung up. I can carry noona,” Jungkook suggests, leaving Jimin’s jaw floored. “Hey, wait! I was just about to—”
“Good luck,” Jin claps his shoulder as he breezes by.
“Wouldn’t it be weird if Kookie just walked in with her like that?” Hoseok says absently as they wait at the side of the vehicle, baggage in hand.
“…Nah.” They chorus, chuckling as Jungkook ambles slowly toward the lobby with you tucked safely in his embrace, the flow of foot traffic ignoring him completely.
“It’s Christmas break. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that a lot of couples have come like that,” Namjoon shakes his head in amused exasperation just as Yoongi tumbles from the car, groaning as he rubs his neck.
“Fuck, that hurt like a bitch,” the composer mutters, spine cracking as he straightens. Jimin covers his mouth as he yawns, tears pricking at the intensity.
“Language, hyung!” Their leader scolds half-heartedly as they wave at their driver who moves to pull the vehicle into parking before making their way to the hotel entrance.
.
.
.
“I call dibs on rooming with noona!” Taehyung yells, suitcase rolling loudly behind him as he skids to a halt in front of a door. He bounces on the balls of his feet excitedly, eyes practically sparkling as he waits impatiently for the remainder of his members to catch up.
“Hyung! Be quiet,” Jungkook hisses, shifting his weight carefully as he watches you stir lightly in his arms. He’s gently cupping your neck, hair loosely braced so he doesn’t accidentally end up pulling on the strands painfully. Your lips are parted slightly, breathing even and expression peaceful. He wants to lean down and kiss you. He catches Taehyung wiggling his eyebrows at him suggestively at the corner of his eyes and flushes, swiping at him with a foot.
“Ow!” Taehyung whines, rubbing his ass with a pout. “So mean, Jungkookie.”
“Shut up,” he mutters, neck blazing scarlet.
Meanwhile, Seokjin, with RJ tucked under one and the maknae’s ridiculously heavy bag held on the other, resorts to kicking his luggage in short distances as a makeshift means of transport. Hoseok’s voice is muted though remains animated as he chatters onto the eldest. Yoongi and Jimin are similarly dragging themselves to meet them, still struggling to shake off their drowsiness.
Namjoon stands off to the side, listening as their manager quietly explains the itinerary for the afternoon. Sejin hands him a few papers and two key card holders, gesturing at the two neighbouring rooms and points at the three across from them. He makes one last sweep to ensure the boys are all present and unharmed before disappearing into his own, nodding at the other staff members—including their bodyguards—that have opted in to help supervise and provide personal safety for the band. Left to their own devices, Namjoon quickly raises his hand before Taehyung could burst from sheer enthusiasm. The singer is left with his mouth rounding the first syllable of his word, jaw snapping closed with a deepened pout.
“Okay. Here’s how this is going to work. Jungkook will room with ___. The rest of us have to pick straws.”
“What?!” Five incredulous voices meet his announcement almost in complete unison, and the leader grimaces sheepishly. “Sorry guys, but this is the only way it’s going to stay fair.”
“I was going to carry her first, but Kookie stole her away before I could!” Jimin protests, suddenly wide awake at the news. He crosses his arms huffily and glares at the youngest, who’s starting to look rather smug.
“You snooze, you lose, hyung,” Jungkook grins.
“Aish, you brat—”
“Mmm, Jungkookie?” Jimin’s arm freezes from where he’s rolling up his sweater to beat the living shit out the maknae when he hears your sleepy voice. You’re rubbing your eyes so adorably, cheeks puffy. Jungkook swears he falls more and more in love with you every time he looks at you. His heart practically inflates like a goddamn party balloon as he brushes away stray tendrils from your forehead.
“Sorry baby,” he says softly. “Were we being too loud?” He cradles you closer to his chest, your hands coming up to press against him, cuddling closer. You’re blinking slowly, peering up at him through your lashes.
“Mmm,” you shake your head. Taehyung coos, and you childishly bat his hands away from where he’s reaching over to pinch your cheeks.
“You can put me down, Kookie,” you say sleepily. He gives you a doubtful look but reluctantly helps you to your feet.
“Thank you.” He ducks his head, flushing lightly as you press a kiss against his temple.
“Aigoo, take your bag, kid,” Seokjin says, shoving the expansive black duffle into his arms before rotating his shoulder, groaning. “What do you have in there? Rocks?”
“No, just a couple of dumbbells,” he answers distractedly, still feeling light-headed from your touch as he easily picks up his bag.
“Let’s just draw from a hat,” Hoseok suggests as he takes off his bucket hat, running his fingers through his flattened locks. You spot your own baggage sitting next to Taehyung’s feet, patting his cheek fondly as he smiles, kissing your palm. Ripping out a few loose leaf pages from a legal pad, you scribble their names on unevenly torn strips of paper and drop them into the dancer’s proffered accessory.
“Yes!” Hoseok and Taehyung cheer, hugging each other tightly. Namjoon and Seokjin exchange high-fives. Yoongi and Jimin groan simultaneously.
“Why do we even need two rooms?” Yoongi complains. “I bet we could fit all of us in just one.”
“I don’t think the beds are that huge,” you giggle, a smile playing on your lips as you dump the papers into one hand and dust Hoseok’s hat off with the other. He grins, shaking out his curls.
“Let’s just cancel the other room,” the composer murmurs, coming behind you to wrap his arms around your torso. He noses the length of your neck, lips soft as they brushed your skin. Jimin seems to second this idea strongly with the way he looks at you imploringly with wide eyes and pout. “I wanna sleep with you too, noona,” he whines.
“I can talk to manager-nim,” Namjoon offers.
“I’ll go with you,” Seokjin decides. “I wanna check out the buffet while we’re at it too.”
Yoongi snorts. “The real reason why you want to go.”
Meanwhile, Taehyung is unlocking the door, shouldering it open and practically tossing his bags aside as he sighs happily, throwing himself onto one of the two huge king sized mattresses.
Seokjin shrugs unabashedly, plopping his own bag onto the hardwood desk rounding the common area.
“Is this Ariel?” Hoseok asks, wandering over to the bedroom as he sits at the edge of the same mattress, smoothing it over with a hand to examine the design.
“Yeah,” you say shyly. “I wasn’t really sure what you guys would prefer, but you did mention that you liked her—oof!” Your squeak was cut short as the rapper reaches over to pull you onto his lap, burying his face in your shoulder.
“I like it,” he murmurs. Taehyung makes a muffled noise of agreement, lost somewhere in his nuzzling of the pillows.
“Alright, hyung, let’s go,” Namjoon calls, propping open the door as he flips through the additional papers Sejin just handed him. “Just a sec,” Seokjin replies, rummaging for his sunglasses. “I’m gonna grab a snack while we’re at it.”
“___’s right here, hyung,” Jimin chimes in teasingly. He’s opted for a self-tour of the bathroom, one of your missing headbands already pushed up over his bangs and cleansing cream spread over his fingertips.
“I said a snack, not a whole eight course meal,” Seokjin answers, huffing. “Okay, let’s go.”
The door closes quietly behind them before you could stutter out a reply, Hoseok busying you with his lips, showering you in soft kisses over the apples of your ripened cheeks.
“Oh hey, there’s a folding bed with the couches,” Yoongi says, head popping from the side as he tests the spring of the sofa. “I think I’m gonna take a nap, actually …”
With one last sweet kiss, you pull away from Hoseok, who whines a bit but acquiesces as you murmur something into his ear, touching his jaw gently before he allows you to slip from his hold. He wanders over to join Yoongi, who lets out a disgruntled groan when the dancer clambers over him and settles on the right, phone in hand.
“Kookie, c’mere,” you call. The maknae comes bounding over, shaking out his locks as he pulls on a fresh shirt. It’s a plain grey tee, a tag peeking from the tips as the fabric flutters to a rest against his hips. He’s also changed into a comfortable pair of matching grey sweats.
“Lay on your stomach,” you direct as you open your travel sized med kit you’d started carrying with you whenever you travelled with the boys. The sheer amount of injuries they sustained on a regular basis had you mobilizing a mini-hospital, particularly for Jimin and Jungkook. The pair seemed especially susceptible to accidents out of the most unexpected of situations. Like ripping his heel from colliding into furniture during rehearsal just before a stage.
You remember how devastated he was, stitches stretching across skin, all wrapped in medical tape. Seokjin had been the one to call you, explaining the situation and you flew over the night of despite having been in court for most of the day. He crushed you to him the moment you stepped in, that beautiful but tired smile playing your lips, arms trembling as he buried his face in your chest. He didn’t say much, just a quiet, “please … take me home, noona.” To which you answered with a soft kiss to his temple, coaxing him up as he hobbles next to you, slowly making your way to the car where the eldest has been patiently waiting. His lashes were wet, tickling your neck from where his head remained hidden, pressed against your skin.
His doe eyes were wide and teary as he scrubbed his cheeks, leaning heavily against you. Your thumb grazed over his knuckles soothingly as he stared out the window stubbornly, upper lip quivering. You stayed with him that night, your mere presence wordless comfort as he curled up at your side, stroking his hair.
Offstage, you watched as he sang; a single silhouette under searing lights, grounded in a leather seat. You knew guilt and remorse simmered in his gaze, and if you could tell, so could his hyungs and the millions cheering for him.
“Ready to go?” You smiled, shouldering your bag as you cast one final look over your shoulder. The bass pulsates through the stadium grounds, echoing through the arena rows and reverberating through darkened skies.
“Yeah. Yeah, let’s go.” You missed the way Jungkook looked back at the wings, as if searching for a glimpse of you. But the curtains billowed behind you, footsteps lost in the noise.
“I missed you, that day. Why didn’t you come say goodbye?” Jungkook asks now, and your fingers pause from where you’re fiddling with his thin shirt. A glance to the side tells you Taehyung is fast asleep, cuddled against a pillow, gentle snores escaping parted lips. At some point, Jimin had climbed into the empty spot next to him, dragging a light sweater over his 95 liner companion and another for himself before collapsing.
“Lie down, baby,” you repeat, avoiding his heavy gaze as you push his top up. His hair, returned to its natural ebony hue, falls over his eyes, fluffy and soft. He’s been growing it out recently, the wavy strands framing his forehead. Lines of muscles stretching across gorgeous golden skin, you can’t help but run a hand down his perfectly toned torso. He lets out a quiet, shaky sigh. You can feel the goosebumps raise, and he catches your hand just as you thumb his v-line.
“Don’t,” he says, voice catching as he presses his hand over yours. “You’re distracting me.”
“Lie down and I’ll explain,” you try instead. A flicker of doubt shadows in his eyes, but he nods, scrambling onto the bed. He settles on his stomach, fidgeting slightly as he tries to find a comfortable position. He knows you’re looking at him with fond exasperation, ears pinking as he finally stops, resting his cheek against his forearms.
Swinging a leg over his narrow waist, you perch on his plump ass. You grin to yourself when you hear his muted grunt.
You carefully peel away the new pain patches he’d added this morning, just before the flight, and he barely flinches at the burn. “I’m sorry. You had to carry me,” you murmur, tracing the reddened skin outlining where the medicated dressing had been. He twists almost immediately, instinctively moving to reassure you.
“Don’t move,” you say automatically. Jungkook relaxes reluctantly, and you pat his side gently, letting him know that though you meant it, you also knew it was a choice, one made willingly and without an ounce of regret.
From the kit, you squeeze some lightly-scented lotion onto your palms, rubbing them together to warm it up before placing them over his shoulders, starting slow. He groans in satisfaction when your fingers dig at a particularly hard knot.
“Your fingers are magic,” he sighs faintly, eyes fluttering in bliss. He seems to have forgotten his earlier query all together, and falls silent soon after, as you make your way down the expanse of his back, sore muscles loosening with every knead. The room is quiet, tranquility broken by an occasional shaky exhale from Jungkook, a symphony of soft snores from the slumbering members and distant chirping of birds.
Some twenty minutes pass, your hands tiring as you wipe them down with a towel. You notice the maknae has succumbed to exhaustion himself, chest rising and falling rhythmically.
Lifting yourself up and over, you begin returning your materials to the kit, bending over to carefully tuck the container next to your luggage, trying to reduce as much noise as possible.
Pulling the thin linen over him, you check to ensure he’s comfy before taking a seat next to him. Your phone buzzed from where it was thrown onto the drawer. Rubbing your eyes wearily, you squint at the screen.
[7:50] Joonbug: You awake, baby? Wanna grab some dinner?
Smiling, you mute the device before answering.
[7:50] You: Joonieeeeeeee! yessss I am. Everyone else is sleeping though, should I wake them?
He gives you the affirmative and adds that Seokjin is busy hitting up every stranger he’s met in the lobby, and begs you to save him.
You wait another five minutes before putting your phone away, leaning over to wake Jungkook with a soft kiss on his cheekbone. “Wake up, baby. Dinner time.” He groans, lifting his head up to blink at you groggily. “’M not hungry.” His voice is raspy, and you give him a knowing look when his stomach gurgles in response. He flushes darkly and buries his face back into the pillow. “Okay, okay. I’m coming.”
As Jungkook lethargically swims around the bed to feel for his previously discarded pieces of clothing, he finds his shirt and shorts folded neatly next to his pillow. You move to wake the remaining members as he does.
Jimin is an easy one to wake. He’s already stirring, having only been napping lightly and heard your quiet attempts to rouse the youngest. He’s rubbing his eyes, making a soft noise of surprise as your lips touch his, before melting quickly. His hands cup yours over his face, breath warm as he sighs happily when you part.
“I love you,” he whispers. Your heart flutters, cheeks colouring unwittingly as you stroke the underside of his jaw. He’s flushed similarly, eyes half-lidded, dopey smile growing as you say, “I love you more, baby.” He nuzzles your nose and then reluctantly allows you to roll over to tend to Taehyung as he stretches briefly before moving to splash some water on his face.
“TaeTae~” You sing. You tug the pillow he’s hugging to his chest away and wedge yourself in between instead. His arms tighten around you, leg hiking over your thigh. Taehyung automatically nuzzles his cheek against your chest. It’s so comfortable you’re tempted to stay, but the distant clattering and low murmurings floating from the ensuite bathroom urges you to return to work. You nudge him gently. “Tae, wake up.”
He only snuggles in closer, unwilling to rouse just yet. You kiss the corner of his eye. “Dinner.” He squirms a bit at the ticklish feeling of your lips and finally lifts his head to peer blearily at you.
Taehyung blinks once before his head drops, nestling right back. “No,” he whines childishly. The vibration of his throat, though hoarse, still manages to sound ridiculously sexy, sending a shiver down your spine. He knows exactly what he’s doing to you, and you can feel his smile from where he’s pressed against you as he thumbs the sliver of skin revealed from where your shirt rises over your hip.
“We can stay in bed all you want another day,” you promise. Taehyung lifts the fabric with the tip of his nose, scattering kisses on your stomach lazily. “Mmm. I was dreaming of dandelions. They were so pretty.”
“Yeah?” Your fingers knot in his silky locks, a contented sigh escaping as you lean into the comforter.
“Yeah. But not as pretty as you,” the dark-haired man says dreamily.
“Horndog,” you say playfully, giggling as you feel the way his mouth curls into a smile, the outline etched against your lower abdomen. You allow him to remain nestled in your warmth for another minute before tugging at him.
Taehyung groans, grudgingly detaching his lips from where he’d busied himself with making his way down your navel, letting go of the band of your jeans. “Fineee. I’m up. But if Jimin used my toothbrush again, I swear …”
“Last time I checked, you were the one that used his,” you giggle.
Taehyung huffs, pouting as he slides off the mattress slowly. “Schematics.”
“I packed an extra for you,” you remind him with a light pat to his buttocks. He yelps softly when you give him a firm squeeze. “Front pocket.”
He wiggles his eyebrows suggestively when you let go, but you give him a pointed look, thoroughly amused. “Go clean up, Tae.” He pads away to join his friend obediently, pausing by your suitcase briefly to claim the product.
Pulling on the sweater the dancer had flung over a seat earlier as you pass, you kneel at the edge of the provisional mattress where the two composers are sprawled, peacefully unaware.
“Seokie. Hoseokie.”
“Jagi?” Hoseok rasps, voice thick with sleep.
You touch his neck lightly. “Hi, baby. Time to wake up.”
He rouses slowly. Fingers stroking golden skin where his shirt rides down, exposing his gorgeous collarbones.
“Dinner,” you say. Slipping lower to trace innocent figure eights on his firm stomach.
“W-w’at’s for dinner?” His breath stutters as he blindly grasping your wrist. He moves it up, flattens your palm against his pecs.
“Dunno,” you murmur, nails scraping his nipples. He squirms, spine arching as he presses himself closer to your touch. “Let’s go find out.”
Hoseok whines at the loss of contact, tries to follow it, but you push him down gently. “Later.”
“Mmm.” He kisses the pads of your fingers where they’re outlining the shape of his cupid’s bow.
Finally, he sits up, eyes still closed, chestnut locks in complete disarray.
“You’re adorable,” you sigh, cupping his cheek. Hoseok’s smile is lopsided, drowsy as he leans into you.
A disgruntled sound echoes from where another face is burrowed deep into the comforter, interrupting your moment as you both turn to look at the source.
“I’ll let you deal with this one,” Hoseok snickers, working his shoulder as he swings his legs over the edge. You snag the hem of his tee, pulling him back for one last kiss. “Mmpf—”
“Meet you in five.” The dance makes a noise of affirmation against your lips, resisting the urge to melt beneath you as you part. He buries his face in your nape, inhaling deeply. He’s always liked your scent, light yet achingly sweet. Headier when he’s entangled with you, sweat glistening on your skin like a sheen of seduction. Of temptation. A mild addiction, and you indulge him thoroughly. Hoseok kisses the underside of your jaw, pants already beginning to draw uncomfortably tight.
God, your ability to bewitch him without even trying. Some nights it’s beyond frustrating, has him twisting and turning in his sleep, dreams tormented by the taste of your warm flesh, memory of your supple thighs and soft lips. Your kindness, the vibrancy of your spirit.
Shit, you’re going to derail him.
“Going,” he says thickly, adjusting himself quickly before clumsily scrambling off the bed. He catches the sly quirk of your mouth before he disappears around the corner, as if you know exactly what you do to him.
It’s just the two of you now. Someone’s running a shower in the background, likely Jungkook if his earlier expression of feeling rather filthy following a fifteen hour flight without having taken a beat was any indication. You can make out the distinct reverberation of Taehyung and Jimin—Hoseok joining in shortly—discussing their individual route ideas for the next day in excited tones.
“You’re staring.” His lips barely move, voice hoarse.
“I’m gazing.”
“It’s creepy.”
“It’s romantic,” you correct with a giggle. He peeks up at you with a look, mouth twitching, before promptly stuffing himself back into the couch.
“Come on, baby. They’re waiting for us.” Yoongi groans lowly, eyebrows knitting as he curls into himself tighter.
“Yoon—oh!” Your breath is knocked out of you as he suddenly rolls over, trapping you beneath him.
“Aren’t you hungry?” His nose skims your inner wrist where you’ve reached up to stroke his cheek.
He lowers his head to nip at you. “Hungry. Just not for food.”
Your leg moves up to hitch over his waist, knee pressed against his side. Arms sliding around his neck, you smile up at him. “Yeah? Then what are you hungry for?”
“You … obviously.” He kisses you languidly as he lifts you up until you’re straddling his lap, hands splayed on your legs, wishing you had worn those shorts he’d yanked from you at dawn. Not because he didn’t want you to wear them, no. You’d looked so delectable he had bent you against the wall, shoved a hand down your front and fingered you to completion while he rutted against you, hands groping your flesh desperately, coming in his jeans like a horny teenager. He owes you at least five pairs now.
Taehyung’s head pokes in from the corner. “Are you guys coming? Jin-hyung keeps complaining about his stomach. If we don’t go soon, he’s going to start without us.”
Yoongi sighs. “Okay. Let’s go.”
The composer sticks up his middle finger at the younger’s smirk as he passes. “Dick.”

8:10 pm :: i never regretted the day i called you mine
Dinner is rowdy.
It’s a delightfully expected affair after having been with the boys for so long. Their excitable yet humble natures are prone to alleviated activity, especially whilst shoveling good food on an empty stomach after such a long flight.
“Why aren’t you eating?” Seokjin asks between mouthfuls. Your chin is propped up, watching them with fond eyes as they laugh and converse amongst themselves. “I like watching you guys eat.”
“Or we could eat you,” Taehyung mumbles, smile innocent as you whip around to stare at him in shock. He’s twirling a piece of noodle on his fork.
“We are not having this conversation right now,” you say pointedly, pushing the utensil into his mouth.
“Why? It wouldn’t be the first time,” the singer nearly chokes when you elbow him hard.
“We’re in public.”
“Wouldn’t be the first time for that, either.”
Your entire face is on fire, letting out a strangled squeak. The only one with any decency is Namjoon, who looks thoroughly scandalized.
“Dessert, anyone?” Jungkook catches onto your pleading expression and echoes your sentiment, grabbing your hand and leading you to the sweets section quickly.
“Thank you,” you say, relieved as you kiss his cheek. “My saviour.” The maknae ducks his head shyly, fumbling with the plate as you turn to see their leader catching up.
“You, too?” Namjoon nods, exasperated as he snags a cone from the side. “If I have to hear another word about food play, I’m going to puke.”
You poke at his dimple. “As if you hadn’t done the same. You, Tae and your exhibitionism kink.” He rubs his neck sheepishly. “Point taken.”
“I don’t know how people can eat whipped cream,” The rapper comments as you make your way back. You return with a bowl of mint chocolate chip, but that’s not what they’re staring at.
He has two large scoops of plain chocolate ice cream, topped with graham cracker crumbs, chocolate chunks, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a touch of sprinkles.
And promptly smashes them all together.
“Oh, God,” Seokjin squawks, disgust and judgment emanating like microwaves.
“Hyung, you should try some!” Jungkook says cheerfully, spooning a sizable portion, seemingly unbothered as you all watch in equal parts revulsion and awe.
“I don’t know whether to be horrified or impressed,” Hoseok whispers to you.
“A little bit of both,” you murmur, stomach queasy as you push away your ration, the sight suddenly unappealing.

9:20 pm :: hey, whatcha doing for the rest of your life? / i don’t even know what i’m doing tonight
The evening is peaceful, the distinct sound of conversation muted, footsteps muffled by the gentle chirping of crickets.
He’s contemplative tonight, more so than usual. It verges onto brooding, edges into meditative.
Even the furrow in his brow is pensive.
“What’s going on?” You reach up to smooth over the frown lines. Namjoon looks up, blinking as he reorients himself.
He takes your hand, kissing your palm with an apologetic smile. “Sorry. Deep in thought.”
“I know. I just want to know what about,” you say, amused.
“I’m worried,” he admits. “This tour took a lot out of us, especially Jimin and Taehyung. Jungkook told me you spoke to him earlier, but I was wondering if you could—”
“Joon,” you stop him, straightening the collar of his Cuban collar shirt. “They’ll come to me when they’re ready. The best I could’ve done was being there for them when they needed it.”
“So much scrutiny. The eyes of the world on us. Almost Jungkook’s entire life has been this spotlight. And Jimin—he’s come so far, learned to accept himself as he is. Taehyung’s opening up more. Hoseok’s stopped pretending all the time. Jin’s starting to recognize his worth. Yoongi’s finally taking care of himself. But what if—”
“There are no what ifs. Just what is. ‘Born as an idol, reincarnated as an artist’, right?” You rise on your tippy toes, and he bends down to meet you as you press your forehead against his. “They’re okay. You’re all okay. Better than okay.”
“This vacation will be good for all of us,” Namjoon concludes with a sigh. His breath is warm, minty as it ghosts across your lips. “To clear our heads. Figure out where we want to go from here.”
“Just enjoy it,” you answer. The affection in your tone subdues the anxiety in his heart easily. “Like the 20 something year old men you all are.”
When he kisses you, his apprehension thaws. Namjoon slides his fingers through your hair, arms cradling you gingerly and kisseskisseskisses you until you’re breathless and looking up at him in wonderment, eyes soft and tender and every nerve is on fire, every touch setting him ablaze.
You’re looking at him like you love him.
Fuck, you’re so beautiful.

December 30
12:05 am :: it’s everything you wanted / it’s everything you don’t
“Jimin. Jimin!” He shoots up, waking with a gasp. Dark hair disheveled, looking around wildly. Sheets tangled and body burning. He pulls on his shirt violently, the material plastered to him like a second skin.
“Hey, hey.” Your hand is cool, steadies him as it rests against his shoulder. Jimin thrashes, struggling to wrestle the fabric from his chest.
“Hey—hey! Jimin, look at me.”
You hold his face, and he’s vaguely aware that he’s crying, cheeks damp.
“Bad dream?” He nods furiously, hiccupping as he weakly tries to scrub them away with the heel of his palms.
“Let me get you some water,” you say softly as you coax them away, lacing your fingers through his. Jimin shakes his head rapidly, squeezing your hands as he croaks, “Don’t go. Please.”
His throat feels sticky, stomach roiling. Nauseous.
You rearrange the pillows and help him sit up against them. “Breathe, baby.”
Jimin buries his head in your stomach, still trembling as he clutches at your waist. “N-noona …”
“Oh, Chimmy,” you say sorrowfully, stroking his hair. His pain is palpable; the mental scarring much deeper than he often lets on. “What’s going on in that busy head of yours?”
His locks are damp and you push his fringe back to press a gentle kiss on his forehead. “Jimin.”
The singer’s grip slackens, letting out a shaky sigh as he reluctantly allows you to pull away. He whispers a small, “okay” at your murmured reassurance and watches as you make your way to the kitchen. Taehyung takes your place shortly as he returns from the bathroom with a cold towel.
Jimin can dimly make out the sounds of his remaining band members speaking in lowered tones just outside of the bedroom, likely woken by his vocal thrashing.
Guilt wells up and he pulls the covers up to his chin as he sinks down in embarrassment.
In the living room where they’ve gathered around the sofa bed, Hoseok sighs. You glance over from where you’re fiddling with the coffee maker.
He looks weary, rubbing his temples as he explains, “He’s been crying and sleep talking almost every other night since Osaka. It’s died down recently but he always says he doesn’t remember what the dreams are.”
Yoongi throws an arm over his eyes from where he’s still lying down. “Do you have any ideas on what they could be about?” He’s tired, they all are. It’s been a long day.
But it’s Jimin, and they’d do anything for him.
“Not a clue,” the dancer groans, flopping back. You rip open a tea bag, listening silently as you fill up the hotel endorsed mug with hot water and drizzle it lightly with honey. A small packet, carried solely for these moments.
“Something to do with the tour, probably,” Namjoon guesses. His fingers drum against his thigh, hair a crow’s nest with how fiercely the strands are sticking up. Seokjin, too, looks uneasy as he runs a hand down his face.
Jungkook’s chewing his lower lip, expression clouded.
“Go back to bed,” you urge them as you walk over with the steaming cup. “You can’t rush him.”
“I’m just worried he’ll break down,” the eldest says tersely, trailing after you as you tug at him to stand. The rapper follows suit, and the two exchange their concerns with the vocalist in question quietly.
Jimin takes your proffered drink gratefully, the pit in his stomach alleviated with every sip.
“I don’t—I don’t remember,” he says automatically when Namjoon asks.
You look at him searchingly, but his hazel eyes are dark and unreadable. Troubled.
“Okay,” you say simply, setting the cup to the side when he’s had his fill. “Try to get some rest.” You kiss the corner of his mouth, settling beside him as he lays his head on your arm. The boys grudgingly disperse after dropping their own kisses on your cheeks.
“Don’t even think about it,” you thumb his lower lip as he tries to apologize. Jimin kisses the pad of your finger and burrows into your warmth instead.
When his breathing evens out and the lines on his face smooth out, you know he’s somewhere better. His grasp gradually loosens, lulled by your gentle touch as you smooth over his curls rhythmically.
Once you’ve ensured Jimin is, in fact, resting peacefully, you adjust the pillows and draw away. You gingerly shake your arm, needles and pins stinging dully.
Taking a cursory glance around the room, you take count of your boys, only to realize there is one missing. “Where did he disappear to?” You murmur, frowning.
You turn when Seokjin, drifting off quickly, manages to reply groggily, “He said he wasn’t sleepy anymore. Try the gym.” He doesn’t sound too concerned over the departure of their maknae. It wouldn’t be the first time.

2:15 am :: i’m not a stranger / no, i am yours
Moonlight streaks through the glass plane, the ceiling a semi-circle arching over an impressive pool. The water ripples, the facility silent save for the occasional surface break for air. Footsteps muted, you pad your way to the corner of the tiles. He moves gracefully, the refraction of light scattering his image momentarily as he weaves through the lanes.
“Jungkook.”
Spoken softly, almost a whispered sigh when he comes up for a breath and yet he somehow manages to hear you. He always does—almost like he’s attuned to your very being. He finishes his final lap with a front stroke, giving himself a quick shake as he resurfaces.
He hauls himself up, droplets clinging to his golden skin, corded muscle bunching enticingly with every movement. Long, tousled dark locks plastered against his forehead, he sweeps them back with a hand. You reach out to trace a finger over that vein running down the length of his arm, touch light as he sucks in a breath in response. Goosebumps raise instantaneously and he shivers.
You wordlessly gesture for him to follow you. He takes your hand and trails after you, obediently taking a seat on one of the lounge chairs as you settle behind him. A stack of fluffy white hotel provided towels lie on the small patio table next to the two of you.
“Lean back.” Jungkook flinches at the feel of your warm breath tickling his ear, and you stifle your giggle at the way his body heats at the sound of your voice.
He closes his eyes as you begin massaging a towel through his damp tresses, squeezing the tips of his strands to wring them out effectively. The effect is soothing and the tension visibly seeps from him as you work in silence. When his hair is sufficiently dried, you toss the towel to the side in favour of a new one.
Then you touch his shoulder blades with the fabric. He stiffens instantly. “Kook.” A chastise and warning rolled into a gentle tone. He swallows hard.
“S’rry,” he mumbles, shifting as he forces himself to relax once more. It feels weird. The soft material invites minimal friction, though something about the action feels oddly erotic. His skin prickles, sensitivity spiking as you run the towel down the length of his spine.
“Stand up.”
He tenses, rising to his feet slowly. Then he turns.
His midnight black hair curls around his temples, dishevelled from your previous labour. The waistband of his swim shorts hug his hipbones, outlining the dips of his v-lines rather sharply. Hard muscles encased in bronzed skin, powerfully built, yet his narrow frame suggests a rather paradoxical fragility to him.
He’s breathtakingly gorgeous. The epitome of temptation. A purity you cannot help but long to ruin.
One step and you’re right in front of him, toes touching. A finger trailing down his chiselled jaw line, pressing against his pulse, fluttering rapidly beneath your touch. His skin is startling hot; burning, like he’s running a fever.
Jungkook exhales.
You are an addiction. But unlike a drug, it doesn’t leave him high and dry, not a temporary fix for a very permanent problem. There is no problem—you simply make his days better, brighter. His fame, his success—what is it all for, if he has no one to share it with? You aren’t his entire world. His resounding purpose in life. He doesn’t need you to be those things. Doesn’t need you to be his sun. Instead, you enrich his universe. Fill in the space between the stars in his galaxies. You bring totality. A completeness he’s never experienced before.
Amidst the happiness, there is also anger, frustration, sadness—you make him feel. Everything.
“What am I supposed to do … when you keep looking at me like that?” He whispers hoarsely. His eyes are half-lidded, dark. Desire swirls in those pools, twists the coil in his stomach until he’s wrought with an insatiable thirst.
He wants to be cherished. Each touch a token of your love, your affection. A promise to keep his heart safe. It’s only ever been yours to take, after all.
“Do you want me to stop?” You murmur, pausing as you linger at his collarbone. He shakes his head rapidly.
“Please,” he whispers, fingers flexing restlessly from where they rest at his sides.
“It drives me crazy. I always have this need to wreck you. That expression of yours … I want it. I want to devour you.” Jungkook trembles, arousal spiking in his blood. Cock noticeably straining against the polyester material of his trunks.
“If I took you against the wall? Fucked you so hard you couldn’t think anymore?” You croon, fingers skimming his chest as you circle him until you reach his back. “Couldn’t walk?”
“What—what if I want that?”  His chest is already heaving, sweat trickling down his sternum.
“Are you going to be a good boy for me?” A kiss between his shoulders. Lips dragging down the curve of his spine.
He tastes like sweat, the cologne of chlorine sharp, yet his own unique scent stirs faintly beyond the layers of artificial flavouring.
It hurts, how effortlessly you stimulate him with your mere presence and a few lilting words.
When you tug his weeping erection free, he’s already delirious with lust, cock throbbing and flushed angrily.
“W-want it,” he babbles. “Wanna be f-fucked by you. P-please!” Rationally, he knows you can’t do that here, that you didn’t bring such conspicuous toys, but the ache is intense.
He gasps like he’s been torn apart by a gunshot when you take him into your mouth, doubling over as his hands automatically grip your hair. Any other day you would’ve punished him for his carelessness, but tonight it’s about him. This whole vacation is—it’s your turn to give them the world—or as much of your world as you can.
His precum is salty, the heavy weight of his dick on your tongue makes you dizzy, panties growing slick at the feel.
The marble digs into your knees, but the discomfort fades as you watch him lose himself to the pleasure.
His sensitivity is a curse, he thinks dimly. Makes it so easy for you to make him fall apart.
You tongue over the vein running through his engorged cock, thumbing his slit. Spit dribbles down your chin as you take him in deeper.
“___! Ah! Uh—ugh,” he sobs, hips thrusting erratically. There are tears streaming down his cheeks, head thrown back in bliss.
He’s drooling, breathing ragged as he mindlessly chases his pleasure, and you let him fuck your mouth until he’s keening. “I—I’m—ah!” Your nails rake his thighs as you release him.
His mind blanks, ears ringing with white noise as he tumbles over the edge.
He cums in ropes, staining his stomach and splattering the tips of his fringe.
“Made such a mess, baby,” you coo. He’s shaking, barely coherent as you swipe at his pecs for a taste. His eyes are glazed over, mind still numb as he croaks your name feebly. You stand, wiping your mouth hastily as he wobbles slightly before collapsing onto you. Catching him with clumsy hands, he practically melts into you, nuzzling your stomach.
Reaching for fresh towel, you clean him up slowly. Jungkook sighs softly, gripping your wrist loosely. “I love you.”
You kiss his forehead. “And I love you.”
You grab your toiletry bag as you help him up. You lead him to the showers, him stumbling after you with weak knees. Turning the knob and testing the temperature, you strip quickly before pushing Jungkook against the wall.
Jungkook gasps, tiles cold against his feverish skin and his back arches as you drizzle vanilla body wash over his chest, trickling down his stomach.
He’s chanting your name, the words prayers on his lips as you wash him, still so responsive though your touches are purely platonic.
“Noona,” he breathes. “Please.” He wants more. He’s craving you. It liquefies his insides, the  yearning.
“Are you sure?” You rake his wet bangs back, water crashing down between you. “Yes,” he says as he kisses you hard.
The empty stalls echo his beautiful, broken moans when you bend him over and make him cum against the wall.

10:56 am :: ‘cause i don’t care when i’m with my baby, yeah / all the bad things disappear / and you’re making me feel like maybe i am somebody
“We slept in,” Seokjin complains loudly as he rolls off the bed, landing on the floor with a heavy thud. There’s a rather suspicious flick of hair that resembles a cowlick sticking from his head.
It’s a disaster; their clocks were all synched the night before for 9 am, but they’ve all opted to slam the snooze button, including you. The only other person awake is Hoseok, bright-eyed and fully dressed as he helps you rouse the other members.
“Coming,” you call, relief washing over you as you open the door to room service.
“Guys, breakfast!” You yell as you lay out the plates and cutlery. Chaos. That’s all you see.
Jimin and Taehyung are scrambling over each other for dibs on the bathroom. Jungkook’s hopping around, wrestles his socks on as he shoves on a pair of shorts. Namjoon’s sitting on a chair, flipping through a park guide, shirtless and bleary-eyed.
“Tae, go wake Yoongs, please,” you say distractedly as the waiter pulls out a bottle of banana milk. “Kook, drink.” You’re certain the cat-like composer remains buried somewhere beneath the sheets, Taehyung stumbling over with a toothbrush hanging askew from his mouth.
The maknae obediently starts gulping down his daily dose of liquid puberty alongside a piece of buttered toast, Jimin trotting over to spear a pancake and snag a bottle of water.
“How are you feeling, baby?” You ask as you slather on some peanut butter onto another piece, topped off with strawberry slices, and slide it onto a plate at the side for Taehyung.
“I’m good, noona.” Logically, his body should still be suffering from the lingering effects of jetlag and the events earlier, but he’s used to this kind of schedule – and he feels strangely refreshed in spite of it all.
“And you, Chims? Did you sleep well after last night?” You examine him as he drinks. Jimin nods, smile small but genuine. He looks relaxed, face and there is no tightness in the crinkle of his eyes. Satisfied, you turn to see Hoseok, who’s returned with your purse in hand.
You take it gratefully, pointing at the makeshift breakfast bar you’ve set up as you start throwing things into your bag. Sunscreen—“Taehyung, you have to rub it in harder”—water—“No Sprite, sorry Hobi. It’ll explode when we open it”—sunglasses—“Just keep them with me, Joon, you nearly lost them twice on the way here”—and wallet—“No, I have enough cash for food, stop handing me bills, Yoongi!”
“Alright, boys! Let’s go,” you clap your hands. A flurry of movement and body parts colliding, Namjoon yanking on a shirt, Jungkook flipping on his bag, Yoongi spraying mosquito repellant liberally like cologne, Hoseok patting lotion onto his neck calmly, Taehyung furiously scrubbing his face but somehow still managing to look like a badly painted ghost, Jimin fiddling with something in his hands, Seokjin adjusting the straw hat on his head, and you’re out.
.
.
.
2:00 pm :: please take me away from here / when i’m far too tired to fall asleep
“Noona,” he whispers. He slips something plastic and cool into your hand.
You inhale sharply. “Jimin.”
You’re in line for a coaster—a mild one, with no real drop, mostly for the creative effects and characterisation—and though the wait is shorter with your fast passes, there’s still significant time before you reach the front.
Glancing around, the boys are otherwise occupied. Hoseok is busy panicking and blowing into one of the barf bags you tucked into his bag after the plane as a gag gift, moaning as he begs Yoongi to ditch with him, to which the composer only shakes his head with an exasperated grin.
Jungkook’s taking some scenery shots for the upcoming GCF from the ledge of the sloped building the line is curved around. Namjoon’s scribbling in his pocket-sized notebook, likely lyrics if his head bopping and smile are any indications. Taehyung and Seokjin are fooling around, joking and laughing.
His neck flushes, but he meets your gaze evenly, amber irises blown out and wide. Imploring. He needs this. Needs you.
You run your thumb over the button, rolling the device in your palm contemplatively, eyes lidded.
And when he grips your arm, doubling over as he lets out an indiscernible gasp, lost in the music and wind, no one is wiser.
“Wanna take one home?” You say, kissing his jaw as he fixes his shorts. His blush is a vibrant scarlet as he nods into your neck.
You catch Namjoon’s knowing look when the two of you catch up outside the store. Smoothing over the glossy picture, you slide the photo into your purse with a finger to your lips.
.
.
.
3:40 pm :: you know i love you, did i tell you ever tell you? / you make it better like that
Your laughter fills the air, loud and unabashed as you smile up at him prettily.
He lowers the camera, chest tight.
He never thought he’d see the day, could never dare to dream of it. The nights spent trying to hold you together, your body warm and soft in his embrace, he forgets just how real this is.
“Joon! Tae, what is that? Oh, no—Yoongi, not you too …!”
“Thanks, hyung.” Hoseok turns to see Jungkook wiping his damp hands on his shirt as he makes his way to him from the restroom.
“No problem,” he answers tersely, returning the camera gingerly.
The dancer runs a hand through his hair, and counts his lucky stars.
.
.
.
6:32 pm :: it’s alright, now count 1,2,3 and forget / erase all the sad memories / hold each other’s hands and smile
“Hey. How are you feeling?”
He exhales slowly. It doesn’t surprise him anymore, the way the mere sound of your soft voice somehow manages to ease the ache.
“Fine,” he croaks. He tries to shift, and winces immediately at the way the pain resonates sharply in his knee.
“Liar,” you murmur, taking a seat at the edge of the couch. Exasperation and a touch of fondness seep into your tone at the way he attempts to mask his groan of pain with a vague cough. Pushing off his cap, you weave your fingers through his dark-coloured locks. He nuzzles into your calming touch, sighing in relief.
“Okay, my body feels like lead,” he admits. “But I can’t give up now. I think I’m going to start working out to increase my endurance too. Fake Love is really taking its toll.”
“What are you thinking? Treadmill?” You muse absently. Jimin gives you a small smile. “Something like that.”
It quiets for a moment. And then – “I don’t want to be like this anymore,” he whispers suddenly. A lone tear tracks its way down his cheeks, and he reaches up to swipe it away, embarrassed. You catch his hand, kissing his palm. “I don’t want to feel like this anymore,” he rasps. His eyes are puffing up, cheeks reddening and you know he’s desperately fighting the urge to cry.
His left leg is alleviated, ice pack adjusted firmly on his kneecap, pain medication subduing the rolling waves of discomfort.
“You’re so strong. It’s okay, baby. It’ll be okay. You can do this,” you breathe. Leaning in, you press your forehead against his. “Let go. Please. It’s just me.” His lips tremble and he bites it hard.
And then he’s shaking silently, shoulders quivering, and when your arms come around him, Jimin grips you tightly. Careful not to jostle his body too much, you cradle him close, thumbing the wet trails tenderly.
“Jimin. Jimin. Jiminie.” He blinks, eyes refocusing on your worried expression, realizing you’re waving a hand in his face.
He registers the dull ache in his arms, and looks down to see dumbbells dangling from his hands. “Oh,” he says weakly, setting them down.
“What’s going on?” He can feel your concern boring holes into his head. He just shrugs uncomfortably. “I … don’t really want to think about it right now.”
A low grunt attracts his attention as he peeks up. To witness their dark-haired producer shaking underneath you, arms wound tightly around you as he pants into the crook of your neck. You’re straddling him where he’s seated on the seated press machine, hips stuttering as Yoongi moans brokenly.
“Are you—is his—?” Jimin splutters, shock and arousal flitting through him as he stares. Yoongi looks positively wrecked, veins standing out harshly as he strains to keep himself in check.
You miss dinner when you finally leave the gym.

11:59 am :: it’s everything you wanted / it’s everything you don’t / it’s one door swinging open / and one door swinging closed
“Do you ever regret this?” Your voice a whisper, fingers tracing the slope of his nose, the pillows of his lips. The darkness engulfs you, but the curtain pulled over your heads remains a haven for the weary.
He nips at your touch playfully, eyes a gentle, smoldering obsidian. “Knowing you has changed everything for us. Made us remember we’re more than just idols, we’re people. We hurt, we desire, we love. We have hopes, dreams beyond just our professions. What we want in life, the person we choose to be.”
“I’ve lived this moment on stage a thousand times,” Seokjin murmurs against your lips as he bridges the gap to pull you close, exhales his confession like a secret, “And I would gladly give it all up for just another moment with you.” A piece of an untold truth, he carefully carves his heart out and offers it to you on a golden platter.
You fold his soul into a crane and tuck it inside your own.

December 31
1:50 am :: i am not ashamed anymore / i want something so impure
“T-that’s disgusting.” Even as he says it, however, his cock twitches, knuckles whitening from where they clutch the counter edge.
“A-ah!” He shudders, abdomen clenching sporadically as the chill trails down his stomach. “I-it’s c-cold.”
“Says the one whose mouth was wide open for Tannie,” you murmur, hands running down his front slowly. He flushes darkly. “T-that’s different.”
Ice cream drips from his honeyed skin, muscles rippling as he flexes. Your tongue follows the melting path, and he tosses his head back, agony ripping through him as he desperately searches for friction.
“Tell me, Hoseok,” you purr, biting the shell of his ear softly, “What is it you want?”
“You,” he pants, dark eyes blazing with something gold. “I want you to own me, to fuck me like you never want to let go. I want you to love me.”
“I’ve always loved you,” you say quietly, thumbing his cheekbones. Tears stream down his face when you sink down on him, marking his flesh until your galaxy is seared on his skin. He’s remade with every roll of your hips, seduced by your sweet touches.
.
.
.
2:30 am :: you better impress now, watching my dress now fall to the floor / crawling underneath my skin, sweet talk with a hint of sin
Namjoon blinks once. Then he raises his hands to rub his eyes furiously. And blinks rapidly. Nope, he’s not dreaming. That really is Hoseok’s face buried in your cunt.
“Huh,” he says mildly.
 .
.
.
5:20 pm :: i’ll seek you out / flay you alive
“You like it, don’t you? The idea that anyone can see you with your dick hanging out for the world to see like a common whore?”
Taehyung’s cheek is pressed against the tinted windows, sunset skies weaving faded melodies over his nudity. A painter’s exhibit come alive.
“Don’t you?” You snarl, yanking at his tresses. Taehyung jerks back, length weeping as his precum smears the glass.
“Y-yes,” he gasps, eyes rolling back as you scissor him, adding another finger.
“Beautiful,” you press the words into the dip of his spine. His cock is easily the longest out of them all, throbbing painfully. He trembles, struggling to stay upright. The ache is delicious.
You spread his legs almost obscenely as you fuck him, lube dribbling down his inner thighs and staining the wood flooring.
“Come for me, baby.” You bite his clavicle as he sobs, spilling over himself and coating the window pane white.

January 1
12:00 :: cheer up and dry your damp eyes and tell me when it rains / and i’ll blend up that rainbow above you and shoot it through your veins
“Happy New Year, baby.”
His lips taste like champagne; his tastes like wine. His smile is gummy; his is a beam. His touch is delicate; his is languid. His kiss is slow, savouring; his is sweet, cherishing. His body is hard, solid, muscles sinewy and refined; his is softer, leaner.
He smells like rain, the earth, parchment; he smells like peaches, lavender, pumpkin spice.
They smell like the promise of forever.
.
.
.
10:12 pm :: think about what you believe in now / am i someone you cannot live without?
“That night,” he takes a breath. “The nightmare—it was about you. And—and me. It’s hard to explain, hard to describe. It’s like losing everything we shared, how much you’ve made, shaped and changed me, everything I learned since meeting you.”
“You wouldn’t have liked the old me. I got mad easily, cried a lot and tried too hard to be something I wasn’t.”
“Jimin—”
“Wait, please,” he begs, kissing your knuckle. “I need to say this. All this time, I struggled to place what this is. What this feeling is.”
“The world is so beautiful with you in it,” he whispers. “Everything is brighter, more vivid. The stars, the skies, every touch, every taste. Sometimes I feel like being on stage pales so much in compared to this. You, being here.” He unfurls your hand, presses his palm against yours. Warmth bleeds through every brush of skin.
“But you also enhance each experience. Because I know, at the end of the day, you’re watching me—and that I’ll be coming home to you. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. More than the dancing, the singing, my career—a home. You gave it to all of us. And I hope,” he exhales, smile shy as he steps forward to drape his scarf over your neck, “That you will let us do the same. To be your refuge. For as long as you’ll have us.”
“And if I say forever?” You murmur. Hardly daring to be serious, but only timid honesty rings through.
“Then marry me. Marry us.” His eyes are bright, determined. Doesn’t falter even as you suck in a breath, heartbeat fluttering erratically.
“We know we asked you to wait, but we can’t anymore.” It’s Hoseok’s voice. You flinch in surprise, hand automatically starting to pull away from Jimin’s, but his grip tightens.
“I’ve never wanted more, before. But I do with you. I want everything with you,” he goes on earnestly.
They step out from the shadows one at a time, likely having been waiting in the wings since you’d arrived.
“I don’t another day to pass where I’m waking up without you next to me,” Jungkook whispers. Doe eyes shining in the dark. “I want to share my life with you. The good, the bad, everything in between. The laughter, the tears, the heartbreak. All of it. Whatever’s left, I want to have experienced it knowing you’re right there with me.”
“You make me question everything,” Namjoon exhales. “Make me a better person, make me want to be better. Not just for you, but for me. I started to learn what it really meant to love myself.”
“Your compassion is a gift,” Seokjin murmurs. “So much about you is. I lose all my senses around you, an intoxication I can’t shake off.”
“Made me realize that learning to rely on someone else isn’t a bad thing. That sharing isn’t redirecting burden,” Taehyung says shyly. “To conquer your adversities together, because you can’t do everything alone.”
“It is all yours to take … if you would have us,” Yoongi says, smile quietly hopeful as he flips open a velvet box. “To have and to hold, until death do us part.”
“Walk this life with me. With us,” he pleads softly. So softly it breaks you.
You kiss him. All of them, first hard and desperate, and then gently and lovingly. Yoongi slides the ring on, the band a welcomed weight onto your finger as Namjoon nips your lower lip teasingly.
“And maybe … just maybe, a little longer than eternity,” Taehyung’s smile is secretive when you reach him, a curious mysterious edge to that boxy grin of his, but the half-formed question barely materializes, brushed away like wind when he kisses you.
Your hand slides over his chest, and his own rises to cover yours, holding you fast to the steady pulse of his life.
11:11 pm :: when violet eyes get brighter / and heavy wings grow lighter / i’ll taste the sky and feel alive again / and i’ll forget the world that i knew / but i swear i won't forget you / oh if my voice could reach back through the past / i’d whisper in your ear / “oh darling i wish you were here”
You’ll never have to walk alone again.

A/N: Trigger warning ahead. Keep in mind I’m trying to keep accurate to the attitudes of the past, including the degradation of women and girls. I am truely sorry if anything triggers something unwelcoming!
This story was made as a culmination of my despair over the death of Rick May, the man who voiced Soldier for 13 years (since 2007), who had recently died to COVID-19 almost a week ago. In a way, this is my tribute to him.
For the first time in a couple of months, you were finally going to visit your Soldier, and you couldn’t be happier about it. Being away from the team sucked majorly for you, though you thanked Miss Pauling for helping you keep in contact with them, especially Soldier. You were able to recognise the words of the patriotic American in Medic’s handwriting, considering the fact that Soldier did not know how to write.
You pulled out a small toy badge from the pack, and you almost instantly smiled at the small thing. The colour had worn away over time but its pin was mostly in mint condition.
—————————————
“THIS IS WAR MAGGOTS! THOSE GERMAN BASTARDS WILL PAY FOR FIGHTING AGAINST AMERICA!”
The shrill voice of a young and very loud boy erupted from the playground as a very large group of young boys began inventing an unrealistic reconstruction of a WW1 battlezone, much to the annoyance of a smaller group of girls who had been in the same area first.
You watched with gleeful curiosity at the boys who were rolling around in the dirt and shooting each other with stick-rifles and throwing water balloons as grenades. You wanted to join in on their fun, even if you had been denied playing with them in the past. The girls you were with began leaving, calling for your attention as you snapped back to reality after watching the makeshift battlezone for a while.
“Hey [y/n], are you coming with us or not?”
“I, um...might stick around and watch for a while longer...just to see if there is anything to laugh about later!”
“Whatever you desire, later [y/b/n]~”
They walked away from you laughing, but you didn’t care too much about it...if you didn’t think about it too much. Making sure the girls were as far away as possible, you carefully began to approach the group to ask if you can join. You had managed to avoid getting hit until a boy accidentally slammed into you, knocking you to the ground. Once your senses fixed themselves, you were hauled onto your feet by a few other boys who noticed you after your collision.
“Well well well lads, what do we have here?”
“What’s a girl like you doing over here away from the other girls?”
“I...I wanted to come and play with you...”
“Girls can’t play war, they play gross stuff like House or something!”
“Hey, here’s an idea: take off ya shorts and lift up ya skirt completely, then we’ll let you play.”
“W-what, no! That’s gross!”
“Then cry back to the girls dollface, you won’t get to play with us unless you lift your skirt up sissy!”
They began ‘encouraging’ you to do what they had asked in exchange for letting you play with them, even taunting you with all the other girls who did what they wanted and how much fun those girls had playing with them. You began to feel too overwhelmed with the demands as tears began to form, earning a laugh from the group.
“THAT IS ENOUGH FROM YOU LADIES!”
That same loud voice that you heard from earlier erupted through the group, catching your attention as well. A small boy with a pot over his head and a plastic pin badge on his shirt shoved his way through the crowd with a scowl on his face and turned to face the boys.
“This is NOT a place where you can hook up with girls! THIS IS WAR! There is no time for making goo-goo eyes and asking for favours from women, there is time only to fight and rescue the innocent from the enemy!”
“Get your head out of the fucking clouds Doe, this is make-believe idiot.”
“If she wants to play she CAN PLAY!”
“Not until she gives us what we want, she’s nothing but a coward!”
“NONSENSE! This, uh...what’s your name?”
“[y-y/n]..?” You stuttered in response, confused and upset.
“This young lady [y/n] is an innocent caught up in the War, and it is my duty as an American soldier to rescue the innocent!”
He struggled to pick you up bridal style, screaming as he ran off with you in his arms as the boys began to slowly go back to their game, disinterested in both you and your ‘rescuer’.
Once he ran far from the game, he set you on your feet and sat down to catch his breath. You hadn’t noticed your tears still falling from your face until he pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket and offered it to you.
“Mommy says it’s the right thing to do when a girl is sad.”
You took the handkerchief and wiped your tears away, shaking out a ‘thank you’ and ‘I’m sorry’ from your lips as you tried to calm down. You then found him standing in front of you with his toy badge in his hand, which had been extended towards you.
“B-but it’s yours, isn’t it?”
“You can have it for being very brave against those dogs Miss [y/n]. I’ve never seen a girl not pull her skirt up before in order to play with us. Good soldiers deserve medals!”
You wipes more tears away and gently took the toy badge from his hand, looking at it with curious eyes plagued with puffiness and tears. You looked back to the boy to see his eyes, now uncovered, who was grinning the biggest grin.
“I don’t like seeing girls sad because of other soldiers, that’s not the American way as my daddy says. If they’re being bullies to you again, count on American Army veteran Jane Doe to save the day every time!~”
———————————
Tears had streamed down your face as you looked back onto that memory. It had been the only time you had met Soldier outside of mercenary work, but it had been a memory you kept with you for so long; a memory that made you almost instantly recognise that same boy years later as a grown man. The same man you fell in love with. The same man you had wanted to see for months on end.
The van stopped as you had begun to wipe your tears away after letting them fall onto your backpack. Pinning the badge onto your shirt, you tidied up your hair and exited out of the vehicle without the pack, following Sniper through a large field filled with gravestones of the dead. You remembered burying your boyfriend’s mentor in this very same field, and how upset he had been when that day came.
If only Soldier could know how heartbroken you were when you were forced to miss his own funeral.
——————————
It had been a couple of weeks since you heard anything from Soldier directly. You only got the odd update from Demoman once a week, at least up until 2 weeks ago when the letters stopped. Your worry had done nothing to ease your mind as your thoughts plagued on the virus spreading throughout the Doublecross area, where your team was assigned merely 3 months ago. Your worry had been increasing tenfold when you received the news that 5 members of the team got infected, and battles were erupting again in Doublecross between both teams stationed there.
You wanted to do nothing more than to travel to Doublecross and be there for him, but mercenary work forced you away, and your requests for shore leave were always denied. All you could do was hope and pray and beg to whoever was out there to keep them all safe; to keep Soldier safe. The plastic badge that stayed on you 24/7 was your only source of comfort, though it did little to stop the tears that had fallen from sheer worry and panic.
You awaited for Miss Pauling to arrive with the week’s batch of letters, your current team waiting alongside with you. Miss Pauling arrived eventually and gave them all what they had wanted, leaving you with nothing more than an ever-growing worry for another week.
“Miss [l/n], I have something for you here.”
Your head perked up to those 6 words you so desperately longed hear for weeks. Getting up with hope in your eyes, you rushed over to Miss Pauling, only to have your worry return when you saw her eyes had been slightly red from...crying?
“M-Miss Pauling...?”
She straightened her posture and took out a folded document from her jacket pocket. Clearing her throat, she began reading it.
“Miss [y/n] [l/n], it has come to my attention that you had been anxious to hear of RED Soldier, Jane Doe, for weeks already. I am afraid to inform you that by the time this letter reaches you his funeral was held but yesterday.
As the only closest relative to Mister Doe as his beloved, I hereby inform you that RED Soldier Jane Doe has died in the line of duty 8 days ago.
Attached to this letter is the contents of a small ring box he had hidden in his room that was reserved for you. His personal things, split between yourself and your former team’s Demoman, will be brought to you at a later date for you to do what you please with them.
My condolences,
Administrator.”
You couldn’t believe your ears. You grabbed and re-read the letter over and over again, Miss Pauling tapping your shoulder to give you the mentioned ring box. Opening it, you saw a cheap-looking ring that was just too big for your ring finger. That broke you completely, as you collapsed in tears onto the floor, Miss Pauling kneeling beside you and holding you close in comfort.
——————————
You and Sniper approached a gravestone that had a box of scrumpy beside it. Looks like Demoman had recently been here. Sniper patted you on the shoulder before leaving you to your devices. You placed a bouquet of Soldier’s favourite flowers onto the dirt below and you sat down in front of the gravestone, your hands toying with the toy badge still pinned to your shirt, and the engagement ring that hung from a silver chain.
“...hey there Jane, I’m home at last...! I have a lot to talk to you about, so you’ll be here for a while...”
——————————————
Soldier sat with his back against his own gravestone, tears falling from his eyes as he listened to your stories and memories, memories he was able to share with you.
If there was one thing he hated about being dead, it was the fact he had been given permission to die before he got the chance to live a life with you.

Chapter Five
The police station smelled like burnt coffee and mildew rotted paper. Just from walking in here, my nose started to run. Inside a questioning room, Elena and her parents were crying over each other, thankful for more days together. Watching them made my heart swell and want to call my sister, I couldn't imagine thinking you'd never see someone again because of some monster human.
Outside the room stood Captain Man, Officer Bladell, and myself arguing.
"I found her. Therefore I take her statement." Captain Man's voice booms in the hallway.
Officer Bladell laughs sarcastically, jutting out his hip to rest on the wall. "Well Captain Underpants, you have no say so here. This is my house."
"Actually-" I begin before Bladell cuts me off.
He waves his hand in my face. "Cool it, kid. Convo for grown ups."
I'm not sure if I've ever wanted to hit a man so intensely before. Balling my hands into fits I put them behind back and squeeze my nails into the palm. Someone walks by and a whiff of mildew comes in causing me to sniffle so no snot fell from my nose.
"Aw, little baby boy, gonna cry."
"I'm gonna hit you, man!" I scream pulling my fist back.
"Hey, hey," Captain Man grabs my waist while I try to grab Officer Bladell's hair.
"Wow, Kid Danger, what's going?" Detective Shapiro shows up with his Skyscraper cup. How much coffee does he drink?
"This chub won't let us take Elena Gilbert's statement even though we have the authority to."
"You don't, you child!" Officer Bladell's cheeks turn a ruddy red.
"They do, actually." Detective Shapiro says taking a sip. "Just two weeks ago Captain Man graduated from the police academy. He is much apart of the force as you are, Bladell. Now let him do his job."
Officer Bladell's fists tighten and he huffs out an angry breath before stomping out the back alley door of the precinct. A brief silence falls over us before the detective clears his throat.
"Well," He taps his foot. "Shall we?"
Captain Man asks Elena's parents to leave the room while I sit at the table across from her. She gives me a wiry smile and plays with her fingers. "Do you need water or a snack?" I ask unsure what to say to her.
She shakes her head and folds her hands.
Captain Man comes to sit next to me before clicking a pen open. He flips his little notepad open and smiles up at Elena. "Elena, will be needing to go through your schedule on the day you were abducted. Now if you begin to feel uncomfortable at anytime, tell us and we'll stop."
Elena's blond hair slides off her shoulder as she nods. "I understand."
Elena starts explaining her day. She had woken up around 7:30 to the sound of her mother making breakfast in the kitchen. After eating, she walked to the nearest bus stop to get a ride to school.
"Everything seemed normal," She shrugs running her finger around her pointer fingernail. "That evening my parents and I went to Junk'n'Stuf to strictly browse. My mom told me we couldn't get anything since we had to pay rent this week. But I saw a mini porcelain ballerina and begged her to get it for me. When she said no, I screamed in her face and walked out."
Elena leans forward on her elbow and uses her hand to cover her eyes as she looks down. "I got so mad and I kept running. But when I turned on Salvatore there was a van, a black van. Of course, I'm not stupid...I didn't want to walk anywhere near it so I crossed the street. Then I heard a voice call for me. They knew my name. I stopped but I didn't get to turn around." She places a hand on the back of her head. "I think he hit me, or injected me with something because everything went black."
I hand a tissue to her when I see a tear drop to the table. The room stays quiet for a few moments and then the AC turns on. Elena leans back in her chair and looks up towards the vent letting it hit her face. Her cheeks were red.
"Are you ready to continue?" Captain asks putting a gloved hand on her's.
She nods licking her lips and taking a breath. "When I came to, it was dark and green."
"Green?"
She nods again. "There was a green glow that came from a pool. It looked just like jello with the bubbles inside and steam always rose from it. Its what he put in us."
"H-he put things inside you?" I couldn't control my voice.
"Just whatever that was," With every word, she never waivers. "I noticed tubes in both my nostrils, the green goo running through them. There was such a disgusting burn in my throat. I tried to move my body but nothing happened until I flung my arm backwards hitting flimsy rubber. I could feel something move in my ear which I just think were more tubes. Then I saw the boy. He was hooked up like me. Big, metal handles were clamped around his waist. I tried to see if I was like that but my head wouldn't move. His head though...it just hung there. I called after him but he never moved."
Elena takes a moment before continuing. "I was there for a long time before he came in."
"Who do you believe this he was?"
"The man who kidnapped me,"
"Can you explain him? Features? The way he walked?"
She thinks about it, tilting her head side to side. "He wore dark jeans and regular tshirts but always wore a Nixon mask."
"Richard Nixon?"
She nods. "He was always so cocky. Talking how clueless the police are, how they couldn't follow a clue even if it was right next to them." Her fingers tap on the metal table. "He took something from us, something blue. Almost like the green goo. It was collected in beakers that he drank from." Elena shudders.
Captain Man wrote profusely in his notepad so I took the next question. "How did you escape?
A smile forms on Elena. She shakes her head. "He made me to take showers twice a day. He'd walk to the facility with me and stand outside the door. I kept the water running and waited until I heard him walk away. He's stupid. I simply walked out, and found the stairs. At the top, there was a metal latch door that opened up. I crawled through it to find myself in the woods. So I started running, running so fast." She takes a deep breath and wipes a tear away. "I didn't know I could go that fast. I heard the latch open and him scream for me. Saying I'd die out there alone. But then the door slammed shut and I heard a car start. But I didn't see any road near the opening so I think it was hidden or camouflaged. I ran until I saw a sign splitting the wood between Neighborville and Swellview. I figure that I was close to the park so I just continued. Then I saw your uniforms and knew I was saved."
Captain Man nods, doting and crossing his letters. He looks back up and smiles at Elena. "Did you notice anything special while you were walking through the dungeon?"
Elena nods. "He had a police uniform on the floor near the entrance. A real uniform, not some costume. I think he's on the force." She whispers.
"So did she say anything good?" Detective Shapiro asks. He was sitting at his desk with his feet propped on it, swirling his Skyscraper cup around.
"That and then some," Captain Man says sitting opposite of him. He goes on to explain the situation. When he got to the blue goo part, Detective Shapiro gags on his coffee.
"What in the world would he drink from them?"
"Your guess is as good as ours." I shrug. "We'll know more about that when we speak to our scientist." Hopefully, Schwoz would have some answers.
"The last thing she said is that she found a real police uniform. She believes it's a man on the force."
Detective Shapiro nods. "That's makes sense, since she requested to only speak to female officers." He runs a hand through his curly hair. "I'll have a background done on all the officers. See if any are fishy enough to be suspects."
"From what we gathered, this man likes his authority and almost hates the force. Maybe look for someone who isn't on a higher rank, someone who is a big talker, but not much bulk behind it." Captain Man suggests.
Detective Shapiro nods, writing something down in his notepad. "I'll put someone I really trust on this. If you can, keep this part of the down. We don't want anyone to be suspicious and run."
"Of course,"
"Schwoz!" Ray yells when he steps off the elevator.
"He's not here." Charlotte says from the computer. "He went out with a friend, won't be back until tomorrow."
"Damn it," Ray whispers before retreating back to his room, probably to brood.
"So," She says turning to me. "What happened at the precinct?"
I shake my head. "It's just messed up, Charlotte. Elena thinks he's a police man."
"Of course," Charlotte huffs a breath out. "You can't freakin' trust cops. I hate that for her. She'll never feel safe around one again probably."
"Yeah," I walk closer to the moniter and peer at the screen. "What are you doing?"
She spins around and starts to scroll through listings. "I'm looking at records of unmarked black vans. There's not much to go on but I feel bad for not doing anything. There's not much for me to do here."
I lean down and put an arm around her shoulders. "You're doing great just thinking of this. You're very useful, Char."
"Thank you," She smiles.
I pull into the driveway and immediately slam on the breaks. A silver Mazda sat in my parking space, Mom's car. Before leaving the car, I take a couple of centering breaths, something Charlotte told me to start doing. When I open the door, I hear something fall. Peering behind the door, I see three suitcases. Then I hear my mother's voice from upstairs. A door slams and she comes down the stairs, leaning on the rail heavily. She almost trips on the last step. When she sees me, her eyes flare.
She points a bony finger at me. "Did you know about this?"
Dad walks down the stairs. I look at him. "Know about what?"
"Your father is kicking me out!" She takes a swig out of her water bottle, but even from where I'm standing I can smell that it's not water. "He claims I'm cheating on him and that I drink too much."
"Mom-"
"Kris, I know about the motel room in town you keep. Why else would you need something like that if you weren't cheating?"
Mom stares at him for a moment, caught in a lie. Her cheeks flush to a pink color. "Well, I'm taking the kids with me!" She screams. "You'll never see them again."
Dad shakes his head. "No, they will stay here. If they want you to, you can visit them here."
Mom races over and pushes him. "What do you mean if they want me to? You can't keep them from me!" She hits his chest.
"Stop this," He grabs her wrists. "Hitting me is not going to make me change my mind."
"You're an ass!" She screams fighting against his grip. "Let go of me!"
He does and she stumbles in to the suitcases.
"Let's ask them then." She says cockily. "Let's see who they'd rather stay with, Jake. Piper!"
"This isn't a discussion."
"Piper, get your ass down here!"
Piper comes around the door arch slowly. "What's going on?" She asks timidly. She comes to stand next to me.
"Your dad is kicking me out, baby." Mom puts on her nurturing voice. "And we need to figure out where you and Henry will stay. Now don't you wanna stay with momma?"
Piper's eyebrows raise and she looks at Dad. "Really?" She takes another look at Mom.
"Who do you want to live with?!" Mom asks Piper pointedly. Her eyes never met Piper's due to them crossing and closing. "Who do you love more?"
"Kris, do not ask her that!" Dad raises his voice, which he never does to Mom. He puts his hand out to Piper. "You don't have to answer that."
"She's a big girl, Jake. She can speak!" Mom swings her arms motion to her daughter.
I step between Mom and Piper. "Mom, I-"
"Dad," Piper whispers.
"What?" Venom almost leaks from her mouth and her brown eyes almost look red. She takes a step towards Piper, stepping on her untied shoelace. "What?!"
"I'm-" Piper's terrified eyes find mine. I put my hand on her shoulder.
"We're staying with Dad." I say lowly.
"You little-" Mom steps out with her hand drawn back. Before I can move Piper out of the way, her mouth forms an 'o' and she falls, tripping on her shoelaces.
Dad rushes to her, grabbing underneath her arms. "Kris, are-"
Mom pushes him away. "Get off!" Her voice began to be rough and scratchy. Her fire eyes flare at Piper and me.
For a moment the scene reminds of Charlotte and me. I had done the same thing. I pushed her away. Forcing myself to stay on track, I try to remind myself I'm not my mother.
I take a hesitant step to Mom. "This-It doesn't mean we don't love you. But you need to get better." I reach a shaking hand out.
She smacks me away. "You're ungrateful!" She pushes herself up using the coffee table. She sways while yelling. "Who do you think you are? I pick out your clothes! I gave you life! Who do you think picked the best school in the county? Me! I chose the house! I gave you what you have!"
Piper scoffs. Her hands in white knuckled fists. "That doesn't matter when you're a shit parent! You could give me forty PearPhones but it wouldn't matter because...You're. Not. Here. You think you know your husband and children. You don't!"
"Sweetheart," Dad's voice is very small.
Big tears swim down Piper's face. "Did you know I got second place in the science fair? Did you know Henry got straight As? Dad's here! Dad shows us he cares."
Before anything else can be said, Mom starts to cry. A heavy cry I've seen many times. Its the cry when drunks are faced with too many truths. Her shoulders begin to shake and snot comes out of her nose. She's looking at Piper and me. I know she's expecting Piper to apologize. When she doesn't she starts crying harder and looks at me. But I've grown such a disdain and disconnect from my Mother that I can't feel for her tears.
Dad steps forward and sits beside her. He quietly pats her back.
I take Piper's hand and walk out the front door. Without speaking we get into my car. Slowly I back out onto the street.
"I'm not sorry for what I said." Piper says.
"You shouldn't be. She needed to hear something real from us."
After that Piper and I drove around Swellview, talking about school and everything but Mom. She told me about a boy she was starting to like and how she thinks he likes her too. I embarrassingly tried to give her the talk but she wasn't having any of it. She plugged her ears and yelled "la la la" until I laughed and changed the subject.
"Hey, your phone's vibrating." Piper says handing me it, she'd been switching songs. "Charlotte's calling."
I grab the phone and put the device to my ear. "Hey, what's up?"
"Ray wants you here now. There's been another kidnapping. The guy got two young kids this time."
Trying to remain as calm as I could, I said goodbye and hung up the phone. My heart raced and sweat began to bead up on my forehead. How young are they?
"Piper, you mind waiting in Junk'n'Stuf while I go talk to Ray?"
She shrugs. "It's cool. I just hope Jasper doesn't try to talk to me."

ikevamp please~?\ (•◡•) /
i realised i never requested an actual ikevamp match-up, so imma throw this in here if you don’t mind, please and thank you~.
heterosexual gemini female, isfp, slytherin & chaotic neutral. my style is edgy, but leaning towards casual, too. i like interesting details and aesthetics!
many people say that my initial vibe is pretty intimidating, or at least reserved and mysterious. though, around my friends i am more relaxed and chill, and love to laugh and crack jokes! i also tease a lot~.
but i am, in fact, a reserved person — it takes me a lot of time to open up about my honest feelings and to trust someone. that makes me quite a hermit; i’m on good or neutral terms with many people, but i have just a handful of friends i consider close.
i can be lazy and uninterested, but when something piques my interest or when i’m challenged, i can be a very, very stubborn one! i’m opinionated, but i always try to see a bigger picture and imagine the story from different angles — in that way, i consider myself a very realistic person. i used to be more confrontational in the past, and these days i’m more passive. i try to be tolerant, but i can also get annoyed and irritated easily. i am a ‘forgive but don’t forget’ type of person.
i’m extremely curious and have wide palette of interests, some of which are medicine, botany, arts, astronomy, astrology, and such. i love to explore and learn, and i like activities like hiking. spiritual topics are also my thing, and i simply love to think and wonder. i may like to bake, but the domestic jobs in general aren’t my jam. i also get bored very easily!
i like to be helpful, and my self-worth is defined by being useful or making other smile, so i like giving gifts to my friends, even if it’s just buying them their favourite chocolate bar or so. that ‘giving’ trait of mine is not quite well known, though, and i suppose that it is because of my initial personality that people consider me rather selfish and self-centred instead.
my love language is definitely physical touch, along with giving gifts or acts of service. i’m pretty much touch starved — i will kiss, hug, even bite someone shamelessly and out of endearment ( i can be the tough love kind ). i can also have a bit darker tendencies, but generally i simply crave intimacy. in those terms, i’m more of a 'actions speak louder than words’ person, as i find it embarrassing and shallow to say 'i love you’ often or too soon. i will be poetically affectionate, though.
i do not act affectionate in front of people, though, so if you ask most of my classmates, you’ll probably hear about how they think that i must despise anything to do with contact and lovey stuff.
in terms of romantic interests and relationships, i’m someone who appreciates communication, trust and intellectual bond along with the physical one. i’m also not a fan of people who are uncertain in terms of their feelings or are unstable or unreliable as partners.
Hi hi, dear! Thank you so much for the request! ❤❤🌻Sorry for taking sooooooo long with this!😳❤ I hope you enjoy this love and I hope you have the best day!😊🔥 Hehe TBH I was between 2 of the vampy bios, but then I finally made up my mind and decided on……
So I match you with……..Vincent
Tumblr media
The first time this angel sees you, he took an instant liking to you, he could see past that cold, intimidating exterior of yours and straight into the depths of your soul and boy did he want to befriend you. He was the first one to break the ice among the men to introduce himself to you. You were super reserved, so you didn’t say very much that first night with all the vampy bois. When you had left to retire for the night, Theo couldn’t help but loudly state what everyone was thinking, and that was that you were crazy intimidating. Vincent stared up at his brother confused he definitely didn’t get any intimidating vibes from you, if anything he found himself drawn to your mysterious reserved vibe.
The next morning you made your way to the dining room to help with breakfast. You loved to bake, so when Sabastian tasked you with making the van Gogh’s pancakes you were over the moon. You made a hefty stack of pancakes placed it down in front of the two Dutch brothers. They eagerly loaded up their plated munching down on the stack, to say Vincent was in love would be an understatement. Those were truly the best pancakes he had ever eaten in his whole life. The blond man stuffed his face with the light and airy pancakes. He low key looked like a cute chipmunk with the way he eagerly chomped down every last pancake on his plate. You sat down beside them and smiled at a job well down. Once the stack vanished, Vincent beamed his sunshine smile at you and asked if you would make him pancakes again sometime, cause they were honestly just so good. Even Theo chimed in giving you a compliment in his own way.
You helped Sabastian out with the housework, but honestly, you were getting bored you never really liked doing too many domestic work type tasks. As you cleaned,  you wandered into a bright room filled to the brim with painting and art supplies. You couldn’t help but marvel at the gorgeous painting hung on the wall. It was just filled with so much emotion and seemed to come, alive telling a story of wonder and hidden beauty. You were awakened out of your reverie by a soft voice, “are you also a fellow lover of the arts.” You gave Vincent a small smile and nod. Vincent then told you that he was on his way with Napoleon to give an Art class to his students and invited you along with him.
You spent the afternoon with Vincent painting and honestly having the best time with the children. It wasn’t an art class as much as a fun time painting and letting your imagination flow onto the canvas.
You honestly loved helping out at this little makeshift school that Napoleon had started. Since that first day, you had been going with Vincent more and more, to help out and teach the children some cool new skills. You loved helping people and making them happy, and to say that the children loved you would be an understatement. They loved coming to you for help with their work, and would always thank you and give you the biggest hug whenever they finally manage to grasp the concept that they had been struggling to understand. Honestly you loved to make people happy and teaching at this street school was way better than doing housework so it was honestly a win win. Plus you got to spend even more time with Vincent which was always filled with smiles and laughter.
Often after teaching the children, you and Vincent would wander around the streets of Paris just taking in the sights. The two of you actually bonded over your mutual love for aesthetics and whenever the two of you would come across and art exhibition, you wouldn't hesitate to enter. The two of you would spend hours looking at the beautiful pieces, appreciating all the interesting details and emotions the artist managed to convey into the art together. You loved spending time with the ray of sunshine, and you couldn’t help but show your true personality with him. As the two of you would wander around town, you found yourself opening up more and more to Vincent and letting him in.
You felt like you could be yourself with him and Vincent absolutely adored you. He loved the jokes you would crack as the two of you would walk around. He found them hilarious, and whenever the two of you were together, Vincent would always be left in a fit of laughter from some or other the joke that you would crack.
Vincent, of course, is used to being teased by Theo, so it is definitely not uncommon for the angel to tease you a little in return as well. Whenever the two of you are together, the room is always filled with smiles and laughter. It has even gotten to that point where you and the angel have inside jokes and whenever someone in the mansion does or says something, both of you lock eyes and burst out laughing
Vincent loved it when you would help him and Theo set up art exhibitions. Not that you complained you loved being helpful and honestly you would do anything the help Vincent, especially if it meant getting to see that radiant smile of his. The more Vincent spent time with you to more utterly and entirely in love, he fell with you.
He loved that you would occasionally give him small, thoughtful little gifts. Every-time, you presented him with a tiny hand made gift his heart melted into a puddle of goo. Of course, don’t think that Vincent has forgotten about you, as often this angel surprises you with tiny trinkets of his own. You seem to have occupied this sweet angels mind, so he cant help but buy you small little gifts that he sees in the shop windows, especially if they remind him of you. He would legit go to the ends of the earth and back just to see that excited glimmer in your eyes whenever he gives you the smallest of gifts. One of you favorite gifts so far was when he presented you with a single flower of your favorite flower, with a small ribbon and note wrapped around its stem to read, “a flower to remind you of how wonderful you are.”
Since finding out that you have in interest in astronomy and astrology, he actually had Isaac make you your very own telescope. He loves to listen to you go on for hours and hours, explaining the difference between the two and teaching him everything you know about astrology and astronomy. He finds it incredibly fascinating. Since learning that you seem to love the night sky, it is not uncommon for him to lead you out into the garden to an awaiting blanket spread out on the floor, so the two of you can stargaze together. He will definitely in these moments ask you more about astronomy as you watch the glimmering universe above you.
You and Vincent love love love to hike and explore different places together. Its always super fun to explore and find a new beautiful scenery to paint and appreciate. Recently the two of you had discovered a field filled with every type of flower imaginable. You would usually stand beside Vincent and paint. But that day you were not really in the mood to do something artsy, so you just sat on a rock in between the beautiful flowers and just wondered and thought, getting wholly and utterly lost in a daydream. Vincent who had turned around to ask you something, saw you staring off into the distance thinking and he just got completely inspired. He turned his easel around and placed a new blank canvas on the stand and started to paint the blinding scene of you sitting among the flowers and butterflies.
When Vincent was done for the day he covered the painting before gently tapping you on the shoulder so that the two of you could make your way back home. You were incredibly curious about the new painting that Vincent had created, more so when Vincent said that you couldn’t see it yet as it was a surprise.
Finally, Vincent had finished the painting of you. With each stroke of the brush painting you among the beautiful scenery, his feelings for you grew stronger and stronger. Vincent invited you to his room that night to give you the painting, and you were overjoyed when you had read what was inscribes at the bottom, “To my dearest sunflower, I love you with all my heart, forever yours Vincent.” Vincent knew that with you, action always spoke louder than words so, in an attempt to make his feeling painfully clear he walked up close to you, until the two of you were nose to nose. He brought his hands to gently cradle your face, and then slowly leaned down to place a tender kiss on your lips.
Vincent loves you with all his heart. He loves that you have a wide variety of interest and will gladly listen to you talk about them for hours and hours. He will even surprise you with a book on the topic of your newest interest. Love it when you sit in his room and read while he paints. Sometimes when he is done painting for the day, he will sit down behind you and wrap his arms around your waist and rest his chin on your shoulder as you continue to get lost in your studies and thirst for knowledge. Sometimes he will read along with you, and then discuss what he had learned with you when you have had enough of reading for the day. He loves to listen to all your opinions and the new thing you had learned, he is especially intrigued when you talk about spiritual topics and will hang onto every word as you tell him everything you learned
He took you to meet his dear friend Shakespeare once and right off the bat you could tell he was up to no good. You tried to be tolerable and passive, however after spending an hour at his mansion you started getting annoyed and irritated. You were a stubborn realistic person who never judged a book by its cover and always strived to see the bigger picture, so you decided not to judge Shakespeare on face value. However, when the day came for the door to open to send you back home, Shakespeare appeared and decided to dictate his own romantic tragedy between you and Vincent.
You could see the story from his angle and perspective and you could also see where he was coming from, but you were definitely not going to passively sit back and let him tear you apart from Vincent.
You had never seen Vincent angry before until that day. Vincent managed to take down Shakespeare and disarm him from the gun he was pointing at you, however, in the tussle, Vincent had been shot twice. Theo had managed to restrain Shakespeare, and you were never more thankful in your life for medical knowledge than at that moment. You and Arthur managed to patch Vincent up and thanks to his vampiric abilities he was recovering quickly.
You had to laugh as during the whole saga between you and Shakespeare, Shakespeare had accused you of not loving his friend as during the whole visit you weren’t acting even the slighted bit affectionate towards Vincent. In fact, at first, Theo accused you of the same thing, however soon Theo realized that you were more private with your display of affection and welcomed you to his family with open arms.
You and Vincent both share the love language of physical touch and act of service. The two of you have an incredibly open, honest relationships based on communication and trust. It isn’t uncommon for you to sit on Vincent’s lap as the two of you talk about all sorts of random topics for hours and hours as he strokes your hair.
Vincent loves to shower you in sweet kisses and warm, comforting hugs. He can’t imagine anything better in the world than to just have you in his arms while he kisses you breathless for hours and hours. Beware as this angel like you, will bite.
Vincent’s favourite is to just shower your face in sweet little kisses. He will legit start by kissing the top of your head and then make his way down to your forehead, then both your eyelids, your nose and then finally your lips.
It’s through these sweet kisses that the two of you often communicate just how much you love each other, no words needed just action.
Other potential matches………….. Shakespeare
I hope you enjoyed this love! And I hope you have the best day! 🌻❤😊🔥@oikame

What am I doing, today?
No seriously, I find myself needing to ask this question, because I seem to have lost my motivation for one project in favor of another.
Yesterday, I hung out all afternoon, into the evening with a friend who is a mother, and we had the same discussion I had the other day with my sister: They both have very little, and had to shed a lot moving around. They want to keep the kinds of things they lost, for their children. For both of them, they believe physical photos, scrapbooks, are important for holding on to memories.
Myself, I know that scrapbooking or smashbooking has always been outside of my realm. A small part of it is that the cost of entry into these hobbies is too high and they take up too much space. Like, imagine how much space like, five rolls of washi tape, five packs of fancy paper, and then all the fancy stickers and pens and then you have to hold on to all this memorabilia, unless you’re just the type to do that, and where do you put that where your papers won’t get dirty or wrinkled? I’m just not the type. But conversely, have you ever looked through one of those photo albums that’s literally just pockets for the photos, and maybe somebody scribbled something on the back of the photo, so you have to either pull the photo out, or all the pages are one-sided.
At the same time, I love hand-writing. When I crack open a jar of Best Handwriting, it really elevates everything.
One heirloom I’ve always lusted after has been a hand-made cookbook. Sometimes I like to enjoy food. I’m very easily bored and annoyed with the same, hotdogs, burgers, spaghetti, pizza, lasagna; at the same time, if I’m going to be in the kitchen, I want to make too much food (I love leftovers) and play with my food. I love those rare occasions when food is more than just something that goes in your mouth, but a meal really becomes an event, an affair of the eyes as much as the stomach, and you’re looking at those beautifully plated noodles decked out with lovely bright vegetable colors and the smell that fills the air goes straight into your soul.
I want to explore and experiment and reimagine food, but personally, I need a little boost, and a cookbook would be just the thing. Plus, I can’t wait to put my van together because I can’t wait to cook profusely. I can’t wait to try new foods and new meal ideas. I’m really excited about it. I love cooking for myself, as opposed to buying fastfood or processed meals.
I think the scrapbook for me is actually a cookbook, or recipe book.
And the scrapbook for me is something I can go back and add to and reimagine and reorganize. I’m not a frilly person, I’m not a flashy creator.
At first, I was thinking very inside the box. Index cards and 4x6 photos of each dish. Then I was copying out the method for rolling an artisanal baguette, and I realized some recipes are going to have these techniques that take a little more space, so maybe an index card isn’t the answer.
Nowadays, paper producers make binder filler paper that won’t rip at the ring holes, or you can add your own reinforcement. Nicer paper will be acid-free, which means if you wanted to use gel pens (which are also acid-free), your pages will be pretty for decades to come.
But I don’t just want something that’s pretty. I need something that is functional. If kitchens (okay, maybe not yours, but definitely mine) are one thing, they are messy, with flour and sugar and oil and water and all manner of goos and staining things. Enter the great advent of plastic!
Staples will laminate your documents! So your photos and carefully handwritten recipes will remain beautiful for decades to come. And because the style of scrapbook I obviously have in mind is customizable to no end, I could do something like, make two photo-index card recipe cards on one page, and do a full-page recipe on the next page.
Then later on, when I start my family, or bring my recipes to get-togethers, we can do stuff like take pictures of the kids making them and write letters and reviews and journal entries.
That sounds like my kind of scrapbook. And the fun thing is:
When the binder wears out, it can be replaced instead of having to shelve the whole thing, or I can make copies of anything for family members. Notes for altering the recipe can be added. Pretty much anything. And the cookbook will expand to fit, and can be reorganized to break down by ingredient or by any genre--Italian, Irish, American; soup, stew, bread; sweet, spicy, savory; Christmas, fourth of July, Easter, or even who invented or contributed.
So now instead of working on the futon, I’m busy collecting recipes that I like already (like Domino’s stuffed garlic bread and oatmeal cookies).
And that’s when I remember that I have a whole blog dedicated to quickly dumping recipes I find across the internet, for that someday-when, when I cook them for myself, or finally copy them for a recipe book.....

weird dream: spiderman was trying to escape someone idk and ended up in a band class being directed by hannibal lecter in a mustache (i say hannibal and not mads bc i knew in my heart it was hannibal at that moment in the dream) and spiderman picks up a accordion so he doesnt look like the odd one in and he played his parts perfectly. after the class hannibal walked over to spiderman, put his hand down on his shoulder, and told him he’d love for him to join the band now in my dreams i usually stay on the same topic, which was spiderman being the accordian player in hannibal’s band, but my brain decided to transition to a different place in this same time era, and that was two kids bored in detention. weird thing: their detention was located in a ward for the most dangerous criminals, which for some reason was located right by their school, which was connected via parking lot.  so the kids notice their supervisor walking away to go do whatever thee fuck supervisors do, and they took off. they decided to go investigate the most dangerous criminals. they looked through the slots at all of them, making jokes and whatever, before they get to the cell labelled hannibal lector. they noticed he wasnt in the room, so they somehow unlocked the door, and started investigating around the room. in doing so they found a piece of cloth covering this huge-ass hole, which went real far down into the earth, so far down they couldn’t see the end of it.  a little cut in my dream shows me hannibal in his prison uniform digging this hole with a plastic spoon and a plastic fork. back to the present, the supervisor grabs these two kids, however hannibal lector also grabs these two kids.  ‘naughty children shouldn’t go poking around other people’s homes’ is what he said. or something like that.
turns out hannibal lector is the supervisor, and he’s just wearing a mustache. he broke out of his cell and got a job as a band director and as a supervisor for detention. i have no idea how but he’s hannibal so i guess he had a way. the dream cuts and it seems the person watching the security cameras has figured out that hannibal lector isnt in his cell anymore, and calls for all the supervisors to go investigate. the kids hold onto two of their supervisors, one of whom appears to be jefferson davis, and tell them not to go investigate with the others, and that they dont want them to be ‘marked’ jefferson raises an eyebrow at this, but listens to the kids. a montage of the supervisors investigating hannibal’s cell, where they look into the hole, and go ‘oh thats a fuckin big hole the fuck?’ and supervisor hannibal goes ‘funny.’ and then kills all the supervisors in that room. he kills them all in weird ways, and eventual takes an eye from one, a tongue from another, an ear, a foot, and a hand.  its at this point that alarms are going red and all the kids from detention come running to hannibal’s room, where they accept the gifts he gives them. all the kids from detention were missing something, such as an eye, tongue, ear, foot, and a hand. they magically fuse onto their bodies? anyways hannibal and the kids escape into the parking lot, where they locate a big van, a la soccer mom style. him and the kids get the fuck out of there, and on the way they pick up the rest of the band, including spiderman whose still wearing his spidey suit. note: i have no idea which spiderman this is. at first it was tom’s, however it could be any spider at this point.  my dream gets fuzzy at this point because my cat was sneezing into my face and trying to wake me up. i managed to ignore her and go back to sleep. while im watching them do this cop escape scene, the cops not wanting to shoot the van, i say in my head ‘i wish will graham was here.’ and then realize he can be! because this is my dream! so. spiderman unmasks and it’s will graham, releasing a gasp from everyone and hannibal going ‘fuck’ because this is season 2 will graham, who wants him dead sometimes and wants him to marry him the other times. will looks at hannibal, andt hen at the kids. “we have to adopt all of them. and the whole orphanage, or the cops will never stop chasing after us.” will says “we?” hannibal replies back, dodging a massive hole in the ground “yes.” my dream fuzzes again because my cat is getting angrier that im not waking up, and spits in my face a bit. i realize that my cat is going to keep doing this and i need to wake up soon, but i want to continue my dream. so a montage it is. a montage of hannibal and will adopting a lot of kids, just a bunch of them, because for some reason the cops cant arrest them and send them to jail if they have this many kids?  anyways they find this little castle they live in and start to build out their territory, creating a beautiful kingdom, and hannibal goes ‘i must get something amazing for will’ and so he digs another hole/cave this time going under another kingdom which has this rare emerald that is a dark green and flashes to a deep red in the right sunlight. he manages to steal these emeralds, out of a well, from the king of this land, and returns to his holecave, when we hear the king go ‘NO!’ my cat once again tries to wake me up, causing the dream to fuzzy and go to a different time this time, hannibal and will arent here, instead its one of their sons whose become the king, and his wife that he married from somewhere the king is playing a game with his children where they avoid the spooky ghost lady, and try to find all the notes. only problem is that the king recognizes the spooky ghost lady to be a grown up version of his lost first born daughter, who has disappeared from her bed one morning. he figures out a way to save her, causing the black goo to fall off of her and for her to be revealed. she is quiet, but tears are still going down her face.  the king, over-excited about his daughter being alive, takes her back to the castle, but along the way he notices two cords on the ground, in a nature traily place, and follows them, to find an old corpse on the ground, with a noose around his throat, and a empty noose beside him. his daughter then speaks up. “‘i love her. she is the most perfect being on this planet and i would kill anyone if they tried to hurt her. i shall steal her from her bed, so that we can be one together.’ then he took me out here and hung both of us. but, a princess cannot die, so i just suffered for years instead. kids using me as a fun late-night game. until you saved me father.” and then they cry and the dream fastforwards again. this time its a prom? prom night? whatever. and the princess is talking with one of her siblings. they’re talking about who they’re going to dance with or whatever, when one of them gets a magical ping, and sees troops outside the city walls. they quickly alert the kingdom of the incoming battle a cut again, my cat is wanting me awake real bad, and this time i see a car. the car is a black fancy breed of car, and inside is three people. one a bouncer, another a noble british lady which you can tell by her tall powdered wig and her white face makeup, and the third is a young prince, who is sick and keeps complaining about a headache. the car pulls up to the wreakage of the city’s gate, where there’s dust and rocks everywhere, and we see the princess come out of the wreakage, and wave her hands. she’s wearing some sorta biker getup, but without a helmet. the car stops, and the bouncer rolls down the window “hey, are you okay?” asks the bouncer “like, no! i just want to go home. my boyfriend should be back where you came from.” the princess gets into the car, the bouncer having invited her in. “Alright. lets go find your boyfriend.” the bouncer backs the car up and turns around, heading back the way they went. “whats your name?” asks the prince “almara.” replies the princess “almara. that sounds familiar?” the prince scratches his head. “it should. this is a hostage situation.” almara pulls up her magic, placing it at the young prince’s head. “oh fuck!” scrreches the british lady “its okay guys, ive been in a hostage situation before. we will all make it out of this if we jhust listen to the princess.” almara has them turn the car back round, and has them drive it to the castle, where she gets out with only the young prince, and takes him to her father. “why?” is all her father asks of the prince “to get back the crystals your fathers stole from my father!” cries the young prince. my dream fuzzes again, and this time i get a little scene. the king and one of his kids, are looking at the crystals in a well.  ‘can we show mom?” asks one of them “no, she’d have a heartattack.” the king pulls out a straw, which contains a crystal a tip of the crystal is eaten. the scene changes back its weird because my cat is really mad at this point, and so i cant really described what happened that well. apparently the king gave the young prince some lip, and then hannibal and will appeared, dressed to the nines in fancy king clothes, and tell the young prince to fuck off and that they never stole the crystals. the prince screams as the pain in his head starts banging against his skull. the dream end. my cats are hungry and pissed at me for sleeping. i fed them and they are happy again.

The Divine Zero: Chapter 1
I’m in Klance hell and cannot stop thinking about them SORRY this whole thing will just be lots of angst and pining and TEARS
AoO: The Divine Zero
Summary: In which Keith can play the piano and it FUCKS UP Lance’s life
Chapter summary: Love is stupid and painful, and Keith hates it. He hates feeling this way, weak and pathetic. And for Lance of all people.
Word count: 2912
Keith
Keith doesn’t know why Lance hates him so much. Not that he had debated it when Lance declared and demanded that they were rivals. He doesn’t care, so he didn’t fight it. He’s sure the other boy has a good reason to hate him, and sometimes, late at night, Keith will catch himself feeling guilty for whatever he had done to make the blue paladin hate him so passionately. He knows it has something to do with their time in the same class at the Garrison, but Keith can barely remember the time between Shiro going missing and then finding him again. He could lie and say that he barely remembers Lance from school, but he won’t. He remembers tan skin in beautiful contrast with the orange space suit, bright, excited blue eyes and a loud persona. He doesn’t remember what he did to piss him off, but most of the time, he doesn’t care either.
Lance
Lance feels his body groan and ache, and in the back of his mind, he feels Blue purr, trying to calm him. He’s been working out on the training deck for hours with Shiro and Hunk, working on their shooting. Lance is an excellent shot. That is what he’s good at. Not much else, but he’s glad his one talent is something that keeps his friends and him alive. That being said, Shiro kept pushing. Every time he or Hunk got confident he would up the level, and Lance is tired.
Therefore, after the others has gone to bed, he starts making his way towards the showers. The castle is huge, with hidden rooms and hallways, and if it hadn’t been for his perfect sense of direction, Lance would get so lost, he would probably grow old in a secret hallway on the second floor. He heads towards a shower room he found last month while exploring the castle. A shower room with a huge bathtub that Lance could live in, if he had the time to do such. As he walks, he listens to the groaning and creaking of the ship, machinery working loudly inside the walls. He’s almost by the shower room, when he hears a familiar sound. Soft and sharp noises mixing perfectly, so faint, Lance has to stop his breathing to hear it properly. Creeping towards the sound, he follows an unfamiliar route towards a part of the ship he has yet to explore. The sound gets louder and louder with each step of Lance’s bare feet against the metal floor, and his heart fills with a warmth that spreads across his body. Music. He finally find the room where the music is coming from, leaning against the doorway to take it in. It’s a huge room, with a tall bowed roof and no windows. The room is cluttered with a bunch of weird looking devices, which Lance only can imagine as Altean musical instruments. In the center of the room, his eyes find a familiar instrument, a black and sleek piano. And on the stool, with his head hung and eyes closed, sits Keith.
Lance doesn’t know what to do for a while, because the music feels so private, so intense, he almost turns and flees the scene. Then he recognize the song, and he feels himself gasp. The notes of the piano are dark and rough, but at the same time light and soft, with sharp edges and a painful sound. Suddenly he sees himself in the living room at his home back on earth, five years old again and watching his mother sew. She’s bright and wonderful, and Lance thinks she is the most beautiful woman ever. The warm and safe place of Lance’s childhood home is filled with a beautiful ballade being played from a pair of speakers. She smiles down at him, with so much love in her eyes, Lance feels a lump in his throat and he wants to cry. He wants reach out and touch her, feel her warmth against his skin and listen to her soft voice. Moonlight Sonata by Ludwig van Bethoven. “This song describes everything beautiful in this world without using words, mi hijo, remember that” Then he’s back in the dark room, watching Keith play a song that holds so many memories and emotions for Lance, and before he knows it, he’s crying. Big fat tears roll down his cheeks as he stares, mesmerized, at the black haired boy. He feels so pathetic, but the music is so beautiful, he can’t help it.
Keith’s eyes are closed in concentration, pale fingers slipping over the keys so effortlessly. His shoulders are relaxed, and there’s a calm on his face, in which Lance has never seen on the boy, and he seems content and happy. He doesn’t look like the Keith he is during the day – tense and stern, never smiling, always scowling or furrowing his brows – and Lance fins himself liking this Keith. This Keith is vulnerable and soft, spilling his feeling over the piano keys and out into the space of the room, and Lance almost feels like an intruder. When the song ends, praises and words of adoration are on the tip of Lance’s tongue, but he knows the Red paladin’s guard will be back up the second he sees Lance, so he keeps them to himself. Lance watches Keith get up from the stool, and panic washes over him as he realizes the other boy is about to leave. As the coward he is, he turns on his heel and sprints down the hall as silently as he masters, running back to the barracks with his tail between his legs. Away from Keith. Away from confrontation. And defiantly away from the warm and painful feeling in his chest.
 Keith
Waking up in the morning has never been a problem for Keith. He doesn’t need much sleep and hasn’t ever had a hard time getting out of bed when he needs to, but now his mind is buzzing and eyelids heavy. He has been sleepier since he discovered the music room,             spending so many late nights there, but he is also more relaxed, less hotheaded. He groans at the sound of Coran’s voice calling his name through the door, announcing breakfast. He gets up and gets dressed, only because he has to, but the warmth of his bunk almost draws him back in a few times before he finally gets the strength to leave the room.
The first thing he notices when he enters the dining room, is the way Lance is looking at him. An unreadable emotion plastered on the brunettes face as he stares at Keith, and he won’t look away, even when Keith stares right back. Lance’s eyes are bright and wide; the skin around them a little darker than normally, indicating he, too, hadn’t gotten much sleep.
“Keith!” Hunk lets out, joyfully, and Keith gives him a strained smile, “Hey, buddy!”
Keith will probably never admit it, but a burst of happiness fills his chest every time the yellow paladin calls him that. Hunk is the only one, besides Shiro and maybe Coran, who never seemed faced by Keith’s unwelcoming façade. It’s nice, being someone’s ‘buddy’.
He sits down next to Hunk, grateful for the other boy’s friendly personality, and starts eating the green goo on the plate in front of him, as the rest of the team goes back to talking about what they had been doing before Keith entered the room. Pidge and Coran are passionately discussing the repairs of the ship, as Hunk listens, but doesn’t contribute to the conversation much due to the food he keeps shoving into his mouth. Lance seems tense, tired, and filled with an emotion Keith can’t quite place. He seems almost uncomfortable, a blush across his tan skin as he grips his spoon so hard his knuckles have turned white with aggravation.
“Keith” Allura’s calm voice brings him back to reality and he turns his attention away from the blue paladin and towards the princess, who eyes him with a strange look on her face, “Your hair is getting quite long”
Keith runs a hand through his hair, almost in reflex, and he realizes his hair has gotten much longer since they left earth almost a year ago. It reaches his collarbones in soft waves in the back, but the front is still shorter and messy, falling into his eyes. It’s even more of a mullet now than it’s ever been, and he finds himself stealing a glance of Lance before he can stop himself.
“If you want to, Coran could cut it for you!” She nods her head towards the older Altean, whom nods excitedly.
“It’s been a while, ten thousand years, since I last cut someone’s hair, but it would be an honor!” Coran fucking bows, and Keith hears Pidge snicker from the other side of the table.
“Maybe, Coran… thanks. I think I’ll keep it long a little while, I’m getting quite fond of it”
“Then I like it too” The princess smiles, the first warm and genuine smile (in a non-near-death situation) he has gotten from her since he discovered he was half Galra, and it makes Keith blush slightly.
Lance chokes on a piece of food goo a few seats over from him, and when Keith looks over, the other boy is fuming. Keith knows that Lance likes Allura. Of course, he likes Allura. With her soft moonshine colored hair, tan and radiant skin, and peculiar eyes of a sapphire and chalcedony mix. Keith knows that the princess is beautiful, beyond words, but he can’t make himself think like that.
Keith never understood romantic attraction. He remembers elementary school, when girls would nag him about who his crush was, but Keith never had a crush. Every feeling he has ever had towards another human (which lets be real, it’s rare he even has any), were platonic or familial. The only two people Keith has ever truly loved is his dad and Shiro. So no, Keith never understood romantic attraction. Not until the first day at the Garrison, when his eyes met a pair of wide blue ones.
It annoys him that Lance, out of all people in the universe, was the first one to ever catch Keith’s attention. And somehow, without knowing it, he had completely screwed it up, and now his first love hates him.
“You should cut it… It makes you look even more pathetic than before!” Lance says, voice shaking slightly.
 Lance
Allura is flirting with Keith. Keith isn’t necessarily flirting back, but he’s blushing. Allura is flirting and Keith is blushing, and blood pumps in Lance’s ears. A painful cold feeling wraps around his heart, and he sees the edges of his vision go blurry. He isn’t quite sure which one of them he is angry at. Maybe both.
“You should cut it… It makes you look even more pathetic than before!” He says it before he can think, words spilling out of his mouth in a desperate attempt to change the mood that Allura and Keith had set around the table. Desperate to end the painful sad throb in his chest, and his eyes go wide as he watches hurt flash over Keith’s face.
It doesn’t look bad. Not even close to it. Keith’s mane of hair frames his face in a way long hair never did for Lance. It curls around his pale face in soft locks, making his sharp features and pretty eyes stand out. Lance has to keep himself from gasping every time he sees Keith now. Because it’s a shock how beautiful he is. Lance always thought the red paladin was breathtaking, ever since he had first seen him at the Garrison, all pale and glorious. However, Keith has grown since then. His muscles are more prominent, after countless hours on the training deck, and he has this healthy glow around him that Lance knows is from having people around him that care about him, and will save him before he cracks. Lance remembers how tired and ruined Keith had looked that night they saved Shiro from the shipwreck. Now, he looks well fed and strong, invincible. He may have been beautiful before, but now he is absolutely gorgeous, and it makes Lance’s knees buckle and his breath hitch.
Hunk gives him a disapproving look, and Keith’s expression is back to a hard, cold stare.
“I mean…” He chokes out, feeling trapped and stupid, and rude, “Isn’t it bothersome when you wear your helmet?” He tries to save his sorry ass, but the once calm mood in the room is gone, and Shiro is staring at him with the same disappointing stare that his father used to use when Lance over spoke.
Keith lets out a dry laugh, “I’ll deal. Thanks…” he says, his voice closed off and cold and Lance wants to cry because the boy he had seen last night, bare and pure, was completely gone. Lance had chased him away, leaving an angry shell of a boy.
Lance hangs his head, brain throbbing, heart pounding, and tries to ignore the sad looks from the other people around the table. The rest of the team are used to Keith and Lance’s bickering, always trying to one-up each other, but Lance was just straight out mean to the red paladin, and the others probably feels a strong surge of protectiveness. Keith is staring down into his plate, one hand playing with a strand of hair with a thoughtful look on his face. Lance doesn’t even know why he said what he said. It must be because he felt jealous of Keith, for getting that kind of attention from Allura. Right? He pushes any other option to the back of his mind, and tries to ignore how hurt and beautiful Keith looks.
 Keith
The training deck becomes Keith’s savior for the rest of the day. Anger and hurt rips through his body the second Lance’s words leave his lips, and through the lion bond, he feels Red roar angrily. He excuses himself shortly after, ignoring Shiro’s pleading look and almost runs to the training deck. His muscles burn painfully, flame flowing through his veins and spreading across his body. Red’s anger fills him until he overflows, letting out a pained scream as he hack loose at the training bots. He doesn’t keep count on the levels he works past, feeling blinded by emotions and the need to let them out before he explodes.
He remembers his time alone in the desert, in the shack. The year without Shiro. All alone. He had been empty, angry, so alone. He wouldn’t deal with this, the sinking feeling in his chest, very well. Now, whenever he feels this way, he’ll let himself loose on the training deck, hacking with his bayard sword until he feels hollow inside. Hollow is better than overflowing.
Pain spreads from his arms to his chest and his lungs burn as he heaves for breaths, but continues to push himself, further and further. Until he feels drained and empty.
“You’ll pass out if you keep going like that…” a voice rips Keith back to reality, and the bot disappears, revealing a smiling Keith. “Please stop,” He adds gently, and Keith retrieves his bayard. Lance is standing in the entryway, shadows casting contours on his tan skin. Keith’s heart beats so hard it hurts, and he’s a little scared he’ll actually faint.
“How long have you been standing there?” He asks, out of breath.
Lance shrugs, “Long enough to be able to tell that you’re in pain… Man, you need to set limits for yourself” Keith laughs dryly, “I mean… one of these days you are going to work yourself to death against a level ten bot, and none of us want that…”
Lance has that same look on his face. The one he had when Keith entered the dining room for breakfast that morning, and it makes Keith’s toes tingle slightly.
“I’m fine, Lance.” Annoyance drips of his words, and the other boy narrows his eyebrows slightly. “Shouldn’t you be off not doing any work somewhere?”
The smile that creeps onto Lance’s face is full of amusement, and he lets out a dark chuckle, “Yeah, probably” He smiles warmly at Keith, and Keith feels like punching him in the face for making his heart feel like it is about to leap out of his chest.
Love is stupid and painful, and Keith hates it. He hates feeling this way, weak and pathetic. And for Lance of all people.
“I wanted to apologize though, for being a dick earlier” Lance scratches the back of his neck, stares at the floor in front of his feet, eyes narrow and lips pursed. He looks like a child, small and embarrassed, and it makes some of Keith’s anger fade away to the back of his mind, where it buzzes comfortably.
“I actually think your hair looks great, and I really really don’t think you’re pathetic, you know that right?” Then a familiar smirk find his face, and his eyes meet Keith’s, “Don’t cut the mullet, dude… It’s the sign of our relationship!” He flails his arms around him.
Keith laughs, a soft chuckle, and it makes Lance’s face light up, “Yeah… Alright” Keith says, and with a last smile, he pushes past Lance and leaves him on the training deck.

Christmas Gift Guide 2018: For Kids
Christmas Gift Guide for kids – a hell of a lot more enjoyable than compiling the men’s gift guide, I can tell you! Although sifting through the tonnes of plastic crap to find nice stuff is a bit of a mission – plastic pots of goo, plastic bags filled with plastic bricks, plastic balls inside plastic ball pits, I started to go a little bit plastic-phobic by the end of my research session…
So I’ve tried to avoid the worst of the plastic (though there were a couple of items that were necessarily plasticky, such as the camera) and I’ve also tried to include ideas for all budgets. As with the men’s guide, many of the things I’ve included are intended to be more of a springboard to other ideas – an introduction to a new brand, perhaps, or a suggestion for a certain type of toy or book.
You can never please everyone – if it’s handmade then sometimes it’s too expensive, if it’s cheap then sometimes it’s not eco-friendly, there are things with free delivery and things that are a pain to get delivered. Items you can buy instore and therefore touch and feel, items that are only online that are more of a punt…
But let’s get started shall we? As with the previous gift guides, please leave your own ideas and suggestions in the comments box below. There have been some great ones!

These very sweet baby leggings are from lovely baby and kids’ store Jojo Mamam Bebe – £10 here*. I have a 15% discount code for Jojo (you will rarely find a code for them, so use it while you can!) – AMR82. It’s valid until the end of 2nd December. jojomamanbebe.co.uk*
I love this magnetic dress-up play set – £11.99 at Amazon here* and have to say that I have something of a soft spot for Scamp & Dude’s beautiful sweatshirt designs, stocked at Liberty here*.
Angelica and Ted have this plastic-free (just about!) Doctor’s set – at £35.60 it’s a lot pricier than many of the sets out there but the pieces are just lovely and they come back to them again and again. I absolutely think that wooden play sets – food, tools, etc – are worth the investment. Find this one from Le Toy Van here*.
More from Le Toy Van; this little tool bench with loads of tools to make noise with and scrape along your kitchen woodwork is £72 here*. And for the retro lovers amongst you, the Sonny Angel special edition Christmas series is out – figures are £7.95 at Retro Kids here.
I’ll be getting this Build a Beetle game for Ted and Angelica, even though Dexter the dog eats just about every single piece of every game we buy. It’s just £4.99 at Amazon here*. And the little wooden car is just gorgeous – I’ve considered buying it for the past couple of years so this is probably the moment! It’s a Budkins toy, £24.95 here*.
In fact, the reason I don’t have the car is that I bought this magnetic rocket instead – Angelica loved snapping the pieces together when she was smaller and, if I could find the bloody propeller, Ted would love doing the same now. It comes in different sizes, starting with the small which is £14 here*.
The cool dinosaur wall decoration is £10 from Sainsburys and the gorgeous rocket wall stickers, which cover quite an expanse of wall, are £45 here*.
Liberty’s pre-packed Christmas stockings are absolutely brilliant. They do a few different options, but each contains items worth far more than the sale price. This one is £75 here*. Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls is fast becoming a cult book buy – it’s £12.80 here* – and this amazing alligator scarf (I’m tempted to buy for myself) is £32 from Spotty Herberts here.
More space adventures with the wonderful Spaceman soft toy from Storklings – £15.99 here – and the PonyCycle, which is a ride-on toy pony that actually moves (sort of) like a pony is £189 at Amazon here* or £179 at Smyths. If you’ve never seen one in action before you have to go and watch the videos, it’s so brilliant!
Each Peach Pear Plum is a bedtime favourite in our house – the hardback is £5.40 here* and the cute wooden book cart is from excellent toy-makers GLTC, here.
These wooden circus skittles are quite dinky but perfect for tiny hands; £16.95 here*, and the Stories for Boys Who Dare to be Different is another cult favourite, £17.99 here*.
The sleeping bag is a fabulous buy if you worry about the winter months and keeping your tiny ones warm; it’s a whopping 3.5 tog and has arms, so if you live in a freezing cold, old house then you know what to do… It’s £35 at Jojo Maman Bebe here* – remember you get 15% off with the code AMR82 until end of 2nd December.
More wood! We have this play food and it gets used every day, time after time – we also had some very cheap plastic stuff and that gets ignored, so I know which one was the sensible buy. This lot is by Melissa and Doug, £15 here*. The sweet little knitted socks are from Frugi, £6 here and the wall-hung advent calendar is a great idea. It can be used year after year and costs £14.99 at H&M here*.
Sorry, a bit of an indulgence; the wooden scooter from Janod is pricey but excellent. It’s actually a balance bike, not just a toddler ride-on, but surely must be the coolest balance bike around? It’s £102 here*.
We have the giraffe: it’s huge. Once we had managed to persuade the kids to stop trying to ride on it (I came in to find Angelica standing on a chair in an attempt to mount its back) it looked very splendid in its corner. Every day giraffe seems to wear a new hat/neckerchief/blanket; it’s the gift that keeps giving and would jazz up any nursery! It’s £67.99 here*.
The Christmas Liberty bib is a posh little gift for a new baby – £15 here*.
Another star buy from GLTC; the Sugar Cube play kitchen is solid, realistic and one of the most attractive toy kitchens I’ve seen. It’s £88 here. This dino lamp from A Lovely Little Company (they do so many gorgeous little lights) is £13 here*.
The Crazy Faces magnetic game is by Janod, £16.95 here* and the camera is one I’m looking to buy Angelica. I’m just finishing off my research because the VTech gets good reviews too, but that one needs 4AA batteries and batteries are the bane of my life. This one by UpGrow, costs £31.99 and has a rechargeable battery. Sounds great to me… It’s here*.
The excellent Snurk duvet set is more than a little pricey, but if you’re after novelty linen then this is the brand to turn to; find it here* online.
Here’s an idea; zone off part of a bedroom (even a living room or study) to create an instant reading nook or hideaway. There’s something incredibly romantic about canopies like this – I’d like one myself! This linen one is £79.99 at H&M here*.
Peter Rabbit looks as though he’s about to be treated in unspeakable ways, here – why’s he bent over double and strapped to two poles? The mind boggles. £15.95 here*.
I love this Red Riding Hood hand puppet set, £19.99 here*, and this wonderful dolls house comes with everything except the figures. It’s £219 at Smallable here. The dino hand puppet is £7 at Sainsbury’s and Stick Man (such a good bedtime story!) is £4.61 at Amazon here*.
Lastly, we have the world’s best ever height chart (it’s a giant, solid oak ruler!), £255 here*, the baby version of the Liberty stocking (couldn’t resist featuring it twice) and the Little Mouse Finger Puppet Book, £4.99 here*.
Quite honestly I could keep on going for days, with this, but I have to do some actual Christmas shopping for myself and I think – hope – that there’s enough here to give you some good ideas. I’ll let you know what I decide with the toddler camera…
