Human freedom allows us to explore the world and all that is in it. Having free will gives our existence purpose. When that is taken away because of the laws of this world one is rendered vulnerable. It’s because of this one may find themselves disheartened, lost, confused or even hopeless if their actions are not understood. Human freedom should be void of any political, social or even economic interference, sadly this is not the case as many people in all parts of the world are marginalized and ridiculed for simply existing. This is usually due to one’s choice of religion, beliefs, work and practices to an extent of those whose only fault is to be born a woman, homosexual or in the “wrong colour”. Someone once nicely quoted that “The dignity and value of human life should be protected and defended because that’s what describes the nature of human freedom”, these words perfectly sum up for me the real description of life and freedom.

 Every human has rights and these rights should not be dishonored in any way whatsoever. Accordingly, these rights come with responsibilities, hence every individual should practice his or her rights thoughtfully and responsibly so as not to interfere with others rights. Human freedom is the value of life that supports everyone’s dignity and place importance to the right to life, a right that is inborn to every human and should not be denied.

The freedom that you now enjoy is largely only to serve the whims or the desires of the individual, but in a universe full of intelligent life, this is not what freedom means. You must understand what the journey of freedom is all about in the larger universe around you.

Freedom is not about individual happiness. It is about the freedom of your race. It is not about individual pursuits or indulgences. It is about the stability and security of your world. Freedom here is not a right in the universe. It is a great privilege and a great accomplishment that must be earned earnestly and consistently and protected against all challenges.

You cannot have a romantic view of life in the universe if you hope to survive within it. Such is the great sobriety that wisdom brings. Do not have fanciful notions about the value of Contact or what other races can teach you about freedom through their intervention in your world, for that is a fatal error, and a tragic one at that.
