Can I ask how can be Dream and Nightmare but human?

Warning: I’m really fucking bad at humanizing non-human characters so cut me some slack, don’t judge too hard

With that in mind 2 notes

1- no “they’re magical creatures so they always look young” bullshit, old bitches and wrinkles for the win

2- I like to think had they been human, Nightmare would look significantly older than Dream as adults, due to Dream’s stone imprisonment stopping his physical growth

ugh okay, so im not gonna finish this, cus i was happy with it, until i realised the head was too small, the eyes were too big and that the face was too stiff - and those things combined made the drawing look like... a certain 'technology' i HIGHTLY disprove of and hate... and thats demotivated me so much - OBVIOUSLY. so im stopping. ill post how much i did, but like, WARNING cus it DOES look fake. i PROMISE its not and i ACTUALLY drew it - you can see my sketchy lines and notes of the image, but yeah...

you can see what i wad going for? i wanted him to have small face, and a big golden glowing afro - literally glowing btw. the little bits were supposed to hang down and look like litte solar balls - they eye makeup was supposed to little suns, and he was supposed to have little star freckles. their eyes have little sunshaped pupils too, and i drew little hears in them - i dunno if you can see them, but theyre there. i didnt get to do anything with the hair or add texture cas i figured out how wrong it looked, so its a mess

they have freckles ALL over their body!!! when i was little, my stepmom used to call my freckles angel kisses, and i thought it was fitting for dream 💛

he's also big and muscular.... because they're the guardian of positivity!!! he runs around all the time fighting nightmare and his minions so duhh obviously they would be jacked
