Actually Saint and Shin are extremelyyyyy unhealthy about each other. No normal friendship expresses this much priority and love for each other as they do in those flashbacks. They are borderline ignorant of the rest of the world- they are each other's world.

Thats precisely why the reaction Saint has to Shin "leaving" him comes out so naturally, so involuntarily, so pathetically- because what is he, in his raging fit, supposed to do when his world is leaving him.

Thats also completely understandable that Shin can't get himself to not care, even if he hates Saint. You can hate your home as much as you want- hate the cracks in your wall and the shitty paint- but you will still put the bucket under the leaking roof because you can't get yourself to stop caring.

They're so unhealthy, theyre so toxic, its obsessive and i am deranged about them.

hsf watching experience is constantly going to and fro between "platonic love is not inferior to romantic love and often is as strong and as important" and "they need to kiss right now or i'm blowing everything up"

In scenes from High School Frenemy that drive me crazy for today is this where

Shin's mom objects to Saint and Shin becoming friends again

Saint who feels fresh guilt yet again cuz Shin could have died because of him instantly agrees to her statement

and Shin is immediately alerted because he knows where this is going (Saint leaving him again without putting up a fight to be with him)

I love Nani's acting in these moments. You can feel his anger, hurt, frustration, disappointment

Finally! Saint is ready to commit!

Saint wants to stop running away. He made a mistake, a terrible one, but in the end he could never let go of Shin.

They both pleaded Shin's mom so she can accept that they are going to stay together.

I made a post about how forgiveness doesn't equal forgetting about some previous episodes of the series and I think Shin really understand that. Yes what happened was terrible, but it was eating them up. Despite everything, Shin can't live without Saint and vice-versa. They need each other and this bond has remain strong despite the anger, the betrayal and the time.

They couldn't hide it more. I think Shin's mom can really see that things are different now. In the end, she just wants her son to be happy and his happiness is tied to his "friendship" to Saint.

Today I’ve used the first day of my Christmas holidays to binge EP1-5 of High School Frenemy!

And just like Chadjen fangirling over Saint’s love confession on the rooftop, I am very excited!!!! 😃

But I already can’t take it!! Because seriously…

Obvs don’t tell me, but also… I want to know!!!!!!!

In most of their pre-conciliation fights, Shin is demanding Saint to fight back. That being him, the twins, Nate or whoever.

I think that is because deep down Shin knows Saint gave up and stopped fighting, gave up on them and on himself. He stopped fighting back because he was afraid of himself and that was never what Shin wanted.

Shin was never truly mad about his broken leg, all his anger was about this, about Saint giving up and running away. So, Shin always asks Saint to fight, because through all this time he loved him and wanted him not to be afraid of being himself.

Also, after they were apart, all Shin was doing was fighting. He started doing all the time the thing Saint saw as his personal "unforgivable flaw".

And he only trully stops when they started being really together again.
