My mother yells from the bathroom in fear and comes out running. "Take it out!" She pleads desperately. "It's in the bathroom, take it out!"

"what is it?" I ask, for it could be a rat, a spider or a ghost.

"it's... it's..." she stutters, still paralyzed by fear. "It's Franz Kafta!"

My dad frowns in confusion, I sigh in disbelief.

"There's a cockroach," I explain, and proceed to take care of him.

Horses are statistically more dangerous than cars. Cars are more dangerous than passanger planes. More people seems to be scared of planes than of horses or cars. ✈

Ah yes, accidentally slipping into one foreign language when a different one is needed. My brain likes to put Spanish into German. Randomly.

And then it forgets said word in English. My native language....

i love the strange reality of being a human person with a human brain. one time someone said something to me in a foreign language (japanese, which i do not speak) and i automatically responded in a different foreign language (spanish, which i do not speak well) and then we both said "what?" in english, an experience made more surreal by the fact that everyone around us was speaking loudly in canadian french (as this occurred in Quebec)

Alien 2: we didn't. They just wandered aboard one day, saying they wanted to "hitch a ride." Then they never left. I think they like it here.

Alien 1: the human distribution system has chosen.

The humans response is to climb higher.
