"Congratulations, you've been adopted!"

You blinked, slowly, trying to process the words you'd just heard. You were a grown adult with a living set of parents. What exactly was going on?

The agent rushed you in his office, handing you the stack of documents. You’d been given away to a generous monster patron.

Your attempts to protest were cheerfully dismissed, as he guided your hand for signature after signature; then, he nonchalantly ushered you back outside, where an enormous beast was waiting for you.

Dear Lord, you thought, were you being trafficked? Purchased as some sort of sex slave at the mercy of this creature’s depraved needs? Or maybe he was looking for the main fresh ingredient to finish his dinner stew.

Nonetheless, you stepped hesitantly inside the monster’s home, eyeing his figure with suspicion. Truly a fiend from Hell, you concluded at the time.

The main desk was covered in piles of fabric. Buried underneath was an older sewing machine. From the walls clung hangers and fancy garments that seemed to be made for inhuman wearers.

In truth - you soon learned - you’d been tasked to act as the emotional support human to the poor creature. He was a famous seamster, you see, but he was cripplingly shy and deplorably anxious around other monsters.

Thus, you now find yourself smiling and nodding at the latest client, holding your owner’s enormous hand reassuringly. It’s alright, you’ll do the talking. He grins at you, exhaling in relief. Thank God you’re here. His little human to soothe the aching heart.

Good reveal au, where after learning phantom's identity and realizing the atrocities that the GIW have committed (or alternatively, ethical science au, where they find out the GIW plagarized them), the fenton parents decided to create the 'ultimate ghost-ending weapon' and sell it to the agents.

They go absolutely overboard, describing to the agents in meticulous detail how it evaporates any ghost it hits near-instantly and describing it quite ruthlessly in the blueprints, and soon the GIW have raplaced all their main weapons with the new gun.

Except it doesn't actually kill ghosts. It's the Fenton Bazooka. You know, the one that creates a portable portal to suck the ghost back into the ghost zone? What they actually did was retool it slightly to make it look more grusome than it actually is. They even added a beacon in Phantom's Keep, which all Fenton Bazookas will target when they open a portal, so the ghosts are always delivered to the keep.

From there, Phantom stationed an emergency medical team at the keep to treat the many injured and ragged ghosts that the GIW 'destroyed,' and to explain what just happened.

What they didn't anticipate was that now that the GIW have a mass-produced weapon that they believed would effectively eradicate ghosts, they would go on the offensive. They have a number of cities they've been monitoring but didn't want to get involved in without better tools.

One of those cities is Gotham.

And the Bats are ectocontaminated enough to register as ghosts.

Batman witnessed several of his children get evaporated by green energy weapons within mere moments of each other. He's absolutely gutted. Devastated. They didn’t even stand a chance.

He'll get his revenge, and it's frighteningly easy to track the weapon to private subcontractors. The Doctors Fenton, in Illinois. Their research calls for the genocide of all ghost kind, and apparently, that war started by killing his own children.

His children will not die in vain.

He gets to Amity Park and finds the Engineer's Nightmare of a building that is Fentonworks, but that night, before he can hack through the security and break in, one of the windows opens.

It's one of his kids that he had watched evaporate before his very eyes. They give him a silent signal of one of their identifying security codes and gesture for him to come inside.

Is it a trap? A prank in poor taste? Utterly genuine?

He goes through the window.

All of his dead kids are there, wearing borrowed pajamas and only their dominoes to conceal their identities. Daniel Fenton (son of the Fentons, this is his bedroom, has voiced a few arguments against his parent's views, but still an unknown) is among the crowd of teens and young adults, twirling on an office chair and obnoxiously sipping a capri sun.

"First thing you need to know, Bats," Daniel says after finishing his drink, "is that my parents are absolutely NOT genocidal ectophobic scumbags, and that is the reason why your kids are still alive."

Human au where the friend split is niko-edwin charles-crystal are great but concider niko-charles and crystal-edwin human friendships...

Niko and charles are high school friends (maybe they even dated before Niko came out) who watch movies together. Charles even plays his music while Niko reads sometimes. She comes to his sports games (cus you know he's not just on one team) and they listen to chappel roan and get ice cream after.

Crystal and Edwin are begrudging besties. They worked at the same place or their rich parents were friends and the forced proximity and bitchy attitudes bonded them forever. They go shopping and complain over brunch at some fancy restaurant and they both get wildly offended when people suggest they're dating.

Just a lazy aftenoon

My brainrot today is thinking about just how incredible for a character Eowyn is.

Genuinely. The series might not have many female characters but the ones we do get go so fucking hard.

To me, Eowyn is literally the definition of defining being a woman for oneself. She rejects the roles she is given despite acknlowdging the importance and its mostly because she knows part of the reason is that she is a woman.

The reason why she is obsessed with Aragorn isn't because she loves him but because she wants what he has. She wants the freedom and courage and bravery that Aragorn has at every turn. She literally has multiple conversations during the Two Towers about how what she fears most is a cage. All this girl wants is the freedom to be and not be forced into a role. The best thing is that she literally gets that.

The segment of Return of the King about Eowyn and Faramir is literally about her piecing together what she truly wants. She doesn't want Aragorn. She wants freedom and the ability to choose. Faramir does nothing but encourage that in her. Their love story is literally one of the healthiest love stories I've seen in a long time because at the heart of it, their love is a place to return home to for both parties. Both go off to lead and help their people for a considerable amount of time before returning to each other but that does not diminish their bond. Even Faramir, I believe, falls in love with her bravery and dedication to her loved ones. The reason she went to Pelenor Fields and Gondor with the troops of Rohan was because she had things she wanted to fight for. She wanted to fight for herself, her people, and her loved ones. She is the one who protects Theoden after he is killed so that his body gets the treatment it deserves. She encourages Merry and helps him go to the battle because she sees her struggle in Merry. They feel helpless standing around when there are things to be doing.

Let's also not forget the fact that she was around Grima Wormtounge just as much as the King was. She was exposed to the same poison and awful words that eroded the king. It's even implied that her care for him is part of the reason why Theoden was savable when Gandalf showed up. She had the same power and bravery as everyone else even if she didn't see it in herself.

Then at the end of the day, SHE decides where she wants to go and what path she wants to walk. She walked the path of a warrior. The path of a princess/ruler. The path of a caretaker. But in the end she decides which elements truly mean something to her outside of gender definitions. That is what makes her character so incredible to me. In this she literally kills one of the biggest enemies in that battle with such a badass line.

little chuuya is absolutely devastating and i can’t help but make it worse by noticing that throughout this entire exchange he remains faceless. he has no real identity of his own he’s being defined by the people around him

and this is paralleled in the scene where he talks to dazai directly after the flashback. we still never see his face

until he sees dazais face. and stands up

and we see his face

thinking about how the (greek) big three swore to never sire any more demigod children because those children are just too powerful (dangerous) and also thinking about how the characters that, arguably, seem to have the greatest proclivity for cruelty in the name of justice or vengeance are also the (greek) big three children... there's something there, a connection to be made I'm sure of it

concept: ADA!Chuuya, but All Men Are Equal gave him total control of his ability by stabilizing it and getting rid of his permanent singularity, so he reverted to his original power: enhancing others' abilities.

i love how dead boy detectives presents such a diverse mix of the campiest, most over-the-top tv characters of all time, and the best representation of actual real-life human beings i think i have ever seen on television

This is the devil’s hole pupfish! A tiny species that lives only in One water-filled limestone cavern in Nevada. It was one of the first animals on the endangered species list. At the last count in 2022 there were 263 pupfish observed - the most in 19 years! They’re tracked pretty carefully, as their 215 square foot habitat (the smallest of any know vertebrate) is fragile and has been disturbed in the past by groundwater extraction and other human interference.

On the topic of Human Adoption Agency tomfoolery...

Being adopted by a giant, monstrous creature who awakens ancient terrors from the depths of your soul the moment your earthly eyes lay on him.

He takes you down dark corridors and spiraling staircases seemingly descending into hellish unknowns. Good Lord, what will become of you?

You finally reach some tall, imposing gates, and they open to reveal a modern, luxurious kitchen. Your nostrils are invaded by a sweet scent of vanilla and almonds. As you walk inside, you notice the many frames adorning the walls: certificates, awards, medals. It seems your new owner is a famous pastry chef.

The unholy beast hands you a box of cooking utensils, and asks you to try them. You hesitantly take out a piping bag, and pretend to use it above the counter.

"Finally," he exhales, in a visibly better mood. "These damn macarons are too refined for my claws."

He opens his enormous hands to prove his point. You nod sympathetically.

"Put on an apron. Once we're finished, I'll bake your favorite dessert. How's that for a deal?"

You glance at the monster one more time. Not as bad as you initially thought. Maybe there's other ways in which he can pay you.

Amidst all the prussia angst, i like to think that modern day prussia is the equivalent of a tired old man who just got retired. Like he wakes up mid day, goes to bed late at night. He spends his days in the garden, or at the park, or some new class he signed up online. Revisits all the places he hasnt gone for a while or hobbies he stopped because of work.

And as he does all of these you can hear in the background the stressed screeching from germany, or the nonstop stream of complaints from spain and france, or the groans from the nation hes visiting. He just sips his beer, and yep, heard that, been thru that; sorrows, prayers. He does not miss the stress of being/working as a nation.

And when some reps from germanys bosses come to prussia to ask his help/insights on some stuff, hes like beats me, idk what to do with that, hey do u know whats the four letter word for rooster?

Idk i just like the idea of prussia (literally) living the rest of his days in comfort and fun. Like hes done so much in his life, and while hes technically dissolved, it wasnt all that bad, u know?

And honestly, given how hes been thru literal centuries, lazing around in his younger brother's house for the rest of his life isnt the worse way to go
