The freedom that you now enjoy is largely only to serve the whims or the desires of the individual, but in a universe full of intelligent life, this is not what freedom means. You must understand what the journey of freedom is all about in the larger universe around you.

Freedom is not about individual happiness. It is about the freedom of your race. It is not about individual pursuits or indulgences. It is about the stability and security of your world. Freedom here is not a right in the universe. It is a great privilege and a great accomplishment that must be earned earnestly and consistently and protected against all challenges.

You cannot have a romantic view of life in the universe if you hope to survive within it. Such is the great sobriety that wisdom brings. Do not have fanciful notions about the value of Contact or what other races can teach you about freedom through their intervention in your world, for that is a fatal error, and a tragic one at that.

Part one: i understand human freedom to be...

Human freedom in its perfect nature is the right that all human being have- to choose, act and speak without judgement or condemnation from another, with this freedom comes a responsibility to every human to be considerate for the other in exercising that freedom.

In other words the most important concern of human freedom is responsibility.  Since everything that one does is ultimately because one chooses to do so, you cannot but accept the consequences of your actions as your fault. Therefore human freedom is not only the ability to make choices, but the requirement that one decides all their actions and the responsibility one has for all of his actions.

I understand human freedom to be having “free will”. We are created without  meaning of life, as we live we grow and get to know and want certain things, all of us guided and understanding things differently. I believe that our actions are entirely ours to control and that we are responsible for them because of the free will we all have, given to us by God or whatever spirit one believes guides their inner being.
