The first thing Hyuka was greeted with that morning when he walked into the class, was your upset, half-turned away from him face. You were absent-mindedly looking out of the window, so zoned out you didn't notice your best friend straight away. Huening took a seat beside you, the lightest pat on your shoulder letting you know about his presence. “Hey, is everything alright? You don’t look so happy today.” 

“Nothing bad happened, I just, I don’t know, feel off today.” You finally turned away from the window, only to see Kai’s worried, caring gaze being directed right at you.

“How about we try to cheer you up, then? You can’t spend all day feeling like this.” He immediately offered, you not feeling your best always made him sadder, too.

“I know”, you sighed, “I don’t particularly know how to fix it, though.”

“Say no more”, with a mysterious grin, Hyuka turned away from you, but only for a second. The next thing you saw was your favorite game loading on his phone.

He always was so considerate, always knowing what your favorite book, game or food is.

You played together until the bell rang, signaling the beginning of the class. This little time helped you feel a tad bit better, just enough to get through the class without feeling absolutely miserable. Throughout the time, however, your best friend never stopped his attempts at cheering you up. 

Not that he ever declined you before, but now you had all of his colorful stickers and markers at your disposal. Hyuka, himself, was just as bright as his stickers. His usual little silly jokes, now being whispered in the lowest of tones, got only funnier to hear.

Long, sometimes boring, but never with Kai by your side, classes turned into breaks and breaks turned into new classes. You hardly noticed when the school day came to an end. Finally you could get a breath and relax for a little. 

“Are you free today? We could hang out for a bit,” Hyuka suggested and you were all too glad to accept the offer. Nothing sounded as good as winding down in the company of your best friend. 

In the same mysterious tone of voice he so liked to use with you, Huening announced that you’re going to try a new bistro out today. Obviously the one you've never seen before and only he could show you the way to.

On your way there, Kai entertained you by blabbering about all the nonsense that could only come into his head. Once the 5th story was told and retold a few times, you finally arrived at the bistro, according to your very honest best friend - “the best ever place you could only dream to eat at”.

Well, everything you got to eat was really, really nice. Warm and delicious, what could be better after a tiring school day? 

Later on, as you were walking home, chewing on your both favorite muffins, you definitely felt much happier than you did in the morning. 

“See, days that start badly don’t always have to end the same way.” Kai uttered, shoving half of the muffin into his mouth. And he was right. With him, no day would ever end badly. You had no doubt your “sunshine bestie” could make any boring day far more interesting, and every bad day - much, much better.

They're all protective of you

Each other too ofc but especially if you're a female, yeah very protective

Most protective to least would be Yeonjun, Soobin, Taehyun, Beomgyu, Hueningkai

Yeonjun is more protective, not in a toxic way he just doesn't want anything happening to you or hurting you and will have at least an arm around your waist or shoulders in public. Needs you to be safe. Wants to take care of you and will never forgive himself if you got hurt, especially while he was with you.

Soobin is overprotective only because he cares, he wants you to be comfortable at all times even in public and especially with him, he doesn't want you to feel uncomfortable or like he's not a safe place because he wants you to come to him for things. It may not seem like it but he's most ig obvious with it, people will know y'all are dating.

Taehyun is probably a little less obvious and more so less overprotective, but he's a good balance of possessiveness rather than protectiveness. He needs people to know you're his but not in a desperate way. He's okay just holding hands with you in public but if someone tries making a move very obviously or you're clearly uncomfortable he's going to step in and verbally let em know he's yours. But he's not the type to get jealous quickly or too easily or make a big deal out of sum.

Beomgyu seems less possessive and more protective but only out of concern. He feels like your friend(s) are mistreating you? He's gonna ask you about it because he wants the best for you. Someone seems to be getting aggressive with you and especially a strange man? Hell no he's stepping in and telling them off. He seems like someone who'll try to avoid conflict but won't be too scared to make a scene if he has too. He just wants you to be safe and happy more than anything.

Idk I just don't see Kai as someone who would be overly protective or possessive. He's the last one who would be getting into conflict in public about something and probably re-direct you somewhere else if someone is making you uncomfortable to get you away and forget about it while the other boyfriends deal with it lol. He'd prefer to distract you and let you know that you're safe. It's easier to protect you that way.

PDA with them is different

Yeonjun likes PDA, just not sucking faces and groping ofc. Things like hand holding, cheek kissing or little pecks on lips, hugging, simple things.

Soobin is more on the low with it, physical affection in general. Mostly hand holding or hand around waist. Prefers it private.

Beomgyu likes to hold hands and have his arm around you in some way, hand on thigh, he's okay with some PDA.

Taehyun mostly prefers hand holding and hand on your thigh, not too big on PDA. Prefers to be private like Soobin.

Hueningkai likes having an arm around your shoulders, linking his arm around yours or having your ankles touch under a table while sitting down somewhere. Doesn't mind PDA.

If you're an introvert and like to be alone for a few hours in the day, they're fine with giving you the space you need!

If you're an extrovert and like to be with someone most of the day then that's fine too!

Yeonjun is a little too calming, me thinks. like, he's too good but he's great for times you wanna forget reality, be pampered and adored and cared for n not really have to worry about anything but also not feel like a child or baby. Lots of cuddles and kisses.

Soobin is the perfect amount of calming, very gentle and a soothing voice while talking to you. Lots of cuddles and affection and offers you food, drinks, anything you need he'll get you. intertwines your hands together and does the thumb thing while giving you comforting words.

Beomgyu has such a comforting presence, me thinks. Gets you your favorite snacks, foods, drinks, lets you in his comfortable clothes with his cologne on it, probably try and make you crack a smile. But he'll let you lay on him and lean on him for support and he's a good listener too ! Will hold you for as long as you need.

Taehyun is also a great listener and doesn't mind listening to your problems if you have anything to say, he wants you to trust him and be comfortable with him. A little quieter but doesn't leave your side and if he's getting something for you, you're coming with him. Watched your favorite movies and comfort shows, etc. he's just really good at making the situation and environment comfortable for you and safe. Also soft spoken n looks at you so fondly.

Hueningkai wants to see you smile again, hates seeing you sad or cry, his heart aches. He'll try and lighten the mood and make you giggle or smile. Cuddles the sadness out of you, smothers you in affection and lets you do whatever you want if it makes you feel better. Dress him up, put makeup on him, watch a show you love and he hates but he won't complain, spend his money on food, doesn't matter! If it makes you happy, he's happy.

and then hyuka teaches you how to play, focused fingers and a (bigger) hand on yours on the mouse— he doesn't really care if you're losing or winning, but just the mere idea of you wanting to spend your time with him, you wanting to love him and you just being all of HIS— just had him all dumb for you, didn't you? and your face when you'd finally win a game, telling you you're his fav girl & if you kept this up, you'd even be better than him !!! and he loves watching the way you get all shy at his praise, hand reaching over to playfully punch his shoulder, telling him to “shut up,” and “you don't acc mean that, you're just saying that cuz u love me.”

and he doesn't know what to admit, if he actually means it, or if he loves you— and the truth may tend to steer towards the latter, but you didn't mind that. not when hyuka would blush when he'd have to admit it, telling you to “shut up,” and just play the game. and you'd mumble a soft "I love you,” with a giggle, turning around to continue playing with his grip (subtly turning softer because it's you) on your own. and because you had your back turned, you didn't see how off guard you caught your boyfriend, him pressing his lips together at the sudden confession, feeling the heat rise in the room.

and when the two of you would be so tired of the same repetitive game— he'd ask if you wanted to order food? and you'd smirk slyly, asking him if he wanted to play a small game...winner gets the loser's tempura? and he'd nod a yes with a giggle, a finger playing with the hem of your shirt mindlessly <3 and you'd continue to explain how he'd have to order in a normal voice on call while you'd pepper his skin, only if he wanted to. and you'd see him go so red in the face, shyly nodding because of how exciting it sounded. he's played games like this with you before, but nothing sounded as exhilarating as this.

and during the call, you didn't hold back— nibbling softly on his earlobe and a hand playing with his hair, watching from the corner of your eyes how he bit his tongue, trying to stay focused and respond to the restaurant with a stable voice. and he'd be so red & stupidly burying his giggles the way you were kissing him just so nice on his neck, almost stumbling on his words on the call.

and he'd glance at you triumphant when the call ended, successfully keeping a stable voice and asking you to kiss him cuz he won, it's not like you're gonna say no to those lips, right? and he'd giggle at your sulking expression while he ate his your tempura, sliding them over to you and watching the confusion turn into a soft smile, telling you he loved it when you scowled so pretty— but he can't let you stay upset like that.

and eventually, he'd catch you falling asleep in his arms while he played, “just one more round,” neck weak and head jerking from the waves of sleep hitting you. and he'd softly push your head to rest on his chest while he placed a soft kiss to your forehead, feeling your cheeks stretch into a smile against his skin, telling you, “just a little longer, hm?”

yeonjun - it's early on a sunday. he woke up way too early but could not get back to sleep and instead got started on making sure everything was absolutely perfect. his rubs your upper arm to wake you gently. ur blurry vision clears up to be welcomed by the sight of his pretty makeup-free face. but looking around, the room's full of candles and rose petals. and he says, "good morning, my love." he takes your hands, takes a deep breath and says, "you are so beautiful." tears prick his eyes but you still have no idea what's going on. "you're everything i've ever wanted. you're perfect." then he pulls out a black ring box and you gasp, covering your mouth. "jjun, are you—" "will you marry me?" after an obvious yes and lots of tears, you can't think of any other way to express your love for each apart from making incredible, passionate love. hands all over bodies. shared breath between each other.

soobin - rents a room at a museum for the night and creates his own little exhibit of all the pictures you've taken together over the years. as you walk in the room and take a look around, you can't help but let tears flow down your cheeks. pictures of the first six months of ur relationship all shy and still awkward, then photos of trips you took together, anniversaries, every moment he insisted on capturing. and ur so thankful he did. you're taking everything in—your favorite song playing over a room full of your favorite pictures—and then you turn around to see soobin on one knee, holding out a ring. before he can even speak, u drop to ur knees, wrapping ur arms around his neck, whispering "yes, yes, yes" and "i love you, i love you, i love you." he giggles, "i haven't even asked yet!" you laugh, resting back on ur knees, holding his free hand with both of yours. and finally, a simple, "will you marry me?"

beomgyu - packs a picnic and makes you hike up a mountain in the middle of the night. usually, he'd be groaning and grumpy all the way up but this time, it's you. "gyu...why are we even hiking at 1am?" and he keeps smugly saying, "you'll see!" but you just assume he's being annoying and messing with you. when you get to the top and look up at the gorgeous stars in the sky, you gasp and look over at him, looking back at you like i told you so. you go in for a hug and "i'm sorry i whined the whole time....." and y'all can't stop giggling. spreading out a blanket, you snuggle into each other, staring up at the sky. right as a shooting star goes by, he watches ur face, thinking ur so much prettier. he whispers his proposal and you think ur dreaming. but you simply turn ur head and say, "of course i'll marry you."

taehyun - takes you to a gorgeous, gorgeous garden, pergolas dripping in vines and florals. a tiny waterfall nearby. he didn't make a big deal about it that day. just asked to take you somewhere pretty. he did make sure to get your favorite drink and snacks. and you spend so much time walking around, being clingy, holding hands, kissing. he's so complimentary the whole time, but you don't think much of it. that's how he always is, to be fair. finally, he brings you to the most secluded corner of the garden. and he gives the sweetest speech you've ever heard. about how much he loves you, how he knew you were the one the moment he met you, how much you mean to him, how he wants to grow old with you. then, he pulls out a stunning ring and asks you to marry him.

hueningkai - both of you are musicians and it's common for you to be each other's page turners when practicing piano. one of you sits in a chair near the piano bench, following along with the music and turning the pages when it's time. and today, he asks you to do just that. but today's special. he wrote a song for you. "will you turn the pages for me please?' he asks sweetly, kissing your cheek. you listen intently, being sure to keep up with the notes while appreciating the gorgeous song for what it is. a few pages in, you flip a page and written in his messy handwriting, it says, "will you marry me?" it takes a second to process, but once you do, you're giggling, wrapping ur arms around him, kissing his cheek, saying "yes, yes! ohmygosh, yes!!"
