i totally get how season 5 isn't everyone's cup of tea and that's totally fair and i understand!! however. i just can't relate because this is just so balls to the walls crazy that i am so endlessly entertained

lila stole all of the agreste lore from nathalie and also has been wearing a wig this entire time. felix snapped the entirety of earth away. chloe became the fucking mayor and then had an emotional breakdown sobbing alone when she lost it. kagami and felix having a random cringe (/positive) whirlwind romance like the two sheltered awkward teens they are. adrien and marinette kissing on the steps of a private jet in a dramatic emotional moment. ADRIEN had the coveted chat blanc nightmare in a sandboy adjacent akuma. adrien just is Cursed with endless nightmares now (and rose and juleka????) and lives in a sensory deprivation chamber. marinette knows all the senti lore now and was told via the most theater-kid interpretive perfomance art hallucination ever?????????

and i am LIVING for all of it. i am SO ENTERTAINED.

Haven’t seen the newest episodes yet, only seen what everybody’s talking about, and I gotta say: I hope Chloé just stays mayor. They now have a classmate who is more than a bit of an asshole and who is 14 years old and also rules the city with an iron fist as its unelected dictator.

Give me scenes of Sabrina preparing the city's budget. Have Chloé perform wedding ceremonies. She decides with a simple thumbs up or thumbs down whether there's a bike lane, but she's still gotta sit in chemistry class.

miraculous ladybug has got to be the funniest show ever. a 14 year old girl has just seized control of the parisian government. if i didn't watch the show and someone told me that i would laugh in their face. i'm still not above doing that.

finding out adrienette facetimes each other every living moment they don’t spend side by side is so funny when you remember gabriel is toxic and abusive. because like yeah he can talk his shit. but his son is holding up his phone like a window to his very scary fourteen year old girlfriend and gabriel agreste has completely underestimated how fire her insults are. they commence battle every morning at breakfast

I remember reading an analysis post a long time ago (which I can’t find for the life of me 😩) that described how Lila’s design, particularly her hair, fits her character. The OP essentially said that when you look at Lila from the front, you think that she’s wearing her hair down, which can be used to visually represent how open/free a character is, but it’s not until you see her from behind that you realize her hair’s been tied up the entire time; she appears to be open and friendly, but in actuality, she’s keeping her true self closed off/kept away until she chooses to reveal herself to someone

Additionally, her full bangs, which covered her entire forehead and eyebrows, helped to demonstrate how closed-off she really is

She’s much more in control of herself than she lets on, as she’s only letting you see what she wants you to see

But now, she’s traded her long hair for a pixie cut with short bangs that show off her eyebrows. Whether it’s a recent change or if her hair’s always been short, I couldn’t tell you, but seeing her new look in these two episodes reminded me of that post

Up until this point, she had a façade that she relied on to hide her true intentions in plain sight, but now that’s gone (maybe it was never really there to begin with, assuming her hair’s always been short); she’s no longer putting up a front of friendly innocence to trick people into buying her lies

Why would she bother now that everyone who matters knows she’s the bad guy? Why would she bother when she’s got Chloé to act as her puppet and do all the publicly despicable stuff for her? Why would she bother now that she’s finally winning?

She’s always embraced her role as the villain, but now she’s doing so openly, with no façade to hide behind

This is who Lila really is, has always been, and she’s not hiding it from anyone anymore
