Thanks for the recs! What Comes of Attending the Commoner's Ball is a recent release that I've been looking forward to reading. The author is a friend of mine, and I've heard very good things about the book. I enjoyed a novella she wrote. I haven't read Moonscript for similar reasons. It's too dark for me. But I love the author and her work, all the same. (She's another good friend of mine, as is the author of Illuminare.) I HAVE read Illuminare, and it is phenomenal!! I highly recommend it. It's intriguing adult epic fantasy with a heist story, a brotherly friendship, and a few frenemy relationships. I own it in paperback and ebook, and it's gorgeous.
Heads up for people who like fantasy: There's a two-day sale (12/6 and 12/7) with a whole bunch of free indie ebooks. It's billed as "no-spice fantasy", but in a lot of cases, that just means "the book is focused on things besides romance", which I appreciate because that can be really hard to find in this marketplace.
There are some that look like fluffy tropefests, but also a surprising number of books that I've wanted to read for a while, and several that sound decent-enough to make me go, "Well, for the price of free, I can taste it and throw it away if I have to." It's definitely worth checking out.

LEE KNOWS A MAN.
Schizophrenia Madonna’s Whore Complex: Will Graham is not for the sensitive eye (viewing media of what a superhero persona is for the deluxe motions of the world from Lightmare (HSJ's meta), so it takes a primordial (necessarily the use of the frequent word is my autism making sense, so i delay the frequency by thought to think of the better to than actually being used from (Gomez is my purest enemy by tongue now discovering the home govt is taken to by and from the actress (Sonny Monroe) is dying from a lack of light (her sunny Sonny) hence her name, so that is purely evidence on Will's situation in Hannibal (How Lee knows him), so you're thinking like Lee (Piemaker) to William (Will) and that is how Lightmare (Marvel comics) has access to Harper's electricity outbreak before the school meets up with an honourary dead legends class of broken suns (Lithgow official) to reignite fantasy and fate into one (Will's sexual fantasy in lights to Harper as 'reason' in Marvel seperate to her sexual persona oncoming her journey as a reason on TV (project: turn it over)'
Schizophrenia Hollywood: Piemaker is sexually attracted to the symbol of baking, not the woman.
Schizophrenia Hate: Piemaker's aliases exist only for Harper to see, all you ever see is just Lee Pace being Will Graham in your face, (except the gorl bois Harper knows via Harlem Lima (Chuck)

For book asks: 124, 96, and 43
#43: Dare, by Tricia Mingerink
Man I love this book. It's the first in a five book series about an assassin who finds redemption and helps the resistance take down the evil king he used to work for! It's also Christian fiction (my beloved), and there are some FABULOUS friendships!! And romances, too!!
#96: The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in A Ship of Her Own Making, by Catherynne M. Valente
This book is so unique!! It's about a girl who travels to Fairyland, meets a Wyvary (part Library, part Wyvern), and goes on a quest! Plus there's an album by S. J. Tucker based on it, I LOVE it
#124: Crown of Sand and Sea, by H. S. J. Williams
I flippin LOVED this book. It's a novella accompanying Moonscript (one of my favorite books ever), about a side character. He's a sailor, a smuggler, namely of people he saves from slavery, and just all out COOL. I love him
Thanks for the ask!!

8, 17, 26, and 46 for the bookish asks? please? (also how are you doing?) <3333
#8: Paperback or hardcover? Why?
Paperback, because they're easier to carry in my purse.
#17: If you owned a bookshop, what would you name it?
Either The Pen and The Dragon, or something else referencing @kanerallels WIP.
#26: If you could be a character from a book for their entire life, who would you be and why?
Hmmm... maybe Tryss from Moonscript. She's one of the main characters though, and I'd rather be a background or supporting character. Or possibly Renna or Kayleigh from the Blades of Acktar books, but, y'know, same problem.
#46: What is your favorite thing to drink when reading?
I don't really have a specific staple, but if I did, it'd be apple cider, hot chocolate, or tea. One of those three.
(And I'm doing pretty good!! It's my day off, did some art, read some more of a retelling of Aladdin, mocked the main character (the book could be summarized with "idiots in love") and watched Psych!! How are you?)
Thanks for the ask!!

💖📚 and 🥺 for the bookish asks!
💖: What's your favorite friends-to-lovers ship?
Hmmmm.... I think I'll say Ashley Stalworth and Walter Foley. I ship the HECK out of those two
📚: What's a series (4 or more main books) you always recommend because it's awesome?
Either Dragons In Our Midst or Blades of Acktar. Both are Christian fiction, and awesome, and fantasy, but one has assassins, and the other has, well, dragons. And also King Arthur
🥺: What's a truly underrated book/series you recommend and wish the whole world would read?
I'd say yours, but it's not out yet, so it doesn't count. So instead I'll say Moonscript, by H. S. J. Williams. Found family, angst, elves, furry dragons. It's EXCELLENT
Thanks for the ask!

#6, 31, 31 and 35 for the bookish asks!
#6: Which book was the last one you really, really loved?
Hmmmm.... if it's a book I read for the first time, Quintessence, by Jess Redman. It was a nice mix of fantasy and contemporary, which I loved. Plus, it was beautiful. The main character was SUPER relatable.
#31: Who's your favorite contemporary author?
Either Meg Cannistra, who wrote The Trouble with Shooting Stars, or Jo Cotteril, who wrote Jelly. The Trouble with Shooting Stars is also contemporary with a sprinkling of fantasy. Jelly is not, but it's just REALLY good.
#35: Name a book you consider to be terribly underrated.
Bless you for adding this one.
EASILY Moonscript, by H. S. J. Williams. Elves, fantasy, a furry dragon, angst, high-key found family, a smuggler captain.... it's INCREDIBLE.
Thanks for the ask!!

Thoughtful Thursday
“You know the tale of creation?” he asked.
“Of course, ” she said. Anybody knew that. Even poor orphan children were expected to have a basic understanding of Ayeshune and the world’s beginning lest they be considered absolute heathens.
He raised his hand and the edges of his skin began to glow. Her eyes widened as the light drifted from his fingers and gathered in a shining sphere before him. Magic? But of course, he was not an earth elf, but a celestial, or so the legends said.
Out of all the scenes, this is probably my favorite. Tillie is my FAVORITE character. I love her so much!!😩 She resembles a lot of my personality and I can relate to her so much. This scene is pretty basic but my favorite. I loved the artwork that went along with it. It's so cool that H.S.J. Williams not only wrote this book but also illustrated it! I love these characters so much. The journey they've been on is remarkable. They've been through so many hardships and trials but also lots of happy moments too. I can't wait to read more about their journey and Coren and Zizain’s in Crown of Sand & Sea.
(Also included my favorite quote!)
