"Human Resources" is a workplace comedy series that follows a fictional company's HR department as they navigate the challenges of managing employees who help with the emotions of humans. The show's unique blend of humor and heart makes it stand out from other workplace comedies. Unlike "Big Mouth," which relies heavily on crude humor and shock value, "Human Resources" focuses on genuine relationships between characters and the struggles of balancing work and personal life. This is what I will be talking about in this video.

It kinda sucks that Human Resources is just an overall better show and better use of concept than the show it span off from Big Mouth yet it only got 2 seasons to Big Mouths 8.

My Thoughts of Netflix's Big Mouth
The show and its' spinoff Human Resources were recommended to me by my friend @artstar1997. And I love them so much more than I thought I would! I recently finished my first binge and I'm ready to watch them all over again. And this is high praise coming from me. because I don't normally go for irreverent adult animation. I don't even like The Simpsons anymore. But I love these shows!
So first off, the animation style is an acquired taste. Personally, I like how all the characters have big, stylized lips, compared to most other animated shows where the mouths are just a line on the face. Plus, I really like the way they draw the eyes. They look like tiny color wheels.
The show is all about puberty. The creators, Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg even based the main two characters off of themselves when they were going through puberty. And man, they do not think well of their younger selves! Those two boys make every mistake in the book and only sometimes learn from their mistakes. But that's okay, so do the other characters. The writers dug deep into their memories to bring out what it's like being a teenager, any kind of teenager. So, of course these kids make bad decisions, of course they get crazy crushes, of course they're bad at communicating. That's part of growing up. The magical realism just heightens how we all feel when we get older.
The show also goes out of its way with different types of representation. There's POC rep, there's queer rep, there's hit-or-miss disabled rep. I'm not saying it's perfect of course but it's really impressive compared to other shows. And it does a great job of character development. Minor characters like Matthew, Caleb, and Lola start off as basic caricatures, but go through personal arcs and story lines as the show progresses.
What I love even more than the human characters are the mind creatures who guide them. The Hormone Monsters, Lovebugs, Shame Wizards, Anxiety Mosquitos, and more. They all think they know what's best for their human clients and for the most part they all legit care about their wellbeing. And that's really touching to me. Not even in the works of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, where gods literally depend on human belief to exist, have I seen that much investment in a mere mortal.
And it's funny. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm hard to amuse, but I've laughed, out loud, to every Big Mouth episode I've seen. Yes, there is some offensive stuff, and yes, I've averted my eyes many times out of second-hand embarrassment. But the series as a whole is about having fun while touching on serious topics. And while I wouldn't call the show 'wholesome', there are some moments I actually find kinda cute.
And for all those who say that Big Mouth is "ugly" or that it "sexualizes kids", let me remind you how much Japanese anime features full-frontal nudity. And they don't even have the guts to make them anatomically correct. At least Big Mouth shows you what genitalia actually looks like. Plus, they don't even show sex onscreen. The most we get is a euphemism or the character's face. And if that "ugly" stuff turns you on, that's on you.

hot take— or maybe just an unspoken take? big mouth isn't bad, it just becomes less relatable/enjoyable the older you are, unless you retain the kind of humor it adheres to throughout your adulthood.
i feel like human resources is generally better written than big mouth, but human resources tackles hard-hitting emotional topics and the occasional real-world injustice while big mouth primarily revolves around puberty and family dynamics.
human resources is geared towards adults, big mouth is geared towards children– and before someone starts the train of "big mouth is widely more inappropriate than human resources", i know it might be hard to remember as you pass that phase of your life, but i vaguely remember fifth grade being where i got my first taste of innuendos and internet links that i definitely shouldn't have been looking at.
so, yeah. totally not fair that big mouth has lasted longer than some shows that deserved a continuation, but i don't think we should blame the show itself for being kinda stupid and gross and super silly because unless you had a certain kind of childhood, i think that was the general middle school experience in america (which is exactly what the show is trying to depict).

It’s very interesting and indicative that when fans of the DMC gameverse criticize the netflix show, they’ll go on multi-paragraph posts on why they loved the original franchise and why the netflix show is a cheap insult to it.
But the all the netflix defenders got is: “The characters are hot and the fight scenes are cool! Stop being such a hater sheesh 😒” I feel bad for the furries that got into the netflix show because of the rabbit tbh.
This is an issue that has been going on not just for DMC, but for many other pieces of media. How many times have we heard that argument? "Don't be a hater, if you don't like it just don't watch", this isn't how things work. Yes, I agree there's no reason to jump at people who have enjoyed something and tell them that they're stupid for doing it — but it's thanks to criticism that nowadays the world isn't the exact same way it was before.
Long post below.
"If you don't like it don't watch, you're being a hater" is nothing but the equivalent in media for "do not fight for your rights, do not question what you're given nor put into", an argument fascists and dictators use. Do these people think that we would be where we are now if people hadn't voiced their complains? Being a comformist has its consequences, and those consequences are being shown.
Sure, this is just a netflix series, not the removal of basic human rights, but that doesn't make it any less concerning: accepting any product that is given to you regardless of how good or bad is, is nothing more than a branch of that bigger problem. "It's better than having nothing" so you would rather eat raw meat that could damage you rather than starve? I'm sorry, but I would not. I'm just the average person on planet Earth and I deserve to be treated with the same respect as the guy who has too much money on his hands. You can't be a comformist and go "at least we've got crumbs!", no, you're not supposed to get crumbs, you're supposed to be given the piece of bread on the table like everyone else.
Now, with that said since this ask is about DMC, let's go back to that:
Devil May Cry isn't a perfect saga. It had its ups and downs. But, and we have to make this clear, it's thanks to the people who voiced their complains about those downs that we were given proper content as costumers. Sure, Itsuno may have been annoyed himself and wanted a proper game to follow Kamiya's own, but do you really think the company would have given him the necessary time and resources for DMC3 to happen if people hadn't voiced their displeasure with DMC2? No, they're a company, not an indie developer nothing speaks more to them than money. If people had accepted DMC2 anyways because "it was better than having no sequel" they wouldn't have given the necessary things to make DMC3 happen, because they would have seen that unfinished games and lack of attention and consideration would give them benefits anyways.
Why are people right now voicing their annoyance with (mainly Nintendo's) current game prices? Because if we don't, then the only ones allowed to play them will be the 4 ones around there that can afford them. And that's because, regardless of what the majority says, if there's people willing to pay for such an insulting price, they won't bother to listen. "I'm gonna buy it anyways because I'm a fanboy" what you're being is incredibly comformist. "It is what it is" has done a lot of damage to people's mentality. Don't get me wrong, companies know about this, so the moment people doubt about those prices, they will add 'limited edition' to them, so everyone panics, thinking they're gonna miss on this precious product if they don't buy it now, regardless of the price.
We humans don't act by instict nowadays, and that's why we're so easy to manipulate. "You're gonna miss on this" or "your favorite piece of media will have nothing else if you don't accept this" or "you're being ungrateful, at least you got something".
I don't want 'something', I don't want 'the bare minimum', I want to be given the same worth I am giving those people for such a product. You want 90€ for a game? Sure, as long as it is worth them. Because, no, the 10th MarioKart is not worth that money.
There's a reason why handmade products cost more than the ones from a factory. They take more time, more effort, more research, more care... And more passion.
Netflix is a company. They don't care if you liked their content or not, as long as you pay — that's why series such as Devil May Cry have been splitted into two. Because, no, those 8 episodes were not season 1. It's just been a week, this has been planned since the start, it's not the haters' fault that the next season was announced. Season 2 is also season 1, they simply divived them so they would get people to watch the first half with hype, regardless of how less people watch the second half due to the awful job of the showrunner and writers. They are businessmen before anything else, they knew everyone, haters or defenders, would be watching at day 1 due to the amount of hype (and lies) built around the series. They don't care if you're gonna watch season 2 or not — you already gave them their money; they already have a bunch of people defending the series SIMPLY to be against those who did not like it; they already have a lot of people who simply want to entertain themselves and not engage with said piece of media... Why should they care about it being something done with the minimum effort?
"It's not a canon universe" that's not the point, not at all — but what am I supposed to expect from people who defend a series that is representing a certain group of people as demons, huh? The REAL issue is HOW these characters have been changed:
Tumblr media
"It's an AU" why, though? Why would you want to make them swap roles? This isn't a Dante and Vergil situation in which people come up with interesting concepts regarding their trauma and experiences, their own personalities and behavior — no, this isn't that. This is Shankar seeing Sparda, a character that was written as someone who gave up on his own power to join humanity; and Mundus, a character who would kill anyone who interacted with Sparda simply because he sided with the weak. Is it fiction? Yes. Does it affect reality? Well... Isn't this showrunner a Trump supporter? I wonder why, huh.
This guy saw Lady, a girl who and killed her own father for the sake of everyone else. A girl who lived with guilt the rest of her life because she has killed her father. A girl who put others above herself in commiting an act such as murder, patricide, with her bare hands. a girl still compassionate enough to cry such a horrible man's death.
And what has Shankar turned her into? A genocidal, racist cop. Shankar saw a girl who cried for a man who deserved nothing but to disappear — and he thought she was better as a sociopathic soldier.
Vergil, a boy who despite believing all his life due to his traumatic experiences that humans were miserable weak creatures, he never hated them. Despite being blinded by trauma for decades — he never hated humanity.
What did Shankar see in him? A man who would side with the responsible of his family's death and disappearance.
"It's an AU" or "the game's stories were never good anyways" or "you people are just haters".
Haters... So you are against people voicing their opinion? "No, I just don't want you throwing it at me." No one's throwing anything at you, not real critics, at least, they're posting it in their OWN accounts. "But I still see it." What are the silence and block buttons for? "But you just don't want us having fun." We just don't want you to defend a product made my an egocentric Trump supporter. What? Being a hater of Christianity now makes you automatically a defender of the poor? I never knew you guys were this naive... Or dumb.
Whenever it's a blue checkmark on Twitter... Yes, I do wonder how much you were paid to defend this shitshow. But whenever it isn't — why? Why are you waisting your energy? Sure, go ahead and enjoy the show. Let people speak their minds, just ignore them if you're such a boring person to have no taste and consume any piece of media that is shoven into your throat simply because "the animation is cool." It's... It's an animated series, isn't that the bare minimum?
"I don't condone the showrunner's behavior, I only like the series." Do you not see how this was written? Is your brain really that rotten? Have you spent that much time on TikTok with brainrot one-minute videos, that you've forgotten how it feels to be able to think by yourself? You can't despise the showrunner's behavior and support his product, do you think he's gonna care about your ideology, as long as you consume the product of his narcissism and egocentrism?
I know many examples of people with too much money on their hands to pay for others to speak well of them, be it articles, or news, or companies, or individuals... (if anyone's intrigued, or doesn't believe me, DM me, i don't mind giving another example). We live in a capitalist society, for the love of god, NO review from 'professionals' is genuine. Do you really believe in Rotten Tomatoes? The page that had a 82% on Blonde when it first aired, and after time and discussions passed, now it has a 50%?
Tumblr media
7.70 out of 10, and you give it a 96%? Then, 3.3 out of 5, and you give it a 61%? That 3.3 out of 5 comes from people not being able to rate something properly with numbers, it's a mix of 0/5 reviews and 5/5 reviews, it's not a fair number. The single negative critique of te 'critics' talks about how the series isn't really a homage to the original games has most likely not been read. Neither the rest — but who cares, most are positive, right? That's our nowadays issue. "I'm not reading all that" or "yapping" in our culture has done a lot of damage to critical thinking, and people acting as individuals.
If you understand Spanish well, I recommend this video in particular about reviews, and how all of them are fake, be them paid or not. Please, it's not a waste of time at all.
... About that last part, I do not feel that bad for the ones who got into it because of the rabbit. It's again, the same thing: so, regardless of how bad a series was, you find the fucking furry hot, so you don't care and praise the product anyways. You find a single thing of it good, and that already makes it the Holy Grail for you.
I don't think we have a solution for this. Not anymore, with how putrid our brains are nowadays. After all, it's easier to attack the people who demand a quality product, than the rich guy behind said product, isn't it?

9 Anime to Watch to Feel Like This 👇🏾
Tumblr media
The alternative title/concept for this list was "Anime Featuring The Zaddiests of Daddies" but, you know. Consistency or whatever. When I saw the gif, however, I cackled so loud that I figured it still captured The Vibe ✨ (that being #fatherless) Considering this context, some recommendations are slightly longer than the usual bite size serving of 12-24 episodes but you won't regret indulging. Each show is recommended for the plot which is very evident with the teaser gifs. Happy Fathers' Day, you degenerates. And remember, you don't have to have kids to be a Daddy. 😈❤️
Tumblr media
Spy x Family (series) - There is something so wholesome about the fate of the world as he knows it relying on how convincingly he can portray a Good Father despite his own origin story. Loid Forger, in a mission to maintain peace, creates the perfect family through any means necessary. Doubt he realized, in doing so, he'd create a home for himself and the oddballs helping to keep up the ruze.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Hulu
Tumblr media
Buddy Daddies (series) - The life of hitmen Rei Suwa and Kazuki Kurusu get a bit more messy when one of their hits leaves them with a pretty sizable loose end. Regardless of their occupation, their lives change around a little girl and trying to provide as good a home as two, single twenty-something men can. The rest, they'll figure out.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll
Tumblr media
My Senpai is Annoying (series) - Very capable working woman finds herself kohai to an older, overly chummy colleague who DEFINITELY does not know how to PDF documents unsupervised. This is a show about their day to day interactions. If you're wondering if Takeda is the only contender in this series, hold out for Futaba's grandfather. Just trust me.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll
Tumblr media
Jujutsu Kaisen (series + movie) - *Gestures vaguely to my blog* This show has plenty of compelling reasons to become obsessed. Trying to train strong child soldiers to protect the balance of humans vs curses so they don’t see a grisly demise is just one of them. Not your average shonen, not your average found families.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu
Tumblr media
My Hero Academia (series + movies) - Something about kids needing guidance so as not to die while in the pursuit of some great civic duty really creates an environment for some skrunkly father figures. 😘👌🏾 Never mind that the climax of this story is one that tangles generations of families as society adapts to the advent of super powers.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Hulu, Netflix
Tumblr media
Fire Force (series) - in a world where humans can spontaneously combust, Shinra, who is blamed for the fire that killed his mother and younger brother, seeks to overcome the stigma of his power and joins Fire Force Company 8. In training to fight Infernals, he learns to control his pyrokineses under the guidance of many talented fighters while trying to understand the world around him and the invisible hand that manipulates everything.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Hulu
Tumblr media
Attack on Titan (series) - Unpredictable violence at the vicious jaws of larger than life monsters, the last remaining humans seek refuse behind hallowed walls. Until one day, the day the first wall fell, which made what once provided security feel more like a holding pen ahead of the slaughter. As resources dwindle and the indomitable curiosity of humans persist, the brave minority pushes the boundaries of the walls that house them and seek to uncover the shroud of mystery as of how they found themselves prisoners to titans in the first place.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Hulu, Sling TV
Tumblr media
Chainsaw Man (series) - Human fears strengthen devils which threaten to overrun the world. Enter the Public Safety Devil Hunters responsible for exterminating devils before they become bigger problems and keeping a bead on larger threats, namely, the Gun Devil. The titular character eventually falls under the supervision of Aki Hayakawa (and later Kishibe *swoon*) who has a strong single-dad-who-works-two-jobs-who-loves-his-kids-and-never-stops type vibe.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Hulu
Tumblr media
Blue Exorcist (series + movie) - When your dad is Satan, the bar is literally in hell for the man who steps up to raise you. Even so, LOOK AT THE DRIP. There's a narrow line to walk when trying to overcome your own parentage and twin brothers, Rin and Yukio, seek to do so by following in their adoptive father, Shiro Fujimoto's, footsteps despite obvious adversity. Just remember to skip to Season 2 after episode 17 or Google the proper order to watch.

I finally finished echo so if you’d like to listen to me incoherently ramble about it and my baby maya pls join me below ✨
first off the fact that there were only 5 episodes is fucking CRIMINAL
secondly alaqua cox is quite literally one of the most beautiful human beings I have ever seen
and thirdly I would die for biscuits and billy jack
side note- matt showing up just to be a dick and show off and then dip is so on brand but this isn’t his show and it isn’t about him so that’s the last i’ll talk about him
let’s get into it
not even two minutes into the first episode I was leaking from my eyes, and that happened several times throughout the entire series
the tone of this series reminded me so much of the netflix mcu and after watching echo, I have a lot more hope for future marvel projects that are darker and more gritty
the way this show dealt with themes of grief and generational trauma while also balancing sequences of violence and sprinkles of comedic relief was incredible. nothing felt cheesy or forced, the pacing was a little fast but again we were only given 5 episodes and echo definitely deserved more
the entire quileute tribe being cast is fucking ICONIC
the amount of work that went into making sure the indigenous representation was accurate and presented in a respectful way was very impressive. my father’s side of the family is native american and live in oklahoma and it was just really neat to see something so close to home portrayed in marvel without being over the top or exaggerated
I forgot how much I loved vincent’s version of fisk and getting to see him in the iconic white suit was incredible. i’m also super stoked to see the mayor fisk storyline and how that affects maya
I think they should’ve spent longer exploring how her ancestors echo through her and the healing abilities/powers that seems to grant her. it’s a lot different from her “power” in the comics and I honestly think it’s a more interesting concept and I would love to see them explore it further in the future
I loved that they weren’t lazy with the sign language and that the cast and crew all learned to communicate with alaqua
I loved that they also spoke in choctaw, and started the series with the creation of the tribe to set the stage for the rest of the series
the fact that alaqua herself is deaf and an amputee just proves that she was meant to play maya and she did a fucking PHENOMENAL job
I think they handled her disability so respectfully and perfectly. it wasn’t a hinderance or something that was heavily pointed out, it was literally just a part of who she was and that’s it
she’s so fucking smart and resourceful like she straight up made a gun out of a roller skate???
playing dragula at the skating rink was so real she’s just like me
the way they laced sound in and out of certain scenes to give us maya’s pov of what she experiences was such a neat thing to do
the little easter eggs confirming that the netflix shows are canon??? (fisk’s hammer, the roxxon gas station, etc)
y’all know how I feel about feral brunettes (especially ones in leather jackets)
“kingpin had his run. it’s time for a queen.” FUCKING ICONIC
bottom line is this show was fucking amazing and if you haven’t watched it yet, please do yourself a favor and check it out, especially if you enjoyed any of the netflix marvel shows. you will not be disappointed
i’m humbly appointing myself president of the maya lopez fan club and you’re all welcome to join we’re getting matching leather jackets
I can’t rave enough about echo or alaqua cox (I mean I could) but if you’ve made it this far thx for coming to my ted talk 🖤✨

I Can't Remember Love (Zhongli x Reader)
Lolita's Note: This is a fic I impulsively wrote inspired by this song! It's one of my favorites. I've been feeling under the weather lately so this is very self-indulgent.
Tumblr media
Reminiscence. It is one of the many bittersweet things that Zhongli goes through in his life countless times. There are instances where he wishes he has the memory of a normal human being.
Fickle, fleeting, yet like the essence of the cycle of seasons, the memory of a human being eventually forgets to make room for the new.
Sometimes it forgets the most monotonous thing; sometimes it forgets the most painful encounter. Though, sometimes it also remembers, but unlike him, the memories inside a mortal's mind become a mosaic of fragments unique to their own journey in their lives.
But to him, he remembers it all. Whereas, instead of a fragmented mosaic, they are all clear paintings that move through every fiber of his being.
Memories of the archon war, of the many eras he had lived through, of the many battles he fought, and of the people whom lives he had witnessed blossom and wither - it all melts inside of him, an unpleasant mixture of despair, bloodshed, triumph, and change.
But, out of all the things he remembers, he chooses to reminisce about you.
His beloved.
His treasure.
The first time he saw you was during one of your travels, lost in the mountains where the adepti resided, and he remembers the questioning look in your eyes when you found him sitting alone by the stone table at Mt. Aozang, and he always smiles at himself when he remembers the cautious way you asked him for directions to get back to the harbor.
Back then, he thought he will never see you again, part of him wanted you to take a seat beside him and rest for a while, but he sensed your urgency to return back to where you came from.
So when he saw you again, he remembers how surprised you were when he visited the restaurant you temporarily worked for.
He remembers how hardworking and clever you were. You always loved what you were doing, and he admired your unbreakable resolve to keep moving forward despite the many obstacles you faced in life.
He remembers the day he realized he became too watchful of you, and he remembers the day he found himself accompanying you too often in your journeys.
When you asked him why, he remembers how he told you that he just grew fond being around you.
He remembers how you used to buy yourself beautiful clothes after a commission with a hefty pay.
He remembers how you always dreamed to be part of an opera troupe, and when he tells you he can refer you to one of his acquaintances, you politely refuse him. He remembers you telling him that you've grown 'too old' for it, and that you didn't 'have enough time and resources'; but you always tell him that it can happen in the next life.
For every dream you didn't achieve, he remembers how you always tell him that, often with that sweet smile in your face.
And he almost laughs bitterly at that.
When he thinks about you, he also remembers the archon war.
He remembers searching for you far and wide. For each step that he took, he looked for any sign of you. Anything, even the faintest tune of your voice. He remembers desperation.
To see you,
To feel you,
Alive.
He remembers how the flames engulfed the traces of your life. He remembers the embers of what was once your home.
He remembers the sight of burnt silk and shattered pieces of jade ー one of your favorite possessions.
He remembers how he lost himself at the sight of losing you. And it was painful.
He remembers that it was the moment where he grew tired of losing people that mattered to him.
At the time, he knew nothing but wrath and despair. Zhongli grew coldhearted, his heart hard as stone. But, he found that the passage of time does heal you little by little.
Yet, out of all the things he remembers about you, Zhongli seemed to forget one thing.
Love.
He thinks it's better that way, to forget about how much he loved you. In a sense, it makes remembering you less painful.
With each passing of the seasons, his heart ached less, and his scars healed better. A few hundred years have passed, and Zhongli became a man of many duties.
Presently, the man puts up a facade of a polite and dedicated bachelor, dutifully fulfilling his responsibilities as the esteemed consultant of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.
He seemed to take it as his favorite pastime, drinking tea or having wine and reminiscing about you, especially when he is alone.
Whenever he stops by the Heyu Teahouse, he pictures you as one of the guest performers alongside the Yun-Han opera troupe.
Oh, how you'd look beautiful in their delicate costumes. Zhongli always wishes to a fallen star that maybe someday, you'll return to him living the life you once dreamed of.
But he knows it won't be coming true. So he holds on to every bit of memory he has of you.
Zhongli wants to remember how he loved you.
He wants to remember how he kissed and touched you.
Out of all the things he can forget, why would it be the one? He asks himself.
They say it is bad to open up old wounds, but he does so whenever he thinks about you.
He hates to admit that he wants you back.
Zhongli wants to see and feel your existence again, and maybe he is desperate about it, but he doesn't want to live his life like this anymore.
He doesn't want to pretend. To put up a facade. He has become so restless and empty for the last 500 years. He can't help it.
It's not the same without you.
"I remember springtime, I remember when it rained"
A familiar voice rings through his ears and he looks up to see who the next performer is.
"I remember night time"
His eyes widened at the sight. He saw the one person he had longed for so long.
"The happiness and pain"
There you were, standing on the stage as you sang a mellow song from a foreign region. The guests were intently listening to your melodic voice, as you sang a song of melancholy and love.
"I remember you"
Zhongli found himself walking towards you, cautiously, as if he was reliving the moment of your first encounter. Your eyes were closed, and you had the familiar smile on your face. He remembers it clearly, the expression you have when you were enjoying yourself.
"But I can't remember love"
He found it ironic. You were so beautiful. You felt so complete, like you weren't chasing ends to meet anymore. So, he knows this is different. This is not you from many years ago. Still, you looked the same as ever ー as if you haven't aged at all.
"Was it only yesterday, or many moons ago?"
Zhongli realized you were looking into his eyes, still smiling ー as if you were asking him the lyric you were singing, reminiscing about the archaic past together. He felt his heart beat again, and he wanted nothing but to hold you tight in his arms.
"When I turned and walked away, where, oh, where did it go?"
The lanterns of the teahouse illuminated your face, and you both stood there. Zhongli patiently waited for you to finish the song. He doesn't know how to approach you, or how you'll react when he calls you by your name.
"I remember you. Yet, I want to remember love, and I do…"
You sang the last lines of the song and people clapped as you ended your performance. It turns out you were a local singer who performs in taverns and teahouses all across Teyvat. Zhongli felt nostalgic at that fact. You are still a traveler at heart.
He felt a pang at his chest when you started to walk away. He figured you still had places to go.
No.
He cannot let this happen.
He cannot lose you again.
He called your name as he started to chase after you.
You were about to get inside your carriage when you heard his voice.
"Are you referring to me, sir?" You asked innocently.
"Yes." He replied, catching his breath.
There was silence for a while. While you were studying his appearance, he felt a mixture of feelings as he took in your beauty.
"It… it really is you." He smiled. He doesn't want to scare you, but he remembers now. He remembers how his heart beats fast whenever he's around you. He remembers how it takes all of his composure to remain calm and collected whenever he is near you.
He remembers it all.
And for once, he wishes he won't forget anymore. He'd rather have the curse of remembering everything as long as there's you in it.
He remembers now.
He remembers how much he loves you, even if you don't remember him anymore.
He'll watch over you, just like he did in the past. He'll protect you. And if the time comes when you need him by your side, he'll stay with you ー for as long as you need.
To Zhongli, your existence is enough to make him love you, even if it's just from afar.
So, he thanks every fallen star he has wished to; because he can truly feel alive, now that you're here again.

Creatures from Human Resources and My Thoughts on Them
Hormone Monsters ~~~~~~ A better name would be "Sex Satyrs".
Lovebugs and Hate Worms ~~~~~~ Genuis metaphor! I'm surprised no one else has thought of it!
Logic Rocks ~~~~~~ Makes sense on so many levels. Surprised there weren't any Vulcan jokes.
Shame Wizards ~~~~~~ The embodiment of "jerk-ass has a point".
Depression Cats ~~~~~~ Mixed feelings on these. Depression sucks, but giant purple cats would be awesome.
Anxiety Mosquitos ~~~~~~ I feel really sorry for them. They're just worried all the time.
Ambition Gremlins ~~~~~~ I can't tell if that's a stereotype or not.
Addiction Angels ~~~~~~ Living oxymorons who love OxyContin.
Need Demons ~~~~~~ Sounds like "speed demon". Love their animation style.
Keith From Greif ~~~~~~ Adorable little badass.
Smitty From Pity ~~~~~~ He'd an onion and I love that!
Hope ~~~~~~ Interesting portrayal, nice lady, kind of a flake.

I haven't watched the new show on Netflix, and I don't plan to. But from what I've heard, it's interesting that there's some thematic overlap between it and a series of posts I made outlining a potential post-DMC5 plot (under "The Machiavelli Duology" in my pinned post).
The main thing is including antagonists strongly inspired by the real life United States Military. The show even goes as far as to use American Idiot by Green Day. Which is kind of baffling knowing what we do about the showrunner's politics, but I suppose it's common for right wingers to think of themselves as anti-establishment. I suppose supporting a fascist movement wants to destroy the few good things that the status quo had to offer technically counts?
My yet-to-be-named Antagonistic Military Organization is a group of devil hunters not unlike the Order of the Sword, but with more modern weaponry and aesthetic choices. Their main goal is to use Trish's blood to create a new Nightmare weapon with the power to destroy the Underworld (though perhaps they just intend to wipe out all life and plunder what's left for resources).
The AMO is working with the Uroboros Corporation from Devil May Cry 2, unaware of their own more demon-friendly ends. Through Uroboros, the AMO is being manipulated by Machiavelli, an obscure character in DMC lore who I've imagined as a war profiteer who wants to undo the separation of worlds to ignite an endless war. An important detail in my headcanon is that he actually aided Sparda's rebellion against Mundus, before it became clear that Sparda could actually win and secure independence and peace for humanity.
It sounds like the show affiliates Lady with their militaristic faction, and while I briefly considered Lady having some relationship with my AMO, I quickly decided against it. To be fair, the show is in the early stages of its own continuity, and it sounds like it's taking a very different approach to Lady's backstory, while mine is set after the events of all of the games. But some have argued that in the process it removes a lot of the context that makes Lady compelling.
The main thing that makes Lady hostile to my AMO is that she wouldn't fall into the trap of thinking that humans = good and demons = bad. Her mother was murdered by a human who sought demonic power, and pretty much all of her allies are demons. Perhaps she'd see the appeal of destroying the Underworld, ending the threat of demons permanently, but all it would take is a disappointed look from her Good Friend™ Trish to snap her out of that.
It also sounds like the show wants to portray the conflict as more morally grey than the games really hint at, even going as far as to suggest that Sparda's act of separating worlds was wrong?
I think that is a question worth exploring, tbh, though it's hard to definitively say that preventing a being that styles himself as a god from subjugating humanity was a bad thing. But it could be fun to ponder the idea that humans and demons could peacefully coexist. Plenty of demons peacefully live among humans already, the idea that demons are capable of feeling compassion is a very important theme in the series.
Whether the backlash against these choices is valid or not - many in fandom are averse to references to politics of any kind, as we've seen from the pro-ASMDC crowd already - I can treat some of the criticisms being voiced as helpful feedback.

I just finished watching the Netflixs Devil May Cry series during my work breaks. I've never played any of the games or watched the other anime before this. All of my knowledge of the lore comes from two YouTube videos talking about the abridged timeline. It's safe to say that I'm coming at this from an outsider perspective. Because of that, I want to write down my own thoughts on it, since I think plenty of people might be curious about that.
Honestly, it was good. Nothing amazing. Not even God awful. Just decent.
Spoilers Thoughts Undercut
Good
The action is fantastic.
It has pretty good comedy. There are plenty of times where it made me laugh.
Dante is awesome. He reminds of a more down to Earth and intelligent Goku.
Vergil in this series seems promising with his cameo at the end.
Lady is a character as well till the very end.
I love the idea of the White Rabbit in a vacuum. He kinda reminds of The Darkling in the sense that he's fighting to protect a group of people, but is willing to do questionable acts to accomplish that goal. He's a fantastic foil for Dante and Lady. I'm just iffy if I think he was the best choice as a villain for this one, especially with this season focusing more on Lady, which makes me think that her father should've still been the villain.
The animation in the flashback episode was gorgeous. Half of it looked like something out of an indie game.
Changing the animation style when the guy got into Hell was a clever move.
The part where American Idiot is blasting as the US is bombing Hell had me in stitches. Talk about fitting.
The soundtrack was awesome and really fit the tone and time period of the series.
Hearing Kevin Conroy was a huge surprise for me, but completely welcome in my books.
Bad
Some of the CGI is pretty wonky looking.
This had the same problem as Hazbin Hotel where the story felt a little rushed at times. Considering this only had 8 episodes, nothing much could've been really done about it.
I found the identity of the White Rabbit kinda lame. Instead of being Arkham like I thought, especially since this series changed his motives to make it protecting his family rather than power like in the games, it's some random human guy who somehow was able to slip into the demon realm and is fighting to save the demons. Yes, I know he's based on a character from the manga. But from what I understand, the character in the manga has a completely different backstory and role in the plot. I'm a bit confused why they would set up a mystery to have it be just some guy.
If the White Rabbit is just some guy, why the fuck is he wearing a mask? People do that to disguise their identity. But no one in the human world knows him outside of Lady, who met him briefly. The demons have accepted him as one of their own, so they don't care that he's human. There's no point to it outside of keeping a half baked mystery for the audience, which is stupid. He reminds me of Crowley from Twisted Wonderland in a bad way in that sense.
Lady's Power Ranger Squad could've been fleshed out more.
I didn't like how Lady backstabbed Dante by handing him over to the US government to turn him into some Winter Soldier knockoff. Normally, I'm all for female characters making questionable or bad choices. She learnt about how corrupt they were and that not all demons are bad, so it feels like character regression and makes no sense.
This might be me reading too much into things, but my reading of this is that the events of this series symbolically mirror the Iraq War. The US military in the series portrays Hell as a dangerous place full of evil beings, when in reality, their true interest just lies in exploiting its resources. This parallels the way the US justified the Iraq War by claiming Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, when the real motive was access to oil. If we follow that interpretation to its conclusion, the NPC demons from literal Hell could be seen as representing Middle Eastern and North African refugees. While I don’t think the writers intentionally made this connection, it's still just yikes and plays into a lot of awful negative MENA stereotypes. (And that makes Lady's decision at the end even worse. She's aligning herself with a group that's reminiscent of those who we know were the bad guys in real life, despite knowing that they are in the wrong.)
Rating wise: 7/10
Over all, if you go into this like it's an AU that is based on the property or an outsider like me, just wanting pure popcorn entertainment, you'll have a fun time. If you are expecting a one to one adaptation of DMC 3 or high art, then you're gonna be disappointed. Though, there are some things that I wish were done a lot better..

If we had a merit system the ways “Nosedive” does (using their phone to give people stars) could our society improve?
If we lived in a merit system where we used stars to rate out interactions or impressions on each other I think that our society would go down. Like in the show Nosedive we see how fake they are to one each other trying to be someone that they are not . In real life I think this would cause a lot of unlikelyness in society and even bigger problems. A lot of people would hide behind a mask when outside in the world and a different one in their home. Which might already be the case but with this system it could be worse. This could also cause more division between races or social classes, again high already happens but if we’re constant rating people on apprentice it might be more divided. The constant fairness might cause people to explode from holding to much in like the main character in Nosedive did at the end. Our real life is already full of people trying to fit in or constant e liked, if we had a merit system where we can give or take stars from people would be trying even harder.
Do we have a similar ranking merit system we are not aware of ?
We in fact do having a similar rating system like in the show Nosedive, although no straight to a person but close enough. We use app where we leave star rating like any food delivery service, car service, Airbnb and yelp reviews. Our star rating determine whether one of this things is good or not. If some of these places/people have low ratings the app might not allow them to use all their resources. Where high ratings give them access to more resources. For a yelp or Airbnb review it could determine whether this places stays open or not. Like in the show Nosedive where people with higher ratings have more places or access to more resources then lower ratings.
Is white privilege still happening on social media?
When social media first started the intent was that only white people would use it. In the article “Race and Gender” it talks about how these apps had “pull-down” menus where the features assumed that all users were white by default. Again back to where the created of these platforms cause the app to be racist, just like any camera or AI that won recognize a darker skin tone. White privilege still exists on social media because they just assume that white people are the only ones and never have to be worried about getting mistaken on a camera.
